As the bullets began to batter Donnie's metal shell, he reached out to grab Mikey, pulling him back against his own plastron. If Mikey yelped in surprise, Donnie could not hear it over the deafening thunks of bullets against his prosthetic carapace where the metal fused with his spinal cord and held firm.
