Chapter Text
Normally, every beginning to a story is a happy one.
and sometimes, they start with 'Once Upon a time'.
But not this one.
Nope, it starts in a very dark, cold, grim, and disgusting place - a dungeon.
A dungeon on a faraway planet, to be precise.
In a cell, some kids were arguing and complaining to each other.
Additionally, there were other people, mostly adults, in the cell with them, and they appeared quite upset and worried.
They were wearing colourful-looking South American-style clothes that looked almost like they came from the 1950s or 1960s; one side was adorned with warm colours and the other with cool colours. One scruffy-haired man wore what looked like a raggy green poncho, and an elderly woman wore a magenta dress.
"To be honest," said a dark-skinned man with black hair wearing a bright yellow shirt, amber pants and beige slip-on shoes, "I'm having a really hard time putting a positive spin on all of this."
"Si." said A thin Latino man with black hair and glasses wearing a white shirt under a blue vest, blue pants, with mismatching socks and brown shoes. "Whoever woulda thought fate would bring this to us?"
"I know." said a motherly woman with dark brown curly hair in a messy updo and wearing a tiffany blue dress and apron, who was just as unhappy as her husband. "One minute you've got a nice life in your isolated village, the next thing you know, you're stuck in a prison on a planeta en el espacio exterior, with a whole bunch of ninos panicking and arguing."
The elderly woman was staring out at those arguing kids, from where she was sitting. She glanced into what seemed to be a locket. "Oh, Pedro." she whispered mournfully, "What have I done to deserve all this?"
She sighed as she looked out at the kids. a few tears trickled down her wrinkled face. "Ay." she muttered sadly. "I wanted what's best for mi familia, but now..." She sighed.
Now, I know what you're thinking.
Who are the people in the cell with the kids?
Why are they in the cell with the kids?
And how on earth did they all get into this mess, I hear you ask?
Well, to answer these questions, we need to look back, around 50 years ago...
