the stars of the nighttime sky twinkled dimly yet loud, something you caught from the corner of your eye. despite the autumn season, it was relatively warm, with just a slight breeze to accompany the street of Flimflam.
the great dubbed witch of the server, chimneyswift, found himself strolling through the shopping centre, appreciating the calm atmosphere, taking a small break from his ‘witchy antics’.
chim didn’t realize where he was really going, letting his body direct him wherever felt right. by the time he snapped back to reality, he noticed a small backpack lying on the grass, followed by a still figure lying against a distant tree, who he recognized as his banking buddy and bestfriend(?), pungence.
chim quickly approached him, realizing he mustve dozed off, as he was leaning against the oak tree trunk in a half-slunken position, smelling a faint scent of vanilla lingering as he got closer to pungence’s sleeping position.
for a short period, chim relished in the peacefulness of the entire scene in itself; the purplish-blue hue to the midnight sky, the ever-growing twinkling stars, and the crisp warmth of the air.
coming back to his senses, chim got back to what he intended on doing. he slightly shook pungence, who only stirred and turned the other way. after a few more weak attempts, chim finally succeeded in waking pungence!- who looked at him with half dazed eyes.
“wakey wakey punge! what’re you doing out here?” chim asked, confused as to why he’d be out a good ways from Flimflam St. at this time of night. “‘nted to get a bettr look of the stars”, pungence replied slurring some of his words, still trying to get his bearings.
“how about you watch with me?” he asked chim, his eyes dark as the void caught chim’s attention, a contrast to his own purple and green eyes.
happily accepting his offer, the two of them found themselves leaning on one another, appreciating the tranquility of this scene, though chim found himself focusing more on pungence: his soft gaze towards the stars, his slightly unkempt dark brown hair, and all these small gestures and attributes that left chim with a tingling feeling inside him.
the moon made its way into the sky when chimney actually looked up, its soft yellow glow feeling present in the atmosphere. pungence had mumbled something that sounded like a mix of English and another language, before sinking further into chim’s shoulder, falling unconscious once more.
chimneyswift gazed at the sky before soon following, leaving the both of them under the lush oak tree, not too far from Flimflam st., but not too nearby that made them distinguishable.
