Chapter Text

“I don't even know at this point” you shrug, walking through the park with dexter

“Exactly, and then-” he stops suddenly, you're about to question it before you find out yourself what made him stop

There's a smell in the air

BLOOD

You two look at eachother with worried gazes, who could it be?

Your gazes turn stern as you nod at eachother and start walking towards the source

It's coming from that alleyway, someone most likely found someone weaker than them alone in the alley and decided to be an ass or it's a monster hater or vice versa

Ugh

You two approach the place quietly and when you're finally there your eyes widen

Is that…

“Frisk?” You mumble, but hear no answers

Frisk is just laying there, unmoving, covered in blood

“Frisk?!” You say loudly, running to them with dexter by your side

You both kneel next to the child, you bring their head on your knee

“Frisk? Frisk?! Frisk!” You shake them but hear no reply

Until they slightly open their eyes

“Frisk! What happened?!”

“Hello miss y/n” they say weakly “am i going to be ok?” They ask, tear gathering in their eyes

“of course! You'll be just fine”

“We'll get you to a doctor and you'll be good in no time, little buddy” dexter says, not sounding so sure himself, Almost like he's trying to convince himself

“What happened?!”

“I wanted to look around…” they start coughing, blood splashing on their clothes

You can feel yourself shaking, afraid of the future

“Ok ok, no more talking” you eay, carefully picking them up

“Let's go” dexter nods and you two start rushing away, trying to find something or someone that can help

As you're running, you see the queen walking towards you, her eyes widen as she sees frisk. She freezes in her place watching you run towards her

“Wha…”

“Just hurry up!” You say, running past her, she starts running as well, following after you

“What happened?!”

“We don't know… we found them in an alleyway” dexter explains as tears threaten to fall down your face

“Where's alphys?!” the queen and her might be together and she's the closest you have to a doctor

“Just up ahead!”

“They're gonna be alright, they're gonna be alright, everything's ok, it's all good” you keep repeating, running as fast as you can

You finally see where alphys is and run faster

“Alphys! Alphys!” she looks at you, her own face turning horrified as she sees what's going on

You hurry past her, putting frisk on a bench

“Do something!” You shout, watching alphys stumble forward and towards the small child

She quickly checks their vitals, her eyes widen

Is it that low?!

“Come on, close the wound, stop the blood from coming out, clean the wound i don't know! Do some shit!” You grip her collar, shaking her

The queen makes you let go of her as she stands between you two and holds you back

“What is it?!”

“There's… there's no…” alphys mumbles

“What?!” Dexter asks, just as afraid as you are

“There's no vitals…”

…

Wh- what…

“No…” you shake your head slowly, covering your mouth as you hear the news, looking at her in disbelief

“What?” The queen asks in the same tone

“no vitals… there's nothing” alphys checks their wrist, their neck their chest “nothing…” she sounds out of it herself

You quickly walk over again, looking at the small child

“Frisk?! Come on, don't scare us like that!” You put your head on their chest, hearing no heartbeat whatsoever

No

Tears start falling down your cheeks, leaving a red trail in their wake

“Frisk! Frisk!” You shake them more, crying and sobbing as you shake the body “come on, you can't just… leave…” you slowly stop shaking the body

The queen seems to pass out as she holds her head and falls to the ground, dexter just stares in horror, not able to do anything, alphys brains seems to be almost shut off, she just looks around, starting to hyperventilate as she falls on her knees

undyne walks towards you with two icecreams in her hands

“Hey al i-” she cuts herself off staring around in confusion until her eyes land on the child's body

she covers her mouth, the ice creams falling on the ground, before running to you

“What happened?!” She gets no reply “what happened here?! Answer me dang it!” She gets ahold of your collar and shakes you

“No vitals…” you mumble, covering your face as you mumble

She let's go of you and takes a step back, looking devastated

You feel your knees getting weaker and weaker and finally they give up on you

You fall on your knees, crying in your gloved hands your head falling on the child's stomach

If you found them earlier, just if you were there sooner…

You stand there, looking at the coffin, feeling empty…

After that day, every monster has been informed about what had happened but sadly there is no clue as to who was responsible for this

Today is the day of the funeral, the king has decided to have it in human’s way, giving the small child to the ground.

You stand there, watching the coffin go inside the grave

You can't believe this day has come… you can't believe they're gone

the queen is crying in the kings arms as he looks down as well, looking broken

Sans and papyrus stand there, sans no longer having even the smallest smile on his face, both have lost the light in their sockets, leaving a black void behind

Nathalie seems to be acting sad but there's no tears on her face, beth has small tears running down her cheeks, undyne and alphys are having the same sad expression everyone else holds

Your friends are also here, they loved the small child just as much as you did

Everyone here looks sad and exhausted

You just…

“I wish i was there sooner…” you mumble, looking down before feeling a hand on your shoulder, you look at the owner seeing dexter looking at you with his ears down, not looking any better than you

You hug him, crying as everything goes down

“It wasn't your fault…” he mumbles, petting your head

“Maybe I could have prevented this…”

“none of us knew that would happen… it's ok…”

After they start to pour the dirt on the coffin you can't take it anymore and start crying louder, gripping dexters clothes tightly, you aren't the only one though, the queen has the same reaction

you just can't believe it's the small young child inside of the coffin right now…

“What were they doing alone in the damn streets?! You know how dangerous it is then why let a child go there alone?!” you ask, pointing at the rulers accusingly

“They left themselves! They were playing hide and seek when we couldn't find them and decided to search further” nathalie says, crossing her arms

“if you can't take care of a child, just don't do it!” dexter was right, It's not your fault, it's theirs! They shouldn't have left a small child out in the streets all alone!

“Y/n… the king and queen are as sad as you are… you shouldn't-” you cut beth off

“Don't you start this shit talk with me! They're sad!? They better be! Cause it's all YOUR fault!” You say, turning around angrily and leaving the room

It's their fault! They took the small child from you!

You cannot give up just yet… stay DETERMINED

Frisk gasps as they sit up, looking around and finding themself in a dark place… no it isn't dark, it's black, with no source of light

They stand up… what happened?

Oh, right, they were attacked when they snuck out to see miss y/n… and then… miss y/n was there… and she said it will all be ok… but it seems it didn't… where is this place?

Don't lose hope… stay DETERMINED

is that… dad? The child looks around, not able to see anything…

“Y/n… the king and queen are as sad as you are… you shouldn't-” miss beth?

“Don't you start this shit talk with me! They're sad!? They better be! Cause it's all YOUR fault!”

Miss y/n? No no, it's not their fault… it's not! Frisk snuck out themself!

No no, this cannot happen! They should go back! Back to where they belong! Back home! Frisk can't stay here! Wherever here is!

The future of monsters depends on you… stay DETERMINED

DETERMINED? What does that mean? DETERMINED… yeah! They shouldn't lose hope! They Are DETERMINED, DETERMINED to go home! To go to dad! To mom!

They see light starting to spread through this weird room but it doesn't matter because

You are filled with DETERMINATION

They should go back! To papyrus, to sans, to miss beth!

The room keeps getting brighter and brighter

To miss y/n! To mr.dexter! To miss felicity!

The lights starts getting blinding, the small child covers their eyes, they can feel their very SOUL starting to thump heavily in their chest, until it slowly comes out of their chest, Shining brightly as it floats infront of them

To mr.kenzo! To mrs.charlotte!

Their SOUL beats one last time before they slowly open their eyes

Sitting straight their head hurts… looking around frisk finds themself at… home… not HOME but home, the home they originally had on the surface! They look at their hands and body, observing themself, they're… they're back! They stand up quickly, starting to run towards mount ebott, they should go back! They don't know how they got here, but they should get there as fast as possible!

They keep running and running

They'll be back soon!

You were running, where? you dont know you were just following the target. how you got here? well to get the answer to that we have to go a little back in time.

For a little background you work for an agency which gathers mages in one working place to stop people who decided to use their magic for bad purposes (since you live in a world where alot of humans have access to the magic in their SOULs and can use them as they please even though different SOULS have different kinds of magic) you have the SOUL of bloodlust a blood red soul that you can easily mistake for DETERMINATION. your magic is blood manipulation, even if the blood is still inside people's body.

it all started when you were called for a mission

"Y/n mr boss called us on a mission" Rachel says, approaching you with a smirk, she is one of your co-workers -that you've become quite close with- I guess you could even call her your best friend it was one of those friendships you've never seen coming but you're happy it happened. A few mission together and here you were considering her your best friend.

"But i just came back from one less that an hour ago" you argued while looking at the brown haired blue eyed girl infront of you.

"Why are you complaining to me? im not the one deciding who goes on a mission and who doesn't" she replied with an eye roll. you sigh, just following her to where the team chosen for this specific mission was gathered at. Looking around and checking the people, there is no one that you've met before.

"alright team its an easy mission we're just gonna catch a drug dealer and bring him back here" said a 48 year old man with short dark brown hair by the name of blake hatchett which everyone calls mr.hatchett also known as mr.boss since he was the captain of your agency and he was kinda bossy. even though you see him as a father figure and he was the one hiring you in the agency in the first place.

"wait, what? why are we going to catch a drug dealer can't the police force just get them, its their job either way" said a blonde dude you didn't recognize nor care enough to do.

"because david, he's not selling normal drugs and the guy himself is not a normal guy either" mr.hatchett said while putting a little emphasize on the guys name which apparently was david. of course not before sending a glare in his way.

"are we talking about that new type of drug that makes magic powers awfully strong?" Asked a girl with dark beautiful black hair that was in a ponytail.

"Sadly, we are." mr.hatchett replied

"And what makes the guy special and 'not normal'?"

"He is a magic user, with the drugs in his hand it will be a risky mission" mr.hatchet replied.

Great. just amazing, right after a mission you're going to a risky one.

"Can we just go" said Rachel. you're just happy she said your thoughts out loud. and to the mission you went. turns out your mission was on mountain ebott.

"mountain ebott... sounds familiar" you thought out loud, sitting in the van of the agency as you all make your way to the mountain

"maybe beacuse you live in a city named ebott" said Rachel while smirking

"no, other than that, feels like I've recently heard about it"

"maybe you've heard the rumors. the one that says: people that go up there never return.and also there is another one saying that there are monsters living under it" said a girl with big blue eyes

"Oh yea you're right" you replied, yes, that's where, you've heard it in a passing conversation between two passerbys

You were currently on your way to the location that the guy(drug dealer) was at, with the team of course. mabey it wasn't ganna be that bad after all.

You take it back.

you really with all your might take it back.The guy was fighting back which wasn't an issue until he got cornered and decided to use some of that drug, after that little-predicted-accident, that dude was so annoyingly strong but you were there teamed up with 15 people so you were able to get him either way _or better say mr.hatchett did- anyway right now the guy's hair was in mr.hatchetts hands.

"We got you, you peice of dirt"-wow what a curse- so everything is finally over and going smoothly amazi-

Aaaaaand here we go again. Did that guy just disapear? did he teleport? no you could still smell him. probably you were the only one too. beacuse of your magic you had amazing senses. so it wasn't a surprise when mr.hatchett told you to follow and catch him.

"Y/n" well, he motioned anyway.

And here we are at where we started. you following that dude on mount ebott. 'His smell is coming from inside that cave' so the cave is where you go. its real dark in there. but you aren't that bad at seeing in the dark you dont have night vision but its still stronger than alot if people, so of course you notice a big hole infront of you. for a second you were thinking back on that rumor you heard a little while back and the big eyed girl mentioned earlier. maybe the rumor is true what if this hole is where connects the surface to the UNDERGROUND?

Wait… that noise!

You turn around quickly, dodging right before the fucking drug dealer can push you inside

Your SOUL thumps strongly, what the fuck?

It doesn't matter yet! You kick the guy in the chest, and make his blood stop pumping to his legs, he falls on the ground

Seems like that's taken care of

You take a hold of his clothes and start dragging him away

DAMN he's heavy

As you start walking away from the hole you feel… weird… like you should be doing something but you're not… but you've already captured the dude… what else?

A proud grin comes on mr.hatchetts face as you approach, he nods at you, taking the drug dealer and walking towards the vans, everyone starts leaving as well but you can't shake that feeling off…

You stand there for a while, watching everyone leave

“You're here too!” You hear a voice say, you look at the person, it's a girl, brown hair, blue eyes, shorter than you but probably around the same age

What is she doing here? This is considered dangerous territory 

“What are you doing here?” You say with a frown

“I think the same reason you're here for” it seems she's not alone as another voice also reaches your ear, it seems to be a blonde girl, again blue eyes and shorter than you

Maybe they've mistook you for someone else?

“I think not” you say, putting a hand on your hips “yall better go back, this is dangerous territory, none of you is supposed to be here, go home as soon as possible”

“Why? So that you can go alone?” The blonde girl says accusingly

You just look at her with a grimace

“I don't know what you're going on about, but you better go home as soon as possible” you start walking away, towards where the vans are

“Wait… you're leaving?”

“Yeah? Who would want to be in a random mountain” you don't even spin around and just walk away

“But-” a new voice says “don't you want to see king asgore again? Or papyrus? Or the others? Mr.dexter? Miss felicity? Mr.mettaton?” The new voice says

…

Who?

You come to a stop and turn around, looking at the source which appears to be a small child

“Who?” You say, tilting your head “listen, i think you've mistaken me for someone else, go meet this… asgore whatever yourselves, maybe you'll find your friends” you wave a dismissive hand before starting to walk away again, what are these three going on about?

“Then what were you doing here?”

Don't make it sound suspicious, you're not wearing your uniform currently so don't make it suspicious!

“My job, and now I'm going back. You better leave soon too, it's dangerous to be out at night” you say and finally leave

After a little bit of walking you see rachel running towards you

“Where were you?! Come on, everyone is waiting!” She says as she reaches you

“I don't know… i just… have i forgotten to do something? I feel like there's something i should be doing… but I'm not…”

“No, you haven't, calm down” you two are walking towards the vans but then you come to a stop and look back again, rachel looks at you questioningly

“I don't know…” your SOUL thumps one more time but this time, it's weaker

“There's nothing”

Hm…

“Yeah… you're right” your SOUL finally stops as you restart walking to the vehicles, maybe you were just paranoid or curious? Cause you didn't get to see the hole throughly

Yeah, that must be it

Beth opens her eyes suddenly, sitting up on her bed… her bed… HER BED

HER bed

Not the one in the castle, but the one she had on the surface… was that… a dream? But that seemed too real…

She stands up, her eyes landing on the calendar and the clock

7 am

but… what the… it's last year… the year on the calendar… it's last year… around the time the queen said y/n fell down… was that really all a dream?

Gasp!

Nathalie wakes up with a start

Looking around as her bretahing calms down, she finds herself in her room

“What?...” was that a dream? No no… it was too real for that… it FELT too real for that… no way that wasn't real

What…

She looks at the clock, it's almost 9 pm…

She should see…

She should see for herself

Beth is walking closer to the hole she remembers so vividly she fell down into when she hears footsteps, running towards her

She looks at the source and-

“Frisk?!”

“Miss beth!”

“So that was real?! But how?!”

“Tell me about it” nathalie?!

Beth looks at where the voice came from and sees nathalie walking towards her and frisk

“so that WAS real…” good cause she was kinda afraid to jump in the hole just like that and alone too…

“hurry up! We should go!” Frisk says, pointing at the place

As the three start walking towards there beths eye catches something

Is that…

“You're here too!” beth says, walking towards y/n, she's here too! Nathalie rolls her eyes as frisk smiles widely

They watch y/n look at beth

“What are you doing here?”

What? She expected them to not be here?

“I think the same reason you're here for” nathalie comments, annoyed at this, ugh, she's here too

“I think not” what is that supposed to mean? The three don't know what they're supposed to think, if she's not here for the same reason, then what? “yall better go back, this is dangerous territory, none of you is supposed to be here, go home as soon as possible”

“Why? So that you can go alone?”

They watch y/ns face turns to a grimace, almost looking confused

“I don't know what you're going on about, but you better go home as soon as possible” she says as she starts walking away, but not toward the UNDERGROUND, but towards the other side

What is going on with her? Maybe she doesn't want to be down there? No, the three know good enough, she loves the monsters down there

“But-” frisk tries to stop her but she doesn't “don't you want to see king asgore again? Or papyrus? Or the others? Mr.dexter? Miss felicity? Mr.mettaton?”

They see her stop and turn around looking at them with a confused gaze as she tilts her head

“Who?”

What…

“listen, i think you've mistaken me for someone else, go meet this… asgore whatever yourselves, maybe you'll find your friend you're mistaking me for”

what? No, they're sure it's her, it's definitely her

“Then what were you doing here?”

“My job, and now I'm going back. You better leave soon too, it's dangerous to be out at night” she walks away and out of their sight

“She didn't remember…” frisk says, Looking at where she just disappeared from

“It seems not…” the three look at eachother a little more before starting to walk towards the UNDERGROUND

they hope to find out what is going on at least down there…

Papyrus wakes up and gets out of the bed before doing everything he should, as he and sans are having breakfast they hear loud, desperate knocks on their door

The brothers look at eachother before papyrus goes to open the door, finding the dog monster that's a part of the royal guard there

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?”

“have you seen y/n?!”

“Y/N? WHO'S THAT?” He rolls his eyes

“y/n!”

“what are you going on about?” Sans walks next to his brother, looking confused

“The calendar, it shows a year ago, not the mention, y/ns house is nowhere to be seen and now this?!”

“What?” A house can't just grow legs and walk away, and who's y/n?

“HAVE YOU BEEN DREAMING?”

“No!” Dexter glares at the two before they hear footsteps, looking at the source they see the king walking towards them, alongside undyne and alphys

“The humans are nowhere to be seen, same with the queen” undyne exclaims

“WHAT?” “what?”

“HUMANS?”

“What are you all talking abo-” sans's eye(sockets) widen suddenly and his eyelights go out, he can feel his SOUL thumping heavily

“BROTHER?”

“Where… beth and the others?” sans says with still widen sockets

“WHAT?”

“paps, nathalie, beth, frisk, y/n” papyrus looks at them with a confused look, what are they going on about?

The queen wakes up, finding herself in her house that is located in the ruins

What? She walks outside, not seeing any of the humans, she walks towards the doors of the ruins before her eyes land on the calendar on the table

What?!

It's showing the day you fell down in the UNDERGROUND…

Why?

She hears knock on the big purple doors of the ruins

She goes and opens them, finding the king, captains, sans, alphys and your dog friend at the door

“What is going on here?”

“The humans are nowhere to be found”

“I-it seems that th-the date has also ch-changed to one and a half y-years a-ago”

“The date has actually changed?!”

“Yes” the king says sternly

“Today is the day y/n falls!”

Everyone starts walking towards where the humans fall from, waiting there for hours with no luck…

Until…

“Ahhhhhhh!” they hear yells coming from the hole, they look up with wide eyes and suddenly, the humans fall down, they quickly catch them before they can hit the ground and pass out

“Frisk!” The queen says, looking at the child in dexters arms

papyrus's eye(sockets) widen like his brothers did a while ago, seeing nathalie and the others making his SOUL beat heavily in his chest, bringing all of the memories back, almost like his very SOUL calling out to him

“Frisk… i can't… frisk!” Dexter says, hugging the child tightly

“mr.dexter!” the child wraps their arms around the dog monster

“They're alive…” the king murmurs

“Where's y/n?” Dexter asks, looking around

“She didn't come… it was like… she didn't remember us, she didn't know us! She didn't know you! Or anyone!” frisk answers

“Or maybe she didn't want to remember” nathalie crosses her arms

Dexter just glares at her before looking at the child

“What is happening here?” Undyne asks as the queen takes frisk and hugs them tightly

“There's one possibility” the king says “i didn't think it was real but…” everyone looks at him, waiting for the answer “a reset” alphys gasps but the others look confused “it has been told that once a very strong human with the SOUL of DETERMINATION dies, if they are DETERMINED enough, they can cause a reset. Turning the world to a certain point”

“That's what i heard! DETERMINED! I heard you say it!” Frisk says loudly

“WHAT?”

“i heard dad tell me to be DETERMINED! Then i… thought about coming back! There was a lot of light and then i woke up on the surface”

“A reset must have happened… not everyone remembers resets” the king declares

“Wait, So y/n… doesn't remember?” Dexter feels… not good about that… the joy of seeing frisk again is soon replaced by the sadness that he might not see you ever again

“today is the day she was supposed to fall” the queen lets others know (again)

“we saw her up there, but she said she was just here for work and that we should go back since this was dangerous territory” beth explains

“She didn't seem to know us at all…” frisk repeats, looking down

“then there's one less problem” undyne says with a shrug

Dexter glares her way but doesn't say anything…

“What are we supposed to do now?” Frisk asks

“What do you mean?”

“we're in the UNDERGROUND again, miss y/n isn't here to break the barrier either”

“I think we should wait” nathalie exclaims making everyone look at her curiously “if we're going to act as ambassadors, then we need time to be here, to let them know noone has died and that humans and monsters CAN live with eachother” 

“That's a good point, alphys, at the same time, you work on breaking the barrier” the king orders which makes alphys nod

They have to do everything all over again?! Ugh, the king is already so tired…

turns out most monsters don't remember anything about the reset, actually the only ones that do are the ones who were close with the humans, some of them are also knowns as boss monsters. No, all of them are, the queen, the king, undyne and alphys, the skeleton brothers and your friends

Mettaton is a boss monster and that's no secret, about the others, fel wouldn't be hired to work for the royal family if she wasn't strong enough to protect herself, mr. and mrs.dorrance are both stronger than they look, both have fought in the war between monsters and humans, and lastly dexter, honestly even others didn't know he's a boss monster

Either way, the decision has been made, they will wait for a year before coming uo to the surface

Alphys has made a plan to break the barrier, it being using monster magic, six human SOULs are still here, all they need is the power of another one, last time it seemed that undynes and papyrus's plus your punch was enough to break it, so what if they use the magic of all the mosnters this time?

They have declared this to the UNDERGROUND, telling everyone to train their magics during the year

they will not FAIL

“so, you want me to train to…manipulate SOULs?” You ask, looking at the book infront of you

“Yes, it is said in almost every book that people with your SOUL trait can achieve this ability through time and training, just think about the power you'll hold if you get this right” mr.hatchett explains

“But from what this book says i can just summon and move them, what good is that gonna be?”

“With peoples SOULs right in your hand, literally, they will not have a choice but to do as you wish, it is a strong ability to possess. Not to mention, that isn't the only thing, you will also be able to kill people by shattering their very SOUL within seconds”

“I feel like that ability is more fit for someone with the SOUL of MANIPULATION” you comment

“Yes, but your SOUL is for killing, so having a deadly ability makes sense, also some MANIPULATION bearers can make SOULS become deformed, not break but deform”

“Yeah… well… of course sir, i can't say no to orders” you say with a nod

And since then your training begun, training to control SOULs

With this, you won't even have to use blood manipulation anymore! This is good the better you get at it… the more you can feel just what a power you have achieved, but there have been side effects…

Everyone around you keeps telling you just how you're developing a superiority complex but really, you can CRUSH them under your FEET

You ARE better than them, of course you are

anyways, they have taken you to a professional and turns out this is normal because of your SOUL, it's getting stronger the more you train so it's leaving more effects on you

But it doesn't matter, you're getting strong and that's all that matters…

"A clown?” felicity guesses 

“Yes!” mettaton answers

They are currently playing pantomime and it's really fun but… they miss you

They are coming to terms with the fact that you will not remember them but it still kinda stings

Mettaton takes his seat as frisk gets up

“You know… i really miss when we used to gather in y/ns house… it felt… more friendly ” mettaton says, looking up at the ceiling

“We all do” felicity agrees, looking out the window sadly

“Hey guys, we'll meet her again, and it's not like she will be that different from what we remember, we'll meet the old y/n really soon” dexter tries to reassure

Yeah… they will see you again

The best part is the chase eitherway

You follow the target as they try to get out of their house

You summon their SOUL and grip it tightly which causes them to fall on their knee, gripping their chest tightly

you laugh at their pained expression, they are so pathetic, before crushing it in your hand. they gasp, coughing out blood for a few seconds before falling down on the floor

just another useless, weak pest off of the face of the earth

Not even worth the oxygen

Yeah, the weak have no place in this world

“You seem awfully happy lately, has anything happened?” Rachel asks, walking with you

“Please follow me” two skeleton monsters and a fish monster start walking with the others, you're about to comment when the supposed king beats you to it 

“They are the captains, and need to be there as well”

You have been forced to move in with the king and queen and the ambassadors in the newly built castle, it's more like a building though, some floors are meant to be houses and rooms but the others are business related, almost like an embassy

Basically in the lower floors, they work, in the higher ones, they live, almost like an apartment

“Uh huh” you say absentmindedly, going through your phone instead of listening. Your phone is suddenly wiped out of your hand, you frown, looking at your empty hands before your eyes move to the queen who is holding the phone disapprovingly

You keep frowning at her as she starts talking again

Your laugh slowly dies down as everyone stares at you

“Also no cursing near frisk and the bed time!” She yells after you which you just wave dismissively at

“How she acts like has been dependent to her falling down to the UNDERGROUND it seems” the king says, sounding exhausted

In the morning, you are awakened by a certain goat mom coming inside the room and pulling the curtains aside, you grumble and pull the blankets on your head

“It's time to wake up” she says kindly, her smile almost audible in her voice

You hear a groan and then the rustle of a bed

“Goodmorning mom” frisk says groggily

Ugh, it seems duty is calling

You push the blanket aside and sit up on the bed, stretching and yawning

“Morning kid” you get off the bed, following frisk and their goat mom outside the room with a scowl

“Someone looks happy” sans teases from the couch

“What the fu-” you are nudges by The queen, you just roll your eyes and continue “what are you doing here now?”

“Can't pay a visit to my girlfriend?”

“A visit, huh? From what I'm seeing you're by her side 24/7” you yawn, plopping down on the couch on your stomach

You didn't sleep that good last night, again

You haven't for a while now, you can just feel it leaving a bad Impact on your mental health

You have been becoming more irritable and unstable too, but you shouldn't act on it…

“are you ok? You seem… tired?” the king says, a cup of coffee in his hand

“Nah, I'm good” you sit straight

“YEAH, WE CAN SEE”

“you too? Go to a doctor already” you lean against the back of the couch with another yawn “im a go take a shower” you say, standing up and walking towards the bathroom

“I think… she has nightmares” frisk says after you leave

“What?” Everyone looks at them, waiting for an answer

“She thought i was asleep but she jolted awake last night, obviously from a nightmare, i woke up before her because of the noises she was making in her sleep…”

“NIGHTMARES?...”

You turn the water on and set it on warm, throw a bathbomb inside and sit inside, sitting down and relaxing

You stare at the ceiling, thinking about this past year, you've mastered what you could, moving SOULs and since then the nightmares started, every night, you see the same thing, running and running but never reaching a destination and just exhausting yourself out for no apparent reason

All the while there's a sense of dread, the dream always has a heavy feeling to it

You wish you could stop them, it's getting too annoying

Sleep deprivation isn't fun at all

It leaves you exhausted

You take the rest of your shower and get out, wrapping a towel around yourself and going out to get to your room and change

As you exit the bathroom you see EVERYONE there

Papyrus, sans, asgore, toriel, undyne, alphys, the humans

“What is this? A get together?”

“you can-” the queen gasps, covering frisks eyes “what is with that attire?!” Everyone looks at you, each having a different reaction

“What? I didn't take clothes with me, I'm going to my room now to change” you shrug

“Go change immediately” the blonde bi- nathalie says

“And what if i don't?”

“You have no right coming here infront of my boyfriend like that!”

“Your boyfriend can look away, as a matter of fact” you start walking towards the tall skeleton and sit on his lap

“What are you gonna do about it?” You smirk before two hands pick you up and put you on your feet

Nathalie looks livid

“DON'T DO THAT EVER AGAIN”

You shrug “worth the look on your girls face, but at least it seems she got a loyal one, better than nothing” you pet his head weakly a few times before starting to walk towards your room and going inside, changing in your clothes and drying your hair before walking outside again

“Hey loser, we need another player” undyne tells you, looking at her hand, she's holding uno cards

“Yeah, uno, best way to ruin friendships” you walk over and sit down “I'm in”

And the game starts

as always, it makes some people laugh and some lose their shits

“Uno” undyne says with a smirk, she's sitting next to you, yeah no

You smirk, putting down a draw four when it's finally your turn

“NO!” She says, glaring at you as you keep in your laugh “go kill yourself” she says as she draws four cards

After a few turns sans puts a draw two and smirks at you

“Jokes on you” you say, putting down a draw two

“NO!” Undyne says again, gripping her head

You and sans start laughing as papyrus covers his mouth and looks aside

“You-!” She curses under her breath as she draws four cards again

“Uno” you're down to your last card but obviously sans can't let that happen, he puts down a draw four

“How many of this fuckers do you have?!” You say and he smirks

A smirk makes it's way to your lips as you look at undyne

“Wait, don't tell me-”

Luckily you have one more card, a draw four, this was your LUCKY round

You put It down while laughing evilly

Undyne yells and pushes the table over as she walks away

You and sans just laugh as she walks away

Spending time with them isn't all that bad, it's quite fun

“Congratulations miss y/n!”

“Thanks kid” you ruffle their hair and as always they look delighted

“I'll beat your ass next time!” undyne points at you dramatically

“Yeah, of course” you say mockingly, trying to get her mad

“Watch and see!”

And she doesn't, every round either you, sans or papyrus are the winners

You spend a good chunk of the day playing since today is their off day, then you have food and then again the game is on cause undyne can't let go

In the end she leaves angrily

It was a good laugh at least

You and sans high five as she stomps away

“You know, you're not as bad as i thought” you say, looking at the skeletons

“what did you think?” He raises an eyebrow

“That you are grumpy as fuck, both of you” you look at the two

“But you're not bad, not bad at all, today was quite fun” you say before yawning

You stand up

“Tired yet?” You ask frisk and they nod, rubbing their eyes as they stand up

“GOODNIGHT…” the tall skeleton sounded a bit weird but you don't comment on it

“Night paps” you start walking to the bathroom with the child where you both brush your teeth and go to bed after that, hoping you won't have nightmares again even though deep down you know, that's not gonna happen

You're running again, running in the dark abyss

 from what? You don't know, but you're scared… you're scared!

You haven't been scared for a long while, but now, you're afraid…

Really afraid

You feel like you know what's following you but no matter how much you think, you can't figure out just what it is

You reach a dead end, just like you always do

You look back, back at what is coming towards you

You hear a chuckle

“You can never get away” that voice sounds familiar, but you still can't put your finger on it “no matter how much you run. Actually, the more you run, the closer we'll get” you see shadows coming towards you

You look at them in terror, whatever this is, whoever these are, you are afraid of it, you are badly afraid

You hear laughter before you jolt awake again, sitting up in the bed and gripping Your clothes and breathing heavily

Not again…

You look at your roomate, ok, they're still asleep. You get out of bed and walk outside the room, before going to the bathroom and splashing water on your face

Looking in the mirror, there is blood on your face. Ugh dangit, you most likely ruined the pillow cases… will they be mad? This is just the second night of you here and already?

You can't let anyone know though… you are not weak, you aren't bothered by a mere nightmare because you aren't weak, you aren't weak you aren't weak!

You get out of the bathroom after washing your face. You go back to the room, inspecting the pillow with the light of your phone, and as you suspected, there IS blood on it but just a little. Thankfully there isn't any on the pillow itself somehow

The door to the room opens and the queen steps inside, the light from the hallways illuminating the room

“Are you ok?” she walks closer and her eyes definitely glance at the pillow but her eyes returns to your face again

You tense up, not knowing what to say

“I'm so sorry, I'll clean it up my-” you are cut off with hand on your shoulder and the other cupping your cheek

“Are you ok, little one?”

…

is she… showing you kindness?... noone… noone has ever…

“Yeah… yeah I'm ok…”

“Why are you awake?”

“Just…”

“please be honest dear” you don't know why, but her kind smile convinces you to do so

“Had a nightmare” you say, looking down

She kneels infront of you, now in eye level as she caresses your cheek

“It's ok, don't worry” she pulls you in a hug slowly

You nod, not saying anything else.

After a little she lets go and tucks you in the bed and leaves after you fall asleep

But that still doesn't stop another nightmare from appearing out of nowhere, but at least, that still made you fall asleep easier

So frisk was right, you're having problems with nightmares…

She shouldn't have helped… remember, you hate her… or maybe not… this is another reset, and in this timeline, you're not acting kind, not at all… so this is not acting.

Maybe you don't hate her now… maybe she can have the life she always wanted with you…

The next morning, you wake up slowly and sit straight, finding frisks bed empty… what the hell?!

You get out of bed, adrenaline kicking in. You run out of the room and the first thing you see is frisk sitting with the others, you take a breath before walking out completely

“Look who's finally awake” nathalie, yeah, can't have a day without her, right?

“Why didn't you wake me up?” You ask the queen, looking confused “i didn't put an alarm on cause i thought-”

“I thought maybe you could use some more sleep” she says with a kind smile

That… is awfully sweet?

“Why? I'm supposed to do my job”

“You looked tired yesterday”

“... thanks” you say, more quiet

“You're welcome dear, i saved some breakfast for you, go wash your hands and face”

You nod, going in the bathroom and doing as told

Why is she so kind? 

It's not bad… not bad at all

You go outside seeing the queen has readied the breakfast for you, with a pie on the desk, a… blood pie?

You walk to the table, staring down at the pie

“I hope you like it” she says, smiling at you from the entrance of the room

“How did you know i like blood?”

“this is just a pie i used to make in the UNDERGROUND, happy to know you might like it”

“Where did you bring blood from?”

“Had some from the UNDERGROUND”

You nod, taking a seat and trying a piece of the pie

You groan from the taste

“This is amazing!” You say, eating more of the pie

“Happy you enjoyed”

“You have to teach me!” You say with a big smile

“Of course”

“We bake together a lot, you can join us!” Frisk says, coming in running

“Eh, I'll have to do it eitherway, so why not?”

“Yay!” The child celebrates before running out of the kitchen

“such an energetic kid” you say, watching them run

“They're happy you're here…”

“Seriously? Why?”

“They seem to like you a lot” she says, leaning against a counter “do you want to talk about what happened last night?” She says calmly

“I… it was nothing important”

“If it's bothering you, then it is”

“Just a stupid nightmare, nothing more”

“And the blood?”

Should you tell her?

“Just a little thing that happens sometimes, nothing too important but it's normal, I've seen a doctor for it, it's totally normal”

She just stares at you, you wish you could read her mind

She knows they are tears, of course she remembers, but for some reason you aren't telling her about it this time…

The breakfast is amazingly delicious at least

For the day, you are a body guard since they had to leave the house and took frisk with them so you had to follow along

You go in casual wear and just stand near the child, nothing happens though, nothing at all

In the end, everything becomes a routine, you go to sleep sooner to be able to wake up at the same time as frisk, which equals with you and frisk sleeping at the same time, then you wake up together, have breakfast with everyone else, some days undyne, alphys and the skeleton brothers visit (only on their off days), you go out or stay home for the whole day

The child is really energetic and outgoing though, so you are out on most days, it isn't all that bad

You get paid to have fun with a child that you don't hate. So it's all good, Even though you kinda miss your own house but whatever

“Wait a little frisk, i need to concentrate” you stare at the board closely

You make your move

Sans does his turn as well

“Hah!” You say, standing up and making the last move which results in you winning the game

“Way to go kid, never knew you were this good in games” sans says, nodding As he looks at the board

“Of course, i am the best!” You really are!

He shakes his head with a smile

“Miss y/n!” Frisk says loudly

“What?” You turn towards them

“Can we go out? I'm supposed to see my friends!”

“Friends?” You ask with a raised eyebrow

“Yes!”

“YOU MEAN THOSE THREE?” 

who are they talking about?

“Yes, exactly” they answer papyrus before looking at you “I'm sure you'll love them”

“have you asked for the queens permission?”

“Yes”

“then let's go” you put a hand on your hip

“Yes!”

“Keep a close eye on them please” the queen walks in the room with sunscreen in her hand(paw?)

She kneels infront of the child and puts the sunscreen on their face and hands

“where are we supposed to go eitherway?”

“To a coffeeshop, i will send you the address”

“You have my number?” You ask with a smirk making the queen pause you just chuckle and bring out your phone “Just give me your number and I'll send a text”

She nods, telling you her number and you quickly save it as ‘the goat mom’

You send her a dot

“Be back before 8”

“Couldn't we walk?”

“No, i aint walking all the distance” you look around, finally seeing the coffeeshop the address says and parking infront of it

The child gets off quickly and runs inside

You follow, as you enter you see a dog monster hugging frisk

“Mr.dexter! Look at who's here!” they say, pointing at you

The dog monsters smile falls slightly as he sees you but he masks it quickly

“Hello” he nods, putting the child down

“Hello”

“I've heard alot about you, frisk always says a lot. You're their bodyguard right?” He extends a hand

“Sure am” you say, taking his hand with a grin “the name's y/n”

“Dexter”

“Hello darling” a robot says, approaching you and standing beside dexter, he has four arms and four eyes, two of them are covered with his hair “I'm mettaton”

“Oh yeah, I've seen you before on tv” you say, shaking hands with him as well

“Hello” a calm voice says which turns out to belong to a bunny monster “I'm felicity” she extends a hand

“Y/n, again” you say, taking her hand as well

“We’ve heard a lot about you” mettaton Says “good to put a face to the name”

“Well thank you” you say, your grin turning to a smirk

Yeah, who wouldn't want to meet you?

“Let's take a seat!” The child points at a table

“Hello frisk” an old red panda monster says, standing beside another one

“Hello mr.kenzo! Mrs.charlotte!” they nod at the two “miss y/n, they are the owners of here!”

“Nice to meet you” you nod at them

Everyone takes their seats finally

“So, how have you been since last time?” Dexter asks, unbeknownst to you, the ‘last time’ is the day the barrier broke

“Nothing much, just working on some new designs and you've alredy seen the show, haven't you?”

“and i have found a new job” felicity joins in

They're just gonna talk like normal? Like you're not there? Shouldn't they be wary? You're a stranger, but they are acting like you've been friends for years

“I haven't had anything different, just the fact that miss y/n now lives with us”

 Everyone looks at you

This people are FUN

It's almsot like they KNOW just what to say to make you laugh, almost as if they know your humor

It's nice to be around them and you're enjoying yourself quite alot and the things they serve in this coffeeshop are the BEST

But for some reason they keep saying it's on the house and don't let you pay so you just plan to leave a big tip on the table

you spend the time together, talking, eating, drinking and joking around which you loved

The light hearted banter, it almost feels like you… belong…

Like you can stay with these people, like you don't have to worry too much

you decide to be open with them, even if they know about you, there's noway they can use the knowledge against you

“Hey, yall wanna go see this new movie that's out?” dexter asks, looking at the newspaper

“The romance one?” felicity 

“The horror one?” and you say at the same time

“I'm down” you agree

“I don't know…” the bunny monsters ears drop slightly

“What? You afraid?”

“I've heard it has some… scenes in it”

“I'm sure it'll be fine” mettaton waves a dismissive hand

“Is it ok for kids?”

“Ooh, forgot about that” you admit

You can't go with the child but you can't go without them either

“Why not leave the kid with someone? Then we'll watch a cartoon together to make it up”

“That… is such a good idea”

“Only if you really watch the cartoon with me”

“why not? I love cartoons” you ruffle their hair

“You do?”

“Yeah, it's fun to watch”

“Then it's settled, the theater doesn't need reserved tickets but we better hurry to get the tickets before they run out” mettaton says as you all stand up

You do leave that tip

“Frisk, who's house the nearest to here?”

The child thinks for a little “mr.papyrus and sans'” good, those two are strong enough to care for a child, you need a rest from your job after all

“Then that's where we'll go, you know the address?” They nod “yall go to the movies, I'll catch up after dropping the kid”

Everyone nods as you wave goodbye to the owners

The three go one way while you go another

The child instructs the way and you drive them to the house before getting off the car and walking to the porch

The door opens and you see papyrus there, looking at you confused

“Hey, ima go watch a movie, it's a horror so the kid can't come with, do you think you can take care of them while I'm gone? I'll pick them up when the movie is over” you explain the situation.

The skeleton looks between you two for a little until you hear a noise

“You're gonna leave your job like that?” Nathalie says, poking her head out

“At least i have a job” you say before looking back at the skeleton “So can you?”

“YEAH? BUT-”

“nice!” You look at the child in question “be good ok? I'll pick you up soon”

“Ok!” They walk inside

“WHEN DO YOU THINK YOU'LL BE BACK?”

“when the movie ends, I'm not sure how long it is, but count on around 2 hours”

He nods

“Thanks, you're a life saver” you point finger guns at him before getting in your car quickly and driving away

You speed through the streets, you hope you're not too late…

You make it there and go inside, looking around you find the three waiting there with popcorns in their hand right infront of the room where the movie will be displayed in

“I'm not too late am i?” You say, running towards them

“No, you're actually right on time”

“The movie is just about to start”

“Good”

You all go in and take your seats, they've gotten you tickets and snacks which you're thankful for

The movie is good, the gory scenes are extremely realistic and you love them

Mettaton watches with a straight face, dexter grimaces at times but felicity looks traumatized

By The end of the movie you and mettaton talk about how good the movie was made and also some flaws and shortcomings about it

“You good?” Dexter asks felicity who just nods, still looking scared

“Those jumpscares got you so well” you say with a smirk, mettaton nods with a chuckle

“I'm not used to them, ok?”

“Whatever you say"

“I gotta go pick frisk up”

“We can go to mine then, to watch the cartoon we promised”

“That has to wait for later, it's almost 7:30, the queen wants frisk home by 8”

“Then tell them we said goodbye”

You nod

“See yall” you say with a wave as you walk towards your car

“Definitely” dexter says with a smile

You drive to the skeleton houshold and knock on the door

The door opens, revealing sans with marker drawings on his face, he seems like he has just been woken up

You hold back a laugh as he looks at you groggily

“I'm here to pick frisk up”

“Oh, right” he turns around “frisk!” and calls the child

They walk towards the door before seeing you, they jump out and hug you

“Thanks for taking care of them”

“No problem”

“But don't keep doing this” nathalie adds from inside

You just ignore her

You yawn, holding frisks hand

“Bye” you start heading for your car, pulling the child with you

“Bye sans! Bye papyrus!”

“Bye kid” sans goes in, closing the door

You get in the car and drive home, get ready for bed and finally go to sleep, you actually don't have a probelm with frisks bed time, you are tired enough to fall asleep then

"Why are we here again?” You ask, standing to the side as you watch the royal guards train combat

“Cause the punk wanted to watch us train today”

“Oh yeah” annoyance is literally coming off of you in waves

“What? You don't like training?” She smirks at you as papyrus talks with a guard

You lift your sleeve as you walk towards her

“Seriously? That corny ass move?” you scratch your hand right above the vein and pull the blood out, making a scythe as you get in a fighting position with a smirk

“Eh, I'm just better with it than with other weapons” you attack undyne and she dodges before attacking you, you dodge and then this becomes a rhythm, you attack, she dodges, she attacks, you dodge

You two go back and forth and for some reason you can't land ONE hit on her! This is bulshit!

You grit your teeth, attacking her faster which in response to that she does the same

No matter how hard you try you can't- no, no there's no way you'll lose to some random fish! You're not weak, you're not weak, you are strong!

As you're about to make her blood stop pumping she talks

“ill admit, you're quite strong” she smirks, Seemingly enjoying this ‘friendly’ fight

For everyone, she didn't lie to you in the first place but you all still pushed her away” papyrus is going to say something but the child beats him to it “i won't really get in an argument about that! But, this is our chance, to pull her back, she's slightly different but we can be just like i always wished! Like a family!”

“THINGS AREN'T THAT EASY, KID”

“even if it's not, she doesn't remember what happened, it's time to make everything up”

“IT FEELS WRONG…” he looks at you and undyne, hitting dummies as hard as you possibly can

“I DON'T KNOW” he says, taking a seat as he keeps watching you

“I'm sure everything will be just fine, she seemed to get along with mr.dexter and the others just like before, even with her new personality. I'm sure she'll come to like you too!” frisk takes a seat next to him, kicking their legs as they don't reach the ground now

“SOUL, smoke, got it” you close your eyes, imagining your SOUL in your chest with red smoke inside

Undyne nudges papyrus and he looks uncertain but she nudges him again

He brings his hand up and makes some magic appear in his hand, before it takes the shape of a bone and dims down, falling to his hand

“You can even make your magic solid without using to much magic, you can break the connection between the magic and your SOUL” she does the same but makes a small spear instead, handing it to you

You inspect them

“HEY, I HAVE TO TALK WITH UNDYNE FOR A SEC, JUST… DO WHAT YOU WANT” papyrus hands the bone to you and pulls undyne away

“I…” undyne looks away “i thought so as well… but now” she looks at you “she isn't acting, is she? She doesn't pretend to like us, she just obviously tolerates us, so, maybe in this timeline… we can actually be friends, i…” admitting it is hard but “i kinda miss her as a friend”

Papyrus doesn't say anything, he'll be lying if he said he doesn't as well

“BUT RECREATING MEMORIES IS TOO FAR, JUST… MAKE NEW ONES”

Undyne nods before the two walk up to you again

“Way to go” you hear sans's voice snd your eyes glances at him for a split second before going back to his brother

He seems to be standing near frisk as he watches you two

After a little, you find yourself standing with his bone right to your neck

You both are breathing heavily

“She did something again?” Nathalies voice says as she walks in

“Friendly combat” undyne is the one to answer

“Oh” she sounds disappointed

“That was amazing miss y/n!” frisk walks up to you and smiles

You don't say anything and just stare at them, yeah, that wasn't bad, but it wasn't enough, no where near

“Hey, don't be a sore loser, it happens, you don't win all the time” sans comments, sitting down on the bench

“mom said it's frisks bedtime!” Beth pops her head in

Seems like it's time to go

You pick your shirt up and walk out, going to the elevator and go to the living quarters, frisk goes to bed where the queen was waiting for them while you take a shower

In the end, you fall asleep pretty quickly, like you always do

“Guess she's not used to losing to someone” undyne just shrugs

“What was with her shirt though? Why did she take it off?” Nathalie crosses her arms, staring at papyrus with narrowed eyes

“SHE WAS TRAINING, MOST LIKELY DIDN'T WANT THE SHIRT TO GET IN THE WAY OR PERHAPS SHE DIDN'T WANT TO PERSPIRE MORE THAN NECESSARY”

“i think she wanted to try something else” nathalie isn't convinced, if you fell for papyrus once, you'll do it twice, you are trying to get with him, obviously

“i don't think so” undyne says dismissively before pulling papyrus away for more training

"Miss y/n” frisk calls as they walk inside the livingroom where you're currently sitting and playing with your phone “we're going shopping!”

“We?”

“Me, mom, miss beth and miss nathalie”

“Aka, I'll have to come with you”

They nod with a smile

You roll your eyes and stand up

“Ok, let's go” you follow the child to where the others are at, aka the kitchen

The queen is looking around the cupboards, beth is taking note and nathalie is on her phone, wearing a dress

“You going to a party?” You raise an eyebrow

She frowns at you “it's none of your business”

You'd break her neck but you'll let go this one time

“Tomatos” the queen says, inspecting the fridge and beth writes it down

“Just put it on your phone” you suggest

“I can?”

“Yeah? In the notes app or something”

“She has difficulty working with a phone” beth says, calm as always

“Average mom problem” you shrug before taking a seat on a counter

“Mom doesn't like it when you do that” nathalie says, a hint of a smirk on her face

“with all due respect, i couldn't care less, i like sitting on the counter, so i will”

“Let her be, she's new, remember?” The queen says with a smile

Her smirk falls, you just chuckle

“That's about it, everyone ready to go?”

You stand up, like everyone else and walk to the door with them

You go with the queens car, you sit in the backseat with beth and frisk while nathalie sits in the passengers

In the way you don't say anything but the others chat about different things until you reach the place and get off, this place is a mall… one of those which has different stores selling different products

Yall go inside and to the grocery store, it's quite the big place with different brands

And the shopping begins!

Beth reads the list as you all move from an aisle to another one

Right now the queen is inspecting two different brands of the same product

“This one is more expensive…” she says and seems to be about to put it in the shopping cart

“Actually, that may be more expensive but this” you point at the other one “tastes better, also is easier to cook with”

“Really?”

“Yep, have tried both of these before, this is better”

“The better is obviously the one which is more expensive” nathalie says, frowning at you

“No, this one is more expensive because the brand is more well known for other products and a shit ton of sponsors, but this one has better quality”

“Then we'll go with this one” the queen smiles at you as she puts your suggestion in the cart

You notice something else, nathalie buys a shit ton of things that aren't even needed

the queen also offers to buy you things but you decline

As you're walking your eyes land on a whole aisle of chocolate, your favorite also present in there

BUT

Is that… that's the chocolate you loved when you were younger! You've been searching everywhere for it with no luck!

You gasp walking over to the aisle and looking at the different chocolates, frisk runs after you. Now you are both staring at the chocolates with big smiles on your faces

Nathalie rolls her eyes as the queen walks to you two

“Is everything ok?” the queen asks with a tilt of her head

“i need a whole other cart” You say, picking up the chocolates bars

“You like chocolate?” She asks as frisk picks a few chocolates for themself

“I love it” you say, your hands full of chocolate

“Just put them in this cart” she chuckles

You nod, putting your chocolates in the cart and picking new ones and adding it to the others

You can keep them for whenever you wanted

“You're gonna eat all of it?” Beth asks, looking surprised

“I've been searching for this for a while now, nowhere seemed to have them”

You say excitedly

after a good while you finally leave the chocolate aisle and go through the rest of the list, getting everything that is needed and leaving the grocery store

It was hard but you finally were able to pay for things yourself, the queen wanted to do it instead but in the end you were victorious. But nathalie on the other hand, her tbings were are payed for by the queen which for some reason angered you, she is taking advantage of them and it for some reason gets on your nerves

As you're walking out you see nathalie eyeing a dress

A tight, revealing dress that you're pretty sure papyrus would never like to see

“Mom, can we please get that! Please!”

“I… yeah, why not dear” 

She agreed? Damn

So to the store you go, while she tries on the dress you look around

Something catching your eye

A dress, but not any dress, it has a brand tag and it read ‘mettaton’

He wasn't joking when he said he's a designer, the dress is gorgeous

You touch it slightly, it's extremely soft

“Such a good taste you have!” An employee says, walking towards you with a smile

“No i ju-”

“I'm sure it'll look lovely on you!” She picks the dress up and hands it to you, leading you towards the dressing room

“Wha-” you're taken aback and kinda stunned as you stare at her with a baffled expression

“Call me when you're done, I'll help you close the zipper” She closes the dressing rooms door

You just stare at the door for a few seconds before inspecting the dress

Eh, buying it actually wouldn't be bad, it looks amazing, even though you don't like how the employee acted but still

You shrug and try the dress on and open the door

“I knew it would be amazing on you!” She says as you turn around and she closes the zipper

“I don't like your way of forcing customers” you say with a serious expression “but I'll buy it this once, IF, it actually looks good of course”

“Sorry, the boss is extremely mad at me… at all of us, he said the sales have dropped… i really apologize” hm…

You just nod, walking out and going infront of the mirror where the others are also standing

“Wow miss y/n, you look so pretty!” frisk says excitedly which makes the others also look

“You wanted a dress too?” Beth asks

“No, but the employee forced It on me” you point at the employee with your thumb “but, since it's designed by mettaton, maybe buying it wouldn't be too bad”

Frisk seems even more excited

“It's made by mr.mettaton?!”

“Yep, how does it look?”

“You look amazing!” 

“Thanks” you chuckle, inspecting the dress in the mirror, It does look good on you so why not buy it?

Nathalie comes out of the dressing room her smile dropping as she sees you

“Copycat” she grumbles with narrowed eyes as she walks towards yall

You don't say anything

She walks infront of the mirror and poses

In the end you both get the dresses and come out of the shop

Yall go to the car and put everything in the trunk and get inside

On the way they drop nathalie off infront of a club cause she is going to see her friends, so that's why she was wearing a dress

Eitherway, you go home and you and beth help the queen put the grocery away as frisk tells you stories of the UNDERGROUND

they talk about the time they've spent with dexter, felicity and mettaton. They talk about a ball they had and other things that has happened to them down there

“A ball, huh?” You say, putting the milk in the fridge

“Yes! It was so much fun!”

“I'm sure it was” you chuckle

“We'll be having a celebration in a while too, well, not a big one just between a close circle” the queen says, putting noodles in a cupboard “it'll be in a small while actually, in around three weeks”

“Uh huh” Why's she telling you that?

“It'll be in this very building”

“Oh, you want me to guard it?”

“Wha- n-”

“Ok, i mean i have to guard frisk eitherway, i can do that too” you say absentmindedly

The queen and beth look at eachother

“Is there any dress code or something?”

“uh… wear a dress?” She answers with uncertainty, but you don't comment on it

“Ok” you nod, not looking at her and focusing on the task at hand

A celebration, huh?

“So, who'll be there?”

“As i said the close circle, the skeleton brothers, undyne and alphys, and everyone who lives here” you hum as a sign you heard her

After you're done with putting the grocery away, you just rest in the livingroom, still listening to the enthusiastic child talking.

After a while nathalie comes home, drunk as fuck so you take frisks hand and pull them to the room, you don't need any bad influences on the young one

after that you two talk until falling asleep

"Wake up dear, it's the day” the queen pets frisk's head.

Upon hearing that they sit straight immediately, smiling widely as they jump out of the bed and run to yours

“Miss y/n! Miss y/n!” They shake your body, making you snort and jump awake, you turn around seeing the excitable child jumping up and down

“What?” You grumble

“It's the day! It's the day!” They run out of the room

“Huh?” You stare at them go

“Today is the day we're- oh, she forgot to tell you?!”

You look at her with a raised eyebrow

“We're going to a beach today for a few days”

You stare at her with a poker face

She looks at you, glancing around every once in a while

“A beach?”

“Yes”

“When?”

“Today”

“for how long?”

“3 days”

“Uh huh…” you keep staring at her “and you didn't tell me?!” You raise your voice now sitting up

You're going to the beach?! You don't have a swimming suit, you haven't packed shit and you're going to travel?!

“We'll be on our way in the evening… you can pack until then” she tries, looking apologetic

You grip your nasal ridge, getting up as you sigh

You nod and walk out of the room, you go to the bathroom and do your morning routine before walking out.

you see frisk jumping around happily, telling the king how fun it will be on the beach and what they want to do there

“It would be nice if yall have at least gave me a heads up” you say with a disapproving look

“Nathalie said she'll tell you” he says with a raised eyebrow

So that's what this is about, she didn't tell you on purpose

“Well she didn't”

“Sorry. I forgot” she smirks, leaning against the counter

“Can you keep an eye on frisk for today? So that I'll go shopping and everything”

“i can come with you and help!”

“i can't leave you unsupervised” you Can't let them be alone as you focus on shopping

The door opens after a knock and papyrus walks in

“EVERYTHING IS READY YOUR MAJESTY”

Even this bitch is ready and because of nathalie you-

Hm… you have an idea to get her back…

“Ok, frisk, you can come along” 

“Yay!”

“But we need to take someone with us to keep an eye on you when i can't, but it has to be someone strong” you look around the room, as if seriously contemplating the choices

“Papyrus, can you?”

“WHAT?”

“Happy that you can” you say, walking to your room and changing in something appropriate for outside and walk out

You find frisk happily holding papyrus's hand as they keep ranting about what they're going to do on the beach

“WHAT WAS THAT YOU SAID?” He asks, looking confused

“We're going shopping” you take his hand and start pulling him out

“Wait what? With MY boyfriend?!” nathalie runs out of the kitchen

“No, with the captain of the royal guard” you smirk before pulling him completely out and shutting the door

“WAIT WHAT?” He seems extremely confused

You sigh “we're going shopping, frisk is coming along, you'll keep an eye on them as i do my shopping” that is NOT the reason though, nathalie messed with you by not telling you about this trio, you'll miss her by taking her boyfriend out

“First we have to eat something though”

“exactly”

“WHAT IF I SAY NO?”

“you don't have a choice, you want something to happen to the kid?!” You say, making sure frisk hears

“WHA- NO I JUST-”

“so you don't care about them?! You're cruel papyrus”

The kid looks up at him with tear in their eyes

You and frisk high five secretly and keep walking towards the elevator 

You get on and make your way outside of the building

“First, we need food, then we'll go shopping” frisk agrees and you all go to a restaurant that's nearby, eat breakfast while papyrus just watches and leave

You kept telling him to get something but he said he has recently had breakfast.

After the breakfast you go shopping

First, you go to buy sunscreen and sunhat. Trying different hats on as frisk gives you advice on which one to buy, then you go to buy a towel, you have one at home but you prefer to have a separate one for the beach.

You buy flip flops, sunglasses, beach blankets and that type of things. Papyrus carries them as you go to different shops, now last things on the list, a swimsuit

You make your way to the shop, papyrus's eye(socket)s widening as he sees what store this is

“I THINK I BETTER STAY OUT?”

“Nah, no need”

He walks in hesitantly

You look around the place, seeing if anything catches your eyes, and after a little bit of search, something does

A black and white swimsuit that will leave your back exposed but looks awfully pretty

“What do you think of this one?” You ask, picking it up and showing it to your two shopping companions

“I'm sure it would look amazing on you!”

“DON'T YOU THINK IT'S A LITTLE TOO EXPOSED?”

“it's a swimming suit, of course it's exposed” you say with a deadpan tone “plus I'm sure your girlfriend will wear things way worse?”

“POINT TAKEN”

“Such a good taste you have!” An employee walks towards you with a fake customer service smile “please remember, while trying on swimsuits you must have undergarments on” she reminds you

“Of course”

“WAIT A SECOND, TRYING ON?”

“Don't worry, there are no men here right now, noone will see your girlfriend, plus, if she's going to wear it on the beach, people will see it eitherway”

“NO THAT'S NOT THE POINT JUST-” the employee cuts him off

“Oh, the shy type?” She smirks

You just laugh and start walking to the changing room “keep an eye on frisk”

As you're walking away you hear the employee talk

“so how did this work?” She points at frisk as you close the door

You try the swimsuit on and observe it in the mirror

If you show it to papyrus you can get more on nathalie's nerves

You smile evilly as you open the door and walk out

“What do you think?”

“You look amazing” the employee

“Awesome” and frisk compliment with smiles on their faces

Papyrus looks as he hears the door open, nice it's finally time to go, this employee was getting on his nerves, She kept asking weird questions and wouldn't believe that you're not his girlfriend

His eye(socket)s widen as he sees you are not in your clothes but in the swimsuit

“What do you think?”

He composes himself quickly, bringing a poker face expression on his face instead

He hears the others compliment you and he must agree, you do look amazing in that but he has a girlfriend! He shouldn't be looking so he looks away, not answering your question

His mind kinda wanders though…

“that doesn't sound like a good compliment, does it?” You look at frisk and the employee and they shake their heads “should i try other ones?”

“IT'S GOOD OK?! YOU LOOK GOOD IN IT!”

you're gonna have a hell of a time telling this to nathalie

“Ok then, i think i look good in black and white don't you think?” You say, chuckling as you go back inside the changing room

After changing into your own clothes you walk out, pay and you're off to go back home.

You go to your car, take your seats and while driving back you intentionally go to a highway you knew is empty at this hour, you blast music in the car as you and frisk dramatically sing along while papyrus just sits in the backseat and looks at you two like you're crazy, and he also seems a little bit surprised. You also go a little above the legal speed but who cares? There's almost noone in the way

You reach home sooner than you've reached the shop, during the whole way papyrus keeps telling you to be careful but you don't really listen, you're confident in your own driving skills

In the end, After reaching the building and going inside, you see almost everyone running around to make sure everything is ready, you look at the clock and it's around 4 so it kind of makes sense

“You're back” sans says, waving. He's sitting on the couch lazily “took long enough”

“There was a lot to buy, honestly i haven't been to the beach in a WHILE”

“I can tell” he says, looking at all the plastic bags in you and papyrus's hands

“Thanks papyrus, i really appreciate the help” you forgot to thank him so you'll do it now

“DON'T THINK ABOUT IT, EVEN THOUGH YOU FORCED ME TO COME” he says that last bit with a more quiet tone

Nathalie comes out of her room, going through her phone, now is the time

“No seriously, you were a lot of help, especially with the swimsuit”

“Swimsuit?” Nathalie asks, now paying attention

“Yep, while buying me a swimsuit, he helped me choose, said i look really good in the one we bought, yall wanna see?”

“Helped you, huh? Such a nice guy he is, right?” Her tone sounds strained, heheh, got her, she's obviously mad as hell

“definitely” you nod, trying to hide a smirk

“Miss y/n, let's go pack your stuff” The child takes your hand

“Of course, let's go" you two go to your room and start packing the stuff you'll need, you'll be there for a few days so obviously you need some casual clothes but due to it being summer you'll need thin clothes, it'll be really hot in there

You pack everything and it ends up being a BIG suitcase, maybe you should take your own car

The door to your room opens and the queen pops her head inside

“It's time for lunch, dear”

You and frisk nod, starting to walk outside, you join everyone at the dining table and get started on the food, frisk starts telling everyone what has happened today and what you've all been doing, the king and queen listen with a smile, beth and sans listen as well but don't show much reaction, papyrus and nathalie seem to be talking to eachother but they're really quiet so you can't really hear what they're saying

After lunch is over, you and beth help the queen clean everything and then it's finally time to go, everyone makes it downstairs and you see a car pulling up, undyne and alphys

Undyne gets down

“Hey! yall ready?”

“yes!” Frisk runs and hugs her, she laughs and picks them up, throwing them in the air before catching them again

Everyone puts their luggages in their cars

“You can just come with papyrus” the queen says, pointing at the car

The queen, king and frisk are coming in one car

Alphys and undyne in one and sans, papyrus, beth and nathalie in one other

“how about you come half of the way with them and the other half with me? we’ll be having a small rest in the middle of the way, you can change cars there”

“Ok, who are you going with first?”

Everyone gets in to their cars and the trip starts, you've already asked the destination so you can go there alone but for now you follow after the king and queen like everyone else

“I bet it's going to be so boring in her car” nathalie comments, looking out the window towards your car

“I mean, she's alone so probably” beth comments

Sans yawns, ready to sleep as he gets cozy in the backseat where beth is also sitting

“BROTHER, WE LITERALLY JUST STARTED” papyrus raises an amused bonebrow

“I'm tired to the bone paps, life is hard sometimes”

Papyrus looks back at him for a split second with a disapproving expression before looking back at the road

In undynes car, her and alphys are listening to some animes opening and talking, sharing snacks and genuinely having a good time

In the last car, frisk is looking outside at the road and the surroundings while the queen drives, her and the king will change places after the small rest, so that noone will be tired

You drive the car, eating some snacks and vibing to the music, it's fun, the surroundings are nice and the weather is also cool which makes it even better

The beach is a few hours away, it's quite the long drive but it'll be worth it

After a while you finally reach the place you've agreed on for a rest and get off of the cars

It's a forest beside the road, it has a lot of shadows due to the old and tall trees it holds within, so it's an suitable place for rest

Yall, have a small picnic there, talking and laying on the blanket the queen has brought as everyone chats or just enjoys The nature

When it's finally time to get on the road again, frisk runs in your car after hugging their ‘mom’ and ‘dad’

“Ready?” You ask with a smirk, frisk nods excitedly

“As I'll ever be!”

Everyone drives away when you finally have closed your seatbelts

You turn the car on, turning the music all the way on and start to go faster than you should

But frisk seems to love it, they dance around and sing with the upbeat songs that are playing and smiling widely, you open the sunroof and they pop their head out happily

The queen is driving in silence When she hears loud music approaching, she looks at the back with a cocked up eyebrow before her eyes widen, she sees frisks head out of the sunroof of the car as you seem to be also moving with the song playing, so that's why the child wanted to come with you…

How is it that they always have more fun with you than with the others?

“Where are y/n and frisk?” beth asks, looking around for your car

“probably behind, i feel bad for frisk with how boring the ride must be” nathalie giggles

“isn't that her?” Sans points at the back, where your car is fast approaching

When it finally reaches them, you decrease your speed as you reach them and drive beside them, everyone stares at you as you pop your head out of the window

“Yall have any tissues? We're out!” You yell, hoping they will hear

“What?” Sans mumbles

You turn the music down slightly

“Tissues, yall have any?”

“Why would you even want that?” beth asks

“we had ketchup flavored snacks”

Frisk shows their hand with a smile, revealing they're red

“I DO HAVE TISSUES BUT HOW ARE WE GONNA GIVE IT TO HER?” Papyrus raises the pack of tissues

“Like this” sans takes it with his magic and sends It your way

“Thanks!” You yell, taking it, frisk sits back down, cleaning their hands with the tissues

You speed up again, passing the car again

Again, you know the destination so you can go alone

the whole way it's just fun, moving and vibing to the music, eating snacks and chatting up

You, to noones surprise, are the first one to reach the beach

You wait there with frisk for about 20 minutes for the others to arrive, at the meantime you eat ice cream together and just stare at the now setting sun

You two sit on a few rocks that were on the beach and stare at the sunset

Until the others finally arrive

The first to arrive are the king and queen. Turns out they have rented a beachhouse, you asked them why they didn't just buy one, they can afford it

The answer was “why waste money? When we'll only use it once or twice a year? We can spend the money on better things like our people” which, respect! You are definitely understanding why every monster likes the two rulers so much, they are definitely dutiful and know what's more important

Eitherway, you four go inside and choose rooms for yourselves, waiting for the others

They arrive shortly after, nathalie was obviously mad you got to choose the biggest room, but first, you live with frisk so it's for two people and second, obviously you choose the biggest one when you're here first

it appears you'll stay here for 4 nights and three days, eitherway, until everyone is settled in, it's already night and frisks bedtime, since you two have had a lot of snacks on the way, you can't really eat dinner, and you're tired enough but frisk wasn't, so you fall asleep on the couch as the child talks with others

Noone says anything and let's you sleep (most of them didn't even notice you have fallen asleep) until they hear groaning

“What's that?” The queen asks and everyone calms down

“WHAT?”

“there's a noise…”

They hear the groan again and their eyes glance at you, seeing your face contorted as you move slightly but still stay seated

“See?” Frisk says, looking worried

“Maybe something is bothering her, continuous nightmares isn't something that happens out of nowhere like that” sans comments

“Should we wake her up?” Undyne asks

“I DON'T KNOW” noone is sure

Undyne stands up and walks closer, inspecting you as she leans closer

You suddenly jolt awake, sitting up as your head bumps into undynes

She leans back immediately, holding her head as your eyes try to adjust to this new found light

You look around slowly before standing up and starting to walk towards your room

“Are you ok?” The queen asks, it takes you a while to interpret what she's saying but you finally do and stop walking, turning around and looking at them groggily when you do

“Yeah…” you yawn “frisk, let's go to bed” you say, looking tired

Frisk isn't that sleepy but after seeing how you look like they nod and stand up, following after you as you head for the room

“A-are you o-ok?” Alphys asks as undyne takes a seat next to her

“Yeah, but i didn't think the punks head was that firm” she rubs her head a bit more before letting go

“Why are you so worried?” Nathalie whispers at papyrus

“WHAT?” He asks, looking at her with a confused look

“You KNOW what I'm talking about” she narrows her eyes “see? Im your girlfriend! Me! And you go and do all that!” She says, looking away

“NO, NATHALIE I JUST-”

“i don't want to hear it”

Papyrus just sighs, leaning against the back of the couch, ever since you've told her about him complimenting you with the swimsuit she hasn't let go of it, she has been arguing with him ever since and he's TIRED

The next morning everyone gets ready to go to the beach, you put your swimsuit on, puts sunscreen on and all in all get ready, you also help frisk gather their things, when the two of you are ready, you high five and go downstairs, you're kinda excited to be honest

“Is everyone ready?” The queen asks

everyone says yes and you finally get out of the beach house and go to the beach itself and the sea of course

“First one to get there wins!” frisk says, starting to run, you are supposed to be close to them to be a good bodyguard, so why not engage in this little race?

You start running quickly, catching up to the child and even running past them, ok you got a little too excited

They start running faster, the two of you now running alongside eachother, you two jump in the water head-first upon reaching it, diving inside the breathtaking waves that you're too busy to notice the beauty of

You two bring your head out of the water

“I won!” You two say in unison, your proud/smug smiles disappear as you look at eachother before frowning

You two look at the queen as she and the king are spreading the beach blanket on the floor

“Who won?!” You shout at the same time again

“I'm not sure dear, you two were quite close”

“I think it was y/n though” beth puts a basket down

“Hah!”

“It's just a kid” nathalie remarks with crossed arms, looking annoyed

you have half a mind to bitch slap her but you don't

“I'll get you next time!” The child says with a determined expression

“Of course” you smile at them

You wipe some water from your face and look around, the water is a little chill but it doesn't bother you, not at all

You look back at the crowd and the two rulers are making the blankets, umbrellas and everything ready as beth and papyrus help them, sans is laying on a random-

Are they… the two skeleton brothers are only In swim trunks…

 these two… are all bones… 

yeah yeah, obviously they are but still seeing them like that is still somewhat weird, also, you can see their SOULS! Isn't that… you don't know… An intimate thing, maybe? And doesn't that make them vulnerable? But you can see some… red, kind of thing -it's most likely magic- around it, so maybe they're protecting them

But it still catches you off guard seeing them like that

Ok ok, don't think about it

You shake your head, where were you? Right, sans is laying on a random spot, nathalie is on her phone, taking selfies, alphys and undyne are-

Ok again, what the hell, undyne is a FISH, how didn't you think of that?! She is talking with alphys before she quickly runs towards you two

“No! no! no! no!” You and frisk shake your hands but it's too late, she jumps in the water right infront of you and it splashes a big amount of water on you two

“Hah!” She stands up, bringing her head and a part of her body out of the water “What? You losers don't like water?” She smirks

“can you breath in the water?”

“Yep” she answers you

Cool

She takes you twos hands, pulling you away to the deeper sides

The queen quickly walks closer to the edge of the water and throws a swimming tube for frisk. It seems she doesn't want to get wet, you quickly catch it and hand it to the child, they thank you and put it around them

You can swim to an extend, you know you won't drown

You reach a part in the sea where the water is up to your neck, not for undyne though, she's taller than that

She dives forward and goes under the water, you and frisk look at eachother before you put your swimming goggles on and hold your breath before getting your head under the water, seeing undyne swimming around quickly.

Ok, she's QUICK, which is understandable for a FISH

She literally has webbed fingers, like a duck's feet

You bring your head out of the water, getting a breath

You see frisk swimming around with the help of the tube and you decide to do the same and swim a little, have some fun, while also keeping an eye on frisk

You dive in, swimming around, it's quite fun

On the beach, the others sit on the blanket, watching you three swim

“Ethusiastic as always, are they not?” The queen asks with a smile

“Yeah, wasn't expecting y/n to be like that though” sans says, lazily lying there

“Can we not bring her in a conversation ONCE?” Nathalie is tired of this, she was free from you for a full YEAR, and it was FUN! But then you come back, acting bodyguard, and stealing a lot of attention from her

“What is the matter dear?” The queen looks concerned

Uh oh, it seems she acted a little too out of character

“I just… it was a whole other timeline… but i can't forgive her for doing that to you! Not to mention… she threatened ME too” she looks aside, acting sad

“Threaten?”

“Yeah… i didn't want to tell you but-”

“Th-that was a whole different t-time line Th-though, s-so i th-think there's n-no need to worry”

Nathalie tries to hide her anger towards alphys

“I hope that never happens again” the queen says, smiling at her

She's FUMING, she could get them mad at y/n again but the damn stuttering mess ruined it!

But she has a face to keep…

Ugh

After more swimming your eyes land on an ice cream stand on the shore

Frisk follows your eyes

“Ice cream! let's go get some”

“Agreed”

You two start walking towards the shore, on the way you see sans floating on a swimming tube

he seems to be asleep

You just stare at him, not able to help a side of you…

You can't fight the urge… so you pour water on his face, he jolts awake, looking around with wide eye(socket)s

You laugh as his eyes land on you, he gives you an unimpressed expression before making your feet stumble with his magic, you yelp, falling in the water

You pop your head out with a gasp, hearing him laugh

“I'll get you later” you say with narrowed eyes as you walk away

He just chuckles

It WAS your fault though

You go to the shore and out of the water to get the icecream, after getting them, you two sit with the king and queen and eat them, beth seems to just be sitting there too

“What? You scared of the water?”

“No… i just prefer not to get wet”

“Why?”

“Maybe another day…” she looks almost… shy… is she embarrassed to go in the water?

You and undyne look at eachother before evil smirks appear on your lips, you two pick her up and she stars struggling

“Miss y/n?”

“U-undyne?”

You two don't say anything and start walking towards the water

“Put me down!”

The brunette is wearing a one piece swimsuit so it's not like you'll ruin her clothes

You two reach the water and start swinging her back and forth

“No no wait!”

“1” you smirk

“No!”

“2” undyne counts after you

“Nooooo!”

“3!” you two say in unison as you throw the girl in the water

She yelps as she flies over to the water, falling in it and making water splash around. After a little she brings her head out and starts gasping for air

She looks at you two with a frown bit it disappears as you pour water on her and walk beside her

 Undyne does the same

“Let's go further!” She points at afar

“I'm down” 

You two take her hand and pull her away

“I'm happy beth finally is doing something” the queen says with a soft smile

“It's not on her own will though” the king says, looking at beth trying to struggle and wiggle out of your grasps, but her struggling isn't as high-effort as before

“still… she's quite a shy girl… she was too embarrassed to go inside the water” the goat mom pets frisks head as they eat a snack

You reach sans again

You go to push him in the water, but he doesn't allow it, it seems he was faking sleep, he brings a watergun out and shoots water at you

You cover your face and step back

“Fuck you”

“Don't be so mad now kid, you started it” he smirks

“Whatever”

Beth walks over to him and the two sit in the swimming tube together and talk as you and undyne start swimming around together

By the time you're done swimming, the day is over so you all go back home

Second day at the beach and again, you raced to the sea, this time it was a match, only cause frisk had a headstart though

Eitherway, you two swim and play around for a while as again, the two rulers stay seated in the shore, enjoying the view of their new children having fun.

Sans and beth are together, papyrus and nathalie too, it seems papyrus is talking and nathalie looks at him disapprovingly. Undyne and alphys are in the water together this time, alphys looks scared but undyne is helping her with that

You and frisk are having fun together, swimming around when they challenge you to making sand castles

And so you accept, you two start making sand castles together, near the blanket, the two goat monsters watching you

You two look extremely concentrated on the task at hand, trying to build a better sand castle than the other

Toriel smiles softly as she watches while the king looks kinda sad

They could have this in the other timeline too but… they didn't.

In the end, they couldn't have a good ending like that, not only you weren't in contact but also frisk…

They don't even want to think of it, they will make sure it won't happen again! They know the date it happened, they will make SURE

the sand castles you two have made are… something

They're disastrous honestly, none of you has enough experience and skill so they both look really out of shape

“eh, i guess that's a match” you shrug, observing the two ‘sand castle's

“Yeah” the child agrees

You can hear chuckling, you recognize the voice, obviously, it's the two goat monsters

“Damn, you suck” sans says, putting a hand on your shoulder and leaning against it, you stiffen up a little but don't push him away

“Like you're any better”

“Oh trust me, i am”

“Prove it” no way he can make a sand castle, like at all “without magic though”

“Eh, I'm a bit tired but why not” he kneels down and gets started, you and frisk eat snacks as he works on the castle, in the end he stands up which makes you look at him and…

“You… actually CAN make sand castles” you state, staring unbelievably

He laughs “what? You though i was lying?”

“Yes” you state simply

“WHO'S DEFORMED CREATION IS THIS?” papyrus walks closer, looking at the two sand castles you and frisk have made

“In my defense, i haven't made sand castles ever since i was a child” you shrug 

“And i AM a child”

He glances between you two and and the sand castles

undynes laugh fills the air suddenly, you turn your head around and look behind you, seeing her standing there as she laughs at your creations

“Har har har” you look back at sans's castle

“YOU SHOULD REALLY WORK ON YOUR SKILLS” he sounds like he's trying not to laugh

“Shut up”

Nathalie, without other's noticing, glares up at papyrus as she walks closer, oh damn, now she's even madder for some reason

You just move on from that subject after more laughing

Frisk has brought two kites which they ask you to fly them with them and you agree

You ask undyne and papyrus to hold them and run with you so that the kites will fly

Undyne agrees, papyrus doesn't, so the queen offers to help instead

Undyne holds your kite and the queen holds frisks

You four start running, after a little the kites start going up so the two let go, you and frisk keeps running, letting the thread out slowly as they go higher and higher until they're flying so you two come to a stop, you hold the kites up for quite a while, talking as you play with the kites, then you decide to have a race on who can get them higher, so you start trying and actually putting effort.

In the end, you win, FINALLY

You bring the kites down slowly and pack them away again, giving them to the king and queen to hold them for you

Then it's time for some food so everyone takes a seat on the blanket as the queen gives everyone sandwiches

“You don't have anything else to do? I thought the special force is more strict than that” nathalie helpfully remarks

“No, I'm on bodyguard duty”

“Looks like vacation to me” she mutters

“What? Jealous?”

“Why would i be jealous of you?”

“Cause i am NOT a freeloader, oh wait, you actually enjoy that don't you?”

“Calm down, both of you” the queen frowns

You just smirk

“Can't take the truth?”

“Don't you want to say something?” nathalie nudges papyrus with her elbow with a frown

“WHAT AM I SUPPOSES TO SAY?” He looks unsure

“I don't know, maybe defend your GIRLFRIEND for once!”

“WHA-”

“Calm down!”

what was papyrus supposed to do now? It was NOT his fault… why did nathalie get so mad at him?

“What are you staring at?!” You just raise an eyebrow at her

“That's enough” the king says, calmly but with an undertone

A little warning, not like you're doing anything eitherway

You just shrug and continue eating the sandwich

“It's really good though” you look at the queen, she nods

After food everyone goes back to doing their own stuff again, you glance at the questionable couple every once in a while, now that you're paying attention, nathalie looks MAD. And papyrus seems worn down…

You can't help but wonder

You jusy keep swimming and having fun and don't even notice when the sun starts to set

The rulers want to go back to the beach house but maybe something like a… a bonfire might be fun? Yeah you're tired but you can stay awake for a little more

“a bonfire?”

“Yes, it will be fun”

“But frisks bedti-”

“We're on VACATION, just one night won't hurt”

The two look at eachother

“If the others agree, why not?”

“We can vote or something”

“About what?” Everyone gathers around, ready to leave

“Let's have a bonfire, Stay here a little longer”

“Not a bad idea honestly” sans agrees

“that would be nice” beth also agrees

“Let's just go home” nathalie rolls her eyes

“I'm down!” Undyne agrees

“If u-undynes staying th-then i-im ok too” alphys agrees

“Yay! Bonfire!” Frisk also agrees

It only remains papyrus, you look at him and he shrugs

“Ok, more people want to stay” there we go

“Then we'll stay”

“Let's go gather sticks for the fire!” frisk takes your hand

“Yeah!” undyne wraps an arm around your shoulder

“There's forest surrounding here, so it must be easy” you shrug and you three take your phones to use as flashlights and get going

“I'll go make sure they don't do anything dumb” sans says, following after yall

“Ugh, can't we just go home?! I'm tired”

“JUST TAKE A SEAT DEA-”

“again?! You taking her side?!”

“WHAT?! HOW IS THAT-”

“I'm done with this” she groans, walking away, leaving a bewildered papyrus behind

You and your group keep searching around the forest for stick and leaves, when you're satisfied That you have enough you go back to the group and put the leaves down before putting some branches on top

“Uhm… what are we gonna light this up with?” You ask, only now realizing the problem

“Like in movies of course! You take a branch and move it on the leaves until they're on flames!”

“Magic?” The king walks closer before making a fireball in his hand and setting the branches on fire

“You have fire magic?!”

“Yeah?” Why didn't you know?! You were NOT informed!

“Nice. EVERYONE!” Everyone looks at you “the BONEfire is ready” 

Everyone looks at you, before sans starts laughing and the queen giggles

“PUNS?!”

You just snicker and undyne drops some BIG and THICK branches on the floor next to the fire

“Why?”

“Maybe someone wants to sit down?”

“Like this?”

“Like what?”

“I don't know if you have noticed, But wood is a pretty uncomfortable item, now, we, people in swimsuits, basically have our ass out, sitting on this will hurt like a BITCH” you say matter-of-factly

“Oh, that makes sense” she nods

“How about blankets then?” the queen suggests, putting a blanket on one of the wooden ‘chair’s

“just how many do you have?”

“I've brought a few extra ones”

“Uh huh” you sit on one of them and it's tolerable, it's not bad actually

At the end, everyone takes a seat 

“Anyone has marshmallows by Any chance?” You ask, looking around

“There's a store nearby, we can get some there”

“I'll do it” beth stands up and walks away

“I'll bring tree branches!” undyne says

“Why?”

“To roast the marshmallows with”

“You watch a lot of movies don't you?”

“Why?”

“Sticks? That's not sanitary at all”

“Ugggghhh!” She groans loudly

“But again, we have nothing to roast the marshmallows with”

“Magic” sans picks some branches and puts them in the fire with his magic to emphasize

You and frisk look at eachother, you can't do that…

“I'll make some for you two” the queen smiles

Beth comes back and everyone gets started with roasting the treats

Papyrus does so for nathalie and sans does so for beth while the queen does the same for you and frisk

“Thanks” you two thank her taking them and eating it

“Horror story time!” Undyne says dramatically

You look at her, munching on the roasted marshmallow, waiting for her story

“So one day…” she starts with her story, it is actually a scary one, not too much, but scary enough

“That sounds so unrealistic” frisk says

“Yeah duh” undyne takes a seat “this ain't real”

“Who's next?” Noone volunteers

“You!” undyne points at papyrus

He rolls his eye(light)s

He thinks a little before he starts to tell his story which is admittedly scarier than undynes

Frisk hugs the queens robe as they listen

“Miss y/ns trun”

“Why me?” You sigh, thinking a bit before telling a random story you've heard before

After the stories, yall start playing truth or dare

“Truth or dare?” The king asks you

“Truth”

“What is one of the best memories of your childhood”

You think a little… there's not many…

You were living normally, with favoritism but normally, up until you were 9 when your mom suddenly told you you need to go with a random guy that was standing there, turned out they have basically sold you to scientists

You can't think of a good memory…

“What? Just tell a random memory or something, no need to think so hard about it” nathalie smirks

Just to get her at least a little awkward

“You still haven't answered the truth” nathalie says, not looking all that awkward, ugh, dangit

“It couldn't have been that bad” it seems they're not gonna let it go

The king nods spins the bottle that is on the magic-made table in the middle and on the fire, which undyne has made

Yall play some more games and finally pack up to go home

It is the last day of vacation, tomorrow you'll get going home

Last night and today you've noticed something.

Nathalie Is mad

She's really mad at papyrus for some reason and you feel like it's your fault, yeah you hate her and are happy she's not having a good time but papyrus… he's not that bad

So while everyone is getting ready to go to the beach again, you find him alone

You hunt him down until he's in one of the many rooms alone and then you approach him

“Hey paps” he turns around

“HELLO, DO YOU NEED SOMETHING?”

“everything ok?”

“i mean, between you and nathalie, i can tell things are rocky”

He doesn't say anything and stays silent, that's answer enough

he seems to debate telling you for a while and you give him space to think, until he finally breaks the silence that has settled

You walk towards her

“You have one of the most loyal boyfriends I've ever seen and if it makes you more comfortable you need to know i have nothing for him, no romantic feelings or anything” she's sensitive about you? Why? Have you ever given her a reason?

She looks between you two

“Miss y/n! Have you seen my hat?” Frisks voice comes from another room

“Again, i forced him to do that, So don't sweat it” you say, passing by her and going to helo frisk

Nathalie looks at papyrus before putting a hand on her hip

“Now you go ask for her help?”

“I DIDN'T”

“Then why-?!” nathalie is cut off on her angry rant, papyrus is genuinely done with this stupid situation

You two sit there silently, watching as the sun sets, the sky turning orange, creating a beautiful sight, the sea calm as birds fly around, the sound of waves granding extreme calm to people close by, to anyone that is lucky enough to be close to the absolute masterpiece of art which is the landscape.

You see his hands on the rock as he leans against them and keeps staring at the sky

You put your own hand on his, also staring at the scenery

The sky is beautiful and the sea is just reflecting the very same picture, turning everything into a breathtaking harmony of colors, the sound of pure joy can be heard from people who are here, enjoying the beach with family members or friends

The sun slowly moves down, going out of sight as stars start shining through the almost black sky

You two don't say anything more and just sit there, your hands together and your feet swinging and dangling from the quite big rock you're siting on

“I hope everything works out” you say with a smile as you grip his hand tighter before letting go, you jump off the rock and smile at him one last time before walking away, maybe he needs some time alone, and maybe nathalie will see you and everything will get worse so you better leave

At night, since it's the last, yall decide to stay awake again

Undyne starts telling you about the UNDERGROUND and everyone seems to listen as well

“Then me and papyrus took the threat down”

Sans's smirk falls, he wasn't expecting you to actually like them

“Dad has a small greenhouse!” Frisk says excitedly

“Seriously?” You ask, taken aback as you look at king asgore. He doesn't say anything and seems a little uncertain 

“yes! I'm sure you'll love it, there are roses and this golden flowers, actually flowey rests there too”

“Flowey?”

“A talking flower!”

“A failed experiment” the king says, eyeing alphys that holds her head down

“Oh, i see, can i, maybe have a visit someday?”

The king looks taken aback, too surprised honestly “yeah, why not?” He answer after a little

“Thanks” you nod

“No problem”

“Any other tale someone wants to tell?” You look around the room

“Wanna hear how the humans fell?” The queen asks, after noone has a tale to tell

“The first to fall was beth”

Frisk grips your clothes but you don't pay them much mind

“I actually lived close by… me and asgore weren't on good terms”

“Extremely” the king says, holding queen toriels hand, almost like he is remembering that and is afraid it would happen again

“But in the middle she left with a bad excuse” The king chuckles

“And we made up, she convinced us to do so” ok, now you get it the two look good together so that ‘someone’ did a good job

You're gathering your stuff since this is the day you'll be leaving

Papyrus and nathalie are still fighting so You decide to lend a helping hand

“Hey papyrus” you approach him as he puts his luggage in the trunk of his car

He turns his head around

“You wanna come with us?”

“me and frisk, you seem a bit down… so why not come with us? It would be a bit awkward in there eitherway”

“I BELIEVE THAT WOULD MAKE THINGS WORSE”

“nathalie is putting her luggages in the kings car” you point at her with your thumb “you wanna be alone with sans and beth as they ask you about the situation?”

“BUT IF I'M IN THE SAME CAR NATHALIE WILL GET EVEN-”

“that's toxic as fuck” she's too annoying “just get your ass in there”

“NO”

“Nathalie!” You call her, she looks over and frowns

“What?!”

“I'm bringing your boyfriend”

“WHAT?!” “what?”

“Frisk!” The child runs over “papyrus will come with us”

“yay!”

“I'M-!” you cut papyrus off

“Nathalie, since he doesn't want you to be uncomfortable with him there due to your fight, the decision has been made for him to come with another car, you can come with beth and sans, you three are close right?”

“We're- well-”

“He can't go with undyne, she's with her girlfriend, he can't go with the king and queen for obvious reasons, so it leaves me, which frisk would love someone to come with us”

“can sans also come?” They ask

“Someone called?”

“Wanna come with us big guy?”

“Why?”

“Your brother is, maybe give your girlfriends a breath for once?”

Nathalie seems obviously against it still

“You two are by their side 24/7, I'm sure they need some time to chat, nathalie and beth are good friends after all”

“I dont know” sans looks at his brother who shakes his head no then to you who are mouthing yes

You mouth, ‘I'll treat you to mustard’ and that seems to pique his interest

“I'm down” papyrus looks shocked as you smirk

“Get in the car boys, and kids” frisk happily runs and sits in the passengers

“I- NATHALIE I THINK-”

“No, i don't want to hear it” she goes and sits in the passengers of papyrus's car

He sighs before looking at you with a disapproving look

“Sorry, but maybe some time away and resting will be good for you”

He still doesn't look convinced

“Why the long face bro?” Sans smirks, pushing his brother with his elbow

“YOU TRAITOR”

“sorry bro” he laughs, taking a seat in the back

Papyrus follows with another sigh and sits there with his arms crossed and a frown on his face

You shake your head and go in the car, wear the seatbelts and the group finally gets started on the way back. The moment you turn the car on the music booms in the car which makes the two jump but frisk looks excited

You pull out of the parking lot and get on the road as well

Sans seems to not have a problem as he just sits there, his hands in his pocket and the ever present smirk on his face

But papyrus is still crossing his arms and is frowning

You and frisk start singing with the song

“You see the bag in there?”

“Yeah”

“Can you open it”

sans picks it up and unzips it, a vast collection of different snacks getting revealed. He raises an eyebrow

“Thanks,” you let your hand go back and pick one randomly, frisk turns around and picks one as well

“You two be comfortable as well, see me as a sister or something”

Papyrus and sans look at eachother as you and frisk scream at the top of your lungs with the song and dance while sitting down, moving your heads and hands

Sans starts moving his foot and head with the beat as well, your energy affecting him

Papyrus's frown disappears after a while as well and he looks out of the window as you pass through different areas

“store!” frisk points out and you immediately stop the car beside it

“WHY DID YOU STOP?”

“ice cream, more snacks” you open the seatbelt “anyone want anything?” You look back at the two

Sans is about to say something but you stop him “mustard”

His smirk widens

You show finger guns and get off the car, you'll get something for papyrus too

“What does papyrus usually like?” You ask the smile child as you go through the entrance of the store

“Sweet things”

Hm…

Ice cream and cookies may work

You get the snacks you want and go to the register, as you're there you hear someone talking

“Did you see that? She's here with monsters” ugh, monster haters

“Yeah, monsterfucker” they laugh after that

You glare at them but frisk takes your hand with a smile

You sigh and just pay for the items, then leave

You go to the car and take a seat, passing everyone what you've got for them

Papyrus raises a bonebrow as you hand him the goods

You don't say anything and start the car again

“That's why i wanted to come with miss y/n, it's always so fun with her” frisk says, eating their ice cream

You just chuckle and ruffle their hair

You and frisk start singing again, this time with a sad song that has come on, trying your best to sound sad and dramatic

Papyrus watches you dance around and sing, having fun in the car, this car ride is more fun that any car ride he has ever been to, he has to admit that much

But he's kinda worried about what will happen when they're home

“Is everything ok bro?” sans says this quietly, to make sure you and frisk won't hear

“YEAH… JUST… WORRIED ABOUT WHEN WE GET HOME, NATHALIE IS GOING TO BE MAD…”

“that's not ok bro, I'll be there with you though” he puts a hand on his shoulder

“THANK YOU” papyrus finally smiles at his brother, the song comes to an end and suddenly a really upbeat song starts playing again

You and frisk seem to LOSE it as you start singing loudly and with big smiles as you eat your snacks

Papyrus just shakes his head but a small smile appears on his face as he watches you

Yeah, this is fun

The rest of the way papyrus seems to open up, actually tapping his feet with the beat of the songs and eating snacks

But it's not enough, not at all

After resting in the middle of the way just like you did while going to the beach, you ask sans to take the role of driving and he agrees

You sit in the back seat now

As the songs play you sing along and try to get papyrus to do the same, he doesn't 

While the songs play you wrap your arm around his shoulder and sing along, moving left and right and pulling/pushing him along, after a little he seems to open up or maybe give up and he seems to start having fun as well, singing along sometimes and talking with you

In the end, it was nice

You take them home (or better say sans does) and they get off, say goodbye and leave (or go in their house, better say) you and frisk have fun on the way home again, and upon reaching the destination you two pass out

Today is the day of that small celebration the queen has told you about

You just wear the dress you bought that same day you heard about this, the one which is designed by mettaton

It's black and red, really beautiful if you say so myself

You're currently just laying on your bed sideways, your legs on the ground as you go through your phone

Having peace until the door opens and frisk walks in

“it's time to go miss y/n!”

“Ok” you say, sighing as you sit up before standing up

You go out of the room with the small child and to the specific floor the celebration is happening in

You go in, finding the queen and the king, nathalie and beth, papyrus and sans each talking with their respective spouse

It leaves only the fish and that lizard

Frisk runs towards the king and queen as you walk to a chair and sit down, going on your phone

Papyrus glances at you for a second, memories of the date you two had on the first ball passing right infront of his eyeslights

He quickly glances away, doesn't want any unnecessary memories right now

The queen and the king look at you as you just sit there, your face uninterested, like you don't care about anything happening… this celebration is… today is the day you fell down… or in this timeline, the day all the humans fell…

Oh, the queen still remembers that day, finding a new human after so long, and her actually being so nice… until she realized you weren't all that nice

a few weeks from now will be the time you left the ruins, also the day of that disastrous ball…

It broke king asgore's heart that day to talk to you like that… but it needed to be done…

After a while, undyne and alphys also join

Frisk runs towards you

“Miss y/n! Let's take a picture!”

The child takes your hand, making you stand up before they start pulling you towards where everyone is gathered

“I'd rather stay out if this” you say, making the kid come to a stop

“Why?” They ask, sounding a bit sad

“Stop being an asshole” sans says, picking you up with his magic

“Hey! Put me down!”

He does, but infront of the king and queen

For a second, it looked too familiar for sans… picking you up with his magic for pictures, the reactions he's got are completely different though…

The queen puts a hand on your shoulder, making you stand between her and the king with frisk

Everyone else stands around as well

“Smile!” frisk says happily

You roll your eyes, before looking at the camera with an annoyed expression

Before your expression relaxes and you just look at the camera with a straight face

You sigh, smiling slightly for the next pictures

everyone changes positions a few times

You find yourself randomly being in undynes hold, her arm around your neck as she rubs her knuckles on your head

Or you find yourself, with frisk hugging you tightly for the picture

Or even the king and queens hand both on your shoulders

But you guess they want the pictures to not look awkward

After a little everyone goes to the camera to check out the pictures and you just go back to the chair

You feel so much like a foreigner, like you don't belong here, you don't know what this feeling is all of the sudden but it just feels… wrong

You just sit back down and bring your phone out again

You are lifted off the ground by magic again

You frown at sans who just shrugs and puts you down where everyone was standing while taking the pictures

Frisk runs over to you and stands beside you

You pick them up, smiling slightly for the picture. The child seems DELIGHTED

A few pictures later and you're back at looking at everyone having fun from the side

Being a guard for this type of events sucks

On a normal day, you don't feel so left out at least

You lay on the couch, bored out of your mind, frisk is the same, laying on the couch and staring blankly at the ceiling

“What's up with you two? You look like your ice creams have fallen on the ground” the king asks, chuckling to himself

“We have nothing to do” frisk answers

"want to come to the greenhouse with me?”

You sit up quickly

“the greenhouse?”

“Yes, I'm going there right now, you can join me if you want”

You stand up, you wanted to see the greenhouse eitherway and you have nothing to do, this is a good distraction

“I'm coming”

“Then I'll join in” frisk says, standing beside you

“Ok then” the king starts walking and you follow

He goes to the elevator and hits the highest button

The elevators doors open and everyone steps out, you see a pretty big greenhouse on the roof

You see the two walking towards it so you follow

Looking around, there are different flowers there, ones you've seen before, ones you haven't

You look around, the place smells amazing with all the flowers in it, it's all flowers though

What catches your eyes is a big portion that just has golden flowers

“Why so many?” You point towards them

“They're amazing for tea”

You nod

“it's really her?” an unknown voice asks

You frown, looking around but not seeing anyone

“Yes!”

You look at frisk are they talking to a damn flower? Wait- the flower has eyes! And a mouth!

They were serious about the talking flower?!

The flower looks at you with a small smile

“Hello”

You stare at him, frowning as you try to process this

his smile falls slightly, he now looks slightly worried

“How?” But again, you live with monsters, walking talking skeletons and goats and other animals so a flower doesn't sound that weird

“Failed experiment” the king says simply

You kneel infront of the flower and observe him

he leans away slightly

“H-hello, I'm flowey” he extend a shaky leave

“Hey… the name's y/n” you hold his leave gently and shake it

He seems relieved at how gente you are with him

This flower is golden too, with slightly torn petals

You're still slightly curious, you raise a hand which makes him flinch, you softly touch his petals

“Miss y/n, this is flowey! He's really kind, flowey, you don't have to worry either! Miss y/n is really kind too”

“I hope…” the flower mumbles

“Can i pick you up?”

“What?”

“Can i pick you-” he looks frightened “with the pot of course”

“I… why?”

“Just a little curious”

He looks at frisk then at you before nodding. You pick the pot up carefully

“Wouldn't you want to go outside? Being stuck here alone doesn't sound fun at all” you ask, holding him up

“I can't really… walk” poor thing, he's always stuck here then?

“We can take him out!” Frisk suggest happily

“Maybe”

you start walking around the greenhouse, floweys pot still in your hands

He looks a bit scared but you don't comment on it

The greenhouse is as big as a house, filled with flowers but you also find… vegetables there? Tomatos and cucumbers, carrots, onions and some others, they're a bit… out of sight? For lack of a better term, that's why you didn't notice them before

“You grow vegetables?”

“I thought maybe it would be nice to grow some”

“I've always wanted to grow strawberries…” you confess “I've never had the time though”

“Maybe you could plant some, I'll take care of them if you want, and you can visit them”

That doesn't sound bad

“I can help too” flowey says slowly

“Actually, that should be fun”

The king nods

“I'll buy seeds and the next time you visit you can-” you cut him off

“Actually, I've seen this video on the internet , they have seeds on them right? If we take those we can plant strawberries!” You wanna try those

“we do have strawberries downstairs” 

“I'll go get them” frisk says, walking out, you can't let them go alone, you're supposed to be by their side all the time

You sigh “I'll go make sure they don't get into any trouble” the king nods as you make your way outside the greenhouse, flowey in hand 

He looks around, breathing in fresh air and he looks slightly happy

“Why do you never ask to come outside?”

He looks down and doesn't say anything

You get in the elevator and go downstairs again, you go in the living area

Then a voice stops you

“Come on! Why did you bring that dirt in here?” nathalie says which makes flowey flinch and move closer to you

Even this little flower doesn't like her but why is he afraid?

“the dirt is in the pot, it won't get anywhere” you roll your eyes, putting flowey on the counter

“There's a reason we keep the weed in the greenhouse, cause it's dirty! Now you put it on the counter?!” flowey flinches again, looking down

“It can't protect itself so we have to take it but this is too far!” She stands up moving towards the flower that looks frightened

You frown, picking him up quickly

“If you take one step closer, I'll shatter your SOUL under my shoe” you threaten, keeping the pot close

You don't know why you're even doing this, but well, you are

flowey looks extremely surprised but clinges to you after a few seconds

Nathalie frowns and doesn't stop so you make her SOUL come out of her body and stand infront of her

That makes her freeze

“Get out of the kitchen, and if you ever touch flowey I'll KILL you” you walk to the fridge and take a strawberry out, frisk looks between you two with a worried gaze

Nathalie grits her teeth but leaves nonetheless, she has to

“Why did you do that?” The flower asks looking up at you

“Honestly, i don't even know” you sigh, handing the strawberry to frisk

But if nathalie hates flowey that much, why not use him to make her mad? That should be fun

You all go to the greenhouse again, finding the king watering some plants

“Took you a while” he comments upon noticing you

“faced some difficulties” you say simply, he raises an eyebrow but doesn't say anything further

He hands you a pot and gloves

You finally put flowey down before putting the gloves on and putting the empty pot beside his

“First fill it with soil” the king puts a package by your side

You pour the soil inside

“Now, place the seeds inside”

You take the strawberry, using a sharp tool to cut them out, you put the seeds inside and cover them with soil

The king hands you a watering can and you water the pot a bit

“Now, we wait” he picks it up, putting it amongst other plants

You nod

“Does flowey need to get taken care of too?”

“well, he can eat food but also can photosynthesis”

The king nods “only magic induced foods but yes”

“Frisk, what do you think he come live with us?” You ask, a small smirk on your face

Nathalie will LOSE her mind, while you can finally care for a flower like you've always wanted to, and this flower TALKS

everyone looks at you with a shocked expression until frisk happily agrees

“Why would you want to do that? Plus he has said himself that he wants to stay here” the king tilts his head

He has said that himself?

You look at him and he looks aside

“It will be fun, keeping a talking flower” and pissing nathalie off

“If you're sure then…”

you nod

You spend some more time in the greenhouse, looking around and smelling flowers

“You really like gardening that much?” The king asks

“Yeah, why?”

“Just… i would never think YOU would like it… you've never showed interest… never” what is it with this peoole and assuming things about you?

You shrug “i don't go around telling people what i like and what i don't”

“Yeah … you don't” he looks aside

After a little, you find yourself alone with flowey since frisk and the king are watering some vegetables

“So, why did you agree on staying here”

He looks aside, contemplating if he should tell you or not

After a little he starts talking

“Nathalie said… she would stomp on me if i didn't…” he says slowly, looking down “but you could make her back down!” he says, excitedly as he looks up before looking infront of him with a soft expression “i never thought I'd see someone who would go against her… especially for me… thank you”

“No problem” so it was her huh?

Why is it always her?

“You'll… if you take me down she may… i don't want to make her mad…” he shakes slightly

“Don't worry, i won't let her do anything” you pet his head

“Really?”

You nod, he looks happy and hugs your hand

“Everyone ready to go?” The king asks, standing beside the door with frisk

You stand up, picking flowey up and go to join them

You all go downstairs, you yawn, it's already night time…

You go inside the living quarters and see the queen and the ambassadors there

everyone looks at you as you enter, they look surprised as they see flowey

“Why is flowey in your hands?” the queen points at him

“I'm gonna keep him”

“What?!” nathalie glares at you AND him

“what? I've always wanted to take care of a flower, this is a good opportunity” you shrug, sitting down on the couch

“But i thought he preferred the greenhouse”

“I don't care, I'll take him eitherway” you smirk

The queen gets an expression you can't quite put a name on

“And i would appreciate it if yall didn't touch him”

“Even me?” Frisk points at themself

“No, not you”

“Why not?” The queen asks

“I'm taking care of him, remember? I don't want someone to hurt him”

She shakes her head

“It's time for sleep” she tells frisk as they yawn

You three get up and go to your room, you put flowey on the bedside table and get in bed

The queen sings a lullaby for frisk and they fall asleep before she kisses their forehead and leaves

“Night” you say, closing your eyes

“Goodnight…” the flower answers and you fall asleep

"Ima hit grillbys” sans says, standing up and putting his hands in his pockets

“NOT AGAIN!”

“Can I come along please?” frisk asks

“Yeah why not?”

“NOT YOU TURNING THE CHILD INTO A SMALLER VERSION OF YOURSELF” papyrus rolls his eyelights

“Mom! Can i go?!” Frisk asks the queen excitedly

“Of course, but take y/n with you as well, i don't want to risk anything”

“Ok!”

You're jolted awake by the door bursting open and the child you're supposed to be protecting running in and calling you excitedly (which makes the flower on your nightstand also jump awake)

“Miss y/n! Miss y/n!”

You bring your head up and look at them with a scowl, eyes barely open

“Let's go to grilbys!” They don't seem to notice your annoyance though

“Where the fuck-”

“No cursing infront of the kid, remember?” You're cut off by sans, leaning against the doorway with a grin

You look at him with narrowed eyes before turning your face around and trying to go back to sleep

“Miss y/n!” The child whines, shaking you a bit

You swear you can kill someone right now

“Ugh! Fine!” You sit up, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes before standing up and stretching

“Give me five minutes” you groan, walking to the closet

“Ok!” Frisk Walks out, taking sans hand and taking him with them before the two close the door

Flowey covers his eyes with his leaves as you change

You go out of the room and to the bathroom, washing your hands before going back to your room, picking the flower up and walking out again, going to the livingroom where the two are waiting for you

“You're supposed to be working you know, not sleep” nathalie says with a smirk

“You either shut up right now, or I'll do unspeakable things to you in your sleep later, so that noone could put your corpse back together”

“Please don't speak like that infront of the child” queen toriel says, frowning slightly

“So, where are we going again?”

“Grillbys” sans says, standing up from the couch, frisk does the same excitedly

“I still have no idea where we're going”

“To a restaurant” sans starts walking out, frisk takes your hand and follows him, pulling you along

Once out of the door sans raises two hands, putting one on your and one on frisks shoulder

“Close your eyes”

You raise an eyebrow

“do it miss y/n!”

Ugh, whatever

You close your eyes, after a few seconds sans takes his hand off of your shoulder so you open your eyes

you find yourself outside what looks like a restaurant and bar at the same time

Oh yeah… sans did mention he could teleport so you don't question him and just follow as frisk and sans walk towards the bar counter, acting like they have done this a thousand times before

The two take seats at the bar so you follow but as you do a shock goes through you so you rise to your feet and kick the stool away in a reflex

It glows red before it can hit the floor

“Hey calm down” sans says, a few droplets of sweat on his forehead as his hand glows a faint red

The stool flies back over to you and is placed where it was before

You see a shock buzzer on top of it

“watch where you sit down. Sometimes weirdoes put shock buzzers on the stools” sans says, but his tone seems is a bit… strained now

You eye him a bit before picking the buzzer up and putting it infront of him and sitting down

“Sorry, got shocked” you joke as you put flowey on the counter

Frisk is sitting between you and sans. The two start talking as you just look around, that is until a monster walks towards you

It's a fire elemental, his purple flames moving around slightly

“This is grillbys, the owner of the bar” sans introduces, making you nod “grillbs, this is y/n” grillbys nods as well in greeting “Well, what do you two want?”

Surely not a drink

“Fries!” Frisk answers

“I'll go with fries too then”

Grillby nods before walking away

“So, how has everything been?” Sans looks at you while asking the question making you realize it's pointed at you

“Like always, what would change?” you shrug

Sans drums his fingers against the bar counter, staring at you a bit before looking away with a small frown that disappears as soon as it comes on. He seems to go deep in thought for a while, it passes with silence between you two as frisk and flowey talk

Until grillby comes back with your orders, putting the fries infront of you and frisk and a bottle of mustard infront of sans…

Weird

You are about to pour ketchup on your fries when sans takes it from you, he fastens the lid before handing it back to you

You take it and do what you want before handing the container to frisk

Frisk and sans chat a bit as you eat and feed flowey before sans addresses you again

“You ever heard of what a timeline is?” He asks suddenly

flowey and frisk suddenly look at him with semi-wide eyes

“Yeah, different possibilities and situations, blah blah blah”

“How do you feel about it? like maybe in a timeline, me and you are close friends or something”

“Well, IF it exists, it's a whole different timeline”

“And if we are enemies?”

“Again, another timeline” you say, holding a fry out for flowey and he eats it

“...say someone-”

“I feel like this isn't the time for a conversation like this” flowey says, looking a bit afraid of cutting sans off

Sans looks at him a bit

“Yeah… probably” he looks away, drinking the mustard grillby has brought

You still wonder how is he drinking that? Just chug it down? Without anything?

Anyways…

You go back to eating

Sans goes back to normal and just jokes around

after the food, frisk and sans talk with other monsters, so they know eachother here? Must've spend a lot of time here in the UNDERGROUND 

You just sit there, watching over the child

It seems they're having fun so it's all good, until a monster is about to hit frisk jokingly

Even if it's a joke, that's a monster, and this is a human child

You summon a magic attack under the monster's throat, making their laughter stop. They look up at you, frisk does the same

“Miss y/n, we're just joking!”

“Still, if you take even a small scratch, I'll have to answer the queen” you say, finally letting go of your attack

“You want a fight?!” The monster asks angrily, standing up and walking over to you, so you stand up, ready to fight if necessary 

“Calm down, both of you” you hear sans say as he steps between you two “she's the kids bodyguard, she's just a little sensitive” he tells the monster

They narrow their eyes at you and walk away, sans then looks at you

“You could take a better approach” 

“I saw a possible danger and tried to stop it, i did nothing wrong”

“You have to learn better social etiquettes…” he sighs, rubbing his eyes

You don't have to do shit

“Can we go home now?” You look at frisk, they look a bit sad but nod

You pick flowey up

“grillbys is quite close to our house, wanna drop by?”

“What would i do there?” You raise an eyebrow

“We'll find something” he shrugs

Why does he want you to visit in the first place?

“Yes! Yes! Let's go!” Frisk says excitedly

You sigh

“Fine”

“Let's go then” sans puts his hands in his pockets and starts walking towards the door “grillbs, put that on my tab” he winks at the fire elemental

You'll remember to pay him later

You and frisk follow after him and go out of the bar, you walk a bit until reaching their house. Sans goes and opens the door, keeping it open for you

Frisk runs in happily first before you nod a ‘thanks’ to sans and walk inside as well

This is the first time you're inside here, so you look around at the unfamiliar surroundings

you see frisk talking with papyrus which is standing at the bottom of the stairs

“WHAT GOT YOU HERE?” he asks, looking at you

You shrug 

“Frisk wanted to come over”

“Yeah! We went to grillbys!” Frisk says

Papyrus looks at sans, sans looks away

“DID YOU NOW…? WELL, WELCOME”

“Thanks” you say casually

Frisk goes and sits on the couch so you follow and do the same

You put flowey on the coffeetable

Sans takes a seat on the couch as well

Frisk talks with sans and flowey as papyrus goes to bring something to offer to his guests

But when he comes back, he sees you've fallen asleep where you were sitting

“Her sleep isn't good… she always jolts awake from nightmares at nights…” flowey says as he notices papyrus looking at you

The other two glance at your sleeping form as well

Papyrus puts the drinks and sweets he has brought on the coffeetable and sits down on a couch

“SANS, YOU SUGGESTED THEY COME HERE, DIDN'T YOU?”

Sans looks aside

“What's the problem with that?” Frisk asks curiously

“THE TWO USED TO DO THIS IN… WELL THE OTHER TIMELINE, GO TO GRILLBYS BEFORE SHE WOULD VISIT US AT OUR HOME, AND THEN GO BACK TO HER OWN HOME OR THE CASTLE”

“So that's why…” flowey mumbles

“Look i just… it's weird ok?” Sans glances at you “i kind of… wanted a sense of familiarity” 

“I GET IT, BUT WE SHOULDN'T ACT TOO OBVIOUS INFRONT OF HER EITHER”

“Why not just tell her?” Frisk asks

“LIKE SHE WOULD BELIEVE THAT”

“Plus, i don't think she'd care” sans says, not looking happy about that

You jolt awake because of a nightmare making them go quiet

You rub your eyes, sitting straight and yawning

You look around, seeing everyone looking at you

“What…?”

“Falling sleep while sitting on a couch is sure something, I'm proud of you” sans jokes

“What can i say? I'm too good at this” you shrug with a small smile, joking back

“do you want to go home…?” frisk asks, looking worried

“Nah, I'm good” you don't wanna ruin the kids fun

You stay there for about an hour as frisk talks and has fun with the brothers

You on the other hand were half asleep all the time and didn't really register what happened, you didn't sleep much the past two days for some reason…

In the end, sans takes you back home with his teleportation

You thank him and say goodbye, going immediately to your room to sleep, the queen and others can take care of frisk themselves for now

You're sitting in the kitchen, watching as queen toriel bakes a pie or something while frisk helps by bringing ingredients 

“Miss y/n! Don't you want to help?”

You raise an eyebrow, why would you help?

“I'm sure it'll be fun!”

Honestly, you haven't tried baking much

You don't know how good you'll be at it

“I don't know, frisk, haven't really baked much”

But toriel remembers frisk always talking about the things you've baked in the last timeline… so you used to have an interest in it and maybe you still do and you just don't know? Or has that also changed in this timeline?

“It's quite easy!” queen toriel says, smiling at you “maybe you'll do good if you try?”

Why are these two so persistent on you baking? Whatever, just to get them off your ass

“Fine” you stand up and walk towards the queen “so, what am i supposed to do?”

“How about we bake two? You bake one and me and frisk will bake another”

“That's an amazing idea!” Frisk agrees

You're doing this you guess

The queen tells you what to do and you try it, honestly, it ain't too bad, maybe you would become a good baker if you tried

Frisk seems excited that you're helping which makes you wonder why…

“You really… don't bake?” queen toriel asks 

“No? Why?”

“You just… seem like someone who would enjoy it”

She says, looking at her own batter

“Do i now?” You raise an eyebrow

“Yes, you do” the king says, entering the kitchen

The king takes a seat at the table, watching you as you all bake together

Oh, isn't this just what he wanted in the last timeline? of course it is

This is exactly the life he wanted

Free, with his dear wife and dear adoptive children all in the same place, what more could he ask for?

“Now, all we have to do is wait!” Queen toriel tells frisk

“Dad! Can you make tea?” frisk asks the king

“Yes, of course, my dear”

“Miss y/n! Maybe you can help with that too!”

“Why would i? Plus, it's tea, what am i supposed to do?”

Frisk looks at the king, having a knowing look, oh, do they know about the fact that you and the king used to make tea together in the last timeline? Is that why? 

King asgore decides to convince you

“Well, there are different types of tea we have, you could make one type while i make another”

What is with everyone today? They just wanna get you to work more? 

“Fine” you say simply

Frisk smiles widely

“Call me when you wanna make them” you say, walking out of the kitchen and going to your room to grab your phone

“I can't wait to try her pie!” Frisk says, looking at the oven in excitement

Toriel kind of feels bad… they really liked you

The good thing is that at least you seem rather fond of the child as well even in this timeline

“Why did you want her to make tea?” the king asks

“She used to tell us how you made tea together! So why not do it again?” They say excitedly

Asgore sighs

“It's really kind of you dear, but…we shouldn't act like the last timeline… it never happened… at least to her”

“It has happened to her though… she has just forgotten about it… isn't there a way for her… to remember?” They look down sadly

“You can still spend time with her, all that matters is that she's here now, don't you think?” The queen says, smiling, trying to make the child happy

“I guess…”

“We should always be grateful for what we have! At least now she lives with us!” She tries again, patting the child

“Yeah!” that seems to have done the job “I'll go see what she's doing!” they say, running out of the kitchen

The two goat monsters smile as they watch them go

You came to take your phone when you got distracted and instead started talking to flowey

The door opens and frisk walks in

“Hello flowey” they greet the flower, making him wave at them with a smile

Flowey’s been opening up lately, finally, when seeing you don't let anyone hurt him, he's been getting more confident

Frisk comes and sits beside you on the bed, between you and flowey

You three just talk for a bit

“I guess it's time to go help with the tea” you say, standing up

“Tea?” Flowey asks

“Yeah, we made pies”

“And miss y/n is supposed to help the king with making tea!”

Flowey looks at you in surprise

“They kinda forced me” you shrug, picking him up and going out the room with frisk

You all go to the kitchen, finding the king picking up a teapot

“Oh! You're right on time” he says with a smile

You glance at the stove, finding two kettles on top

It seems the king has thought beforehand

You put flowey on the counter and go to help the king

The flower and the child watch you as you and the king make tea together

The queen joins a bit later, standing beside them and watching with a smile

Why is she smiling like that?

Maybe they like working with someone else?

After that, you talk with flowey until the tea and pie are both ready

You eat and feed the flower while you all sit at the table

Honestly, it's fun, taking care of the flower

“Miss y/n! Your pie turned out amazing!” Frisk says excitedly

You must admit, it turned out better than you thought it would

“Well of course, I baked it” you say with a grin

The queen shakes her head with a smile as the king chuckles

Today is the day 

The day frisk died in the last timeline

They can't let that happen again

“This is NOT a joke, i want you to keep a close eye on things today” the queen says

Why is she so worried about today? It's just like any other day

“Ok” you nod “why though? Has something happened?”

“No, she just is worried, a mother's gut feelings usually aren't wrong you know” the king puts a hand on her shoulder

“Oh” a gut feeling? That's all? Come on, they had you being curious over nothing “ok, i get it, i will” fine

You spend the whole day guarding the child closely, but there's not much that happens when you're in the house and for some reason the king and queen don't let you and frisk go outside and their three friends keep calling, papyrus, sans, undyne and alphys also come there

This is too weird but maybe the queen's gut feeling is strong? Or that it has worked before? Maybe

Until the very night, nothing happens

So you two just go to sleep

In the morning you wake up by the noises of everyone coming in the room 

And by everyone, you mean it

The queen, king, ambassadors, the skeleton brothers, undyne and alphys

You sit up, rubbing your eye with the back of your hand

“What is going on?”

“We just want to make sure everything is ok”

The queen wakes frisk up and alphys quickly checks their vitals

“E-everything is good” she says with a goofy smile

Everyone looks happy and relieved even, as the queen and king hug frisk tightly

They giggle and hug them back

You just look at the show with a raised eyebrow

What is going on?

Whatever, queens ‘gut feeling’ or something

You stand up and go to the bathroom to go through your morning routine

After exiting the bathroom you can literally see everyone babying the child for some reason

Ok that's too much of a reaction

“Is there something yall are not telling me?” You walk towards them

“We were just worried something may happen”

“And why?”

“I said she had a bad feeling” the king answers simply

“All this for a bad feeling?”

“You never know, maybe this bad feelings are right”

You just stare at the two

Yep, they have officially lost it

You shake your head and take a seat on the couch

Frisks friends call one after another to make sure they're good

Come on, a small ‘feeling’ doesn't make everyone panic like that, what is up?

You keep asking but the answer is always the same

Maybe the queen has some weird power or something you don't know of

Even though mother instincts are also said to be strong, maybe monsters have some special type of that?

“Can we go get ice cream now?” The child asks which makes the king and queen look at eachother worryingly

“Why not?” You say, not looking up from your phone

“Yay!”

“No… i don't think that's a good idea-” you cut the queen off

“I'm there, I'll keep an eye on the kid” that's your job eitherway

“You had a bad feeling about yesterday, today is another day, plus, if they're not supposed to leave the house NOW, they should never do it, since everyday might be dangerous”

The two look at eachother in the same manner again

“Calm down, I'll keep an eye on things”

After some convincing the two finally agree and everyone goes out for ice creams, except flowey who says he rathers stay inside, since it's cold outside

There's a park near the building that has this ice cream stance, some of the best ones you've ever had

So that's where you go, even though the king and queen look extremely reluctant

Everyone is talking to one another at the moment, you just eat your ice cream, listening in on some of the conversations when you feel a pull on your coat

You look down and see the small child looking up at you

“Yeah?”

“Can we look around? I always wanted to do that… but couldn't, especially because noone would come with me”

“Yeah, why not” you ruffle their hair and you two start walking away

The cool breeze blows on your faces as you walk, the ice cream making the weather even worse

You are walking when you two see a stand, selling snacks, chocolate included

So you two stand there to buy some, you keep start talking to the seller a bit, since they ask you some questions about the weather and how you feel about it and questions similar

When you finally pay, you look down at the child

“Ok i got-” but the child is nowhere to be seen “frisk?” You look around and find not one trace of the child “frisk!” You start walking around

No no, you were supposed to keep an eye on them, if anything happens to them you're done for

then you've fucked up your job, and to be honest… you actually like the kid

You start running around, checking the park

But there's no way they can hide in here, there's nothing to hide behind…

You look at the buildings around, they must be around somewhere

You look around quickly

You SOUL thumps in your chest, from what? You don't know

But you just.. have a feeling you should go somewhere… an alleyway

Your eyes shoot to the alleyway and you start running towards it

You stop at the entrance, looking inside

You find a human

An adult man

but what makes you eyes widen is frisk, backed up against a corner

“Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing?!” You walk in the alleyway with a frown

The guy turns around with wide eyes, you push past him and go to frisk, they hug you tightly, crying in your coat

The guy grits his teeth

“It's just another one then” he says, bringing a gun out

Your eyes widen again

This guy wants to KILL you! And frisk! No… he wants to kill frisk, that's why he was cornering them

You frown, standing infront of the child

“You wanna go first?”

“No” you make his blood stop circulating in his hand and he suddenly winces, the gun falling to the ground as he grips his hand with the other

You bring a bag of blood out of your bag and make a scythe out of it

“A mage…” the guy's eyes widen “who the hell are you?!”

“This kids bodyguard” you start walking towards him with a smirk, you can finish it off quickly by crushing his SOUL but that won't be fun, not at all

“Frisk close your eyes”

They stare at you

“Frisk!” They do as told, covering their eyes with their hands

“Why?” You keep walking towards the guy who's slowly backing away

“That's one of the ones that caused those freaks be allowed here” he says darkly “they don't deserve to live…” he lets go of his arm and brings a knife out

Monsterhaters everywhere…

“Neither do you” your smirk widens

The queen smiles as she watches everyone talking and having fun, she looks at you and frisk, finding an empty space there

Her heart sinks as her eyes widen, her face turning frightened

“Frisk!” She says, looking around, catching everyones attention

Everyone looks around not finding you, or the child

“No! no! Not again!” The queen grips her chest, starting to run in the direction she saw you carrying frisk back in the last timeline

No please, not again

Tears start gathering in her eyes

Everyone else starts following after her, panic settling in their very SOULS

The queen reaches where she has came across you before, in the last timeline, but there is no trace of you or the child

“That's where they were coming from!” She points towards the buildings

“Must be the alleyways!” Undyne says

“Is that… blood?!” The queen says, sensing the scent in the air, she feels like she's going to pass out

Papyrus and undyne can smell it too, everyone can

The two nod at eachother and start running with all their speed, the others are running too, but their speed is nothing compared to the two, arriving at the alleyway with serious expressions until it turns to panic when they see blood on the ground before it changes to relief when they see the small child covering their eyes and standing at the back of the alleyway

“They're ok!” Undyne says, to make everyone know, walking inside

The queen hurries in the alley, hugging the child tightly

“You're ok! You're ok…” tears run down her face as she hugs them to her chest

Frisk wraps their arms around the queen, hugging her just as tightly

“Where is y/n?! She was supposed to keep an eye on you!” The king says, kneeling down and hugging the two closely

“She- she went that way” they point at a byway at the end of the alleyway that the others didn't even notice until now

It's so much darker than their current location

“She left you alone here?! Who's that blood for?!” The queen asks, starting to get mad at you, inspecting the child to make sure they're ok

You promised to keep an eye on frisk and you left them here?!

“t-that guy…” they mumble, starting to cry “the man who k-killed me… h-he was…” the child chokes out, unable to talk

The trauma of what happened last time now resurfacing and finally showing it's ugly face

everyones eyes widen

They hear footsteps from the byway, approaching them slowly

Papyrus, sans and undyne get infront of everyone incase it's a danger

They see a silhouette making it's way towards them and tense up

That's until the shadowy figure comes to the light and reveals itself

They see you slowly come in the light, blood stains all over your coat

“Damn that dude was too persistent” you say, stretching your arms and body

frisk quickly runs towards you even though the queen tries to stop them

“Miss y/n!” They hug you tightly “are you ok?!”

You put a hand on their head

“Of course”

“Thank you” they hug you tighter, their voice breaking as they start crying again “I'm sorry, i shouldn't have left your side! I'll never do it again!” They say, crying in your clothes

“You better”

“What's going on here?!” The queen asks

“A guy wanted to kill them, took care of it as i said i would” you say, sounding too smug

“Where is that guy now”

You point at the byway “eitherway, i got your chocolate frisk” you bring it out of your pocket and hold it out for them, they don't take it though

“Wait… so you caught the man?” The king asks, looking a little happy and just a tad bit sadistic

You nod “is trying to run away like a worm”

the king looks at queen toriel before going in the byway

“Let's go home” the child nods silently

You take them to the queen, she carries them away, nathalie, beth and alphys following after her

“WHAT HAPPENED?”

“I've already answered that”

“No, the details” undyne says, crossing her arms

“We were buying chocolate, as i was paying frisk wandered off, i searched around, found them here with a guy cornering them. I took care of him and then came back”

“YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO KEEP AN EYE ON THEM! HOW COULD YOU LET THEM GET OUT OF YOUR SIGHT?! WHAT IF YOU WERE LATE?!”

“hey! It isn't my fault they wandered off! I was just paying for the chocolate!”

“WHAT IF THEY DIED?!” he glares at you, getting in your face

“well now you can see that they haven't!” you lean up, getting in his face now

The two of you keep glaring at eachother

“Thankfully, nothing happened” sans says with a small sigh

“How was i supposed to stop them from wandering off?! I lost focus for a few seconds and that happened” you look at sans, but still in the same place and posture

“IF YOU WERE A GOOD BODYGUARD AND KNEW HOW TO DO YOUR DAMN JOB, THAT WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED!”

“news flash, I'm NOT a bodyguard! I'm a fucking-” you cut yourself off “whatever, i don't have to explain myself to you anyways”

“At least now we know who it was” the king says, walking out of the byway with the unconscious assaulter in his hand

Everyone looks at him

Who it was? What is that supposed to mean?

“What Is that supposed to mean?” You ask aloud, tired of being kept in the dark

“There are things we can't let everyone know” the king says sternly

“But I'm their bodygua-”

“YOU'RE JUST THEIR BODYGUARD, NOTHING MORE” papyrus crosses his arms over his chest

Yeah he's right…

You almost forgot… you're just a bodyguard, why were you acting as anything more?

You're not a friend to these people

You fall silent, back away from the tall skeleton with your glare still intact

The group starts walking away, not even looking back to see if you're following

You pull your hood up, going through the byway with your hands in your pockets, you need some time to think, and some air to take

“Hey, where did she go?”

The group comes to a stop, looking back

“I thought she was following us?” Undyne asks, now also looking back

“She must've taken another route” the king says, looking around

You go ‘home’ late that night, much later than you should, not that you had any particular thing to do, you just waste time, sit on random benches and walk through the city

By the time you make it back it's 1 am

You go in quietly

“I think we need to talk” queen toriels voice rises up

You turn around, you're honestly too tired for this

You sigh before nodding and going to sit on the couch infront of her

“I've heard from the others that you lost frisk for a while”

You roll your eyes

“They wandered off, but it was just a few minutes”

“Those few minutes could have cost frisk their life” she's not wrong but… “but, i can't look over the fact that you did save them in the end, thank you”

…

Finally, someone is appreciating your effort

“No problem”

“No, i am really thankful, if it wasn't for you, i would have never seen my child again” she looks honest

“It was just my job” yeah, just a bodyguard

You stand up

“I'm just gonna go to bed…” you turn around and walk to the room, finding The king sitting beside frisks bed on the chair the queen always sits on

“Oh there you are, where were you?”

“Outside” you go straight to bed and sit down

“I know that, why?”

“Just wanted some air” you lay down, pulling the blanket on top of you and stare at the ceiling 

For some reason, you can't sleep

The king leaves after you arrive, he was most likely here to guard the child while you weren't here

Why were you getting so close to them?

You just… genuinely thought maybe…

They seemed to open up to you?

You thought you were getting a little…

You stand up, going to the bathroom and doing what you have to before going to the kitchen for a cup of coffee, maybe that can help the exhaustion you feel

You sit on the counter, drinking your coffee when king asgore also walks inside and pours himself a cup of coffee before sitting at the table, reading a newspaper as he drinks

Thinking of it now, it's been more than a year of you taking care of the child, maybe it's time you get back to your real work…

“Is everything ok?”

“Yeah”

“Then why do you look like that?”

“Like what?”

“emotionless, And a little bothered”

“No, i was just thinking”

He raises an eyebrow but doesn't say anything

You jump off the counter and go to your room, take your phone and call your boss, mr.hatchett

You glance at the flower and child, they're both asleep

“Yes, kinda, it's been more than a year, and i was thinking, maybe i can get back to my own job now? And it would be better if you chose another bodyguard for the kid”

There's silence for a while

“Is there a problem?”

“Eh, I'm just… something happened but I'll tell you about it later, when we meet face to face”

“When are you coming?”

“In an hour or so”

This was dumb to begin with, putting an assassin as a bodyguard? Of course that won't work

You go out of the room, get your car keys and are about to leave when

“Where are you going?” the queen asks, putting something on the dining table

“i have something to do, please take care of frisk, it won't be too long” you say as you walk out the door, leaving the queen curious

You go to your car and drive to the headquarter and go straight to mr.hatchetts office

“So, what's the matter”

“The kid was attacked last night”

“I don't see how that's a problem”

“i let the kid wander around, i wasn't there, I'm also tired of this, i want to go back to my old missions”

He looks at you for a while, he's obviously not convinced and knows there's more to this

“Look” you lean back “I was getting too… friendly? I don't want to, i need space”

After a little, he hums

“I see… i will replace you then. The replacement must be there until tomorrow”

You nod, standing up

“See you later” you say, walking out of the door

You go back to the car and drive ‘home’ again

This is the last day of your guarding duty then

You close the door after entering the house and go to sit on the couch

You see the queen and frisk sitting there

“Hey” you say, changing your tone to normal “how were things when i was gone?” You grin, sitting on the couch infront of them

Frisk looks at you before hugging the queen tightly

You look at them, confused before looking at the queen for answers

She pets their head

“They're just a little bothered today”

“Oh, because of last night? Don't worry about him, he can't hurt you, you have a bodyguard for a reason”

They don't answer, they're THAT bothered?

“You wanna go get a smoothie?”

They shake their head, their face still buried in queen toriels robe

What's wrong with them?

“Is something else bothering you?”

They don't answer

“They're tired you know…” the queen hugs them and stands up, taking them to your room

Ok now that was weird

But again, the kid was attacked last night, if you were late a few minutes they'd be dead now

You shrug, getting your phone out and just playing with it for awhile when the door opens and the king walks in, he sits where queen toriel was sitting at a while ago

“Are you sure everything is fine?” why's he asking?

“Yes?”

“Certain?”

“Yes”

He doesn't say anything more

After a few minutes, the exhaustion catches up to you and you literally fall asleep while going on your phone

You slowly open your eyes, the nightmare again, but it doesn't matter, you're used to it by now

As you open your eyes you see… papyrus? And sans? Also undyne? What are they doing here? The three are playing with cards it seems

You sit upright which results in the couch making creaking noises. That catches the threes attention

“Hey loser! Wanna play?”

You would say yes, but remember, you're just a bodyguard to them

“No” you stand up and stretch

Undynes grin falters 

“Why?”

You shrug and walk away to the kitchen, you're starving…

Or wait, you're just a bodyguard, Maybe eating their food is too much too, this isn't your house, this is where you had to stay in for a small while as you protected a resident

Yeah … you change your direction and go towards the door instead

“Where are you going?” Sans asks, raising a bonebrow

“Out” you close the door behind you quickly to make sure they won't ask more

“She's seriously leaving then?” sans asks, leaning back

“I don't want her to go…” frisk mumbles, coming out of the room with flowey in their hands

The queen and the child were inside the room talking for hours now

queen toriel sighs, following after them

“Are you sure you didn't hear her wrong? Or it wasn't a dream?” Undyne asks which,makes frisk nod

“Flowey heard it too” they say, the flower nods

“She thought we were asleep” flowey tone is quiet, he's not happy with this either

“I don't understand why she would do that” the queen says, putting a hand on frisks shoulder worryingly

“Could it be because of the fight you two had last night?” Sans looks at his brother

“Fight?” Frisks eyes widen

“I WAS ANGRY OK, SO WAS SHE, THAT WAS HARDLY A FIGHT, PLUS, SHE'S NOT THE TYPE TO JUST WALK AWAY BECAUSE OF A SMALL FIGHT”

“who cares? Maybe it will be for the best eitherway” nathalie walks in the room, flopping down on the couch “she is just frisks bodyguard now, nothing more in this timeline”

“she's not just a bodyguard! She's a friend! She always spends time with me”

“That's cause it's her job”

“No, she did it because she sees me as more than just a target” frisk defends, tears gathering In their eyes “she always spends time with yall playing cards, and she looks out for you! In her own way…” they look at the group who were about to play cards

“What did you tell her last night?” queen toriel asks

“NOTHING THAT WASN'T THE TRUTH”

The queen narrows her eyes

The door opens and you walk inside, everyone falls silent and just looks

You don't say anything and go straight to your room

“Have i done something wrong?” Frisk mumbles

“No dear, I'm sure it's nothing to do with you”

“Then why should she leave” the queen sighs

“Dear, we've talked about this”

“I don't want her to go, she doesn't remember the last timeline, then I'll never get to see her again!”

“If she wants to leave, then there's nothing we can do” she pets frisk head as they hug her tightly

If you're going to leave, then you need to pack your things, there's not much but still

You'll tell them about this tomorrow when you leave, you don't want to ruin the last day even though you didn't get to spend a lot of time with the small child…

And they seemed down, you should really see what the matter is after you have packed your things

You go around the room, gathering everything that belongs to you

It takes you about an hour and a half but you're finally done, you put the luggage aside, somewhere that it wouldn't be noticable for the child and walk outside

Everyone is still there, the three are not playing cards anymore it seems and are just sitting there, watching a show

Everyone is gathered

“Hey, got place for one more?” You go and sit next to frisk, they don't say anything which is concerning on it's own

You frown while looking at them, they don't even look at you

Is there something wrong?

You look at the others and they seem to have weird faces too

“What? Am i gonna die and i don't know about it?” You joke

Oops, you were supposed to treat them as clients

“Why would you say that?” The king says

“Yeah, we're just watching tv”

You're not convinced at all but you let it go, it lingers in the back of your mind but you shouldn't comment on it, remember? You're just a bodyguard

you must admit the tv show they're watching is a bit boring, so you find yourself deep in thought

Thinking about the fact that you'll go back to your own house and your real job

it's quite the change but it's for the best

Your phone beeps

You pick it up, the notification shows that you have a message. It's from mr.hatchett

Mr.bossman: the replacement has been found, he will be there tomorrow at 9

You: ok, thank you

Sans's eye catches that little conversation from over your shoulder

So there will be a replacement?

He kind of… doesn't want you to go either, you are a fun person, a little selfish but a fun person nonetheless

But he can't stop you or do anything

You put your phone aside, going back to watching the boring show

“time for bed” the queen says, taking frisks hand and pulling them to their feet

You get up as well

You three go to the room and frisk gets in their bed, putting flowey on the bedside table

“Is everything ok, frisk?” You ask, sitting on their bed

They don't look at you

You can be gentle at times, you gently cup their face and make them look at you

“What's the matter?” The don't say anything but suddenly jump and hug you

You are taken aback and just stare at them, dumbfounded

“Goodbye” they mutter

“I think you mean goodnight” you say, slowly petting their head

Yeah, it will be goodbye but that's for tomorrow, maybe you'll drop by if you have the time of course

They hug you a little more before letting go and laying down on the bed

“Goodnight frisk” you say, standing up and going to your own bed to take a seat as the queen sits on the chair next to frisks bed and starts singing a lullaby

You yawn yourself, laying down and falling asleep first

The next morning you wake up earlier than normal, or better say wake up from a nightmare and decide to just get up completely

You go through your morning routine, pick up your luggage and go out of the room, it's about time you leave

“Are you going somewhere?” The king asks, looking at you from the kitchen where he is sitting next to the queen 

“Actually, yes” you put the luggage down and walk towards them, standing near the kitchen but not going in “I'm being replaced, the new bodyguard will be here around 9, but you have to take care of frisk yourself until then, i have some things to do”

“You're not going to tell them goodbye?”

“i have to go now, and i don't want to wake them up” you have to go to your house and put everything (your luggage and shit) there and buy groceries, you haven't been there for a while so the fridge isn't even plugged in

You just payed someone to clean it and dust it off from time to time

It's time to go back, you have to ready the house before your shift starts

You'll go back to your real job today afterall

At 9 actually

You hear a door creak open but before you can see who it was someone hugs you tightly

Your eyes widen in surprise as you look down and see the small child hugging you tightly

Ugh, amazing

“Hey frisk”

“Do you have to leave?”

“…”

“...yes”

“But why? Did i do something wrong? I promise i won't run off again!”

“No frisk that's not…” you sigh, petting their head “i need some…” space

 and time

But saying that will make things worse for the small kid

“I've been here for a year, that's already too much don't you think?” You say in a joking tone but that doesn't make things better, at all

“Don't worry, there will be a replacement”

You pet their head as you say that

Your wrist watch beeps

It's already 7

“Gotta go” you say, patting frisk on the back as they let go

You walk to the door and pick your luggage up “bye everyone, i can't say it was bad this one year so uh… thanks” it's hard to admit but whatever

You open the door

“Tell flowey i said bye” you at first wanted to take him, but your shifts on your normal job are long, you wouldn't be able to take care of him properly and would have to leave him alone most of the time and when you'd be back, you'd be asleep

You wave and finally leave, you go downstairs with the elevator of course and leave the place for one last time

It feels kinda exciting to finally go back to your original job

You get in your car and drive away

“She didn't even say goodbye properly” nathalie comments, walking to the livingroom

Frisk watches from the window as you drive away

The queen puts a hand on their shoulder slowly, not saying anything, she doesn't know what to say eitherway

She can just hope frisk can get used to this new circumstance

There's a knock on the door at 9 sharp, it must be the new bodyguard

The queen opens the door, finding a formal looking man in a suit, standing completely straight with his hands behind his back

“Hello ma'am, I'm here in place of miss L/n”

“hello” she nods simply, this one doesn't seem to be as laid back as you, she hopes frisk can get along with him

It's been a few weeks of you coming back to your own job and it's been amazing to say the least

Finally some adrenaline, some activity and not to forget fun

You kinda miss the small child but again, you were just a bodyguard, nothing more

you lay on your couch, trying to find something to watch on the tv, going through different channels with a bored expression

That's until your phone rings, you pick it up and answer without really looking at the id

“Hello?”

“Hello y/n” mr.hatchetts voice makes you pause

“Mr.hatchett? Is there a problem?”

“i wanted to ask you to go back to bodyguard duty”

“Wha- why?”

“we have changed the bodyguard 5 times in the span of a month, none of them can stay for long and ask to change positions or clients in the span of 5 or 6 days” he sighs

“What? That's impossible, frisk is a good kid, noway they can't stay with them”

“It appears that the kid is not the problem, but it's the people around them” people?

“Yeah, they've always been annoying”

“The king and queen have apologized so many times but we just can't find anyone else to go, so please, just do it yourself”

“I don't know… i prefer my current job, not to mention, i don't want to be near people that see me as ‘just a bodyguard’, it kinda…” messes you up

“There's noone else to do the job”

“So now i have to do it?”

“Yes” he says, his tone now stern

“Understandable”

In the end, you do accept and go back, you stand behind the door the next day at 9:06 pm, you were supposed to be there at 9 pm but eh, whatever

The door opens

“This one's late, that's a first, i think you should teach them to be on time ” you hear nathalie say as the door opens to show the queen, looking extremely tired and tense

“Hell-” she cuts herself off upon seeing you, her eyes widen as she looks at you in surprise

“Hey” you say casually, walking in without an invitation

You find everyone there, EVERYONE

You stretch, putting your luggage aside

“Can't even hold a bodyguard?” you raise an eyebrow

Everyones heads turn around to look at you in one single second as they recognize your voice

“Miss y/n?!” frisk jumps up from their sitting position

“Hey kid”

Everyone looks at you with shocked expressions

“Seriously though, i was on my normal job, then i get forced to come back cause yall are scaring the others away, you have to be that difficult?” You say with an annoyed tone

“Why… did you come back?” Undyne asks hesitantly

“Noone else would agree to come, also the special force didn't want another bodyguard to waste their time” you put a hand on your hip, looking at the bunch disapprovingly

“Wait! So you'll be staying?!” Frisk asks, a smile on their lips

“sadly”

The child runs towards you and hugs you tightly 

“I promise to never wander off again! I missed you” they bury their face in your clothes, looking happy

“You better not” you put a hand on their head

“FOR HOW LONG?”

“as long as frisk needs a bodyguard in the king and queens eyes”

“We're stuck with her again?!” Nathalie says with a frown

You feel leaves around your hand and look down, you see flowey hugging your hand

his pot is in frisks hand

“Hey flowey” you greet, taking him and bringing him up to your eye level, he suddenly hugs your face closely, the amazing smell of flower filling your nostrils as you take a small step back in your surprise

“we all missed you so much!” Yeah ‘all’, he most likely means frisk and himself

“Thanks…” noone has ever… maybe you ARE more than a simple bodyguard

 to this two at least

That kinda makes a warm feeling form in your chest… for whatever reason

“So, you were a bad kid and pushed all the bodyguards away huh?” You smirk, looking down at frisk who shakes their head quickly

“No, i didn't, i always listened!”

“Then why did they leave?”

Everyone look at eachother and don't answer

Your raise an eyebrow

“Have you eaten yet?” the queen asks

“No”

“Then let's go” she pulls you to the kitchen with frisk following

Papyrus sighs as he sits on the couch, nathalie has been going at it for what? An hour now?

Talking all about how ‘he doesn't love her’ ‘he is after y/n’ and things like that

It's leaving papyrus with a headache

Isn't nathalie supposed to be kind? Understanding?

Then why is she giving him this much trouble?

He just wants it to be over, it's been like this for a while now

Even y/n acts kinder than nathalie at this point

“Are you even listening?!”

“NATHALIE, DEAR, CAN WE PLEASE STOP WITH THIS?”

Nathalie seems to explode with anger

she grits her teeth “who do you think you're talking to?! You know what?! Go have fun with your dear y/n!” She stomps away and out of the house

Papyrus is way too tired to go after her at this point

He doesn't get it, why does she act like that?

Actually, papyrus may just want to ‘spend time with his dear y/n’ now

“You're finally coming to your senses?” you smirk as you look at the tall skeleton standing infront of you while you are seated at the couch

“ARE YOU GONNA HELP OR NOT?”

“Hey, i never said I'd help or something, but i may know someone who can help” you know this one doctor, he works for the special force BUT if it's the captain of the royal guard and possibly the rulers of the monsters then he may help “doctor… grayson i believe, i can inform him that you're going if you want” you've heard he has an extra office outside of the special force but still doesn't accept normal patients

“THAT WOULD BE AMAZING ACTUALLY”

Anything to get nathalie out of here

“You gotta babysit frisk then… or i can take them with me… eh, the rulers wouldn't care right?” And you're sure frisk wouldn't hate coming along

“Frisk!” You call for the child, and they come running

“Yes?”

“We're going to the special force”

“‘we’?! I can come along?!”

“Yep” you stand up

The child seems delighted

“Yes! I'm going to see your working place!”

Maybe you'll show them your office if that's how much they wanna see it…

“Let's go then” the child nods, immediately running towards the door “I'll text you the result” you nod at papyrus before following after them

You go to the headquarter and after some research find the doctors office

You sit on a chair as frisk looks around at the decorations as you talk

“I apologize captain, but i don't have any time to waste”

“You're a doctor, it's your job” you cross your arms

“I don't go to my office a lot, i have a lot of responsibilities here, and i don't really accept normal patients, this person you are talking about can go to someone else, i am not the only doctor specialized in this field, i have far more important people to get to”

“We're talking about the captain of the royal guard here, and if you do a good job, probably the king and queen as well, is that not important enough?”

“wait, the captain of the royal guard?”

You nod

He seems to think a little

“fine, I'll do an examination on their SOUL, this month, the 15th” he looks at his calendar as he talks “around 4 pm, and please, tell them to not forget, I'll be opening the office just for them”

You nod and stand up, he hands you a card, it has the address of his office on it

You say your goodbye and leave with frisk

Sending a text to papyrus to give him the information before taking frisk to your office, you've come all this way, and the kid seems to be happy with everything they can get, so why not?

The 15th finally arrives and papyrus and his brother make their way over to the address you've sent the younger one

He sits on the examination chair as the doctor first asks a few questions before slowly bringing his SOUL out, eyes widening slightly as he sees all the magic corrupting his SOUL

“This is one of the worst cases I've ever seen…”

“Why is it like that eitherway?” Sans asks, concerned for his brothers well being, you didn't really give them a good answer back then

The doctor sits on his chair behind his desk, typing something on his computer while simultaneously explaining

“This is what we call a corruption, you have been in touch with a bearer of the MANIPULATION SOUL, which with time causes corruptions to your SOUL if they actually try to use manipulation on you, making you believe the individual, do you know who this person is?”

“MY… GIRLFRIEND?”

The doctor stares At him for a little before hesitantly talking

“I'd suggest keeping distance with this individual”

“So… can you get these off?” Sans asks, looking down at his brothers SOUL

“Yes, but… it will take HOURS to get all the magic off, we can do it now if you want to, would you also want a checkup?” the doctor asks sans

He's about to decline when papyrus talks

“YES ACTUALLY”

Sans looks at his brother for a few seconds but the doctor doesn't give him enough time to talk as he guides the skeleton to also sit down and brings his SOUL out for an inspection and as he thought, the same thing was going on with him

The doctor, even though has something else he has to do, stays to purify the twos SOULS, he can't actually let them just go while they're in this state

For once, he'll actually do what a good doctor should and will stop being selfish

He guides them to the room that the operation will take place in, instructs them to lay down on the beds, and connects the machine to their SOULS

The two look extremely uncomfortable with all of this but they have no other choice they guess, sans especially, he wasn't expecting to end up like this, papyrus was kind of readying himself but not sans

It takes HOURS but when the doctor is done and finally turns the machine off, the two feel dizzy, unable to even sit straight

“That is completely normal, after all this operation was directly done on your SOULS” the doctor reassures

It takes them a while to gather themselves but the doctor insists that someone should pick them up and that they can't go themselves

Who are they supposed to call though?

The two look at eachother

Beth doesn't know about this and they don't want to tell her yet either, nathalie is for sure out of question

Undyne drives so wildly it will get everything worse

The doctor seems to understand their silence

“won't the captain help?”

“Eh, i don't know about-” sans eyesockets suddenly widen as he thinks about you

His mind immediately jumping to the day nathalie told them that ‘you told her that you hate them’

Thinking of it now… why did he believe that? That seems… too far off, seems too much like a lie… right now, he doesn't believe that one bit… for some reason…

Manipulation… nathalie was lying then… the reason why he doesn't believe that must be the removal of the corruption or whatever

Wait… you didn't hate them?

You didn't?!

And they still treated you like that?!

The two brothers suddenly look at eachother with wide eyesockets, seemingly both thinking about the same thing

“I think we fucked up…”

your phone rings and well, it's papyrus, is he facing troubles or something?

You answer

“Hello?”

“HEY UH… CAN YOU COME HERE? THE DOCTOR ISN'T LETTING US GO ALONE”

“Us?”

“SAYS THE UH… REMOVAL OF THOSE… THINGS WAS DIRECTLY DONE ON OUR SOULS AND WELL… SAYS WE CAN'T GO ALONE”

“Wait, sans got those removed too?” Nice, maybe this is the beginning of you getting rid of nathalie “I'm on my way”

You ask the queen to keep an eye on frisk since you have to do something and she agrees, you get to your car and start on your way

The two do seem dazed, you do understand why the doctor wasn't letting them go alone, their eyelights are fuzzy and the two are barely sitting up

The queen thinks but… can't come up with anything

“It wouldn't hurt to just go to the doctor” sans says “just to make sure, literal fungus around your very SOUL is concerning”

Everyone looks at eachother

Papyrus has the doctors number since you gave the doctors card to him, they book an appointment for everyone, the king, queen toriel, undyne and alphys

The doctor agrees since it's the literal RULERS of the UNDERGROUND

The appointment goes as it should, and everyone is left dizzy so the skeleton brothers have to take them home

You and frisk are sitting on the couch, watching an animation when the door opens and an extremely out of it king asgore walks in, followed by the queen who is being accompanied by papyrus

You raise an eyebrow as frisk runs to them

“Mom! Dad! Are you ok?!”

“Yes dear, don't worry” the queen smiles softly

Papyrus helps them to their room before coming back, as frisk is distracted with the tv, you go to papyrus

“Ok, what's going on?”

“THEY… WENT TO DOCTOR GRAYSON AS WELL”

wait…

“Wait wait wait, so… oh my god! YES! Finally, that bitchass nathalie is about to get the fuck out of my way then!” you knew it!

“YOU… HATE HER THAT MUCH?”

“yes! what else did you expect?! Oh god i can't wait to see her kicked out” you smile evilly

Papyrus silently looks at you

“What?”

“NOTHING” he looks aside, like he's almost… sad? Maybe?

“Don't tell me you're sad for her”

“NO, NOT AT ALL… I HAVE TO GO NOW, SEE YOU LATER…” he walks aways and out of the room

Ok, this is all so fucked up

Papyrus has talked about this with the doctor

And as he thought, nathalie has lied and they are only now realizing because of the corruption removed

So you never hated them to begin with and they still treated you like that

He can't believe how fucking dumb he has been

Everytime he looks at you, all he remembers is the second ball, your face when you were looking at them as they pushed you away

It fills him with a terrible feeling, it leaves a bad taste in his mouth

It's horrible

everyone has discussed this when they got better and all came to one answer

They want nathalie gone, as faraway as possible

The queen and the king feel the most betrayed

She lied to them for all this time, ruined what could have been the family they oh so wanted

she made them… do that to you…

“What?” Nathalie asks, tilting her head and acting as innocent as she can “why would i lie about y/ns feelings about you? I would never do that”

Everyone looks at her, not convinced

“What is up with all of you?”

“Why? Just give us an answer” the queen asks, looking hurt but stern

“What has she told you? I haven't-”

“Nathalie” the king says sternly “why?”

“I don't know what you're talki-”

“YOU'LL EITHER ANSWER IN THE NEXT 10 SECONDS, OR I PROMISE, IT WON'T END PRETTY” papyrus says, standin right behind nathalie, glaring down at her with his eyelight gone

His tone sends a shiver down her spine, not to mention, she didn't even notice when he snuck up on her

She can't keep the innocent act up anymore as she frowns

“Are you taking her side again?! I-” papyrus grips her face, pulling it closer to his own, his glare darkening

“WHY?”

nathalies eyes widen, a sense of dread filling her very SOUL

“WE'LL ASK ONE LAST FUCKING TIME, WHY DID YOU LIE?”

nathalie pulls her face away and papyrus decides to let her as he let's go of her face

She takes a few steps away

Looking at everyone, realizing that noone is going to help her, what has happened?! Have you told them something?! No they wouldn't believe you over her

Papyrus takes a step closer and that's when she knows the game is over

“Ok! I- she was wary of me so i decided to do what she wanted to do first!”

Papyrus stops as she talks

“Go on” the king asks, crossing his arms

“She wanted to tell you not to trust me, obviously, so i did it first, i made you not trust her”

The queen remembers that… when you wanted to talk to her alone… but nathalie didn't let you… oh how could she be so blind?

“That's not everything is it?” Sans asks

Nathalie glares at him

“She… was jealous” beth says quietly, everyone looks at her, she's standing in the doorway, they didn't think she'd be back so soon “she wanted what y/n had… it… she hated and envied her…” 

nathalie can't help the anger boiling inside her gut as she grits her teeth and clenches her fists

“I think it's better you leave” the king says sternly

“What?!” they can't be doing this!

“Nathalie, you betrayed our trust, lied to us and ruined our relationship with someone we held so close”

They're basically doing what they did to you to her now

“Leave, now, i never want to see you again” the king says

“You can't do that to me!”

“Of course we can, someone like you, deserves so much worse, be happy we won't go too far, just because of the time we have spent” undyne crosses her arms

She looks at them all, each having a betrayed yet stern expression as they stare at her

She's furious, but she's not dumb, she doesn't stand a chance infront of these monsters

She grits her teeth tighter

The door opens and you and frisk walk in

You both stare at what's going on with surprised/curious expressions

A big ass smile appears on your face as you realize what's going on

Oh! it's finally happening! YES!

“Frisk, can you wait in our room?”

“Uh… are you sure miss y/n?”

“Yep, go, go” you push them gently inside the room before closing the door

“You bitch” nathalie says angrily “you think you can just-”

“Just go” the queen mumbles, looking aside sadly

“You heard the queen” you smirk

“I'll fucking kill you!” She attempts to pull your hair but you catch her hand before it can reach your hair

“Oh you have no idea how long I've waited for this” you punch her in the face before taking her hair which makes her yelp, and pulling her towards the entrance door, you open it and push her out before closing the door

She curses, kicking the door a few times before leaving

She calls everyone a bunch of ‘freaks that she was forced to tolerate’ while going

“tell me that wasn't satisfying” you grin back at everyone but it falls slightly as you see their expressions

Noone seems happy

Papyrus is just staring at you like he wants to say something but can't, sans, undyne and alphys are all looking away with an unreadable expression, the queen is looking down sadly as the king has a hand on her shoulder

“why do you look like that?”

“We need time… adjusting” the king says hesitantly

“oooh, Ok, yall just do that then” There's nothing you can do right now so you decide to just go to your room

“I… i let her…” beth says, looking down shamefully “i knew what she was doing and i let her i… I'm no better than she is… i lied to you too… to all of you… especially you” she looks at sans “I'm sorry… I'll… I'll leave as well… the guilt has been eating at me i… i can't… not anymore”

“Beth, dear you-”

Beth cuts the queen off

“No… don't call me that when all I've ever done is…” she falls silent before walking away, and to her room

“So she knew…” sans mumbles
