Chapter Text

“All-Seeing Eyes”

 

“Fuck, my head…” The short girl with two blonde ponytails cursed as she sat up from the floor. She tried to adjust her eyes to the darkness of the room, “W-what the fuck…?” 

The girl pushed herself off the floor, feeling drowsy. “Hello?” A shaper voice called out from a few space back of the- was this a fucking laundry room?

“Who’s there.” The sharper voice demanded, “Holy shit, relax.” The short girl with ponytails scoffed. “…What’s your name.” The sharper voice hesitated.

The ponytailed girl did not feel too keen to share that but groaned and answered. “Kumada Erina.” The sharper voice immediately started with demands, “Find a light switch. I’ll help.” She requested.

“I’m going, Christ.” Erina murmured and felt around the wall for the light switch. There was now groans and murmurs of sleepiness echoing the room as people began waking up.

Erina found the light switch and flipped it on, she squinted as she got used to the light. “What the hell…” The sharp voice murmured as she looked at the 14 people lying on the ground.

“Wh-wha-“ A boy with long black hair sat up, “Wah! This is scary!” A girl with blonde pigtails exclaimed, is that one kid from Fukushima Family? “Kumada, help me wake people up.” The sharper voice ordered, she was a girl with black hair and glasses.

”The hell? No, you don’t tell me what to do!” Erina immediately refused, “who even are you?!” The girl groaned, “My name is Sasaki Hitomi. Now help.” Sasaki began shaking people awake. Erina scoffed and did the same despite her first rejection.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m gettin up.” A man with a blonde ponytail mumbled as he forced himself awake. “16…” Sasaki counted the people in the room, soon more people would wake up.

”W-what the hell.” The boy with long black hair balanced himself with the wall and stood up. “Hey, what’s your name.” Sasaki went over to him, the boy opened his mouth but was cut off by someone calling out to him. “Hirose?” The boy with red shades called out confused and the boy with black hair turned around, “Nakamigawa?”

”Look. If everyone could please calm down.” Sasaki cleared her throat before speaking, “Yes. Everyone, please calm down.” A glowing red rabbit appeared by Sasaki’s feet, Sasaki immediately backed away from the thing, swearing that it wasn’t here before. The girl with the pigtails yelped at the thing.

”Is that a fucking rabbit?” The man with the blonde ponytail questioned, looking down at the thing. “Why is it talking…” A boy with long white hair and a red scarf mumbled. “Why is it red?! Why is it glowing?!” The girl in a gymnast outfit exclaimed.

“Please just breathe and calm down. I’d appreciate a moment of your attention.” The rabbit stated, waiting for silence. “This can’t be real…” A boy with pink hair shook his head, trying to calm himself down. “It appears a lot of you are still dizzy, please take some time to settle yourselves.” The rabbit hummed, “Just tell us where we fucking are!” A girl with a pizza dress scowled.

“How lucky you asked. That’s actually exactly what I wanted to discuss with you all.” The rabbit began, “You are here to play a game.” It was about to continue explaining but was stopped. “Uh, no. I don’t really think I want to.” The man with the ponytail said, “I’m just gonna go, bye.” Sasaki look stunned, “You can’t just-“ However, he had already left the laundry room and no one said a word.

”…I’d like to request that someone relay this information to Mr.Akiba when he realizes our situation.” The rabbit continued, “How about you explain our situation first?!” Hirose exclaimed, now irritated. “Shingo, cool it.” Hiroaki frowned, wary of the literal glowing red rabbit. Hirose backed down a bit but glared at the thing, “This is ridiculous.” The rabbit looked at the rest of the group, “Welcome to Fujioka Memorial High School. This is the building that you will call home for the foreseeable future.“ The boy with the backpack looked panicked, “Sawa!” A tiger cub jumped out of his backpack, “Kya-!” The girl with the pigtails yelped, “Holy shit!” The girl with the pizz dress gasped.

”He has a damn tiger, are you kidding me?!” Erina exclaimed, “Please let me speak.” The rabbit asked, “We’re trapped in here with a tiger?!” Nakamigawa gapped, Hirose rolled his eyes. “Hey! Let it speak!” Hirose yelled and silence followed after. “You are currently on the school’s basement floor. This is where you will find facilities such as the dormitories, kitchen, auditorium, incinerator, and of course, the laundry room.” The rabbit explained, “That is where you are now. You're free to roam this floor as you please, but please refrain from damaging or breaking the building in any way.” 

“Excuse me, I have a question.” A person in a fox mask said, “please wait until I’ve finished explaining.” The rabbit stopped them. “Right.” The fox-masked person nodded, the rabbit seemed almost surprised at their immediate obedience. “The only way to escape this building is to kill somebody.” The rabbit finally explained and was met with a chorus of resistance and fear, “No. No one is doing that!” Hirose snapped, “The game you're here to play is one of life and death. Nobody is allowed to leave until somebody has won.“ The rabbit informed, “Is this some kind of joke?!” The girl with the pizza dress fumed.

”To win, you must either kill one of your peers without being caught, or you must survive through five trials and reach the game's ending state.” The rabbit continued, “Ending stage?” Erina said to herself, “What are you taking about?!” The boy with pink hair panicked. “If a student is found guilty of murder during a class trial, they too will meet with the fate of death.” The rabbit finished, “I wanna go home… I wanna go home!” The girl with pigtails whimpered and a girl with long white hair walked over, “Hey, it’ll be okay, don’t worry.” She reassured the girl, she seemed like a motherly person, the girl with the pigtails clung to her. 

“Death is the only way one can lose this game. It isn’t so hard.” The rabbit reassured them, “We’re all very happy to have you here. Please, enjoy your stay.” The rabbit disappeared, just like that. This caused much confusion and worry, “What the hell.” Sasaki said under her breath looking around.

“Lower One’s Eyes”

Everyone was still in the laundry room, introducing themselves and discussing their situation when there was a loud ring, an intercom. “Hello students, welcome to Fujioka Memorial High School. As today is your first day on campus, I'd like to go over a few of the rules you'd need to follow while you're here.” The rabbits voice came through the intercom. “Great…” A boy with blue hair groaned, “Rule one, Please refrain from damaging or destroying any school property.” 

“There goes your ‘punching a hole in the damn wall’ idea.” The pizza dress girl, who said her name was Nishiguchi Mutsuko rolled her eyes at the blonde ponytailed man, Akiba Taku, who had came back in a few minutes after the rabbit left. “I mean I can still do it, what is going to do? Stop me?” Akiba shrugged, “Yes?” Nishiguchi scoffed. “Both of you, enough. Listen.” Sasaki shushed them, “Who died and made you leader?” Nishiguchi glared at her. “Don’t joke about that!” The blonde pigtailed girl, known as Chiba Airi, frowned. “Shut up!” Hirose yelled, “Hirose, relax.” Nakamigawa sighed. “It’ll be okay, doctor! You just have to stay calm!” The tall and cheerful girl named Denden smiled.

“Rule two, Night time takes place between 10pm and 7am.” The rabbit announced, “Okay? Who the hell cares?” Erina questioned. “Wait for it.” Nishiguchi hummed, “Some areas of the school may be off-limits during this time. You will also find that no running water will be available during this time, so please plan accordingly.” The rabbit added, “What, that’s such bullshit!” Erina exclaimed, “Who cares? Honestly, who cares?” Nakamigawa deadpanned. 

“Rule three, You may only exit the school through means of winning the killing game.” The boy with pink hair, Tei Atsushi, muttered under his breath. “Thanks so much for reminding us again, I’m sure we’d have forgotten by now.” This caused Akiba to snicker, being the only one who heard him.

“Rule four, Certain limitations and motivations may be put in place to encourage participation in the killing game.” The girl with long white hair, Ouno Nanae, looked confused at that rule, “Certain limitations?” Denden smiled faltered, “that sounds really ominous…” The rabbit’s voice echoed through the laundry room, “New rules may come with these limitations and motivations.These rules must be followed as any other rules are, up until a killing takes place.” The group was now silent, trying to imagine what these ‘motivations’ might be like.

“Rule five, When a killing takes place, a trial will follow it.” This rule caused many people to pay close attention to it. “If the killer, or blackened, is identified correctly during this trial, they will be executed. If they are not identified correctly, they will win the game, and be released. All other students will be executed in their place.” It was quickly loud again, “What the fuck?!” Erina exclaimed, “So no matter if you killed someone, if you get caught, you still lose…” The boy with the tiger cub, Harada Keizou, retold the rule to himself. 

“Rule six, The blackened may kill an absolute maximum of two students throughout the game. Additional rules may be announced in the future, so please stay alert. Thank you for your cooperation.” The intercom noise faded out, “Why would some want to kill more than one person?” The boy with white hair and a red scarf, Shishikura Osamu, questioned. “Probably because of the motivations or pure enjoyment.” The girl with the fox mask, Okazaki Hanano, suggested. “I hope nobody will kill because they ‘can’.” Tei exhaled nervously.

”They won’t because nobody is going to kill one another so you can go ahead and put that out of your mind.” Sasaki’s brows furrowed as she told that information to the group with such confidence, it almost made it feel like a promise. “R-right.” Tei nodded, Sasaki cleared her throat before beginning. “I believe we should all look around this school for an exit or anything that might help us escape. It would also be beneficial for getting a layout of this place.” Sasaki suggested, with no disagreements, the group all headed to different areas.

Chapter Text

[Room Number]

 

 

Ouno walked down a long hallway and looked at the doors that lined it. On a door there was a nameplate with hers on it, she walked over to the door cautiously. She pushed it open cautiously. “That’s…worrying…” she frowned, imagining the worst since she didn’t have a key or anything to lock her room door with. “Excuse me.” The rabbit reappeared again, Ouno flinched. She looked down at the thing, “It appears you have found your bedroom. Nice, isn’t it?” The rabbit blinked at Ouno for a while as it got no response from her. “Ah. Well, each student has been provided with a key, you will find that key on your bedside table as soon as you walk in. Everything you need is in here, except food of course. However, you can find that in the kitchen.” The rabbit informed.

”Where is the kitchen?” Ouno hesitated before asking, “If you walk from the south stairwell and take your first left, it's right at the end of the hall.” The rabbit answered, “Thank you?” Ouno replied with a bit of confusion about what to say. “You’re welcome. In here, you have your bed, your private bathroom, and your workspace. I've designed each workspace to relate directly to your talents, so it should fit you nicely.“ The rabbit added and Ouno glanced over to the simple workout station to the right part of her room. The rabbit continued once more, “You've also been provided with a small toolkit to perform any needed maintenance on your space. Hopefully you won't need to use it either way.” Ouno silently took in this information but her thoughts came to the halt when the rabbit spoke again, “I'm afraid I have to get going. I have other students to speak to. Please enjoy your room.” Ouno watched it disappear into thin air, again.

“Weird…” She murmured before waking over to the bedside table and taking the key off of it. She peaked into the bathroom, average. She moved to walk out of the room, closing the door and locking it afterwards.

[Kitchen Raid]

 

 

“Nice kitchen,” Shishikura had a small smile as he looked around. “What? No it’s not. This kitchen is crap.” Nishiguchi scoffed, looking at the small, by her standards, kitchen. “Really? I wouldn’t really know, I don’t do too much in the kitchen…” Shishikura let out a small chuckle, Nishiguchi rolled her eyes and walked over to the pantry. She pulled the door opened, “At least it’s well stocked…” She murmured before slamming it closed, Shishikura opened the fridge, seeing it fully stocked. “The fridge stocked really well too, what happens if we finish it all?” He questioned out loud and the rabbit appeared a second later. “I can answer that, if you'd like.” The sudden voice of the rabbit cause Shishikura to yelp and Nishiguchi to curse, “What the hell?! Don’t just pop up!” She frowned, “I didn't mean to startle you.” The rabbit apologized, the two looked at each other and then the rabbit.

“The fridge will be regularly restocked, so you won't have to worry about that. Eat as much as you'd like, we’ve even accommodated for your tastes and food restrictions.“ The rabbit explained, “Why…do you keep saying we?” Shishikura asked, “That isn't really relevant to you right now. You have bigger issues to worry about at the moment, so please, don't let me distract you. If you have any other questions, I'll be near.“ The rabbit avoided the question before disappearing, “That thing is really pissing me off.” Nishiguchi growled, “What is it…? How can a rabbit just- I-“ Shishikura tried to piece together his thoughts but ultimately couldn’t. “I don’t care what the hell it is, it’s so annoying to be here.” Nishiguchi scoffed, “Come on. Let’s go find Sasaki or whatever.” She hummed, “R-Right! I’ll follow your lead Miss Nishiguchi!” Shishikura smiled.

[Dispose]

As soon as Kumada entered the incinerator room, she began coughing at the foul smell in the air. “Ugh, god! It smells like shit in here! What fucking died in here?!” Chiba looked incredibly more nervous after that statement, “Don’t say that! I’m already scared…” Kumada pulled her arm away from Chiba who had it in a death grip, “let go of me. The hell are you doing?” Chiba then started to smile, “You’re super tough and strong and you have a bat! You’ll keep me safe!” Kumada stared at her, “I'm not a fuckin' body guard,” she frowned. “Hey, Miss Kumada, what is this room for?” Chiba asked, “Are-Are you kidding, it’s a incinerator. You’ve never seen one before?” Kumada answered more confused than sarcastic, Chiba shook her head. “You dump trash in it and incinerate it with fire,” Kumada explained, “Oooooooh!” Chiba hummed, nodding, “That sounds cool! Turn it on, turn it on!” 

“No. Come on, I don't think there's anything left for us to find in here anyway, Let's just go back to Sasaki.” Kumada turned, pushing Chiba’s hands of her arm, “Let go of my arm.” She demanded, “I don’t wanna walk alone! Let me walk with you! Ooo, let me on your shoulders!” Chiba suggested happily, “…ugh, stop looking at me like that! Fine! It’s not gonna be cool or anything, we’re almost the same height!” Kumada sighed as Chiba got on her back, “Yayy! Pony ride!” Kumada groaned, “Don’t push your luck.”

[Public Pool Safety]

“Wooooaahhh! A pool!” Denden beamed, “Look Doctor, a pool!” Hirose blinked at her, “I know Denden.” He thought to himself out loud, “is this some kind of bunker? There is no reason why a laundry room and a pool should be on the same floor. Not to metion the rabbit.” Hirose squinted, “I have no idea…” Denden groaned dramatically, “Sorry, uh- that was rhetorical, I-I'm talking to myself.” Hirose clarified but Denden smiled wider, “Oh! That's fine! I'll talk to you too!” Hirose went silent, “R-right…thanks Denden.” Denden grinned before walking over to the pool, “should we ban this place, just in case for safety!” Hirose agreed, “not a bad idea, I’ll make sure we do. I don’t think anyone can kill each other, there’s too many of us and it’s just wrong.” Denden started humming but stopped, “but what if someone wanted to go home reaaaaalllly bad, though?”

”That’s also something to consider, I have think the ban is pretty good idea for the most part. We should head back to Sasaki,” Hirose told Denden, “Right! Coming doctor!” She laughed as she exited the pool room with Hirose, making sure to shut the door.
