Comfort Food

Summary:

Jungkook isn't the average depiction of an omega, he's class president, strong-willed, defensive, and has everyone in his school wrapped around his small finger.

He doesn't have a pack to back him up though, the omega is packless. Sure he's dated around but his stubborn nature makes things difficult.

When he gets a package and a letter from his beloved grandma he doesn't expect to be receiving the suprise of a life time in the form of six sweet puppies for the omega to take care of.

Six sweet puppies who happened to transform into a pack of six attractive alphas...

Chapter Text

Jungkook, the omega, ran his hand through his black hair and focused on the pile of papers in front of him. He still had a lot left to complete, as the student council members didn't meet his unrealistic standards of accuracy and efficiency. The paperwork had begrudgingly become his responsibility.

Feeling tired, he rested his forehead against the cool surface of the desk, hoping to take a quick break. He didn't want to fall asleep before finishing his task, he couldn't, not quite yet.

"Still have papers left Kookie?" Yugyeom opened the sliding door walking in and holding a stack of books with one hand. Jungkook lifted his head up, placing his elbow on the table so he could rest his chin on the palm of his hand.

Jungkook let out a long sigh, allowing it to linger in the air for a moment longer than intended. "Yeah I still do have a lot to finish, but if everyone could get them right, I wouldn't need to," he said with a hint of annoyance in his voice. Yugyeom winced as he set the stack of books down on one of the few remaining desks.

As the sun began to set, the classroom was dimly lit with just a hint of light. The looming darkness made him eager to finish the paperwork so he could finally get some rest. Although it was Thursday and he should be out enjoying himself, he recognized the importance of completing the paperwork.

He heard a creak looking up, Yugyeom was dragging one of the wooden chairs up to his desk with a determined look. "I'm going to help you whether you like it or not, at this rate you will be at the school all night trying to finish this damn paperwork."

Yugyeom reached out, and Jungkook protectively put his hands on the paperwork to keep them back. "I love you Yugyeom, but absolutely not, how can I trust you won't mess this up." Yugyeom leaned back with a pout, amusement still evident in his eyes.

"I'll do exactly what you are doing, handwriting and everything, just how you like it," he smiled. Jungkook was still reluctant, he slid a few papers Yugyeom's way, and the boy quickly grabbed more from Jungkook's neatly crafted pile.

"Yugyeom!" Jungkook whined, watching the boy do quick work of his papers. "Silence Kookie, accept the help," he quieted down for now. He would surely scold Yugyeom later if he noticed any inconsistency in his papers, but for now, this would work.

He appreciated Yugyeom for the most part, he's known this boy since childhood. They even lived together for a short period of time before Yugyeom found his own pack. By now he was at least somewhat used to Jungkook's weird perfectionist habits.

They made quick work of most of the papers, "How are you and Sehun getting along." Jungkook froze up letting out an unintentional groan. He was hoping to avoid the topic of his semi-boyfriend for the day.

Yugyeom's eyebrow raised, "did you finally dump him? Congratulations Koo," Yugyeom's smile faltered when the other Omega shook his head. Sehun and he had been dating for what seemed like forever, it made sense to Jungkook.

Sehun was calm, attractive, and decent to Jungkook, and dating him made people for the most part stop asking him out. He was a beta but acted like an out-of-control Alpha most of the time, it was one of his worst flaws.

"Still the same, horny and begging," he grumbled signing away the last of the papers, placing them in order in the manilla folder. Yugyeom rolled his eyes pushing the papers into a similar folder, this one being green.

"I wish you would dump him already, he isn't going to stop till he gets what he wants and you know that." Yugyeom wasn't one to question Jungkook's decisions most of the time, Jungkook was smart, top of his class, and student council president, he managed to have everyone wrapped around his finger even if he was an omega.

Both the boys made their way out of the school still talking to each other, "I am aware, if I break up with him not only will I have an angry beta to deal with, but a bunch of horny alphas who see me as free real estate to reject as well."

Yugyeom shrugged, smiling at Jungkook, "So then what are you going to do? Your heat is in two weeks Jungkook." The omega flinched thinking about it for a moment, like every other omega, including Yugyeom, he absolutely despised his heat.

Yugyeom not so much anymore, since he had six doting betas and alphas at his beck and call whenever he needed it. "I'll tell Sehun what I said to him last time, I don't want any help with my heat, and if he tries to help he's getting a punch to the face."

Yugyeom rubbed his cheek, "You sure are stubborn Jungkook, eventually you are gonna need to find someone to deal with your heats, hopefully, someone who actually cares about you." Jungkook crossed his arms shaking his head.

"Whatever," he rolled his eyes. "I don't need some strong willing Alpha to take care of me, I can do that all on my own." He grumbled keeping his eyes on the ground, it was a sore subject Yugyeom managed to bring up any time he had the chance.

Jungkook knew it was cause he cared, he was there to bring Jungkook food during his heats and saw the state the omega would be in. Begging for help, yet rejecting it at the same time, it was a pain to watch, and an even worse pain to be in.

The omega particularly had bad heat too, thanks to inconsistency and fertility issues he was left dealing with it more than he should. Worse cramps, worse cravings, the pills he took to regulate it barely helped, but he still tried.

"You say that now, but the older you get the more your omega is going to crave an alpha, or at least someone to take care of you, you're nineteen kookie." Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck, Yugyeom was right, but he would rather get punched than admit it.

Jungkook was pretty heavy on the whole 'I can do things for myself' thing, it's what earned the respect of many of his high school teachers, alphas, and betas alike. He smelt like an omega, but from what people saw, he didn't act like one.

He didn't nurture, or nest, even if he wanted to. He pushed his instincts back all to please his parents. "Well my omega will just have to deal with it then I guess," he rolled his eyes, Yugyeom reaching out to shove the boy lightly.

"Yah! You are so silly Kook, if I had half a mind I should hit you just for thinking that way," Jungkook rubbed his shoulder glaring at the other, "You just did hit me, you idiot!"

"Not nearly as hard as I should have, that was barely a shove." Yugyeom flashes his bright smile. Jungkook almost envied the fellow omega, he unlike Jungkook basked in his instincts. It's what attracted so many alphas to the beautiful omega.

Yugyeom managed to land himself in a rather stable pack in their junior year of high school and Jungkook was left the only one in his friend group to remain packless. Sehun had invited him to join his pack many times but Jungkook declined faster than lights.

His omega didn't particularly like Sehun or his scent, he smelled like musky woodchips and it burned Jungkook's nose. The omega still dated Sehun though, he was likable and an easy way out of the many crushes people had on him.

Even if the beta was extremely adamant about being touchy with the Omega. Jungkook did not put up with it, slapping away the hands of the beta any chance he got, but he still couldn't bring himself to break up with Sehun. The consequences might just be worse than that.

"What the- Jungkook what's that on your front porch?" Jungkook looked in Yugyeom's direction noticing the massive cardboard box on his front lawn. It stood out and Jungkook was surprised none of his neighbors called him to mention it, it stuck out.

Jungkook jogged over along with Yugyeom, the box smelt really good. It was a mixture of so many different scents and the combination managed to not be too bad for the omegas sensitive nose.

"I didn't need anything delivered, especially nothing this big..." Jungkook murmured looking around the taped-up box. "Will you help me carry it inside Yugyeom, I'd rather open it inside."

He wanted the box off his lawn as soon as possible, the longer it was out here the more chance that a neighbor would spot it. The omegas quickly picked up the box, having to set it down lightly ever so often since the box was so happy.

"Why is this so damn heavy," Jungkook strained finally letting go of the box in his small living room. Yugyeom wiped the sweat from his forehead grabbing the small envelope that was attached to the top of the box.

He opened it before Jungkook had the chance to grab it, skimming it over. "Oh, oh my, Jungkook you should probably read this." The omega raised an eyebrow quickly grabbing the dainty letter, reading it over.

Dear Jungkook,

It has been some time since we last saw you. I understand that you may not feel like visiting your parents at the moment, but your Grandma misses you dearly and would love to see you soon.

I am saddened to see that you still have not found a pack to belong to. Please know that I care for you deeply and want you to thrive. As an omega, you still deserve to live a fulfilling life. Though I cannot provide that for you, I have a gift for you.

Enclosed in the box are items that will help you through difficult times. I hope to see you soon.

With love,

Grandma <3

Jungkook lowered the envelope confused, "the stuff in the box will take care of me? The hell does that mean." He was used to his grandma being cryptic, but it had been a while since she had talked to him so how did she even know he was pack-less.

"Did your grandma gift your sex toys?" Jungkook's mouth fell agape and he quickly flushed starting to laugh. He grabbed one of the many pillows from his sofa throwing it at Yugyeom full speed, knocking the boy over.

"You stupid muscle bunny," Yugyeom groaned crossing his arms and pulling himself up from the ground. "Well, are you gonna open it? I'm dieing to know what your lovely grandma gifted you this time."

Jungkook's grandma had a habit of sending him stuff, it stopped soon after he stopped visiting his parents though. He imagined they had something to do with it, stupid rich parents and their stupid connections.

He felt the burning curiosity, quickly pulling away the tape. This box was labeled fragile so he was careful with it, not wanting to damage whatever was inside. He heard the distinct sound of a bark when he began to peel the tape off, jumping back.

"Oh, she did not!" Yugyeom jumped forward quickly moving to pull open the box gasping, "Oh my god she did."

Jungkook leaned forward noticing six puppies in the giant box, some sleeping while others were prancing around. Two were distinctly wrestling around, Jungkook put his hand over his mouth, "She went too far with this gift."

Jungkook scrunched his nose up, "god it smells like alpha in this box." He leaned forward picking up one of the puppies, reading the puppy's name as Jin.

"An alpha probably packed it Kookie," Yugyeom lifted another one of the puppies, reading it allowed. "Hoseok... this one seems excited." The puppy was wriggling around in Yugyeom's hands until he eventually relented letting it down.

"Look she even packed bowls for all the puppies and food, I can't believe she gave you six puppies." Jungkook groaned flushing as Yugyeom spoke. How the hell was he supposed to take care of one dog let alone six, with the vet visits and all he had no idea.

"You sure you don't want one," Jungkook offered. The dog in his hand, Jimin, growled as he spoke that and Jungkook quickly went quiet. It was almost as if the dog had understood what he said.

Yugyeom held his hands out in defeat, "I don't think they like me, it would be cruel to give away a gift like this from your grandma. If she gave it to you it's always with good reason," Yugyeom was right he thought. Holding onto the dog Jimin, this puppy specifically was almost orange in color, with a few white spots.

"Well fuck, how am I supposed to take care of them," Jungkook groaned brushing his hair back. The omega had enough to deal with, school, and work, and Sehun was enough, now he had puppies.

"Well, you have a backyard, with a doggy door conveniently installed cause unlike you the people who used to live here were fun and had dogs. All you gotta do is feed them, take them to the vet, and make sure they stay healthy.

Jungkook set Jimin down, the dog whining as he did, going to pick up one of the quieter dogs. While some yowled, and whined, this one remained pretty quiet, seeming to sleep most of the time while Yugyeom and Jungkook talked.

"Yoongi..." He read holding the puppy close, "You sure you can't stay the night Yugyeom, I don't know what to do with them." Yugyeom gave him a reluctant smile, and Jungkook sighed already knowing his answer.

"You know I would love to Koo, Jackson is nearing his rut and I should be there, besides it's Thursday and we have school tomorrow." Yugyeom put his hand on the boy's shoulder, rubbing it, Yugyeom was just trying to comfort him.

"Exactly, I have school tomorrow so what am I supposed to do with the dogs? It's cold out, I'm not cruel enough to let them sleep outside." Jungkook's eyes softened as he watched all the puppies moving around, finally all out of the box sniffing around, exploring their new home.

"Just let them sleep around, your home is pretty cozy for Omega standards, so it will be fine for puppy standards as well." Yugyeom smiled patting one of the dogs, who looked up at him with what Jungkook could only see as reluctance.

"That one is the only one that seems to like you Yugyeom," Kook pointed towards the one with the collared name 'Namjoon' This dog was a dark brown and seemed to carry himself better than the rest of the puppies.

It was slightly amusing to the omega, "I'll see if I can take them to the vet on Saturday, these puppies are a bit strange." He knelt down trying to break up a playful wrestling match between the puppies Jimin and the other one Taehyung.

"You are right, they all smell like Alphas, maybe they were bred by them, it's just really strong." Yugyeom pinched his nose, "My packmates are gonna think I was hanging around random Alphas, and I'm not sure they will exactly believe it's from puppies."

Jungkook shrugged, "It will go away with time, if they want proof they can just come over and see the puppies for themselves." Unlike how the dogs treated Yugyeom they surrounded Jungkook and seemed pretty comfortable with the boy already.

He would be cocky about it since he wasn't normally good with animals, or small things in general, but he didn't want to hurt Yugyeoms ego more. Even being an omega Jungkook managed to be the worst at taking care of things, he cared, but it was still rather difficult.

The other omega looked down at his phone, both boys having heard the notification coming from it. Yugyeom sighed checking it over, looking up at Jungkook with a sympathetic look. He pulled his jacket over his lengthy arms huffing, "Jinyoung texted me, Jackson is getting restless so I should probably go home."

Jungkook whined, he didn't do it often. Only around people, he was close to, it was the thing that made people remember that the boy was an Omega. Besides the scent it was hard to recognize, Jungkook covered his curvy body frame with baggy clothes, even his school uniform was baggy fitting.

Yugyeom flushed cupping Jungkook's face, "I'm sorry Koo, I hate to leave you like this to deal with the puppies but you will be fine. Though you hate to admit it, you are an omega, you nurture, you got this!"

Yugyeom finished it off by kissing the tip of Jungkook's nose. He was always so comforting to the boy it made him melt. Yugyeom was like this caring younger brother everyone wished to have, but he was Kook's friend, and he was so lucky to have him.

"Whatever," he hummed and Yugyeom flashed him a smile. It was hard to even be slightly mad at him when he would smile at you like that. Jungkook just felt his face heat up ushering out Yugyeom.

"Be safe, make sure to run home," Jungkook quickly snapped one of the black collars around Yugyeom's neck. They were scent blockers, if an omega would wear them it would block off the majority of their scent.

It was a safety measure but Jungkook still found himself wearing them any time he wasn't at home. It was bad since scents were how people could make sure you were okay, but he wasn't going to change any time soon.

Yugyeom adjusted the thin black collar opening the door, "Have fun with the pups."

Just like that, he was gone and Jungkook slowly turned around noticing that every one of the puppies was looking at him, just staring at him with those big sweet wide eyes.

"Well this is awkward," he murmured. He leaned over the giant box pulling out the twelve bowls his grandma had packed for him, water, and a food one, for each. He set them up in the walk-in pantry, he didn't keep much in there so it was best that it was where the puppies ate.

He quickly poured the food, just wanting to get this over with so he could fall asleep. His mind was getting cloudy, he completely zoned out while filling one of the bowls, food spilling over the edge.

He groaned quickly kneeling down to pick it up. Idiot he thought to himself, scooping up the food from the floor. The dog, Jin specifically pranced over to him on those cute little feet, rubbing his head on Jungkook's hand, either wanting the food in it or pets.

Jungkook opened his palm out offering it out to Jin, the pup sniffed it quickly taking the food from his hand to eat it. He couldn't help but smile, some part of him was glad his grandmother gifted him a companion, it'd be less lonely having these sweet dogs around.

He pets the dog on his head, finishing off the bowls. He was growing fond of the dogs already, they all seemed to like him, it was rare since many animals would shy away from Jungkook.

He stood up walking over to his bedroom, quickly showering. Getting dressed in his room, he was getting ready to pull up the covers when two of the dogs jumped on the bed.

"What no, Taehyung, Hoseok you can't sleep up here." Jungkook quickly picked up the two pups placing them on the floor, one of the dogs, Taehyung, let out a small whine.

When he went to get back up Jimin, and Yoongi were on the bed and he groaned moving to pick them up. Every time he tried to move one of the dogs the others he had just moved jumped back up on his bed, looking up at him with those yearning eyes.

He groaned pinching the bridge of his eyes, "You know what fine, you guys can sleep on the bed I'll take the couch." Jungkook grabbed one of his softer blankets walking over to the sofa, he heard the small pitter-patter of footsteps turning around.

The dogs were all following him, all but Yoongi who was already sleeping on his bed. He walked back to the bedroom and they followed, he walked over to the couch and they followed.

When he tried to lay down on the sofa the dogs quickly followed, and Jungkook let out a groan. "You can't be serious, I need my space pups." The dog, Jin, whined this time and he sighed finally relenting.

"I'm so glad I invested in a king-sized bed," he grumbled wobbling over to his bed. Sliding Yoongi over who perked his head up to look at Jungkook lazily. He resigned to the bed pulling the blankets over his head.

He actually slept well that night.
