Chapter 1: The Man in my Dreams
Chapter Text
"Make a contract with me, and become a magical girl!"
-Kyubey
Outstretched a long and dark corridor. No matter how fast you were and no matter how much you ran, it went on forever, or that’s what it felt like at least. The only audible sound that could be heard was the heavy breathing and fast paced footsteps of one man, Michael J Mouse. He wasn’t sure how he got there, nor does he remember his reason for running, but he knew he had to be somewhere, and fast. His breath hitched suddenly as he saw a large door ahead of him. It towered over him like a tree in a forest, almost to an intimidating degree. He stopped in front of the door and with a deep breath, he pushed it open.
Mickey gasped at the sight before him. Buildings crumbled to the ground, and some were even thrown into the air. Rain poured from the gray sky, flooding the streets, and the wind roared as Mickey struggled to stay standing against it might. A terrifying creature floated with a twisted grin on its face. Its dress flowed in the wind as it laughed and mocked anyone that was close enough to hear.
Amidst the chaos, Mickey was able to spot the silhouette of someone on top of a building. The man stared up at the creature floating in mid air, seemingly teleporting across the buildings to get to it. Mickey watched in horror as a building suddenly crashed onto the man, only for him to immediately get up and block an incoming attack with the help of a shield on his wrist.
“That’s horrible!” Mickey shouted against the commotion
“It can’t be helped…One person can’t defeat this on their own, but he knew that and came here anyway.” Mickey turned to see a white cat-like creature sitting beside him. The little cat watched as the mystery man crashed onto a tree, before letting out a loud cry. Mickey nor the cat could hear what he was saying. “If he gives up the fight, this entire city will be destroyed. But…you have the power to change all of this.” The cat stared at Mickey “All this destruction…All this despair…You can change it if you want. The power to do so lies within you!”
Mickey looked at the cat with a glimmer of hope in his eyes “I…I can change this?” The tree branch holding up the mysterious man broke, and he began to fall into darkness. “Even someone like me can change how this ends?…” Mickey turned to the cat creature.
“Of course you can! Just make a contract with me and become a magical boy!"
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Hey! Hey Mickey! Get up! You’re gonna be late!”
A familiar voice called out from the outside of Mickey's bedroom as he shot up in bed. He groaned rubbing his eyes “I’m up…I’m up…” He slowly got out of bed “That was a really weird dream…” He stretched with a loud groan before heading down stairs.
The smell of eggs, toast, fruit, and coffee filled the house. Felicity Fieldmouse stood behind the kitchen counter plating the food for her and her younger brother. She hummed softly to herself before she heard a yawn coming from behind her. “mmmMorning Felicity…” Mickey rubbed his eyes tiredly. His black hair was frizzed up and his eyes were still droopy. He sat at the kitchen table with a loud yawn.
“It’s about damn time you got up sleepyhead! I was standing outside that door forever before you finally woke up!” She glared daggers at her brother, clearly annoyed. “For someone who works in Hollywood, you aren’t the most punctual!” She paused and took a deep breath trying to regain her composure “Anyway…I made breakfast…”
Felicity sat the breakfast plate in front of Mickey, as he struggled to keep his head up. “Awwww Fefe…You didn’t have to do that.” Mickey smiled at his sister as he began to enjoy the food she prepared for him.
“Don’t call me Fefe…It’s the least I can do. You are letting me stay here after all.” Felicity took a seat across from her brother and began to eat as well.
“Well I can’t just let my sister not have a home…I know things haven’t been easy since your divorce and the lack of stories to go around…”
Felicity sighed softly “Yes it has been bothersome. I know Frank meant well by offering me to stay with him, but I didn’t want to get in the way of him and his new wife. Morty and Ferdie also seem to enjoy her company, and I don’t want to get in the way of that.” She picked up their dishes. Mickey began to help her clean up, when he finally got a look at the clock. 9:30am.
“Oh no! I’m gonna be late!” Mickey immediately ran out to the kitchen.
Felicity just laughed behind him “He’d forget his head if it wasn’t attached.”
After a frantic wardrobe change and some hygienic practices, Mickey grabbed his bag and shoes “Bye Felicity! I’ll see you tonight!” He rushed out the door faster than you could say ‘Hot Dog!’
“Bye! Say hi to Donald and Goofy for me!” Felicity waved him off, and watched her brother hurry off towards the studio.
Chapter 2: Who Are You?
Summary:
Mickey meets the mysterious person from his dreams. When alone he asks Mickey a shocking question
Chapter Text
Mickey ran down the crowded sidewalk dodging people left and right. He continuously spouted apologies as he bumped and cut in front of people. He wiped the sweat from his forehead as the blazing summer sun beamed down onto his skin. As he was about to stop running and just perish on the spot, he spotted a familiar sailor outfit, along with a certain orange vest.
“Hi guys! Sorry I’m late!”
Donald Duck looked up from his phone, while Goofy gave a smile and wave. “Hiya Mickey!” Goofy breamed and patted Mickey on the back. “Did ya sleep in again?” He chuckled as Mickey nervously laughed and rubbed the back of his neck
“Yeah…I probably would’ve been even more late if Felicity didn’t wake me…”
Donald chuckled at his friend's embarrassment “Boy you really can’t get up on time to save your life! Just like back in highschool!” Donald continued to laugh while Mickey pouted at this.
“I don’t wanna hear it from the guy who was in the Navy!” He huffed before Goofy sighed with a smile.
“Well we better get going. You know how Clarabelle gets when we’re late.” Donald and Mickey nodded as the three of them took off towards the studio.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Before we begin I have a very important question!” Clarabelle slammed her hand down on a table “What’s the correct way to make a steak? Rare, Medium, or Welldone?! HORACE ANSWER!” She glared at Horace Horsecolar as he stuttered in shock.
“W-Well umm…You can make it any of those ways right?”
Clarabelle huffed “Exactly! You could make it any of those ways! Therefore you shouldn’t judge a woman’s love life by the way she cooks her steak!” She punched the table as it broke in half, startling the entire cast “I hope none of you settle for partners that complain about such things! And if you ARE the type that does, then fix yourself!” She crossed her arms.
Mickey nervously laughed and whispered to Donald “Guess the date didn’t work out…”
Donald grimaced at Clarabelle “What gave you that idea huh?”
Clarabelle sighed and brushed herself off “Well now that that’s out of the way, we have a new member of the crew coming in today!”
Everyone groaned as the new crew member walked in. He stood tall with short hair black hair and dark skin. He wore a long sleeve black shirt with loose blue jeans. Everyone let out small whispers and gasps.
“Damn he’s quite the looker” Donald chuckled.
Mickey gasped as he recognized him from his dream “There’s no way…It can’t be…” He stared at the man in shock. The man cleared his throat.
“My name is Oswald L Rabbit. It’s nice to meet all of you.” He nodded his head at everyone before staring at Mickey. Mickey gasped and flinched back, hiding slightly behind Donald and Goofy.
“Well then! Let’s all get to work!” Clarabelle exclaimed with a bright grin.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Oswald sat at a table talking to other cast members.
“So what did you do before joining this movie?”
“I was a singer at a bar…” Oswald answered.
“What do you like to do in your free time?”
“What about your favorite drink?”
Mickey, Donald, and Goofy watched as they all circled around Oswald.
“He’s quite the mysterious fellow aint he?” Goofy said tilting his head.
“Yeah…Hey Mickey do you know him from somewhere? I could’ve sworn I saw him staring at you…” Donald asked Mickey with a confused look.
Mickey sighed “I’m not really sure…”
Oswald then suddenly stood from his seat “I’m sorry…Today has been stressful for me…I’m not feeling well…” He walks away from the crowd then walked to Mickey staring down at him “Michael correct? Could you lead me to the break room?”
Mickey looked up surprised but nodded “U-Umm yeah sure…”
Oswald walked with Mickey through the studio, both of them walking in an uncomfortable silence. Mickey looked down at his feet before nervously speaking up “H-How did you know my name?”
Oswald didn’t even face Mickey when he answered “Clarabelle told me everyone’s names…”
Mickey looked up “O-Oh! Right of course…By the way the break room is-“ Oswald turned in the direction before Mickey could finish his sentence.
“This way right?” He began to walk down the hallway as Mickey followed confused.
“Ummm yeah that’s right…” He laughed nervously. “B-But how do you know you're way there? I mean you are new here and all…so I wouldn’t think…”
Oswald stayed quiet as he continued to walk down the hallway, a few people staring at the duo.
“Ummm mister Rabbit?”
Oswald gritted his teeth “Please…Call me Oswald.” He shoved his hands into his pockets.
“Oswald-“
“What is it?”
“O-Oh nothing! It’s just that you have an interesting name…B-But not in a bad way! It’s an old timey name and it sounds cool!”
Oswald suddenly stopped a foot in front of Mickey, turning around to face him. “Michale Mouse…Do you treasure the life you live now, and are your family and friends precious to you?”
Mickey was taken aback by the question but he stil managed to form some words. “Well of course I do! My family and friends mean the world to me!” He smiles brightly as Oswald stared him in the eye.
“Do you truly mean that?”
“Of course! I’d do anything for them!”
Oswald nodded his head. “Good…If that’s the truth then you won’t try to change…for anyone or anything. Otherwise you’ll lose everything you love.”
Mickey stared at Oswald, a look of fear across his face. What did he mean? Why was he telling him this?
“Don’t change…Stay as you are Mickey…Stay yourself forever…” Oswald turned suddenly and walked away leaving Mickey alone.
Chapter 3: I Met Him in a Dream
Summary:
After Goofy takes off to attend some important business, Donald and Mickey decided to visit Minnie at her Bakery. Mickey confides in them about the conversation he had with Oswald.
Chapter Text
Mickey, Donald, and Goofy all made their way outside of the studio. The sun was still hanging in the sky and a calm breeze blew through the air.
“Damn that new guy sure has some skills! He didn’t mess up a single line and did every stunt flawlessly!” Donald beamed positively “At this rate we’ll have a show done in no time!”
Goofy glanced at his two best friends “Yeah! Not to mention all these shots I got with my camera!”
Mickey listened to his friends talk, but he didn’t have much to add to the conversation. His mind still raced about what Oswald had said to him, his voice prevalent in his head.
“Good…If that’s the truth then you won’t try to change…for anyone or anything. Otherwise you’ll lose everything you love.”
“Don’t change…Stay as you are Mickey…Stay yourself forever…”
What did he mean by that?
Was it a threat of some kind?
It just didn’t make any sense.
“Well fellas I gotta get goin!” Goofy let out a laugh.
Mickey looked up at his tall friend, snapping out of his thoughts “Oh! You’re not gonna join us to visit Minnie?”
“No…Believe me I wish I could, but I have some business to attend to.”
Donald put his hand on his hip with a questioning look across his face “Another photo shoot?”
Goofy chuckled softly “Something like that yeah.”
Donald and Mickey both nodded. “Well then! We’ll see you tomorrow Goofy!” Mickey waved to his friend, and Donald did the same, before they both started walking in the opposite direction.
Once they had gotten out of sight, Goofy's smile faded away and he let out a heavy sigh. He began walking down the sidewalk, raising his hand, and looked at his middle finger. His face turned to a scowl as he stared at the silver ring on his hand.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“He said what?!” Donald blurted out, spitting out his coffee in the process.
Minnie sat by the duo holding a cup of tea in one hand and a donut in the other. “Oh my…That’s quite strange…” She spoke softly, a look of concern spread across her face as her boyfriend let out a heavy sigh.
“It doesn’t make any sense…I don’t even know him!” Mickey traced the rim of his teacup with his finger. He slowly picked up the croissant on his plate, and took a bite before swallowing it down, trying to savor the buttery flavor.
Donald groaned as he cleaned up the coffee on the table “Here I thought he was this cool guy but he’s a total psycho! If that creep ever tries anything I’ll snap him in half!” He slumped back in his seat crossing his arms.
Minnie chuckled at Donald’s dramatic body language before turning to Mickey “Mickey, are you sure you haven’t met Oswald before?”
Mickey rested his head on his hand thinking hard “Well…The reasonable answer would be yes-“
“Okay what do you mean ‘reasonable’? Either you met him or you didn’t.” Donald interrupted. His voice filled with confusion and a bit of annoyance.
“Well you’re gonna think it’s weird…But…I saw him in a dream last night…At least I think.”
Minnie, who had just taken a swig of tea, spit it out and began laughing uncontrollably. Donald couldn’t hold back either and laughed at his friend's words. Mickey stammered and blushed in embarrassment at his best friend and girlfriend's laughter.
“Oh my god! That’s great! You guys met in a past life and now fate has brought you back together again! Seems like you’re getting a bit too into the character huh Mick?” Donald teased as Mickey looked up.
“This isn’t funny! This is really getting to me! I don't even remember what happened in my dream!” Mickey groaned and put his head on the table beneath him.
Minnie rubbed Mickeys back in an attempt to comfort the distraught man. She had known Mickey for many years and has seen him like this quite a few times due to his acting job, but this felt different. “Well…If you want my opinion, I think you might’ve met Oswald somewhere before!” She offered a kind smile as Mickey turned his head to face her.
“What do you mean?”
“You may not remember him yourself, but your subconscious took note of him! Dreams tend to cue up random people we’ve seen to fill in the blanks!”
Donald looked over at the lovebirds “That’s one hell of a coincidence though Minnie.”
Minnie looked over at the sailor and shrugged “Yeah maybe so…” She giggled softly before standing and brushing herself off “Well I better start closing up for the day. Thank you both for stopping by!” The two men stood from their seats.
“Of course! It’s always nice seeing you, and getting your delicious sweets!” Mickey smiled then immediately went to kiss Minnie on the cheek. “See you later sweetheart! I love you!”
Donald rolled his eyes playfully at the couple's lovey dovey affection. Despite his playful teasing, seeing them like that made him miss his beautiful girlfriend.
Minnie waved the two off as they left the shop. The duo walked down the sidewalk.
“Hey Mick, do you wanna stop at the shopping district with me?”
Mickey looked at Donald with a smile “Of course! Something for Daisy or the boys?” Mickey knew how much Donald cared for his nephews and girlfriend. Donald might act all though and stoic at times, but all his friends and family knew how much of a softy he was for those he loved. Donald was always doing whatever he could for them, that’s one of the many reason Mickey valued Donald so much as a friend.
“Both actually!” The duo made their way through the shopping district, checking out everything they could. Mickey sniffed a few candles, the smell of cinnamon and apple filling with nostrils. He sighed softly before hearing something awfully strange.
“Help me!”
Chapter 4: A Whole New World
Summary:
Mickey and Donald find themselves in a witches labyrinth, where they see two familiar faces.
Chapter Text
“Mickey! Help me!”
Mickey looked around confused.
Where was it coming from?
He didn’t know if he should follow the strange voice, but they needed help.
He began walking around, Donald looking at him in confusion. Mickey kept walking, until he came across an abandoned three story parking unit. Cracks littered the wall, cobwebs strewn about, it looked like it had been abandoned for years, like no one had even set foot in there. He gulped before walking inside, coughing and sneezing from the piles of dust.
“Hello?…Is anyone here?…” He slowly and cautiously wandered the parking unit, before making it to the second floor. As he wandered the gloomy and dusty parking lot, a sudden crash caused him to whip his head around. A vent laid on the ground with a white creature laying next to it. The creature resembled a white cat. Its ears had long appendages sticking out of them, rings wrapped around the appendages, seemingly floating in the air. The creature was littered with scratches and gashes in its skin, its breath unsteady, and body limp.
Mickey slowly picked up the small creature, cradling it like a newborn baby. “Were you the one calling me?…” He pet the creature gently as it opened its eyes slowly.
“Help me…” The creature weakly choked out. Suddenly, a large gust of air flooded the area, causing Mickey to flinch and curl up slightly. He shakingly looked up to see a familiar face in front of him “O-Oswald?…”
Oswald towered over Mickey, staring down at the small creature in his arms. His outfit was no longer the long sleeve black shirt and blue jeans, but something that looked right out of a fantasy novel. He resembled something akin to a Victorian prince. He adorned a white long sleeved blouse with a teal vest covering the chest and stomach. His jeans were traded for long dark teal pants with a black belt wrapped tightly around his waist. Heeled black boots ran up to his knees, his pants seemingly tucked into them to avoid them flailing about. His neck was adored by a smooth white jabot, and while it was beautiful, the thing that caught Mickey's eye was a single golden earring that hung from his left ear. It appeared to be the shape of a spade, with a teal color to accompany it. The rim shined in the little light that was in the room, making it stand out.
“Get away from that creature.” Oswald spoke. His voice is low and demanding. He glared at the creature in Mickey's arms.
“He was calling to me for help!”
Oswald slowly began to walk toward Mickey, never taking his eyes off the creature.
“This doesn’t concern you…”
Mickey stood up and backed away “Why are you trying to hurt it?!” He snapped causing Oswald to raise a brow in surprise.
The two stood in silence for what seemed like an eternity, before Oswald stepped forward once again. He was about to speak, before he was sprayed with a fire extinguisher.
“Mickey! Over here!” Donald cried out.
Mickey ran behind Donald as he chucked the fire extinguisher at Oswald. The two took off running while Oswald looks around. As he looks around, the world begins to morph around him. The parking unit began to appear like an old manor. Clothes, paintings, fancy cars, and foot littered the place, while small raccoon like creatures with red hoods scurried around. Oswald scowled “Why is this happening now?…”
Donald and Mickey kept running as fast as they could away from Oswald. Donald looked to Mickey and began shouting. “He’s attacking you in renaissance clothing?! What the hell?! And what are you holding?! It looks like an anime mascot!”
Mickey stared down at the creature in his arms “I don’t know…I don’t know what’s happening, but it’s hurt! We have to help!”
As the two men reached the exit, it suddenly disappeared, replaced by a giant fireplace. The smell of cinnamon filled the air, and an uncomfortable heat surrounded them.
“What the hell?…Where’s the exit?! Where are we?!” Donald looked around frantically to try and find a way out of this twisted nightmarish place.
“Where are we?…Why is everything changing?…” Mickey kept close to Donald trying to assess the situation, but that didn’t last too long before they both spotted something.
“What's that?!”
Raccoon like creatures scurried out. They wore red hoods and had matches in their mouths. They all looked to be different types of food. Some looked like pumpkins, others resembled lollipops, and some resembled cheese. They growled and chanted in high whispy voices.
“La sorcière besoins à être nourris”
“Chasse pour proie”
“Manger la âme!”
Donald and Mickey stared at the bizarre creations with horror and confusion.
Donald began shaking his head “This is a bad dream…It has to be right?…Please let this be a dream!”
Mickey couldn’t do anything but freeze up. His head was spinning so much he could barely see. His body was shaking rapidly, like he was out in the snow without a coat.
The creatures kept getting closer, still chanting over and over. They began to light their matches and point them at the duo. Suddenly, they were blasted away as a brightly lit field covered the two males. Both looked around, their mouths agape in confusion and amazement.
“What the-“
“That was a close one, boys! You ought to be more careful!”
A familiar voice got their attention as they both turned. Donald’s eyes widened to see a very beautiful girl behind him and Mickey. “Daisy?!”
Daisy walked over to both men holding a beautiful gem accessory near a strip of police tape. In their panicked state, they had neglected to realize the circle of yellow police tape surrounding them. “That was very close…You boys could’ve gotten seriously hurt!” Daisy looked at the creature in Mickeys arms “Oh! You got Kyubey! Thank goddess!” She smiled brightly.
“Daisy what’s-“
“Great job Daisy!” Donald and Mickey gasped as Goofy walked over “Well I sensed two people in here, but I sure didn’t think it would be you fellas!” He chuckled at the shocked expressions on his friends' faces.“Well Daisy, I guess we have some explaining to do, but first things first…”
Goofy tossed a yellow gem into their air before swiftly catching it. “I’ll handle this!” A bright light came from the gem, and within a blink of an eye, Goofy's outfit had been completely changed.
His simple silly outfit had been replaced with an outfit resembling a monk. A yellow robe with a brown carrier belt around his waist, brown pants and sandals adorned his bottom half, and white bandages were wrapped around his hands and wrists. A group of six metal orbs were around his neck, but they didn’t seem to have any effect on Goofy's stance, despite them looking incredibly heavy. Goofy summons a metal staff and within seconds, rushes at the small raccoon creatures.
The creatures lept high in the air and dove and Goofy from every direction. He yelped as one bit and scratched at him. Goofy leapt into the air causing the creatures to crash into each other. As he stared down at the stunned creatures, he ripped the six metal orbs off his neck and tossed them at the creatures. One by one, the orbs collided with the creature's heads, causing their heads to implode. Fruit juices and crushed candy bits flew everywhere, from the creatures' imploded heads. Goofy looked around as a hoard of these creatures approached surrounding him, he chuckled as he summoned the metal orbs back around his neck. He leapt high into the air before summoning many of his metal staff. He took a deep breath, a calm smile appearing on his face. “Purified Energy Blast!”
Beams of yellow light fired down at the army of raccoon creatures, piercing through them like an arrow through an apple. They all fell one by one, letting off a bright yellow glow before fading away. He slowly floated back down to the ground, and looked around the area.
“Woah…That was amazing!” Mickey let out a soft gasp as the world around them shifted back into the old parking unit.
Donald sighed in relief as they were back to the real world, but he sooned smelled blood then looked in horror at Goofy's leg. “Goofy! Your leg!”
Goofy glances down at his leg, and spots a huge bite mark. Blood dripped down his leg and the pain finally caught up to him. He held his staff to keep balance. “It’s alright fellas!” He looked down at his leg as a light came from it.
“What the?! How?!” Mickey gasped. When the light went away, Goofy's leg was perfectly fine, like it hadn’t been damaged in the first place. Goofy suddenly whipped his head around, hearing footsteps approaching.
Oswald stood on the rail of the parking unit, staring at the four of them.
“The witch managed to escape but you should be able to catch it.” Goofy smiled calmly at Oswald.
“I still have work to do here.” Oswald glanced at Mickey, making him flinch.
Goofy stepped in front of his gaze still maintaining his calm demeanor “I don’t think you understand. I’m telling you that I’m willing to work with you.”
The two men stared at each other for awhile, before Oswald turned around and jumped off the railing, disappearing.

Chapter Text
A soft glow filled the room like a candle in a dark hallway. A gentle breeze flowed through the open walls while Goofy caused a soft glow to appear around the small cat creature. It soon perked up and jumped to its feet.
“Goofy! Daisy! Thank you so much!” The creature spoke in a childlike voice, it’s ears flopping about.
“Oh we’re not the ones you should be thanking. These two gentlemen are the ones that saved your life.” Daisy gave a soft smile to Mickey and Donald. Mickey chuckled noting a soft blush on Donald’s cheeks when she said that.
The cat creature turned to the two men “Thank you for saving me! My name is Kyubey!”
Mickey pet Kyubey gently. “Were you the one calling for me?”
“That’s right Michael Mouse” Mickey let out a small gasp.
“And Donald Duck.”
Donald was taken aback by this creature. “How do you know our names?”
“I have a favor to ask of both of you!”
Mickey tilted his head curiously, while Donald grimaced at his question being ignored. “I want you both to make contracts with me and become magical boys!”
Mickey and Donald blinked in confusion. They stared out into space for a moment, before snapping back to reality as Goofys outfit changed from this monk one, to his normal clothes.
“I suppose Daisy and I have some explaining to do. Why don’t you guys come to my house? I’ll explain everything there.” Daisy stood as Goofy helped her up.
“That’s a good idea. My apartment is pretty messy anyway.” She went to Donald and hugged him, Donald quickly returning the hug, before kissing her cheek.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Goofy unlocked the door to his home, and held the door open for his friends. His home was decorated with beautiful warm colors, and photos of wholesome memories filled the walls. Some of Max when he was young, some of Goofy and his friends when in highschool, and a beautiful duo picture hung right by the door. Half of the picture was Goofy at his wedding, while the other half was Goofy holding a baby Max in his arms.
“Like what you’ve done with the place Goofy!” Daisy walked around admiring the decor, while Donald looked around for a teenage boy.
“Where’s Max?” He asked as he went to sit down on the couch.
“Oh Max is out with his girlfriend on a date! He won’t be home for a few hours.” Goofy semi-shouted from the kitchen as he was preparing refreshments for his guests.
“So he finally got the girl huh?” Donald chuckled, stretching his arms
“Yeah! It’s been about a year or so since the whole Powerline concert fiasco, and they’ve been going strong since!” Goofy laughed and the smell of chocolate followed him. He placed a tray down on the table that had four cups of hot cocoa, along with some soft baked sugar cookies.
“Thanks Goofy!” Mickey said as he began to enjoy the sweet flavors way faster than everyone else.
Donald laughed at his best friend “You and your sweet tooth, Jesus!”
Mickey glanced at Donald with a sly grin “Says the guy that ate an entire tray of double chocolate sugar cookies at his uncles Christmas party.”
Daisy let out a small laugh as she sipped her hot cocoa, while petting Kyubey on her lap. “Guess it runs in the family huh?”
Daisy reminisced fondly of the Christmas where she had met Donald’s family. The triplets had eaten all of those cookies, and caused chaos from a complete sugar rush. Despite the havoc at the mansion that day, she knew that she truly loved Donald, and wanted to be a part of his crazy family.
Goofy cleared his throat and clapped his hands, gathering the attention of the three sitting around the table. “Well, let’s get down to business.” He looked at Mickey and Donald, with Daisy doing the same.
“Right! Since Kyubey chose both of you, you guys are now involved in the magical experience.” She fed some of her sugar cookies to Kyubey, him letting out a purr and sigh in the process.
“Magical experience?” Mickey said, though it was hard to understand due to the cookie that was shoved in his mouth.
Goofy and Daisy then revealed the beautiful accessories they were holding in the parking unit. Goofys was the color yellow, and had a small cross on top of it, while Daisys was a beautiful purple with a Diamond on top.
“Whoa those pretty!” Mickey stared at them, a slight glimmer in his eyes.
“These are called soul gems. When Kyubey chooses someone and makes a contract with them, a soul gem is created.” Daisy held her close to her chest admiring it. “It’s the source of our powers, and it proves that we’re magicals!”
Donald leaned forward, folding his hands together. “What’s this contract thing?”
Kyubey hopped onto the table and sat down “I will grant you both one wish! Anything you desire!” Mickey and Donald both looked at Kyubey astounded.
“Oh boy, really?”
“Anything at all?” The two men questioned, staring down at Kyubey.
“Anything at all! I can make the greatest of miracles happen!”
Mickey finished his warm drink before almost slamming the cup down. “That’s amazing!”
Donald looked at Mickey “Don’t get too ahead of yourself. There’s probably a catch.”
Kyubey sighed softly “Well yes. If you have a soul gem it will be your duty to fight witches.”
Mickey looked up as a feeling of confusion appeared on his face. “Witches? Are they different from magicals?”
Kyubey nodded slowly “Magicals are born from wishes, and witches are born from curses. Magicals bring hope to the world, while witches bring despair.”
Daisy looked up at Mickey and Donald with a serious expression. “Anxiety, depression, mistrust, rage, hatred…Witches sew the seeds of despair all over the world…”
Goofy nodded his head at Daisys words then spoke up himself “Suicides that can’t be explained and murders without motive…A witches curse is most likely behind it…”
Donald thought for a moment, trying to consider his words in a careful manner “But if creatures like that exist, then how come no one knows about them?”
“A witch is careful not to let humans see them. They hide deep within the labyrinths they create. That maze-like place you both were in, that was a labyrinth.” Kyubey explained.
Anxiety began to fill Mickeys body, as he shivered like a bug trapped in a spiderweb. The thought of that horrible place wasn’t something he wanted to remember.
“You were both in a lot of danger. Humans don’t survive often when they wander into a witch's labyrinth.” Goofy spoke in a low and serious voice. He spoke like a father who was giving their child a lecture, which makes sense. He did have Max as a son after all.
“You both fight these terrible things?” Donald stared at the both of them, a look of horror in his eyes. One of his best friends and girlfriend were putting themselves in danger and they never knew it?
Goofy nodded his head. “Yes. We risk our lives. That’s why I want you both to consider carefully before making a contract. It’s true that Kyubey will grant you any wish, but death is part of that deal.”
Mickey shrunk back in his seat, the anxiety from before only amped up even more.
“Oh Phooey…Now I’m stressed…” Donald sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck. He had liked the thought of having any wish he wanted granted, but was he really willing to risk his life for that?
He already risked his life once. The bullets…the missiles…the alerts blaring…He could still hear it all. Was a wish worth that much to have to risk his life again?
“It’s a tough choice, but maybe if you join Goofy and I on some witch hunts it’ll help! See what it’s like first hand!” Daisy smiles brightly, as Goofy also cracked a smile “That way you can truly ask yourself. Is there something you want so bad, you’d trade your life for it?”
Chapter 6: Oblivious
Summary:
After talking with Goofy and Daisy, Mickeys mind races with thoughts about this whole contract thing. He heads to a rooftop cafe to meet up for the witch hunts, only to be confronted by Oswald.

Mickey laid on his bed staring up at the ceiling. His head raced with thoughts about the day he had. Magic was real, and two of his closest friends are protecting the world from evil! It was honestly a lot to take in. The labyrinth, Goofy and Daisy being magicals, witches, Kyubey, being attacked by Os-…Wait…Oswald…
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Hey wait…That new guy at the studio, Oswald…Is he a magical too?” Donald looked up at Goofy with a questioning look.
It had only just now occurred to him about how Oswald showed some of the same traits Goofy and Daisy had shown.
“He is. A very powerful one at that.”
Mickey looked up from his hot cocoa mug as Donald spoke again. “Then does that mean he’s a good guy? But then why would he attack Mickey?”
Kyubey looked up “He wasn’t after Mickey. It was me he was after.” He tilted his head in thought “I think he was trying to stop me from making a contract with a new magical.”
Donald stared at Kyubey confused. Why wouldn’t he want more magicals around?
“Well if you’re fighting the same enemy, wouldn’t it be better if there were more of them?”
Goofy sighed softly and placed his mug down on the table. He put his fingers on his soul gem as it turned into a ring on his middle finger. “Not exactly…It’s actually more common for magicals to battle each other…” He glanced at Daisy as she nodded slowly.
“You see boys…When you kill a witch you get rewards, and magicals will often battle to see who gets the reward…” She looked down to her lap gripping the bottom of her dress.
Mickey leaned into his hand and sighed “So he knew Kyubey was trying to contact me? I’m so confused…and frankly quite exhausted…”
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Mickey sighed and got up slowly, the new morning greeting him through his curtains. He took a deep breath and took in the fresh air. The wind blew gently creating a soft and comforting feeling.
His head raced with thoughts, as if two trains were going at top speed inside his mind. He let out a sigh with a smile before heading downstairs, only to see Felicity asleep on the dining room table. His eyes went from relaxed to worried very fast, but he still retained his smile.
Felicity always worked so hard, but she didn’t know her limits most of the time. Mickey had lost count of the amount of times Felicity has passed out from overworking herself, whether at home or at her workplace. All the times he’s had to drag her to bed or to the dinner table to get a meal. Her hardworking nature was something he had always admired about his sister, but sometimes it was just too much.
“Cmon Fefe…Let’s get you to bed.” Mickey spoke with a sigh.
Felicity groaned in annoyance as her eyes flicker open. “Just…a little longer…”
Mickey stared at her for a few moments, before he picked her up like a knight carrying a princess. “To bed with you.” He slowly but surely made it to the guest bedroom, and laid Felicity down, before tucking her under the covers.
She huddled under the blanket, a small smile appearing on her face.
Mickey also couldn’t help but smile at his sisters peaceful state. He made his way to the door then turned off the light as he whispered “Sweet dreams Fefe.”
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Mickey walked down the sidewalk taking in the warm sun. A feeling of calm overtook his body, balancing out the excitement he was feeling. He was on his way to meet up with Goofy, Donald, and Daisy.
It was time to see the magical experience first hand, and while he was excited, there was still a sense of fear rising in his chest, like a volcano about to erupt. The thought of constantly having to risk life for a single wish was unpleasant at best.
“Calm down Mick…I’m sure you’re just overreacting…” He made his way up to a rooftop cafe, where he sees his best friend sitting with Kyubey. “Hi Donald! Hi Kyubey!” He walked over with a smile, then sat down across from him.
“Heya Mick.” Donald smiles with a soft chuckle.
Kyubey looked up “Hello Mickey! It’s nice to see you.” Kyubey then hopped onto Mickey's lap before curling up and letting out soft purring sounds.
It seemed like no one else could see Kyubey, but that might be a good thing. Who knows what would happen if everyone knew of these creatures' existence.
“So have you thought about any wish ideas?” Donald stared at the dark coffee in his mug. He picked up eight sugar cubes before dropping them into his mug. One sank rather quickly, while the others soaked in the dark liquid, slowly sinking to the bottom. By the time he looked up at Mickey, only two remained, one of them absorbing the coffee slowly until it finally sank, while the other just seemed to dissolve.
Mickey began pouring a lot of creamer into his cup shaking his head ‘no’.
Donald let out a chuckle “Yeah me neither…” He stretched his back then looked up at the sky “I mean…There’s a lot of stuff I want to do and have but…It’s the risk of your life part for me…” He walked over to the railing and looked down at the street below.
People wandered the city on the sidewalks while some drove cars or took public transportation. Everyone just seemed to be living normal lives.
"This is odd. Most people immediately accept my offer to make a contract.” Kyubry tilted his head, staring at Donald.
Donald chuckled weakly “Guess it’s because we don’t really know better…especially me. I grew up in a mansion, I’m an honored navy soldier, and I’m an actor…” He sighed heavily “Why did we get this chance?…I mean there’s got to be others that need this more than us…We work in Hollywood, we have homes, and families. Other people don’t have those luxuries.”
Mickey walked over to a friend and put his hand on Donald’s shoulder, staying quiet so Donald could continue talking. “We’re privileged…” He looked up at a big manor in the distance, before looking over to the ocean. “We’re blissfully ignorant…”
“For once you have some common sense.”
Donald and Mickey turned around to see Oswald standing behind them. His face was so cold that it sent shivers down Mickey's spine. He walked forward slowly as Kyubey curled up in Mickey's arms.
“You again…” Donald glared at Oswald as he continued to walk forward.
“It’s alright.” Donald and Mickey heard Daisy's voice echoing in their heads.
They looked around, then saw her standing on the rooftop of a nearby building. She watched the scene with a smile on her face.
Oswald seemed to notice her as well, but didn’t stop walking until he was standing about a foot or two in front of them.
“Well…What do you want?! You back for more?” Donald gritted his teeth as he spoke standing more in front of Mickey.
“No. I didn’t come to fight.” His eyes shift from the two men to Kyubey “I wanted to kill it. I wanted to kill it before it made contact with Michael, but it’s too late for that now.” He looks directly at Mickey, his gaze piercing and cold.
Mickey stared at Oswald confused and honestly a little scared.
“Do you remember my warning?”
Mickey nods slowly “Yeah…I do…”
Oswald bowed his head and closed his eyes “Good…I hope it’s not in vain.” He begins to walk away from the two of them, as Donald mumbled under his breath.
“Seriously…What’s up with him?…”
Mickey then thought of something before stepping forward, yelling “Wait! Oswald! What did you wish for before becoming a magical?!”
Oswald stopped abruptly then turned to face Mickey again. He stood there for a few moments, but then turned around and began walking away again.
Mickey sighed, frustrated by not getting an answer. What did Oswald wish for? Why was he so cold? What did he know?
Chapter 7: Daisys Magical Lesson
Summary:
It's the first day of the magical experience! As Donald and Mickey learn about hunting witches, they are witness to a horrible sight.
Notes:
Sorry this took so long to post. Life is crazy and writers block is a bish.
Chapter Text
“Okay! Time for day one of the magical experience!” Daisy smiled as she finished her slice of cake. She took the strawberry off of her yellow cake, and bit it in half.
The quartet sat in Minnie's bakery enjoying some sweets Minnie had baked that morning. The place was quite busy and bustling with people, almost making it hard to hear what Daisy said.
Goofy wiped his face of powdered sugar that came from his beignets before he looked at Daisy with a smile. “Daisy is taking the lead today. She’ll be leading us to and handling the witch.”
Donald finished up his cookies and cream crepe, a look of determination across his face “Anybody tries to attack my Daisy, I’ll get 'em with this!” Donald took a gun out from its case, seeing it caused Mickey and Kyubey to slightly flinch. “I mean it’s better than nothing right?”
Goofy softly chuckled “Well it’s good to go into it with that mindset.”
Mickey held a bat at his side, thinking the same thing, though a gun was probably better than a random baseball bat.
Daisy sighed with a smile before standing up and saying “Well then! Let’s get going!”
Mickey hurried and finished his chocolate chip cookie by giving some to Kyubey. He didn't know if he was ready to go back into that horrifying maze, but his friends were here now! At least he was going in there consciously this time right?
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The four of them made their way back to the parking unit. The setting sun and the rundown environment of the area made it seem very eerie, especially since the market wasn't open that day.
Daisy held her soul gem out and it began to glow a dim light. “It picked up the traces of magic from yesterday. When we hunt we have to scour the city by foot. Once it picks up the magic, follow it until you find the witch.”
The quartet wandered the streets. The colors of orange, yellow, and red reflected off the sky, casting their glow onto the many buildings surrounding them. The trees swayed in the light breeze, the air cooling as the sun set. Daisy led the group holding her soul gem in front of her. The purple light didn't glow any brighter despite them walking for a long time.
“Why isn’t the gem getting any brighter?” Mickey asked.
“It’s been a whole day since the witch escaped. The trail is almost completely faded.” Daisy answered while Goofy sighed softly.
“We might’ve been able to catch it yesterday, but neither of us wanted to leave you guys alone.”
Mickey and Donald shared a guilty glance. If they hadn't wandered into that labyrinth, then they would’ve gotten that thing, and probably would’ve saved some lives.
“Sorry guys.” Mickey whispered softly, lowering his head.
“It’s okay. We’re gonna catch that witch!” Daisy smiled and spoke confidently.
“Say, do you guys check anywhere specific for witches?” Donald lifted his head to look at Daisy and Goofy, his curiosity peaking.
“Well, you can normally find traces of witch magic in places where fights break out. Places with high gang activity, bars, and even colleges are good places to start.”
Goofy looked down at the road, noticing the broken and empty beer bottles on the floor, and even patches of blood. The uneasy feeling crawled up his body.
“Places where people go to end their lives are also places to look, such as abandoned buildings and highways.”
Donald looked to the side. The terrible feeling he got made him shiver, like ice was chilling his veins. How evil could something possibly be to cause so much pain and agony to innocent people? His blood went from cold to burning, as he felt anger boil inside him like an angry volcano.
“The worst places witches can hide out are hospitals and graveyards. It’s so awful seeing a witch drain the life force from someone who is already weak from sickness or from someone experiencing such grief.” Daisy sighed, her eyes glistening with tears as she thought about it. It was at this point where her gem began to glow brighter.
“It’s picked up powerful magic. We must be close!” Daisy picked up the pace and began running, the others following behind her.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
They all found themselves in front of an abandoned old house. The walls were chipped and cracked, while the wood looked so rotted, that one small leaf could make it crumble to dust. The very wind made the house creek and shake. It was a miracle that the house hadn't collapsed.
Daisy looked down at her soul gem; The glow was bright and rapidly blinking. “There’s no mistake…It’s here!”
A loud crash rang in the air as Donlad snapped his head up, only to see a man falling out of a broken window from the top story of the house. “Holy shit!”
The man's body was bruised and cut, while his face dripped with blood. Another man stumbled to the window, glaring at the person who fell out of the window. He himself then leaped out the window holding a knife.
Mickey cried out in horror watching the scene unfold.
Daisy quickly lept into action, her body glowing a light purple, while dark purple ribbons wrapped around her body. Mickey and Donald shielded their eyes from the bright light, and when they looked again, Daisy's outfit had completely changed, just like how Goofys had done.
Daisys black and white pantsuit has changed into a short length light purple dress. The sleeves hung on the sides of the dress, revealing the shoulders, while a semi transparent purple fabric wrapped around the top of it. Long white gloves adorned her arms. They went slightly past her elbows, while making triangle shape on the back of her hands. Two small rings wrapped around her middle fingers, the palms and the rest of her hands uncovered. White knee high stockings ran up her legs, semi transparent and adored with a lace design on top, while her feet were adorned with light purple heels. The last, and arguably the most beautiful part of her outfit, was a dark purple ribbon that wrapped around her afro, tying it up. In the center of the ribbon, was a shining purple diamond.
Daisy held her arm out as a square of purple fabric appeared beneath the two falling men, stopping them from falling. The two men were slowly lowered to the ground, both of them unconscious, their bodies both covered in cuts, bruises, and blood. Mickey, Donald, and Goofy ran over quickly to see what was going on. Daisy looked the men up and down before spotting a small mark on their necks. It looked like a small piece of candy on fire, adorned with a pink and orange color scheme.
Daisy let out a sigh and said softly “A witches kiss…”

“Oh no…Are they dead?” Mickey's voice trembled, much like his body was. He stared down at the two men that laid on the ground.
It was just wrong.
Why would someone do something like this? No…Not someone…But what. That witch. This was the doing of a monster. A monster that had to be destroyed. Mickey felt anger boiling up inside him as he stared at the house.
Goofy had put his hands on the men's shoulders, a yellow light coming from them. Their wounds slowly healed over, but they remained unconscious. “They’re alive. Just passed out from the fall.” He looked up at Daisy who gave a nod.
“Let’s go!” Daisy began rushing into the building, moving very swiftly and gracefully, despite wearing heels.
“Wait! Is it safe to leave them out here?” Donald asked as he started to run inside as well, Mickey following behind.
“Goofy is going to stay with them. If things go south, I can contact him for backup.”
“And how will you do that?” Daisy smirked and looked to Donald. Donald then heard Daisy's voice echoing in his head.
‘Like this!’
Donald stepped back quite surprised.
Mickey looked up, his eyes wide as he was able to hear it too.
“How are you doing that?!” Donald semi shouted, shaking his head.
“I’m allowing you to use this ability. Now you can communicate with Daisy or Goofy through telepathy!” Kyubey piped up. His tail swaying and his eyes shining.
“I almost forgot you were here.” Donald chuckled, crossing his arms.
He looked over to see Daisy opening up a weird gateway of sorts in the center of the old rickety stairs. It was the same symbol as what was on the men's necks.
“You won’t escape us this time!” Daisy then turned to Donald and Mickey. She placed her hands onto the gun and bat, both turning into something that looked right out of an anime. Bold and bright colors covered them both.
“Whoa! That’s badass!” Donald chuckled, holding his gun close. Mickey smiled and nodded in agreement.
Daisy looked at Donald and Mickey, a serious expression spreading across her face.
“Once we’re inside stay close to me okay?” The duo nodded as Daisy hopped inside the labyrinth.
Donald hopped in after her quite quickly, while Mickey slowly steadied his breath. He then followed the duo inside. As they all entered, they had yet to notice a figure standing atop of the stairs, a glare plastered across their face.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Mickey struggled to keep his eyes open, due to the brightness of the labyrinth. The familiar smell of cinnamon and unbearable heat were uncomfortably familiar.
It felt like they were running in the halls of a great manor. Large piles of expensive treasures filled the halls and rooms. Mountains of gold and jewels shone in the bright lights of the labyrinth. Fine works of art littered the walls, covering the red and gold wallpaper.
As Mickey looked around, he noticed the small raccoon creatures from before coming straight towards them, the matches they all held already lit. Daisy grimaced as she now held daggers in her hands.
The daggers had a fancy purple handle with a diamond shape in the middle. The blade looked very thin and very sharp, it could easily pierce through someone's skin with the lightest graze. She quickly threw the daggers at the creatures, each going straight through the creatures heads, causing them to collapse to the floor.
Donald quickly joined in on the action, firing his gun at the creatures, the same results following. Mickey was able to get a few hits in, wincing and gagging at the pumpkin guts and crushed candy pieces that got on his clothes.
“What are these things anyway?!” Mickey yelled as they continued to run through the brightly lit hallways.
“They’re called familiars. They’re basically servants to the witch.” Daisy answered so quickly, it was almost hard to understand what she said.
As they all continued through the labyrinth, they were ducked behind a rather large gold coin, in an attempt to hide from these other massive familiars. They were tall and slender, all of them wearing butler suits. Their heads either seemed to be roses or diamonds, and they all carried shiny cloches. They were so tall that they made Daisy, Donald, and Mickey feel like little dolls. The three of them held their breath as a giant familiar with pink roses crouched down to search. It was about to grab the large coin they were hiding behind, before a loud crash caught its attention. It went in a hurry to see what it was, leaving the coin and the trio untouched. They all breathed a silent sigh of relief as they once again began running down the hallway.
“So? Are you guys afraid?” Daisy looks back at Donald and Mickey, both of them still looking on edge from almost getting caught.
“H-honestly…A bit.” Donald spoke softly, his breath becoming a bit quicker.
Mickey batted one of those raccoon familiars away with a hard swing of his baseball bat. He raised his arm and wiped the sweat from his forehead. The heat seemed to keep rising higher and higher, and it was becoming unbearable.
“We’re almost at the center of the labyrinth!” Kyubey spoke up, jumping onto Mickeys shoulder.
The trio approached a large brown and golden door. Daisy took a deep breath and pushed it open, the light from the otherside spilling out, making the trio shield their eyes. In front of them was a large dining room. Stained glass lined the walls, along with red silk curtains. The mountains of treasure inside this room seemed ten times larger than the ones in the halls, and the overwhelming smell of food made Daisy sick to her stomach. An overly large table ran down the room, and at the foot of that table was a massive creature.
The creature was being served by those tall butler-like familiars, their cloches revealing food, money, even cars! The creature looked like a giant pink raccoon, but its eyes were replaced with giant pieces of hard candy that had a swirling pattern and constantly changed color. Its tail was on fire, but it didn't appear to be in any pain. It’s claws adorned many rings, and its teeth shined almost like they were made of jewels. Finally, the creature adorned a red robe with a fluffy white collar at the top, along with a golden crown that bore a rainbow gem in its center.
“That right there. That is a witch.” Donald blinked as he watched the witch hop onto the table.
“Oh my god…” Mickey slightly backed up, his anxiety getting the better of his limbs. “Daisy you’re not seriously going to fight that thing are you?!” He shrieked in terror.
Daisy let out a sigh twirling the daggers in her hands “I have to. It’s my job.” She gave a confident smile as she turned her head. “Besides, I could never lose!” She took the bat from Mickey and tapped it on the ground, a magical force field surrounding the two men. “You both stay put. I wont have you getting hurt.” She hopped onto the table and stared at the witch, a confident smirk on her face.
The witch let out a loud growl, hurling a giant glass punch bowl at Daisy.
Daisy quickly dodged, tensing as some of the cold punch landed on her. She began hurling daggers at the witch as it ran around the room, seemingly dodging every attack.
The witch jumped up and landed on a cake stand staring down at Daisy, hissing before breathing fire at her.
Daisy gasped and rolled out of the way, shielding herself with a giant piece of cloth.
The witch let out a screech that echoed throughout the entire labyrinth. The screech was so loud and high, that it was a miracle the stained glass windows and tableware didn't shatter.
Daisy felt like her whole body was throbbing and ringing. The pain coursed through her head, right to her veins. Before she could recover however, an army of the small raccoon familiars began to scurry in along with a few of the tall butler familiars. She glanced around herself assessing the situation and the best course of action. She took a deep breath and she formed a tight piece of cloth beneath her. She jumped onto it, flinging herself into the air. She began spinning at a high speed, her daggers flying in each and every direction, some hitting the familiars, but most of them ended up sticking into the wall, furniture, or ground. She then yelped in pain as she was snatched from the air and into the palm of one of the butler familiars.
“No!” Donald screamed in terror as he hopelessly watched from the sideline.
“Daisy!” Mickey cried out.
Daisy let out a shaky breath, as the familiar's grip was quite tight. “Don't worry…I’m okay!” She closed her eyes as the daggers that stuck into the wall, furniture, and ground began to glow a bright purple light. “Like I said…I could never lose!”
The daggers on the ground suddenly turned into long, thick pieces of cloth. The cloth began to wrap up the small racoon familiar army, into a large bundle, while others tied around the butler's legs and yanked, making them fall. Daisy lept from the familiars grip, landing on top of a giant bowl of fruit.
“Let’s get this wrapped up shall we? Also…That coat is very last season.” She spoke to the witch and snickered.
Small explosions went off around the witch as it began to charge at Daisy, but before it could reach her, the last daggers in the wall turned to ribbons and tied it up. The witch thrashed and struggled, roaring angrily. Daisy then snapped her fingers as many small daggers appeared around her. She took a breath and shouted “Diamond Pin-Poppet!” The daggers all rushed towards the witch, implying it from all angels. It let out another loud cry as it faded away in a ball of flames and multicolored liquid.
Daisy brushed herself off before holding her hand out and catching a small black object. She turned to Donald and Mickey, giving them a sweet and cheery smile.

Chapter Text
“So you beat it?! You won?!” Mickey spoke with a smile, staring at Daisys confident stance. The world around them began to shift and morph, until they were standing in the old house once again. Daisy stood still as her outfit shifted back to her black and white pantsuit, while Goofy walked over with a smile.
“Great job Daisy! You barely have a scratch on ya!” He chuckled and patted her back.
“Are those guys okay Goofy?” Daisy asked looking up at him
“Yes. They got taken to the hospital and are being treated as we speak.”
Donald and Mickey unknowingly let out a sigh of relief at Goofys statement.
“Now boys, look at this.” She held up a small black object in her hand. It was a sphere with a sharp needle like bottom. The design of the object was intricate and looks like it was done by a professional artist. It almost looked like it was levitating in her hand. “This is a grief seed. It’s a witches' egg.”
“An egg?” Donald questioned staring at the object.
“Witches often carry these. You’ll often find them when hunting.” Daisy said, as Kyubey hopped out of Mickey's arms, and onto Daisys shoulder.
“Don’t worry, when they’re like that, they’re perfectly safe. In fact they’re valuable because of what they do.”
Daisy held out her soul gem to show Donald and Mickey. “The color of my soul gem is darker than yesterday.”
They both looked closely at Daisy's soul gem, and yes, the color was darker than it was the first time they saw it. “Oh yeah it is…” Mickey spoke.
“But when I do this with the grief seed," Daisy held her soul gem up to the grief seed. Suddenly, small dark clouds went into the grief seed, and her soul gem glowed bright purple once again.
“Whoa! It’s all bright again!” Donald smiled.
“Yep! And the magic I used during the fight has been restored.”
Goofy nodded at Daisy then said “The rewards we were talking about, this is it.” As they stood there, Daisy looked to the side and threw the grief seed into a dark part of the building. That’s when they heard the woosh of the object stop suddenly. “It should be good for at least one more use!” She shouted into the dark.
Mickey and Donald's ears perked up, hearing footsteps coming towards them, then slowly but surely, Oswald stepped out into the light.
“You again…” Donald's voice dropped as he glared at Oswald.
Daisy smirked at him and put a hand on her hip. “Take it. I”m giving it to you.”
Oswald scoffed, gripping the grief seed in his hand. “I don’t need your handouts or pity. It was your kill. So keep the damn thing for yourself.” He threw it back at her, and she caught it with ease, a look of disdain plastered on her face.
“Fine then.”
After standing there for a few seconds looking between the four people standing in front of him, Oswald turned his heel and walked back into the dark, disappearing.
“Seriously! What is his problem?!” Donald shouted staring to where Oswald had walked off.
“Some people just can’t accept help from others or they just prefer to be on their own.” Goofy shook his head slowly and sighed.
Mickey didn’t say a word, and just looked down, lost in thought. ‘I wonder…Why does he want to be alone?”
The quartet walked out of the old building, the sun fully setting in the distance, casting a shadow of dark blues, purples, and blacks across the city. Lights of many colors illuminated the buildings while the hustle and bustle of the busy city died down just enough so that people could wind down for the night. Their way home was lined with trees as they swayed in the night breeze.
Daisy and Goofy walked ahead of Mickey and Donald, talking and laughing, seemingly about Daisy's latest victory.
“Well fellas, it’s been fun but I better head home. Maxy is probably waiting for me.” Goofy smiled at all of them, stretching his arms and back. “Can’t wait for next time!” Goofy began to walk away while Daisy and Mickey said their goodbyes.
“Wait next time?” Donald questioned, but Goofy was already gone.
Daisy yawned with a light smile “I better go as well, got a busy day tomorrow. Goodnight boys!” She gave Mickey a hug then went to Donald and kissed his cheek causing him to blush and let out a light chuckle. She hopped into a taxi and rode off into the night, leaving Donald and Mickey alone.
The duo stood there for a while, not knowing what to do or say at the moment. They both thought about what they had witnessed that day, letting it sink into their minds. The first time in a labyrinth was scary and confusing, and this time wasn't much better. The situation was still terrifying. Having to fight so many monsters, and face so much danger just for a single wish was insane. And yet, the thought of being able to save others and make a difference in the world, was intriguing. Eventually, the two men just bid their goodbyes and made their way to their homes.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Donald let out a heavy yawn as he approached the dock.
The smell of the sea filled his every breath. He walked on the dock, the sound of his footsteps echoing in the silence of the night. He approached his boat letting out a sigh of relief, glad to be home at last. That relief was quickly snuffed however, when he heard a loud crash from inside his home.
He rushed inside, only to be greeted with a pot of overcooked rice spilled onto the floor. The white and brown mush was not only touching the floor, but the stove, counter top, and even the ceiling, though Donlad didn't want to ask how that happened. He looked to see his three nephews standing a few feet away from the mess.
The three brothers looked up at their uncle with nervous smiles. Huey was flipping through his junior woodchuck guidebook, Dewey was holding up a pot lid as a makeshift shield, and Louie was hiding behind the two of them fidgeting with his hoodie.
“Hey Uncle Donald!” Dewey shouted then let out a nervous chuckle.
Donald avoided the hot pot and the mess hurrying towards the triplets. “Oh my god boys! Are you okay?!” He crouched down to their eye level, a look of worry across his face. His eyes roamed all of them, checking for injuries.
“We’re okay Uncle Donald.” Huey spoke up, putting his book away.
“Yeah. We're just trying to make dinner.” Louie looked up at his uncle, his face and his tone so nonchalant, it made Donald angry.
“Boys…I told you to wait till I got home to start doing anything with the stove…” He pressed the bridge of his nose between his fingers, before going to clean up the slop.
Huey stepped forward to help his uncle clean up. “Sorry Uncle Donald…” The triplets mumbled, with Louie and Dewey following to help clean.
Once they finished cleaning, Donald stood in the kitchen trying to find something suitable for the kids to eat. He settled for making a batch of rice and a few eggs. While it wasn't much, the boys would be fed and that’s all that mattered.
He quickly made the dish, then placed three places in front of the boys on the dinner table. He sat by the triplets, only drinking a tall glass of water. Louie looked up from his phone and his food, looking at his uncle worried.
“Uncle Donald…Aren't you gonna eat?” Donald glanced up at Louie and gave him a small smile.
“Don’t worry Louie. I ate before I came home.” The look Louie gave back told Donald he didn't believe him, but he didn't press further, instead he continued to eat.
Once dinner was over, Donald got the triplets to bed and kissed all of them goodnight, but before he left, Deweys voice piped up.
“Uncle Donald…I thought you said we’d get more money once you got this acting gig.” Donald turned and sighed while sitting by Dewey.
“It’s not that simple. I don’t get fully paid until production is finished, but before then I get small paychecks from the investors.”
Dewey laid down nodding his head slowly. “I just wish you didn’t have to work so much…You always look so tired and we can barely afford eggs.”
Donald bit his lip holding back tears. He simply kissed Deweys forehead and got up slowly.
“Me too…Goodnight Dewey.” Dewey let out a soft mumble as Donald left and closed the door behind him.
He went to his own room, sat down on his bed, and stared at his hands. His eyes clouded with tears as he softly cried into his hands.

Max is around 18 years old and is on his way to college. I don't know how old he was in A Goofy Movie, so I just made an estimate.
Chapter Text
A week had passed since Mickey and Donlads first interaction with a witch, and things appeared to be going well. They joined Goofy, Daisy, or both for witch hunts and/or familiar hunts once a week, to not only get a feel for them, but to be there for their friends/girlfriend. Mickey truly felt like they were making a difference in their city, as crime rates and disappearances seemed to drop with the more witches that were defeated. Despite the fear, it felt great to be part of something like this. It felt great to help people and protect them from the harm of witches.
Mickey sat in his room scrolling on his phone, the moonlight shining in through his bedroom window. His mind raced with all different kinds of thoughts. From his acting job, to wishes, to his family, all of them filled his head at once. His mind raced so much that it started to give him a headache. He groaned, rubbing his temples, as he slowly got up and went to the bathroom to get some medicine. As he downed the medicine, he heard the front door open and someone groaning.
“Oh no…” Mickey muttered to himself as he made his way to the front door. Once he got there, he saw Felicity on the floor with a bottle of liquor in her left hand, tears rolling down her face as she softly sobbed into the floor.
Mickey sighed softly, as seeing his older sister in this state made his heart ache. “Not again…Cmon Fefe.” He crouched down and took the bottle from her before helping her into a chair.
Felicity was mumbling incoherently through her drunken sobs, as Mickey locked away the liquor bottle. He then went over to take off Felicity's heels, setting them aside, then helping her to her room. She collapsed onto her bed sniffling, not even wanting to look at her brother. Mickey sat with her stroking her head or rubbing her back until she fell asleep, his face never leaving that worried expression.
“How many times is this gonna happen Felicity?...” He stood and turned off the light before leaving the bedroom. He made his way back to his own room then laid back in bed, his headache even worse now, as he drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, he woke up to his phone blaring directly into his ear. He rubbed his eyes and answered, his voice raspy from sleep.
“Hello?...”
“Mickey! You need to come to my bakery now!”
Mickey at first felt delighted to hear the voice of his girlfriend first thing in the morning, but something in her tone made his stomach drop.
“Minnie? Sweetie what happened?” He said as he rolled out of bed.
“Something bad has happened Mickey…Really bad…”
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“What do you mean she’s missing?!” Mickey blurted out, his face a mixture of shock and horror as he stared at the people around him.
Donald was staring down at his lap gritting his teeth as Minnie rubbed Mickey's back.
Goofy let out a sigh while sipping his coffee. “Exactly that…The police showed up at my door saying that Daisy hasn’t been seen for the past few days.” He stared at the dark liquid in his mug, thinking of all the possibilities.
Donald looked up, his eyes red and puffy from crying. “I’ve been trying to contact her, but she hasn't responded to any of my texts or calls. She said she had been stressed lately, so after not hearing anything, I went to her apartment to see her, but she wasn't there either!” He wiped his eyes, his voice cracking and horse. Goofy rubbed his back as the phone began to ring. Minnie got up to answer it, leaving the trio alone.
Donald eventually calmed himself down and took a deep breath. “Is it possible a witch or familiar got her?” He looked up at Goofy who flinched after hearing that question.
“I’m not sure. There haven't been many witches in the area, and the familiars all went down quite easily…”
Mickey looked up trying to make sense of it “Well maybe she’ll show up when we go out hunting! I mean I doubt she’d let the city be a victim to witches or familiars.”
This seemed to lighten the mood a little, as the two men sitting across from him gave a nod. While it wasn't much, the energy in the room shifted, and Donald seemed to calm down a little.
Minnie walked back into the room with a tray of cookies and sat down with the trio giving them each a small smile. They were quiet, but that silence shared the same desire. The desire for their loved one to be okay.
Sadly, the hope that was held in the room was being chipped down day by day. Daisy had not shown up to any of the familiar sightings, let alone witch sightings. Everyday they’d all try to contact her, and the police to see if they’ve heard anything, but neither had a reply to give.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
As the weeks passed, the struggle of keeping the witches and familiars at bay was really getting to Goofy. Having to fight all the witches and familiars alone once again was taking it’s toll. The exhaustion causing him to be late for work and to space out or fall asleep in the middle of conversation, his body growing thinner due to him not eating right, and the emotional toll casuing him to lash out. He let out a sigh as he sat at the dinner table with Max sitting across from him.
“You okay dad?” Max spoke looking at his father, a look of worry in his eyes.
Goofy looked up at his son with a weak smile. “Yes Maxy, I’m okay. Just a bit tired.”
Max didn’t fully believe him, but he didn’t want to press his father any further, so he just nodded his head.
“How’s the highschool to college transition going?” Goofy asked trying to shift the subject away from him.
“It’s going alright! Just working on getting all my stuff packed up. I already picked my classes out, and the dorm is nearly ready.”
Goofy smiled at his son, his chest filled with pride at how far Max has come since he was a baby. However, there was also that sadness from the fact that his little boy was leaving the nest.
“You sure you’ll be okay on your own dad?” Max interrupted Goofys thoughts, causing Goofy to snap back to reality.
“Hm? What do you mean?”
“Well, you haven’t been on your own in a long time, and you can be kind of a clutz. I know I give you a hard time dad, but I just want to make sure you’re okay.” Deep down Goofy wanted to say no. He wanted to tell his son the truth about everything. All the sleepless nights, all the pain and worry, all the loneliness.
“No need to worry Maxy. your old pop will be okay!” Goofy gave his son a typical bright smile, before standing and cleaning off the table. Once in bed however, he starred at the bright yellow soul gem in his hand. The glow reflecting in his eyes, like the light of a candle burning down to it’s last bits of wax. “I’ll..be okay…”
“Purified Energy Blast!” A bright light pierced through the chest of a small mechanical mouse familiar. Its body glowed then faded away, causing the industrial environment to fade back to the beautiful green park. Goofy stood atop of a tree, while Mickey and Donald slowly made their way out of their hiding spots, Kyubey sitting on Mickey's shoulder.
“Nice work Goofy!” Donald shouted with a smile as Goofy hopped down, landing perfectly at first then slipping with an ‘mph!’. Mickey chuckled and helped him up off the ground.
“Thanks guys.” Goofy rose to his feet brushing himself off.
“Goofy, are you sure it’s okay for you to fight familiars right now?” Kyubey piped up and asked.
“Well we can’t exactly let familiars do what they want. They’d only become witches and hurt others if we didn’t take care of them.” Goofy shook his body out a bit to ease the tensions in his muscles. “Anyway, shall we?”
Donald and Mickey nodded, and followed Goofy as he began walking. The trio walked through the park under the dim lighting of the street lamps. A cloud of fog surrounded them, making it hard to see at certain points. The sparkly night sky dimmed with the clouds and the lights of the city snuffing out most of the stars. Goofy stretched out his arms and let out a yawn before looking to Mickey and Donald.
“Have either of you decided on any wish ideas?” He gave the two a soft yet tired smile.
Donald shook his head back and fourth. “Nope.”
Mickey looked down. “No…”
Goofy chuckled softly “That’s not surprising. It’s a hard choice to make.”
Mickey looked up at Goofy with a smile. “Well what did you wish for Goofy? Maybe that will help us choose.”
Goofy stopped in his tracks and just froze. His face going to a state of surprise. The sudden stopped cause Mickey to do a double take and he quickly realized he might’ve made a mistake.
“I’m sorry Goofy! You don’t have to tell!” He spoke quickly and anxiously.
Donald glanced up at Goofy with confusion.
Goofy gave them both a weak smile before speaking softly. “Well…For me it was different.”

Chapter Text
The day was bright and warm as the sun beamed down on the ground. A soft breeze causing the trees to sway and the birds flying above chirping as they fly. Inside a quiet little home, Goofy cradled and rocked a small baby boy in his arms. He laughed, causing the small baby to giggle.
“My little Maxy. You’re so cute!” He kissed Maxs forehead making him coo and wiggle in his blanket. Goofy smiled brightly as the small bumble of joy in his arms. He never thought he would be a father, but he doesn’t regret it one bit. Seeing his son so happy and full of life made his heart full, combine that with the love from his wife and he felt as if he was on cloud nine!
“George Goof! Are you and Maxy ready? We have to go!” A female voice called out from the front of the house, causing Goofy to jump a bit in surprise, and hold Max a little tighter.
“Almost my love! Just gotta grab a few more things!”
“Well hurry up!” Goofy chuckled and grabbed the last few bags and loaded them into the car before going to pick up Max. Max was a little fussy when being put in his carrier, but one shake of a rattle and he calmed right down, now focusing on slobbering all over the rattle rather than fighting his dad. Goofy sat in the passenger's seat still entertaining Max, while the car started up and drove down the road.
The drive was slow and steady for a few hours as the sun began to set and the sky filled with clouds. Droplets of rain slowly fell onto the cars windshield causing the windshield to become cloudy. The squeak of the wipers echoed throughout the car, along with the honks from the other cars along the highway.
“Maybe we should find somewhere to rest for the night. I mean it’s getting nasty out.”
Goofy looked at his wife and shook his head. “Oh now don’t you go all worried on me. We don’t have much longer to go and a little rain is nothing to be afraid of.” He gave her a smile. The look in her eyes was uncertain as she glanced between him and the road, but she just sighed and shook her head.
“Okay…” They continued down the road as the rain began pouring from the clouds, like an out of control shower head. The cars picked off speed going down the highway, their headlights shining on the soaking road. Max began to cry softly as Goofy turned to him.
“Oh Maxy don’t cry…” He unbuckled his seatbelt and climbed halfway to the backseat to comfort his son. As he tried to comfort his boy, he heard a loud scream and turned around as bright lights filled his vision. His body reacted quickly, grabbing onto Max and holding him close to his body. At that moment, everything seemed to go black.
The next thing Goofy knew, he was on his side struggling for air and Max curled up in his carrier letting out quiet whimpers. His whole body ached and shook with pain, blood staining himself and the road. He glanced up to see the wreckage. Multiple cars were crushed and/or flipped onto their sides, broken glass littered every inch of the road reflecting in the street lights, but the worst was seeing his own car completely crunched and bent with no sign of his beloved anywhere. The rain continued to fall and pour onto his face as he let out shaky sobs in his struggle for air. His chest filled with fear as Maxs whimpers began to get weak. The little boy had a few scratches, but Goofy's mind immediately turned to the worst.
“I can help you know.” Goofy struggled as he turned his head to see Kyubey sitting beside him. He didn’t fully understand but he knew he needed help.
“Please…Save my son and me…” He choked out through his tears as he held Max as close as he could. He felt a pain in his chest and saw a bright yellow light, before closing his eyes.
“I didn’t get the chance to think about it.”
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Mickey and Donald both stared at Goofy in shock. They remembered visiting Goofy in the hospital after the accident and the doctor saying that it was a miracle that both he and Max survived. As they both thought about it, it all made sense. Goofy being tired quite often, him needing to leave many events ealy or canceling plans, how he could get back up no matter how badly he got hurt. Before they could respond, Goofy once again spoke up.
“I don’t regret my choice. Max and I are alive, and I wasn't going to risk anything. But if you have the chance to think long and hard about it, then you both should take all the time you need.” He began to walk forward once again, Donald and Mickey following. “Because I didn’t have a choice.” The other two men didn’t say anything as they all kept walking through the darkend park, the tension so thick it could be sliced like fresh bread.
“Hey Goofy, does a wish have to be for yourself?” Donald spoke up, causing Goofy to turn and cock his head to the side.
“Hm?”
“Well what if there’s someone else that needs a wish more than I do, could I use it to help them?”
Mickey spoke up as well “I’ve actually been wondering the same thing.”
Kyubey then let out a small laugh “You guys can wish for whatever you want. There’s no rule stating that you have to be the one to benefit from your wish. It wouldn't be the first time that’s happened.”
Goofy pondered for a moment before looking at them both “That wouldn’t be a good idea. If you make a wish for someone else, then you have to be sure about why you’re doing it and what the other person truly wants. Every wish has consequences both good and bad. Do you truly want to help the other person or do you want their everlasting gratitude? Are you willing to face the consequences if the wish doesn’t turn out like you hoped?” Mickey shrunk back a bit at Goofy's tone. It just wasn't normal. “The motive behind a wish is what matters most.”
Donald rubbed the back of his neck grimacing. “Jesus Goofy I was just asking…”
Goofy let out a small smile “Gawrsh I’m sorry fellas but I had to say it. This isn’t something that can be undone, and if you’re not 100% certain about it, then you’ll regret it later.”
Donald pondered then nodded, “Yeah I suppose you’re right.”
Kyubey spoke up once again. “As far as I’m concerned, the sooner you guys decide the better.”
Goofy looked at Kyubey giving him a stern and disappointing look. “Now hold on, don’t pressure my pals into making sudden decisions. No one likes someone pushy.” They all let out a laugh as the night grew darker.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Mickey stared at the sky as he walked along the sidewalk, Kyubey riding on his shoulder. The night was calm and quiet, much to his surprise. One doesn’t get used to silence when living in a city. As he wandered down the quiet street his mind went back to the thought of a wish.
“Thinking of what to wish for is harder than I thought it would be.”
Kyubey looked up to face Mickey. “Even though I really want you to, I can’t force you. Suggesting wishes is also against the rules.”
“I know what Goofy said about wishing for others, but would wishing to be magical truly be a bad thing?”
“Mickey, are you just looking for power?”
Mickey let out a light chuckle. “Oh no I don’t really care about that. But if I could help others the way that Goofy and Daisy do, I don’t think there’s anything else I want.”
“Oh you would be way more powerful than the both of them combined. Though it does depend on the wish you make. You have the most potential I’ve ever seen.” Kyubeys tail swayed back and forth as he spoke.
“No way! You’re messing with me.” Mickey looked at Kyubey with a smirk on his face.
“I can assure you that I’m not, though I am not sure why you of all people have the ability to become so powerful. Not even I’m fully sure what will happen.”
Mickey shook his head laughing. “Yeah…You’re definitely messing with me.” Mickey soon arrived at his home and almost immediately went to bed. Another long day tomorrow.
Notes:
I did not find a name for Goofys wife, so I didn't given her one.
Chapter 12: Your Magical Partner

Chapter Text
Oswald walked through the studio looking in every room. His eyes darted side to side as his frustration bubbled up inside of him. Sun shined through the few windows that the building had, and the murmurs of a multitude of conversations filled his ears. Eventually, he found the room he was looking for and walked inside. Goofy stood in a darkroom looking over the many pictures he had taken of the set and the actors. He had a smile on his face up until Oswald walked in, to which deeply chagrined.
“For someone who speaks of helping others, you’re sure okay with leading others into danger.” Oswald spoke, his tone sharp like a newly sharpened knife. Goofy turned to face him.
“Kyubey is the one that chose them. You know as well as I do that they’re involved in this now.”
“You want them to become Magicals.”
“And I suppose you don’t like that?”
“No. Especially since Michael is involved.” Goofy let out a dry chuckle staring Oswald in the eye.
“So you’re also aware? Of his incredible potential? Why on earth are you so upset about it?”
“He won’t become like us. I won’t allow it.”
“Scared of someone stronger taking over this territory? That’s pretty pathetic.”
Oswald gritted his teeth. “I don’t want to fight. However, if you keep going down this path then you leave me no choice.”
“Then let’s make sure this is the last time we see each other. No more mister nice guy after this.” Oswald turned his back to leave, but not before hearing what Goofy said next.
“If you were doing this as long as I have, then perhaps you’d understand.”
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Donald sighed heavily as he rode an elevator down from the top floor to the first. He and Mickey, Donald, and Kyubey had gone to Daisy's office to see if Daisy had showed up. But once again, they showed up empty handed. As Donlad got back down to the lobby, Mickey stood up. “No luck?”
“No…She’s still not here, and nobody has seen her…”
They both let out a light sigh before walking out of the building. The sky was partially cloudy and the wind was warm to accompany the sunny day, but the grim reality hung over them both like a rain cloud. They continued on their way before Mickey stopped seeing something black out of the corner of his eye.
“What’s wrong? Donald asked, looking at his friend confused.
“Look over there. There’s something in the wall.” Donald looked up only to freeze. Inside the wall of the building was a glowing black object with a needle-like bottom.
“It’s a grief seed!” Kyubey shouted.
“Oh no!” Mickey rushed over with Donald following behind.
“No way! What’s it doing here?!”
Kyubey looked up at them, his voiced filled with worry. “We should get out of here! A labyrinth is about to open up!”
Donald thought for a moment pondering his next move. “Mickey, you call Goofy and meet him at the front! I’ll stay here with the grief seed!”
Mickey looked at Donald and shouted. “No way! I'm not leaving you here!”
Kyubey piped up after “It’s too risky! If a labyrinth opens up then you’ll get sucked in! Goofy might not make it in time to rescue you!”
“But if the labyrinth opens up then how will we know where the grief seed is? It’ll be like looking for a needle in a haystack!” Donald looked up at the building beside them. “I won’t let it happen…Especially not here.”
Mickey shook his head uncertainly, when Kyubey hopped off his shoulder and onto Donalds. “Mickey, I’ll stay here with Donald. Goofy can use telepathy to track my location. Now hurry!” Mickey nodded before taking out his phone and rushing off. At that moment, Donald and Kyubey were blinded by a bright light, and found themselves in the center of the labyrinth.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The labyrinth was far different from other ones that Donald had seen. This labyrinth was dark and grim and weirdly quiet. The multicolored fabrics and jewels did nothing to ease the tension in the area. Donald didn’t know how, but the colors made it even more unsettling. As he walked around with Kyubey in his arms, he heard a buzzing noise approaching. He quickly ducked behind something that looked like a pincushion, before peeking out a bit to see what it was. A small familiar that resembled a bee flew by holding a camera. It was a bee no doubt, but it more so resembled a plush toy rather than an actual bee. Its little button eyes searched around before snapping a photo of the very pincushion Donald was hiding behind, before flying away. He snuck out of his hiding spot before walking towards the center where the grief seed laid.
“Are you scared Donald?” Kyubey asked, tilting his head up at him.
“Of course. Kinda hard not to be.”
“If you want I can turn you into a magician right now. That way you could save yourself.”
Donald let out a single chuckle. “If things go south then I just might, but I don’t want to jump into anything. If possible, I don’t want to decide on a whim.”
Mickey pulled Goofy by the arm towards the entrance of the labyrinth. Goofy's face was stern and serious, staring at the wall. He put out his hand, revealing the labyrinth entrance. He closed his eyes and spoke to Kyubey telepathically. “What’s the situation in Kyubey?”
“We’re alright. The grief seed looks like it’ll be dormant for a while.”
“Donald, are you okay?” Mickey spoke up
“Yeah I’m fine. To be honest, this is getting boring.” Mickey let out a small smiling hearing Donald say that.
‘At least he’s okay’ Mickey thought.
“You guys don’t have to hurry, and avoid using too much magic. It could cause a disturbance. Just come as quietly as possible.” Goofy nodded at Kyubey's instructions before taking Mickey's hand and walked into the labyrinth.
“I’m glad you got here so soon.” Mickey smiled up at Goofy as they walked down the dark hallway, webs and dust clouding the area.
“Of course. Though I am a little upset, Donald is taking a huge risk. However, in this moment it was the right call.” Goofy looked back to look at Mickey. “We can find the grief seed and keep the witch from es-” Goofy stopped mid sentence seeing a figure walking down the same hallway. Micky turned around to see who it was and lo and behold, it was Oswald. “I thought I told you to stay away.” Goofy's voice dropped, giving Oswald a cold glare. Mickey looked between them both, the tension making his body shake.
“I don’t care what you say. I’m hunting this prey. I suggest you leave."
“No. Donald and Kyubey are still inside.”
“Then I will make sure they get out safely.”
Goofy scoffed. “Do you honestly think I trust you?!” He snapped his fingers as yellow glowing beams surrounded Oswald from all angles. Oswald frantically looked around before looking at Goofy, but not with a look of anger, but of worry.
“This is insane! Let me out!”
“I didn’t want to do this, but you leave me no choice. Don’t try to get out. You’ll only hurt yourself.”
“Listen to me! This witch isn't like others you’ve faced! You shouldn’t go!”
Goofy sighed and rolled his eyes. “I’ll release you after I’m done here.” Goofy turned and began to walk away.
Mickey looked towards him. “Goofy this is!-”
“C'mon. Let’s get going…” Mickey looked at both of them conflicted before following after Goofy.
Oswald reached his hand out, but was shocked by the bars. “Stop!”
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Goofy…I don’t think you should’ve reacted like that…I know you and Oswald don’t get along, but-” Goofy turned to Mickey, his eyes burning a hole into Mickey's skull.
“I don’t trust him. I’m sorry Mickey, but I can’t take the risk.” He sighed heavily looking ahead again. “Especially since Daisy isn't here to help.” The two continued through the labyrinth in silence as Mickey observed their surroundings.
Long pieces of glittering silk ran across the ceiling. Their color reflecting from the gemstone lights that hung in the air, causing them to get bathed in a rainbow. The walls were cracked and the black paint seemed to chip off the walls and the sound of dripping water, well Mickey hoped it was water, caused the environment to look old and disheveled, despite the variety of beautiful fabric and photos. Giant mirrors littered the floors and walls, some in perfect condition, while others were broken and shattered. As Mickey and Goofy passed them, Mickey stopped for a second to stare at his reflection in one of the mirrors. Half of the mirror was whole and showed a clear picture of his face while the other half was cracked, causing his body to distort and break. He brought a hand to his face and cupped his right cheek, contemplating if what he was seeing was real. It didn't make sense. Why would he need to check if he was real?
“Mickey.” Goofy spoke, snapping Mickey out of his thoughts.
“H-Huh?” Mickey looked over to Goofy and blinked a few times before sighing. “Sorry. I got lost in thought.” Mickey quickly caught up to Goofy and continued to walk with him, but walking for a while, he finally decided to speak up. “Goofy…Are you okay? You’ve been acting off lately, and it’s a bit unsettling.”
At first, Goofy didn’t respond, only continuing to walk forward. After a long period of silence Goofy finally spoke up after a sad chuckle. “I have. Haven't i?...”
The duo walked through a curtain leading to an area that resembled a runway. More mirrors and large gems lined the walls, but the darkness of the room made it hard to see anything that wasn't directly in front of your face. “The truth is Mickey…” Goofy paused for a moment staring at the ground. Mickey looked up to give his friend all his attention. “I’m exhausted. I don’t want to do this anymore.” Goofy let out a shaky breath and held onto his arm before continuing. “18 years…18 years I’ve been doing this. 18 years I've been a father and photographer by day and magical at night…All of this magical stuff I’ve been alone. I couldn't go to anyone when I was hurt, scared, or sad.”
“You could have come to me…or Donald-” Mickey interrupted, causing Goofy to whip himself around and glare daggers at him.
“Do you really think you would have believed me?! If I had told you, you would’ve thought I was nuts! HYUK!” He turned around breathing heavily in an attempt to calm down. Mickey stared at him for a while, before looking down. He didn’t mean to come off as insensitive, but now he can see the mistake he had made.
“I’m sorry Goofy.” Goofy looked back at Mickey and shook his head.
“No…I’m sorry. You don’t deserve that.” The duo once again walked in silence for a few moments, before Mickey spoke up again.
“What about when Daisy became a magical?”
“That was certainly a shock…I didn’t expect her of all people to make a contract, and I was really worried about her. But…Part of me was happy that I wouldn’t be alone anymore. I’d finally be able to shake some of the burden off my shoulders.” Goofy cracked a small smile thinking back on his time with Daisy. The times he helped her train were a struggle, but they were also hopeful. Now though, it was even darker than before.
“But Daisy is gone, and I don’t trust that feller Oswald…But I can’t keep up Mickey…I’m tired…I’m so tired…” Goofy's voice cracked as he held back his tears. Mickey thought to himself quietly at the sound of Goofys soft sobbing. He had been thinking about becoming a magical for the past month, and even more so about what wish he’d make if he did choose to become one. Even in this moment, deep down he wasn’t fully sure, but seeing someone he loved so dearly in so much pain and agony…His mind was made up.
“Goofy, I will become your magical partner.” The words seemed to leave his mouth before he could comprehend what he was saying, only fully realizing it when Goofy looked at him with a look of shock.
“Mickey…I’m sorry if you feel pressured to do this because of me. I don’t want you to do this unless you’re certain.” He looked into Mickey's eyes. A look of fear and anxiety, but also a small glimmer of hope.
“Goofy, I want to do this. You’ve been a great friend to me, and you deserve some help. But it’s not just that. Knowing that I can help people like you and Daisy and truly make a difference, I don’t think I’ve ever been happier.” He smiled up at Goofy, not an inch of regret or doubt in his voice or eyes. While he didnt feel sure before, he felt it now, and the hope coursing through his veins was enough to make him glow. With a light chuckle, Goofy wiped his eyes with the biggest smile that Mickey had ever seen on him. “
You really are one of the greatest friends I could ask for…” He pulled Mickey into a tight hug which Mickey gladly reciprocated. After what felt like an eternity, the two finally parted with Goofy clearing his throat.
“Well if you’re going to do this then make sure you know what you want. After all this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!”
Mickey let out a soft giggle and nodded “Oh believe me, I know.”
Goofy laughed then put his hand on Mickey's shoulder. “After all it is a contract, so you have to get something out of it! You could wish for your acting career to take off, or perhaps the perfect wedding.” He winked at Mickey after that last comment, causing the short male to blush all shades of red.
“H-Huh?!”
Goofy continued to laugh and began walking again. “If you don’t have anything else on your mind, then perhaps you’ll just wish for that.” Mickey pouted then followed Goofy, still red as a tomato. Not long after they began walking, they heard the horrifying cry of Kyubey.
“Goofy! Mickey! The grief seed is moving!”

Chapter Text
“Goofy! Mickey! The grief seed is moving! You have to hurry!”
Goofy snapped himself out of his bliss and smiles. “Alright! I’m on it!”
He held his hand up as his soul gem formed in his hand before a bright light encased his body, causing his outfit to change once again. Goofy took off running as Mickey followed him. As they ran down the runway, two spotlights shone upon them, exposing them. A familiar that had a body made of ribbons fell from the ceiling, causing the lights to shift. As the familiar rose, the face of it became clear. It was a white theater mask with bright lights in its eyes. Once it rose up it let out a loud blaring siren like noise, causing Goofy and Mickey to cover their ears. The familiar reached up into the air and pulled itself up to who knows where, before the duo heard creaking and the sound of buzzing.
An army of the bee-like familiars flew over along with a few mannequin-like familiars, their bodies creaked and cracked as they slowly stumbled over. Goofy chuckled looking at the small army before pulling out his staff and loosening the metal orbs around his neck. He placed two of the orbs on each end of the staff before rushing toward the familiars. He began beating and bashing the familiars from all around him, the mannequins limbs flying in each direction while the bees shattered like crystals.
‘I feel so free.’ Goofy thought to himself as he continued to fight off various familiars with his staff, orbs, and energy blasts.
The light feeling that coursed through his body made it feel like he was flying as he jumped to avoid every attack that was thrown at him. Hearing Mickey cheering him on from the side only filled him with more hope as he finished off each familiar. Goofy landed beside Mickey, his body having cuts and crystal shards sticking out of his body, but before Mickey could worry, Goofy healed his body with his magic. He then grabbed Mickey's hand and pulled him towards the end of the runway, where the final door laid.
‘I’m not alone. I have my son and my friends. Nothing can ruin this.’
As Goofy and Mickey ran in, they saw Donald and Kyubey hiding behind a ball of yarn. It wasn’t incredibly large, but it was enough to cover them. They crouched beside them, relieved that they were both okay.
“Thank god you guys made it in time!” Donald said, smiling at them.
The room they resided in looked like a studio, but it was as if a hurricane blew through it. Various types of fabric were scattered across the floor and the ceiling, needles and pins littered the floor, and many pieces of furniture were knocked over and/or broken. Many of those mannequin familiars hung from the ceiling, tied up via ribbons of blue, yellow, pink, and red. Though a closer look revealed that the ribbons were tied up in a way that resembled a spider web, with small gems looking like dew drops in various areas of the design. The familiars struggled and thrashed their bodies as an attempt to get away, but they were stuck with what looked like fabric glue.
“Get ready…The witch is coming!” Kyubey shouted as they saw smaller pieces of fabric and ribbons slowly make their way around the grief seed.
As the fabric and ribbons finished surrounding the grief seed, the giant ball it created began to shake like an egg. A crack slowly formed down the center, sounding the slow tearing of fabric. As the orb broke open, a small doll that looked like a cross between a raggedy ann and patchwork doll appeared. Its body is made of various different patterns and stitchwork, and its small dress is purely white. Its hair looked to be made of soft wool that draped a little over its face. Its mouth stitched into a wide smile, while its cold button eyes stared out, the buttons being shaped in a diamond and a heart. A closer look revealed that the little witch had no arms, but rather a ribbon tied around its neck that acted as its arms.
Before the witch could even move, Goofy hit it into the air with his staff, before grabbing one of its arm like ribbons and yanking it back down to the ground, causing it to crash into the needles and pins scattered about.
“Sorry little one, but this won’t take long!” Before the witch could even get back up, Goofy began to beat it with his staff, using one of the metal orbs from around his neck. As the little witch stopped moving, Goofy seized this opportunity to launch himself into the air, smiling at Donald and Mickey.
Donald jumped up and shouted “Yeah!” while Mickey clapped his hands.
Goofy looked back at the small witch before charging up the energy in his staff, pointing it at the witch, then shouted “Purified Energy Blast!” The bright yellow light struck the witch right in the stomach, but instead of glowing and fading, it began to writhe on the floor. As its body shook and convulsed, its stomach ripped open and a giant metal hand came out of the hole. Right after the hand came up, a terrifying monster emerged from the doll's small body.
The beast that emerged was much larger than the doll it emerged from. Its lower body was made up of what looked like a pincushion with six pairs of sewing needle legs sticking out of it, while many small knives stuck out of the top. Its upper body was made of a mannequin's torso and head, while the arms were made of the same sewing needles that the legs were made of. Its body had black cracks that seemed to be stuck together with fabric glue, while its hair hung down looking like long pieces of silk. As the creature looked up, its eyes shone like small red rubies, and its long tongue hung out dripping with the sticky glue like liquid.
Goofy starred in absolute shock and horror at this terrifying witch. He began to fall back down from his jump before, and as he fell the witch launched itself up towards Goofy, its jaw opening wide and its tongue hanging out. He stared at it, frozen with fear, while Donald and Mickey shrunk down, staring at the scene before them. The witch smiled as it clamped its jaws down on Goofy's midsection.

Oswald struggled in the small containment cell that Goofy had made, his body aching from the various shocks he had received. As he was about to give up however, the bright yellow bars flickered out to grey then shattered like glass. He shielded himself from getting cut, and then stared at the broken glass. “No…” He ran quickly down the darkened hall towards the center of the labyrinth. “Not again…”

Donald and Mickey starred as Goofy's clothes turned back to his everyday ones, his legs going limp. The world seemed to slow down as Goofy's bloody lower half fell to the ground with a splat and thud. They let out croaks and squeaks of disgust and terror as the witch bent down to finish feasting on one of their closest friends.
“Make a contract with me! Quickly!” Kyubey shouted at the two men, but both could only stare and tremble, the ringing in their ears blocking out any sort of sound, and the nausea making it hard to move a single muscle. “Mickey! Donald!”
As the witch finished feasting, it looked up at the three of them. It’s mouth covered in a deep crimson as it licked its lips with a twisted grin. “Wish for something! NOW!” Kyubey screamed desperately. A second later a loud explosion went off near the witch, making it shriek and back up.
“That isn’t necessary.” Oswald landed on a giant chair that was tipped onto its side. His eyes were ice cold as he stared at the witch. “I’ll handle this.”
The witch hissed and lunged at Oswald, only for him to suddenly be on the other side of the room. It whipped it’s head around and went to bite him again, only for the same thing to occur. The witch began throwing the knives from it’s back out of frustration in every random direction in an attempt to hit the magical boy. Much to the witches disdain though, the knives seemed to come flying back at it with more explosives in the mix. It screamed again before a small shield spun towards it, sharp blades spinning all along the edge. The shield stuck into the witches chest as it continued to cry out and scream. Once the witch quieted down it heard a light ticking sound, before the shield seemed to explode, causing the witches body to envelope in flames and disintegrate.
Oswald landed a few feet away from where Donald and Mickey were. He walked towards them quickly as a fire burned behind him. “A second later and you both would’ve been witch food.” Before either of them could speak however, something landed in between the three of them. It was a grief seed that was covered in blood, causing the black and grey object to be enveloped in a red hue. “Remember what happened today. This is what it means to be a magical.”
The world around them began to wrap and morph back into the real world, the sun now setting in the distance casting an orange glow across everything. Mickey let out a winded sob as his eyes went to the ground while Donald stared at Oswald as he walked towards the grief seed to pick it up.
“Put that down.” He whispered as Oswald turned to look at him.
“Pardon?” Oswald spoke staring at Donald.
Donald gritted his teeth and clenched his fists “PUT IT DOWN YOU BASTARD!” He ran at Oswald ready to punch him in the face.
Oswald swiftly dodged Donalds attempt to punch him before grabbing his wrist. He twisted Donalds arm then kicked him hard in the stomach, sending him flying back. Donald fell to the ground clutching his stomach, the force causing him to throw up. He coughed, staring at the ground. “Give it back! It’s Goofys…” His head snapped up as he glared at Oswald with tears streaming down his face. “It belongs to Goofy! Give it back!” Oswald stared at him, his eyes showing nothing, and his face scowling.
“Yeah. You’re right. But this can only belong to a Magical, therefore neither of you have any right to it.” He turned on his heel and began walking away with the grief seed in his hand. Donald let out angry and heartbroken sobs, nearly screaming in agony, while Mickey stared at the ground letting out quiet whimpers as his tears fell to the concrete. The world had just become darker.

Chapter Text
Thunder roared as rain fell from the grey sky, drenching the land beneath it. The wind blew hard through the cracks of a small window, before it lunged open, causing Donald to jump and yelp in surprise. He stayed frozen for a while, trying to recover from the sudden loud noise. The window creaked and rocked back and forth, the rain making its way inside onto the wooden floor and countertop before he was able to close it. Donald let out a sigh, cleaning up the cold water, before he sat at his dining room table staring at the variety of bills and letters that littered the surface of it.
“If I can’t get these paid…Then we could lose our home…” He mumbled to himself, while anger and worry built up in his chest. “A-And if I lose this boat…Then…”
His hands began to shake, and his breathing quickened as his mind went to the worst case scenario. He gripped himself trembling as tears blurred his vision. He quickly made his way up the short staircase before peeking into the boy's bedroom. The triplets appeared to be sleeping soundly, despite the raging weather on the outside. He breathed softly as he leaned against the doorway listening to the boy's soft snoring.
“Della…What am I gonna do?...The boys don’t deserve this…” Donald's voice quivered, even in a whisper. He made his way up to bed and sat down, staring off into space. “I need to be better…”

Mickey sat at the table with Felicity staring at his breakfast, the sweet scent of waffles doing very little to stop his shaking. Images from the previous day's events flashed through his mind. The horrifying witch, the way Goofy's body just stopped moving, and the sinking feeling of despair that filled his body after he realized what just happened. His lip quivered as he began to sob, covering his mouth and dropping his fork. Felicity quickly looked up towards her brother, her face contorting to a frown while her eyes oozed with worry. Ever since they were kids Mickey was always so cheerful and positive. Seeing him break down like this felt wrong on so many levels.
“Mickey…What's wrong?” She quickly got up from her chair and went to the side of her baby brother. She gently touched his arm as he looked at her. Mickey wrapped his arms around her sobbing into her chest. He wanted to tell her everything, but…
“Just…Just a long and hard day sis…I’m lucky you’re here…Please don’t ever think I don’t love you!” Mickey choked on his words as his body trembled. Felicity squeezed him tightly, stroking his back. She didn’t understand what had made him so upset, but that wasn’t important right now. All she was focused on was comforting her little brother.
“Maybe you should take the day off. I think the stress is getting to you.” Mickey took a deep breath and wiped his eyes.
“I can’t. Not today. I’m the main person in most of the scenes today.”
Felicity crossed her arms and stared at him, like a mother scolding a young child.
“Michael Mouse…”
“Really Felicity I’m okay. I gotta go now.”
He hurried off before Felicity could get another word in. She remained at the table stunned and worried. A bad feeling ran up her spine as she sat back down with a heavy sigh.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
A loud thud echoed through the studio as Mickey fell to the small mat below. He groaned and rubbed his shoulder in an attempt to ease the pain, though it did little to settle the ache.
“Cut!” Clarabelle shouted out with a loud click and groans from many of the other cast members. “Mickey, that's the sixth take! Are you doing okay sweetie?” She walked over to him slowly before crouching down at his level. He let out a sigh and looked up to her.
“I’m sorry Clarabelle…I guess I’m just out of it today.” Clarabelle grimaced at Mickey's quiet tone, but she didn’t press. Instead, she stood and clapped her hands.
“Everyone! Shut it down for the day. We’ll recuperate tomorrow and film from there!”
The crew looked at each other a bit confused before all dispersing in a multitude of directions. Oswald observed Mickey from across the studio. He stayed quiet as both Mickey and Donald left the studio building. The two men walked in silence before they found themselves at the beach. They sat down by each other staring out at the ocean in silence.
“I feel like a spectator in my own life…” Mickey spoke quietly, running his fingers through the warm sand. Donald looked towards him, but said nothing.
“It’s like everyone’s moving so fast yet so slow…It’s like we’re surrounded by strangers…” Mickey's voice quivered as the waves splashed on shore. Donald stared out at the ocean. The sounds of the sea normally soothed him and helped him breathe, but today they only felt like a mockery.
“That’s because no one else knows…” Mickey bit his lip as Donald continued.
“No one else knows about witches or magicals…They don’t know that Goofy is…” His voice cracked as he closed his eyes tight, trying to push back the awful memories.
“S-So…after all of this…after everything we’ve seen…are you going to make a contract?…” Mickey stared at Donald for a few moments. His mind raced, but he couldn’t form any words, all he could do was tremble and look to the ground. “I thought so…Hey…I’m in the same boat…”
Mickey's breath hitched as he began to sob. His tears falling into the sand. “I-I feel horrible for backing out…But I…I can’t! Just thinking about how he died!” He clutched his hands to his head. “It gets so hard to breathe!” Donald quickly pulled Mickey into a hug, rubbing his back in an attempt to sooth him.
“Goofy was a great person…That kind of courage takes a lot…I thought I knew what it took to fight…b-but.”
Donald began to silently cry himself while holding onto his best friend. It wasn’t long before Kyubey showed up, looking at the two men. He blinked watching them both cry over their lost friend.
Donald looked up at Kyubey and wiped his eyes. “Kyubey…What’s going to happen now that Goofy and Daisy aren’t around?”
“This town had been Goofy’s territory for a long time. Once the other magicals find out he’s gone, they’ll come.”
Donald scoffed and looked to the side “Yeah and then what?! All they’ll care about is getting grief seeds!” He clutches his fist and mutters under his breath “Just like Oswald…”
“It’s true. Most magicals fight for their own benefit. Goofy and Daisy were rare breeds.”
“That’s just-“
“You have no right to judge their actions.” Donald quickly went silent at Kyubey's words. “Only magicals have that right. After all, they share the same destiny.”
The two men were silent as they both looked at Kyubey. They said nothing, but they were thinking the same thing. ‘What destiny? What does that mean?’ Kyubey let out a sigh and shook his head.
“Well, I can’t force you into this. I’m off to find others who have a greater need to make a contract with me.” He turned around but turned back to face them. “Even though our time was short, I did enjoy it.” Mickey then sighed and looked down.
“I’m sorry Kyubey.”
“No. I’m sorry for bringing you both into this.” Kyubey then walked off into the shadows, seemingly disappearing.
Not long after Kyubey left, both Donald and Mickey bid their goodbyes before heading off in their own directions. Neither knew what the rest of the day would bring, but they both needed some time to breathe and think. Mickey walked down the sidewalk until he ended up at Goofy's house. He stood still, his body seemingly feeding at the sight of it. He gulped as he walked toward the front door. Once he reached the door, he slowly pushed it open, slightly surprised to find it unlocked. He stepped inside and just looked around in silence before walking towards the living room. As he entered the living room, he stopped suddenly, noticing a picture on the living room table. As he picked it up, his eyes instantly filled with tears.
The photo showed a picture of Goofy and Max from Max’s graduation day. They both had bright smiles on their faces and looked as if both were on top of the world. Mickey stared at the photo as tears streamed down his face. He began to sob as he hugged the photo.
“What are we gonna tell Max?!” Mickey choked through his sobs still clutching the picture right. “Goofy…I’m so sorry! I’m sorry for everything!” He didn’t know how long he stood there, but after what seemed like an eternity, he set the picture down then walked out of the house, only to be greeted by Oswald standing there.
“Oswald?…”
Oswald stared at Mickey. His eyes were cold, but Mickey swore he could make out a hint of comfort and remorse in them. Oswald walked toward Mickey suddenly, causing Mickey to slightly flinch.
“Don’t blame yourself for what happened. It couldn’t be helped.” Mickey blinked and looked down, unable to meet Oswalds gaze any longer.
“No one blames you, so please don't blame yourself.” Oswalds voice became more gentle as he spoke those words, causing Mickey to ease up a bit. “Now then, have you accepted my warning?”
Mickey’s head snapped up as he looked at Oswald. All he could do was muster up a nod.
“Good…That’s good…” Oswald then turned to leave, but not before Mickey suddenly blurted out
“Can I walk with you?” Oswald suddenly stopped and turned around. He seemed to think for a moments, before giving Mickey a nod.
