Thinkin' bout you

Summary:

He'd spent years trying to put high school behind him, especially people like him. And yet, Sasuke still found himself thinking about him more often than he cared to admit.

Why did that idiot still have such a grip on his thoughts ?

Work Text:

The jarring blare of the alarm clock on his bedside table forced Sasuke to wake with a groan. He shifted, turning onto his stomach and placing his pillow over his head to muffle the shrill noise assaulting his ears.

After what felt like an eternity, the alarm stopped ringing, making Sasuke let out a sigh of relief. However, that sweet sensation was cut short by the sound of another ring, this time from his phone. He wanted to scream in despair but settled for just another groan.

He released the hand clutching the pillow over his head and groped blindly across his bedside table until his fingers found the phone. He already knew who was calling ; he still briefly opened his eyes to press the answer button.

He brought the phone to his ear and made sure to show his annoyance in his voice.

“What do you want, Sai ?

He knew perfectly well why Sai had called him. Today was a Monday, and they were always extremely hard on him. Going from a weekend where he could sleep in and wake up whenever he wanted to Monday morning where he had to get up at 6:00 a.m. wasn't easy.

After a year of hanging out together, Sai had understood that if no one pushed the Uchiha to wake up, he wouldn't. So Sasuke receiving a call from him on Mondays at 6:00 a.m. had become like a ritual for them.

Still, that didn't stop him from being annoyed that the other woke him up every time.

Just making sure you don't skip class today.” Sasuke sighed before getting up from his lying position and sitting on the end of his bed.

Sai and he have known each other for two years, being in at the same boarding school, but it wasn't until last year that they actually exchanged numbers. To be honest, they weren't exactly friends, but more like people forced together by certain circumstances.

He ran a hand through his hair, ruffling it slightly, then looked around his room with a haggard look.

"I hate Mondays."

"I know, that's why I'm here. Now get ready, I'll be downstairs by the dorm in twenty minutes.

Not giving him a chance to reply, Sai hung up, and the repetitive sound of the line cutting out graced Sasuke's ears.

With another sigh, the Uchiha tossed his phone blindly somewhere and got out of bed for good. He walked over to his closet and took a clean towel from one of the drawers before locking himself in his bathroom.

He undressed lazily, not at all excited about going to class. Two years ago, his parents, Mikoto and Fugaku Uchiha, had sent him to a boarding school across the country because they were 'fed up with his immature behavior.'

Sasuke called bullshit.

His parents were very old-school, and he very much wasn't. This caused many arguments with them over his choices and lifestyle.

He heard countless lectures like : 'A proper Uchiha doesn't wear piercings' ; 'A proper Uchiha doesn't get tattoos' ; or 'A proper man doesn't wear skirts.'

Plus, there were the constant comparisons to his older brother, Itachi. He couldn't go a day without hearing that he should follow in his brother's footsteps instead of acting like a foolish child.

It was truly exhausting.

All these remarks and comparisons damaged his relationship with Itachi. His brother was nothing like their parents ; he was understanding and tolerant. However, Sasuke couldn't help but feel a little resentful towards him, even though he didn't deserve it. He loves Itachi with all his heart, and he knows his older brother feels the same way about him, but things were too complicated.

In short, for two years now, Sasuke has been stuck in this boarding school for rich kids.

If you had asked him how it was at the beginning, he would have said he hated it and wanted to leave. And if you asked him how it was now, he would have said he hated it even more and still wanted to leave.

But his parents were probably more than happy not to see, he quotes, "the mess he's become”. Sasuke swore to himself that once he graduated, Fugaku and Mikoto would no longer have any rights over him, and he would leave the family home.

He sighed, snapping out of his unpleasant thoughts, and stepped into the shower. He enjoyed the feeling of the warm water running over his skin and closed his eyes in relaxation. He washed his body and gave his hair a quick shampoo, then stepped out of the shower.

The raven grabbed his towel and quickly dried himself off, wrapping it around his waist before leaving the bathroom. He headed to his vanity, the only piece of furniture that truly belonged to him ; Itachi had bought it for him to try and console him for being sent to that stupid school.

He began his beauty routine by applying lotion to his body ; it smelled good and was very moisturizing for his skin. He continued with a face cream, but as he put the product on his hands, he realized it was almost empty. He groaned in frustration but made do with what little cream was left.

Satisfied with his moisturized and shiny skin, he set about doing his hair. He took some gel and applied it to the ends of his back hair ; many people found his hairstyle quite surprising, but Sasuke loved it and wasn't about to change it for the stupid opinion of others.

His beauty routine completed, the Uchiha got up from his vanity and walked over to his closet. He opened it and took out the filth that was his school uniform.

"Really, the ugliness of this thing will shock me every time."

The uniform consisted of a white shirt, a dark blue sweater vest, and a dark blue jacket with the school logo ; so far, it was okay you might say, but why on Earth would they add khaki pants with brown loafers ? It's a school for the rich, but they can't hire a stylist to at least keep the color palette consistent ?

 Ugh.

Sasuke pulled on a pair of underwear, quickly put on his uniform. He grabbed his school bag and gym bag—because yes, this damn school decided it was a good idea to have PE on Mondays—put on a light coat of perfume, and walked to the front door. There, he put on his shoes, and was finally ready to go.

Sasuke locked the door behind him, slowly making his way to the elevator. He cursed when it was already on his floor, then went inside. After barely a minute, unfortunately far too short, the elevator arrived at the ground floor.

He stepped out with a sigh, headed for the exit door, and came face to face with Sai waiting for him. The guy was focused on what he was drawing in his sketchbook and hadn't even noticed Sasuke. The latter almost wanted to slip by unnoticed and leave the other waiting for nothing in retaliation for the call this morning but he chose mercy.

I'm here.

Sai looked up from his sketchbook and then at his watch.

You're late.

Sasuke rolled his eyes and started walking towards the cafeteria without checking if Sai was following him. It had snowed last night and the ground was covered in snow ; he hoped the PE session would be canceled.

You're already lucky I showed up.

He heard a sigh coming from behind him, then the sound of footsteps approaching. A few seconds later, he and Sai were walking side by side in silence.

Arriving at the cafeteria, the two high school students grabbed a tray and began helping themselves to the dishes provided. Sasuke had a bowl of tomato salad, steamed rice, and some grilled salmon, while Sai had some tofu, miso soup, and some nori.

They went to an empty table and began to enjoy their breakfast silently. Sasuke's bad mood was even starting to fade after eating his delicious bowl of tomato salad, but it was all ruined when the sound of a chair scraping the floor next to him was heard.

He glanced sideways to his left, holding back a sigh when he saw a boy with triangular tattoos on his cheeks. Who even does that ?

It’s an all-boy high school, why does it smell like girls from miles away ?” The boy, Inuzuka Kiba, looked at them both with a smug expression, surely very proud of his joke, which Sasuke considered more than mediocre, but to each their own.

The Uchiha decided to ignore the idiot, but Sai didn't ; his classmate was always quick to respond to derogatory comments immediately.

"It's an all-boy high school, why does it smell like a wet dog is sitting just beside us ?" Sasuke couldn't coin the snort coming out of his mouth.

Sai offered Kiba a smile—so fake that Sasuke snickered again—then returned to his breakfast. Out of the corner of his eye, the Uchiha saw Inuzuka clench his fists and stood up abruptly, returning to his table with his tail between his legs.

Sasuke scanned the people at the table, but when he didn't see the blond head he wanted to see, he looked away and refocused on his food. However, he didn't miss his classmate's mischievous smile.

"What ?" Sai tilted his head to the side and cupped his chin between his index finger and thumb.

"You were looking for Naruto again."

"I wasn't."

"I really wonder what you see in him. After all, what's between his legs is probably tiny."

Sasuke rolled his eyes and wondered if it was a good idea to say that he'd seen what the blond had between his legs in the locker room, and it wasn't small at all.

No, bad idea.

"Shut up and eat your food.” Sai shrugged and went back to eating. Sasuke did the same, but his mind was wandering back to memories from two years ago.

When he arrived at this school, he was angry ; angry at his parents, angry at his brother, angry at the school, and angry at the whole world. Which made him a little—a lot—bitchy with the other students because he needed to take his anger out on someone.

After a month, he had cooled off and could have apologized if only those idiots weren't brainless homophobes. They started by criticizing Sasuke's face, saying he looked more like a girl than a guy. Then the comments spread to his body, then his mannerisms, until everything Sasuke did was considered gay.

The same thing happened to Sai, and after the both of them getting excluded each time, they ended up chatting and exchanging numbers.

A commotion from his left made Sasuke look up from his food, and that's when he saw him. The object of his desires : eyes as blue as the sea and blond hair shining in the sun.

Uzumaki Naruto.

During his entire month of anger, Naruto was one of the students he treated the worst. The blond had tried to talk to him several times back then, but just when Sasuke was ready to accept his friendship and apologized, Naruto stopped trying to talk.

Sasuke had missed his chance, and he regretted it a little. Of all of them, Naruto was the dullest to him ; he threw in a few remarks here and there, but generally, he just observed.

At first, you might think the group's leader was Kiba, with his big mouth and strong personality. However, when you look closely, the one leading was none other than the blond idiot with the bright smile. Kiba was the instigator, but Naruto was the one who really held the reins. If Naruto said something, the whole group followed.

That's kind of hot, if you ask Sasuke.

He took one last look at the table of idiots, but choked on his own breath when his gaze met Naruto's. He quickly looked away and turned to Sai.

"Are you done ?" The other nodded, and that was all the signal Sasuke needed to leave. "Then let's go."

Sai looked at him curiously but stood up from his chair nonetheless, following Sasuke towards the cafeteria exit.

They had PE.

Honestly, Sasuke thought that even if it were the end of the world, Gai-sensei wouldn't cancel a PE class for anything. Luckily, the activity they were doing today was one of his favorites : Running.

Sasuke wasn't a big sports fan, and he hated team sports like soccer or basketball. He wasn't a team player ; he thrived better on solo sports like running and swimming.

He was the fastest in the class after Naruto, and judging by the other boys' dirty looks, their egos had taken a hit. Well, serve them right.

After two endless hours of running in the cold, class finally ended. As the class made their way to the locker room, Sasuke quickened his pace, wanting to avoid waiting in line for a shower. He felt stinky and sweaty ; he needed to wash himself now.

He quickly undressed, grabbed his towel from his bag on one of the benches, and hurried over. Once under the showerhead, he sighed in relief, letting the water wash the dirt and sweat from his body. He only got out of the shower once he was satisfied that he was clean enough.

He dried himself off, then wrapped his towel around his waist before heading to the changing room where he heard a multitude of snickers. He stepped inside and felt all eyes on him.

Okay. What the fuck did these morons do now ?

He walked suspiciously to his bag and pulled out his uniform. Time seemed to stand still when, instead of his ugly khaki pants, he found himself staring at a plain black skirt.

At his reaction, a general burst of laughter shook the locker room. But Sasuke wasn't laughing. Not in the slightest. Glancing toward the bench, he realized his sweatpants were also gone. A dull, burning anger began to rumble within him, ready to burst.

Another wave of laughter erupted, but this time it wasn't directed at him. He looked to his right and saw Sai holding a crop top in his hands. He didn't seem affected, but you never knew with him. Really, they were only a few months away from graduation, how could these guys be so immature ? He scanned the locker room, and the absence of a person confirmed Sasuke's suspicions.

Sasuke looked back at the skirt, exhaling loudly through his nose. He dressed hastily, without paying the slightest attention to his hair or thinking about putting on perfume. The skirt was short, sure, but he'd worn worse before.

Sasuke had never felt so many eyes on his thighs as he did now, but he'd be damned to feel embarrassed in front of these idiots. He turned to Choji and looked at him with a flat stare.

"I'll give you 20 bags of chips tomorrow if you tell me where Kiba is."

The other stopped eating the already opened bag of chips in his hands and looked at Sasuke with a calculating expression. The raven had never seen him think so much in his two years here as he did now.

Finally, Choji answered.

30.

25. Take it or leave it.

Choji hummed, trying to see if it was still possible to negotiate, but Sasuke's face indicated otherwise.

He's in the study room with Naruto and the others.

Sasuke nodded, then glanced at Sai, who waved at him. Reassured that the other was okay, Sasuke left the locker room with one mission : find Kiba and kill him painfully.

He arrived at the study room in less than five minutes and flung the door open with such force that all the boys jumped and froze, their eyes fixed on him.

Kankuro sat on the floor with his back resting against a table, while Gaara had claimed the windowsill. Shino and Kabuto were perched on separate desks, and Kiba leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. At the center of their loose semicircle, Naruto lounged in a chair, his feet casually propped up on a nearby desk.

After the shock passed, Kiba, Kankuro, and Kabuto burst out laughing at his attire. Gaara, Shino, and Naruto remained impassive but the look the blond gave him sent a cold shiver down the back of his neck.

Kiba, that asshole, was the first to speak, while Sasuke was busy glaring at him.

Wow, Sasuke, we knew you were quite the sissy boy, but you've outdone yourself.

Sasuke rolled his eyes and walked further into the room until he stood in front of Kiba. He gave him the most deadpan expression possible and replied cynically.

Haha, so funny I'm dying of laughter. Give me my clothes back.”

Kiba shrugged, giving him a smug smile.

If you want to smell like a girl, why not dress like one too ?

Sasuke wanted to slap him so bad, but so far the bullying he'd been receiving had never come to blows, and he didn't want to give it a reason to. If his parents found out he'd been in a fight, he didn't even want to imagine the consequences.

Still, he was too pissed not to put that idiot in his place.

I don't give a shit about wearing a skirt, but it's fucking cold outside, imbecile.” Sasuke pointed to the window where Gaara was sitting. “We have two more classes, and in case your dog brain is so mush that you are not capable of thinking, I can't go change because we can't go back to the dorm until classes end.

Sasuke's tone grew more and more heated as he spoke, and by the end of his tirade, Kiba's brows were furrowed so tightly that the raven was sure he'd have wrinkles.

Oi! Who do you think you're talking to-

Sasuke cut Kiba off with a snort. Who does he think he is ?

Why do you even have a skirt in the first place ? You're crossdressing behind Mommy and Daddy's back, is that it ?

This remark earned him snickers from everyone in the room except for Kiba, who was completely red-faced. Well, let him be embarrassed, serves him right.

The brunette growled and walked up to him. Sasuke, forgetting entirely about the potential consequences of a fight, stepped forward to meet him. He might not have been as muscular as Kiba, but Itachi had enrolled him in self-defense classes a few years back - and he wasn't afraid to put that training to use.

However, all his anger gave way to confusion when a hand grabbed his forearm and yanked him back. He expected to fall to the floor but was surprised to feel something warm but comfortable under him.

Naruto's voice echoed right next to his ears, and Sasuke froze at the realization that this guy—his fucking crush with homophobic tendencies—had him sitting on his lap.

Okay, let’s calm down before things get out of hand.

The Uchiha watched in astonishment as Naruto's arm wrapped around his waist, but he regained consciousness when he felt everyone's eyes on him.

"What are you doing ?! Let go of me, Uzumaki!"

He tried to free himself from the other's grip, but it didn't work ; Naruto was far too strong.

"What ? I thought you were cold, I'm just warming you up.

The blond's free hand rested on his thigh, causing a shiver to run through Sasuke's body. He needed to get a grip before humiliating himself in front of all these assholes.

"That's fucking sexual harassment, asshole."

He felt Naruto's chest move against his back as he snickered at his remark. Sasuke's cheeks were pressed together by a large hand that turned his face so he was facing Naruto. The blond hummed and looked at him critically.

Hmm... You do look like a girl, are you sure that's a dick between your legs ? Do you want me to check ?”

Sasuke grabbed the forearm of the hand holding his face and dug his nails into it, leaving bright red marks on tanned skin. He hoped he wasn't blushing, but the hot feeling on his cheeks and the snickers and whistles from the other boys in the room told him those hopes were in vain.

I will fucking deck you. Let go.”

The Uchiha punctuated his threat with a kick to Naruto's shin, but Naruto didn't give him the pleasure of a painful reaction. Instead, a snort followed, but the arms holding him back released him, and he stood up immediately.

Sasu-chan has spoken. Come on Kibs, give him his things back.

Kiba sent Naruto a dirty look, to which the blond simply responded with a raised eyebrow while maintaining his smile.

Silence fell over the room.

Kankuro and Kabuto had stopped laughing, and even Gaara, who had turned his attention back to the window once the surprise of Sasuke's arrival had dissipated, was now observing the interaction.

Unsurprisingly, Kiba was the first to crack, and he turned around to rummage through his bag.

Tch.

Sasuke would have laughed at him, but he wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible, so he held back.

I want Sai's things too.

He heard Kiba click his tongue and continue searching through his bag. His pants, sweatpants, and Sai's shirt and jacket were thrown at him. He refrained from insulting the brunette's entire family tree and headed for the exit, to the snickers of the other boys.

A bunch of idiots.

Later that night, lying in bed with only the lamp on his nightstand for light, Sasuke shifted, sleep eluding him. He lay on his back and stared at the ceiling with a defeated expression.

He was feeling hot.

He could still feel the touch of Naruto's hand on his thigh like a phantom burn that haunted him relentlessly. Even the comfort of the mattress couldn't banish the feeling of Naruto's firm, muscular chest against his back. And his voice, raspy and deep, continued to echo in his head as if he were still speaking to him a few millimeters from his ear.

Fuck…”

Sasuke reached over to his nightstand and opened the drawer, grabbing the bottle of lube inside. He uncapped it with a ‘pop’ that echoed through the silence of his room and poured some into his hand.

With a shaky breath, he slid his hand under his underwear and wrapped it around the base of his semi-erection. Slowly, he slid it upwards until he reached his tip, which he pressed softly with his thumb, letting the beads of precum drip onto his hand.

Ah… Shit—”

He thought back to how Naruto had been able to manhandle him so easily, the arm closed around his waist and the large hand holding his face with a firm grip. He whimpered neededly, moving his hand up and down with increasing desperation the longer he continued.

The wet sound of his hand movements and the lube, along with his moans, echoed loudly in the stillness of the night, but he couldn't help it. He felt the ball of heat in his belly tighten and turned his head to the side, burying it in his pillow and muffling his moans as he orgasmed, goosebumps rising all over his body. He continued to move his hand despite the extreme sensitivity, not wanting his pleasure to end so quickly.

Ah-!”

He stopped when it became too much, his thighs clenching and his toes curling. He stared at his ceiling with wild eyes and ragged breaths. He was still twitching lightly, bathing in his post-orgasm glow. He should be ashamed of himself for masturbating over a guy like Naruto, but he couldn't help it. And what kind of homophobe acts like this with 'the school gay' ?

Fucking weirdo.

Sasuke sighed, disappointed in himself now that the heat of the moment had passed. He got up from his bed and headed to the bathroom to clean himself up.

The months passed far too slowly for Sasuke, who wanted to leave this school as soon as possible.

And finally, after what felt like an eternity, the last week of classes before graduation arrived. Sasuke was excited, but he wasn't ; he was happy at the thought of being able to leave this school and return to his old life, but he absolutely didn't want to face his family.

"Sasuke ?" The raven looked to his right and saw Sai looking at him curiously.

It was club time, and by some coincidence, Sasuke had chosen the art club Sai was in before they even started talking. He wasn't as good as his classmate, but he managed.

They were both sitting under the shade of a tree near the soccer field. Today, the teacher, Iruka-sensei, had decided to hold class outdoors, asking them to draw something that caught their eyes.

What ?

Can you pass me the brush that rolled off your side, please ? I've called you three times already.

Sasuke quickly scanned near his legs and found the brush stuck to his left foot. He bent down and picked it up, then gave it to Sai.

Sorry, I was lost in thought.

Sai nodded, then returned to his drawing. Sasuke looked down at his blank sheet of paper and sighed in despair ; he wasn't inspired at all today.

A commotion coming from the soccer field caught his attention. He looked up and saw the soccer team coming out of the locker room and surrounding Gais-sensei as he gave them instructions.

His gaze immediately fell on the only blond head in the group. How can this guy be so handsome without trying ? Sasuke hates him.

As soon as Gai-sensei blew his whistle, the team fell into formation. The game soon began. Sasuke, unable to stay focused, preferred to stare at Naruto. His shorts rode up just enough to reveal his powerful thighs, and already, sweat was making his t-shirt cling to his chest, outlining each of his muscles with tantalizing precision.

After about 30 minutes of play, Naruto took the bottom of his shirt in hand and wiped the sweat from his face with it. Sasuke put the pencil in his hand between his teeth, gently biting the stick while enjoying the view. Suddenly, Naruto's gaze met his, and it was as if time stood still. He was so focused on the blond that he didn't see the ball speeding toward him and Sai.

Watch out!” Sasuke barely had time to duck before the ball made contact with him. This wasn't the case for Sai, who was so focused on his drawing that he hadn't even heard the warning and had instead taken the ball straight in the face.

Shit- Sai, are you okay ?” Sasuke crawled over to the boy sprawled on the ground and noticed he was completely unconscious.

He heard hurried footsteps approaching and looked up to see Iruka-sensei, Gai-sensei, and practically the entire soccer club running towards them.

Oh my! Is he okay ?” Iruka-sensei knelt down beside him and brushed his hair lightly to see the damage.

Sorry, it's my fault! I totally missed my aim and kicked the ball way too hard!” Rock Lee bowed and apologized continuously.

Sasuke knew it was sincere. Among all these guys, Rock Lee was an angel fallen from heaven. The Uchiha would have been better off having a crush on him, but his haircut and eyebrows were far too horrible.

Gai-sensei approached Sai, then crouched down to his level, putting one arm under his knees and the other under his back. He stood up with the poor boy in his arms and offered everyone a reassuring smile.

I'll take him to the infirmary, don't worry! Our training is suspended, boys, go change!” Gai-sensei nodded and speed-ran towards the infirmary.

Sasuke sighed and looked at the mess on the floor : pencils scattered everywhere and Sai's notebook lying on the floor. He began to pick up the boy's things with Iruka-sensei's help while the soccer club headed to the locker room.

Sasuke-kun, could you put Sai's things in the art room ? I'll go check on him.

Sasuke nodded, and Iruka-sensei took off toward the infirmary with an anxious expression. The raven gathered both his supplies and Sai's, then made his way to the art room. He approached the lockers where they kept their personal items and opened Sai's, placing the boy's things inside. Just as he reached to store his own, a tanned hand suddenly snatched his sketchbook from his grasp.

"What-

He turned around and saw Naruto flipping through his sketchbook with a bored expression.

"Seeing as how you were staring at me the whole time instead of practicing your drawing, I didn't expect to find anything in it, Sasu-chan."

Sasuke frowned at the honorific but focused on the sketchbook in the idiot's hands. He stretched out his arms and tried to take it back.

"I wasn't staring at you, and give me that back-"

Just as he reached for it, a hand darted out and seized the back of his neck, slamming him down onto a nearby table. Sasuke tried to get up immediately, but the grip on his neck was far too strong. He heard Naruto tut in disapproval before setting the sketchbook down and casually flipping through its pages with his free hand.

"Ah ah ah, stay put Sasu-chan." The Uchiha was forced to watch Naruto flip through his notebook, completely helpless. "Hmm, this one's pretty good.

Naruto stopped at a page, but the angle of view made it hard for Sasuke to tell which drawing he was talking about.

"You don't mind if I take it, do you ?"

Before the Uchiha could even react, the page of his sketchbook was ripped out. Sasuke could finally see what drawing the blond was talking about. It was one of the doodles he made without really thinking : a black spiral surrounded by several patterns resembling black flames.

Naruto removed his hand from the base of Sasuke's neck and put the drawing in his pocket. The raven stood up and massaged the sore spot after being squeezed so hard. He sent Naruto a dirty look, but it only made the smug grin on the blond's face grow bigger.

"Fuck you, Naruto."

"I'm not the one getting easily bent over here."

A flush rose to Sasuke's cheeks before he could stop it. He wasn't the least bit ashamed of his sexuality -or so he liked to think- but this guy was too shameless, even for him. With a muttered curse, he jammed his sketchbook into his locker and made a sharp exit, not bothering to turn around.

He hates him so much.

It was two days before his graduation.

The boys had organized a party in Shikamaru's room to celebrate. Naturally, he and Sai hadn't been invited, but Sasuke didn't mind. Even if by some miracle they had, he had no intention of going.

However, the loud music down the hall was keeping him awake. After shifting in his bed for the umpteenth, Sasuke sighed and got up from his bed. If he couldn't sleep, he could start packing his bags.

He opened his closet, took out his suitcase, and began to put his clothes inside.

It was already 1:00 a.m. when he finally decided he'd done enough for the night. His eyes landed on the trash bag by the door-he had planned to take it out in the morning, but with the music still blaring and sleep out of reach, he figured he might as well do it now.

Sasuke grabbed the trash bag and made his way to the elevator. He called it to his floor, and when it arrived, he stepped in and pressed the button for the ground floor. Moments later, the elevator doors slid open, and he stepped out quietly, careful not to wake the dorm supervisor and risk a scolding for going outside so late.

Sasuke quickly disposed of the trash and rushed back to the elevator. He returned to his floor and made his way toward his room, only to stop short when he noticed the door was slightly open.

Did he forgot to lock it ?

After a brief hesitation, unease creeping in, he pushed the door open.

He found Naruto standing the middle of his room.

What the fuck ?

What the fuck ?”

He entered his room with a frown but left his door open. He wasn't stupid enough to lock himself alone with that idiot. Naruto turned to him with a surprised look and then looked around the room.

Uh… I was wondering why my room had become so girly.

Sasuke rolled his eyes. Just because he had some plushies on his desk and a vanity didn't make his room girly. He pointed to the exit with an exasperated expression.

"You're clearly drunk, get out."

Naruto snickered and instead of listening to what Sasuke was saying, he staggered over to the vanity and sat down on the chair in front of the mirror. The raven sighed and walked over to Naruto with his arms crossed.

"Naruto, get out of my room.

The idiot ignored him and Sasuke watched in horror as the Uzumaki began touching every item on the vanity.

Don’t touch-”

Sasuke stretched out his arms and tried to brush Naruto’s hands off him. However, he gasped when those same hands grabbed his wrists and pulled him forward.

He fell onto Naruto’s lap, in a position reminiscent of the familiar situation from a few months earlier. Sasuke immediately tried to move away, but a firm hand grabbed his face, squeezing his cheeks and forcing him to face forward. He was forced to look at their reflection in the mirror, while Naruto pressed his cheek against his.

You know, Sasuke, I could have treated you well.” Naruto rubbed his cheek against Sasuke’s and turned his face slightly, inhaling the scent of his cinnamon shampoo. “We could have been friends, maybe more… But you chose to act like a bitch instead.

Sasuke remained silent as Naruto pressed his face into the curve of his neck. He flinched when he felt the sudden warmth of a tongue tracing along his skin and the feeling of his skin being sucked on slightly. A gasp escaped him, and his hand instinctively tightened around the arm wrapped at his waist.

What are you talking about ?”

Fingers trailed from his cheek and slipped under his nightshirt, exploring the skin of his chest. A shiver ran through him, and before he could stop himself, his body arched toward the touch, drawn to the growing heat.

Makes me wonder why you acted like that if you have a crush on me ?” Sasuke tensed, caught off guard by Naruto's sudden acknowledgment of the feelings he'd tried so hard to hide. The blond only chuckled, his hand slipping from Sasuke's waist to rest on his thigh, fingers teasing the hem of his sleep shorts. "You didn't think I hadn't noticed ?"

"Naruto, you're drunk. Stop hmph-

He was cut off by a sudden, forceful kiss. It was wild and deep from the very start, leaving Sasuke no time to process what was happening. And despite everything, he responded. He had dreamed of this moment for nearly three years. He knew he should pull away but he couldn't.

It tasted like sake, sweet and sharp, and the mere aftertaste on Naruto's lips had Sasuke reeling, dizzy with want. He sank his fingers into soft blond hair, tugging just enough to draw a moan-and exhaled hard through his nose, as if that could steady the storm in his chest. His heart was beating so fast that the raven felt like it was going to burst out of his chest.

It was so good, Sasuke could've kept going until sunrise. But then, without warning, Naruto stilled. Sasuke opened his eyes, a frown forming- only to be met with the sight of Naruto fast asleep against his shoulder, lips still faintly curved.

Was this guy for real ? He barges into his room uninvited, tosses him around like a ragdoll, and then has the audacity to fall asleep ?

Okay, deep breath.

First, he needed to calm down or he'd gut this idiot alive. He tried to calm his still-racing heart and make the red on his cheeks disappear.

Once that was done, he somehow freed himself from the other's grip and stood up from his lap, looking at him with a deadpan expression.

How could he get him out of there ?

He considered lifting him, but quickly dropped the idea. Even Sasuke wasn't delusional enough to think he could budge Naruto who was, inconveniently, built like a damn boulder.

He heard footsteps echoing in the silence of the corridor and tensed. If the dorm supervisor had woken up and was coming to check the rooms, things would be bad. He tiptoed to the door and discreetly looked to see who was there.

What a relief it was to see Gaara's familiar red hair. This guy never really paid attention to Sasuke, so there were no bad feelings between them. The Uchiha knew, however, that he was Naruto's best friend.

Speaking of which... Sasuke glanced at the unwanted Uzumaki in his room then turned back to Gaara.

He had his solution.

"Hey, Gaara!" At the sound of his name, the redhead turned and cast a curious glance at the Uchiha. He'd been heading toward the elevator when the raven stopped him. "Can you come get your friend, please ?"

"My friend ?" Gaara walked over to Sasuke and peered into the room. His eyes widened when he saw his best friend completely passed out on the vanity chair. "What's he doing here ?"

I don't know and I don't care. Get him out of here.” Gaara shot Sasuke a quick glance, his eyes lingering on something for a moment before he sighed and walked over to Naruto.

Sasuke watched as the redhead slung one of Naruto's arms over his shoulder, steadying him with a hand at his ribs. Naruto let out a groan but didn't resist, shuffling his feet as Gaara guided him out of the raven's room.

Sasuke stepped forward to close the door behind them, but Gaara paused halfway through. He cast an amused glance over his shoulder-an expression Sasuke found oddly out of place, considering he'd seen nothing but stoicism from him over the past three years.

You should take care of that hickey on the side of your neck ; it could be a problem if your family sees it at graduation.

Sasuke flinched and shot a hand to his neck in a flash. Gaara gave a mocking chuckle and continued walking, his grip on Naruto tightening. Sasuke didn't waste a second closing the door after them.

He stared at the door for what seemed like an eternity, feeling intense heat spread across his face ; he probably looked like a tomato right now.

What the hell just happened ?

He dropped his hand and stared blankly at it. A realization hit him, making him sigh and close his eyes in exhaustion.

He didn't even wash his hands after taking out the trash.

At graduation, Sasuke did everything he could to avoid Naruto. He doesn't know if the blond remembers what happened, and he doesn't want to know.

Still, just as he settled into his parents' car to head home, he couldn't resist a final look behind him

Coal black met sky blue.

Their eyes met for no more than two seconds, yet to Sasuke, it felt like an eternity.

He quickly shut the car door and kept his gaze fixed ahead, not daring to look out the window until the school had vanished from view.

It's been seven years since Sasuke graduated. To his parents' displeasure, but with the support of his older brother, he continued his studies in journalism.

He was now employed by Hidden in the Leaf, one of the country's leading magazines. While his main focus was political scandals and criminal investigations, he occasionally dabbled in other topics

Today was one of those rare occasions. Sasuke was accompanying his boyfriend, Hatake Kakashi, to the pre-release event for a new book by Jiraiya. As both the author's editor and one of his most devoted fans, Kakashi wouldn't have missed it for the world. Sasuke figured he'd keep an eye out for anything worth writing about.

To be honest, he didn't really care about the book. But his relationship with Kakashi was still new—barely a few months old—so he was making an effort. At first, it wasn't anything serious : just two acquaintances who shared the same bed from time to time. But after yet another heated night, they decided to try something more.

It was okay for now, but it wasn't anything special. But why put a stop to it all just because he didn't have butterflies in his stomach ? Maybe they'll come with time.

At the front of the hotel hosting the event, Kakashi pulled up to the curb. One valet opened Sasuke's door, and another approached Kakashi, who casually handed him the car keys.

Kakashi rounded the car and extended his arm toward Sasuke, who took it, wrapping his hand around Kakashi's bicep. They made their way into the hotel, where Kakashi led him to an elegantly adorned room. At its center stood a glass cabinet showcasing multiple copies of Jiraiya's latest work.

Kakashi!” A man with long white hair and a burgundy suit approached them.

Master Jiraiya! Congratulations on your book, it's a true masterpiece as usual.” The two men shook hands, and then Jiraiya's eyes shifted to Sasuke.

And who is this ?” Kakashi wrapped an arm around his waist and gently pushed him forward to introduce him.

This is Uchiha Sasuke, a reporter for Hidden in the Leaf, but he simply came as my boyfriend tonight.” Jiraiya appraised Sasuke with a whistle.

Well, it's nice to meet you Sasuke-kun.” The Uchiha refrained from rolling his eyes and offered the older man the most polite smile he could.

It's a pleasure to meet you, Jiraiya-san.” The man nodded and shook his hand firmly.

From there, the conversation turned to Jiraiya's book, and Sasuke sort of dissociated himself. Despite hoping to make this night productive and try to find some material to work with, Jiraiya's event held no interest for him at all.

Sasuke let the author and editor carry on their conversation, staying silent and playing the part of the ideal arm candy. Eventually, though, he grew bored of simply standing around and excused himself to the restroom.

He felt the weight of a stare following him but ignored it. It was probably someone who recognized him from family or work. Either way, Sasuke didn't feel like making conversation, so he quickened his pace toward his destination.

Upon entering, he let out a quiet sigh, savoring the silence. After confirming the stalls were empty, he finally allowed himself to relax. Leaning against the wall, he pulled out his phone to check his messages and emails.

Itachi had sent him a message an hour ago, and he hadn't received any new emails since this morning. He replied to his brother's text, and he was so engrossed in what he was doing that he didn't hear the bathroom door open and close with a click.

"If it isn't Sasu-chan."

Sasuke raised his head hastily but froze at the sight of the boy he'd tried -emphasised on tried- to forget for years. He hadn't changed except that his hair was a little shorter and he'd grown a few inches taller.

"Naruto ? What are you doing here ?" The blond smiled at him and moved forward with slow but sure steps.

It's my godfather's event, it would be weird if I weren't there.

Of course, Jiraiya had to be Naruto's godfather. Sasuke held back a heavy breath ; why was life against him ?

Ah, I see. Well, it was nice seeing you again. Now, if you'll excuse me.” Sasuke put his phone in his pocket and started towards the exit, but a hand grabbed his forearm.

Why does it always end up like this ?

The raven found himself pinned against the wall with Naruto towering over him.

What are you doing, Naruto ?!

Sasuke tried to free himself but of course he couldn't. He should really hit the gym ; he was tired of being manhandled so easily.

You think I forgot about that night ?

Sasuke froze. They stood mere inches apart, eyes locked in a silent exchange. Naruto leaned closer, his nose gently brushing Sasuke's. When he spoke again, his voice was barely a deep, raspy whisper, making Sasuke's breath hitch and shivers of anticipation run through his body.

That I forgot the way you let me touch you ? How you responded to my touches with the same fervor ?

That was years ago, idiot.” The sudden ringing of his phone made Sasuke stiffen and try to pull away again. However, Naruto still refused to let go, tightening his grip on his arm. “Let go, my boyfriend is waiting.

Does he really matter ?” The question sounded cocky, but the Uchiha felt like he was hearing genuine curiosity.

Of course he does, let go of me-” A body pressed against his, and his lips were caught in a kiss, slow and gentle.

Sasuke crushed his foot on the blond’s to make him move away but the latter gripped his hips with such force that he couldn’t help but let out a groan of pain. The other took the opportunity to insert his tongue, and the initially languid kiss became passionate.

He whined and without even realizing it, Sasuke began to kiss back ; he doesn’t even know when he stopped resisting. He wrapped his arms around Naruto’s neck, digging his hands into his mop of blond hair.

Shit—” Naruto slid both hands under the Uchiha's thighs, lifting him with such ease that a moan of desire, which he tried to suppress, threatened to escape him.

Naruto set him down on the counter and moved between his legs, shedding his jacket before slowly undoing the buttons of his shirt. Inch by inch, his toned, golden skin came into view. Sasuke was entranced, his teeth catching his lip-until a sharp breath escaped him at the sight of something recognizable on Naruto's stomach.

This is…” He traced the tattoo on the Uzumaki with his fingertips : a black spiral surrounded by equally black flame-like patterns.

I told you it was pretty good.” Sasuke raised his head and came face to face with a playful grin.

I don't get you at all… You're playing the straight, homophobic guy, and next you're all over me. How does that make sense ?"

Lips kissed the skin of his collarbone, now exposed to the air with all the movements they had made beforehand.

Guy or girl, it never mattered to me. I was just pissed off because you rejected me back then. I was a dumb kid.

That was the reason ? Naruto had harassed him and let the others do it too ? Sasuke couldn't hold back.

He slapped him.

Naruto stepped back, pressing a hand to his reddened cheek.

"Yeah, I deserved that one."

Sasuke was about to say that he deserved even more but his phone rang again, waking him from the trance that had possessed him.

He got off the counter and took his phone, turned his back to Naruto. He answered the call, reassuring Kakashi that he was fine and would join him soon. As for Naruto, he sighed and buttoned his shirt, not hiding his disappointment through the mirror.

He took something from his pocket and handed it to Sasuke after he hung up.

Here's my card, you can call me on this number.”

The Uchiha studied the card without taking it. He turned to the mirror, trying to fix his appearance as best he could. The last thing he needed was a cheating scandal.

Why would I want that ?

Because even if you're angry now, I know you haven't forgotten me after all these years. And the truth is, I never forgot you either.”

They held each other's gaze in the mirror until Sasuke broke the connection, looking away. Naruto took a step forward and Sasuke felt the subtle weight of something being slipped into his back-pocket. With a final kiss pressed to the base of his neck, Naruto walked to the door, unlocked it, and exited, his parting words echoing behind him.

See you soon, Sasuke.

The Uchiha exhaled heavily through his nose, trying to calm his rapidly beating heart. He fixed his hair and outfit, and once he felt presentable enough, he left the bathroom to join his boyfriend.

He didn't see Naruto again all evening, but the blond was on his mind until he went to sleep, despite Kakashi's warm arms around him.
