Nyme was a bit confused by everything which happened so far yet she was happy that she finally found her father. Now she really wanted to go home to her mom but it seemed that won't happen too quickly. The random dude she met not so long ago got emotional after seeing her father too.
- Nyoze... Is that really you?... - Gammon asked, not believing his eyes. It felt like a dream yet it was truly reality. His long lost brother is standing in front of him, alive and well. He approched him slowly, afraid like if he could dissapear any moment.
- Gammon!... - It took some time for Nyoze to process the situation but he was still very happy to see him. He quickly walked towards his brother. - I never thought I would see you again... What are you doing there?
He wanted to tell him everything, how he was searching him all those years, how he couldn't accept his death but just a looking at his brother's face filled with happiness, the tears started gathering in his eyes.
- I... I... - He tried to say anything but he wasn't able to control his emotions anymore. He covered his face to hide that he started crying. Through years, he was imaging their potential meeting all over in his head, thinking what he would say yet when he saw him alive for real, there was no words which could describe his feelings.
Nyoze smiled softly as he hugged his younger brother silently.
- Shh... It's alright now. - He reassured him, just like he did when they were both children. Despite the years, it still worked as he started slowly calming down.
- Why, Nyoze... - Gammon muttered after a while. - Why couldn't you at least tell me that you are alive...
His brother was quiet for a while, before answering.
- I wished that I could do that. - He said. - The fact that you would think you became all alone was breaking my heart... But it was a way to keep you safe as well. When everyone was certian that I was dead, no one would have reasons to bring you harm anymore.
- I wouldn't care if someone could harm me or not!... - Gammon's tone got even more emotional than he wanted. - All this years... I was dreaming of you everynight, hoping to find you one day...
He cleanched hands to his brother's sweater, as if he could dissapear again any moment.
- You wrote to me to not look after you if something bad would happen... But how could I not try to search for my brother? Even if there was almost no hope left?
Now Nyoze felt tears in his eyes after his words yet he just smiled and hugged him more tightly.
- You were always so stubborn, just like me... - He said as one single tear rolled down his face. - I should excepted that you would find me one day again.
- Of course I would... Always.
Eventually their tearful reunion was disturbed by Nyme, who started clinging to her father to catch his attention.
- Papa, let's go home... I wanna see mama. - She said with a slight pout, bringing them back to reality.
Only now Gammon finally processed certian information. The little girl which he helped before was calling his brother "papa" and nagging him to return to her "mama". Not to even mention similar apperance... How he didn't connected the dots that they all have same hair color? It seems that rumor he heard back then in nearby town was actually very accurate comparing to reality.
- You... You have a child? - He asked as if he still couldn't believe it. It seems that a lot of things were happening in his brother life when he was "dead".
- Oh.... Ahah, yes. - Nyoze laughed nervously realizing that now he has to explain everything. - That's my daughter, Nyme. Isn't she cute? Ahah...
- She is... - Gammon sighed while looking at confused girl. - I'm just... Quite surprised that you got a kid.
- Well honestly, it was also surprise for me... - He replied in half-joking tone, scratching his head.
- How so–... Oh. Nevermind. - He sighed, dropping the topic. Despite the years, his brother hasn't changed much in terms of personality.
Meanwhile Nyme was getting more and more impatient as she started pulling her father's hand as to move him finally.
- I wanna go homeeeee!... - She started nagging him even more.
This reminded Nyoze that Nemesis is most likely still looking for her daughter, going more insane every second somewhere in the forest.
- Oh... I think we need to return back, my wife must be worrying herself to death. - He explanied to his brother. - Let's go home, Gammon.
He reached his hand towards him, inviting to join them. Seeing this, Gammon felt getting emotional again but he didn't wanted to cry anymore. He smiled softly while grabbing his hand.
- Yes... Let's go home.
Nyme was happy that they were finally going home but she wasn't sure why that guy she met in forest is still there. Not only he and her father were hugging eachother while crying, now he was also coming home with them so it was natural for her to be suspicious. She was walking near her father, holding his hand while observing closely this so called "Gammon". He could feel her judging look directed towards him.
- Papa... Who is this guy? - She finally asked. - Why he is coming with us?
- Oh, right... - Nyoze sighed, realizing that all in this mess he forgot to explain everything to his daughter too. - Beacuse he is my brother, which makes him your uncle. I know it's quite confusing for you but he's part of our family too.
- Family, huh... - Nyme looked again at her new uncle. For her, family was made of her parents only. In fact, she didn't had that much of contact with other people beside them so it was kind of hard to believe it that he belongs to the family too. Yet at the same time he was very nice to her and was trying to help her find a way home... It looks she can trust him more.
She started walking between them, not just hiding behind her father.
- Well, I guess I can finally told you my name. - She said proudly. - I'm Nyme!
She reached her hand towards him so now they could all hold hands, with her between them.
Gammon smiled as he grabbed his niece's hand.
- I'm Gammon. Nice to meet you. - He introduced himself properly as well. - Just call me uncle.
- Uncle... Uncle Gammon. - The girl repeated his name, chuckling happily.
Nyoze was happy that these two were going along already. Together, they returned home in good mood.
Meanwhile Nemesis went back home devastated. She tried looking everywhere but she still couldn't find her daughter. Just the thought that something bad might happened to her, was breaking her heart. What a failure of a mother, not being able to even find her own child.
Come to think, she didn't saw Nyoze for sometime too... If she's going to be all alone again?
- Mama! - The sudden familiar voice brought her back from those dark thoughts. When she looked back she saw her daughter running towards her, all safe and sound.
- Nyme!... - Nemesis rushed towards her, not wasting any time futher. When being close enough, she lifted her up and hugged closely.
- I was so worried... - She sighed with relief, all her previous frustation dissapearing. - Where is your father? Did he found you?
- Mhm. - The girl nodded. - And he found uncle too, look.
- Found who—... - She didn't even finished, looking at where her child pointed, seeing not only her husband but his brother too. They looked so similar to eachother that she guessed it immediately. Nyoze was often talking about him and how he missed him but she would never except to see him in person. She was too stuuned to speak.
Meanwhile Gammon was looking at her with wide eyes, just like she was at him. His sister-in-law was no one other then Nemesis Sudou herself. From what his brother wrote to him back then, it seemed he had feelings for his supposed "killer" yet he unappreciated how strong they were. After all, the kid didn't got there out of nowhere...
- Oh, Nyoze. - Gammon mumbled to himself, letting a long sigh.
Nyoze actually heard that but only chuckled nervously before switching his attention to Nemesis, who was looking suspiciously at his new found brother.
- I know it's very sudden and shocking. - He began, after clearing his throat. - But I can assure you my brother don't have any bad intentions towards us. Actually, Nyme was found thanks to him.
- Yeah, we were searching for a way back home! It was kinda funny. - Nyme chuckled, remembering how they were walking around to find that one specific tree.
After hearing those words from her husband and daughter she was able to finally relax a bit.
- Thank you... - She said, looking briefly at her brother-in-law before focusing on her husband again. - What now, then? He will stay with us for night?
- Yes. - Nyoze nodded, while looking at his brother again.- I think it would be good occasion to finally explain everything.
Nemesis sighed, while hugging her daughter more closely to her. She knew that they couldn't stay hidden forever from everyone and someone sooner or later would find out that they are alive. From all of people who could do that, Nyoze's brother was the safest one.
- To explain what? - Nyme asked curiosly, wondering what adults could be talking about.
- Explain why children shouldn't wander off from their parents in the middle of the forest. - She said in slightly stricter tone. - Do you know what happens to children who do that? They are put to sleep earlier.
Nemesis started walking towards their home entrance, while still holding Nyme who was now trying to escape from her mother's arms.
- Nooo!... Papa save me I don't wanna go to sleeeeep!... - She pleaded dramatically reaching her hand towards her father.
- Ahah, that's true... As for punishment they are sent earlier to bed. - He laughed nervously, glad that his wife found a way to not keep Nyme around when they will be talking. He just hoped that she won't remember later for punishment for fathers who lost their children...
- Well, anyway. - He switched his attention to Gammon again. - Let's go inside and explain everything, hmm?
He smiled while inviting him inside. Gammon returned the smile slighty. He couldn't remember when he felt such a warm before.
- Sure, we have to do it before you will be put to bed earlier as well. - He walked inside, teasing his brother at the same time.
Nyoze sighed while closing the door behind them. It was already long day but night is gonna be even longer.
