"Wahh!! Wahh!!"
The pitiful cries woke Stoopy from her light sleep. She groggily rolled over to check the time- the glowing yellow display read 1:00. Good lord, it was early!
They sleepily donned a jacket and slip-ons, making their way to the front door, and opening it. There, on the front step...
was a baby. It wriggled in a rattan basket, messing up the all-too-small white sheets that had been stuffed inside as it wailed and cried sorrowfully. Stoopy softly gasped, and that seemed to draw the baby's attention. It looked up at her with big, tear-filled eyes and made soft little whimpers, reaching out for her. She grabbed the tiny baby and went inside, locking the door behind her.
She set the baby down in the sink, having no-where else to put it, and turned on the electric fireplace, making up a nest of blankets and pillows, then retrieving the small stickfigure baby and setting it down a few inches away from the cozy nest.
The baby softly babbled and crawled over to it, nestling inside, as Stoopy bought up her laptop, spending the rest of the night researching how to take care of a baby.
