TW: Entomophobia

This is the Mimic.

It resembles a cockroach the size of a house cat, and has the face of a cherub on its wings.

The Mimic can, well, mimic the sound of a baby crying, as well as let loose a shrill scream.

It doesn't attack, but if it screams, it can attract other monsters to its location.

This monster represents memories of an old monster movie Rosita saw with her family, and is the first sign of the Wasteland seeping through into Silent Hill.

Due to its low health, any major source of damage can kill it outright.

This is the POW. It resembles a charred human wearing a military uniform that's a mix of American and Chinese from the Battle of Anchorage. It's hands are bound together by a mass of flesh behind its back.

It can't hear well due to a lack of ears, but when it spots someone, it'll attack by spitting fire like a flamethrower or headbutting them.

The POW symbolizes Rosita's experiences at Anchorage. All the killing seen, the soldiers taken as prisoners, her near-death accident, her resentment over having been drafted, etc.

It's recommended to use a long distance weapon to take out the legs first.

This is La Llorona.

Its appearance is that of a mannequin wearing a 1950's style mourning outfit. Its face has a visible repair line around one of the eyes.

It attacks using razor thin claws on its hands.

To fight it, its weak spot (the face) must be shot at to expose it, then it can be repelled by anything that shows a reflection. It will recoil from seeing this, allowing the monster to continue being shot.

La Llorona represents forced femininity, death, and mourning.

Two sources were a major inspiration for this boss: La Llorona (obv) and La Pascualita. Both come from Mexican folklore, and were big influences in Rosita's childhood. I know they're both supposed to be dressed in white, but I ended up looking at 50s mourning dresses, and couldn't pass the opportunity up.

This is Dentata.

It resembles an emaciated figure with a row of teeth running up and down its body. The hands are shaped like praying mantis blades and the feet are hands.

It attacks with the mantis hands when it's standing upright. If knocked over, it uses its hand-feet to grab and pull you towards its open maw.

Long-distance weaponry is highly recommended to fight it.

Dentata is the manifestation of Rosita's aversion to sex and sexual imagery.

It's named after the term Vagina Dentata (you can see why quite clearly).

This is Red Tape.

It takes the appearance of any part of a building that obstructs a way forward; walls, gates, doors, floors, etc. A large eye can be found on or near its surface.

Red Tape doesn't attack. What it does is prevent you from going any further on your path, either forcing you to find another way around or use physical force to destroy it.

To kill Red Tape, the eye needs to be stabbed out with Kremvh's Tooth.

The monster is the physical manifestation of the "Red Tape" forced upon people by corrupt and incompetent authority figures. All it does is stall and block, doing no good for the person it gets in the way of.

Red Tape's main inspiration is the nurikabe, a yokai from Japanese folklore.

This is the Chained Patient.

It resembles a hospital patient wrapped up in bandages and cuffed to an IV stand.

It mainly attacks with the IV stand, causing heavy amounts of damage if it makes contact.

The Chained Patient is a puzzle boss. Weapons don't hurt it- you must fulfill a specific requirement in order to beat it.

This monster represents Rosita's time as a hospital patient, cuffed to her bed while her burn healed and waiting for her court trial to begin.
