Work Text:
Kill him.
The voice is small, suggestive, warping Yoongi’s mind into- Yeah I should kill him. He probably deserves it. But then wait, no. What is he thinking? He doesn’t know this man and even if he did, who is he to decide who should live or die. He doesn’t know anything.
Kill him.
It’s the voice again, more suggestive. Luring Yoongi deeper, but he continues to fight back. He can’t just kill someone cause some voice in his head tells him to. That’s not right.
Kill him.
There’s a knife in his hand. The man’s eyes wide with terror; muffled screams filling the air. He trying to escape, but his legs and arms are bound tightly with rope. Duck tape over his mouth to keep him from calling out for help, not that he would be heard. It would be so easy to stab him.
Kill him.
Yoongi takes a step forward, body thrumming with the need to kill this man. He can’t fight back anymore and he doesn’t want to.
Kill him.
The knife plunges through the man’s heart. Bones cracking, blood dripping down his chest and off the knife. It’s a mess.
Drip, drip, drip
Blood is on his hands. The voice has quieted, but Yoongi knows it’ll be back. It’ll be back with another command. He’s their puppet now. They erased his old self and molded him into a doll- a puppet. Someone they could control, who get his hands dirty and keep theirs clean.
-
At first, nothing is different. Yoongi acts as usual if only a bit more moody and dangerous. Nothing too new, nothing that would concern Jungkook. He’ll disappear for nights, but Jungkook assumes he’s at the studio producing music. He never notices the missed smudge of blood on Yoongi’s wrist. The almost manic look he gets in his eyes.
Everything just seems normal. Jungkook lives on as a college student, ignoring the world around him and everyone telling him what he should do. What he should learn, where he should go and why. He’s determined to make his own path.
It was easier with Yoongi by his side. The elder’s gruff but soft demeanor something to keep him grounded. It’s safe with him, until it isn’t. Until the blood smudges become more noticeable, until the nights away become longer and longer, until Yoongi attempts to slit Jungkook’s throat.
-
He’s too close. He’s too close to their puppet; they have to get rid of him. He’ll notice and everything will come undone. If anyone could undo it, it’s Jungkook and they can’t have that. So he has to go. It will cement the control they have over Yoongi. Once Jungkook is gone, no one can bring Yoongi back, no matter what they try. He just has to kill one boy.
They thought he would do it. The knife would slice across, blood would flow down, the light would leave Jungkook’s eyes and they’re free. It doesn’t work. Instead, the knife slams into the wall right next to Jungkook’s head. It just grazes his cheek. A small scar will be left.
“Go!” is forced from Yoongi’s lips: weak and desperate. He can’t fight this voice, which is now accompanied with images, images of Jungkook dead in different ways running wild. He couldn’t break the control with strangers; he was floating through it all.
Those big scared doe eyes though; he can’t bring pain to them. He can’t bring pain to Jungkook. He isn’t the perfect puppet. Jungkook would always be his weakness and if he was dead, the grief would consume him.
So he makes Jungkook leaves. Planning for the younger to stay far far away from him. He has to stay safe, Yoongi isn’t safe and he doesn’t know how long he’ll stay in control. How long until the voice lures him back.
And Jungkook does, in a way. He’s everywhere now. Trailing behind Yoongi. Pulling him back from the voice with soft words. It works every time without fail. As Yoongi was Jungkook’s anchor in life, Jungkook is Yoongi’s.
They get upset though; they didn’t plan it this way. The doll that they corrupted so beautifully was weak. Pulled away from them with words from one boy. Now he could spill their secrets. Reveal who they are and they can’t have that. So they corrupt someone else. A new doll to play with that isn’t weak.
That doll’s first target: Min Yoongi and Jeon Jeonguk.
The couple is found days later in their apartment. Blood covering their mouths, multiple stab wounds, organs out of their bodies. It’s truly a gruesome sight, but their hands are tightly linked together. They went down, but they went down together.
