Chapter Text

“Seriously, you spent your entire human life a virgin?” Abby exclaimed as he stared at Jinu with wide eyes. After a beat of silence, he began crowing with laughter. “No way! How did you live your whole adult life with that face and never have sex?”

“I didn’t really live out my whole adult life,” Jinu said, looking down at the rocky floor of the underworld so he wouldn’t meet the eyes of the four other demons gathered around him. He’s sure that his gaze was hard and mean at this point, what with being the target of Abby’s laughter. “I was basically consumed by Gwi-Ma’s patterns at the age of twenty-five.”

“Again, there’s no way a guy as hot as you never got laid in twenty-five years,” Abby said with a smirk. 

“Maybe it helps that I spent most of those years a dirty street busker, have you ever thought about that?” Jinu snapped, feeling hot in the face. He wasn’t sure why he was so offended, it’s not like he ever mused on his lack of sexual experience before. “I was at the bottom of the barrel, no family would’ve given me their daughter to marry! And I wasn’t so selfish that I spent money on a prostitute while my family was starving!”

But you are selfish enough to abandon them on the king’s doorstep, Gwi-Ma murmured in Jinu’s head. Jinu slapped himself on the forehead to keep himself focused on the conversation with Abby, Romance, Mystery, and Baby.

“What about when you moved into the king’s palace, wouldn’t there be opportunities for you to have sex there?” Romance asked. “No one saw you as dirty there.”

“All women in the palace were for the king and the court’s nobility,” Jinu said with a chuckle. “Even if I was no longer spat on in the presence of the elite, I had to remember my place. I wasn’t going to risk my head for a kiss.”

That and I was too busy trying to drink myself to death to truly enjoy the palace’s pleasures, Jinu thought.

“Well, what about the men, then?” Romance asked casually. He smirked when he saw Jinu’s eyes go wide. “What, did you never consider that an option?”

“I-I-I just said I wouldn’t have risked my head to kiss a woman within the court,” Jinu said. “What makes you think I would risk my head to commit an abomination?”

“Is that what you think a man kissing another man is? An abomination?” Romance asked, his eyes growing wary.

“That’s what the scholars said it was,” Jinu said, keeping his eyes trained to the ground. “It’s sex for no other purpose other than pleasure, o-o-our bodies weren’t even built for it!”

“Only when you have no imagination,” Romance scoffed, rolling his eyes. “And men can have purely pleasurable sex with women; you must’ve seen nobles parading their mistresses around. Would you say every day of a prostitute’s life is spent committing abominations?”

“It’s just . . . I always thought of sex as something you did out of love, to build a family,” Jinu said.

“I say sharing pleasure is an expression of love!” Romance retorted. “There are many people who cannot conceive children for whatever reason; should they be denied the ability to have sex? And even having sex with someone you’re not in love with doesn’t necessarily mean you’re doomed, as long as respect and consideration are freely given! The problem I had with the men who visited my mother for business wasn’t that they weren’t in love with her, it’s that they treated her as an object! Who has the right to say that me having sex with a man is an abomination, if I do not abuse or disrespect him in the process?”

“It’s just . . .” Jinu said quietly, feeling moisture form in the corner of his eyes. “Aren’t you afraid that doing such things, even if they were done with love in mind, was what condemned you to hell in the first place?”

“I’m sure what doomed me wasn’t that I had sex with men in my human life, it was that I had sex with one very, very cruel man,” Romance said bitterly. “And gave my heart to him in the process.”

This was the first time Jinu had heard of what ensnared Romance into making a contract with Gwi-Ma. He looked up at Romance upon realizing the weight of what he just shared. The pink-haired demon had a cold, pensive expression on his face. He clutched his own arm with a tight fist.

“Hey, it’s okay, he’s long dead,” Abby said, wrapping an arm around Romance, who automatically relaxed. Abby then turned to Jinu. “Sorry, but talking about this is a sore issue for Romance. You really can’t be calling what Romance and I do an abomination when it has basically been keeping our sanity intact in this terrible place.”

“I’m sorry, I won’t call it an abomination anymore,” Jinu said and he meant it. 

“Perhaps it doesn’t matter,” Romance said with a sigh. “We’re all demons now, monstrous creatures with no humanity left. Who cares if we commit abominations? We may already be committing them by living!”

“I suppose,” Jinu said. 

He himself figured that if he committed such an unmistakably selfish act in his human life, he should continue to be selfish as a demon, as it may as well be the only thing he was capable of anymore. 

“If that’s the case, then maybe I should indulge in the pleasure I missed out on in my human life,” Jinu said. He looked at each of the boys around him. “Maybe even commit some abominations, now that I surely won’t lose my head for it.”

“Is Gwi-Ma homophobic?” Mystery asked. 

“No, I don’t think he actually judged me for falling in love with a man,” Romance mused, cupping his chin with his hand. “Just for falling in love with a violent asshole and running away with him.”

“Well, at least he’s not homophobic,” Mystery said. 

“Don’t worry, Romance at least got to kill said ‘violent asshole’ before becoming a demon,” Abby whispered to Jinu.

“When you say you’re going to commit an abomination, Jinu, do you know who you are going to commit it with?” Baby suddenly blurted out. His eyes darted around the little circle the boys made on the floor. “I mean, the underworld is full of untrustworthy or downright feral demons. You might as well only trust the four of us here.”

“I dunno, I think Jelly would be a good option,” Mystery said before Baby pinched his arm harshly. “Uh, never mind, ow.”

“If the four of you are down for it, why not?” Jinu said. He then looked at Abby and Romance. “Actually, wait, would you two be okay with it? I know you’re a couple and everything . . .”

“It’s alright, we let ourselves fool around with other people because we know we always come back to each other and love one another,” Romance said with a shrug. He balanced his chin on his palm and batted his eyelashes at Jinu. “Why? Do you want to fornicate with us? Separately or together?”

“Uh, let’s just start with a kiss,” Jinu said, suddenly flustered. He looked at Abby. “Can I start with you?”

“Hell yeah, I’m always everyone’s first choice!” Abby said proudly.

Out of the corner of his eye, Jinu could see Baby pouting and he wasn’t sure why. But then his field of vision was filled up by Abby, who took his chin in his hand and pressed his lips against Jinu’s. In response, Jinu automatically closed his eyes and let himself be guided by Abby into the kiss. It felt like a tide, carefully pushing forward and back in a steady rhythm. Abby had tasted like smoke and sweat and Jinu didn’t dislike it like he assumed he would.

If this was an abomination, Jinu suddenly understood why it was one worth risking execution for.

“Let’s all have a turn, just to see who Jinu likes best,” Romance said playfully once Abby pulled away from Jinu. Then he threw his arms around Jinu’s shoulders and pulled him in for a kiss.

It was a lot sweeter than Abby’s, tasting almost like honey. His lips were softer too, almost like what Jinu imagined a woman’s lips would be like.

“Well, I think you’re my favorite so far,” Jinu chuckled once they pulled apart. Romance giggled and pressed a brief kiss to the corner of Jinu’s mouth in response to the praise. “Okay, Mystery, I guess it’s your turn–”

Once Romance pulled away from Jinu, Mystery had immediately surged forward, cupping the side of Jinu’s face with his hand and practically devouring his mouth, shoving his tongue inside the moment the opportunity arose. One of Mystery’s fangs even sank into Jinu’s bottom lip, causing the skin to break!

“Fuck, Mystery, what the hell?” Jinu exclaimed, grabbing Mystery’s shoulder to push him away. If he didn’t, Jinu imagined he could’ve died of suffocation if he were still human. 

“Sorry, I’ve been thinking about kissing you for a while,” Mystery said, wiping Jinu’s blood off of his mouth. “Not because I’m in love with you or anything but because you’re just that hot.”

“Ugh, if you traumatized Jinu off of kissing forever, I’m never gonna let you forget it, Mystery!” Baby snapped, pulling Mystery away from Jinu. “I didn’t even get my turn!”

“It’s alright, Baby,” Jinu said, wiping the blood off of his mouth. “I’m not traumatized, you can have your turn if you want to.” 

Baby stared at Jinu with wide eyes before moving in, almost as swift as Mystery did. Luckily, he did not bring out teeth like Mystery did. Unluckily, the younger demon was so eager that his path forward missed Jinu’s lips and only barely grazed the corner of his mouth.

Abby began laughing again. “Awww, you’re even child-like in the way you kiss, Baby!”

“How sweet,” Romance said with a smirk, crossing his arms.

Baby’s face burned bright red once he realized his mistake, pulling away like the touch of Jinu’s skin scalded him. 

“S-S-Sorry,” he mumbled, completely bereft of his usual smugness. He looked down and puffed out his cheeks in anger at himself, which only emphasized the soft shape of his face. 

Ah, there’s the reason I recruited you, Jinu thought to himself, rather cruelly. That cherub-like sweetness that would make anyone’s heart melt. You could wrap anyone around your finger with a face like that.

Impulsively, Jinu took both of his hands and used them to cup Baby’s face, tilting his head up so that their eyes met. One of his thumbs brushed over Baby’s cheekbone reverently. Jinu couldn’t believe such a young man could be born this beautiful and figured Baby must’ve been spoiled in his human life if he had such a face.

“Don’t worry, Baby, no one said that you guys only get one shot at a kiss with me,” Jinu said and he pulled Baby in for a second kiss. 

This kiss properly connected their lips together and after having kissed the other three, Jinu felt much more comfortable taking the lead this time around. Baby’s lips were as soft as rose petals and the way his mouth pliantly bent to Jinu’s will lit a fire within the older demon’s stomach that did not stir when it came to other kisses he was given. It made him want more and it almost disappointed him to pull away, just for the sake of not embarrassing himself in front of an audience.

When Jinu opened his eyes, he was greeted with the sight of Baby’s glittering eyes, gazing at Jinu like he personally hung the stars in the night sky. There was a brief, breathless moment where their gazes locked onto one another’s that was only interrupted by Abby letting out a sharp wolf whistle, followed by Romance bursting into laughter.  

“Well, I suppose I’ve been dethroned as your favorite, Jinu,” Romance said playfully. “It’s okay, Baby deserves to be the best at something for once.”

“Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?” Baby snapped, turning his eyes away from Jinu to glare at Romance.

“I mean, you were always the worst fighter amongst us, so I guess you deserve the title of Jinu’s favorite kisser to make up for that,” Mystery said, which prompted a series of outraged splutters to escape from Baby’s mouth.

“Awwww, it almost makes me want a kiss from Baby!” Abby teased.

“Fat chance!” Baby yelled, bringing out his claws to swipe at Abby, who effortlessly dodged the blow.

At that point, Jinu couldn’t help but fall over laughing, which made all the other Saja Boys pause for half a moment before joining in on the laughter. Even Derpy and Sussie in the background seemed to smile at the sight of Jinu, usually so dour and brooding most of the time, enjoying himself, even if it was at the expense of Baby’s pride.

When Jinu wiped at his eyes to clear away the tears that formed as a result of his laughter, he found Baby’s eyes locked on him once more, his golden gaze both hopeful and piercing.

Can we do that again, seemed to be what Baby was asking of Jinu, albeit silently.

Jinu could only hope his own gaze properly communicated an equally silent yes. 

Chapter Text

Jinu had only needed to sleep with Abby, Romance, and Mystery once each in order to determine for himself that it wasn’t going to happen again. Undeniably, Jinu found Abby the most handsome out of all the Saja Boys and certainly did enjoy running his tongue over his chest and stomach when he had the chance to. But Abby had also brought a playfulness to sex that made Jinu uncomfortable, like he was roughhousing with a friend instead of partaking in something intimate. Sex with Romance had felt more tender and serious, but Jinu couldn’t help but have the nagging feeling that Romance saved his best acts as a lover for Abby. He also couldn't help but feel that Abby did the same for Romance. 

Jinu disliked the idea of having a lover who was more emotionally invested in someone who wasn’t him, even if all parties were consenting. Even if he knew this arrangement wasn’t meant to be about falling in love.

Mystery, meanwhile, fucking frightened Jinu in bed. Even when Jinu insisted on penetrating, Mystery had found a way to brutalize Jinu through teeth and claws. In frustration, Jinu had smacked him across the face after pushing himself into Mystery until he bottomed out because Mystery had been mauling his neck and shoulders to the point Jinu was worried that a piece of skin ripped clean off if he didn’t put a stop to it. But Mystery had liked getting hit and begged Jinu to do it again. Yeah, Jinu wasn’t into that so after getting the both of them off, he quietly told Mystery this wasn’t happening again. Surprisingly, Mystery was okay with that (thank God).

In comparison, Baby was a delight. Jinu had expected him to be a mouthy brat in bed just like he was outside of it but instead, Baby was sweet and pliant. Jinu never realized how much he liked Baby’s big doe eyes until he saw them struggling to hold back tears as he took Jinu’s cock. He made the most adorable sounds as his body shook back and forth from the force of Jinu’s thrusts, to the point that Jinu often had to grab Baby’s chin to stop him from smothering his mouth against the pillow so he couldn’t silence himself. Baby happily agreed to any position Jinu wanted, any strange request Jinu had. It was thrilling, to have so much power over someone and not be judged at all. Jinu wondered if Baby had previous lovers, either in the demon realm or in the human world, and if they ever enjoyed this kind of adoring attention from Baby.

Strangely, Baby also enjoyed kisses, as many as possible. Perhaps Jinu wouldn’t be so surprised if he assumed Baby’s personality reflected his name and appearance, but he knew the blue-haired demon better than that. He’d almost suspect Baby of putting on an act but there really wasn’t any added benefit to playing the sweet, submissive lover. Jinu certainly didn’t let up Baby during singing and dancing practice just because they were sleeping together. He disliked the idea of playing favorites, especially when the plan to break the Honmoon hinged on all of them giving their best performance. But even as Jinu put Baby through hell, Baby never let up on the adoring smile he gave Jinu at the end of each practice session. Even as Abby, Mystery, and Romance lay on the floor, moaning from exhaustion. If Baby is just putting on an act in order to weasel something out of Jinu later, he hasn’t collected his due yet. 

At the very least, Jinu knew Baby couldn’t blackmail him using their sexual relationship because the others knew. They surmised enough from Jinu and Baby always walking off together alone and coming back with flushed faces. Abby even high-fived Jinu about it. 

So it wasn’t the possibility of blackmail that kept Baby close to Jinu. But if that wasn’t the case, Jinu genuinely didn’t know where all of Baby’s loyalty came from. It’s not like he and Baby ever opened up to one another about their pasts or vulnerabilities. He still doesn’t know how Baby got wrapped up in Gwi-Ma’s trickery. They weren’t friends or lovers, after all. It was quietly understood that while Abby, Romance, Mystery, and Baby were tied by bonds of love and friendship, Jinu deliberately kept himself away from such ties. 

It was easier that way. Ever since he became a demon, Jinu only ever took care of himself. It was what he was good at. 

(Look at what happened the last time he tried to take care of other people.)

At least the other Saja Boys understood that, despite Abby’s constant attempts at inviting Jinu out outside of practice. Perhaps it was a bad idea, then, for Jinu to sleep with one of his bandmates, but Jinu believed that Baby perfectly understood the boundaries of their relationship.

As cute as Baby was, Jinu knew he was a cold, hard menace beneath that sweet face. It was the reason he ended up choosing Baby to be his no-strings-attached companion, after all.

“A hunter who’s half demon?” Jinu muttered to himself as he traversed the empty alleyways outside of the bathhouse where he had just left the Huntrix behind.

The sight of demonic patterns marring otherwise perfect human flesh, the frightened expression on Rumi’s face when she realized he had discovered her secret, the feeling of her body pressed against his as he shielded her from the potential judgment of her friends . . . Jinu couldn’t get any of these things out of his head.

I didn’t even know humans could even procreate with demons, Jinu thought. Is she the only being of her kind in this country, or even in the world? That must be . . . profoundly lonely.

Before Jinu could further investigate this thought, his body seized up and he fell to the ground, a hole opening up beneath him to drop him into the underworld and right in front of Gwi-Ma.

Not this fucking shit again, Jinu thought to himself as he faced the demon lord’s violet flames.

After another loathsome conversation with Gwi-Ma where Jinu promised to look deeper into the mysterious leader of the Huntrix, Jinu went off in search of the other Saja Boys.

“There you are,” Abby said groggily once Jinu had found them. “What took you so long?”

“Sorry, got ditched by my buddies at the bathhouse and had to deal with a hunter by myself,” Jinu said sarcastically. “Why the depressed faces? We had a very successful first day as idols, if I say so myself.”

“We’re exhausted!” Romance said, rubbing the side of his face so he no longer twitched. “You had us practice ‘Soda Pop’ all day yesterday and then once we finally did our public performance, we had to do that stupid variety show and then we had to run away from the Huntrix! We deserve a break after all of that!”

“I want to sleep for the next five years,” Mystery mumbled.

“No, no, no! We can’t quit now while we’re ahead!” Jinu exclaimed. “Tell you what? We’ll spend the rest of the night at the hot springs, since we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the men’s bathhouse while we were in the human world! Let’s take a break there and then get ready for work again in the morning!”

The hot springs were the only spot in the underworld that could be considered a “recreational area.” It was a large pit filled with craggy rocks that naturally warmed themselves off of the scorching heat of the glowing blue water that sprang forth from the bottom of the pit. No human has ever touched these waters but Jinu imagined that based on the frequent hissing bubbles, they would boil to death upon touching it. But demons have developed a supernatural heat resistance to survive Gwi-Ma’s underworld and thus, boiling hot waters felt like a relaxing soak to them.

“Ahhhhh, that’s nice,” Abby sighed once he slid his naked body into the water.

“This is what we deserve after dealing with Jinu’s tyrannical behavior all week,” Romance said as he settled down next to his boyfriend, resting his head on Abby’s chest.

Jinu was willing to overlook the remark about his leadership as long as Abby and Romance kept their hands off of each other. Normally, whenever the Saja Boys took a group bath at the hot springs, Abby and Romance inevitably ended up making out and groping each other, heedless of the others’ presence. Sometimes, Jinu wondered if they liked the idea of being watched.

Mystery dove into the water with all the grace of an overenthusiastic dog and sank into the water until his head was submerged. Luckily, demons didn’t need to breathe as much as humans did and Jinu can at least always tell where Mystery was because his hair floated to the top like a purple plastic bag. 

Baby, surprisingly enough, chose to seat himself as close to Jinu as possible, to the point where their thighs were touching underneath the water. He leaned his head into the crook of Jinu’s shoulder, his breath tickling Jinu’s collarbone.

“Ugh, I hated every minute of the human world,” Baby whined. “Why do they call us monsters when they’re the ones forcing other humans to humiliate themselves on television for other people’s pleasure?”

“Who knows, maybe it’s a sign that we’re not actually that different from them at the end of the day,” Jinu said with a shrug. “I mean, most of us used to live in human bodies, anyway. I bet you used to be a little monster in your past life.”

“No, I was an angel, unfairly persecuted by the world around me,” Baby said, practically pressing a smug grin into Jinu’s skin by how close the two of them were. “How can you imagine someone who looks like me being evil?”

“Beauty gives people power and power makes people do terrible things in pursuit of their own pleasure,” Jinu said, recalling how beautiful women in the king’s court had more influence than their plainer counterparts.

“I have no power, not when you’re the one calling the shots and Gwi-Ma is the one benefiting from this scheme at the end of the day,” Baby said with a toothy grin. “You’re the one with all the power and you’re lucky that I respect you so much or else I wouldn’t be submitting so peacefully!”

“Yes, you’re surprisingly compliant for someone who advertises himself as a brat all the time,” Jinu said with a chuckle.

“Speaking of me ‘submitting,’” Baby said as his hand crawled up Jinu’s thigh. Somehow, Baby found a way to slip even closer to Jinu, almost climbing up onto his lap.

“H-H-Hey, the others are right there,” Jinu whispered harshly, feeling his body flush for reasons not related to the steaming water.

Jinu looked up to find Romance and Abby asleep in their little corner of the hot springs, the former’s head resting safely in the crook of the latter’s shoulder. Mystery, meanwhile, seemed to be content with sitting on the rocky floor submerged beneath the glowing waters. His floating purple hair was the only indicator he was still present with them.

“See, Romance and Abby are asleep and Mystery can’t see us from where he is,” Baby whispered. “We’re basically alone.”

After saying that, Baby gave Jinu a brisk kiss on the cheek before fully seating himself in his lap, locking his wrists behind Jinu’s neck. Then he gave a longer, fuller kiss on Jinu’s mouth, slipping his tongue inside Jinu’s mouth like it was a shared secret.

Though he knew this was a bad idea and he certainly wasn’t into voyeurism, Jinu couldn’t help but hold Baby closer to him. The heat of the water was overwhelming him, making him feel inappropriately lustful.

It didn’t help that Baby looked almost luminescent in the shining blue light of the hot springs. His neck curved elegantly as he continued to swallow the sounds of Jinu’s awe. Jinu ran a hand up the line of Baby’s spine and felt the strong desire to suck off every droplet that clung onto Baby’s skin. 

Jinu pulled away from Baby’s mouth to suck tender bruises into Baby’s neck and collarbones, which Baby happily accepted with a moan. It didn't take long for Jinu's lips to close around one of Baby's nipples, reddening the skin there.

Fuck, I might be so hard, I could actually start doing it here with Baby, Jinu thought to himself. His head was fuzzy and filled with suffused, pleasant warmth. Is what prompts Abby and Romance to get gross in front of us all the time? If so, then I think I can be a bit more understanding, especially if they’re as attracted to each other as I am to Baby . . .

Just when Jinu was about to seriously consider sliding his cock in between Baby’s thighs, he felt something rounded and hard knock against his foot underwater. Suddenly, Mystery’s head noisily burst forth to the surface, prompting Abby and Romance to wake up from their slumber. Jinu was forced to hug Baby even closer to him so Mystery didn’t knock his skull into Baby’s bare ass.

“I thought there was a shark in the water for a second,” Mystery said, not even really reacting to the sight of Baby and Jinu embracing (if he could even see it . . .)  

“Why would there be a shark down here, Mystery?” Romance asked in that concerned but also fond voice he always used with Mystery. “Gwi-Ma only takes the souls of human beings.”

“He should start making demon sharks, that would be awesome!” Abby said but his train of thought was derailed when he saw Baby and Jinu. He let out a wolf whistle. “Damn, Jinu, and you call me and Romance perverts! You were a virgin two weeks ago and now you’re into voyeurism? Baby, what’s your secret magic to turn Jinu of all people into a freak?”

“Yes, I’m impressed too,” Romance said teasingly. “Perhaps if you shared, I can convince Jinu to go for another round with Abby and I~!”

Instinctively, Jinu splashed water towards Abby and Romance in flustered anger, but it only prompted them to laugh even harder. Even Mystery joined in, albeit nervously and like he simply didn’t want to be left out. 

“Ugh, shut up, all of you,” Jinu said, attempting to gently push Baby off of him so they’d stop embarrassing themselves. 

Although Baby did eventually get off, he strangely clung harder onto Jinu for a split second before understanding what the other demon wanted.

Almost as if he wanted to show off to the others what he had with Jinu.

Jinu really hoped he had gotten his claws into Rumi after that first midnight meeting of theirs. Sure, did it end with her attempting to slice him in half with her sword? Yes, but Jinu liked to believe that move proved she was as obsessed with him as he was with her.

And yet, for the past few days, Rumi has been rejecting all of his invitations to meet again. He waited every night for her at Naksan Park, only to find himself alone for hours.

It drove him crazy. Jinu had promised Gwi-Ma he was going to find that hunter girl’s weakness and get her to either open her mind up to the demon king’s prying or outright sabotage the Huntrix from the inside. But Ryu Rumi was more stubborn than he realized.

Frankly, Jinu had hoped Rumi clearly being attracted to him was going to make his plan easier but if anything, Rumi’s attraction only seemed to make her more aggressive towards him, not less. 

After Derpy returned to him once again with a torn-up greeting card, Jinu threw his hands up in frustration and marched off in search of Baby.

Seriously, what’s wrong with this girl? Jinu thought. Shouldn’t she be thankful that I didn’t expose her in front of her friends? If I hadn’t saved her, the Huntrix could’ve easily dissolved right then and there! I wouldn’t even need to continue with this idol bullshit, we’d all be free of the Honmoon by now! And yet . . . . ugh, I shouldn’t be spending this much time thinking about her! And here I was, hoping this task for Gwi-Ma would be more enjoyable than anything else I’ve done for him!

I mean, I’ve never met a half-demon, half-human hybrid before. I want to know what it’s like for her, if she’s ever felt the urge to eat a soul and if so, how does she hide it from the other girls? At least if I get closer to her, I’ll get answers to all my questions. I wonder if she’s ever wanted someone to ask her such things . . .
