Chapter Text
Of course it happened during a major city-wide power outage. Where everyone was too distracted to have power back to realise he went missing.
20 minutes earlier
Buck was sent by Bobby to check on Michael's so called "neighbourhood gathering" he made once he realised barely anyone had power in the neighborhood except for Athena.
"Don't worry Buck.. You just have to check on this party and then you can go back to the station to see Eddie, yeah! That's not so hard right?" Buck muttered to himself as he pulled over across the street from Athena's house after seeing cars blocking half of the road.
As he hopped out of his truck he noticed a familiar face coming out of Athena's house to greet him, "Hey Buck!" Michael shouted from the door, "Glad you could join us on this fine afternoon!"
"Couldn't get any finer than this 'ey?" Buck smiled, walking himself up Athena's driveway and walking past Michael, who moved himself to the side to let Buck pass him.
"Let me guess, Athena sent you to see if we were doing anything illegal to her house?" Michael joked whilst following Buck towards the kitchen and straight to the drinks.
"No actually, Bobby sent me to come here as Athena asked him to check on you guys." He smirked whilst picking up a bottle of beer and flicking the lid off to swing the bottle.
"Same thing." Michael joked again, "Hey why don't you, yk. Stay for awhile?" He asked.
"Wish I could but yk, duty calls!" He clanked the beer bottle against Michael's as they both took another sip, before seeing a small sillouette run towards Buck.
"Buck!" Harry jamp, running towards the blonde male and diving into his arms, allowing Buck to embrace him into a hug.
"Hey my man! How are you Harry?" He asked, patting the younger males head whilst picking his beer back up from the counter."Good, except I've been told off for charging the guests who show up.." He rolled his eyes and picked up his phone that lay next to Buck.
"Harry we spoke about that, you can't charge the neighbours for wanting to spend time with electricity." Michael laughed before turning his gaze back to Buck. "Anyways I'll leave you two to it as I've got to sort out whatever brawls going on over there with the TV remote. Nice seeing you Buck!"
"Yeah, you too!" Buck smiled.
"Oh Buck, can we go play Jenga together? There's someone I want you to meet." Harry smiled, his eyes glaring up at the taller man who lifted his arm off of the counter.
"Of course! I love meeting new people." He laughed as the younger boy led him towards a table outside with a man sat at it. Buck knew he looked familiar but he couldn't place a finger on it, yet.
Buck should've realised sooner.
10 minutes earlier
The man introduced himself as Jeff, nothing else, just Jeff. He claimed that he was one of Athena's 'friends' and wanted to see how she was doing. Buck liked him, he seemed to be great with kids and had a bubbly personality. Kinda like Buck. Maybe that's the reason they clicked so fast.
"Buck did this crazy mission once from a crane whilst a sniper could've killed him! What a hero!" Harry exclaimed, shuffling the cards he placed in his palms.
"Haha yeah, it was crazy." Buck laughed, taking a sip of his beer only to realise it was empty, which 'Jeff' quickly picked up on.
"I'll get you another one." The brunette said, shooting up from his chair and taking the empty beer bottle away to dispose of it.
"Oh that's fine you dont-"
"I insist." Jeffery replied, "besides, I have to get myself one anyway." He finished, running into the kitchen to retrieve two more beer bottles from the fridge.
"Okay then." Buck smiled, turning his gaze back to Harry who handed him a set of cards to shuffle.
By the time Buck had finished shuffling them 'Jeff' had came back with the beers and handed one to Buck personally. The two men clanged their bottles together and took a sip before carrying on with the game they were setting up.
Buck had ignored the obvious signs already. The name, the familiar face, the beer bottle being opened already, the fizz coming out of said beer bottle, the look 'Jeff' gave him when he drank out of the beer bottle, the look he was given when he finished the beer bottle and the alarm bells ringing in his head as he placed the bottle back onto the table they were sat at.
One thing Buck did however notice was the wave of nausea that flowed through his body.
"Hey um I'll be- back in a second." He shot himself up out of his seat, knocking his knee against the table as he did so.
"Oh okay," 'Jeff' replied, "are you okay? You've gone really pale.."
"Yeah, I'm fine." Buck said, not wanting to worry his new friend. "Just tell Harry that I've gone to the bathroom for afew minutes please."
"Yeah, of course I can. Take care Buckley." Jeff said, sitting himself back in his chair with ease.
Buck ran towards the bathroom door, not adknowledging the fact that the man called him 'Buckley' when he didn't tell the man his last name, or the fact that the man who was sat down was now walking away from the table, and towards the circuit box.
As soon as Buck was in arms reach of the toilet seat, he dove to his knees and allowed himself to spew fluids out of his mouth and into the toilet bowl. He didn't know when this rush of sickness had came from as he had only had 2 beers, but he did know that he should be heading back to the station by now.
Buck gathered himself off his knees and stumbled towards the bathroom door, twisting the knob and opening it to see a familiar face staring at him through the door frame.
"Jesus Buck you look terrible." 'Jeff' said, his face twisting as he spoke. "Here let me take you to your car." He finished, wrapping an arm around Bucks' and linking them together to hold him upwards.
"Oh that's fine you dont-" Buck was about to reply when the man interrupted him.
"No no, I insist. It's the least I can do really." The man said, escorting Buck outside of the house and down the street to an alleyway and walking arm in arm down it.
"Wait, thats n't where I par'ed m' c'r.." Buck slurred out, the alarm bells screaming at him as they took another step towards a parked vehicle.
Buck was too late to realise the signs as he felt his knees begin to give out, and only relieing on the support of the other male to hold him upwards as he blinked in confusion.
Buck was about to speak again when he felt a hand cover his mouth and a cloth was firmly held in place over it. Buck clawed at the hand, desperate for it to move as he cried out. He felt his knees slam against the concrete floor below him as he whimpered in pain behind the hand, his hands began to wrap around the other male's wrist as he slammed his palm against the man's face in agony. Buck felt tears dripping down his eyes as the man spoke, "Oh and by the way Jeff's just a nickname. My real name is Jeffery Hudson, you would know about nicknames wouldn't you Evan, as for some reason Athena calls you her 'son' on occasions. Doesn't she?" Buck then felt a prick in his neck as he saw the man drop an empty needle onto the ground and lifted Buck off of his knees.
The last thing Buck saw was the man take the cloth off of his mouth and shoved it back into his pocket, before dragging the now unconscious male into the trunk of the car and slamming it menacingly.
"Who knew that skank had two sons rather than just one. And that the other son was a handsome fireman who worked with her ugly husband. Hmm." Jeffery muttered to himself whilst opening the car door and slipping himself inside, starting the engine and driving away from the crime scene he'd just commited. Payback.
Unbenounced to Jeffery however is that he'd just taken a first responder. With first responder parents and first responder friends and first responder family. He was screwed.
