Chapter 1: Confusing feelings :(
Chapter Text
Wednesday couldn’t believe her eyes. She didn’t understand what in the seven rings of hell was going on in her heart. She had only snuck out to spy on what Enid had snuck out for. She didn’t expect to see her bubbly wolf meeting up with some hooded figure behind the greenhouse. Much less for them to share such a…passionate embrace.
What could've led to this?
A few nights earlier…
“Where are you going?”
Enid didn’t acknowledge the girl’s question, simply continuing to put on her shoes. She couldn’t stand being in the dorm for another second, her heart wouldn’t be able to take it. Being in the same room as her crush/bestie/literal soulmate was wearing her thin, and she needed to go to the one place she knew Wednesday didn’t know about. Just as she stood up to leave, Wednesday spoke.
“Enid. Where are you going in…such a hurry?” The Addams girl was curious, the wolf didn’t say she had anywhere to be, even more so when that vampire was busy with her girlfriend.
“Just, uhh, going out to Jericho for a few things. I’ll be back sometime later.” Enid replied, hurriedly making her way to the door but the other continued.
“Most of the shops in Jericho are closed by now, including your favorites.”
“Not all of them! I have to go like now before it closes. I’ll see you later!” With that Enid makes her escape leaving her roommate quite confused.
Enid carefully makes her way through the halls, reaching the gate and jumping over. As she glances up, she can see Wednesday staring down at her before she turns and runs to Jericho.
….
A young girl sits on a stool hunched over the cashier and her phone. Scrolling through the only social media she dares to have, she sighs in boredom even as her favorite songs play throughout the store. The music shop she currently resides in is a quaint little store that sells records, cassettes, merch, posters, etc. of almost every music genre. Anime merchandise even has its little corner. It had its fair share of customers throughout its days, but there were days like these where almost no one came.
The door jingles, signifying that someone has entered, and may be a potential customer. But the cashier knows hardly anyone comes to this store at this time, especially sounding out of breath as if they were running here. So the cashier simply smirks as a blonde head slumps on the counter groaning.
“Still out of shape, I see,” The cashier said, scoffing as the blonde tried head-butting them in the chin, narrowly missing.
“Still a bitchless I see,” Enid replied, her face showing the playfulness of the situation
The cashier smirks once more before pointing at two pins on their name tag, with almost the same color scheme except one had a line of green and the other purple.
“As I intended, I’ll have you know.” The worker smugly states, the blonde rolling her eyes before sighing:
“I just don’t know what to do, Luna! She's just so! So…so her!”
The worker, Luna, rolled her dark brown eyes, before standing up. The girl started to take off her sweater, draping it over the wolf's back.
“I’m assuming this is about that infamous roommate of yours?” Luna asked, going about the store and making sure the lights and certain places were turned off for the night. The blonde groaned, taking the cashier seat, and following the movement of the brunette worker as they went about their nightly duties.
“Ugh, yes! Just being in the same room with her is driving my wolf insane. I can’t even go a day without thinking that she’ll never like me back.”
Luna hummed in understanding, finishing cleaning up and making sure everything was in place for the next day, taking out the keys she stood in front of the blond once more. Placing a hand on the werewolf’s shoulder they spoke.
“Listen, you’ve been gushing and angsting over your roommate for like what, half a year now? And nothings changed! I know that’s hard to accept but I’m not gonna let you spend your life wasting away in heartbreak.”
“Then tell me, what should I do to just get over her?” Enid begged, eyes becoming glassy
Luna furrowed their eyebrows, a frown forming on their face but it quickly changed when she remembered something. Looking straight at the eyes of the blond they told her the plan.
“Look, there’s this party a bunch of normies invited me out to. It’s nothing big, just a house party. I wasn’t gonna go cause Ew people but check this out, I heard there’s a lot of normies who’d want to hit up outcasts. Crazy shit I know, but this could be your chance at getting over this girl!”
Enid scrunched her face at the fact that the party would be filled with normies, but she didn’t see anything wrong with it considering that the normies in Jericho have been calmer with outcasts as of late.
“Fine, but if I don’t like it and don’t find anyone, we’re leaving.” Enid agreed, pointing her finger at the other, who only chuckled and compiled.
Once Luna fully closes the shop and brings down the chained gate, the two take a small stroll before reaching the hill up to Nevermore. They chat as they hike up the trail, both informing the other about their lives or interests. Before reaching the gate Luna smiles at Enid, bids the girl goodbye, and leaves. Enid scales the gate once more and quickly tries to reach her dorm without getting caught. Once she reached the dorm, she entered thinking Wednesday was out on her late-night adventures.
“Who was that?”
Chapter 2: It’ll pass…

Chapter Text
Enid jumped, her claws coming out in fright before she turned around and saw Wednesday sitting in her desk chair, arms crossed, a furrow in her brow.
“Wednesday! I thought you were out doing your daily scouting in the woods!” Enid stuttered out, quickly going to her closet hoping to get out of any conversation.
“You didn’t answer me, who was that?” The Addams girl continued, getting up and standing in the middle of the room waiting for Enid to come out.
“Uhh, who are you-“
“The person who you were engaging in conversation with, behind the main gate. Who was it?”
Enid didn’t know what to do, Wednesday wasn’t supposed to know of Luna, at least not yet. She was going to tell her, but Luna would probably tease her way too much if the two most sadistic people she knew met.
“Just one of my friends, who also happened to be sneaking out. You don’t know her so it’s not that importan-”
“A friend from Nevermore? If she was enrolled here, why would she head back to Jericho?” Wednesday countered, eyes narrowed in suspicion, and something else Enid couldn’t place.
“W-well she’s much more of a rebel than me, so she wanted to be out for longer. Like you!” Enid nervously replied, stepping out of the closet with Luna’s sweater in hand
Wednesday was about to retaliate, but the sharp contrast between the sweater Enid had and all her other clothes wasn’t easy to miss. She knows exactly what Enid was wearing when she unexpectedly left and that black sweater with the almost correct anatomy of a skeleton was not part of it. Enid noticed Wednesday’s heated glare was directed at Luna’s sweater, curious as to why she answered the unspoken question.
“This was hers, she let me borrow it because I forgot to bring my own. Totally not my color I know, but her style is almost exactly like yours, just….more modern gothic” Enid proceeded to neatly fold the sweater, before placing it on her desk, to help remind her to give it back.
Unbeknownst to the pastel werewolf, the Addams kept glaring at the piece of clothing as if she stared hard enough it’ll set on fire. (If only) As Enid was preparing to sleep and forget this whole conversation, she started to notice a couple of things. However, as the ditzy girl she claims she isn’t, she started to think aloud, not knowing the damage she’ll end up doing.
“You know, my friend is also stingy about her clothes and stuff, kinda like you…Oh, and she’s also a writer! Her songs and poems are to die for. You guys have a lot in common now that I think about.” Enid shrugs, waving the thought off before leaving to the bathroom to finish her nightly duties.
Wednesday stood there in the middle of the room, frozen at the comparisons the wolf made. Enid’s oh-so-mysterious friend has a similar style to Wednesday, and she gladly wears the unknown girl’s sweater that isn’t part of her color palette. Yet, when Wednesday suggested adding a little black to the girl's outfit, Enid practically shoots her down. On top of that, this girl receives praise for writing short poems? For some reason unknown to her, it irks Wednesday more than anything has before.
Shaking her head, Wednesday heads for her own bed, hoping the sleep will help clear her mind from these…feelings.
*******
“Having another rendezvous with that anonymous friend of yours?” Wednesday asked, her fingers tapping aggressively on her typewriter.
It’s been almost a week since that conversation between them, and ever since then, Wednesday noticed Enid kept leaving at the same time the past few days. And each time she returned, Enid would be wearing something that completely contrasted her outfit, which the Addams just knew was from that friend. Whether it was black eyeliner, lipstick, or the most shocking (and infuriating), nail polish. Enid would always come back with something, and she would always play it off whenever Wednesday asked, saying she was hanging out with Yoko.
“Wednesday. I already told you, I’m having a long overdue girl’s night with Yoko! I promise, I’ll be back no later than 9….ish.” Enid sighs, putting on her shoes, completing her casual outfit.
“Of course I have no doubt you do.” Wednesday practically snarked, but looked back when the door opened.
“Whatever Willa. I’ll see you later!” With that Enid left, her footsteps rapidly fading away.
Wednesday stopped typing, her hands curling into fists. Thing hopped onto her desk, noticing the girl’s tensed posture.
‘What’s got you so upset?’ He asked, his tapping soft and gentle.
“I’m not quite sure I understand Enid’s…friendship. It…infuriates me so, more than missing a shot at Pugsley's head.” Her face stays in her neutral state, but her hands tighten before flattening themselves on her shorts.
She sharply turned to Thing, her eyes cold and shutting off any underlying emotion.
“Speak a word of this to anyone, and I’ll pull out every fingernail and cuticle. Slowly” Thing did the equivalent of a scoff, before jumping off her desk and to Enid’s bed where a magazine awaits him.
Wednesday straightens out her already impeccable poster and decides to put all her focus onto her novel. Totally not to avoid thinking about Enid in embrace of someone else as they apply whatever black makeup on her. Definitely not.
