Chapter Text
There once was a boy, quirkless, worthless
Poking his nose in everybody's mess.
Analysis felt natural like Grandmaster to chess,
Yet he couldn't help but feel, like he was constantly less.
He wished and wished, to once be a Hero,
But fell and was teased, thought of as zero.
Still he tried and tried, and passed the faithful day
When the hero broke his dreams, and went his own way.
Still he didn't give up, he went with the flow,
Until the exam, where he was dealt a low blow.
Turned away from the gate he was! Alas!
The beach became his destination, thus.
***
There he walked, mind descending to despair
As he walked, to the beach, matching his despair
The stench became stronger, matching his despair
The piles of trash towered, matching his despair
There was a boy, not matching his despair.
White hair, flowing with the rare breeze
That made past the piles of garbage.
Red eyes, cruel, but nothing seemed crueler
Than the ruins of his dreams.
He never realised,
When he found himself
Seated facing him. A face he couldn't focus on.
The boy asked for his story...
He didn't want to tell.
He wanted to go to his mom.
His mom would make him feel better.
But he couldn't make his feet move.
He didn't have the strength to.
He didn't want to admit, but
"I was not allowed to try"
He found the words spilling out,
Painting a picture of shame.
UA was supposed to be different.
The boy laughed and laughed
Smirked and laughed
A broken hero hopeful, ready to be recruited!
What's the matter if he was quirkless!
After all, the first NPC mates,
While essential to progress,
Are always Replaceable.
***
One of his biggest mistakes
Was saying yes
To the Devil that had, then,
Seemed like a Cruel Angel.
