Work Text:
Frenchie came home to Roach cooking what smelled like vegetable stew.
“It smells good.” Frenchie said as he walked in the kitchen to see a frazzled Roach.
“It is good. You will eat it and like it.”
“I’m sure I will. Did you have a bad day?”
Roach hummed, not really answering. “Wash your hands and sit down please.”
Frenchie walked over to the sink, washing and drying his hands before taking his seat at their table.
“I had a very boring day, Lucius keeps trying to draw me even though I know Izzy would lose his mind if he caught us. Maybe I’ll invite him over to sketch us both.”
“Mmm.” Roach brought the pots of vegetable stew and couscous over to the table.
“He doesn’t have to, he’ll get over it eventually but it will be a really annoying couple of weeks.”
“It’s fine.” He grabbed the plate that was in front of Frenchie, putting down a bed of couscous and covering it with the vegetable stew. He set it down in front of him again and then picked up his plate, doing the same.
Frenchie waited for Roach to sit down before he started eating. Roach waited for Frenchie to take a bite before he started eating his own. He picked up his spoon, picking some food up making sure he got a little bit of everything. He blew on it before taking his bite.
He moaned, loving the flavors that exploded into his mouth. “I knew it, this is amazing, it feels like home, reminds me of you.”
Roach finally smiled and took a bite of his food. “I love being your home.”
“Do you finally wanna tell me about your day? Or are we pretending you weren’t grumpy when I came home?”
“We’re ignoring it. It is not your problem.”
“Hmm, sure babe but tell me about it when you’re ready.” Frenchie reached over and squeezed his hand.
