You never knew your real parents other than a locket with your name engraved on it with the words “we’ll love you always”
You were adopted as a baby almost as soon as you arrived at the orphanage
You had been a pretty careful child never really getting hurt until the age of 10, getting a large cut on your leg which didn’t bleed that was the moment your powers manifested
Your adoptive parents were afraid of your powers and basically gave you to the government shortly after they saw you could move blood around
The optics on a blood based superhero weren’t great so you were trained and put on a task force for covert assassinations
You could burst the blood vessels in the body, force their own blood to stop pumping, move a person around against their will and so much more
You weren’t really bothered when Invincible took over
The government treated you as nothing but a weapon, you haven't seen your adoptive parents in years and you never really interacted with the so-called heroes. Even those you worked with on the task force kept their distance from you
So good riddance you thought, finally being able to live a semi-normal life. When Invincible took down the GDA the rest of the government quickly fell so there wasn’t anyone left to bark out orders and send you around the world to complete missions.
While everyone else was panicking in the city you were calm, literally grabbing groceries as if it were a normal day while invincible fought heroes that were trying to hold out against him. It was always a bloodbath, and he seemed to take joy in also scaring civilians and killing them at whim.
He flew over to the body of the dead hero, sighing as people ran and screamed trying to get as far away as possible meanwhile you were still carrying your groceries and walking at a normal pace ignoring him, he quickly moved to hover in front of reaching out to grab you when suddenly he couldn’t move he had no idea why
You were controlling the blood in his body halting his movements, not that he knew that all he knew was that your eyes had turned red and he couldn’t move
You had a pretty decent range of how far you could be from the person you were controlling, so simply sidestepped him just wanting to get home and feed the puppy you recently found
You had never cared much about the targets they’d sent you to kill, but you had a soft spot for animals, the poor thing had been starving when you came across it and you couldn’t just leave it on the streets.
The streets were in chaos, so it was easier to walk using the subway tracks, besides it’s not like anyone could pose a threat to you.
Once you were far enough your hold on invincible was released and you hadn’t given him a second thought
Mark however was immediately fascinated how had he never known of someone with the ability to stop him dead in his tracks? It was clear you weren’t a part of the resistance otherwise you would have taken him down then and there so who were you?
The bored look on your face, as you froze him in place, had made him feel things…as if he wasn’t worth the effort for you to do anything more and he had a feeling you could do a lot more
As much as he wanted to go off trying to find you he knew he needed to be smart about this
After all, it had been a while since he’d been excited about anything
And you were none the wiser that this was the start of Invincible's obsession with you
