Hajime's heart sank as the words of the stuffed bear sank in. It seemed both like a nightmare and reality - it could only be a nightmare, and yet his limbs and body felt too solid, his vision was too sharp... And all he could think was, how did it go wrong so quickly? Just a minute ago, that other mascot character was acting nice and promising us a fun seaside vacation...
Heads turned, and he realized that same mascot had just arrived, padding towards Monobear defiantly. A desperate thought ran through his mind - maybe this creature can make things okay again.
"Don't worry, everyone," said the creature, swishing its tail through the air. "Monobear may be powerful, but we have a way to beat him. Now, if someone would just make a contract with me -"
