The Issue with Clarity

Summary:

It starts, as things like this sometimes do, with a breakup.

Utahime stood facing him, her shoulders squared and knuckles tense on her shoulder straps. Gojo focused on the bead of sweat pooling on her perfect, heart-shaped lips. Better that than to face the silent fury seething behind her eyes.

They really were perfect; soft, delectable, and too kissable.

“Gojo! Are you even listening?” Utahime shouted, sounding barely contained. Her voice really was pretty. She was the star of the singing department for a reason. He personally preferred her normal speaking voice though. On a regular day, the young man liked hearing her talk. She was so expressive, her thoughts laid bare for him to pick at.

Today Gojo was not feeling the same fondness he usually did. Today, her words grated against his skin, leaving him drifting and unmoored, because what did she even mean?

“We should just end this here, no point in dragging out this relationship any longer. I think you agree, yes?” She didn't wait for an answer, already turning and striding away.

He stared after her, looking for clues, because what did she even mean? They were never in a relationship.
