Everything is up to your creative mind. Does the team keep it secret? Or go public? Does the driver explore/get cochlear implants? How does the driver find strength? Do they breakdown at any point? Do they get support? From whom?Bonus points if the grid really steps up to support the driver. And extra bonus points for team dynamics/bond.

Summary
Being on the receiving end of a curse on the cusp of winning the WDC is extremely inconvenient... especially when it's this curse (author's choice). Desperate to find a way to remove the curse, Driver A reaches out to Driver B, who maybe has the solution to his problem.
A few suggestions for the curse: magic pussy (classic), seeing ghosts/demons, dreaming curse (sleep is always poor), monster curse (werewolf/vampire/etc), inability to lie, ties to the moon cycle (in a bad way)... anything you think of is awesome!

Driver A becomes seriously ill (cancer or an illness of your choice...), and disappears into thin air to seek treatment. Pilot B (secretly in love) starts looking for him and when he finds him he decides to stay with him to support him during the treatment. The writer chooses the ending, whether positive or negative.

Characters A and B are teammates whose close friendship (or maybe more) is ruined by rivalry, devolving into a bitter feud where they vow never to speak again. When Character A dies (in a manner of the author's choosing, though a crash is preferred for dramatic reasons), B is left with the fallout of never being able to repair the relationship. (Villeroni is the ur-example, but if you want to subject your favorite modern drivers to this scenario, please do! i encourage it, even!!!!)

Summary
Lando or Oscar (either one) has a very bad crash where they end up physically fine, but it affects them mentally in an intense way. They end up having some form of PTSD which manifests in vivid night terrors and nightmares.
The other finds out — maybe the one with the issue naps in their drivers room and wakes up screaming? — and ends up moving in with them to help take care of them/comfort them when it happens.

idk if anyone remembers when the fia website got hacked and all of the drivers personal info was at the guy’s fingertips (luckily he was a good samaritan)
but i’m thinking, what if that data had been leaked? those files had some pretty sensitive info, like doctors notes, passport scans, and ssn — what if one of the drivers got outed (maybe the doctors notes says they’re on PrEP or their sexuality is noted somewhere)? how would their lives change? how would the others react?

A witch curses driver A and he loses his voice. He can't speak anymore. Driver A and driver B are trying to figure out a way to combat this curse because driver A NEEDS his voice for his job, communicating with the team, radio messages etc.. This is a world where magic is normalized. Almost everyone has at least a little magic in them. One driver might be more powerful than the other. How the rules exactly work is your decision, but when driver A starts to lose vision in one of his eyes, panic ensues because what if he loses all of his senses and his career and might as well his whole life is ruined?

Summary
Driver A and driver B get sent to do an escape room for filming social media content. Both are not really happy about it but do it (can be from the same team or just random two drivers, who cares if it makes sense). But suddenly driver B gets very quiet and is starting to have a panic attack. Maybe because of claustrophobia, something triggers him, or any phobia? Driver B tries to play it cool and ultimately fails and driver A is left to calm him, help him out and deal with the aftermath.
