Total Drama/Disventure Camp What Ifs But Narrated Like A YouTuber

Summary:

Basically I make Total Drama and Disventure Camp What Ifs in writing format but I narrate them similarly to TD Wonderer and other YouTubers.

Notes:

I have made my distaste for Amy rather known at this point. She’s absolutely insufferable and the worst part about her arc is that she gets away with literally everything in the end. As you can imagine, I despise this ending, not only because it’s unfair to Sammy but because I hate seeing my most despised characters happy, especially if they’re pathetic one-note villains like Amy so today, I’m going to go over a What If that goes over the events of what would happen if Amy got voted off normally.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: What If Amy was voted off normally

Chapter Text

Episode 3: For this What If to work, I need to create a feasible change in the episode that I think would make sense and then I realized… Jasmine could just tell the other teammates that Amy was the one who popped the balloon and not Sammy. Since the team actually likes and respects Jasmine, I do think that even the most braindead of the Floating Salmon members would believe her since it’s two people’s word versus one person’s word so yeah, I do believe Amy would be eliminated in a unanimous 6-1 vote. Amy would be outraged by this and would swear revenge on her teammates.

Episode 4: Now that Sammy’s not pretending to be her sister, the dynamic of the Floating Salmon changes a bit. For instance, Rodney would fall in love with her instead of her pretending to be Amy when she offers him berries since Amy was exposed for being a villain last night and my favorite thing about this is that there is no Sammy bashing since the team knows who the good twin is now.

As for the challenge, absolutely nothing would change except for when Sammy admits she hates Amy the most. No one would be surprised, nor would they care about her answer since like I said, Amy was exposed. Due to the lack of changes, the Floating Salmon loses the challenge and Rodney is eliminated the same way as canon.

Episode 5: I had debated on whether Amy would return to the island since she wasn’t cheated out of the game but then I decided she would because for one, it’s easier for the sake of the Shasmine plot and for two, I can seriously buy Amy being that entitled. If EZEKIEL was entitled enough to hang onto the plane after getting eliminated, then Amy CERTAINLY is just as if not more entitled.

So with that said, I think during the pre-challenge, Sammy would be trying to interact more with people like Scarlett and Topher, and while she’d probably have a decent conversation with Scarlett about how humorous Max’s antics are, Topher would probably dismiss her in favor of his scheme to take over the show.

The challenge would go the same way as canon and Amy would return to sabotage Sammy from winning the challenge so Team Kinosewak still loses and you may think Sammy or Jasmine are the ones getting the boot, right? WRONG. No one’s gonna blame Sammy for an outside force interfering in the challenge and while Topher and Max will undoubtedly vote for Jasmine for screwing up, I think this is where Scarlett makes a move and tells Jasmine and Sammy to vote for Max. This is the episode where Max calls Scarlett his “sidekick” which motivated Scarlett to advocate for Max’s elimination next episode but this time, she can do so in a much easier way since not only are Jasmine and Sammy much more useful than Max(especially since Jasmine is now mad at Shawn) but she can gain their firmest loyalty since Jasmine and Sammy are desperate and need her vote. So in a 3-2 vote, Max is gone and Topher begins to realize that he’s screwed if they lose again so he needs to enact his plan against Chris FAST.

Episode 6: During the pre-challenge, Jasmine would be venting to Sammy and Scarlett about how much of a flip flopper Shawn is and while Scarlett would encourage these feelings, Sammy would be more hesitant since she’s interacted with Shawn and manipulative is not what she’d use to describe him and those feelings only increase when Shawn tries to talk to Jasmine about what happened last episode. I didn’t bother mentioning the rest of Team Maskwak’s antics since they’re all pretty much the same as canon.

During the actual challenge, Scarlett and Sammy would accompany Jasmine in chasing the monkey and thanks to Scarlett’s monkey-see monkey-do trick, they’d actually be able to make it to the vending machine before Ella can lure the bear over.

So Team Maskwak loses this time, but it doesn’t really matter since Ella gets disqualified anyway. However this actually makes more sense for Sugar to do since she would’ve been eliminated otherwise so it actually seems like a genuine moment of strategy for Sugar and not just her being an idiot.

Episode 7: For this challenge, the Confused Bears’s antics would likely remain the same and so would Jasmine and Topher pairing up for the challenge so I’m not gonna cover those since they go exactly the same so I’m just gonna cover Sammy and Scarlett’s antics this episode. I imagine they’d end up finding out the island is artificial since the robot crocodile being skewered by a rock and having gears shoot out would be a pretty big indicator.

Scarlett would still use the gears from the croc to make a remote and open an elevator for her and Sammy but since Sammy’s here instead of Max, she wouldn’t throw out the remote and hell, I think Scarlett convinces Sammy that they should keep the remote to help them in challenges and while Sammy MIGHT be reluctant at first… the girl literally poisoned Amy to steal her spot in the game, I think she’d be okay with cheating if Scarlett reminded her that once Topher’s gone, it’s down to the three of them for the vote.

Like canon, no one wins the challenge since they all went through the wrong escape routes so instead of elimination, we have a team swap and Sky still swaps like canon and since Sammy’s close with both Jasmine and Scarlett, I can see Chris making a joke on how Sammy and Scarlett are a couple before swapping Sammy to the Confused Bears.

Episode 8: For the pre-challenge, I imagine Shawn would try to talk to Sammy about Jasmine and ask if she’s said anything about him only for Sammy to awkwardly respond: “Well… she does mention how she wants to crush you into a million pieces…” which makes Shawn sigh. When Sugar overhears this conversation, she decides that she should try and manipulate Sammy to turn against Shawn since he and Dave are probably gonna get chummy now that their love interests are on opposite teams.

Sugar would probably unnerve Sammy at first when talking to her but before Sammy can say anything, Sugar would tell her that she should tell her about the dynamics of this team and that Shawn and Dave are basically each others’ right-hand man and if it comes to a vote, Sammy should vote with her. When Sammy questions why, Sugar would tell her that it’s what Jasmine would want, wouldn’t she?

As for the challenge itself, I don’t think Jasmine would be as extreme with her vendetta against the Confused Bears since while Shawn is on that team, so is Sammy and the last thing she wants is for her to get mauled by lions… my god, this show is morally bankrupt at times. However, I do think Jasmine would encourage Sky to sabotage DAVE specifically so that whole airhorn scene still happens.

In the end, despite Scarlett likely giving herself advantages due to the remote she made, I still think the Floating Salmon lose the challenge, and why do I feel that way? Topher’s still in the game and Chris would likely still trick him with the phone call. And like canon, Topher is eliminated in a 3-1 vote and Chris exposes the fact he made the phone call.

Episode 9: The teams merge in the middle of the night and like canon, Sugar would win the Juggy Chunks challenge while Sky still blows up at Dave like she did originally. During the hide and seek portion of the challenge, Scarlett would suggest to Jasmine and Sammy that they split up for the challenge with Scarlett hiding with Sammy since they both know Jasmine can handle herself. Jasmine wouldn’t see much fault with that logic so she agrees.

Like canon, Sugar would still catch Dave and Sky the same way she did originally and during this time, Scarlett would be too queasy to use the remote so she and Sammy would be walking along the forest normally. Like Max, Sammy would accidentally lead Scarlett to the mainframe of the island via random tree so Scarlett would be trying to study this before Sammy barfs all over the circuitry which leads to them being caught by Sugar. Shawn would then sacrifice himself for Jasmine’s sake to help her survive against the “zombies” and Jasmine would win immunity along with Sugar because of that.

When it comes to the vote, I highly doubt I need to explain who’s leaving since it’s obviously Dave and like canon, the island would start malfunctioning.

Episode 10: After Chris explains to the cast about how the island is artificial, Shawn and Jasmine would immediately pair up without hesitation much to Sammy’s shock and displeasure and Scarlett’s annoyance before it switches to glee and she pairs up with Sammy, leaving Sky with Sugar.

Since Scarlett has the map to the island and the remote she got from This Is The Pits, Sammy and Scarlett would probably find the control room pretty easily. I don’t think the remote would work against the electric door since I don’t want the remote to be too overpowered and it feels like the door would need to be opened by pressing in the code anyway.

I think Sammy would try guessing the code before getting electrocuted, before Scarlett decides to figure out the code herself which she is much more successful in since I think she’d be good with technology enough to get it right after a few shocks.

I debated on whether Scarlett would turn into a Saturday Morning Cartoon Villain here and I decided… she probably wouldn’t. Not only has Max left much earlier so she has had less opportunities to be pissed off by him, she also has a much more secure ally in Sammy and is likely confident she can win the game with the remote she already has. Plus Scarlett would probably use basic enough logic to know that Chris doesn’t give a shit about the other contestants on top of the stuff she already has so yeah, Scarlett would figure out the code and win invincibility for her and Sammy.

Next we have to talk about the vote, Sky and Sugar are in an alliance and in the minority so they’re likely both unsure on who to vote, but Scarlett likely presents them with the opportunity to vote off Shawn which they accept since Shasmine is a power couple but when they both ask how they plan to get Sammy’s vote and prevent a tie, Scarlett just wickedly smirks and says she has a perfect way to do so.

Scarlett would then talk to Sammy next and mention the idea about voting Shawn and when Sammy retorts that Jasmine wouldn’t like the idea, Scarlett argues that while Jasmine is their friend, she would very obviously choose Shawn over them to make the final two with her and that it’s the best for their game. Jasmine will understand, it is just a game, after all.

So in a 4-2 vote against Sugar, Shawn is eliminated which shocks Jasmine and she expresses her betrayal towards Sammy and Scarlett. Scarlett is unempathetic and just explains that it’s just a game while Sammy meekly responds that she figured Jasmine would understand to which Jasmine asks why would she understand her friend betraying her? Sammy, remorseful and dejected, doesn’t have a retort to that.

Jasmine soon walks Shawn off to the Cannon Of Shame and before Shawn is sent home, Shawn would express his love for Jasmine and tell her to go easy on Sammy. While what she did was wrong, she does seem remorseful for her actions, unlike Scarlett.

Also we have an all female final five. Honestly fitting considering what flawed players the males of this season are. Dave is literally the second best male when it comes to competing, let that sink in.

Episode 11: The beginning of the episode pretty much goes similar to canon for Sky and Sugar as they agree to continue their alliance from yesterday. As for Jasmine and Sammy, both of them are distraught over Sammy’s betrayal last elimination. Scarlett would try to comfort Sammy in the most pragmatic way possible by assuring Sammy that she did what was best for her game and Jasmine will eventually realize that.

However Sammy would be starting to question her morality in confessional since not only did she betray Jasmine, she’s also been keeping Scarlett’s cheating with the remote hidden. She’s starting to wonder if she’s just as awful as Amy.

During the challenge, I think the pairs would be Sky and Sugar, Sammy and Scarlett, while Jasmine goes off on her own. At first, Scarlett and Sammy would be blazing through the challenge’s obstacles thanks to Scarlett using the remote as an advantage before Sky and Sugar start to get wise to Sammy and Scarlett seemingly breezing through every obstacle until Sammy cracks and reveals that Scarlett has a remote that’s been helping her in challenges which makes Scarlett infuriated enough to use the remote on the robot crocodiles and try to attack the contestants and Chris for the million but since this is a cartoon, Sugar conveniently saves them with the power of her FARTS and blows up the crocodiles. Ughhhhhhh…. I question my life choices sometimes.

Because of what Scarlett tried to pull, Chris immediately disqualifies Scarlett along with Sammy with the excuse that she shouldn’t have let Scarlett’s “obvious evil” go on for as long as it did. Jasmine would try to protest against this, but Sammy assured her that it’s okay, and that she’s happy to have at least started making up for the crap she did while under Scarlett’s thumb. After a quick hug, Scarlett and Sammy are both eliminated with Scarlett being tied up so she doesn’t try to maul Sammy or anything.

Episode 12: So… other than Sky and Sugar’s rivalry being less heated in the first two challenges, I actually think this episode would go the exact same as canon. Jasmine would likely perform on the same level as Shawn did and I think she’d even choose the same challenge as him.

As for the talent show, I think Jasmine would do something involving taming a ravenous animal but it doesn’t matter how badly she does, Sugar is getting eliminated either way.

Episode 13: For the finale, I imagine Jasmine and Sky would get Sammy and Dave for their helpers and the reasons for that are kinda obvious for Sky but for Sammy, it’ll make more sense as we go on.

During the challenge, I think Jasmine and Sky would pretty much perform the same way as they did in canon but the difference is that Jasmine is competing as an actual finalist this time, while Sammy would take Shawn’s role most of the time but as a helper.

After Jasmine and Sky tie at the mud pit section, Chris would show Sky’s auction tape with Keith to Dave which makes him infuriated while showing Sammy some confessionals of all the hurtful things Jasmine has said about Sammy while Jasmine was still mad at her for eliminating Shawn. Sammy would obviously be hurt by this but not to the same extent as Dave. Regardless, I do think she’d participate with Dave in hindering Sky and Jasmine but she’d be MUCH less cruel in how harshly she treats them than Dave is.

After the ground rises above Jasmine and Sky and forms a mountain and Sky throws her tantrum, the avalanche still occurs and leaves the winner anonymous. Because Jasmine was more of the main protagonist in this story, I’ll give the winner ending to her where Jasmine and Sammy both apologize for their actions while Sky is a little bummed out she lost but is at least glad to lose to someone competent.

And thus, the season ends but with Sky and Dave sitting awkwardly at the helicopter together while Jasmine and Sammy are happy with Jasmine holding the million. Why did I spare Dave from getting mauled from a bear? Because it’s MY What If and I tend to treat finales more like a rewrite.

Chapter 2: What If Zee got eliminated in Pirates Of The Cabbagean

Notes:

When it comes to elimination options for Pirates of the Cabbagean, a lot of people tend to gravitate towards getting rid of Axel or Ripper but no one really talks about Zee as a potential elimination. Yeah, Axel and Ripper’s bickering can get very annoying but Zee literally cost their team the win and no one but Chase really cares enough about Ripper’s beef with Axel. So today I’m going to go over what I think would happen if Zee got eliminated instead of Axel.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Episode 2: For this elimination, the vote is pretty basic. Priya, Millie, Damien, and Scary Girl all vote for Zee, Ripper, Chase, and Zee vote for Axel, and Axel votes for Ripper. The reason I had the four people who voted for Zee vote for him in this AU is because Priya and Millie would both be upset with Zee for costing them a chance at a tie, Damien wouldn’t want to get involved in the Ripaxel beef, and Scary Girl is just upset with him for not ramming the ship. As such, Zee would be eliminated but no one is really mad at him so they do give him a nice farewell before leaving.

Episode 3: For the first part of the challenge, when Ripper tries to put him and Chase as the front-runners, claiming that he and Chase are the strongest, Axel would immediately intimidate him into letting her go first instead of Ripper which he meekly agrees to.

Because Axel would likely do really well on the course, I think Ripper would start to gain his crush on her like he did in season two, but since this is Season 1 Ripper, I imagine he’d deny it to appear more masculine.

In the end, the challenge doesn’t really change that much, the Ferocious Trout would still win because Nichelle is an absolute crybaby and gets sent home because of that.

Episode 4: Before the challenge, Priya and Millie would still form their alliance like they did in the show and I think they’d add Axel into the alliance instead of Scary Girl since between the two, Axel is less threatening.

During the challenge, Axel would probably insist on playing the offense with Priya and Millie but like them, she would be sprayed by the fire hose by Emma and once MK gains control of the shields, I doubt even Axel’s survival training would help her that much.

Like canon, Ripper would use Priya as a human shield to try and win the challenge but thanks to MK’s rigging and Scary Girl’s idiocy, MK would be able to lead Emma to the Ferocious Trouts’ skull and win immunity for the Frogs Of Death.

For the vote, I actually think Axel votes with Ripper and Chase to eliminate Scary Girl and unlike canon, Priya actually realizes what Millie and Axel did since Axel would just be blunt about the situation and rat out Millie for voting Scary Girl with the excuse that she lost the game for them.

Episode 5: Before the challenge, Millie would probably approach Priya at the cabins and apologize for voting Scary Girl, semi-remorseful about what she did but also wanting to stay on Priya’s good graces so she can stay on the island for her research, and I do think Priya would forgive her since while she does have extreme emotions, she’s also forgiving after some time passes. After that, the scene with Damien still happens but without Zee’s Button Man scene.

Meanwhile with Ripper, he’d sheepishly thank Axel for sparing him, considering their rivalry and all. Axel shrugs it off, saying that he was the most competent member of the team that day and there’s not much else to say about it. Ripper would actually feel a bit touched by Axel’s semi-compliment and his crush would start to develop more.

For the challenge, Chase and Axel would split off from the other four and when Chase asks Axel the same hypothetical question about how to get your girlfriend back after cutting her car brakes, Axel would just say: “I wouldn’t even try. The relationship is basically doomed to fail after that.”

Either way, they’d be the first ones to make it to the finish line for their team and because of Ripper, the Ferocious Trout would still lose the challenge but Damien still gets eliminated since he forgot to tell his teammates he wants to stay.

Episode 6: For this challenge, even if Axel doesn’t fling Ripper like Zee did in canon, I still believe even if Priya flings him even with her calculations, he’s gonna flop either way. Other than that, the challenge will pretty much go the same way as canon until the final act where Julia and Axel are both flung to the 10,000 point target and honestly… I don’t think Axel makes it. Even if she dumps out all her survival gear, Julia commented on how neither her or Zee would make it but Zee somehow broke the laws of gravity by getting rid of his prosthetic leg and I doubt Axel can pull a similar stunt so neither of them make it and because it takes less time to get to the 3,000 point target, MK makes it to the target and The Frogs Of Death would actually WIN this time.

Like canon, MK and Julia would still have their argument about Julia being an idiot and flinging herself to the 10,000 point mark and Julia can’t really argue with that since MK actually did fly this time and MK’s pretty logical after all.

As for the vote, Axel is clearly the swing vote. Chase and Ripper would approach Axel to vote off Millie since she’s clearly the weakest member of the team to which Axel says she’ll think about before Priya and Millie try and get Axel to vote off Ripper with them but Axel has a better idea…

At the elimination ceremony in a 3-2 vote… Chase is going home. The reason I say this is because Axel is starting to feel a little emotional attachment towards Ripper now and she doesn’t want him gone compared to Chase who is just a nuisance to be around. The reason I didn’t have Axel vote off Millie is because Axel seems like the type who would value challenge performance and Millie actually did well in this challenge while Chase just screamed and fainted.

Episode 7: At this point, the teams are now merged and since Chase and Zee are gone, we need new pairs. Priya and Millie, Bowie and Emma, and Wayne and Raj are all lock-in pairings which leaves Julia, MK, Ripper, and Axel and I actually think Axel and Ripper pair up, leaving Julia and MK with each other.

During the challenge, I think the Priya and Millie stuff stays the same as canon and so do Wayne and Raj’s antics, along with the BowRaj kiss. However, Julia would be talking to MK about teaming up to which MK raises an eyebrow before Julia reminds her that even if they don’t have the highest opinion of each other, the rest of their teammates are basically Bowie’s minions and Priya and Millie already seem to be close. That’s enough for MK to agree with Julia’s alliance offer.

Since Chase is no longer here, Julia would want to target Ripper or Axel for an easy vote but MK brings up it’d probably be a better idea to try and get Raj eliminated since he’s pretty close to Wayne and Bowie which Julia is okay with. As for Ripper and Axel, I think Axel would try and teach Ripper to camouflage so they can try and steal the cassowary eggs and it actually ends up being pretty successful but since Ripper ends up spiking his egg to the ground, Axel wins immunity.

Axel and Ripper are then approached by Julia with the offer to vote off Raj and since they have no reason not to, they’d agree to voting for him since by her logic, Bowie’s alliance is pretty powerful, although they don't even need to bother voting for him since the Hockey Bros are medically evacuated like canon.

Episode 8: For this challenge, we now have MK and Axel instead of Chase and Zee. I imagine MK would barf sometime after Bowie and Millie, while Emma barfs shortly afterwards. The final three of the challenge would likely still be Ripper, Axel, and Julia, and I honestly doubt Julia would be able to make it to the final round, even if she tries sabotaging Axel since Axel is a lot smarter and more skilled than Zee, if anything this would just make Axel hate Julia.

And now, we get to the final round between Ripper and Axel where they both have to race to finish a tapeworm and while Ripper could win this, I think he’d be too distracted by the possibility of kissing Axel like he was with Julia in canon to be fully in the zone so Axel wins immunity instead and Ripper realizes his crush on her while Axel also feels sorta awkward about the possibility of nearly kissing Ripper.

The vote would pretty much be a 4-3-1 vote and the loser would be Julia. The reason I say this is because Bowie, Emma, Ripper, and Axel would all vote for her and while Priya, Millie, Julia, and MK could theoretically vote for Ripper to tie the votes, Priya voted off Millie in the original just to scare her a bit. So yeah, Julia ends up going home but she and MK would leave on better terms than canon since MK would be the only one to see Julia off.

Episode 9: Instead of the beginning of the episode focusing on everyone attempting to form majority alliances with Zee, it would begin with MK looking at the confessionals to see what went wrong in the votes last elimination as it should've been a tie before seeing Priya’s confessional about voting for Millie. MK would be pretty annoyed by this since this elimination cost her an ally, but I think she holds off on targeting Priya since out of everyone left, Priya and Millie are her best options as allies so like Julia, she would approach them for an alliance which they would accept easier since while MK is snarky but she’s inoffensive enough.

As for everyone else, Bowie would probably start feeling concerned about the amount of duos left in this game, especially since all of them are from the Ferocious Trout, so he plans to split them up.

For the challenge, I imagine the stuff with Prillie stays the same as canon but as for everyone else, Emma, Ripper, and MK would basically be the punching bags of this episode while Axel powers through pretty much all the obstacles similar to Julia in canon while Bowie pretty much hides behind Axel and the other three as a shield so he can sweep in and ring the bell for immunity.

At the end of the day, I believe Axel and Bowie would probably end up fighting for the bell to win immunity but we all know how that’s going to end. I imagine Bowie would put up a good fight, but in the end, Axel is pretty much unbeatable so she wins immunity.

Since Bowie’s ego would be bruised by Axel making a fool out of him, I think he’d approach the rest of the girls with the offer of voting off Ripper. Neither of them would have any objections to this and vote him off. Axel would then see Ripper and admit it’s been fun competing with him to which he agrees with a blush before being carried out by the drone via wedgie.

Episode 10: The beginning of the episode would showcase Prillie hiking up the mountain like in canon. Meanwhile with the others, Axel would be glaring Bowie because it’s clear he caused Ripper’s elimination, which he just smugly smirks at since even though Axel’s intimidating, he’s never shown much fear when it comes to her. He’s smart enough to not get confrontational with her though. Emma is concerned about this conflict but MK’s enjoying all of the drama.

During the challenge, I imagine Priya would fall due to her dehydration like canon. As for the others, I imagine once Emma starts getting all “Punch Punch” mode, she and Axel would start arguing since Axel would remark how stupid Emma’s acting and when she threatens to punch Axel in her delirious state, both of them would wrestle each other off their poles, so both of them are out.

As for the other three, I think MK would do pretty well in the challenge due to her laid back attitude. I did consider if she’d take the money temptation but if CHASE and JULIA didn’t take the offer, I doubt MK would either. As for who wins immunity in the end, I think it’s Bowie. Millie did put a decent effort in the challenge but I can see her cracking eventually and while MK would do well, I do think she’d take the pizza temptation since pizza’s good and she wants to fly under the radar, plus she would actually be okay with Bowie winning immunity because she has a different target in mind.

For the vote, Axel and Emma are obviously both voting for each other and Bowie would join Emma in voting Axel but the other three would vote off Emma since she’s not only a physical threat but her alliance with Bowie makes her a bigger threat.

Episode 11: For this challenge, I think MK would be sticking with Priya and Millie the whole time and watches them as they get closer, starting to view their friendship as a threat. During the portions where Priya’s life is put in danger by a crocodile and a bear, MK would be too cowardly to try and save her so Millie does so like canon.

Meanwhile Bowie and Axel would be going off on their own and while Bowie suffers his canonical fate of being tossed around by the animals, ultimately Axel would end up winning immunity since her only real competition is MK since Priya, Millie, and Bowie all broke their phones.

Before elimination, Bowie would be trying to search for dirt on his fellow contestants since he knows he’s on the chopping block tonight and ends up finding MK’s phone, the stuff she stole, and Millie’s notebook. The reason I feel he’d find MK’s phone is because she has shown to leave the phone in her bunk during elimination ceremonies which is how Julia was able to find the phone in canon. Bowie would then expose MK for watching the confessionals before they vote and while MK would defend herself by saying Bowie was the one who came over here with that stuff, I do think Priya and Millie would believe Bowie over MK since MK isn’t exactly the nicest person in the world and she’s not as close with them as they are with each other. I still think Axel would vote for Bowie though but in a 3-2 vote, MK is eliminated but MK warns Priya that there’s more to Millie than she realizes, alluding to the notebook.

Episode 12: For the beginning of the episode, Bowie and Axel would both be making their appeals to Priya and Millie on siding with them against each other which I think Bowie would win out on since Bowie did expose MK’s confessional strategy and Axel has let Priya and Millie down plenty of times.

During the challenge, I think Axel would pretty much be in a 1v3 against Priya, Millie, and Bowie since unlike Julia, she wouldn’t even entertain the thought of working with Bowie. I do think Bowie would suggest to Priya not to throw the tokens at Millie so I feel they’d have more tokens than they originally did. I do think Axel would pull a similar stunt to Julia where she tells the trio about the last few tokens out of cockiness which leads to them finding the giant amount of tokens in the sea monster so Priya wins immunity like in the show and Axel is eliminated in a 3-1 vote, leading to Bowie exposing Millie’s notebook like canon.

Episode 13: At this point, everything remains the same as canon since we have the same finalists and the same storyline. Sure Julia wouldn’t hate Bowie as much as she originally did but he was someone who voted against her at her elimination so I can see their banter being the same as canon. So Priya still wins like in the original.

Notes:

So not a lot changed thanks to Zee’s early departure but some stuff that did change was that Julia and Chase had way earlier departures while MK and Axel got further and MKulia and AxeRipper have started to get close which builds up their season two dynamic. Another thing to mention is that Bowie and Emma are still friends which is also a bit of a game changer.

Chapter 3: What If Lake returned instead of Connor?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Episode 11: After Ashley lassoes Alec and Fiore, Connor and Riya’s lack of teamwork causes both to fall into the ocean instead of across the finish line like they did in canon. Since Aiden and Lake were the closest to reaching the challenge zone despite their slow bike, they actually get enough time to show up to the chaos and Aiden decides to steal Alec’s wrench to fix up the glider. Yul tries to stop him but Lake honors Rosa’s request and kicks him in the nuts. Since Alec and Fiore have no way of catching up, this means Lake returns to the game and Aiden wins immunity alongside her.

Episode 12: Now that Lake’s back in the game, Alec and Riya still come up with the plan to keep the Jake and Ally divide going so that the heroes don’t come together. As for Lake, she urges Aiden to talk with Jake before the challenge and because of that, Jake apologizes but instead of dismissing his apology like an idiot, Aiden agrees to form a truce for now.

The challenge plays out similarly to the original with Riya still giving Ally the flag and now that she doesn’t have guaranteed immunity, Ally has even more reason to trust her. When Jake, Aiden, and Lake encounter each other, the wolf scene still plays out similarly to canon just with Lake helping Jake and Aiden out. This begins re-establishing Jake and Aiden’s trust in each other.

When Jake begins fighting Grett and Yul for the flag, Lake and Aiden sneak up on the fight and grab the flag themselves but they wouldn’t get the idea to hide it behind their shorts like Connor did, so when Alec encounters them, he tries to overpower the duo for the flag but he just barely falls short of doing so since Lake is a bit of a challenge beast and with Aiden also trying to hold Alec back, I can see them being able to keep him at bay for just long enough before the timer runs out. Lake wins immunity and per the challenge rules, gives it to Jake for helping her and Aiden with the wolf, much to his and Ally’s shock, but it’s for very different reasons but I can see Lake inviting Ally to the dinner as a way to not show any biases.

After the challenge, Lake rallies up the heroes together in an attempt to vote Alec off since he’s the clear leader of the Villains’ Alliance while the Villains’ still vote for Tom like canon. The tiebreaker still happens and since Alec has the double knot technique, he clearly wins this tie. Tom still leaves promising Jake he’ll clear things up.

Episode 13: As Lake and Ally are at the dinner, Ally begins asking Lake on why she gave Jake the extra immunity and Lake explains that she sees Jake is trying to become a better person and he helped her and Aiden evade the wolf in the last challenge. Ally’s a little surprised when Lake mentions this which allows Lake to advise her that Ally should give Jake a chance to right his wrongs to which Ally is reluctant to do given how much they argue with each other but she awkwardly says she’ll think about it. Aiden overhears this conversation and becomes doubtful about Ally’s loyalty.

As for the Villains’ Alliance, while Gabby and Grett are focusing on getting Grett to break up with Yul, Alec and Riya begin discussing more strategy. The two of them can easily tell that their alliance is becoming very unstable due to Yul’s conflicts with Gabby and Grett now that they aren’t busy with the kiss conflict so they begin discussing on getting future allies and Riya brings up she’s been thinking about getting Ally to flip which Alec likes the idea of.

For the challenge, I have no idea what Lake’s super power would be so I decided to keep the super strength ability since she likes to write about princes and knights and they’re pretty strong. So the challenge basically goes the same way as canon, just with some more Ally and Lake bonding moments instead of Connor and Ally.

Jake and Aiden still win the challenge and Yul obviously still goes home but this time Alec and Riya don’t bother saving him since Connor’s no longer here to potentially flip out over a drunken kiss they shared. Plus they have hope Ally will flip anyway.

Episode 14: For the beginning of the challenge, Alec and Riya still have a meeting with Grett and Gabby about staying loyal to each other now that Yul’s gone but this time Grett and Gabby have more reason to do so since Alec and Riya never voted to keep Yul. However, Grett and Gabby don’t trust the two that much since Alec and Riya never really stepped in to defend Grett. Nonetheless, Riya still attempts to manipulate Ally while she’s stretching, something Lake sees behind a tree when she was getting ready to talk to her.

As for the Heroes’ Alliance, Aiden and Lake are both trying to get Jake and Ally to talk with the other about their issues and while Jake is more willing to make things right with Ally, Ally is a little more conflicted thanks to Riya’s manipulations, something Lake is aware of but decides not to mention.

During the challenge, the pairings are going to change a little. Yes, I’m aware Kristal could easily pair Lake with Alec due to her own family history and Alec being a piece of shit, but it’s canon that Lake is Kristal’s favorite contestant and probably wouldn’t want to give Lake any traumatic flashbacks. So instead, the pairings are:

Grett and Gabby- Kristal wants to milk the new friendship for all it’s worth.

Riya and Lake- If Kristal can’t pair Lake with Alec, she can at least cause an awkward reunion.

Aiden and Ally- Aiden has doubts about Ally’s loyalty to the heroes.

Alec and Jake- Past history in Season 1.

During the challenge, Riya and Lake would be having an awkward reunion where Riya awkwardly decides to ask Lake about Rosa and Connor since she lives with the former and has been in the Losers Motel with the latter. Lake explains that Rosa is doing well thanks to James splitting the money with her and Connor is less than happy about how things ended with him and Riya. Riya tries to use her evil mask to pretend she doesn’t care but Lake can see right through it and says: “Y’know, if you ever wanted to talk to either of them again, all they really want is for you to say you’re sorry.”

As for Aiden and Ally, the former begins questioning the latter about if she’s thought about talking to Jake which begins annoying Ally since Aiden wouldn’t be as graceful about the situation as Lake is and she begins ranting about how much Jake has been mistreating her since Fiore’s elimination. Aiden totally understands it and he also doesn’t trust Jake even if they’re on good terms but it’s better to mend bridges instead of breaking them. Ally is left conflicted over this. Aiden also wouldn’t let Ally redo her TikToks and just tell her that he’s watched James do TikToks before and her performance was good which might ease Ally’s insecurities.

Alec tries to manipulate Jake as they travel with each other but Jake is having none of it after all the drama he’s caused in this season and rants about how much of a holier than thou jerk he is, saying that he feels bad that his wife and son had to deal with his bullshit. This ends up waking up the bear which leads them to hiding until Alec finds the golden watch. Because of Alec’s planning skills, he’s able to shine a bright light into the bear’s eyes as Jake distracts it before they both turn the watch in to Kristal. Jake awkwardly thanks Alec for saving him to which Alec slightly smiles at the praise. Alec later admits in a confessional that while he could’ve left Jake to fend for himself, he wasn’t exactly wrong about how he treated his wife and son, recalling the sandbox incident with a saddened look in his eyes.

As for Riya and Lake, Riya still sabotages the boats much to Lake’s disgust but there’s not much she can do to stop it. In the end, it comes down to Aiden and Ally and Grett and Gabby on who gets last and while Gabby did drop Grett’s phone originally, there wouldn’t be as much urgency to get to the dock since Aiden and Ally wouldn’t use the shark trick Alec did in canon so they end up getting Grett’s phone but this still wastes enough time for both groups to be neck and neck but while Gabby and Grett are likely faster runners, I can see Ally picking up Aiden by the back of his shirt and carrying him to the finish line so he doesn’t slow them down.

Because of this, it all comes down to Grett and Gabby on who goes home and since Grett has shown to have more impressive dance moves than Gabby, I still think Gabby ends up being the one who gets eliminated.

Episode 15: In the beginning of the episode, Aiden and Lake end up getting Jake and Ally together so they can apologize to each other. Things are definitely awkward for sure but in the end, they’re able to get through it without arguing and agree to form a truce.

When the totem gets announced, Riya goes back to her usual antics of trying to flip Ally to her side. Ally admits that she and Jake made up… somewhat but Riya decides to remind Ally that if it comes down to the final four, the other heroes will choose to prioritize each other over her and while this does strike a chord with Ally, she also brings up how it could easily go the same way if she flips to the Villains. Riya disagrees since she admits she’s noticed Grett slipping after Yul got out and while she respects Alec, she doesn’t trust him. Ally admits she’ll consider siding with them.

Jake is seen looking for the totem in the water of all places, Alec approaches him, aghast by his decision to search there of all places even when Jake explains his logic. Alec decides to dismiss that and asks Jake if he would consider voting for Ally and while Jake is tempted by the offer, he’s skeptical and asks Alec to explain. Alec reminds Jake that Ally doesn’t trust him and she could easily get Aiden to distrust him as well after his past actions. This causes Jake to get a bit paranoid and he tells Alec he’ll think about the offer.

In a confessional, Alec admits that early on, he didn’t give a rat’s ass about Jake but after their experience together in the cave, Jake has given him a reason to reflect on his actions and where he went wrong in life. Nonetheless, he still needs to flip Jake against Ally so that he’s more willing to join an alliance with him and Riya. Alec then blanks a bit once he realizes how weird it is that he intends to protect Riya from a vote.

Aiden and Lake begin searching for the totem together where Aiden admits to Lake that while he and Jake have been okay, he still doesn’t trust him or Ally to stay by their side forever and that they should start making their own moves. Lake disagrees, believing it’s better to trust Jake and Ally than the other villains.

Just as they’re having this conversation, Grett talks to the duo about where the totem is and that she’ll tell them if they return the favor later on. Lake is skeptical but Aiden accepts the deal before she can say anything and explains that it’s in the tree. Lake ends up getting the totem for herself and while she does consider telling Jake and Ally about it, Aiden convinced her not to.

During the challenge, Jake and Ally don’t ask any personal questions about each other due to their truce and so the challenge is basically a heroes vs villains on who can get into the others’ head the most. Aiden falls quickly like he did in canon and Lake doesn’t last much longer since while she is a challenge beast, the majority of the villains would be targeting her with Riya asking her who she prefers between Jake and Ally, she obviously prefers Jake but lies and says she has no preference, worrying Jake and Ally on where Lake’s loyalties truly lie.

Soon enough, Ally and Alec begin targeting each other while Jake and Riya also begin targeting each other since both Alec and Riya want to avoid targeting the hero they plan to flip, which annoys Riya. Grett’s a wild card in this situation since she would barely get any questions. The final two comes down between Jake and Grett and since Jake is more open and honest, he wins the challenge with Aiden and Lake celebrating his victory.

The Heroes’ Alliance meets up after the challenge and they all agree to target Alec due to him leading the Villains’ Alliance. Aiden does want to get rid of Riya but Lake still has a soft spot for her and doesn’t approve of Alec’s parenting methods so Aiden relents. This makes Jake and Ally both uneasy for different reasons.

Now that Jake’s won immunity, Ally is unsure about switching sides as she doesn’t want to target Lake or Aiden but after Grett makes her offer to Ally about a final two deal, Ally’s decision becomes clear. Alec also talks to Jake about voting for Ally to which he reluctantly agrees since while he has less problems with Ally now, he still can’t trust her.

At elimination, it becomes a 3-2-2 vote with Aiden getting eliminated with Jake and Ally both admitting to flipping on each other, both feeling somewhat remorseful about it. Alec is also shocked that Riya and Grett decided to vote for Aiden instead of Ally like they planned but Riya tells him that it’s better for strategy.

Both Lake and Jake see Aiden off with Jake much more apologetic to Aiden than he was in canon since this time he is partially to blame for Aiden going home. Aiden’s not mad though, since it’s clear Jake never meant to betray HIM specifically and they still end things off with a fist bump.

The episode then ends off with Lake stating in a confessional that Aiden had a point about not putting full trust in Jake and Ally and while she still likes them as people, she realizes that she has to pull her own moves from now on.

Episode 16: The episode begins with Jake and Ally sending each other awkward looks as Ally goes to hang out with Grett and Riya. As for Jake, he tries to apologize to Lake about Aiden going home and while Lake forgives him, she has to brush him off as she’s been thinking about her own strategies.

With Grett, Riya, and Ally, all three of them begin discussing Alec’s betrayal at the last ceremony and Ally wants him gone for nearly getting her kicked off. Grett agrees to this since Alec was dismissive towards Yul’s treatment of her although she doesn’t say that in front of Riya, and while Riya pretends to agree, she wants Grett gone so the drama between Jake, Alec, and Ally can fester. Plus she still has a soft spot for Alec.

After this conversation, Riya begins conversing with Alec about how Grett and Ally want him gone and he begins getting worried about his fate in the game but Riya reassures him that all they need to do is get Jake and Lake to vote for Grett. At this point, Riya and Alec can tell that there are sparks between each other and both begin feeling guilty because of Connor, though Riya masks it in confessional by saying she can’t be distracted by Alec.

During the challenge, there’s no infighting between Jake and Ally but since Jake absolutely sucked at climbing this challenge, he’s ineligible to win this challenge. As for the other five, Riya wouldn’t cheat off of Alec as to keep him on her side but as for who wins this challenge, Grett still wins since she did originally and share the award with Ally since she can’t exactly share beer with Lake who is literally a minor.

Riya is infuriated at the fact Grett won immunity as she intended to get the votes to get her eliminated but now she has to attempt to flip the target on Jake instead and tries to convince Grett and Ally by saying Jake can rally Alec and Lake to vote against them and that if they take Jake out, they have a free pass to the final three. Ally is okay with this idea but Grett is more skeptical so she pretends to agree to this but in secret, wants to cash in her favor with Lake.

As for Lake herself, she decides to ask Grett about who she’s voting for since out of everyone, she still has a deal going on with Grett and can hopefully use that to her advantage to find out who’s being targeted and if she should use her totem. Grett smirks when Lake does this and admits that the girls are targeting Jake tonight and she should use her totem on him tonight. Grett also tells Lake that she wants her and Jake to vote for Alec tonight as she has the most vendetta against him.

In the end, Lake is able to convince Jake to go along with this plan despite his distrust of Grett, and Lake uses her totem on Jake so all four votes nullified against him don’t count(Riya got Alec to reluctantly vote against Jake), so with two votes, Alec is eliminated. Alec desperately asks if anyone is going to say goodbye and while Riya wants to, she just gives him an awkward wave. Alec sighs before leaving but before he can go, Jake offers him a handshake like Connor did which makes Alec smile sadly at him and say: “You really did change, huh?” before heading to the Bus Of Losers.

Episode 17: After receiving their letters from home, Riya and Ally read their letters together like they did in canon which makes Riya feel really guilty, especially since Alec just recently went home. Lake and Jake decide to read their letters together where the two bond over their less than ideal family lives after Jake confesses about what his parents did. Lake also gets two letters, one from Rosa and one from her parents. Lake nearly tears up at the one from her parents before looking at Rosa’s and deciding to rip the letter from her parents’ in half.

For the challenge, everyone gets the same horse they got in canon. Bojack still causes Riya to get stuck in a tree so Lake ends up saving her instead of Connor but unlike Connor, she drops Riya off before continuing the race on her own. This only makes Riya even more confused on what to do with her life.

In the end, it comes down to Jake and Grett on who wins immunity since Grett wouldn’t slow down since Ally’s not as suspicious of her as she was originally but I decided Grett would be easier on Autumn since she’s pregnant so Jake just barely wins the challenge.

For the vote, Jake and Lake decide to work together for this vote and since they don’t trust Grett, decide to talk to Ally about the vote and explain that Lake knew to use the totem on Jake because Grett told her to. Ally is shocked by this but can’t really make a counter argument against that but at the same time… Riya and Grett seem more likely to turn against each other than against Ally so in a 3-2 vote, Ally decides to vote with Grett and Riya in eliminating Lake. Lake is disappointed in the result and tells Ally to beware of Riya and Grett who both pale at this warning.

Episode 18: Like canon, Ally still decides to make her real-life board game to bond with the remaining three players left. Grett and Riya both agree to this, if only to try and appease Ally to vote with them instead of the other. By now, Grett and Riya are fully intent on backstabbing one another and getting Ally to flip against each other. As for Jake, he decides that he needs to lock in and try to find a way to get Ally on his side.

The challenge doesn’t change much except Ally gets Hunter’s clothes instead of Ashley’s since there’s no longer much drama Derek and Kristal need to fuel when Riya and Grett are already about to backstab each other.

In the challenge, there’s so much infighting between Jake, Riya, and Grett that Ally manages to slip by and win the final immunity. Jake finally decides enough is enough and finally swallows his pride to genuinely apologize to Ally for what he put her through which Ally is shocked by but is willing to forgive him for.

As for the vote, Riya and Grett vote for each other and after talking things out with Ally, they both realize Riya’s the bigger threat due to her past finalist status. Ally apologizes to Riya for voting her out but while Riya’s annoyed, she admits Ally played well and even mockingly wishes Grett luck in facing Jake and Ally. Grett realizes that she’ll need Ally’s help more than ever if she wants to get rid of Jake.

Episode 19: Some dynamics are changed a bit at the motel now that Grett’s in the game instead of Riya.

Connor and Fiore have been helping Alec get on the right track after he got booted. Riya has also been hanging around Alec since they never had their fallout. Connor feels awkward about it but he’s had enough time to come to terms with it after watching the episodes. He just hopes Riya doesn’t hurt Alec.

As for Yul, he doesn’t get a barbecue facial since Grett’s no longer here but he and Gabby do end up feuding about Grett’s chances of winning this episode.

As for Lake, not much has changed with her. While she is a little disappointed in how Jake and Ally cost Aiden the game, she can’t be too mad after seeing them help each other take out Riya.

Once the totem hunting challenge is announced, things change a little. Riya and Connor are grouped with Alec and Fiore to find the totem at the palm trees and while Alec and Connor are busy making sure Tom doesn’t get the totem, Riya and Fiore frantically dig for the first totem which Riya finds first.

As for the second totem, since James isn’t distracted by Yul, he ends up joining Aiden and Lake in finding the second totem so when Aiden and Nina end up causing the second totem to fall, Yul ends up finding it by sheer luck when it falls atop his head.

Gabby and Ellie actually focus on looking for a totem now that Grett is one of the finalists and Ellie would remind Gabby that she doesn’t have a lot of supporters on her side and so they find the totem on the stairs. Gabby recommends that Ellie should take it so that she can be acquainted with Grett and so she does.

Soon enough, Riya gets to decide who she’s helping first and decides to pick Ally since Grett’s the reason Alec got kicked off and she never talked much with Jake. Yul wants to make sure Grett doesn’t win while also getting money for himself so he picks Jake out of spite, which all of Team Jake is worried by. This leaves Ellie with Grett by default. Riya then decides to give Grett the disadvantage since she thinks Yul being left with Jake is already a major disadvantage on it’s own.

Episode 20: For those who are wondering, here is who the Peanut Gallery that aren’t the helpers are rooting for-

Team Jake: Lake, Alec, Aiden, Tom, Ashley, Connor, Miriam, James

Team Ally: Tess, Fiore, Hunter

Team Grett: Gabby

As for the challenge, Grett and Ellie start talking more and while Ellie is distrustful at first, Grett apologizes to Ellie for how she treated her and Gabby back in Season 1 and that Gabby didn’t deserve what Grett put her through. This gets Ellie to soften up a bit. The two begin finding ways to mine gems with their penalty and I think Grett would try smashing rocks to get more gems.

As for Jake and Yul, they do NOT get along whatsoever as Yul constantly makes misogynistic comments about Grett and continually bashes her. Ally and Riya just continue getting closer as friends and Riya vents to Ally about not wanting to hurt people with her villain status which Ally relates to and advises that she talks to Rosa, Alec, and Connor about it.

When the scorpions get released, all three finalists get slowed down equally from the boulders. As the finalists and their helpers begin climbing out the caves, Yul begins trying to sabotage Grett by stealing her gems but Jake has enough and physically restrains him, urging Grett and Ally to go on. The two end up doing so and this causes Jake’s elimination. Yul demands to know why Jake gave up on such an easy win which Grett also asks, shocked Jake was willing to do that for her. Jake admits he doesn’t need to win to prove he’s changed and what matters is that he actually improves, hence why he prevented Yul from sabotaging her so he wouldn’t get the last laugh. Both Ally and Grett hug him before Jake decides to join the Peanut Gallery, where Tom praises Jake for what he did.

Episode 21: Since Ellie and Riya can no longer help them, Grett chooses Gabby and Jake to be her new helpers, Gabby for obvious reasons and Jake to thank him for last episode. Ally chooses Hunter and Tess for obvious reasons.

Since the poly trio is a much more effective team than Grett’s group, they’re able to protect Ally long enough for Grett to get the disadvantage.

For the final duel, it really comes down to whether Grett’s brute strength or Ally’s speed is able to net them a win so I decided to go with bias and gave Ally the win, since I want her to be able to move out from her mother’s house and because Grett’s arc gets a happy ending whether she wins or not.

Notes:

I really liked this What If. I thought Riya and Alec’s dynamic was way better here and I liked the changes I made to Jake and Ally’s feud but let me know what you think.

Chapter 4: What If Derek didn’t expose the voting confessionals

Chapter Text

Episode 8: In this episode, Derek actually listens to Trevor and doesn’t expose the confessionals since he feels the campers learning Fiore’s true nature themselves is more entertaining. The vote is still revealed to be a 6-2 vote against Gabby. Ellie is furious that Alec betrayed her again because she can count and it’s clear Alec voted for Gabby. Miriam raises an eyebrow at this interaction and makes a mental note to keep an eye on Alec.

Ellie still walks Gabby towards the Bus of Losers and the two of them still have their big romantic moment where they basically confess their feelings for each other and kiss once the bus arrives.

Episode 9: The night after Gabby gets eliminated, the BETA Villains’ Alliance talks about how to survive the next elimination and all recognize that Jake, Tom, and Miriam are a powerful trio and a major threat. They all agree that they need to bring Ellie back to their side since her vote is what they need to dismantle that trio. Alec is a bit hesitant to ask Ellie for her vote again since she has made it clear she is pissed with him but Fiore and Grett dismiss his worries with Grett breaking down like she did in canon about her motivation to win the money which leads Fiore to give Alec and Grett the same pep talk she did in canon.

During this time, Ellie is seen sitting on the bench to the Bus Of Losers all by herself where Jake ends up finding her, asking her how she’s doing. Ellie wonders why he cares since she just tried to oust Tom but Jake admits that he also targeted her girlfriend so he has no room to judge. Plus he’s concerned for Ellie after seeing her snap at Alec the way she did.

Ellie then opens up to Jake about her time on Purple Team, how she and Alec formed an alliance at first due to the four person alliance ganging up on them. She tells Jake that Alec and Fiore will likely deny this but Fiore had been pulling the strings to cause Will, Nick, Lill, and Ashley’s eliminations. Ellie admits she sided with them at first so she can get further in the game and because she trusted Alec, but he constantly proved how trustworthy he truly was when he backstabbed her for Fiore, not once but twice.

Jake is shocked to hear all this, and while he does have doubts about Fiore truly being an evil little girl, some of the stuff Ellie told him does have weight. Why else would Alec betray a Day 1 ally over a little girl who would likely hinder him in challenges? Jake promises that no matter what happens, he’ll try to make sure Alec goes home though he admits he can’t promise anything about Fiore since her situation is hard to believe. Ellie can work with that.

By morning, Jake and Tom still have the same conversation about Tom’s scars like they did in canon and become a couple. Meanwhile Alec tries his luck in speaking to Ellie again about the vote.

She nearly dismisses him at first but Alec reminds Ellie that Miriam and Tom don’t trust her right now and have been gunning for her ever since she swapped for no reason. At least with Alec, he didn’t really have much of a choice since he had to pick between two allies and he had a bond with Fiore. Ellie annoyedly admits that she’ll consider Alec’s offer which Alec appreciates and tells her for what it’s worth, he truly is sorry about Gabby.

Like canon, the final seven are put in a zombie apocalypse virtual simulation. Instead of Ellie volunteering to go scour the campgrounds outside the cabin, Jake decides to do so. During this time, Alec takes the time to whisper to Fiore and Ellie separately about them being in a simulation, he does this so he can regain Ellie’s favor and to further establish trust with Fiore. Grett and Miriam notice Alec talking to Fiore and Ellie respectively and become suspicious and while Alec’s excuse of wondering why the hosts drugged them works on Grett, Miriam is not so easily convinced.

After Jake and Tom return with a zombie bite on Jake’s arm, everyone begins to panic. When Tom suggests cutting Jake’s arm off, Ellie and Miriam immediately protest because even if Alec told Ellie this was a simulation, Ellie doesn’t want to take any chances of Jake ACTUALLY getting hurt, but Jake agrees to it with the logic that if this is all fake, Jake shouldn’t be hurt. After that, zombies begin infiltrating the cabin causing everyone to run away.

Jake turns into a zombie similar to Ellie in canon, horrifying Tom and Miriam as they split off into a duo. Ellie doesn’t join them since Alec is planning on keeping her from dying this challenge so she sticks with the evil trio. Ellie is now coping heavily with the idea this is a simulation as a way to have hope that Jake is still alive. After the four of them reach the cave, Alec finally decides to tell Grett about this world being a simulation which she’s kinda relieved by since she doesn’t want to be fighting zombies for her entire life.

As for Miriam and Tom, Miriam is still mourning the loss of Jake but unlike how she was in the beginning of the season, she realizes that she cannot allow Jake’s life to be in vain like she almost did with her husband and father. After Miriam boldly declares this to Tom, Fiore fake cries for help and at first, they believe her when she says Grett, Ellie, and Alec got bit but due to their minor suspicions of the little girl and it being an apocalypse, they correctly assume this is a trap and this leads to an all-out brawl between Miriam, Tom, Alec, and Grett, the latter two who were trying to sneak attack them. Miriam and Grett are taken out easily thanks to Alec and Tom’s shooting skills respectively. Tom would still go after Fiore in a similar vein as canon but due to Alec’s attempts to save her, he gets shot by Tom instead while Fiore escapes.

Tom then begins to chase Fiore but before he can do anything, Ellie comes up from behind and uses her axe to stab and kill him. While Ellie is distracted by how gross the whole situation is, Fiore takes the time to smugly thank her before offering herself to Ellie so she can win immunity. Ellie is confused by this but Fiore just straight up explains that she owes Ellie for getting Gabby eliminated so Ellie reluctantly kills Fiore and wins immunity.

Once everyone wakes up in the real world, Alec explains how he knew that they were in the VR simulation the whole time and told Fiore, Grett, and Ellie about it so they could take Miriam and Tom out. Jake is shocked by this and asks Ellie why she’d work with Alec’s group after what he did. Ellie guiltily but angrily explains that while Alec and Fiore have caused her problems, they only targeted her when there were no other options and have helped her when needed. All Tom and Miriam have done is target her for barely any justified reasons outside of being new. Miriam looks guilty when she hears this. Jake reminds her that Alec and Fiore blindsided her to get Gabby out and they could easily do the same to her, casting doubt on Ellie.

However, this isn’t enough to counter a 4-3 vote against Tom who just barely gets eliminated instead of Alec. Tom and Jake share a fond farewell before heading to the Bus of Losers where Gabby is waiting, she needs to talk to him about something.

Episode 10: Miriam and Jake are both sad that Tom is gone but Miriam encourages Jake that they need to keep fighting and that starts by flipping Ellie back to their side. Jake may be a little upset she voted for Tom but her reasons WERE understandable at the end of the day.

As for the Villains’ Alliance, they are all celebrating the fact that they were able to take out Tom… well, Fiore and Grett are at least. Ellie’s a little more concerned about her chances since Alec and Fiore are untrustworthy as hell. Once Alec offers to go collect food with Ellie, the librarian reassures Ellie that she did the right thing in getting rid of Tom since Jake would always prioritize him over her and Tom had done nothing but hurt Ellie anyway. Ellie somewhat clings to this validation but can’t help feeling dirty about this. As for Fiore and Grett, the two of them begin talking about whether they can trust Ellie or not and agree that the only thing stopping Ellie from being loyal to them is Jake so that’s their next target.

Once the challenge is announced, the villains agree to split into two pairs with Alec and Ellie as one pair and Grett and Fiore as another with the latter two informing Alec and Ellie of the plan to eliminate Jake, which makes Ellie even more conflicted.

Jake tries to talk to Ellie during the challenge but Alec is usually nearby but in the end, Jake decides “Screw it” and just tells them both about his and Miriam’s campaign to target Grett or Fiore since the two of them are openly malicious and will likely backstab them when possible. Jake also points out how close the two villainesses are. Alec is conflicted until Ellie tells him they should hear Jake out since he is right about Grett and Fiore getting more cocky and bonding more.

Alec knows that Ellie is being somewhat emotional in her decision making since Jake is her friend but decides that they should target Grett for her threat level. Ellie rolls her eyes since she knows the real reason Alec is sparing Fiore but chooses not to comment.

Since Ellie and Alec are preoccupied with Jake and Miriam’s pretty slow, Grett and Fiore end up finding the clue to the immunity totem. Grett tells Fiore that she’ll find the totem while she continues on in the challenge which makes Fiore pout at first before Grett reminds her that between the two, Grett is the better digger so Fiore reluctantly goes along with these terms.

As for how the challenge would go, Alec would win immunity and Grett would end up finding the totem and tell Fiore about it.

The next morning after the challenge, Alec and Ellie confirm with Grett and Fiore that the plan is still Jake tonight but once Ellie leaves to find some firewood, Grett and Fiore both tell Alec about the immunity totem they found so now if Ellie gets any funny ideas about flipping, they can use this totem to save themselves. Alec feigns joy at this news but in confessional he is worried as hell.

As the campers are walking to elimination, Alec whispers to Grett and Fiore about who Ellie, Jake, and Miriam are planning on targeting in elimination. Soon enough, once the votes are cast, Grett uses her totem on Fiore but much to her surprise, it turns out to be four votes against Grett and two votes against Jake. Grett is infuriated that Alec lied to her while Fiore is also furious but deep down, she also feels pretty hurt. Alec begins to feel bad.

Episode 11: The next morning after the last elimination ceremony, Alec apologizes to Fiore for blindsiding her and despite the fact Fiore was bonding with Grett, Fiore still respects Alec and it’s not like he actively betrayed HER specifically so she forgives him, if only to keep their alliance going but chastises Alec for his move. Alec however reassures her that he is sure that he can get Ellie to vote for Miriam. They just have to make sure that the old lady doesn’t win immunity which shouldn’t be too hard.

During this time, Miriam herself decides to apologize to Ellie for how she treated her during her stay at Teal Team and for most of the early merge. Ellie is shocked by this apology but decides to accept it but admits in confessional she’s a little unsure about trusting Miriam.

For the challenge, it starts similar to the canon challenge where Miriam and Jake, Alec and Fiore, and Ellie on her lonesome split off in the caves. After Alec begins fighting a scorpion to save Fiore which begins to make her realize she does care about him, Ellie finds Alec and unlike canon, doesn’t hesitate to save him from the scorpion.

Fiore still travels with Jake and Miriam like she did in canon with the same deal she made in the original episode while Alec and Ellie also travel together with Alec opening up about their time together as outcasts being genuine to him, and this actually strikes a chord in Ellie since in this timeline, Alec’s been rebuilding trust with her. Unlike canon, Ellie throws a rope for Alec to swing across since she trusts him a little more than she did in the original.

Like canon, Jake falls near Ellie and Alec and when they ask what happened, Jake explains that Fiore tricked him and Miriam. Ellie offers to let Jake travel with them which he is unsure about since Alec clearly doesn’t like him but decides to go along with it.

During their time traveling, Jake begins giving suspicious glares at Alec which the bookworm notices and demands to know why Jake keeps staring at him like that. Jake answers by saying he’s making sure that Alec doesn’t try to tackle Ellie for the flashlight so he doesn’t betray her again.

Alec dismisses Jake, saying he’s the reason why Grett got eliminated but Jake doesn’t believe him, especially since he needlessly voted for Gabby in the first merge challenge and asks why he even did that anyway. Alec hesitates to answer, leading Jake to argue that he doesn’t care about Ellie at all, leading to a full blown argument between the two. Ellie, being sick of this drama, tells them both to shut up but can’t help but worry about what Jake is saying.

Soon enough, all three of them reach where the cave exit is. All three of them immediately run for the ladder where Jake tries to tackle Alec to the ground but he quickly overpowers him, however it’s not enough to prevent Ellie from winning immunity.

Once again, Ellie is the swing vote in this situation and her decision is between Alec and Miriam in this case. At this point, Jake wants Alec gone for the toxic influence he’s been spreading towards Ellie, and Alec and Fiore both believe that voting Miriam is their best bet at swaying Ellie to their side but in the end, Ellie decides to backstab Alec because despite their friendship, Ellie is aware that Alec will always choose Fiore over her and he’s betrayed her twice now. She just can’t risk keeping him. Alec is shocked at Ellie’s betrayal but once she explains her reasoning, he reluctantly accepts it and shares a goodbye with Fiore before leaving.

Episode 12: The next morning after Alec’s elimination: Miriam, Fiore, Ellie, and Jake all receive their letters from home and once Jake reads his letter, he ends up running off in tears, leading Miriam to check up on him where he opens up about his parents and their prejudices. Miriam promises Jake that she’ll be there for him no matter what, along with Ellie and Tom. The two share a hug after this.

Meanwhile with Ellie and Fiore, the little girl begins reminding Ellie of how close Miriam and Jake are and that they could team up against Ellie in the finale. Ellie tries to dismiss her at first but Fiore exclaims that if Ellie wants to team up with her to eliminate Miriam, she’s willing to help her. Ellie protests at first but Fiore reminds her about her “sad pathetic life” in poverty back home and if she’s really willing to go back to that life. This gives Ellie pause.

During the challenge, the pairs are Ellie and Jake vs Miriam and Fiore. Fiore whispers to Miriam that she better not think of throwing because there’s a decent chance Ellie could easily vote for Miriam over Fiore. Miriam is skeptical of Fiore’s manipulations but she can’t say she’s wrong.

For the cliff diving challenge, Ellie and Jake win since Fiore missed the safe zone originally despite Miriam throwing her. The tug of war challenge isn’t that different either since Ellie and Jake easily solo Miriam and Fiore physically.

During the challenge break, Jake tries to clarify with Ellie that she’s voting for Fiore if they win the challenge which Ellie confirms but it’s clear she’s doubtful. The next challenge is the fire making contest and without Ellie throwing for Miriam and Fiore, it’s easy to assume Jake and Ellie win this challenge. Soon enough, it’s time to decide who’s going home and Fiore skeptically asks what happens if Ellie and Jake can’t agree on who to eliminate. Derek and Trevor confirm that the two will go to a tiebreaker in that scenario, making Fiore and Miriam both nervous. Jake obviously chooses to bring Miriam to the finals and after some hesitation, Ellie apologizes to Miriam for doing this but she can’t risk losing in a 2v1 and votes to save Fiore.

Both Miriam and Jake are shocked by Ellie’s choice but Derek and Trevor lead Miriam and Fiore to the tiebreaker challenge where they must try to get a flag from the top of a flagpole since they still have the challenge left over. It’s a tough fight to get the flag but in the end, Fiore ends up being able to climb onto the pole and grab her flag, winning the tiebreaker.

Jake and Miriam share a fond farewell where Miriam thanks for everything and encourages him to win. Jake promises he will before they hug and Miriam leaves. Ellie gives Jake a pleading look to see if they’re still okay, but Jake just crosses his arms with tears in his eyes. Fiore just smirks.

Episode 13: The finale is afoot and the final three reminiscence about their time on Camp Tipiskaw.

Ellie laments on how her time at camp has been an emotional rollercoaster and she feels awful about what happened with Jake but she knows she can’t give up on winning. Jake admits that camp was rough and Ellie’s betrayal still stings but he still got to meet people like Miriam and Tom and that means more to him than winning. Fiore just says her time in camp was okay but admits she did enjoy being around Alec.

For the Peanut Gallery, here is who everyone is rooting for:

Team Ellie: Gabby, Drew

Team Jake: Miriam, Tom, Dan, Ashley, Lill, Nick, Will

Team Fiore: Alec, Grett

For helpers, Jake chooses Tom, Ellie chooses Gabby, and Fiore chooses Alec. During the swim for keys, Alec and Tom dive for their respective finalists while Ellie dives for herself. Naturally Alec and Tom rise from the water first and get the keys for Fiore and Jake, leaving Ellie and Gabby in last.

Once the contestants reach the Mess Hall, while Jake and Tom are distracted with getting their shovel, Fiore steals Tom’s map. Soon enough, Alec and Fiore run off and hide somewhere. Once Jake and Tom notice that their map is gone, they end up looking frantically for Alec and Fiore since it’s clear as day they stole it but those two are busy sneaking around the trees.

This soon gives Ellie and Gabby enough time to catch up and after they get their map, they end up making it to the finish line around the same time as Fiore, eliminating Jake from the game.

In the second part of the challenge, there’s no kart sabotage since Season 1 Alec isn’t as cruel as Season 1 Grett, plus he still respects Ellie so he wouldn’t want her dead so this ends up being a pretty casual kart race to the finish line and while it’s close, the winner ends up being Ellie due to her better driving skills. Gabby immediately celebrates Ellie’s victory along with everyone else once Jake encourages them to do so. The Jensen stuff still happens as normal and the season gets a happy ending.

Chapter 5: What If Jo didn’t commit friendly fire in All Stars

Notes:

Just a little heads up. Like Voice Under The Covers, I am going to start using dialogue intervals in script format so some scenes can flow better. Got it, good.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Episode 3: After Zoey shoots Alejandro in the butt with a leech, Jo carefully takes aim with her cannon and fires a buttload of leeches onto Zoey. Duncan praises Jo for her quick thinking with Alejandro also taking advantage of the opportunity to suck up to Jo, making Heather seethe. This causes her to lose focus which allows for Mike to shoot a leech into her hair and run off.

The remaining Villainous Vultures agree to split up, with Gwen and Duncan traveling as a pair with Jo and Scott reluctantly deciding to do the same. Everything with Sierra, Cameron, Duncan, and Gwen goes the same way as canon and once they’re all announced as out, Jo calls the others pathetic. However, since Scott and Jo are now alone, he offers a Gen 2 alliance with Jo since he knows how the Gen 1 villains have history with each other and are composed of power couples and if they work together, they can show the old schoolers who’s boss. Jo can work with that and shakes Scott’s hand on it.

Soon enough, Jo and Scott encounter Courtney and Sam like canon with Courtney using Sam as a human shield. Scott compliments Courtney on her brutality before he shoots her as well. It comes down to Jo and Scott Vs Mike and since Mike is still panicking over his personalities being absent, I think Jo and Scott can take him.

The Villainous Vultures win immunity and before the elimination ceremony, Sam tells the other heroes about his GameGuy being broken, much to Mike’s absolute horror as he doesn’t know what’s happening to him.

As the ceremony draws near, Courtney knows she’s in trouble but since Sam is the obvious weak link, she makes a plea to Sierra, Mike, Zoey, and Cameron to eliminate Sam for the sake of his health and being a liability in challenges. As reluctant as they are, they agree to Courtney’s request and Mike figures that until he figures out what is going on with him, Sam is probably safer being away from the island.

So with that, Sam gets eliminated without grudges, Scott goes to Boney Island for similar reasons to canon, and Duncan and Courtney swap teams.

Episode 4: Despite not being in the Spa Hotel, the Heroes still make an effort to welcome Duncan onto their team but it gets disrupted by Sierra despairing over her phone being broken.

As for the Villainous Vultures, despite Duncan no longer being around: Heather, Alejandro, and Jo still continue sucking up to Gwen as she’s the most trustworthy person on the team and they were already buttering her up before. Gwen plays along with it, although she can’t help but blush a little when Alejandro turns on the flirting, but she notices that Courtney is pretty much outcast by the team due to them sucking up to her.

Gwen soon awkwardly talks to Courtney and apologizes for how the other villains are ignoring her. Courtney dismisses this concern at first before Gwen offers that she can always try to make sure whoever she sided with doesn’t vote for her which shocks Courtney before telling Gwen that she’ll hold her to that. Courtney then admits to the confessional that she was a little surprised Gwen offered her an olive branch and while she doesn’t trust the goth, she does need an ally now that she’s stuck on the Villainous Vultures.

During the challenge, Scott continues flirting with Courtney like he did in canon after returning from Boney Island which Courtney is interested in, also considering Scott a potential ally as well. Jo also notices this flirting and admits that while she’ll need to keep an eye on it, she does admit that bringing Courtney into her alliance with Scott would be a good backup plan if Gwen doesn’t work out.

The Heroic Hamsters obviously lose this challenge since Sam was the only reason they even had a chance in canon, and despite Duncan being the newbie, Cameron would beg for Mike and Zoey to vote for Sierra who is shocked at first before Cameron explains why they voted for her. Sierra shockingly understands this, and she gives him a friendly hug before leaving. Jo goes to Boney Island before Scott can volunteer.

Episode 5: Everything on the Heroic Hamsters with Cameron breaking his glasses due to Mal still goes similar to canon just with no stupid Sierra antics.

As for the Villainous Vultures, the Aleheather antics still go the same way as canon while Scott and Courtney end up stargazing together as Courtney finds herself opening up to Scott about her struggles involving Gwen and Duncan. Scott is shocked to admit it, but he empathizes with Courtney’s trauma and advises her to keep Gwen and Duncan at arm’s length.

During Heather’s crisis about Alejandro losing interest in her, Alejandro takes the opportunity to try swindling Gwen to his side, claiming that they should get rid of Heather as they both have an axe to grind with her. Gwen can get behind that, but tells Alejandro she’ll consider it since she doesn’t harbor much resentment towards Heather as she used to, plus they’re both friends with Cody so her stance on Heather has softened a little.

As for the challenge. On the Heroes’ side, Duncan still goes off on his own once the Blue Harvest Moon becomes a problem, and Mal can’t really isolate Cameron and Zoey away from each other or ditch them without causing suspicion so he reluctantly travels with them as a trio, being forced to stomach Cameron’s diagnosis on what’s been going on with Mike. Even if Sierra isn’t here to do the vine tactic, I’m sure Zoey is bold enough to come up with a similar way to get across the gorge.

For the Villainous Vultures, not much really changes on their end other than Jo being present, and because of the lack of noteworthy changes for this challenge, the Villainous Vultures still win and Gwen still dumps Duncan for obsessing over Courtney. Scott volunteers for Boney Island before Courtney or Jo can stop him.

This vote is very uneventful as the trio is obviously voting for Duncan for going AWOL during the challenge which does fuel his bad boy ego a bit. His bad boy ego is even further revitalized when he realizes he gets to swap back to the Villainous Vultures until he realizes he’s on the same team with both his disgruntled exes. Fuck…

Episode 6: At the Spa Hotel, things are awkward as Duncan can be seen trying to ask Gwen why she dumped him and that if it was because he was too soft but Gwen snaps at him, explaining that it was because he wasn’t being sensitive to her feelings and was constantly obsessing over Courtney like he still had feelings for her. It finally clicks in Duncan’s head how badly he fucked up, especially since he pressured Gwen into having this outburst in front of the other Villains.

Gwen soon storms off and Duncan also awkwardly leaves the scene. Alejandro then opts to check on Gwen to which Heather snarkily remarks about him wanting to manipulate her again but Alejandro merely protests, stating he is merely a concerned gentleman. Jo interjects, saying that is full of crap and that she’ll check on her but Courtney yells at all of them, saying she’ll do it, surprising all three of them.

When Courtney does go to check up on Gwen, the two would make awkward conversation about Gwen dumping Duncan before proceeding to relate to each other about how Duncan burned them, with Gwen finally apologizing for hurting Courtney, with Courtney willing to forgive her so long as they vote together from now on. Gwen playfully agrees to these terms.

As for the Heroic Hamsters, Zoey helps fix Cameron’s glasses with Zoey feeling scared of Mike when he so much as tries to talk to her much to both Mike and Cameron’s concern, and Mal’s delight.

During the challenge, Courtney and Gwen pair up with Scott trying to join in until Jo yanks him away since they need to talk strategy. Heather and Alejandro pair up like canon as well and Duncan mostly guards the basket alone with the same going for Mike since both he and Zoey don’t want Cameron guarding the basket and both silently agree it’s safer for Zoey to be around Cameron right now. This allows for Duncan to further enhance suspicion against Mike.

As for Jo and Scott, the former makes it clear that for their alliance to work, he has to quit simping over Courtney to which Scott rolls his eyes and tells Jo he has everything under control. However, Scott now wants Jo gone next.

Like canon, I imagine Zoey and Cameron would find the massive egg’s nest and win immunity for the Heroic Hamsters. Stuff like Mike accidentally giving Mal full control and Alejandro stealing Heather’s idol happen like canon.

When it comes to the vote, Courtney and Gwen are locked into voting for Duncan and Scott is obviously going along with that plan despite lying to Jo in saying he’ll vote for Heather. Heather also goes along with this plan to save herself from being voted out by Alejandro and Jo, but since Alejandro is expecting Duncan to be eliminated in a 4-3 vote, he decides to use his idol on Duncan if he votes for Heather. Duncan agrees and with four votes nullified against him, Heather is eliminated and Alejandro reveals that he can walk as a bonus. Mal volunteers for exile like he did originally and that’s when it clicks for Duncan that he is indeed Mal.

Episode 7: Despite Alejandro’s lie being revealed, he isn’t the sole target of the Villainous Vultures as Jo is pissed at Scott for voting against her wishes to which Scott doesn’t give a damn about as he doesn’t regret siding with Courtney. Jo says that’s fine by her and that she hopes he, Gwen, and Courtney are prepared for a tiebreaker if they lose again with Alejandro agreeing, although Duncan is hesitant.

Speaking of Duncan, he tells Alejandro and Jo about what he knows about Mal since they’re technically his allies now and while Alejandro and Jo are skeptical, they believe Duncan is telling the truth and both vow to get to the bottom of this and like canon, Duncan warns not only Zoey but Cameron about Mal too. Cameron is completely onboard with this theory since it explains Mike’s behavior and he’s able to get Zoey to consider it as well.

For this challenge, Zoey still gets her advantage that gives her an extra point while Mal and Cameron’s rounds go similarly to canon but since Izzy mentions Mal and pretty much more than half the cast was warned by Duncan about Mal, Alejandro, Jo, and Cameron call him out on his violence towards Izzy being suspicious and so Mal decides to reveal himself, seeing no point in keeping a facade, shocking Zoey to her core.

As for the Villainous Vultures, Scott still fails, Alejandro still wins his point, Duncan doesn’t have a moral crisis over hitting the bird and just drops it outside the ring which counts as a point, Jo fights Lightning which ends in a draw which Lightning respects Jo for, and Gwen and Courtney still have their big makeup moment from canon so the Villainous Vultures still win the challenge.

When it comes to the twist vote, Mal would be a consideration for elimination but Jo would probably want Cameron gone instead since last time she underestimated him, she got eliminated for it and she doesn’t want that happening again and they can take advantage of Mal and Zoey’s toxic romance to get forward. Scott, Alejandro, and Courtney are onboard with this idea, not understanding the full extent of Mal’s evil and wanting to get rid of a threat and don’t listen to Duncan’s protests when he says that this is a bad idea and while Gwen is willing to hear him out, the others aren’t, so Cameron ends up being eliminated, sharing an emotional goodbye with Zoey who is tearful to be losing her last true connection while Mal is relieved to be safe. Mal and Zoey soon send Alejandro to Boney Island for being the biggest threat and the episode ends with Zoey alone at the Dock Of Shame in tears before dropping her Mike necklace into the ocean telling Mike goodbye, ripping the bottom helm of her shirt, and tying it on top of her forehead.

Episode 8: The episode begins with Mal smugly waking up at the prospect of Cameron being eliminated before being face to face with Commando Zoey, who swears he is going to pay for all the shit he’s done to Mike and the rest of her friends. This threat actually intimidates Mal a little and he’s actually a little turned on by this new version of Zoey so he playfully accepts her challenge.

As for the Villainous Vultures, Gwen and Courtney end up talking about if eliminating Cameron was the right call as Duncan seemed pretty concerned about Mal. Courtney can understand Gwen’s worries but assures her that they can just vote for Mal at the merge. They then shift topics to more a lighthearted one by making a final two deal.

As for the others, Duncan can be seen scolding Scott and Jo for keeping an obvious danger like Mal in the game after his viciousness towards Izzy. Scott is admittedly concerned about Mal, but Jo scoffs at the notion of Mal being a true threat and that they can just deal with Mal at the merge. In the end, Duncan is left being pissed off at his team.

During the challenge, Commando Zoey powers her way through everyone else to get a speedboat like Alejandro did while Gwen and Courtney get the two-seater like canon. Mal still gets the Boat Of Losers and gleefully sabotages the other boats like canon much to everyone else’s annoyance as Duncan gives Jo, Alejandro, and Scott “I told you so” looks and while Alejandro and Scott are starting to regret keeping Mal, Jo is still too stubborn to admit she’s wrong.

For the raft gang, I can see Jo using Scott as bait in a similar vein to Cameron in canon to use Fang as their motor, being sadistic while doing so as she’s still pissed at Scott for betraying her. During this time, Alejandro allows Duncan to further explain what exactly Mal is capable of and after Duncan tells Alejandro some juvie stories, Alejandro is firmly on Duncan’s side.

Out of the four characters with working boats, while Commando Zoey would have engine troubles like Alejandro, I imagine she’d power through them enough to win immunity like Alejandro did in canon. Zoey decides to invite Duncan to the Spa Hotel since he opened up her eyes about Mal. This makes Mal furiously jealous, especially since he didn’t win immunity.

As for the vote, Courtney and Gwen discuss voting for Mal at first until Scott demands that they change the vote to Jo for using him as bait. Courtney is immediately on board much to Gwen’s annoyance but since Jo annoys her anyway, this isn’t a major loss. Zoey, Duncan, and Alejandro are all firm votes against Mal, but Jo tries to convince Mal to get Zoey to vote for Scott since she has a bone to pick with the dirt farmer after he betrayed her. However, Mal knows that Scott has the numbers to get rid of Jo himself and since he knows the other three are voting for him, he lies and says he’ll vote for Scott but he blindsides Jo and gets her out instead. It’s at that point where Jo has to accept she… made a mistake. It feels so wrong to her.

Episode 9: During their time at the Spa Hotel, Zoey and Duncan discuss voting Mal as soon as possible while Duncan expresses concern over Zoey’s new look. Zoey understands Duncan’s concern but she’s been through this Commando phase before and knows to keep a limit on it. She just needs to adapt to the new cutthroat nature of this situation which Duncan can understand.

As for Mal himself, he decides to approach Gwen, Scott, and Courtney about voting for Duncan because if they vote him off, Duncan will have Alejandro and Zoey on his side to screw them over in a tiebreaker and he knows that they don’t want that. Courtney is tempted by this and Scott is also tempted to follow her on this but Gwen tries to remind Courtney that Mal is EVIL. Courtney brushes this off, denying that Duncan’s perception of evil could ever be trustworthy and that Mal seems more like a wild card at best. Gwen grunts and storms off at this excuse and Scott can’t help but understand Gwen’s annoyance. Alejandro overhears this conversation and admits in confessional that he must make sure Gwen stays on their side. Scottney still has their accidental kiss in case you’re wondering.

During the challenge, Zoey and Duncan, Alejandro and Gwen, and Scott and Courtney all pair up while Mal is left by himself.

Alejandro and Gwen would likely bond a bit as Alejandro helps Gwen with her claustrophobia due to practicing breathing exercises in a robot. Alejandro would likely get captured first though to isolate Gwen.

Scott and Courtney still stumble upon Mal like they did in canon and Mal offers them to join him but once Ezekiel shows up, Mal sprints off to ditch them.

Once Alejandro, Scott, and Courtney are all in the cage, Scott complains to Courtney about how Mal totally ditched them and that he’s starting to think Duncan had a point about Mal being super evil. Courtney is still in denial over the possibility of Duncan being right and tries to justify it as a survivor's instinct but Alejandro would agree with Scott and inform Scott and Courtney over the things Duncan had told him, making Courtney start questioning things.

Next up to get captured is likely Duncan and Gwen since Gwen would be too scared and I can see Ezekiel nabbing Duncan if Zoey is too focused on the terrain to pay attention to Duncan’s presence.

It comes down to Mal and Zoey on who I think would win immunity. I think Mal using Manitoba’s skills and Zoey using her warrior instincts would allow for them both to reach Chris at the same time. They would form a truce to deal with Ezekiel in which Mal tricks Zoey into fighting Ezekiel on her own before he grabs the meatball bazooka and blasts Ezekiel with it, being careful enough to miss Zoey much to her shock.

Mal: “What can I say? I can see why Mike likes you so much.”

Mal still unties Chris and wins immunity however and because of that, the two trios must now vote against each other. Scott, Courtney, and Gwen vote for Duncan while Alejandro, Zoey, and Duncan vote for Scott(it’s nothing super personal, they just have the least connections with him). Mal could really go either way here since he tried to bargain with Courtney’s loyalty earlier but I think Mal would rather keep the love triangle drama active so that he doesn’t have to go on a constant immunity streak. Plus, it entertains him and Zoey will likely warm up to him if he keeps one of her friends for now.

So with all that said, Scott is eliminated in a 4-3 vote with Courtney furious at Mal for going against her to which he smugly replies that he sought better options before winking at Zoey, making the redhead shocked. Courtney tearfully apologizes to Scott, claiming she should’ve listened to him.

Scott(chuckles): “Yeah, you probably should’ve, but don’t beat yourself over it Court. You’ve dealt with a lot in this show, but you gotta learn to move forward.”

Courtney embraces Scott after that, and he ends up leaving with his head held high. A rarity for him all things considered and he likes that. After the vote, Mal decides to make Alejandro go to exile as he is the biggest threat and he gets more enjoyment from Zoey and the love triangle. Mal also invites Zoey to the Spa Hotel.

Episode 10: During their visit at the Spa Hotel, Mal tries to flirt with Zoey which only ends with Zoey threatening him and being grossed out by his antics. This only excites Mal, but he decides to respect her wishes.

As for the others, since Duncan is basically alone with Gwen and Courtney, he can’t really avoid apologizing to them anymore and decides to bite the bullet and apologize for everything he put them through. Both girls are shocked by his apology but due to the circumstances, Gwen reminds him that they can talk later and need to defeat Mal which they all agree on.

For this challenge, with Alejandro sabotaging Mal, Mike freeing Svetlana, and people like Commando Zoey, Duncan, and Courtney being around, I do not see Mal winning immunity whatsoever. This immunity does go to Zoey though since she already did well in the original and is now even more focused with the development she’s been having.

Mal attempts to make one last ditch effort in getting Courtney and Gwen to vote for Duncan but they straight up laugh at his face for even ATTEMPTING to convince them.

In the end, Mal is eliminated almost unanimously in a 5-1 vote with him voting Duncan. However, he is still smug and turns to Zoey.

Mal: “Well, you certainly exceeded my expectations. If you’re ever willing to keep in contact with me, you have Mike’s number… or should I say my number?! Mwahahahahahahahahaha.”

He then leaves the island with a satisfied smirk on his face while Zoey’s cold demeanor begins to crack as her eyes well up with tears. Mal sees this and is confronted with an aching feeling in his gut… he feels… remorse? Oh god…

Episode 11: Now that Mal is gone, Duncan, Gwen, and Courtney have a talk about all the issues they’ve had over the course of the show and agree they all screwed up in plenty of ways and agree to just have no hard feelings towards each other no matter how this game goes and to let bygones be bygones.

As for Zoey and Alejandro, Zoey ends up venting about how while she’s glad Mal is gone, it still breaks her heart to know she might never see Mike again. Alejandro relates to her, explaining how he virtually went through the same thing with having no contact with Heather for a year in the robot suit until fate brought them together again. He then reassures Zoey that he has reason to believe Mike will return.

As for the challenge, without Mal to sabotage the chocolate, Courtney is able to actually win immunity this time as I imagine that the rules were only changed due to Courtney having a bird poop sundae.

As for the vote, while Gwen and Courtney try to get Duncan to flip on Alejandro, he knows that Gwen and Courtney will trounce him if given the chance because even if they’re letting bygones be bygones, there’s still some baggage, so Gwen is eliminated in a 3-2 vote. Gwen’s a good sport about it and she leaves giving Courtney a hug and Duncan a fist bump.

Episode 12: Since Chris’ cottage never got blown up, I’m gonna do what I usually do in these What Ifs in those scenarios and have the final four get cameos as helpers.

Zoey gets the same treasure as she got in canon as well as Brick as her helper, who is happy to see Zoey’s new skill set.

Duncan gets the painting as his assigned treasure and he gets Cody as his helper. Thankfully for him, Cody doesn’t seem to hold much of a grudge anymore.

Courtney gets the diamond and her helper ends up being Harold who she is less than pleased to see.

And finally, Alejandro gets the Gilded Chris statue as his treasure with Bridgette as his helper. Oh, he’s screwed…

The main plot points of this challenge involve Zoey getting Brick to help her with the yeti, bonding over Zoey’s newfound grit, Duncan would be closed off around Cody until he’s finally able to convince Duncan that he really does hold no grudges anymore, Courtney would be constantly trying to get revenge on Fang for Scott’s behalf while not even trying to listen to Harold’s ideas, and Alejandro is trying to make peace with Bridgette after how he royally screwed her over.

In the end, Zoey would likely have the easiest time getting her treasure so she would win immunity while Cody is ultimately able to come up with a distraction to help Duncan get a painting guarded by Chef and Courtney finally listens to one of Harold’s ideas to get the diamond from Fang(his idea ended up being some complicated trap he would instruct Courtney to make to give him no choice but to cooperate) so they’re safe too. Alejandro ends up getting last and gets eliminated but he is finally able to make things right with Bridgette after letting her vent about how much Alejandro had hurt her and Geoff and sincerely apologizing to her, explaining how Zoey’s situation made him realize how badly he truly fucked up.

At the end of the day, all the semifinalists bid their helpers a fond farewell and Alejandro takes the Flush Of Shame. Zoey then gets to decide who will be going to the finale with her and she’s obviously choosing Duncan due to how much he’s helped her. Courtney gets it though, and admits she’s rooting for Duncan much to the punk’s surprise and relief.

During this episode, there’s also a Playa Des Losers segment where the eliminated contestants can be seen hanging out and while Mike’s having his side quest in his mind, Mal decides to confront Cameron, not to beat him up but to actually listen to one of his therapy rants.

Mal: “Mike is rummaging through my mind and freeing the other personalities as we speak. I know I have the power to stop him so he can’t defeat me but I know it’ll hurt Zoey and I… don’t want to do that to her. It doesn’t make sense. I was made to hurt people and cross those who got in my way so why do I feel this way over this girl. You’re good at this whole hero garbage so I might as well hear you out.”

Cameron explains that the reason he feels this way over Zoey is because he’s grown to care about her and as for why he feels the need to hurt others, he has a theory that Mal was created as a prosecutor/protector alter and his behavior around Zoey would explain his tendencies as he saw himself in her since she acts as Commando Zoey as a defense mechanism against people like Scott, Chef, and… well… him. Mal soon digests all of this and grumbles a silent “thank you” to Cameron before walking off.

Episode 13: In the finale, I tend to treat these What Ifs like a rewrite so there’s no floating into the sun business here.

For helpers, Zoey ends up getting Alejandro and Heather while Duncan gets Courtney and Scott. As for the rest of the Peanut Gallery, here is who they’re all rooting for-

Team Zoey: Mal, Cameron, Sierra, Sam, Lindsay

Team Duncan: Gwen, Jo, Lightning

This finale is a friendship finale but I also can see some competitiveness arise between Duncan and Zoey, and I can also see Courtney and Alejandro having to mediate their partners when it comes to being civil towards Duncan and Zoey. Mal is also secretly trailing behind Zoey and Duncan, much to everyone’s concern but Cameron is oddly intrigued to see what Mal ends up doing, given their talk from last episode.

Once they reach the water section, Fang would surprise attack the finalists and their helpers, much to their absolute horror but before Fang can harm Zoey, Mal immediately steps in and punches Fang away from the moats. Zoey is shocked by what Mal just did for her.

Zoey: “M-Mike?”

Mal(shakes head): “Nope, not yet. I just wanted to say goodbye…”

He then gasps into his subconscious right before Mike and the others are about to press the reset button and stops them from doing so. Mal tells Mike that he doesn’t have to get rid of the others or him. He will do the honors of getting rid of this tower. He proves this by snapping his fingers and bringing Mike’s subconscious back to its normal state, leaving Mike in charge once again.

Mike: “Is… is this another trick…”

Mal: “Nah. If I wanted to stop your stupid quest, I would’ve been much more direct, believe me. I’m not a good person, never have been, and I likely never will be but being out there on that show and interacting with that girlfriend of yours’ and that insufferable nerd… I’m finally able to realize that my purpose was to protect this body from others’ hurting it. Obviously, I get a little carried away on that front-“

Vito(sarcastically): “A little?”

Svetlana: “Hush. We’re having a moment.”

Mal: “Thank you Svetlana. The point is… I’m obviously beyond the point of return, but at the same time, I’m willing to at least TRY to be better for yours’ and Zoey’s sake. If you’ll have me.”

Mike is shocked to see Mal being so open with them, and gives him a brief hug before finally taking control of his body.

Soon enough, Mike finally returns to his body and embraces Zoey who tearfully embraces her back. They do have a bit of skepticism over Mike returning, but once Mike asks about where Zoey’s necklace is, they’re sure he’s the real deal. The two kiss, prompting Scottney and Aleheather to also kiss. Duncan feels so awkward right now.

Soon enough, Chris breaks up this sap-fest by announcing that anybody who pulls the sword out wins the million. Courtney, Scott, and Alejandro are tempted, but decide to shrug it off as Zoey and Duncan earned their spot more, Heather almost DOES make a break for the sword but Alejandro prevents her from doing so by remarking that if she’s a good helper, Zoey might split the money with them. Plus, she owes her for the blimp fiasco. Heather huffs, but reluctantly agrees with Alejandro’s assessment. Meanwhile Lightning and Jo do actually try to get to the sword since the Peanut Gallery is placed on top of the moats but Chef makes quick work of them for trying to use brute strength and no strategy. The Peanut Gallery laughs at them for this.

In the end, Zoey and Duncan reach the top moat and get ready to reach for the sword. The endings would work similarly to Mike and Zoey’s canon endings. In Duncan’s ending, Zoey would be complimenting Chef’s shooting skills which distracts Chef long enough for Duncan to get the sword. In Zoey’s ending, Duncan mocks Chef like Mike did in canon but in a more creative way than Mike did.

No matter who wins though, the island still sinks but the All Stars still happily drift together on top of the cabins. Cameron even prods Lightning and Jo enough to get them to reluctantly admit that this season DID reach the best conclusion it could’ve if they HAD to lose and Chris signs off, preparing for a new island and cast.

Final Thoughts: Goddamn, I just keep surprising myself with these What Ifs, don’t I? I thought my last All Stars What If was peak but this one was really freaking good in my eyes. I even managed to give Mal a hint of character development which is really doing god’s work and I was finally able to do something about that godforsaken reset button.

I’m a bit surprised because when I first had Mal get a crush on Zoey, I mostly did it as a joke to show how I’m willing to slip into ships of fanon territory(so long as they make sense), and that Mal falling for someone due to their sadistic tendencies makes total sense for his character. He did remark that he seemed to enjoy how scary Courtney can be at times, he seems to somewhat have a fondness for Zoey(he interacted with her a lot and barely showed annoyance towards her like he did with Cameron, and also even implied she deserved better than Mike, so that’s at least SOMETHING), so I figured that he’d TOTALLY dig Commando Zoey.

However, then I thought more about the prosecutor/protector theories about Mal as well as how Commando Zoey is basically Zoey’s defense mechanism and so I delved deeper into Mal’s feelings for Zoey to the point where he began to feel BAD for causing her pain. Is this out of character? Most likely. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. This show has humanized CHRIS before, and Mal’s assumedly the way he is because of how he was created and despite his irredeemable intentions, he has not committed the same level of atrocities as Chris or even CHASE and he gets some humanization. So I figured, screw it, I’ll
give him a mini-redemption arc where he doesn’t completely become a better person but he’s trying and that’s what matters.😇

I spent so much of these final thoughts ranting about my Mal portrayal, LMAO. But this was a really great What If and I especially love how the merge was composed of basically no one except Gwen being a genuine good person at the moment, not even Zoey as she was adapting to the more cutthroat nature of the game but as the merge continued, everyone had at least got some form of respect.

Duncan, Gwen, and Courtney finally got closure for their relationship traumas, Zoey and Mike found their ways back to each other, Alejandro learned the basic concept of empathy and got to make things right with, debatably, his biggest victim on the show, Scott finally feels some level of respect, Jo got humbled for her cockiness and overplaying her hand, and even Mal got out of the hole he was digging himself deeper into.

This isn’t to say that the pre-mergers were disrespected either though. Cameron got to keep his dignity intact and got quite a respectable sendoff as he only got eliminated due to a twist and being seen as a threat, Heather still has Alejandro but now he’ll be more of a moral anchor to her due to his experiences this season and now they can finally actually bring out the best aspects of each other, Sam got spared from being a further pain magnet and was only voted off as a form of mercy(bare minimum but let’s be real, he didn’t have much of a story to begin with), Lightning got to still be iconic, and Lindsay… well… I couldn’t really do anything about her but she didn’t get whisked away into the sun at least…

This What If was genuinely amazing and I heavily enjoyed making this. Let me know what canon divergences you wanna see me do next(Disventure Camp suggestions are allowed, you’ll just have to check the Disventure Camp subreddit for those).

Here are some suggestions that I have been craving to do if you can’t think of anything:

What If Noah participated in Dodgebrawl

What If Cody never got mauled by a bear

What If the teams were determined by arrival order

*Screaming Gophers: Beth, DJ, Gwen, Geoff, Lindsay, Heather, Duncan, Tyler, Harold, Trent, Bridgette*

*Killer Bass: Leshawna, Noah, Sadie, Katie, Ezekiel, Cody, Eva, Owen, Courtney, Justin, Izzy*

What If Cody and Tyler made it in Action

What If Justin didn’t force Gwen to vote for herself

What If Justin never fell for Courtney

What If Everyone from Gen 1 Competed in World Tour

What If Cody ended up on Team Chris instead of Sierra

What If Noah was able to save himself from elimination in London

What If Sierra debuted in ROTI instead of WT

What If Scott didn’t throw challenges

What If Jo never committed friendly fire on Scott

What If Courtney never made her chart

What If MK convinced the Frogs Of Death to eliminate Julia

What If Ripper won immunity in Wheel Of Vomit

What If Julia didn’t make the fake contract

What If Ripper was voted out instead of Axel in Rematch

Notes:

So I definitely prefer this to canon since not only does Sammy get a more fleshed out arc but I get to call Jasmine out on her flaws better. That’s a win-win right there. The only real negative is removing Shawn’s finalist status but eh, I can live without that.
