DESTINATION- NYC (2012)
TIME- 6:45PM
PLANET INFECTION RATE- 35%
It was a normal, yet boring night in the new York sewers for Leo and his brothers. Raph was in his room drumming with the new drumset he salvaged from the back of an rundown shop, Donnie was in his laboratory doing who knows what, while Leo was in the doho with master Splinter, working on the new tricks master Splinter had taught him.
Mikey had left the lair not to long ago with Mondo gecko, to skate around a bit, as they said they'd be back in less then a hour (which was clearly a lie).
About half an hour later, Leo had just finished his training, as he as ended from the dojo, trained and ready to relax with the little time he had left before Mikey and his friend came back.
Leo sighed as he slipped down in the couch, his face submerged into the couch cushions, as he reached out for the TV remote before putting on whatever channel came up first. As Leo laid out in the couch, a yawn managed to escape his lips, as he slowly stretched out his arms before getting up to go see how Donnie was doing, simply because he was bored. Once outside his little brother's lab, he softly knocked on the metal doors, until Donnie answered, a tired expression on his face as he spoke.
"Yeah?"
A simple, soft smile already on Leo's face as he looked up at his brothers. Leo was definitely used to Donnies snappy attitude when distracted from his work.
"Good to see you to, mind if I come in?" Leo replied.
Donnie stared down at Leo for about a minute, as if not sure wether or not he should let his brother know, but eventually Donnie opened the doors wider, allowing Leo to come in.
Donnie's Lab was like his own little word, away from the rest of the world around him, as their where tons of scattered papers, blueprints, and a few old somewhat clean machine, and other weird looking technology that was enough to make Donnie look like the mad scientist of which he is. Leo walked a bit further into his brother lab, his eyes landing on a nearby table here Donnie had a few pieces of metal, flamethrowers and...other tools Leo couldn't quit describe, but it seemed like Donnie was working on something before Leo came in.
Leo didn't really pay attention to it as he looked around the jab for a second more before looking back over at Donnie.
"I see you're pretty busy in here, as always."
Donnie let out a him in response to Leo's comment, before responding.
"Yeah, I was just working on a new weapon for the turtle tank. So did you like..need me for something?"
Leo slowly walked over to one of Donnies chairs, taking a seat as he leaned back against it. He took a moment before responding.
"Nothing in particular. I was actually just looking for someone to talk to. I was getting bored just sitting on the couch by myself."
Donnie raised an invisible eyebrow as Leo's statement, a small smile appearing on his face, as he went over to the desk Leo saw earlier, where he stared working on the weapon he mentioned.
"Oh, really? And I always thought space heroes or the dojo would keep you company" He teased.
Leo rolled his eyes, although slightly amused by Donnies words. Leo folded his arms across his plastron as he spoke.
"Don't give me that. I'm allowed to relax and enjoy myself in other ways you know."
Time Skip: 2 hours later
it was now 10:34 at night. Leo was sitting back on the couch, with Donnie sitting a few inches from him, on his computer doing some research, until a sudden noise broke through the silence. Leo and Donnie immediately jumped in their spots on the couch.
It wasn't all that often that they got visitors, unless it was April or Casey, but their boy would have shot out a text in advance.
So the sudden noise immediately peaked their interest, as the both looked over towards the lair's entrance. The footsteps seemed to have been getting closer and closer, until finally Mikey and Mondo appeared from the dark tunnel.
Leo's expression quickly soften as he lowered his guard once he realized it was just his brother and Mondo. Donnie stood up from his spot on that couch as he liked towards Mikey and Mondo, who where securing their way in.
"Took you long enough to get back."
Leo rolled his eyes at Donnies words, before looking over at his youngest brother and friend.
"Where have you two been all this time?"
Mikey slide over towards the couch, as he pooped his elf down next to Donnie, wrapping his arm around his older brother as he spoke.
"Dudes, you literally won't believe what we saw!"
Both Leo and Donnie exchanged a look before they liked eyes on Mikey, already knowing that what we he wa about to say was going to be some crazy, unbelievable story judging by the excited tone in his voice.
"Oh yeah? What did you guys see out there?"
Before Mikey could even begin, Mondo hopped down onto the couch, accidently sending Mikey a few inches into the air and into the floor with a "thud"
"My bad Mike! But anyway, me and Mike where hanging around goofing on some roof right? And then all the sudden we see these big, purple robot looking things, in he alley below us, it looked like they where up to something, so me and Mike where about to jump the dudes, but once he made it down, they where already gone!
Then we found this weird glowing thing on the ground. We thought it could be some kind of mutagen."
Mondo spoke, before taking a wide tube shaped vile from his backpack, the vile was filled with a strange blue and pink, colored liquid.
Both Leo and Donnie looked at the vile in Mondo's hands, as they both seemed rather confused as to what they were looking at. For about 3 minutes of silence, Donnie was the first one to speak.
"That is strange. Where exactually was this alley you two saw these robots in?"
Mikey lifted himself off the floor as he spoke.
"That's the thing dude, they where in the far side of town, somewhere near the Shredders old lair"
Mikey explained, the very name nearly sending a shiver down his spine.
Both Leo and Donnie's eyes widened upon hearing "Shredder", their faces immediately gardening into more concerned and serious expressions. Shredder was a name that brought shivers down everyone who hears it spines. Shredder was an evil, power hungry man, who had once been their primary enemy for years before his death.
Just hearing and thinking about Shredder put them on edge.
Donnie closed his computer before standing up, taking the vile from Mondo and examined it.
"It might just be some sort of mutagen, Shredder had stored away, I'll take it to my lab for further examination."
Leo nodded in agreement, still focused on what Michealgelo had said about the robots being near Shredder old lair.
After Donnie has left, Master Splinter exited the dojo, the tall rat, grabbed onto his wooden cane, as he looked down at his two sons of Mondo a neutral expression on his face as he stepped over towards Mondo as he welcomed him.
"Good evening Mondo, what was all that commotion about?"
Mikey, Leo, and Mondo all liked uk at Splinter, as he approached them. Mikey was the first to speak, still rubbing his back from the fall he had sustained earlier.
"Hey Sensei! Me and MJ do where topside, when we suddenly had this interesting encounter with these robots near Shredders old lair."
Splinter expression quickly hardened when his to heat son mentioned being near Shredders old lair, a look of concern and anger already on his face a she spoke.
"what on earth where you two doing near the Shredders lair!?"
Mikey and Mondo shifted nervously as they both took a step back, the two already knew they where in for an intense lecture from Master Splinter, and yet Mikey was the one who decided to speak up again.
"We where just messing around, y'know? Then we saw some purple robots down in an alley, but before we could jump them, they where already gone! All except for that stuff we found" Mikey explained, while pointing towards Donnies Lab, where the vile was now in Donnie's possession.
Splinter simply hummed in response, as he walked over to Donnies Lab, carefully knocking on the metal doors.
"Donatello, may I come in?"
The sound of shuffling could be heard on the other side, before finally the doors opened, revaknn Donnie, who seemed like he was caught off guard by Splinters sudden appearance.
"..yes Sensei?" Donnie asked nervously.
"Your brother told me about this vile him and Mondo found. I was wondering if I could take a look at it."
Donnie nodded, stepping aside to let his father in. Kncd inside, they where greeted by the variety of machines, tech, and other unique looking inventions. Donnie walked over to his desk, picking up the vial, as he spoke.
Sure, I haven't really done a full examintion yet, but so far I can tell it's definitely some sort of mutagen" Donnie explained.
Right when Master Splinter was about to ask more questions, the ground shook below them for a few seconds, causing multiple things in Donnie's lab to shake, as multiple glass cases and bottles to fall to the floor with a 'clash!' just then outside of Donnies Lab, Raph's voice rang through the lair.
"What the hell is going on!?"
The sudden shaking managed tj startle everyone in the lair, including Leo, Mikey and Mondo, who where still in the main part of the lair. They all looked around, trying to figure out what was causing such an intense shift of the earth, assuming it was just an earthquake.
Leo looked over at Raph who was gripping onto the kitchen counter so he wouldn't fall.
"I have no idea, it must be some kind of earthquake!" Leo replied.
The "earthquake" lasted for about 6 minutes until it finally stopped, but their was a loud 'BOOM!' coming from the city streets above them, then came the sounds of sirens.
Raph: "...something's not right.."
The sounds of muffled commotion above ground only heightened everyone's sense of anxiety. Leo looked around at everyone with a serious and concerned expression on his face.
"Raph's right, something's definitely not right. We need to see what's going on out there"
As chaos rained from above, a huge mini swirl suddenly appeared right Infront of Leo's face, causing Leo to instantly back up. The swirl seems to be getting bigger and bigger,as it starts creating magnetic force, causing the 4 brothers and their rat father to be slowly pulled towards it. Everyone's eyes went wide with shock and horror as the massive swirling vortex grew larger in the center of the lair,. They all tried to fight against being pulled in, but the powerful force was just to strong.
Everyone clutched into anything they could find that was stationary, their eyes fixed on the vortex with fear.
"What the shell is that thing!?" Mikey yelled, his voice filled with panic.
Donnie tried using all his strength to reach for something skkdi, anything that could keep him grounded.
"It's some sort of magnetic field! But it's far more powerful than any portal I've ever seen!" Donnie yelled.
As they all continued to struggle against the intense pulling force of the portal, Leo and Raih kicked glances, silently communicating their worry and determination. Until Roach finally spoke up, his voice shouting over the howling winds.
"We've gotta keep going guys! We can't let that thing suck us in!"
The portal started spinning more and more rapidly, as if it was trying everything it could to pull them all in. Everyone was silent as they tried desperately to keep themselves from being pulled in, until Mikeys voice boomed through the intense atmosphere.
"Guys! I'm staring to lose my grip!"
"Me to dude!" Said Mondo.
Leo looked over at Mikey and Mondo, seeing the two struggle to maintain their grip. Leo gritted his teeth, knowing their ass nothing he could really do to help, a she shouted over the roaring vortex.
"Don't let go, guys! We're going to get through this!"
Eventually the force became too strong for the gang, as they all stres to be pulled in one by one. Each member cried out as they were instantly pulled into the vortex, heir bodied being lifted up off the ground, before being pulled into the swirling portal.
Master Splinter was the first to be sucked in, his fingers barely holding into the pipe before he was pulled in. Mikey and Mondo where soon next, their grips already weakening with each passing seconds, they managed to hold onto one another, but it wasn't enough and only added to the weight, as they were both shocked away.
Donnie tried holding on as long as he could, but the pull was just too strong. He grasped at the nearest pipe, using all of the rets of his strength to resist the vortex' intense pulling, as he spoke, in a quite stranded voice.
"I can't..hold on much longer."
Leo watched as his brothers, Mondo and Master Splinter where one by June drawn into the vortex, their cries ringing out in his ears. Leo could feel the pull of the vortex growing stronger, tugging at him, trying to suck him in too. Eventually Leo was finally pulled in after his arm finally gave out in him. As Leo was sucked into the portal, the world around him instantly blurred into a whirlwind of colors, the noise of the portal howled in his head, as he felt his body being flung around against his will. Leo tried to steady himself, but whatever force was dealing him in, was too strong to fight against. After what felt like an eternity inside the portal, Leo woke up strapped down to a wooden table in a dimly lit room.
Leo immediately tried getting out of the restraints around his wrist and ankles until an unfamiliar voice sounded from all around the room.
???: "Good, your not dead."
