Work Text:

Hanta struggled to keep his eyes open and on Katsuki like the blond in front of him was telling him to do.

He was sorry he’d made them worry so much, but they’d found him, so it was gonna be alright. He would tell them as much if he wasn’t almost positive his jaw had a couple of fractures.

But surely Katsuki could let him rest a little? Hanta had held on all that time, he deserved some shut eye.

His shoulders ached because of how long they’d been forced back behind the chair, but at least his arms had stopped hurting so much after the last time he’d blacked out.

Hanta just wished Shouto would hurry up and untie him, his fingers had fallen asleep so much they just tingled without responding when he tried to move them.

____

Katsuki struggled to keep Hanta awake and focused on him, talking with a voice as steady as he could get it.

He wanted to shout and rage seeing the bruises on Hanta’s face, the blood down his chin, the swelled parts.

The rest of his body was in a similar sorry state, purpled and straining, and Katsuki had a voice screaming in his head for him to go beat the villains who did this all over again. The few noses and wrists that had cracked felt like too little a price for what they did.

But Katsuki kept his position, dutifully talking to keep them all anchored while Shouto did what he could on the other side of the chair.

Ignoring the pool of blood under Hanta was becoming increasingly difficult, though.

____

Shouto struggled to keep his hands as steady as he could, even as tears streamed down his face and blurred his sight.

He could hear dogs barking in the yard behind the decrepit building the villains had been hiding in, torturing Pro Hero Cellophane because he’d captured them before. A minor crime, they’d served a minimal sentence, even getting out early on good behavior.

And then, this.

Shouto gritted his teeth, resisting the urge to go out in the yard to put an end to the dogs’ squabbling, the twin trails of red drops leading from where he was to the back door leaving him with no doubt about what they were fighting over.

He breathed through his nose, ignoring the stench of the blood he was kneeling in, and concentrated.

He brought his trembling right hand to Hanta’s shoulders, freezing the tape with which he’d mockingly been tied up with. The material went brittle, and he could hear Hanta’s relieved sigh at the cold, so he proceeded down his arms to give them a thin layer of cool frost to mitigate the pain.

He was finished way too soon. Because Hanta’s arms now ended before his elbows, his trademark tape dispensers gone. Sawed away.

As carefully as he could, Shouto applied a second layer of ice to the stumps, this time at least not having to see the crude butchered work left behind.

He then gave Katsuki the okay to finally move Hanta out of there.
