Chapter Text
Yoongi hated parties, hated the smell of beer that was always spilled where he just wanted to sit down for a while and escape the loud sounds of people he didn't really like. He hated the music, loud obnoxious pop with too much bass, and auto tune so strong the singer sounded like turkeys warbling over mixed beats. He hated parties but Namjoon liked Jin so he was here to be his wingman, or was supposed to be. Namjoon had left him at the front door in favour of the beautiful man the moment they got there. So here he was sitting in a beer soaked chair in pants way too tight and ready to snap at the next girl who asks to sleep with him. He was done.
"Didn't think they let underaged kids into parties like these." Yoongi was already snappy, already annoyed and not interested in being called a child at this very moment so he gave the only positive and polite response he could think of, his middle finger.
The man didn't seem to take his action with offence, rather he laughed and sat down beside him. He was not as beautiful as Jin, no one was, he had this innocent charm in his eyes but his smile said not to trust him with his address by the end of the night. Or maybe he would he just wasn't drunk enough yet for that type of friendship.
"Like seriously, how old are you kid?" The man, Hoseok, as he could recall hearing being shouted out to the guy earlier was pushing the wrong type of buttons and yoongi didn't like brats no matter how cute they were.
"Old enough that Jin-hyung is only my hyung by a short amount." he didn't care if the man knew Jin or not but people who dress like this guy and smiled like they know they're getting some tonight usually did, in fact, know Jin-hyung, and that was saying something.
"Ehhh, but like how old?" Yongi gave him a look that asked how stupid he was but sighed.
"I'm 26." Shock was evident on his face before that stupid (adorable) smile was back in place.
"Wow! Who would've guessed! What's your name hyung? I haven't seen you here at one of Jin's parties before, if I had I would have snatched you up earlier." Yoongi sighed through his nose, idiots like these were hard to get rid of.
"Yoongi, and stop acting like I'm yours to claim. Snatch me up? Be serious. I'm not a little whore you can pick up and discard later. Drunk or nah, I'm not going home with some little fuck boy who doesn't give a shit about me. So if you're here just to get into my pants, move along." He expected the man to get up and leave and was surprised when he didn’t.
Yoongi was known for being cold and even colder when he was irritated. He gave off an appearance that told others not to bother him, only a select few really got the chance to know there was a big heart under that cold outer shell he wore.
Hoseok looked at him with wide eyes before breaking out into laughter and a big heart shaped smile.
"I'm not looking to get into your pants tonight kitten, but I wouldn't mind grabbing you a drink or two, or four. you know, so I can keep talking to you." He stood up and offered his hand to Yoongi who scoffed and stood up himself.
"And what makes you think I'll drink anything you give me, might be drugged." He stuffed his hands into his sweater pocket but followed Hoseok regardless not really out off by the kitten comment, he's been called worse over the years.
"Do I really look like that kind of guy?" He laughed out
"Totally." But there wasn't much fire in his voice it was surprising they could even talk over this shitty music bouncing off every wall.
“But seriously, you’re an interesting guy Hyung I’m curious to know more about you.” And while Yoongi had said he wouldn’t take any drink Hoseok gave him he did down that shot a little too quickly the room began to sway a bit.
“Nothing much to know, hate this place, don’t want to be here, end of story.” He put his glass down onto the makeshift bar and waited for the other to down his own shot which he had put back down onto the table.
“Parties aren’t all bad hyung. Jin actually throws descent ones and he makes sure only alcohol get into places like this. No one’s going home drugged here, hell even weed is restricted in this joint and that shit’s not that bad.” he rambled on but Yoongi was only partially listening before subconsciously finishing off the shot Hoseok had left on the table.
“Thanks, don’t hold my liquor well.” He laughed sheepishly and maybe it was the alcohol or the smile this man had but Yoongi wanted to get out of this place , like right now.
“Let’s get out of here.” He said grabbing Hoseok’s hand who smirked at him playfully.
“Thought you said I wasn’t getting into our pants tonight.” with a roll of the eyes Yoongi dragged him out of the party and onto the street.
“You’re not, I just would prefer to talk to you without a pounding headache and I know a place close by where we can do that.” Hoseok chuckled as Yoongi interlaced their fingers together and pulled him along. The air was cool against their faces but the blush on Yoongi’s face kept him warm enough.
“Where in the world are you taking me hyung?” Hoseok asked but his smile was there and a warm feeling was in his chest even if Yoongi hadn’t really talked to him much since they left the party.
They walked a bit longer in silence before Hoseok saw a lighthouse in the short distance and while it was way past midnight Yoongi continued to pull him along.
“This is where I come to think when life gets noisy.” Yoongi whispered opening the door of the lighthouse and leading him up some sets of stairs. Once they reached the top Yoongi opened another door leading them outside to a viewing platform where they could look out over the black water. The cool breeze sobered them up some but not quiet enough to take away the light burning in their chests.
“You don’t smell like beer but you’re drunker than I am with all that I’ve had tonight.” It was an observation and really just something to say after all the silence.
“I’m a lightweight.” Hoseok chuckled scratching the back of his head but laughed some more. “You clearly didn’t want to be here tonight, so what’s keeping you? Why not just leave”
“Nam-fucking-joon and his obnoxious crush on Kim Seok Jin. Like he got me all dolled up and prepared to be his wingman or whatever then left me right there the moment we walked in. Like why even bring me if you’re just going to go and be your own fuckin wing man.” Yoongi didn’t usually drink but talking about how his best friend deserted him for a hot guy was making him miss the alcohol.
“And I thought I should stay close by incase things went south and he needed a good reason to escape.” He shrugged, taking a deep breath of ocean air closing his eyes. While it was dark the light from the lighthouse illuminated Yoongi’s blond hair and pale skin just right.
“You know, you’re a really good friend.” He said trying to keep his eyes off the beautiful man beside him but stole a few lingering glances any way.
“You say that now but I swear if you hear anything about a Namjoon going missing, or turning up dead, it wasn’t me.” He said it with all seriousness that Hoseok couldn’t help but laugh and loudly which caused a small smile to form onto Yoongi’s own face.
“You should come to more parties, I like you.” He bumped his shoulder into Yoongi’s who bumped back.
“Don’t get your hopes up I’m not into loud music and teenaged girls.” The moon was high in the sky and as fun as sitting here was with Hoseok he really just craved his bed.
“Let’s go, I’m tired and want to get home, I’ve had enough for one night.” He didn’t really wait for Hoseok but knew he’d be following behind.
“What about your Namjoon friend? Weren’t you worried about him?” Hoseok closed the door behind him and followed down the stairs hearing Yoongi’s laugh echo off the walls.
“It’s nearly 4 in the morning, he’s either dead by now or begging for Jin and honestly I don’t want to be responsible for a dead body tonight and walking in on Joon and Jin isn’t really my thing, ya know?” He made it down the stairs faster than he thought they would and as tired as Hoseok was he didn’t want to let Yoongi go just yet.
“I feel like I’ve known you forever but we’ve just met. Would you allow me to take you home?” Hoseok did a mock bow but Yoongi laughed showing a gummy smile Hoseok didn’t know the man was hiding.
“Didn’t I say I wasn’t letting a fuck boy take me home tonight?” He asked and Hoseok smiled.
“Never said I was one.” wanting to do just about anything to keep that cute gummy smile on Yoongi’s face.
“Then what are you Hoseok?”
“Well, My friends call me Hobi and I was hoping we could be friends and if I play my cards right possibly more.” He wanted to take hold of Yoongi’s hand but held himself back.
“I’m not easy to fall for. I promise I might hurt you.” Hoseok had fallen into step with Yoongi not wanting to let him out of sight just yet.
“And I promise not to take that personally, falling for someone is never easy Hyung.”
“On the contrary, falling is the easiest part it’s everything else that’s hard.” Yoongi said his gummy smile was now just a small smile but it was everything to Hoseok
“I’ll never know if I don’t try.” They walked quietly just enjoying each other’s company before Yoongi stopped walking.
“This is it, I have to say this is the fastest I’ve ever truly sobered up before.” He laughed and Hoseok smiled with him.
“I really only had two beers so I can’t say much but I did mean what I said, I want to be friends Hyung and if you give me the chance we could even work to becoming more.” Yoongi searched his eyes before digging around in his pockets for a pen he always kept on himself.
“What are you doing?” Hoseok asked as Yoongi suddenly grabbed his hand and flipped it over to show his palm.
“Giving you my number what does it look like?” He scribbled his name and digits onto Hoseok’s hand before putting his pen away and smiled.
“Why do you have a pen on you casually?” He asked observing his hand carefully memorizing the number just in case.
“I’m studying to be a producer I need my pen in case something inspires me to write. Add my number or don’t that’s up to you, but if you’re truly serious about us I guess I’ll be hearing more from you, hmm?” He stepped back and really looked at Hoseok, he was hot with his light brown hair that matched his eyes and smile that made his face light up. Yoongi would be blind not to want him.
“And here you were saying you hated music.” he chuckled looking away from his hand finally.
“I didn’t say I hated music idiot, I said I hated loud music and the shit they were playing at that so called party was not even classified as music that was just noise strung together with rhyming words.”
“Alright Mister producer, thank you for tonight regardless.” he was going to let Hoseok go he really was. He didn’t know just what had overcome him but in that moment he stepped forward into Hoseok’s space put his hand on his cheek and kissed him. Hoseok stiffened at first but soon relaxed into the kiss returning it with favour. When they pulled away Yoongi was blushing but gave a small smile, keeping eye contact with Hoseok he pulled away letting his hand fall to his side.
“Thanks for tonight Hobi, it was fun. Text me later.” He turned and waved as a blushing Hoseok stood there touching his lips and smiling softly. As Yoongi walked the rest of his way home.
“You should be more careful hyung, a kiss like that can leave a man craving for more.”
