Work Text:
Iris huffs, blowing the trestles of her hair out of her face. She’s baking a cake for her loving boyfriend’s birthday dinner. Today is supposed to be a lovely evening with bright smiles and laughter from many loved ones. But instead, she has to share this evening and deal with her ex-bestie watching her every move and burning a hole into her backside.
Iris’s wrist twists harder and the grips on the mixing bowl tighten as she hears her old bestie approaching.
“Iris, do you need any help?” Linda asks with cheery intent.
The West and friends are in the mountains at their yearly cabin retreat. This summer outing was moved up in favor of Barry’s birthday and Linda’s pregnancy. So in her case, it’s a win, win but not so much for Iris as she is not too excited about Linda and Wally’s attendance. She should blame her father for the invite.
Iris doesn’t acknowledge Linda as she continues to mix. “Nope,”
“Um, your hair looks real nice. I see you changed it back to brown.” Linda compliments.
“Mhmm,” Iris’s wrist hurts from how fast she’s mixing.
Linda’s shoulders then slump. “Iris, are you still mad at me?”
“Yes,” She answers plainly without missing a beat as she keeps her back turned.
Linda sighs and then rounds Iris’s opposite side as she forces herself into Iris’s viewpoint. “Come on, Iris. We’re best friends-”
“You were best friends. Past tense.” Keisha enters the kitchen with an attitude and folded arms.
Keisha likes Linda. She’s a fun time but also a liar and West women hate lairs. Linda is also pregnant with Iris’ little brother’s child and hid it for months without good reason. Soooo, Linda and Wallace randomly wanted to be family-oriented, and show up to this event leaves a bad taste in everyone’s mouth.
Linda puts her hand on her hip, accidentally enhancing her protruding belly. “Keisha, no disrespect but this conversation doesn’t involve you nor was I talking to you.”
“Oh, but I’m talking to you,” Keisha replies with a cock of her neck.
“... and I am not talking to you.” Iris directs to Linda without once acknowledging her presence.
Iris is jealous. She’s allowed to be. She just needs time to deal with these envious emotions but Linda isn’t giving her the space to do so.
Cecile then enters the room in haste. “Ladies, ladies, please…”
“Sorry, mom.”
“Sorry, auntie.”
“Sorry, Mrs. West.”
All women apologize.
Ceciles takes a beat. “... now what is all of this about, huh?”
“Linda,” Keisha calls on her to answer with raised brows and pursed lips.
Linda rolls her eyes and then turns serious. “... wanted to talk to Iris about the reunion.”
“... and Iris.” Cecile tries but notices Iris is mixing the batter into a gum. “Iris,” with gentle hands Cecile grabs her wrist and gives Iris a knowing look.
Iris places the bowl and spoon onto the counter with a deep sigh.
“Iris, what happened at the reunion?” Cecile knows but wants Iris to reiterate.
Iris huffs. “... this woman right here lied to me for months about her being pregnant. How far along are you Linda? Let’s say about six months or so?” Iris questions with a frown.
Linda gulps. “Six months in a couple of days.”
Cecile tries not to show any emotion but she didn’t know Linda was that far along.
“Hmm,” Keisha snorts with an attitude and a shake of her head.
“See!” Iris stresses. “She had ample amount of time to tell me, Cecile.”
“Iris you went through an abortion and false pregnancy. I didn’t want to cause more damage.” Linda stresses.
“... and why couldn’t you let me determine that instead of making it for me!” Iris yells.
Linda’s searching for the right words. “... because Iris, you would be able to handle it.”
Keisha gasps and Cecile cringes.
Iris turns red with hatred.
……
It was a quiet and peaceful evening on the dock. That is until there was a blaring conversation of screams coming from the cabin. “... uh, should we worry about that?” Luke inquires.
“Yeah, should we go in there and break things up?” Barry’s debating if he should enter the cabin from hell or continue his peaceful fishing.
“Nope,” Joe drags as he lounges in the sun with a beer in one hand and a fishing pole in the other.
“Yeah, it’s best if we just stay out of it.” Wallace agrees as he cast out his fishing rod.
Rene then lifts from his lounging chair with a bucket hat and sunscreen on his nose. “... what’s happening? It’s just another Tuesday for me.” He expresses casually and the men laugh.
“... oh, we know, brotha… we know.” Luke teases and the men laugh even louder.
Barry is loving his mini birthday bash. Begin away from the city and its prying eyes. But he wasn’t expecting Wallace and Linda to show up to the camping festivities… and from the yelling, he hears coming from the cabin neither did Iris.
“Rene, you having woman problems?” Joe questions as he tinkers with his rod.
Barry snorts. “... more like women with an “ s. ” It’s plural, pops.”
Joe’s brows raise into his hairline. “... ohhh,”
“It’s called polyamorous, guys.” Rene corrects though he too isn’t sure how he got caught up between two women.
Luke purses his lips. “He just read the definition on the ride up here.”
Wallace snickers and Barry snorts.
“... well whatever it is it’s too much for me. I can hardly keep up with one woman let alone two.” Joe explains.
Then there even more arguing and yelling coming from the cabin.
All the men’s head turn toward the cabin with looks of fear on their faces, causing them all except Rene to… “... agree.”
……
Linda huffs. “... damnit Iris, I didn’t tell you because I knew you’d be jealous. There. Is that what you wanted to hear from me? Is that what you wanted from your best friend.”
Iris wipes her tears with a scowl on her face. “Yeah, and you didn’t even give me a chance to choose it.”
“Iris…” Linda inches toward her but Iris inches back with her hands up.
Iris sighs. “... I am jealous of you Linda. I’m jealous that you’re pregnant. I’m jealous that you can just leave a startup business and not be affected financially. I’m jealous that you get along with your mother. I’m jealous of how free-spirited you are.” Heavy tears fall from Iris’s face. “... and I am so jealous that life seems to constantly give you passes.”
Linda can only breathe because she doesn’t know how to respond.
Neither do Keisha or Cecile as they listen from the sidelines.
Iris then continues. “... but I forgive you, Lin. I just need some time to do it.”
Linda’s forehead creases. “... what?! Iris, are you serious right now?”
“I am…” Iris answers and she is so sure about this choice.
Linda snorts. “Soooo, you can forgive Barry but not me?”
“I said I needed time. And what does Barry have to do with any of this.” Iris responds with a hint of attitude.
“He has everything to do with this!” Linda yells.
Keisha then clears her throat, signaling for Linda to turn the volume down a couple of notches.
Linda huffs then continues with a lower tone. “He lied to you how many times? Oh, and let’s not forget the whole debacle with his three exes.”
Iris hums a laugh. “Yeah, seems that my best friends have that in common.”
“Hmm, wonder why?” Linda questions with much sarcasm.
Iris then hardens. “... you know what Linda? Perhaps I need more time to figure it out as well. So, you can either stay here and enjoy the festivities of my boyfriend’s birthday or you can leave. Whatever you choose it no longer matters to me. We are done here.” Iris forces a lift of her lips and exits the kitchen.
……
Joe sits up in his lounge chair as he hands Luke his fishing pole. “... wait, so what’s sexting again?”
Barry turns red with embarrassment. He and his friends should never be having this conversation with his soon-to-be father-in-law.
Rene with much excitement pulls out his phone. “Here, pops. Read some of these.”
Joe grabs the phone, reading through the text.
“Is this really necessary?” Barry questions with a cringe.
“Yes.” Rene and Joe answer at the same time.
Luke and Wallace just laugh and start storing all the fish that’s been caught.
Joe’s eyes widened with excitement as his lips parts while scrolling through the phone. “... and this works?”
“Every time,” Rene responds with confidence.
“Well, this is kinda funny and disgusting at the same time.” Wallace murmurs and Barry silently agrees.
Joe smiles wide. “... mmm, imma have to send some of these texts to Mrs. West sometime.”
“Spare me, please!” Wallace whimpers.
“Me too,” Barry mutters under his breath.
Then Linda storms outside with bags. “Wall, come on. We’re leaving!” She yells with an angry stride toward their car.
Linda understands Iris’s frustration but she isn’t staying anywhere she isn’t welcomed. Neither Keisha nor Cecile put up much of a fight for her to stay anyways.
“Leaving?!” His brows furrow. “But we just got here.”
“We have overstayed our welcome. Can you please go inside and get the suitcases.”
Wallace then turns toward his father. “Dad…”
Joe sighs and then stands. “I’ll go see what’s going on.”
Joe and Wallace walk toward the cabin while Linda packs the car with her stuff.
“Trouble in paradise,” Rene murmurs.
“Shut up and fish.” Barry reprimands as he cast his line for the final time.
……
Joe enters the living room where Iris is playing with the children. “Iris, did you kick Linda out?” He hopes she hasn’t.
Iris’s face displays offense. “No, she’s leaving on her own and taking the other lair with her.”
Wallace follows behind his dad. “Iris, how many times are we supposed to apologize about this before you get over it?” He instantly regrets his words as soon as they fall out of his mouth.
… and without taking her heated eyes off her brother Iris says… “Poppa, Jenna can you two go upstairs and play. Dinner should be ready in ten minutes.”
“Okay, mommy.” DJ gallops up the stairs.
Jenna knows that look though reluctantly follows DJ.
Joe wants to interject before his kids have a blowup. “Iris…”
“Holdup dad.” Iris raises her hand. “It’s only been a month, Wall. So you expect me to just forgive two people that have been lying to me for months.”
Wallace sighs in defeat.
“... and let me guess. Linda made this elaborate plan of ignoring, avoiding, and lying just to protect me, right?”
He hesitates. “... she thought it would be best-”
“I know what’s best for me!” Iris raises her voice.
“Iris,” Joe tries to calm her with a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“No, dad.” Iris moves from his touch. “I am so sick of everyone thinking I need saving. I am no damsel nor am I a strong woman.” She pauses for dramatic effect. “I am just me and I am allowed to be hurt and mad about the choices you two have made in protection of me.” She emphasizes the word protection, hoping he understands that she means the opposite.
Iris then continues with the same speech she told Linda. “... now, same thing I said to her I will say to you. You can either stay here and deal with my expressions of irritation and hurt or you can leave.”
Again Iris exits the room, leaving her father and brother to make the decision that she offered.
……
His forehead creases in confusion as he sees Linda and Wallace pack up and leave. “Hey…” He calls, setting his fishing pole down as he jogs over toward their car. He then reaches the driver’s side. “Hey, where you guys going?”
“We’re leaving, Barr.” Wallace answers.
Barry’s confused. “... why?”
Wallace puts his car in reverse. “Ask my sister.” He then backs out of the driveway and navigates onto the dirt road, leaving Barry standing in puzzlement.
Iris then comes outside. “Boys dinner’s ready.”
Luke and Rene race inside with Barry trailing in. “Babe, why’d Wall and Linda leave?”
Iris shrugs. “They choose to leave on their own.”
He can tell from her nonchalant act and that loud argument earlier that she’s hiding something. “Iris,” He drags with a knowing look.
“We’ll talk about it later.” She mumbles under her breath as she pushes him toward the living room.
He laughs as he allows her to push him forward.
Then his mouth drops and his eyes sparkle as he sees Keisha holding a cake filled with candles and his family surrounding it.
… and everyone joins in and sings. “Happy birthday to ya. Happy birthday to ya. Happy birthday. Happy birthday to ya. Happy birthday to ya. Happy birthday.”
Rene pops locks.
DJ and Jennna bounce and dance with glee.
Keisha does all the extra runs.
And everyone else sings and rocks side to side with bright smiles.
“Happppy birthday. Happpppy birthday. Happppy birthday. Happppppy birthday. Happppy birthday. Happppy birthday.”
Barry flushes with his clasps hands over his mouth and a wide smile. He feels an immense amount of love.
Keisha then ends the song with a long rift. “Happy birthday to you.” She points. “Barr, bestie and future brother-in-law.” She then walks toward him and gestures for him to make a wish.
He wraps his arm around Iris waist, brings her close, and then beckons for his son with his finger.
DJ hugs his dad’s hips as he smiles up at him.
… and with a hand around Iris and the other on his son’s back, he closes his eyes and makes his only wish.
“Yay,” Everyone cheers.
“Now, let’s eat and cut this cake.” Rene rubs his hands together, preparing to eat.
……
Barry has had an eventful adventure. He fished but didn’t catch much. He ate. He hiked though Keisha and the kids didn’t enjoy it that much. He ate again, mostly cake. He gambled in a couple of card games and won and Rene lost major. Joe even told stories around the campfire. This is the best birthday he’s had in a while.
Barry is now lounging on the couch with Iris, watching a movie with the kids.
Iris’s head is on his chest with her hand messing with the hem of his shirt. “... did you love my surprise?” She whispers, not wanting to disturb the little ones.
“Mhmm,” He nods, kissing her forehead. “This mini vacation is probably the best birthday I’ve ever had.”
Iris’s brows lift. “Ohh, I’m doing that good?”
He nods and wraps his arm around her. “Yep, you’re up there girl.”
Iris snorts and squeezes his side.
He then yawns.
“... you tired, honey?”
“Yeah, a little. Seems everyone went to sleep except for us.”
Iris can see the sleep set into his eyes. “... let’s go to sleep.” Iris nods toward upstairs.
He agrees without saying a word as he stands.
Iris claps her hands together. “Alright, kids time for bed.”
“Awe, do we have to?” Jenna complains.
“Yeah, do we have to?” DJ repeats.
“Yes,” Iris voices.
“But mom promised us a sleepover in the living room,” Jenna replies.
“She did?” Iris inquires.
“I did…” Ceciles comes down the stairs with blankets and pillows. “Kids come help me in the kitchen. I’m making hot cocoa.”
Barry mopes. “... awe, I want hot cocoa.” He watches as Ceciles and the children leave the room with smiles.
Iris rolls her eyes. “I’ll get you some when they’re done.”
He smiles wide though his eyes are still tired. “Best birthday ever!”
Iris laughs while shaking her head.
……
Iris enters the rustic cabin bedroom with two cups of hot chocolate.
Barry claps with eagerness as his bare toes wiggle and his smile stretches.
“You’re such a dork.” Iris laughs as she sits next to him up against the headboard.
“Gimme, gimme.” He rushes her.
With a roll of her eyes and a smile, Iris hands him his cup. “Happy birthday, handsome.”
He drinks and moans. “... mm,”
“Babe,” Iris laughs at the chocolate mustache on his upper lip.
“... what?” He mumbles through gulps of chocolate.
“You have chocolate all over your lips.” Iris licks and kisses the chocolate off his lips.
“Mmm,” He kisses her back and a thought comes to mind. “... was just about to say the corniest thing.”
Iris snorts. “Hmm, let me guess?” She then purses her lips and squints, doing the smolder. “Girl, I want chocolate all over my face. Now come sit on it.” Iris does her best smooth voice while licking her lips.
Barry laughs hysterically. “I don’t sound like that and would never say that-”
Iris gives him a look.
He lifts his hand. “... okay, I wouldn’t say those words in particulate.”
Iris takes his cup and puts both of them on the dresser. “Then what would you say?”
He purses his lips and squints, putting on the charm. “... girl, let me devour you as I did my breakfast this morning. Now come sit that chocolate on my face.” He winks and wiggles his eyebrows.
Iris burst out laughing with her hand on her stomach. “What the hell was that.” She continues to laugh, tears in her eyes.
He chuckles. “It was dirty talk.”
“Woo…” She wipes the corners of her eyes. “That was so fucking cheesy.” She laughs, falling onto his lap.
He twists his lips and slouches against the headboard. “That, that wasn’t sexy?”
Iris turns with her chin on his chest. “Mm, kinda cute.”
He nods with pursed lips and folded arms. “Whatever.”
Iris climbs on top of him, straddling his waist. “Don’t get an attitude.”
“Or what?” He challenges with a smirk.
“... or you won’t get your final birthday present.”
He scans her body. “What is it?” He voices in a low tone as his hands smooth up her thighs.
Iris smacks his hands. “Not that, horndog.”
He laughs.
Iris then leans over and grabs his present out of the dresser. “Here,” She hands him a squared small box. “Happy birthday, babe.” Iris isn’t the best gift giver but wanted this birthday to be special for him.
He then sits up with a nervous smile. “... Iris,” He gasps as his eyes gleam.
Iris watches as he grabs the gold ring on the box and slides it onto his finger. “... yeah, you always buy me shiny things. So, this time it’s your turn.”
He kisses her cheek. “I love it…” He then holds his hand up and notices initials on the ring but it doesn’t match his or her name “ET… the movie? Babe, I thought we discussed that The Matrix Reloaded was my favorite movie. ET’s top five for sure though.” He explains, rambling.
She then grabs his face and sighs. “... you are such a geek, haha.” She shakes her head and laughs. “It means every tomorrow….” She pats his cheek and then caresses his beard fondly.
He sobers as his eyes gloss, understanding the meaning behind her words. “Thank you, I will never take it off.” He pecks her lips.
Iris notices his emotion. She then grabs his hand and kisses it so sweetly. “... you okay?”
He tries to half smile. “It’s just that I want forever with you but-”
Iris cuts him off. “You’re nervous. About the appointment?”
He nods. “I was hoping it would be done and over with but the doctor pushed the appointment back some weeks.”
Iris’s brows lower. “When did you find that out?”
“Uhh, got an email after we cut the cake.”
Iris can feel the nervousness radiating off of his body. She then holds his hand with both of her, putting it to her chest. “Baby, it’ll be fine, promise… and I will be with you the whole time.”
“That’s nice.” Barry then raises an eyebrow. “Wait, the whole time?”
“Yeah…” She says matter of factly.
“Iris, you can’t come with me when I…” He pauses, hesitant. “... when I cum.” It’s too personal and sterile and not arousing at all. Just a standard jerk in the cup.
Iris’s lips part as she is taken aback. “Of course, I can.”
“Babe, it’s embarrassing. I don’t want you watching me jerk off.” Because he’ll be going pretty fast, finishing as fast as he can just to get it over with.
“... and why not?” Iris pushes his shoulder and his back hits the mattress. “It’s not like I haven’t heard you before.” She shrugs nonchalantly.
His eyes widened in shock at this information and her dominance. “What?!”
“... what?!” She mimics with a goofy face and laughs. “First morning in Happy Habor.” Iris appreciated the thin walls and loud grunts.
Barry’s speechless with his lips parted.
Iris smirks. “You were in the shower and I could have sworn I heard the distinct moans of my name.”
He tries not to blush as his ears turn red. He did indeed cum in the shower with images of her on his mind. “Well, hearing and seeing are two different things.”
Iris then has an idea. “Correct,”
He watches with bated breath as she lays close to him and whispers hotly.
“... so show me.” Her fingers linger over his bare chest as her teeth nip at his neck.
He’s breathless and hot as her kisses move to the other side of his neck. “Iris…” He whispers.
“I’m positive that everyone is asleep.” She murmurs into his ear as her fingers slide into the waistband of his pants.
His eyes roll close and he licks his lips at the feel of her hand stroking his growing erection.
Iris morning through evening has been all about planning, prepping, and bits of arguing. It’s a regular weekend for her. But nights are her favorite part of the day. She gets to relax and succumbs and delight in intimacy with the love of her life. “Come on birthday boy. Give me a show…”
Iris kisses him with much arousing passion. She then moans at the feel of his penis twitching in her hand.
Barry’s limbs are tingling with arousal. He then slips his thumbs into the waistband of his shorts and slides them down.
His penis flops out of his pants, bobbing against his stomach.
“... mmm,” Iris hums and licks her lips at the site.
His flesh is hot to the touch as he wraps his hand around the base and strokes with slow movement.
Iris continues to nip at his neck and chest, kissing his courtless freckles.
He sucks his bottom lip into his mouth and bites. “... oomph,” he grunts at the feel of her lips and his hand. Pre-cum spills from his tip and he grips tighter and rubs faster.
Iris’s nails graze across his abdomen as she watches him with lust. “Ooo, your sound so hot, handsome.” She purrs into the side of his face and kisses and sucks on his earlobe.
… and from her word, kisses, and touch Barry’s coming to an end as Iris drapes her upper half over him, nose to nose, mouth to mouth, and whisper. “You’re so close, huh? You’re gonna cum? Huh? Tell me, baby.”
“Ughh,” He grunts, tugging harder and faster as his muscles tense.
Iris can see the heat in his eyes and the clench of his jaw, knowing he’s seconds from exploding. It’s quite erotic and allure how sexy this moment is. It makes Iris curious and moist and ready to explore more.
He’s at the end and feeling the tightness in his balls and sparks in his gut.
Barry then cums, hips thrusting upward as he spills over his hand and stomach. “... best birthday ever.” He breathes with exhaustion.
Iris laughs and then he laughs as she cuddles into his damp chest. “You’re such a mess.” She teases.
He snorts. “It’s your fault.” Barry then leans over for a random shirt on the floor and wipes himself clean.
Iris then wraps her arm loosely around his waist, cuddling into his side. “It sure is.”
He puts his arm around her, rubbing her back. “Kiss.”
Iris then leans up, pecking his lips. “Love you,”
Barry caresses her face. “I love you too.”
Then there’s a random noise coming from the wall, breaking up their intimate moment.
“Is someone beating on the wall?” Barry asks with knitted brows.
Iris sits up with confusion written on her face.
“WHORES IN THIS HOUSE. THERE’S SOME WHORE IN THIS HOUSE. THERE’S SOME WHORE IN THIS HOUSE. THERE’S SOME WHORE IN THIS HOUSE.” Keisha sings and plays the song at the same time.
“I SAID CERTIFIED FREAK, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. WET ASS PUSSY MAKES BARRY’S PULL-OUT GAME WEAK.” Keisha sings and laughs while beating on the wall.
Barry is in disbelief but can’t help but to laugh hysterically which causes Iris to laugh too.
“Happy birthday, bestie,” Keisha yells from the other side of the wall. “Now, go the hell to bed. I can hear ya’ll.”
Barry cringes but can’t stop laughing. “... sorry,”
Iris then brings his attention back to her. “She’ll get over it.” She waves off. “... now, where were we?”
He smirks. “Hmm, something about you sitting on my face.”
Iris’s smile is seductive. “.. now that’s sexy.”
