Chapter Text
“Dad!” Jeongin burst into the house.
Both of his parents whipped their heads around, looking at their frantic son.
“I just realized something horrible.” He breathed out, diving into the couch.
“Which is?”
“I.. have a crush.”
Chan gasped, “Oh god, who is it?!” He beamed, his eyes shining.
“You seem way too excited about this.” Minho stared.
“Shut it, Minho.”
Jeongin looked up at his parents, “It’s… a boy..” He smashed his head back on the couch, “I don’t know why I like him! I just do!”
Chan giggled. “It’s normal for you to have a crush at this age. It’s not like he’s someone abnormal.” He ruffled Jeongin’s hair.
“But.. why a.. boy..?”
“Because that’s just who you're attracted to!” Minho leaned back, “Jeongin, are you homophobic?”
Jeongin sputtered, “OF COURSE NOT! I HAVE TWO GAY DADS, WHY WOULD I BE HOMOPHOBIC?!”
Minho laughed at his reaction, “Calm down.”
Jeongin huffed. He flipped on his back, shutting his eyes tightly, “What do I do..?”
“We can always help.” Chan leaned forward, “Just say the word.”
Jeongin sighed.

“Dad..” Jeongin clutched the phone in his hand, “I don’t think I can do this..”
“C’mon, it’s not that hard.” Chan laughed, “It’s just sharing earphones.”
“Which is why I can’t do it.”
Chan sighed, “You’re about to miss the bus. Go on, child.”
Jeongin huffed, running out the door.
He reached the bus stop with his hands on his knees, him being out of breath.
He said I’d miss the bus but, it’s not even here yet?!
Jeongin sat on the bench, dropping his head.
He felt the rumbling of the bus under his feet, signaling that it was here. He sprung up, racing to the doors.
The stuffy feeling of the bus? Jeongin hated it. But he could surprisingly ignore it due to the love of his life being in front of his eyes.
(Was that an exaggeration? Yes. It definitely was.)
Seungmin waved him over, patting a seat next to him.
Jeongin’s breath hitched, blushing at Seungmin’s sharp features.
“Woah, you look cute today.” Seungmin commented, “Did you do something different with your hair?”
“Uh, no?” Jeongin scoffed, “I always look cute.”
(‘Twas a lie, he did do something different. It’s Seungmin anyway.)
“True.” Seungmin giggles, snatching an earphone from Jeongin’s lap.
Jeongin’s brain short-circuited.
He thinks I’m cute?! What the fuck?! Calm down Jeongin, maybe it’s just a platonic compliment… No, what’s fucking platonic about that?!
Jeongin huffed. He glanced over to Seungmin, who was staring at him weirdly.
“You gonna play music or what?”
Jeongin sputtered, “Sorry!”
He scrambled to open Spotify, quickly searching for a playlist.
“Wow..” Seungmin grabbed Jeongin’s phone, “You made a playlist for us?”
“Give that back!”
“And you named it,” Seungmin squinted, “‘I hate Seungmin’ with a heart?”
“I—” Jeongin pouted, “Give me my phone back, Seungmo!”
“Ooh, that’s a new one.” He smiled, “Say please?”
“Give it back, bastard!”
Seungmin laughed, “You’re no fun.”
Jeongin clicked his teeth, playing the playlist.
“Sweet,” Seungmin laid back on the bus seat, “It’s a LeeHi song.”
“Uh huh.” Jeongin zoned out.
To no surprise, the song first played was titled “Hold my Hand.”
Jeongin mentally cursed as Seungmin glanced at the phone.
“You want me to hold your hand?”
Jeongin blushed harder, “Pfft, where did you get that idea from, idiot?”
Seungmin stared directly into Jeongin’s eyes, “From here.” He pointed at Jeongin’s face.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You’re currently blushing like a mad man.”
Jeongin’s mind blanked. He stared ahead, clutching his phone.
Seeing the school come up ahead, he pressed the button, quickly standing up.
I want to get off this bus as soon as possible and be AWAY FROM THIS MAN!!!!!!!
As soon as the bus stopped, he bolted off. He silently hoped his blush would magically wash off by the time he got to school.
Bad news, it didn’t.
He slammed his head on the table in front of him, sighing.
“Oh my god,” A voice remarked beside him, “you’re growing wrinkles!”
“Shut up, Yeojin.”
“Oh, you love it.” She laughed, “What’s on your mind now, wrinkle boy?”
“Sometimes I wish you were born a year later so I wouldn’t have to deal with this.”
“I’m, like, your best friend.”
“No, you aren’t.” Jeongin stared.
“Yes, I am.”
“No, you aren’t.”
“I am.”
Jeongin slammed his head into the desk once again.

Jeongin slammed into the house.
“Woah. Did you have a rough day at school buddy?”
“Horrible day.” Jeongin glared, “I want to drop out.”
“Well, you aren’t dropping out so…” Chan shrugged, “Anyways, wanna tell me about it?”
“No. I’m tired and hungry.”
“Alright, fair.” Chan chuckled, “Your dad will be home in a minute, eat a snack.”
“But I thought you were my dad?”
“Your other dad.”
Jeongin huffed, storming up into his room.
“Such a teenager..”
“I HEARD THAT!!”
—
“You should invite him over.”
Jeongin choked on his food, “WHAT?!”
Minho shrugged, “What? Like he’s never come here?”
“No, it’s just,” Jeongin sighed, “wouldn’t it be, you know, weird to invite him out of the blue?”
“No?” Chan laughed.
“You sure?”
Chan stared at his son, “You think I’m not?”
Jeongin pursed his lips, picking up his phone.

“WHAT THE FUCK.” Jeongin slammed his phone on the table, putting his head in his hands.
Minho and Chan looked confused. “What happened?” They both said at the same time.
“He.. he said that…” Jeongin slammed his head on the table, “HE SAID HE’D RATHER BE YOUR SON IN LAW.”
“That’s cute.”
“DAD!”
The two parents let Jeongin sulk for a few until a loud knock was heard at the door.
“Who is it?!” Jeongin yelled, walking next to the door.
“Your future husband!”
Jeongin paused. He slowly opened the door, “What?”
“What?” Seungmin chuckled, walking in and taking off his shoes.
“What you said.. did you actually—”
“C’mon, Jeong, we’ve got a movie to watch.” Seungmin smiled, grabbing Jeongin’s hand.
Jeongin let himself be dragged to his room with a (stupid) grin on his face.
Chapter Text
“She’s like, what, eleven? And she’s already had to deal with trauma like almost getting BUTTONS sewed in her E—”
“That’s enough movie, Jeongin.”
“HEAR ME OUT—”
Seungmin shook his head. He wrapped an arm around Jeongin’s shoulder, pulling him close, “We should sleep.”
Jeongin felt his mind go blank. The only thing his eyes focused on was Seungmin’s beautiful features. His soft skin, his pink, full lips, his pretty, chocolate-brown like eyes, and his stare.
Seungmin’s stare made Jeongin’s throat dry. It made him want to shrivel up into a ball and just Sit There. Pretty eyes with an intense stare that could kill ? Dangerous.
Every time he made eye contact with Seungmin, whether it be at school or somewhere else, he always had a different look.
(Jeongin thinks it's hot but you didn’t hear it from me.)
Surprisingly, Seungmin stared differently. He held the whole galaxy in his eyes and they looked like they’re screaming “you’re pretty!” and “be mine.”
Jeongin shifted his gaze to Seungmin’s lips. The most desirable lips known to the human race. The most elegant and most kissable lips.
(Jeongin wonders if they feel as soft as they look. Hm.)
Jeongin raised his hand, cupping Seungmin’s cheek. He made eye contact with him, Seungmin immediately reacted by leaning forward.
Jeongin could feel Seungmin’s breath on his lips as they got closer. He could feel the other slipping his arm down to the small of his back, resting it there.
Jeongin pushed himself up, fluttering his eyes closed and leaning closer until he couldn’t anymore and finally feeling another pair of lips touch his own.
He cupped Seungmin’s other cheek, pulling his head closer. It was amazing , the kiss, it felt like heaven to him.
Unfortunately, they were (rudely) interrupted by a loud knock at the door.
Or were they?
Jeongin felt himself jolt awake. He looked around, seeing he was laying in someone’s arms. He groaned, turning around.
“Seungmin?” He whispered, his voice raspy.
“You’re up, sleepyhead.” Seungmin chuckled.
“When did I fall asleep?” Jeongin asked.
“Around an hour ago.” Seungmin checked his phone, “You stared at me for a few minutes then passed out.”
“Really?”
Seungmin nodded.
Jeongin groaned again, “Fuck..”
That was all a dream?
Jeongin leaned back into the bed, directly onto Seungmin’s arm.
“You alright?”
“Perfectly fine, Seung.”
Chapter Text
“OH MY FUCKING—”
“No cursing!”
Jeongin stared at Yerim. “‘No cursing!’” He mocked her.
Yerim glared at him, “Could you please just study?”
“No.” He shoved his head on the table, “I can’t take my mind off him…”
“Well try to because Yeojin’s sister is coming home in twenty and if she sees us not studying…”
“Haseul loves me.”
“She threw a pot at you once.”
“I accidentally scared her! It was purely an accident.” Jeongin cupped his face, laying on his hands.
“I hope she chucks a textbook at your head next.” Yerim clicked her tongue, clicking her pen too.
Jeongin opened his mouth to make a remark, but was interrupted by a snore instead.
He glanced over to the other end of the table, looking in the direction of the snoring.
It was Yeojin. She was sound asleep on the table, drool seeping from her mouth.
Jeongin’s face was scrunched up in disgust, “That’s disgusting.”
“Right.” Yerim had the same expression on her face.
Jeongin slammed his head on the table once again, “We’re all gonna fail for different reasons…”
“I’m not!”
“Yes, you are.”
“Yes, I am.” Yerim sighed.

“You know, when I had a crush on your dad, I just annoyed him!” Chan smiled.
Jeongin was on the verge of sobbing his eyes out, “That’s not gonna work.”
Chan threw the remote he had in his hand on the coffee table, “What do you want me to do, Jeongin? I’m not you.”
Jeongin sighed, “I don’t know. I don’t even know what to do myself! I mean, he likes me right?”
“For the second time, I’m not you. You’ve got to figure this out, kiddo.”
seungmin.
would you meet me?
our usual spot
why?
im a bit busy rn
studying w/ hyun lolol
oh.
you don’t have to then, it’s fine
Jeongin threw the box he had in his hands on the ground, “Fuck!”
He leaned his head back, almost falling out of the swing but catching himself. He huffed, shutting his eyes.
I can’t do this.. Fucking hell, Yang Jeongin, you’re so stupid.
He shook his head, feeling something ruffle his hair. He slowly looked up.
“You look cute.”
“I thought you were studying, Seungmin.”
“Just finished.” Seungmin leaned forward, placing his hands on the chains of the swing.
Jeongin stared up at the boy, his eyes glaring.
Seungmin pushed his head back with his finger, “What’s the stare for?”
“I’m trying to figure out if I actually like you or if I’m just an idiot.”
“You like me?” Seungmin said, but he didn’t look surprised at all.
“You’re oblivious?” Jeongin chuckled, “You didn’t notice I liked you?”
“…No?”
“Seriously?”
Seungmin dropped his head down, “Not really…” He slipped his hand down to the lower part of the swing, Jeongin took that opportunity to rest his own on them.
“승민이,” Jeongin smiled, “좋아해.”
Seungmin looked like an idiot trying to hide his smile, “나 좋아해?”
“아니요, 사랑해요.”
“Pfft, cheesy.” Seungmin giggled, “Kiss me.”
Jeongin sprung up, cupping Seungmin’s face and locking their lips together.
Seungmin wrapped his arms around Jeongin’s waist, pulling him towards his own body.
It was a short, simple kiss but it felt like electricity was going through the both of them. Both of their lips had a tingly feeling to it, like the one you’d get when your arm falls asleep. But it felt good, way too good for it to be a bad feeling.
After pulling apart, they stared deeply into each other’s eyes.
“Dumbass.”
Seungmin frowned, laughing shortly after, “Can’t believe I like you.”
“I can’t believe I like you either.”

“Yeah, he just makes me feel so special. All summer, he’s made me feel like royalty. I don’t deserve him.” Jeongin smiled.
“Mm, that’s nice. I’m gonna put my head in a sink.”
“Yeojin!”
She laughed, “Your relationship is cute.”
Jeongin opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by someone yelling.
“YEOJIN!!!!!!!!!”
Yeojin looked back, “Haseul?”
The said girl smiled, catching up to Yeojin. She hugged her from behind, squishing their faces together.
“Did you miss me?”
“언니! Get off me!” Yeojin whined.
Haseul laughed. She pulled back up, looking at the two sitting at the table.
“Why are you here?” Yeojin asked.
“I’m out shopping with my girlfriend but.. she ran off somewhere..” Haseul pushed her lips in a thin line, thinking.
“Your girlfriend?”
“Vivi! You know her.” Haseul laughed, “Is this your boyfriend?”
Yeojin and Jeongin gasped dramatically. “OF COURSE NOT! I WOULD NEVER DATE HIM!”
Jeongin scoffed, “Like anyone would date you. ”
“Shut it, wrinkle boy. You’re lucky Seungmin puts up with you.” She scowled.
“Uh, other way around, stupid.”
“Oh, shut up—”
“Okay, I get it.” Haseul giggled, “You guys aren’t dating.”
Jeongin shook his head, “We are just friends. ”
“Yeah, friends.”
