Work Text:
1. Evan Buckley
The team were working a case with a serial arsonist that had started escalating to bombs, bomb techs and arson experts were stretched thin, but they were in need of some help.
Hondo dropped his phone to the table, disappointed after yet another request was denied due to lack of available specialists.
Seeing the look on his boss’ face, Jim offered “I know a guy that might be able to help us out…”
As one, the rest of the team turned to look at him.
“You know someone that can help us figure this out?” Hondo asked to confirm, but mentally was already relieved at the possibility. Jim pulled out his phone and searched his contacts for his adrenaline junkie friend.
“Hey, Ev! Got a case involving an arsonist, any chance you could swing by and take a look?”
“Thanks, Ev! See you soon.”
He turned back to the team, “He just finished a shift so he’ll be here in 30.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Street, visitor up front looking for you.” The interruption came from a uniformed officer, the team had been going over the case details for the millionth time just hoping something new would jump out at them.
“Thanks, Officer Buckland. I’ll be right back, guys.” Jim called over his shoulder as he exited the room.
“Ev! Thanks for coming, man.” Jim yelled as he threw his arms around his best friend, they had met back when Evan had first moved to L.A. chasing his dream of becoming a firefighter. They had clicked instantly, he was the only one that called Evan by his name. Too many jokes about the two Bucks in his life annoyed Evan into allowing him to call him by his first name.
“Jimmy! No problem, but I just got off a 24 hour so I’ve only got a few hours left in me before I crash hard.” Evan was happy to help, he knew how much being on SWAT meant to Jimmy and also knew how difficult it was for people like them to fit in within a team that was a family.
“Follow me. The rest of the team are waiting through here, we really need fresh eyes on this. Especially eyes that know fire as well as yours do.” He added with a chuckle, his friend was a fire science nerd and coupled with his adhd triggered research binges, led Evan Buckley to being a very intelligent man.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Guys, this is LAFD firefighter Evan Buckley, and also my best man. Call him Buck.” Jim introduced, Evan gave a wave from his place beside him.

2. Tony Stark
The team were learning that Street had a bizarre collection of contacts, his ability to find them intel whenever they were in a tight spot was becoming legendary. This instance was no exception.
They’d been chasing a group of black hat hackers, who so far had been able to erase all traces of themselves online. They’d targeted private and government buildings, companies ranging from food technology to defence contractors to hospitals, stealing money and information and leaving corrupted servers in their wake.
“Have our computer experts found anything yet?” Deacon asked Luca, who was stood at the computers going through the data from the last hack.
“Absolutely nothing. This crew is just too good, we need serious help here Deac.” Luca was officially out of ideas on how to track these guys down.
“I know a guy.” Came the legendary phrase from their youngest member. Luca couldn’t wait to see who Street brought in on this one, they were quickly learning not to question him whenever he pulled intel out of nowhere.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Guys, this is…” Jim began, only to be interrupted by his guest entering behind him.
“They know who I am, Pumpkin.” Jim rolled his eyes as the dramatic man pushed past him.
He had met Tony when he was doing security for a charity event the man was hosting on behalf of the Maria Stark Foundation. The two had struck up a conversation when Jim had genuinely thanked the older man for his charity work, having been a recipient of one of the grants when he was being tossed from one bad foster home to another. The Maria Stark Foundation had literally saved him from being on the streets with the wrong crowd, it had provided a safe place for him and other kids like him to just be kids.
“FRI, show ‘em what you got” At his words, files started to pop up onto the screens all around the room.
“Woah…” Voiced Luca, though the rest of the team were also amazed.
“Well, that’s me done here. I’ll see you in a few days for the wedding, Pumpkin.” And with that, span on his heels and strode out the room. Ever the dramatic.

3. Stiles Stilinski
20-David were on scene at an armed robbery in progress, shots fired in both directions. They needed backup and fast. The men they were after were on their fifth bank in as many days, they stashed their loot from the previous heist somewhere and then were immediately on to the next. Moving quicker than any man should.
“Yo, Officer Pretty Boy! Need a hand?” An unknown voice called out over the hail of bullets, causing their youngest member to glance over. As soon as he registered who was talking, a smile lit up his face.
“Stiles!” Jim pressed the button on his mic, to broadcast to the team. “This is 26-David, hold your fire. I repeat, this is 26-David. Hold your fire.” Mere seconds after the sound of bullets lessened, Hondo’s voice crackled over the radio.
“Street, what’s going on?” Barked Hondo, they were in a bad enough situation without one of his team going rogue.
“Unofficial backup has arrived, hold cease fire. Friendlies will be clear of area in 2 minutes and we can move in to arrest.” Came the response, the vagueness of his reply leading Hondo to believe the ‘friendlies’ to yet another one of Street’s outlandish contacts.
“Okay, Street take point. Hold your positions and move in only when Street gives the all clear.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“We’re done saving your asses, you can come out now.” The same sarcastic voice from moments before broke the tense atmosphere once again.
As the team popped up from their cover, they were once again shocked at the sight of another one of Street’s friends. Before them stood a skinny teenager, the four armed men unconscious at his feet. A cocky grin plastered across his face.
“Consider this your wedding present from us.” He winked and retreated from the room, a tall dark haired man waiting for him at the exit. “Let’s go Sourwolf!”

4 & 5. Steve McGarrett & Danno Williams
Jim was having a rough day, he’d gotten hit by a stun grenade that had gone off at his feet after a bad throw by one of the SWAT academy candidates. His head was pounding, and he wanted nothing more than to go home and sleep this off.
Unfortunately for him, he couldn’t drive himself home and the team were swamped with a new case and so they couldn’t take him home either. So here he was, laid out on the sofa in Hicks’ office, desperately trying not to throw his guts up.
As he laid there feeling sorry for himself, he missed the performance happening out in the training area.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Excuse me, Sirs. You can’t just go back there!” Yelled a harassed looking uniformed officer.
Ahead of him were two stern men, their faces set with determination. Arriving back at the same time was the rest of 20-David, who were making a stop off for more intel before going back out on the streets.
“What’s going on? Can we help you two?” Deacon asked.
“Help? You can help by showing this neanderthal where his pup is before he breaks out the grenades.” The smaller of the two replied, the taller searching his surroundings in the way only a trained military operative does.
“We gonna have a problem here, fellas?” Hondo dropped his hand to his holster, not particularly liking the intenseness of the duo.
“Detective Danny Williams. Lieutenant Commander Steven McGarrett. Five-0.” The blonde barked, “Now where is Jim Street, we heard over the wire that he got hurt?” The two men had travelled a long way to see their wayward stray, to be there for him on his wedding day.
“Street’s fine, he was in the radius of a concussion grenade so he’s feeling pretty rough right now. He’s through there in Hicks’ office.” Deacon pointed down the corridor over their shoulders which lead to the offices. Immediately, Steve turned on his heels and marched down the corridor, eager to get to his honorary kid.
“Forgive my friend, he’s an animal.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jim opened his eyes at the opening of the door, not believing he was seeing who was actually in front of him.
“Steve?” he winced out.
“Yeah, Pup. It’s me, Danno’s here too.” Steve knew all too well just how much pain Jim’s feeling right now, and so kept his voice as soft as possible. He knelt before him, running his hand gently through his hair.
Danny entered the room silently, and whispered, “we’re clear to get him out of here.”
“C’mon kid, let’s get you home.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unbeknownst to the trio, the rest of the SWAT team were watching the two strange men care for their youngest.
“You guys know who that is, right?” Chris spoke, she had remained quiet during the initial encounter, trying to figure out why the men were so familiar. It wasn’t until the blonde had called the brunette an animal that she worked it out.
“That’s McGarrett and Williams out of Hawaii. Five-0, government task force Five-0.” Chris gushed, she loved researching extraordinary cases from across the country, and with a team like McGarrett’s extraordinary cases crossed their desks every day.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
+ 1 (mini) time they called him out on it
“Hey, Street!” Luca yelled after Street, who was on his way out of the locker room.
“Yeah Luca?”
“You know some strange people!” He said with a laugh, he’ll never get over how casually he could whip out his phone and text Tony Stark!
