The Whistler and The Tiger

Summary:

Wendy & Lily. Darling Lily. Whistler and Tiger. It just makes sense.

Work Text:

A Peter Pan One-Shot with the pairing Wendy Darling and Tiger Lily.

--third-person pov--

The Darling children were in Neverland, and the boys were having great fun. Wendy was feeling downtrodden. She wanted to have fun as well. Her brothers reminded her that ladies are mothers and storytellers, not battling pirates.

Wendy wondered why she was supposed to always be the damsel in distress? Her mom would always force her hair into ringlets and be poised at all times.

Then the Darlings met the Indians and Tiger Lily. James and John shrugged her off and went to cause more trouble with the lost boys. Wendy shyly moves closer to Tiger Lily, and they talk throughout the night. They spoke about the moon, stars, cultures, customs, and all the likes and dislikes of each other.

Tiger Lily persuades Wendy to stay with her for Wendy's time at Neverland. The Chief of the Indians gave Wendy a new name. Whistling Wendy and everything was swell.

Unbeknownst to Wendy, the lost boys were raging war with the pirates to rescue James and John. Wendy and Lily spent a lot of time together. At first, they were friends. But with a single kiss on the cheek, it changed. James and John settled back in London, their heads filled with dreams and flying pirates. One of the pirates had a hook and a crazy mustache.

Wendy and Lily grow up together, and Neverland wishes their feelings to real-time. Wendy is taken in by an elder, and the girls marry each other.

Peter Pan couldn't believe that Wendy chose Tiger Lily instead of being the lost boys' mother but told her that James and John were back in London. In any case, Wendy brushed him off! Wendy and Lily thought that being together just made sense. They adopted a child to be the next heir for chief and lived happily ever after.
