She almost smiles, and true alarm starts to build in his chest. “I’m afraid I’m not here for something so small. Professor Roberts has resigned.”
“Good,” Draco says honestly, “Would you like a list of suitable alternatives? I know a number of competent potions masters abroad, but then of course you’d have to hire another teacher to act as the Slytherin head. I’m afraid you’ve dried up all the half decent Slytherin Potions masters.”
“Not all of them,” she says quietly.
He blinks. She can’t be serious. “You can’t be serious.”
“Gravely,” she says, “Mr. Malfoy, I am not above begging.”
What the bloody fuck. “I don’t even like potions!”

Draco returns to Hogwarts.
He has a duty to his blood and his name and his house, and he will fulfill it.

This is one of the first Drarry fics I ever read, and remains one of my favourites. It has such interesting world-building ideas, and I loved the unique portrayal of some of my favourite characters. I'm still pretty new to recording, this is only my second, so apologies for sound issues. Constructive feedback welcome.

First chapter!
I'm going to do my best with character voices. McGonagall's Scottish accent flat out isn't going to happen, but I'll try to settle on a consistent and vaguely appropriate voice for each character, but based on my DMing experience I'm not going to guarantee consistency of minor characters between recording sessions, though I'll try my hardest haha! I'm not happy with the House Elf voices in this first chapter, and I know they're really important in this fic, so I might work on them and change the voices at some point, and may or may not come back and re-record. I'll see how I go.
