Notes:

Thanks to my boo WhiteBlossom for the lend of her eyes and brain else this story would not have a damn title. And thanks to everyone in the KakaSaku discord who... well they know what they did and continue to do.

Work Text:

Sweat clung to every bit of Sakura’s body, and the only thing she wanted to do was strip off her clothes, hop into the bath and scrub her skin and hair clean. The tightly packed train didn’t help matters, but the cool night air was a boon and she inhaled deeply on her walk home.

Thoughts of dinner, her bathtub and bed were heavy on her mind as she trudged down the darkened street. It was late and few people were out, but Sakura immediately took notice of two young men lingering in the shadows.

The walk to her house seemed uneventful, only Sakura noticed a set of two additional footsteps not far behind.

I’m not in the mood for this shit tonight, she sighed inwardly.

Just as she suspected, one of the young men was bold enough to approach her in the poorly lit street.

“Are we really going to do this tonight?” Sakura asked, not caring enough to beat around the bush. Then she was distracted by a glint of metal out the corner of her eye and her tone changed. “Please don’t hurt me.”

“Just give us your bag and we’ll let you go on your way,” the taller of the boys told her.

Sakura sidestepped and motioned towards her bag. A split second later, the boy behind her went flying as a foot hit his face, and the other found himself disarmed and pinned to the pavement with his own knife directed at the back of his head.

“Children shouldn’t play with sharp things,” Sakura hissed, digging her knee in his lower back harder when he tried to wriggle free. “Before I let you go, I’m going to give you a bit of advice—if you’re going to try and bring a buddy along to do dirt, at least make sure they aren’t the sort to leave you alone when things get hairy.”

She heard the boy swallow hard when he honed in on the sound of his friend scampering away.

“Nice friend you have there,” Sakura continued dryly. “Now I’m tired and I need a shower and food so I’m going to let you up. But I promise if I see your face around here again, I’ll break it into a thousand pieces. And believe me, I’m skilled enough to know where to hit. Do you understand?”

“Y-yes!”

“Good.” Sakura moved out of place and swiftly rose to her feet. She smirked while watching the boy stand up on unsteady feet as she twirled his knife around in her hand. “What a piece of shit,” she commented, chuckling at the dull blade. “What did you think you would do with this? I can’t even cut cheese with this thing.”

The boy didn’t want around to try and reclaim his knife. He hauled ass in the opposite direction, leaving behind a laughing Sakura.

It’s so nice to have the day off, Sakura, listening to the rain beat against her windows as she stretched and balled herself back in her blankets. Her place was tidy and she didn’t need to go grocery shopping, which meant that she could stay in bed for as long as possible and only leave to eat or use the bathroom.

She put on a movie after making a late breakfast and tucked a pillow beneath her head. Just then she realized the familiar weight of the necklace her father had given her was absent, and Sakura wondered if she’d dropped it somewhere. A quick search yielded no necklace, and she yelled upon realizing that it probably fell off during her fight last night.

“Shit!” she swore loudly, hoping her beloved necklace hadn’t been picked up by some stranger.

Her fears were confirmed after hastily dressing and dashing down the street where she fought off her attackers. A few passersby looked curious as she bent over and combed every bit of the street, but her efforts were fruitless.

“Well, that’s that,” she mumbled unhappily before trudging back home.

The missing necklace put a damper on the rest of her day, but by nightfall Sakura felt a little more resigned. Her mood improved after a bath and her favorite dinner, and she had just settled into bed with a book when she heard a knock on the door.

“Who the hell—?!” she snapped, wondering who was bold enough to come calling at nearly ten at night. After throwing on a robe and getting her trusty short tantō that was given to her by her friend TenTen, who believed all women needed to own at least one weapon, Sakura cracked open her door.  “Yes?” she called impatiently, peering through to see a man standing back far enough to not be a threat.

“Yeah, I know this is creepy and all, me showing up here like this but you dropped this last night,” he said casually, holding up her necklace.

“Wait, how did you—?” she began before telling herself not to be rude, even if this situation was weird as hell. “Thank you.”

Sakura opened her door a little more, still maintaining her grip on the knife while waiting for the man to step forward.

Once he was closer, she realized he was quite tall with a shock of silver hair that held no fear of gravity or styling product. In the light it was hard to tell what color his eyes were, but they gave the impression of someone who looked perpetually sleepy. A scar ran down his left eyebrow, over his eyelid and down his cheek, disappearing beneath a black mask that completely covered the lower half of his face.  His clothes were also all black—jeans, boots, leather jacket and what looked like a button-up shirt. A hint of cherry and tobacco clung to him, and normally Sakura hated the scent of smoke on people but on him it managed to be alluring.

“Did you see me drop this?” she asked, taking her necklace from his outstretched hand that was covered in black leather gloves that exposed long fingers. He shrugged and shoved his hands into both pockets, and that made her frown. “So you saw those two assholes trying to rob me?”

“I did,” he countered evenly, “and I would have stepped in but it looked like you were handling things just fine.”

“Yeah,” Sakura nodded, her temper deflating. “You got me there.”

“Curious though, what kind of knife do you have on the other side of that door?”

Sakura smirked and brought the hand clutching her weapon into view.

“Nice,” he replied, looking without touching.

“You know, it’s funny but I get the impression that I’ve seen you before,” Sakura told him, narrowing her eyes. “Have you visited a hospital lately by any chance?”

“Nah, that’s one place I try to avoid,” he said dismissively. “Are you a doctor or something?”

“Or something.”

“Right. When’s the last time you’ve been to an izakaya?”

“I’m assuming you mean actually going inside to have a drink and food instead of merely walking past one on my way home from work,” she replied, sounding somewhat mournful. “I couldn’t tell you; it’s been a while.”

“Do you ever visit the one next to the dango shop?”

“Habutae Dango? I’ve passed it a bunch but only on the way to get dango. It’s been a while since I had any though. They’re either closed or sold out by the time I finish work and then on my days off, I’m usually too tired to drag myself over there.”

“Hmm. Maybe I’ll see you around there one day. But I’m off, I just wanted to return your necklace. Have a good night.”

Before Sakura could say anything else, the man stepped away from her doorway and gave a little wave before disappearing into the night.

“Well, that was… weird,” she muttered while locking the door, even though she was grateful to have her necklace again.

Sakura wondered if she would ever see the odd man again. She was somewhat disappointed that she didn’t get his name, and resigned herself to fact that she might never know who he was.

Resigned, however, was the wrong word because she then wondered how he knew where she lived. Had he followed her that night? Why didn’t he say anything at the time? And was he lurking about when she wasn’t home?

Even though she told herself the latter was unlikely, the idea alone left her creeped out.

A few months passed and nothing happened. Sakura never saw the man again and she chalked up the whole experience to a weird one-time occurrence.

She soon learned that the odd meeting would repeat itself.

Sakura had settled into bed with a book when she heard someone knocking at her door. It was rather late for a social call but her friends knew to call her if they wanted to visit. Yet intuition set her nerves on edge and she went to her door anyway, knife in hand.

“Oh, it’s you,” she replied, finding the man with the mask and wild silver hair standing there. He stood unnaturally still but the hint of distress in his dark eyes let Sakura know that something was wrong. “What happened?”

“Yeah, I know it’s rude to be showing up like this, but I could use your help. You said you’re a doctor, right?”

“Or something,” Sakura reminded him, easing the hold on her tantō. “Why?”

“My friend could use your help,” he told her. “I can’t really take him to the hospital; too many questions and formalities.”

“Let me guess, you want my help but you also don’t want me to ask questions. Did I get it right?”

“Yes.”

“All right, fine. But you do realize I don’t even know your name. How do I know you’re not trying to lure me somewhere and hack my body into little bits?”

The man had the nerve to shove both hands into his pockets and chuckle. “That isn’t really my style and besides, I wouldn’t do that to you.”

“So you’d do it to someone else?” Sakura quipped, raising an eyebrow when he neither confirmed nor denied her statement.

“How about I tell you more about myself as we walk? You can bring your tantō if it makes you feel better but I promise you won’t need it.”

Sakura paused for a moment, debating on whether or not to go with him.

“I’ll go with you,” she conceded, determining that the situation felt bizarre but non-threatening. “I need to get dressed first though.”

When she stepped back to let him inside, the man looked a tiny bit surprised but quickly recovered and walked into her genken. Sakura swept past him as he bent to remove his boots. It took her a few minutes to slip on the sweatshirt she’d worn earlier and a pair of leggings. By the time she came back downstairs, she found Kakashi standing in her living room, looking at her framed photographs scattered throughout.

“I should have asked this, but how badly hurt is your friend?” she asked while placing her hair in a messy ponytail and putting on a jacket. “I keep a first aid kit on hand but it might not have everything.”

“You don’t need to worry about that,” the man replied, holding up a gloved hand. “That’s already been taken care of. What we need is someone with the skill since our usual person is unavailable.”

“O…kay.”

Sakura maintained a frown as they put on their shoes and left her house. A cool breeze swept across the back of her exposed neck and made her shiver slightly.

“I’m going to uphold my end of the bargain, but I do want to point out that I don’t know your name either,” the man told her, breaking Sakura from her thoughts.

“Hm, you’re right. Sakura, Haruno Sakura.”

“Hatake Kakashi. What would you like to know?”

“Your age, blood type, name of your pet and if you have a secret wife who is going to want to fight me for being out with her husband at eleven at night. Things like that.”

“Nice to see you start with the easy stuff,” Kakashi replied, clearly grinning beneath his mask. “Thirty-eight, type O, Pakkun, Bull, Urushi, Shiba, Bisuke, Akino, Ūhei, Guruko, and no secret wife, girlfriend or lover. What about you?”

“Pakkun, Bull, Urushi… wait a minute, are those—cats?”

“Dogs.”

“You have eight dogs?”

“Yes. Why, is that odd?”

It was Sakura’s turn to laugh. “No, I guess not if you love dogs. As for me, twenty-four, same as you, and no pets.”

“Oh, we have the same blood type? That’s good to know. And what about a secret boyfriend or husband?”

The way Sakura’s face pinched into a sour look did not go unnoticed.

“Nope.”

“Good to know,” Kakashi replied lightly, not pressing the issue. “He would have had a bad night.”

That erased the sour look on Sakura’s face and her lips stretched back into a smile.

Their walk didn’t take long and soon Sakura found herself walking through the doors to a warmly lit izakaya, the very one next to her favorite dango shop.

“Oi, Bakashi! I thought you were going to find help, not a girlfriend,” a loud voice immediately rang out.

“I’m the idiot yet you’re the one sitting there bleeding all over my damn bar?’ Kakashi griped as he led Sakura further inside. “Where are your manners?”

Working in a hospital made it hard to be shocked at many things, yet the view of a handsome topless man perched over a table, his fingers holding onto a sake cup while a pretty woman with warm brown eyes and long brown hair sat behind him, looking pissed as she held a bloodied towel to his colorful tattoo-adorned back was not what she expected.

“The loud asshole there bleeding on my floor is Obito,” Kakashi told Sakura, pointing to the man with dark eyes, short spiky black hair, and a scarred face on the right side. “The nice one there with the brains in their relationship is Rin, and that’s Genma and Gai behind the bar. Everyone, this is Sakura and she’s here to stitch up shit-for-brains.”

Genma, who waved in her direction, wore a blue bandanna that held back shoulder-length brown hair and held what looked like a senbon between his teeth. Gai was tall with shiny black hair styled in a bowl haircut with thick eyebrows and a wide smile.

“Good evening,” Sakura greeted before turning to Kakashi. “Where’s the washroom?”

“Down there to your left,” he directed, pointing down a narrow corridor illuminated by small red wall lamps.

What the actual fuck? Sakura thought as she fumbled for the light switch in the washroom.

From outward appearances, Genma and Obito looked like the sort of men one would cross the street to avoid. Gai was just the opposite, and seemed out of place with his sunny disposition. Rin had a warm countenance but Sakura lived long enough to know that just because a person smiled didn’t mean they couldn’t slit your throat if necessary. She was proof of that; her pink hair and small frame immediately made some view her as weak, and offenders quickly found out that she was anything but vulnerable. As for Kakashi… she hadn’t yet quite figured him out.

One thing was for certain—this night was getting stranger and stranger, yet she was surprised by the urge to learn more about Kakashi and his motley crew.

When she returned to the group, she found that someone had laid out every bit of medical equipment she could need on one of the tables.

“Rin, right? Sorry, do you mind?” Sakura asked, awkwardly squeezing herself next to the couple.

“Not at all,” she replied cheerily, sliding over to allow Sakura space to sit.

“Yikes, someone did a number on you,” Sakura hummed as she slipped on a pair of latex gloves before carefully removing the towel from Obito’s back. A quick visual examination told her that sutures were needed only for the upper layer of his skin. “You need stitches, obviously, but also a course of antibiotics. Do you know the last time you had a tetanus booster?”

“This is nothing,” Obito told her cheerily, sounding unconcerned. “You should see the other guy.”

“Obito! Don’t scare her,” Rin chastised from the side.

“Sorry, sorry. I had a tetanus shot a few months ago.”

“Okay, that’s good. You’ll just need the antibiotics.” Sakura easily found everything she needed on the trays and soon had Obito’s back cleaned and numbed.

“Kakashi, her touch is better than the old man,” Obito shouted across the bar. “You should keep her on the payroll instead.”

Kakashi had been in the middle of chatting with Genma and Gai at a nearby table and made it obvious that he was ignoring Obito.

“Bakashi, I won’t be ignored. Bakashi!”

“Sakura, I know you came to stitch his back but do you think you can do something about his mouth?” Genma asked without missing a beat. Everyone laughed except Obito, who pretended to be hurt but the smirk on his face was obvious.

It didn’t take long for Sakura to finish her work. She was curious about how Obito got cut in the first place but decided that she didn’t want to know. The tattoos alone made it obvious that Kakashi, Obito and the others were into a world she was not privy to, and Sakura figured the less she knew the better. Surprisingly enough they were nothing like she would have expected, as their personalities eerily reminded her of her old school mates. Part of her reasoned she ought to feel somewhat wary about the entire situation but aside from Obito’s predicament, she enjoyed the company of the lively group.

“This is usually what we’d pay for this sort of thing, but I think double since I pulled you out of bed,” Kakashi replied once she returned from washing her hands again, passing Rin an envelope to give Sakura.

When she opened it and found a thick stack of notes, her face went white.

“No, no no,” she replied, sliding it back across the table without noticing the curious looks her action garnered. “I’m glad I was able to help. And please don’t take this the wrong way, but this is the most socializing I’ve done in ages. Aside from Obito getting slashed, I have to admit that tonight wasn’t bad.”

“How did you two meet anyway?” Genma asked.

“I watched her take down two brats who tried to rob her,” Kakashi explained, smirking through his mask.

“What?!” Gai yelled, his eyes widened as he stared from Sakura to Kakashi.

“Key word is tried, Gai,” Kakashi told him, exasperated. “One ate gravel and the other ran away screaming into the night.”

“I still can’t believe the knife I took off that kid,” Sakura laughed. “It was about as sharp as a spoon.”

“Kakashi, I like her. You have to bring her around again,” Rin told him with a grin. “You have to have a drink with me before you go,” she said, turning to Sakura.

“Well, it’s sort of late already…”

“Please? At least one drink. Please tell me you like sweet stuff. All these clowns drink is sake and it tastes like antiseptic. No one ever wants to have a cute drink with me.”

“That’s because we don’t feel like swallowing a bag of sugar,” Genma drawled, senbon bobbing between his teeth as he spoke.

“Ladies! Allow me,’’ Gai said in a booming voice, moving from the table and behind the bar in a blur of black and green.

Sakura didn’t get to admit to having a sweet tooth. There was no need because as it turned out, Gai made drinks that were as cute as they were tasty.

“It’s good, right?” Rin enthused, leaning her face forward to reach her straw, the way a child would do while drinking a juice box without holding it. “Now you definitely have to come back.”

“Yeah, I think I will,” Sakura told her, forcing herself to not suck down her cocktail in a few sips. “I don’t think I could get this anywhere else, much less make it on my own.”

“There isn’t much call for these kinds of drinks with the regular crowd, but Gai prefers making this sort of thing,” Rin told her, picking up the fruit slice garnish and biting into it. “It allows him to express his creative side. He’s not bad in the kitchen either, but you’ll find out when you come back.”

The two young women remained engrossed in conversation. Rin asked for a repeat of the story about how she and Kakashi met, and laughed when she heard how Sakura scared off her muggers. Rin also pulled out her phone to show pictures of her and Obito’s three cats, and was sad when Sakura told her she didn’t have any pets.

“The only thing I could have is a pet rock,” Sakura explained ruefully. “It wouldn’t get pissed off when I’m pulling doubles at the hospital and cause it to miss meals.”

“Well, I’m sure you can visit Kakashi and his eight dogs,” Rin offered. “But watch out for Bull; he’s the biggest one but thinks he’s a tiny lapdog.”

“I still can’t believe he has eight dogs,” Sakura mused. “How the hell do you walk eight at one time? Seems like a rowdy afternoon.”

“They’re actually pretty well behaved. It’s the cats you have to worry about; they don’t give a shit about anything. And Obito doesn’t even care. He spoils them all.

Just then, Obito sneezed and he shot a suspicious glare in Rin and Sakura’s direction once he recovered.

“She’s talking about me, isn’t she?” he asked Sakura, pointing to his girlfriend.

Sakura laughed and pretended to not get involved, but Rin immediately piped up.

“You’re damn right I am, Uchiha! I’m telling her how you spoil our cats and had the nerve to console Kiiro even after she peed on my slippers!”

“Who told you to leave your slippers where Kiiro could get to them?” Obito asked, causing Rin to reach over and lightly kick his knee.

“Mom and Dad are fighting again,” Kakashi told Sakura when he caught her eye. “By the way, let me know when you’re ready to go. I don’t want you to feel obligated to stay longer than you intended.”

“No, she can’t leave yet!” Rin told him, clutching onto Sakura’s arm to keep her in place. “We have to have another drink.”

“I better not drink too much,” Sakura told her, even as she mournfully eyed her empty glass. “I need to be able to walk home.”

“You’ll be with Kakashi; trust me, you’ll be fine. Gai! Can you make us a couple more please?”

“You bet!” he replied cheerily, already behind the bar again and in the process of refilling two shakers.

It was after three in the morning when everyone decided they were ready to go home. Rin made Sakura exchange numbers with her before they parted ways, and soon she was on the way back home with Kakashi by her side.

“I still wish you would let me pay you,” he told her, hands in his pocket as they ambled down the street.

“Nah, I really didn’t mind,” Sakura told him. “Think of it as thanks for returning my necklace.”

“Pfft, that doesn’t count,” Kakashi insisted. “I guess I’ll just have to think of something good.”

He walked her all the way to her door, waiting to ensure that she was inside before turning to leave.

“You know, I’m sort of jealous Rin got your number before I did,” he admitted dolefully.

Sakura smiled and held out her hand. Kakashi handed over his phone and she keyed in her information.

“Feel free to use that to send me pictures of Pakkun and Bull and Bisuke,” she told him.

“What about my face?”

“Does that mean I get to see you without the mask?”

“Maybe. See ya!”

Sakura slept late the next day. When she woke up, there was a text message from Kakashi. When she opened her inbox, she found a photo of himself with his eyes exposed and the lower half of his face concealed by a small brown pug-like dog.

“Pakkun,” the message read.

Sakura laughed and asked what happened to the other seven dogs.

“I would have picked them up for a photo but the rest are too big,” Kakashi’s next message read.

‘Maybe I can see the rest in person,’ Sakura text back.

“Let me know when you’re free,” Kakashi replied.

“Well, that was easy,” Sakura mused, trying to fight back a smile.

Sakura met Kakashi’s pack sooner than she expected. He’d texted her one morning, asking if he could see her after work that day. She told him yes, and felt annoyed when time seemed to deliberately drag on. What she hadn’t anticipated was him picking her up from work, which was preferable to taking the train. He had her favorite dango waiting for her, and insisted that she eat them right then while they were still warm.

The plan had been for them to stop by his house so she could meet his dogs. Following that, they would meet up with everyone at the izakaya, but Sakura said she needed to stop by her house first for a change of clothes and a shower. In the end, she had such a good time with Kakashi’s dogs that she couldn’t bear to leave. They also didn’t want her to leave and as Rin warned, Bull took to her lap like a fish to water. Kakashi had to chase the large dog away so she could visit the restroom, and when she returned Pakkun draped himself across her lap.

“I try to spend time with you and my dogs demand all your attention,” he complained, glaring at his pug from the other end of the sofa.

The two never made it to the izakaya. They stayed on Kakashi’s sofa, chatting well past dinner time. He fixed them a quick meal and hours later when Sakura began yawning, he suggested that she take his bed for the night and he’d bring her home in the morning. She had been fine with that idea but suggested they share his bed. After using his shower and slipping into one of his shirts that dwarfed her small frame and smelled just like him, Sakura waited in Kakashi’s bed as he took a shower.

Bisuke had used the opportunity to slither his way into bed next to Sakura, and Kakashi found her petting him when he came into the bedroom.

“Bisuke, you know the rules. Just because Sakura’s here doesn’t mean things have changed.”

“Aww, but he’s so sweet,” Sakura pouted.

“Yeah, they’re all sweet until you wake up with drool and dog ass in your face,” Kakashi griped, snapping his fingers and causing Bisuke to whine before hopping down. The dog shot him a dejected look as he clambered out the bedroom.

“Do they usually do that?” Sakura asked, fighting back a laugh.

“What, misbehave when I have a beautiful woman in my bed?” he replied, turning off the light and getting into bed next to her. “No idea; today was the first time. The only woman who comes here is Rin, and that’s usually when she’s with Obito.”

“Oh!” So he thinks I’m beautiful? And does that mean he hasn’t brought anyone else here before? Interesting.

“Yeah, I’m not really into the habit of letting many people into my space.”

“It’s good to be picky.”

Sakura was still grinning from being called beautiful. Her smile remained as the two chatted until they both began yawning. Sakura drifted off first and when she woke up, she found that Bisuke had sneaked back into the room and settled atop her legs. Pakkun was between her and Kakashi, and Guruko lay at their feet. Sleeping near three dogs left her warm and cozy, but after a while it began to feel uncomfortably hot. It was that point when Kakashi woke up, grumbling about his bed feeling like a furnace and upon finding out why, chased them all out before firmly locking the bedroom door.

After that night the two saw one another whenever possible. Even on the days when Sakura didn’t want to stay out late, Kakashi would pick her up from work and see her home. Sometimes he stayed for dinner when she cooked or surprised her with takeout. If she didn’t have to work the next day, she’d go to the izakaya with him where she and his friends spent the night drinking and laughing until early hours of the morning.

“So are you two official yet or what?” Rin asked her one night when the guys were out of earshot.

“Official? We haven’t even kissed yet,” Sakura told her, somewhat sadly.

“What?! You’re kidding me,” Rin replied, aghast. “What are you two waiting for?”

Sakura shrugged as she toyed with the pineapple garnish on the glass of the sweet, cloudy blue cocktail Gai made for them.

“What if I push him away by being too forward?”

“Oh, Sakura. Between his shyness and your hesitance, it’s no wonder you found one another. Listen, if you kiss him first, I promise he won’t mind. But if you’re still unsure, just hold his hand when you get a chance and see what happens from there.”

“I guess it’s silly to be shy at this point,” Sakura mused. “We’ve shared a bed together already. But to sleep, literally just sleeping,” she added upon seeing Rin’s mouth stretch into a toothy grin.

“Oh, you are in there,” Rin told her. “In his… well let’s just say that the only people he’d trust to sleep nearby are in this room, with the exception of Obito. Well, he’d trust Obito with his life but not to sleep near only because my boyfriend sometimes reverts to a five-year-old and you might wake up with a penis drawn on your forehead.”

“He didn’t.”

“He did. And Kakashi beat his ass for it too. Genma got hit too because he instigated the whole thing.”

“I would say that I’m surprised but I’m not,” Sakura laughed. “But I do feel a little better now after talking to you. Thanks.”

"No worries. You two are cute together and I haven’t seen him this happy in a long time.”

After that, Sakura noticed that even when Kakashi wasn’t near her, often she would look up and when their eyes met, the smile beneath his mask was obvious. It was absurd to feel like a giggling schoolgirl from a mere smile, but she couldn’t help it. The last month had flown by and it felt as though she knew Kakashi for longer, and it was shockingly comfortable at how easy his presence in her life felt. Without realizing it, she would look forward to seeing him after work and spending time with him, even if for a few minutes.

Sakura had been perched comfortably at the table, smiling at the sight of Rin and Obito sitting close to one another. She had her head on his shoulder and they were holding hands, and every so often he would pause in between his conversation with Gai and Genma to kiss the top of her head, causing her cheeks to go pink. Obito was most definitely a clown, but it was clear that he was deeply in love with Rin and vice versa.

“Something tells me you’re ready to go.”

Sakura’s head swiveled around to find Kakashi seated next to her.

“They’re so cute together,” she said wistfully, a soppy smile on her face.

“Yeah, they are,” Kakashi agreed, casting a faint grin in their direction. “They’ve been together since we were kids and are inseparable to this day.”

“They’re so lucky.”

“And you’re so sleepy. Trust me, this table is not a comfortable place to sleep. I’ll get your jacket.”

After bidding everyone goodnight, the two began their quiet walk towards Sakura’s house. She was off work the next day and asked him to stay the night, and they settled on her sofa beneath a large fuzzy blanket to watch a movie. Remembering what Rin told her, Sakura moved closer and slid her hand into Kakashi’s. His palm and fingertips were slightly callused but warm, and its size completely engulfed hers. He used his thumb to trace along her wrist, and Sakura exhaled slowly as she rested her head against his shoulder.

“You okay?” he asked.

“Yes. You’re so warm.”

“And you’re always cold,” Kakashi pointed out, cupping both his large hands around hers. “I need to take you to a hot spring.”

“You’d go with me?”

“Yeah, why wouldn’t I?”

Sakura shrugged.

“I’m guessing you wanted to go before and someone else didn’t.”

“Yeah, sort of. I guess I could have gone with friends but it’s hard when everyone is already married with kids and you’re the only single one.”

“Well, you’ve got me now. You let me know when you have the time and we’ll go. We can ask Rin and Obito if you’d rather an onsen that isn’t co-ed. She’d be happy to hang out with you.”

“That sounds nice. I really like Rin, she’s so sweet.”

“Yeah, she is. She put up with our shit all these years.”

“You and your friends aren’t that bad.”

“That’s because we got too old for nonsense,” Kakashi chuckled. “But when we were brats? Oh boy.”

“Speaking of your younger self, did you always wear that?” Sakura asked, pointing to his mask.

“Yeah, since I was young. I have a good sense of smell; almost too good. Between that and allergies, I’m always sneezing or gagging from someone wearing too much perfume.”

“Oh, I hate that,” Sakura replied with a cringe. “I work with this woman who thinks it’s cute to wear what smells like an entire bottle of cheap perfume every day. She finally stopped after triggering a colleague’s asthma in the breakroom.”

“I hope this doesn’t sound weird, but that’s part of what drew me to you,” Kakashi replied, leaning ever so slightly into Sakura. “You don’t wear a lot of heavy perfumes but you smell good.”

“Um, what do I smell like?” she asked, swallowing hard when she noticed Kakashi’s masked face in close proximity to hers.

Kakashi moved in until Sakura felt the smooth black fabric covering the lower half of his face against her neck.

“Sweet,” he told her after lingering there long enough to send a thrill down her spine.

“I wasn’t expecting that word,” Sakura admitted. “Now if you said ‘alcohol’ or ‘disinfectant’…”

“You don’t smell like your work. You smell sweet. Kind of like when you walk past the sweets shop early in the morning when they’re still making everything. The air always smells delicious and it reminds me of you.”

“Well, you’ve sniffed me, now it’s my turn,” Sakura told him, moving the blanket to kneel upright on the sofa. She leaned close enough to Kakashi’s neck until his wild hair tickled her forehead. “You smell like tea...herbs… and tobacco.”

“Ah, you still smell that.” Kakashi looked mildly embarrassed. “I’ve been trying to not smoke around you.”

“Why?”

“Well with your work and all, I didn’t think you would approve.”

“I mean, yeah smoking’s not good for you but it doesn’t seem to be a habit.”

“It isn’t these days. I used to smoke a lot more long ago.”

“Oh. I’m glad to hear.”

Sakura shifted her weight to move back down the sofa, but paused when Kakashi placed a hand on her upper back.

“Umm, don’t move yet. If you don’t mind.”

Sakura stared into Kakashi’s dark grey eyes as the heat from his palm bled through the thin material of her shirt. His eyes, however, were focused on her lips and Sakura noticed.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing. I’m just thinking of a way to ask if I can kiss you.”

“Then I’ll think of a way to tell you yes.”

Nothing more needed to be said. Kakashi pulled down his mask in one quick tug, revealing a face so perfect it made her do a double take. There was little time to focus though, because Kakashi’s other hand curved around her cheek seconds before his lips met hers.

“I’ve been waiting to do that ever since you told me you didn’t have a boyfriend,” Kakashi murmured after giving her a series of small kisses, running his thumb across her bottom lip.

Sakura remained stunned, thoroughly shocked at how soft Kakashi’s lips felt. Before she knew it, she had both arms wound around his neck and closed the space between them while pressing her mouth against his.

Kakashi’s hands felt amazing as they ran over her back through her shirt, and his lips were even better against her neck. She quickly found herself growing aroused, and was unable to bite back her moan when Kakashi slid a hand into the back of her head and gently fisted her hair.

“You keep making sounds like that and we’re going to end up naked on the floor,” he told her in a sultry voice as his teeth lightly captured her earlobe.

“The sofa is softer,” Sakura gasped, biting her bottom lip when the hand in her hair tightened ever so slightly. “I’ve got a bedroom too.”

Kakashi didn’t utter a word as his fingers moved to the hem of Sakura’s shirt. He fluidly removed it and her bra in between kisses and nudged her to lay down. The dangling fabric of his mask and shirt were also removed, and Sakura barely had time to focus on the beautiful tattoos adorning his torso, back and shoulders before he covered her body with his.

It had been a long time since she’d been kissed, but never had she been kissed like this. Kakashi’s lips managed to set her blood aflame and Sakura found it increasingly difficult to control any part of her mind or body.

“Say the word and we’ll stop right here,” Kakashi told her, breathing heavily as he paused to wait for an answer, and she wondered if she seemed hesitant.

“I feel like I should be saying stop since we aren’t dating or anything, and because I’ve known you for such a short time, but…”

“If it means anything, I already know what I need to know,” Kakashi told her, stroking her cheek with the back of his fingers. “But I meant it when I said we can stop if you want to.”

It was hard to meet his eyes and Sakura kept her focus on the beauty mark on the left side of Kakashi’s chin. “I… I don’t want to stop.”

“Thank god.”

His tongue gently probed the seam of her lips, teasing Sakura’s mouth until her tongue met his. At the same time one hand moved between them to cup her breasts, and a thumb and forefinger quickly found a pebbled nipple.

“You feel as good as you smell,” Kakashi murmured, burying his face into her neck before moving lower to pepper her torso and belly with open-mouth kisses. Lower he went until his lips were beneath her bellybutton, veering close to the waistband of her leggings. He paused, as though waiting for confirmation and Sakura nodded.

It was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain control of her body. Sakura didn’t mean to grab Kakashi’s arm so hard and had to force herself to lighten her grip. That task was made more difficult when his hand slid into her leggings and wedged itself between her thighs.

She knew Kakashi’s hands were large and his fingers were thick yet elegant, and it was evident that he was skilled in many different areas when it came to using them. But what she hadn’t anticipated on was the mere touch of his palm pressing against her cotton-covered core making it hard to breathe.

The heat of Kakashi’s hand against her coupled with his masculine scent and strong arm keeping her pinned against his side left Sakura’s mind clouded. Her body behaved of its own volition and trembled each time his he moved, but when those clever fingers slipped down into her panties and rubbed ever so gently, Sakura realized too late that maintaining control was no longer an option.

“I… I think I’m—” she stammered, mind whirling with pleasure and in complete disbelief that the telltale signs of an orgasm were already this close.

“Hmm, good girl,” Kakashi whispered as he brushed his lips against hers.

His deep voice accompanying dark eyes staring into hers along with the pads of his fingers grazing her sensitive clitoris was enough to send Sakura flying over the edge. No sound came out her mouth as she clung to Kakashi while her body thrashed uncontrollably, her pussy throbbing and soaking his entire hand with her release.

It took a while for Sakura to come back down, and she didn’t realize her shaking thighs had clamped around Kakashi’s hand until her entire body went limp within his embrace.

“Oh my god…” she whispered, her face flaming hot as she tried to hide it in his neck.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, removing his wet hand from her pants and resting it along her hip.

Sakura shook her head and remained silent, too embarrassed to speak.

“Is it a secret?” he pressed in a whisper, leaning his head against hers.

“No,” Sakura answered, her words muffled against his skin. “No one’s ever made me… before. I haven’t even made myself get there so hard or so fast before.”

“There’s a first time for everything,” Kakashi replied patiently. “It’s not a reason to feel self-conscious.”

“It is when you’re my age.”

“That’s hardly a reason. Now this is probably the wrong moment to ask, but please tell me you have a condom.”

“Damn, I know I don’t,” Sakura replied, now on the verge of tears. “I never brought anyone home so there wasn’t really a use for them.”

“Damn it. Not even some leftover from that jackass ex of yours?”

“Definitely not but even if I did, six-year-old condoms probably aren’t a good idea.”

“No, I suppose not. Hmm, I have an idea.”

“You do?”

“Yes. Obito owes me a favor and I’m cashing in right now.”

That made Sakura forget about being embarrassed and she lifted her head to glare at him.

“Kakashi, are you really going to call your best friend to bring us condoms at midnight?”

“Listen, if that idiot can interrupt our evening to handle his bloody mess, then he can run a quick errand for us.”

“Okay, if you insist,” Sakura laughed as she stood up. “I’ll meet you in the bedroom.”

While Kakashi made his call, Sakura hurried to make sure that she didn’t have any dirty laundry on her floor. She also sent a quick text to Rin, apologizing for the reason that had Kakashi calling Obito at the late hour. Rin was confused and sent a bunch of question marks, but soon a series of laughing emoticons appeared, following a ‘it’s about time!’.

I guess she spoke to Obito, Sakura thought, utterly mortified.

“Obito says half an hour, and that’s assuming he doesn’t run into any grandmas who need help,” Kakashi announced as he walked into the bedroom.

Sakura had been sitting cross-legged atop her bed, still wearing her leggings but having added a t-shirt while they waited. She patted the space next to her and waited for Kakashi to sit.

“We might as well be comfortable while we wait,” he mused, slipping his shirt over his head to reveal a muscular physique that threatened to unhinge her jaw. As he turned to place his now neatly folded shirt on her dresser, he displayed an equally muscled, fully tattooed back.

“Oh, I got cold,” she murmured, looking down at her own shirt.

“I wasn’t hinting for you to take it off… yet,” Kakashi replied with a smirk as he sat next to her. “I only meant we didn’t have to sit up uncomfortably as though we’re waiting for our parents to come through the door.”

“Good point.”

In spite of the fact that Kakashi stayed the night at Sakura’s before, things still felt somewhat awkward on her behalf as she knew what would soon happen. She didn’t know how to act, yet she had no intention of stopping things. Kakashi got her so worked up that her orgasm kept replaying in her mind, and her wet underwear was a constant reminder of things to come. She was, however, curious about the tattoos adorning his body and her green eyes made it obvious.

“You can touch them if you like,” Kakashi offered, reaching for Sakura’s hand and placing it on his chest. He noticed the hint of pink dusting her cheeks but she shifted closer while taking in every detail.

“You have cherry blossoms,” she said quietly, now sitting behind him and running her fingers across his back.

“I do.”

Sakura continued running her fingertips along the inked flower petals adorning his right shoulder.

“They’re so pretty. How much did it hurt?”

“Some hurt more than others, but I got used to it. Why, were you thinking about getting one?”

“Oh no,” Sakura replied. “I’m horrible when it comes to pain. I know, the irony of me being a doctor and all, but I don’t handle it well. I passed out at work once and my friend Ino said it was a good thing I was unconscious else she wouldn’t have started my IV.”

“But an IV isn’t that bad.”

“I told you I don’t like pain.”

“Fair enough.”

Kakashi reached behind and tugged on Sakura’s wrist until she was next to him.  They lay down with her back to his chest and once she was relaxed in his arms, he began running his fingers through her hair. Their embrace was decidedly domestic, more akin to a couple who had been together for a while, and incongruous to their heated display on her sofa.

She tried to remember being held like this before and could not. After sex, Sasuke would retreat to his side of the bed and each time Sakura felt as though she was missing out on something. It took her a while to realize that she craved intimacy beyond penetration but didn’t know how to go about saying so. Then she wondered if Sasuke was just horrible when it came to that sort of thing and she took the initiative to hug him from behind in bed. He let her do so for a couple minutes then complained that it was too hot to touch before wriggling out her arms.

At the time Sakura thought the mature thing to do in a relationship was speak up when one’s needs weren’t being met. But part of her also wished that she didn’t have to spell out every little thing, that Sasuke would do things on his own because he wanted to and not because she had to point it out. In hindsight, that relationship was doomed from the start but Sakura had been too busy with viewing everything through rose-colored lenses to notice.

Being with Kakashi was the total opposite; she wasn’t an anxious mess around him, and it was nice to not feel as though she was constantly walking on eggshells. It was ironic considering his background as well as the short length of time they knew one another. To Sakura it felt longer and it was absurd how at ease she felt around him. She had the idea that it was the same for him, and that thought was reassuring.

“I want to ask you something but I don’t want you to feel embarrassed,” Kakashi suddenly said, and Sakura tensed slightly against him. “It’s not bad,” he added.

“All right,” she conceded, trying to ignore the growing knot in her stomach.

“You said tonight was the first time someone else made you come?”

“Ugh, I actually admitted that?” Sakura visibly cringed. “But yes, it’s true.”

“I see. What’s your ex’s name? I’ll pay him a visit and make him regret wasting your time.”

“No, don’t do that,” Sakura laughed. “I can’t get back my virginity but walking in on him screwing another girl was payback when I told him she was bored and faking it too since he couldn’t fuck or find the clitoris even with the use of a magnifying glass.”

Kakashi laughed loud and hard at that, and Sakura ended up joining him until her eyes were wet with tears.

“Now you really have to tell me his name.”

“Uchiha Sasuke. The little bastard.”

“Uchiha…Uchiha Sasuke. Does he have an older brother?”

“Yes, Itachi.”

Kakashi shook his head and chuckled. “They’re Obito’s cousins. Distant, I think. Itachi is cool but Sasuke is a pretentious little shit. Now I’m really glad you embarrassed him, even though it’s a shame it came at the expense of you walking in on that.”

“It’s fine,” Sakura told him, waving a dismissive hand as she turned over to lay on his chest. “I was pissed at first, then hurt and I wanted to beat his ass, but then I remembered that he wasn’t worth the energy.”

“Understandable. But what about afterwards, did you not meet anyone since? Not even a fling to get hot and heavy with?”

“The only thing I got hot and heavy with in the last six years is my hand and bed afterwards.”

“No judgement here because I can’t tell you when I last had a girlfriend or fling, but I am curious as to why.”

Sakura exhaled slowly as Kakashi’s fingers moved down to the base of her skull and rubbed in a way that made her melt atop his chest.

“You keep doing that and I’ll tell you anything,” she murmured. “I don’t trust easily and after that last fiasco I guess I never really opened myself to the idea of someone else, but having a packed work schedule doesn’t help either. What are your reasons?”

“The same as yours I think,” Kakashi answered after a moment of contemplation. “I get up, tend to my dogs, work, deal with idiots, laugh a bit with my friends and go home.”

“How do you relax?!”

“I read and go fishing. I walk the dogs and I also have a few plants.”

Vibrations coming from Kakashi’s pocket interrupted them, and he withdrew his phone and opened his text messages.

“Obito’s outside, I’ll be right back.”

Sakura nodded as she watched Kakashi move from her bed and put on his shirt and mask. She was mildly disappointed at how swiftly he dressed, because the view of him from behind was something to admire.

Kakashi returned in a few minutes and sat on the bed with a small bag in hand. He opened it, did a double take with narrowed eyes and clenched his fist.

“I’m going to choke him.”

“What? Why?” Sakura asked, taking the bag from him. She looked down to find a small pile of colorful candy wrappers along with a note that had Obito’s name and a sloppily drawn henohenomoheji. Just as she was about to tell Kakashi she’d help him get revenge, she realized there was a smaller bag inside that had been hidden beneath. Sakura pulled it out and found another note attached to it.

‘Just kidding! Rin made me give what you asked for,’ it read, and she opened that bag to find a box of condoms and a small bottle of lubricant.

“Wow, she even sent lube,” she said, blushing while handing Kakashi the note.

“That’s because she’s the considerate one in their relationship. I knew Obito was up to something when he stared at me too hard, making sure I saw his damn goofy grin from the car window.”

“You can’t choke him now, not after he came all the way over here.”

“All right, he’s safe for another day. Now can we pick up where we last left off?”

“Yeah, but… you don’t mind that I used to date your best friend’s cousin?”

Kakashi gave Sakura a lazy smile.

“I’m here with you now,” he told her. “His loss is my gain. So no, I don’t mind but if you don’t believe me, allow me to prove it.”

Sakura watched as Kakashi removed his shirt and mask, depositing them somewhere at the foot of the bed. The front of her shirt was tugged until she settled in his lap with her legs around his waist.

Kakashi’s kisses were slower, less frenzied this time. He stopped momentarily to remove her shirt, tossing it near his, and dragged his lips along the column of her neck down to her shoulder. His wiry arms had encircled her torso, keeping her pressed against his firm chest. Between her brain going foggy from his perfect kisses and being held in a way she never knew she needed, Sakura felt herself falling in deeper.

“Damn it, you’ve got me feeling like a horny teenager,” Kakashi interrupted with a groan, slipping one hand into the back of Sakura’s hair while his hips lightly jerked against hers. The sensation of a burgeoning erection was hard to ignore, and it made her clench.

“You and me both,” Sakura hummed, clutching onto Kakashi’s back and skimming her lips against the knot that was his Adam’s apple. She noticed his hands momentarily tightening their grip on her as she kissed his neck, and she repeated the action to see what else he would do.

It turned out that Kakashi’s neck was as sensitive as hers, along with his chest.

“I had plans and you’re making me forget them,” he suddenly interrupted with feigned accusation.

“What plans?”

“They involve you taking these off,” Kakashi replied, using two fingers to pluck at her leggings.

Sakura was surprised to feel a pang of nervousness, yet she was too aroused to deny her urges. She gave Kakashi a tiny nod and he kissed her as his hands moved to her hips.

“Lie down for me,” he murmured, waiting until Sakura’s head rested on a pillow before kneeling over her and taking his time to painstakingly remove her leggings and panties.

He didn’t immediately move between her legs the way she anticipated. Instead Kakashi placed his warm hands upon her breasts, kneading and massaging until her back was slightly arched. Her hips and thighs were given the same treatment, and she felt an odd mixture of relaxation and excitement.

Now he sat before Sakura, her legs around him but knees clamped together.

“Don’t be shy,” he coaxed, pressing on the tops of her knees. “Open wider for me; let me see you.”

Her heart thumped so fast Sakura hoped she wouldn’t get sick. But she did as Kakashi asked and forced her legs to move, hiding her face when his thumbs smoothed over the top of her mons.

Kakashi limited his touch to the outside for a while. His long fingers cupped and massaged the crease between pussy and thigh, and Sakura bit her lip while pressing herself into his touch.

“Hmm, so pretty,” he purred, running a fingertip down the damp cleft of her sex. He probed a bit deeper and immediately met the abundant slick of her arousal.

It was sort of discomforting to have someone up so close and personal to her most intimate area. Yet her inhibitions quickly dissolved when she felt the bed dip beneath her as Kakashi lay on his stomach between her spread thighs. His lips grazed the short, downy pink hair between her legs, kissing a pathf until he was just above her clitoris.

Having him near that sensitive bud without touching it left her writhing in anticipation, and Sakura almost forgot about being nervous over this new experience. Part of her wondered if Kakashi knew this was unchartered territory for her, or if the reason for his agonizingly slow teasing was meant for something else.

“I wanted to do this to you earlier, but you came too fast,” he murmured into her lightly quivering thigh.

“Sorry,” Sakura whispered, her words somewhat muffled from the arm she had thrown across her face.

“I’m not. I can’t wait to see you do that again.”

There was a tiny flicker of something against her, so light Sakura wasn’t sure if it was his finger or tongue. Then there was the unmistakable sensation of a hot, wet tongue swiping up her outer labia, and it made her hips jerk in his grasp.

“You okay?”

Too choked up to speak, Sakura nodded even though she wasn’t sure if Kakashi could see.

She assumed he did, because the next lick was more fruitful and parted her folds to give him access to the tender, moist flesh within.

Sakura wanted to scream and thrash about, and she had no idea what to do with her hands or legs. She didn’t know if she was meant to keep still or what, but her lower half trembled uncontrollably each time Kakashi caught her clitoris between his lips to give it a long, slow suck. The wet noises his mouth made were just as embarrassing as they were arousing and sounded loud, even when mingled with her heavy breathing.

Don’t pull his hair, don’t pull his hair, Sakura mentally coached herself, writhing and desperate with the need to grab something. It felt as though she was going to fall off the edge at any given moment, and Kakashi seemed to be on a mission to make sure she got there.

Seconds later Kakashi wrapped his arms around her thighs and pulled her closer to him. He kept her securely in place while using both thumbs to completely part her labia. That little move left all of her sensitive flesh exposed to his hot, wet mouth and Sakura shrieked when the flat side of his tongue simultaneously rubbed against her hole and clit. It took a minute of this to break her composure, and Sakura came so hard that she screamed while forgetting her self-imposed rule about not grabbing Kakashi’s hair.

He would have held on even if Sakura’s fingers weren’t clutched onto his head. Kakashi kept his mouth attached to her convulsing pussy, earning a soaking wet face as she yelled and writhed and bucked against him. Only after her body fell slack did he let go, using the opportunity to slide off the bed and get rid of his jeans and boxers. He made short work of opening the box of condoms and sat next to Sakura, who was still breathing heavily with her eyes closed and trembling limbs splayed atop her rumpled bedding.

“Are you asleep?”

“No, just trying to regain the feeling in my legs.”

“If I were the sort to have an ego, it would be well and truly inflated by now.”

“I’m glad you don’t,” Sakura replied, turning her head to focus her green eyes on Kakashi. “You’d be like every other brat and that is a turn-off.”

“Yeah, you have a point.”

As Kakashi spoke he made his way between Sakura’s thighs and lowered his head for a kiss. At first, she looked somewhat nervous upon feeling his fully naked body against hers. Yet a gentle kiss was enough to make her eyes slowly close as she became lost in his soft lips touching hers, but when she felt his hand slip down between her thighs she moaned into his mouth. Two long, thick fingers teased her sensitive flesh before easing inside, curving to press into a tender spot that made her go rigid beneath him.

When he paused to look down at Sakura, unsure if she wanted to keep going or stop, she arched her hips up into his.

“Don’t stop,” she told him in a voice filled with breathless urgency.

Slowly and deliberately he stroked her insides, causing Sakura to at first try and muffle her sounds behind clamped lips. However, her hands clutching onto the sheets along with her quivering belly and tightly puckered nipples gave away her state of arousal. Her hips writhed along with Kakashi’s hand, beckoning him to break the too-slow pace that had her frantic with the need for more.

Sakura couldn’t remember ever being so worked up, and she was seconds from begging Kakashi to stop his teasing and make her come. His fingers felt amazing and she was dying to know if the sex would be as good as the foreplay.

“Do you like that?”

“Yes.”

“Then why are you holding back?”

“Because I feel like I’m going to scream.”

“Hmm. What else do you feel?”

Sakura bit her bottom lip as Kakashi’s fingers shifted and made her lower half tremble.

“It feels like I’m going to fly apart. Like I need more or I’ll die.”

“That means I’m doing it right.”

Sakura’s mind was so foggy with the need for release that she barely noticed Kakashi shifting on the bed to kneel over her. He grabbed onto her headboard with his free hand and once he had the proper leverage, the speed and angle of his hand shifted slightly but the result was so unexpectedly intense that it made Sakura’s watering eyes fly open.

“Stop holding back and come for me,” he told her in a dark, rich tone before lowering his head to capture an erect nipple between his lips in a way that sent another jolt to her nethers.

Her walls were steadily contracting around his fingers and the sound of her wet flesh was audible, yet none of that mattered as the only thing Sakura could focus on was her impending orgasm.

Every bit of her was wrought with tension but a clever thumb suddenly swiping over her engorged clitoris was the straw to break the camel’s back, and Sakura’s body dissolved into shivers so fierce that Kakashi had to put forth an effort to keep his hand in place.

“Oh… Damn,” Sakura whispered once she was able to speak. Kakashi carefully slipped his fingers from her still spasming body and kissed his way up her chest, leaving a soft peck on her lips. Once she was coherent enough to kiss back, she opened her eyes to look up at Kakashi, and found that he was looking back at her. “I want more,” she told him in a worn out voice.

“Of my hand?”

“No, this.”

She indicated ‘this’ by reaching down between them to feel his erection, and her green eyes widened with apprehension at the thickness she couldn’t wrap her fingers around.

“I hate to sound like some poorly written romance novel, but is that going to fit?”

Kakashi chuckled, but it wasn’t a mocking sound.

“I’ll be gentle. Remember we also have this,” he continued, reaching over for the bottle of lube he’d left next to the condoms on her nightstand.

Sakura tried to steady her breathing as she watched Kakashi open the bottle and pour a liberal amount of the clear, slippery fluid onto his fingers. Carefully he spread the stuff in and around her, repeating the process a few times before rolling on a condom and coating his latex-covered cock with the lube.

As comfortable as she was with Kakashi, it was still somewhat awkward to be naked and splayed before him. It seemed absurd to be embarrassed at this point seeing as she came twice on his hand and once in his mouth, but she reasoned it was normal since things were still new. She wondered if he sensed her nervousness because he began soothingly stroking her hip while his other hand grasped his erection to slide it against her a few times before nudging forward.

Her own wetness mingled with the lube was still no match for Sakura’s long period of unintended celibacy. It also didn’t matter how eager she was to accept Kakashi inside her, because her body had a mind of its own. He attempted a shallow penetration and was immediately stopped by the sensation of being squeezed to the point of discomfort. That strangled feeling accompanied a sharp cry from Sakura, and he looked down to find her delicate features twisted in a grimace.

“Damn it, I feel like I’m hurting you.”

“Umm…”

Part of her wanted him to stop but her hormones screamed for him to keep going. She just wished her body would get the memo.

“Ah, you sure you’ve done this before?”

He’d mostly meant it as a joke, but Sakura’s flushed cheeks made him wonder if he went too far.

“He wasn’t as…” she trailed off, wondering if this was an appropriate time to bring up comparisons. “You’re bigger down there.”

Too big indeed! She felt like she was being torn apart.

“Okay, let’s try it this way.”

Kakashi lay closer to Sakura and guided his arms beneath her knees. She used that opportunity to slip her arms around his neck and leaned up for a kiss, sliding a hand into his hair. Their kiss was broken momentarily when he had to realign himself with her entrance and began his painstaking penetration.

The burn was still present but the slight tilt of her hips against hips made things bearable. Yes, being stretched also still hurt but this time a hint of pleasure lie beneath, and Sakura was desperate to know if there was more. Yet a second later she was distracted when Kakashi broke their kiss and groaned into her neck.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, worried that he wasn’t enjoying himself.

“Nothing. You feel good, too damn good in fact.”

His hips were finally all the way against hers, and the feel of him buried so deeply within her was overwhelming. Every time she squeezed, Kakashi’s body trembled against her and finally he moaned while giving a tiny, sharp thrust.

“Fuck, did that hurt? Sorry,” he apologized when Sakura gasped.

“No, it felt good. Do that again.”

Kakashi experimented with a few short thrusts and when Sakura didn’t stop him, he withdrew almost all the way before sliding back in until the tip of his cock could go no further. The slow measure of his hips coupled with the drag of his thickness against her tender walls had Sakura’s mouth gaped open, her fingers digging into his shoulders deep enough to wring the ink from his tattoos. Her breathing came in short spurts against his skin and it was almost too much for her to handle but she thought she’d die if he were to stop.

Her prior experience with sex consisted of Sasuke rutting against her so fast that it felt more uncomfortable than anything. Even during their first time he’d gone way too fast, even after she pleaded for him to slow down and seconds later when they were done, he got mad upon finding blood on his sheets. That should have been enough for her to dump him then, but foolishness and hormones made her stick around. She quickly found out that sleeping with him would get no better; the friction had been all off and no matter how she moved or wriggled, it had been hard to feel something. The few times she did feel the stirrings of something he came too fast, and when she wanted it to done, he took forever to get there. Foreplay had been practically nonexistent and the only thing Sakura liked about sex was the part when it was over.

But now? It was the complete opposite.

It turned out that the sex was as good as, if not better, than the foreplay. Both left Sakura wild with need, but this time the ache was deeper. She was in awe at how well Kakashi knew her body and she never wanted this to end.

“You’re still holding back.”

“No, I’m not.”

“You are.” Before Sakura could protest again, Kakashi pushed her to lay on her side and brought up her top leg to rest against his shoulder. He held both her wrists above her head with one hand and in a single stroke, thrust back into her so deeply she forgot to breathe for a moment. She was well and truly pinned in place and knowing that increased her arousal tenfold.

Kakashi resumed fucking her, slowly grinding his hips in a way that made her feel it everywhere. His free hand toyed with her erect nipples before eventually making its way to her neck, and Sakura leaned her head back to encourage him to keep it there. The heavy slaps of his hips against hers, coupled with his pubic bone scraping her swollen clitoris had her delirious with pleasure, but when the fingers tightened around her throat with the perfect pressure, Sakura bucked hard against Kakashi as an orgasm slammed into her.

At first no sound came from her throat despite her gaped mouth, but then she uttered his name in a broken, raspy tone that spurred on the man, and he fucked her into another orgasm before she came down from the first one. Every inch of her body strained against his, but his tight grip ensured that she stayed in place and the vibrations from her trembling limbs coursed throughout him.

Her vision was still blurry when she felt Kakashi withdraw from her and pull her across the bed. She was flipped onto all fours and the position left her feeling too exposed. Yet the feeling of Kakashi’s thickness pressing into her at this angle coupled with him reaching around to rub little circles around her clitoris at the same time forced all the air from her lungs.

“Do you have another for me, Sakura?”

Even if she wanted to answer, doing so was impossible. The only thing Sakura could focus on was the strong hand gripping her ass, the other hand buried between her legs, and the perfect slow rolling of hips that had her entire body hovering on the brink. There was the briefest of pauses and she felt his left leg moving next to her on the bed, causing each of his thrusts to land perfectly against her g-spot.

The results were almost instantaneous, and Sakura exploded in a gush that left Kakashi’s fingers and her inner thighs soaked. Her throat was worn out from yelling and she barely recognized her own cries as he made her lose control yet again.

“You okay, Sakura?” she heard him Kakashi ask as he gently smoothed his fingers over her back. He’d stopped moving when she was unable to stop trembling, and his hands were now stroking her hips.

Sakura found that she still could not speak but she eventually nodded, now realizing that her fingers were clutched onto her sheets. Kakashi reached up to easily loosen her grip before slowly withdrawing from her body and turning her over.

“Pretty girl, I wish you could see yourself now,” he murmured, kneeling between Sakura’s thighs and guiding her legs around his waist.

Sakura didn’t get a chance to ask what he meant because Kakashi slowly slipped inside her, and that sweet push into her oversensitive core made her back arch. Experiencing multiple orgasms left her nerves on overdrive and Sakura wondered how much more she could take.

Perhaps Kakashi knew this, because his strokes were slower this time, so slow that it made Sakura frustrated. She grabbed his hips and pulled them into her, but all he did was slip his hands into hers and whisper for her to be patient.

Sakura ended up with her knees to chest as Kakashi thrust into her, still maintaining an unhurried pace, and she was surprised to find that the buildup to release was just as intense as him deliberately making her come.

Kakashi kept Sakura on the cusp of release, and when he finally relented and moved faster, her walls clamped down on him so tightly it made him lightheaded. Her grip on his hands was equally strong, which he found impressive, but his main focus was hearing Sakura screaming his name in pleasure again.

She came apart one last time, this time leaving his abdomen drenched. That squirting orgasm was enough to break his resolve and Kakashi’s movements grew jerky and uneven as he spilled into her, groaning Sakura’s name into her hair until he went still. It was a while before both recovered and Kakashi was the first to speak.

“Are you okay?” he asked, propping himself up on both elbows to peer down at Sakura.

Sakura’s face was flushed and her hair resembled mangled cotton candy, but otherwise she looked relaxed and seconds away from falling asleep. Her lips parted and she tried to reply but the only thing that came out was a long exhale. Kakashi chuckled as he slid his arms beneath her body.

“Better?” he asked once Sakura was properly placed in bed.

“Yes, thank you,” she uttered weakly, her lips mashed into the pillow.

“Give me five minutes to get the feeling back in my legs and I’ll get us some water and a towel,” Kakashi replied, skimming his hand along her sweat-dampened back.

He kept his promise and got up after his breathing returned to normal. The condom was disposed of and Sakura greedily drank down a bottle of water after toweling off. She still felt hot and pulled the sheet up to her hip while waiting for Kakashi to finish his water.

“Oh damn, my bed is drenched,” she groaned when her foot touched a cold spot, making her scoot further into Kakashi’s side where it was dry.

“Ah, sorry about that,” he apologized, wrapping an arm around her waist. “Do you want me to change the sheets?”

“Nah,” Sakura replied through a yawn. “So long as I don’t put my foot too far down, it’ll be fine. I’ll change them tomorrow.”

“For what it’s worth, I could watch you come over and over and never get tired of it.”

Sakura gave an embarrassed laugh as she nudged Kakashi in the calf with her toes.

“Good, you can do it again later. Or tomorrow,” she continued, yawning again.

“Even if it’s another day, it’s fine. I’m not going anywhere,” Kakashi promised. “You can kick my ass and my dogs like you.”

“Your dogs are cute.”

“Cuter than me?”

“No one is cuter than you, except maybe Pakkun.”

“You’re only smitten with Pakkun because he let you touch his paw pads.”

“I’ll touch your feet for you tomorrow if you like,” Sakura offered. “We can take a bath together.”

“We have a deal,” Kakashi told Sakura as he twirled her damp hair around his fingers. “Now I know we did things the unconventional way, but I still intend on taking you out on an actual date.”

“I’m glad to hear it,” Sakura replied, voice slurred with relaxation. “But give me a bit to recover. I don’t think I’ll be able to walk anywhere for the next day or so.”

“I’ll carry you wherever you want to go,” Kakashi told her, but Sakura didn’t hear because she was already lightly snoring into his chest.
