“Nu-nu-nu-nu,” Magine muttered frantically under her breath, nearly running into Vroon.
“What’s wrong, Magine?” Zyuran asked in concern.
“She has a date with that cute little human!” Gaon explained. “Well, maybe not little, isn’t she taller than Stacey?”
“Oh, that Miss Sabela?” Zyuran asked after a second of consideration.
“Yes, and she’s so cool, what am I supposed to do?”
“Relax, probably?” Gaon snipped.
“I’m trying , nu-nu-nu-nu.”
“You’re going to be fine, Magine, remember, she’s the one who hugged you,” Zyuran said comfortingly.
“Yes, but what if that was a fluke?” Magine asked worryingly.
“No way,” Gaon scoffed. “In fact, I bet she’s worrying about your date too.”
Magine was so shocked she stopped in the middle of her pacing.
“Miss Reika? Worry? When she’s so smart and so beautiful and so…”
“So…” Vroon prompted as Magine tried to think of her next word to describe Shindai Reika.
Magine threw up her hands, sending Vroon back in alarm. “PERFECT! Nu-nu-nu-nu!”
Zyuran got up from where he was sitting, placing a hand on Magine’s shoulder.
“You’re going to be fine, Magine. Wasn’t she the one who invited you to…whatever you were going to do today?”
“See a play,” Magine said before pausing.
“THE TICKETS WHERE DID I PUT THE TICKETS?”
“These tickets?” Yatsude asked, holding out multiple copies of the same ticket. “They were all over the room!”
“Someone was a little too worried, I see,” Gaon murmured, rearing back when Magine glared at him.
“I just want this date to go well,” Magine moaned, accepting the tickets and putting them in the purse Yatsude was lending her.
“I must say, your nervousness is making me nervous,” Vroon said.
“How do you think I feel? Miss Reika is just so…”
“She’s here,” Gaon announced, causing Magine to spin around and crash.
“Magine!” Reika said, immediately coming over and holding out her hand, which would haven’t been a big deal if it was Kaito or something, but it was Shindai Reika, and Magine was going on a date with her.
“Ah! I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m so clumsy,” Magine said, taking Reika’s hand and finding that Reika had more than enough strength to pull her up.
“Are you alright?” Reika asked with a frown.
“Oh yes, I’m fine, this happens all the time, plus, you know, Kikainoid,” Magine said through nervous laughter.
“As long as you are alright,” Reika said, apparently realizing she was still holding Magine’s hand and dropping it, her cheeks turning red and making Magine realize that Gaon had been right. This helped her relax immensely. If Shindai Reika was nervous about being with plain ol’ Magine, then…Magine didn’t have to worry too much.
“I’m fine,” Magine reassured her.
“Good, then…shall we go?” Reika said, looking around at the other Kikainoids.
“Yes, let’s, nu-nu-nu-nu,” Magine said, hoping she could at least get out of Colorful without a scene happening.
“See you later, Magine,” the Kikainoids chorused as Reika bowed at them before bending her arm for Magine, who took it after a second of confusion.
“Bye everyone,” Magine called.
“I hope you enjoy the play, Magine,” Reika said as they walked.
“Well, as long as it’s with you, Miss Reika, I’m sure I will,” Magine said earnestly, making Reika blush again.
Magine hoped she could make her blush again over the course of the date, considering how cute it was.
(She was successful, many times.)
