Ash's long-time best friend who was once Pewter City's Gym leader watched the scene unfold in front of him. Clemont seems to be focused on his new invention, and Bonnie listens excitedly as the new addition to the group tells them about Ash's past adventures. But with all of Ash's new companions, he found Serena the most interesting. The more he talked about Ash's past mistakes to tease the increasingly blushing kid, the more the girl becomes vocal with her defenses. It seems like Ash can do no wrong for her.
Hmmm.... "Whenever Ash made mistakes in the past, Misty and I were there to set him straight."
Ash groaned and hid his face with his hands.
"Misty?"
It's not the first time he mentioned another girl's name, and Bonnie seems to be interested in all of them. Something about introducing them to his brother. This question came from the honey-haired though.
"I think I know Misty!" exclaimed Bonnie. "Isn't she the girl you call at least once a week, Ash? I'm sure I heard you say her name before."
Not surprising to Brock. After all, Ash still calls him for advice sometimes. "Misty was Ash's first human companion. If I remembered it right, she joined Ash on the very first day of his journey!"
"More like stalked me for her bike," Ash mumbled.
"Careful there my friend. If Misty's here, her mallet would have brought you to the ground by now."
Ash grinned, "She can try." His Pokegear suddenly went off, face paling when he saw the name on the screen.
Brock laughed. "I guess she knows you're talking bad about her," he teased. "Well, aren't you answering it?"
Ash answered the Pokegear, standing up to talk to the girl in private, but Brock didn't let him leave.
"Hey, love. I have this feeling you're missing me, so I called. Did Brock give you my gift yet?" An undeniably sweet voice of a girl left the gear's sound system. Everything halted. Brock's eyes widened. Clemont dropped his tools. Bonnie grinned widely as though she was already privy to this news. Serena's shoulders fell.
"Since when?!"
