Healing Takes Time

Summary:

Will Solace is just trying his best to keep the Apollo Cabin together after the war with the Titans. At only 13 he is left in charge of his two remaining siblings Austin and Kayla, as well as the Infirmary of Camp Half Blood. As the years pass, Will spirals more and more in self-doubt and much more.
However, things change when he passes out in his bunk only to awake to a completely different Cabin then he fell asleep in.

*Updates are more sporadic, especially in Winter because seasonal depression sucks

Chapter 1: To the Past

Chapter Text

William Andrew Solace ran a hand down his face as he looked over the paperwork on the desk in front of him. This last game of Capture the Flag had gotten out of control - causing a few more injuries than previous games, despite the fact that none of them were life threatening, he still had to do paperwork. At only 15, Will was in charge of the Infirmary at Camp Half Blood as well as of the Apollo cabin.

Though the Apollo cabin wasn't that hard to watch over as it was still only him, his brother Austin and sister Kayla. Both were only a year younger than him, but he was still the only one who had been given any type of medical training from their older siblings. At that though Will teared up in a rare show of grief. With Kayla and Austin, he had been only one of the three to survive of the total 18 Apollo campers from the Battle of Manhattan, with the exception of Lee who had died during the Battle of the Labyrinth.

Rubbing his eyes, Will pushed himself away from his desk and double checked the Infirmary before placing a note on the door for anyone who decided to brave the harpies to go to the Apollo cabin in case of emergency. After pausing to make sure that everything was put away and that lights were off, Will headed to the cabin and his own bed. Kayla and Austin were already asleep when he got there so as quickly and quietly as he could he got ready for bed. Will was fast asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sudden sound of rock and roll caused Will to jump. With a groan he rubbed his eyes before more commotion caused him to freeze. Removing his hands from his eyes, Will looked around the cabin to see nearly every bunk full. Panic took hold of his mind as he saw his siblings - his dead siblings. Whining, he gripped his hair in distress making a quick mental note of the fact that his hands looked smaller, and his hair felt a bit longer than it had been.
As Will rocked himself trying to desperately keep the oncoming panic attack at bay, a couple dark figures entered his blurry vision - seemingly saying something to him. When one of them reached forward, Will flinched so hard his back made contact with the wall before his head did. Will's last thought before completely blacking out was "What the hell".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

14-year-old Lee Fletcher watched as Will blacked out and as his older brother Issac, who was head healer, grab Will to make sure he was okay. "Is he okay?" Lee asked in concern about his newest younger brother.

"Yeah...he just hit his head a bit too hard and blacked out. We'll have to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't actually have a concussion."

"What caused him to panic so much? Normally he's really calm when he wakes up - no matter what song dad plays," their sister and head councilor Addison asked, making her way over after herding some of their younger siblings away from Will's bunk.

Issac looked at his older sister before shaking his head, "Not a clue. Nightmare? Or maybe a demigod dream of some sort?"

The 18-year-old took a careful look at the nine-year-old. Addison could still see some of the panic and fear written on Will's face, even after it relaxed. Placing a hand on Lee's shoulder she told him to make sure that he stayed with Will all day - just to make sure that he was okay. Then she called, "CABIN 7! Get ready for breakfast and let Will be for a bit."

Lee continued to sit with Will as the rest of the cabin became a flurry of activity before heading out for breakfast at the Pavilion. Michael stopped over by Lee, making a promise to bring him and the brother of theirs some breakfast food if Will did not wake up in time to get breakfast.

As the last Apollo sibling headed out of the cabin, Lee looked down at Will and brushing back the bangs from his forehead he whispered, "What happened sunshine? What made you freak out that bad?"

Notes:

So so sorry for a short chapter. I got busy and then suddenly I remembered this and saw it was gonna delete soon so I rushed 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope the later chapters will be longer

Chapter 2: Waking up in the infirmary

Will wakes up

Chapter Text

As the last Apollo sibling headed out of the cabin, Lee looked down at Will and brushing back the bangs from his forehead he whispered, "What happened sunshine? What made you freak out that bad?"

While Will was sleeping, or more like passed out, his siblings decided that it would be the best idea if they moved him to the infirmary. That way, one of them could keep a better eye on him while they did daily activities. At that moment it was one of Will's older brothers who was watching him in the infirmary when he started to wake up.

Will shifted ever so slightly and when he realized he was in the infirmary he froze, pretending to still be asleep. *I'm in the past...holy shit how did this happen...How far back did I even go - * his brain was running these thoughts at what felt like a hundred miles a second. Suddenly a hand was on his arm as he tried to open his eyes the tiniest amount, but not enough for anyone to see that he was indeed awake.

"Willy-boy I know that you're awake. So, you can just open your eyes." A Scottish accent filled his ears as he actually opened his eyes first seeing the ceiling as he heard, "Aye there's a lad. Scared us half to death you did with all your panicking this morning."

Next to the bed was Baird Mallard, a Scottish son of Apollo, and a fantastic healer, if Will remembered correctly, he had died before the Battle of Manhattan, but after the Labyrinth on a mission. His red-blond hair seemed to shine in the soft sunlight coming from the window behind them as he got up to check on Will's vitals and IV.

"Yeah, Lee insisted on an IV after what you went through this morning." Baird told him as if he had read his mind. "Do you want to talk about it Will?"
Will shook his head, as if trying to knock himself out of this dream nightmare hallucination that he found himself in. "No - No I don't wanna..."

Baird's eyebrows scrunched before saying, "Well if you do, I've got two working ears...unlike one of our other siblings."

Will let out a giggle, before throwing a hand over his mouth. What the Hades?! Did he just...giggle

However, that one sound drew a grin from Baird who ruffled his hair before saying, "Don't ever let Mags know that I said that."

"I won't...At least right now I won't." Will said, laughing at Baird's scandalized look.

Their one sister Magdalena was nearly 100% deaf in both ears due to an incident when she was little. So most of the Apollo cabin knew ASL for her sake when she got fed up with wearing the special hearing aids their dad had made for her. She would often make jokes about it, so it didn't bother her for the most part if others joked about it as well - withing a certain limit. The last person who had crossed that limit was an older Ares camper and well...Mags was good with her aim most of the time.

Baird then said, "Okay I'm going to take out the IV now...Do you want anything to hold? Like Mr. Penguin?" He proceeded to pull out a stuffed penguin wearing a bright yellow scrub shirt.

Will gave a small smile before taking him. Not for comfort of taking out an IV, just simply for the memories surrounding the old stuffed animal. While his memories distracted him, Baird took out the IV and did away with other medical equipment around Will.

"There we go Willy Boy. Good as new. Would you like a lollie before we head out?"

Will nodded before leaving the toy behind and following his older brother to the rest of their siblings for whatever activity they were doing at that moment.

Little did Will know that he wouldn't be quite ready for what was coming next for him.

Notes:

A/N: Please tell me someone got my little "joke" with Baird's last name???

Ummm sooooo...I planned to share this faster but apparently my computer restarted, and I lost all that I had written for this chapter which sucked so I hard to remember what I had written before...Then I got more hours at work which left me with little time...
Also you should probably expect slow updates because my brain isn't braining lately... so sorry about that... I hope you enjoyed 😊

Ps: Would you prefer shorter chapters like this one and the previous one or longer ones?

NOTES:
1. Will is 9 years old in this.
2. There are OC Apollo (and others) Campers because why not
3. I will be creating a list of Apollo siblings for Will at some point if you have name suggestions please leave a comment or DM me :)

Chapter 3: Will Doesn't Wanna deal with stuff

Chapter Text

After getting a lollipop from the hidden stash in the front desk, Baird took Will's hand and led him to the archery range where the Apollo cabin was doing their lessons.

"WILL!" one of their sisters yelled seeing him with Baird.

Will's head shot over to where her voice had come from and saw Nikita nicknamed Kit, who was Lee's age. He had never really been close with this dark haired sibling but all the same it hurt to see one who had died at Manhattan.
He gave her a grin around the lollipop in his mouth and waved with his now free hand.

"Will! Good to see you up bud," Isaac said, coming over to the two of them, ruffling Will's already messy hair.

"Whhyyyyyyyy?" Will whined and he brought his hand up to try to fix it.

Isaac got a small smile on his face before asking, "Will are you okay?"

Will looked down and whispered, "I don't wanna talk about it."

"Baird go take a few shots. I've got him," Isaac told their brother, kneeling in front of Will.

Baird nodded, and patted Will's shoulder. "See you 'round Will."

With that he took off towards where Mags was standing, hoping to scare her, or at least that's what Will was thinking considering the two of them were kind of twins. They had the same birthday and the same dad but different moms, so they were twins from another mother.

"Hey bud. Focus. Can you tell me what scared you so much this morning?"

"I don't wanna talk Isaac." Will huffed, crossing his arms. This was so embarrassing; he was 15 being treated like a little kid. No one else bothered him when he was in this kind of mood. However, that traitorous voice in the back of his head whispered, 'But you currently are a kid.' 'Shut up,' Will thought back as he glared at the ground in front of him.

Isaac placed a hand under Will's chin, forcing him to look him in the eyes and said, "William. I need you to be honest with me. Is there something going on that is scaring you?"

"Yes-No. No. There is nothing going on that is scaring me." Will snapped, trying his best to cover up his mistake.

Isaac's eyes hardened as he looked at Will. After an aggravated sigh and a couple moments of calming down, Isaac spoke. "Will. I - We can't help you if you don't tell us what the problem is."

Will's emotions snapped and he exclaimed, "I don't NEED help! I'm fine! Just leave me alone!"

Isaac's shock at Will snap caused his grip to loosen just enough for 15-year-old trapped in a 9-year-old boy to get free and run for the woods.
Isaac shook his head and yelled, "DAN! HELP!"

Daniel looked over and saw Will heading straight for the woods. Being the one closest to the runaway, took after him as fast as he could. When Dan was 13, he had run into the forest once and ran into monsters he couldn't fight because he didn't have his weapons. Every year since then, Dan made it his mission to keep the rest of his siblings and fellow campers from entering the woods without weapons or for capture the flag.

Before Dan could reach him, Will took a sharp turn and ran right past the 16-year-old straight into the woods.

~~~~
The rest of the Apollo cabin stared at where Will had just disappeared. Josephine turned to her brothers and sisters and asked in a heavier French accent, "What just happened?"
Addison also took that moment to turn to her 'second in command'. "Isaac. What set Will off?"
"I asked him if there was anything scaring him. At least enough to gain the reactions he's had today, and he snapped at me. He also said yes to something bothering him and suddenly he was back peddling saying that everything was fine, and he didn't need help."
The entire Apollo cabin looked around at each other. Ever since Will had come to camp when he was 6, he had been the sweetest kid there was, always asking how he could help and rarely ever got upset that they were aware of. So just what was wrong with their youngest brother?
Suddenly Daniel spoke up, "Guys. Will just ran into the woods, unarmed. We need to tell Chiron and Mr. D so we can find him."
Kit nodded her head. "Michael and I will go tell them and get supplies!"
Michael went to protest at Kit volentelling him what to do before he saw the looks of the older siblings. "Fine."
With that those two were off and running, leaving the others to plan on how they were going to find their wayward youngest brother.
Chapter Text
Michael and Kit ran as fast as they could towards the Big House where Mr. D and Chiron were playing Pinochle on the front porch.
"CHIRON! MR. D!" Kit yelled out, coming to a sudden stop in front of the duo.
However, her stopping as she did caused Michael, who was right behind her, to slam into her. The two of them fell to the floor as the adults looked at them. Chiron put his cards down and turned to them.
"Miss Brennan. Mister Yew. What is going on?" The centaur asked in a calming tone.
Kit pushed Michael off of her and jumped up. "It's Will. He - "
Michael cut her sentence off and rushed out, "Heranintothewoods."
Mr. D and Chiron looked at each other before Mr. D said, "Kat what did he say?"
Kit rolled her eyes at the wrong name and said, "Will ran into the woods. In fact he's been acting weird all day today."
"Whatever do you mean? What happened?"
Michael and Kit took turns explaining to the camp leaders what had all been going on with Will since the panic attack this morning. Chiron and Mr. D looked at each other in concern and disguised concern.
"Go look for him with your siblings. I'll alert Sunshine about his missing kid," Mr. D spoke, getting up from his seat and disappearing into the Big House.
Chiron came down to stand in front of the two siblings and said, "Go get supplies and head back to your siblings. I'll gather the older campers to help with the search."
With that Michael and Kit took off for the infirmary and the Apollo cabin to get the supplies that they were sure that their siblings would need to find Will, and what they might need if he got hurt in that forest.
~~--~~
Addison looked around the archery range as more and more of the older campers ran to join the Apollo cabin. She nodded to herself and looked at her siblings.
Dan and Isaac were having a conversation between themselves, with Isaac looking a bit destressed. She guessed he had every right to be, especially with how Will had been today. First he landed himself in the infirmary, under Isaac's care then being watched over by Baird. Then he snapped at his brother before running off into the forest that he *knew* was dangerous. The entire Apollo cabin had told him it was dangerous and that he was never allowed to go in there by himself, or ever with the exception of going with a sibling during capture the flag. They told him it was their own version of the Forbidden Forest.
Looking to her left, Addi spotted Josephine signing and talking with Mags to let her know what was all going on. Baird stood close to them, paying attention to their conversation and chiming in from time to time.
Suddenly she looked to her right as someone placed a hand on her arm, there stood Lee who was concerned as ever, a certain look crossing his face.
"Do you think he's okay in there?" Lee asked, his quiet voice somehow carrying in the loud field.
Addi put an arm around his shoulders and pulled him to her side. Kissing the top of Lee's head (luckily she could still do that), she told him, "I'm sure he's okay...We haven't heard anything yet."
Lee gave her a look. "That doesn't exactly comfort me. What if he got so far in that from here we can't hear anything? What if he's already been hurt and can't call for help? What if -"
Before Addi could say anything to the worrying 14-year-old, Dan came over. The 16 year old placed his larger hand on Lee's shoulder he said, "Stop the What if game dude. It never gets you anywhere. Besides Chiron is here and I see Kit and Michael coming over as well."
He got a small smile from Addi at that, and they all turned to Chiron who started to address the demigods gathered.
"Will Solace has run into the forest. We need to find him before the sun sets. Today has been a high strung day for him so if you happen to come across him, be gentle and don't startle him. Send up the signal if you find him and sound the alarm if you get into trouble yourselves. Miss Brennan and Miss Schaefer will be stationed here with me as medics if we, gods forbid, need their service."
With that said, Addi quickly cut in, "We're going in groups of two or three. No one wanders off alone. We don't know how far Will has gotten. So make your groups as fast as you can. Check in with my sisters and Chiron to make note of who's going with who and then get searching."
She watched as the campers quickly did as she said and began searching. Addi looked over at Isaac who was waiting for her with Josephine. Jogging over Josey said, "I've told our sisters we are going together. But Addi...Do you think Will is okay?"
Looking at Isaac, who looked at her worried as well, she pulled them both into a quick hug before saying, "I pray that he is... If he isn't...But I swear he better be okay otherwise I'm going to..."
Her big sister brain was working overtime, but both of her siblings seemed to get what she meant. With that they joined the others in the search for the missing Sunshine child.
^^This made me tear up 😭😭
Random thing: did y'all know there's a Spanish version and German version of pinochle that are very different? Because I didn't... I grew up playing and still play the German version and had no idea there was a Spanish version where you can play with only 2 people. Reading TLT got me so confused lol
Chapter 5: Will starts to process his emotions
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
Will tore through the dense forest, growing sounds seemingly following him as he got further from forest. His breath came out in pants as tears flowed down his cheeks. Why was this happening to him? For what purpose was he sent back other than to torture him with the feelings he had been trying to bury for so long? To make him face the siblings and friends he had let down?
He came to a sudden stop as a hellhound appeared in front of him. Eyes wide he stared at the creature looming in front of him. Within a second Will was bolting a different direction the hellhound following him.
"Great job you idiot. Running into the woods. Why the Hades did you do that? Especially without a weapon. Idiot, idiot, idiot." Will told himself, right before running into a tree.
Falling to the ground, Will felt blood coming from his lip and put a finger there to figure out he had in fact spilt his lip. Groaning, he went to get up before he was tackled by the hellhound. It growled in his face, and he let out a yelp as the claws dug into his right shoulder.
Will's limited battle instincts kicked in and he kicked the hellhound in the stomach. This startled the hellhound and as Will was trying to get out from under the paw of the giant beast, he thought, "Dad... Help me. Please."
A bright light appeared and scared the hellhound off as Will got up and began to run again. He had paused for a second or two to see if Apollo had actually shown up. Will knew he couldn't, not without breaking the ancient law, but it still stung a little to see that while Apollo had somehow scared off the hellhound, he hadn't come to get Will himself.
More tears ran down Will's face as his thoughts turned to more reasons why he was sent to the past. His thoughts were so chaotic that he nearly missed a hiding hole on his left. Diving into it, he carefully looked around it. Deeming it safe enough for now, Will allowed himself a mental breakdown.
He started to sob as his mind kept coming up with more and more reasons as to why the Fates would have sent him back to his childhood as a broken teen. Why would the Fates have done this?
'We have our reasons William Solace, son of Apollo.' A voice seemed to echo in his head.
'There is a reason for you coming back.' Another one said, sounding very similar to the first but not quite the same.
'Fix your doubts, heal your grief, let yourself become a child again. If only for a short while. Do not worry son of Apollo. There are reasons.' The third voice gently said, before he started to cry again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Addi, Josey and Isaac were racing through the forest. Not too long ago they had been ambushed by some of the monsters who lived in the forest. The trio of siblings had been able to get away without too much damage.

"Did you guys see that?!" Isaac exclaimed, seeing a bright light coming from somewhere up ahead.

"It must be Will! Come on!"

Addi quickly ran towards the light with Isaac and Josey. Somedays she swore that she was going to go grey before she even turned 25 because of her siblings. She loved them all so much, and currently she was extremely worried for Will. Addi kept on hoping that Will would in fact be near the light, and that he was okay.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will had nearly cried himself to sleep when he heard someone yell out, "WILL!"
He lifted his head and waited before hearing again, "WILLIAM ANDREW SOLACE! ANSWER IF YOU CAN HEAR ME!"
With his scratchy voice he called out, "I'm here! Over here!"
"WILL! KEEP CALLING!" That was most definitely Isaac calling, Will could tell.
"Here! Here! Here!" He chanted, his voice growing weaker and weaker.
Just as he was about to pass out, he saw Addi appear from behind a tree with Isaac and Josey following her. Her brown eyes locked onto his blue ones, and she exclaimed, "Will!"
As she rushed over with their other two siblings, Will thanked his dad for getting his siblings to him before letting the darkness consume him.
Notes:
Sorry if this felt rushed... My brain gave me some ideas and then they quickly went away so I did what I could...
At some point I might come back and expand this more but we'll see :)
...letting the darkness consume him.
Josey stared at Will who was now passed out in Addi's arms. He was bleeding from a split lip and from a few other places, like his right shoulder. Tears gathered in the corner of her eyes as she watched Isaac begin to treat their baby brother.
"Josey. Send up the signal." Addi ordered, as Isaac went to pick up Will.
"R-right. Right. I will do that." Josey stammered as she did what she was told before following Isaac out of the forest.
Addi wrapped an arm around Josey's shoulders as they walked, quietly offering comfort to her. Finding Will in such a state was a bit traumatizing, Addi knew that and it scared the crap out of her. As the oldest one in the cabin, she felt responsible for them all and now it was her job to comfort her sister as she processed what happened.
"You okay Josey?"
"Yeah. Yeah... I'm okay..."
"If you wanna talk about it just come to me. Ok? I won't force you to talk."
Josey nodded and they fell back into silence. It took a little while but they soon reached the edge of the forest and they heard Kit yell out, "YOU FOUND HIM!"
"Yeah. Get everyone else out of the woods. I'm taking him to the infirmary." Isaac responded, slightly out of breath as he hurried towards said building.
Mags and Kit turned to their sisters. Hands flying as she spoke Mags asked, "What happened to him?"
Addi shook her head, "We found him in hole under a tree bleeding. I guess he got attacked and hid. There was a bright light that appeared and led us to him."
"Do you think it was dad?" Kit asked, now clinging to Addi's other side.
"I would assume. Now you girls wait for the others to come back. I'm going to go see what I can help Isaac with."
~~~

As Isaac worked on healing Will's shoulder and cut lip he kept wondering what was going on with his baby brother. Something wasn't right with him today but he couldn't think of anything that would have caused it to happen.

Addi came into the room, interrupting his train of thought as she asked, "How is he?"

Isaac shook his head. Wrapping a bandage around a cut on Will's arm he answered, "He'll be ok once he heals up. Nothing to damaging but honestly I feel like I'm missing something. Today's been such a weird day."

"Tell me about it... Should we ask Dad? Maybe he could give better insight on stuff?"

Isaac sighed and turned towards Addi, "You know he can't intervene Adds. So what's the point?"

Addi sighed and said, "Let's just ask. There's no harm in asking."

"Fine. We'll ask. But I still don't expect an answer."

The two siblings left Will sleeping and they went to the office. Grabbing a granola bar, Addi threw it into the small fireplace in the room.

"Dad. Something's been going on with Will today. We don't know what and don't know how to help him. Please. If you can help us..."

Addi trailed off as she couldn't think of anything else to say. Turning to Isaac she froze to see Apollo behind him in the hallway. Isaac snorted, "See told ya."

"Told her what?" Apollo's voice rang out causing Isaac to freeze before turning around.

"Uh...Hi. Hi dad."

Chapter 9: Apollo tries to be a good dad

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

*"Told her what?" Apollo's voice rang out causing Isaac to freeze before turning around.

"Uh...Hi. Hi dad."*

"Hi Isaac. Now. Tell me what's been going on with Will."

"He's been acting weird all day. First he had a major panic attack from seemingly a nightmare or a demigod dream. Then he shuts down when we ask him about it and he runs into the forest where he is then attacked and injured. He passed out once we found him." Isaac explained pacing the floor as he waved his arms around.

" Huh... Let me talk with him once he wakes up. You two go on I'll stay with him for a bit."

Addi shifted a bit nervously at that. "Are - are you sure dad? I don't mind staying with him."

Apollo nodded, "Go ahead and get some sleep daughter. I have to talk to him anyway so I might as well stay. Isaac go with Addi and get some rest. Today has been an odd day for you all."

Hesitantly the two oldest children of Apollo headed back to their cabin to reassure their younger siblings and get some sleep.

~~~
Apollo only needed to wait with Will for a few hours before he woke up. He had been reading some poetry books that had been left in the office by his children when they got bored, he had to admit some of them were written by his own children. He was reading a poem by one of the former Apollo campers when Will croaked out, "D-dad? What?"
Quickly Apollo closed the book and moved towards the bed, "Thank us you're okay. What were you thinking William?"
Will looked away and muttered, "I just was feeling overwhelmed. Had to escape."
"Does this have something to do with the flashes I've been getting?"
The son looked towards his father in extreme confusion. "What?"
Apollo sighed and sat on the bed next to Will, "My domain of prophecy has been acting up lately. In the time I've been sitting here with you I've been getting glimpses of things you've done...or rather will do."
Will didn't respond to that, so he simply asked, "William. Are you from the future? Because our sweet small child would not have randomly started acting this way."
Tears started to run down Will's face as he refused to look at Apollo. The sun god placed a hand under Will's chin to try to make him look at him, but Will stubbornly refused to let him do that. Blowing out a slightly frustrated breath Apollo tried to move his head down so he could look at Will but once again his son didn't let him.
"William. I can't help you if you don't talk to me. I swear I will do what I can to help. Please Will."
That young stubborn son of his finally looked up to meet his gaze. "Yeah... I just woke up here and I don't know why and - and - and..."
Will broke down into sobs and his dad pulled him close. While hugging him, Apollo spoke up, "I don't know why you came back either, but you cannot tell anyone about the future or that you're even from the future."
the gears in Apollo's head were running full speed. Why had Will of all people been sent back? What had happened? From the glimpses he got he knew that Will's future was tough, and some bad things had happened. However the glimpses were not enough for him to try to figure out just why his sweet boy had been sent back, and traumatized at that.
"What do I tell them then? That I'm going crazy?" Will got out, rubbing his cheeks as he looked brokenly at the god holding him.
Apollo pulled away and gave his son a strange look - like a 'what the heck are you talking about child' look. Resting a hand on Will's head he simply said, "Prophecy child. My domain of prophecy."
He laughed a bit as Will's cheeks turned red as he whispered, "Oh. Yeah. Right. Sorry."
"Don't apologize son. We'll just tell them you're getting more prophetic dreams lately and it's freaking you out."
"But - but Dad... Dad I'm scared."
Apollo froze and looked at Will in concern. True, he was a god and thus because of the ancient laws he wasn't allowed to do much with his children but that didn't mean he didn't care. Heck he would do anything for them, to see them safe as long as it was in his power. This issue with Will so happened to be more within his power.
Pulling Will into yet another hug, Apollo said, "Will. Don't be afraid to call to me if you need help. Even if it is something you can't tell me about. Just know I'll come when I can to help you. Surely there is a reason for this. Ok?"
He didn't get a response as Will had fallen asleep in his arms, desperately clutching to his arm. Apollo smiled down at him and moved him to a more comfortable position before going to talk to Dionysus about Will's behaviors. He kept making a mental list of things to try to get answers and questions he had, but he knew that soon he would have to talk about just what had happened to Will and ask for answers from the only people he knew could give answers - the ladies fate themselves.
Chapter Text
The next time Will woke up, Apollo was gone but Kit was sitting next to his bed with sheet music laying on his side. Kit was using him as a music stand yet again as she pretended to play an imaginary violin.
"Kit?"
She jumped out of her chair and fell to the floor. Grabbing her sheet music and putting it on her chair, Kit launched herself at him. As Will tried to back away from the aggressive behavior of his youngest older sister, before he found himself dragged into a hug.
"Uhhh hi?"
"You idiot!" Kit spoke up, pulling away from him.
As Will looked at her, he saw the concern in her eyes. Even though he didn't really interact with his violinist sister much in his previous past, he vowed to make that change this time. Tilting his head, Will let his eyes wander her face, taking note of the dark circles under her eyes, despite being only 12 years old, and the seemingly permanent crease between her eyes from the concentrated look she always seemed to have.
That's when he snapped out of his daze to realize that she had been lecturing him about what he had done.
"ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME?!"
Will flinched back and Kit froze before realizing she yelled at him. "Oh crap I'm sorry bud... I didn't mean to yell I just..."
"You were concerned. I know."
This time Kit started to look closer at him, and he shifted uncomfortably. Finally she sat back down in her chair, forgetting the music there as she crossed her arms. "Ok What is going on with you Will?"
Will shut his mouth with an audible click as he pondered what to tell her, however he was saved at that moment by Addi and Isaac both walking in. Upon seeing Will awake, Isaac calmly walked over to check on his IV while Addi rushed over to both pull him into a hug, at the same time going on about how worried they were.
Finally Isaac chuckled and pulled her back, "Let him breathe Adds. We'll get our answers in due time. Which... is now. Kiddo what's been going on? You went from being our bubbly little brother to a complete... well wreck overnight."
Twisting the blankets in his hand Will mumbled his answer. Addi placed a hand to her ear, "What was that I couldn't catch it."
Rolling their eyes at Addi, the other two Apollo kids in the room sighed at her poor imitation of their deaf sister. Letting out an exasperated sigh Will repeated himself,
"Just... Flashes of visions. Dad said I may have gotten some of his prophecy powers."
The three older siblings stared at him, before Addi sat down on the edge of his bed. "That is... Wow. That sounds like a lot to handle... baby you could've come to us. We're always willing to listen."
"I don't wanna mess anything up," came the heartbroken whisper.
"You won't. We won't let it happen." Kit got out, just as she realized she was sitting on her music, "DANG IT!"
As Will, Isaac, and Addi watched her jump up to rescue her now bent music, Will started to giggle which was contagious. Soon all four of the Apollo kids in that infirmary room were laughing, before they heard the conch horn blow for dinner. Isaac turned to Will and asked, "Can I trust you to eat dinner and behave?
"Sir yes sir!" Will exclaimed with a very fake Scottish accent he had picked up from Baird while mock saluting the eldest brother.
Laughing again, Isaac took out the IV and scooped Will up. Heading with their sisters to the dining hall, for a long-awaited, hopefully peaceful, sibling meal, Will knew that they were going to tell the others about his "new power" but he didn't mind. As long as he got more time with his lost siblings, he was happy.
