Each story in this series starts in a different place in Susan Kay's Phantom, and each comes to it's own separate alternate ending without taking endings of the previous stories into account. That is, each story posits a "what if" from Phantom and follows each scenario to it's end.

Summary
The episode "Origin" never happened. No one but Angel knows who Connor really is. NFA happens, minus the Connor bits. The fic is set post-NFA in a post-apocalyptic world.
Focus is on Connor and Angel, with a good side of Spike. It's about fictional war and politics, derring-do and swashbucklingness, burdens of leadership, orders of command, warring factions, insubordination, that kind of thing, with a father and son at the heart of it.
