The Fallen Angel of Preventing Harm

Summary:

Raph grit his teeth, growling into his communicator as he pushed against the snake mutant. His tonfas were knocked away a while ago, so Raph had to resort to his own strength. His brothers had all been awake when he left to go on patrol, but given that it was now 3:34 in the morning, they were probably all asleep. He'd been hoping that the noise of the fight would be enough to wake up someone, but there was still no response.

Notes:

In the pizza puffs episode, Raph mentions that no one else does patrols, so I'm thinking....

What if he just doesn't come back to the lair one day?

You may or may not end up hating me for this

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

"Ya know, having my brothers here might be helpful, if they weren't all sleeping! "

Raph grit his teeth, growling into his communicator as he pushed against the snake mutant. His tonfas had been snapped a bit ago, so Raph had to resort to his own strength. His brothers had all been awake when he left to go on patrol, but given that it was now 3:34 in the morning, they were probably all asleep. He'd been hoping that the noise of the fight would be enough to wake up someone, but there was still no response.

This was one of the few times Raph really felt like he needed their help with patrol. Sure, it would be nice if they ever bothered to join him so that he wasn't alone, but he could deal with most things on his own. However, this was a new guy, and Raph didn't know how to fight him yet. He didn't know what style they used.

Raph also wasn't trying to get into a fight with this guy either. He stopped Hypno and some worm guy from robbing a bank and was on his way home when he heard screaming. The snake mutant had cornered a human and was about to kill it when Raph got there. The human ran away when they saw Raph, seeing an opportunity to escape. Now, Raph was here.

Raph fell forward as the snake mutant slithered back and there was suddenly pain against his side as the tail hit him into a wall. The other injuries Raph had gotten from the fight made him weaker and it was impossible to get out as the snake kept him pinned down using its tail and its tongue flicked as it got closer to Raph's face. "You know…Ussssssually, you would make quite the meal." The snake hissed. "However, I jusssst want to kill you now for all the trouble you've causssssed me."

Raph writhed in the snake's grip, eventually able to pull out his arm with his communicator. "Will you guys please hurry? I don't think I can do this for too long-hrk!"

The snake's grip tightened against Raph's chest, its head getting dangerously close to Raph's neck. The red-clad turtle could feel his air circulation starting to slip, his vision blurring. Suddenly, a sharp voice rang through the air, causing the snake to slip. "Thank you for pressing the panic button. Your panic is important to us."

Instead of biting the turtle's neck like it had intended, the snake ended up biting Raph's shoulder and part of his shell. A few cracks rang through the air as one of the fangs broke. The snake slithered away, cursing about his fang as the panic button repeated its message. Raph cringed as he felt the venom spreading beneath his scales. His eyelids drooped as he felt the overwhelming urge to just…sleep.

"Thank you for pressing the panic button. Your panic is important to us. Thank you for pressing the panic button…" Donnie's voice seemed to lull him in further.

He was…so…so tired.

Maybe…he… just needed to…just needed to…

"Your panic is important to us."

Sleep.
