~Shouta POV: The present~

Shouta Aizawa was a pro hero and also a heroics teacher at UA high. He was known to be cold, strict but fair, and with a strong sense of justice. And most of all, he was a lone wolf who never let anyone get close.

But that hadn’t always been the case.

There had been a time where Shouta had someone. Someone he could rely on and trust more than anyone else. Someone who he would spend hours talking to after the lights were off. Someone who would hug him close while they talked and dreamed about their future.

That was all in the past though. Looking back, it all honestly felt like a dream. Maybe it even was just that? A dream. A cruel joke or a figment of his imagination? At least that’s what it would look like to anyone that Shouta told his story to.

After all, who would believe him when he said he’d lived two different lives? Two vaguely similar but very much different? Not to mention how those lives took place in different times?

Yeah, right. No one would believe him. Shouta had learned early on not to talk about his ‘other life’.

It was hard though, to look back at his childhood and not think of him, the boy who Shouta couldn’t even remember the name, face or quirk of. Just a bright smile, a kind voice and a strong feeling of safety and love.

For years, Shouta had been trying to remember that boy, the one who was there for him when everything around him was crumbling apart. But no matter how hard he tried, he never could remember any details, not about that boy or about anything else happening in that ‘other life’.

It was the loss of that boy that had hurt the most after he woke back up in ‘reality’ though. The grief he felt when he realized he’d never see his friend again was like none he’d ever experienced before.

Which was ridiculous, right? How could you grieve someone who wasn’t even real?

But for Shouta, the boy had always been real. So very real and had filled him with hopes, dreams, promises and life.

And even if he couldn’t remember any details, he still would never forget about his friend…

~Shouta POV: The distant past~

“Hey! Get back here you villain!”

Shouta’s heart was racing as he ran through the streets, almost crashing into people and getting more than a few nasty glares in the process. Not that he cared about any of that. No, right now he just cared about getting away from here.

It was the usual routine. As soon as school let out, Shouta would grab his things as quickly and quietly as he could and try to get out before any of the other kids could corner him.

Today though, he hadn’t been fast enough. And now he was facing the consequences. The bruise forming on his face and the pulsating pain was a reminder of that. He’d somehow managed to wriggle his way out of the older kid’s grip. But he’d used his quirk in the process, which had just angered the others even more.

Which led him here, running for his life as he tried to shake off his bullies. You know. The usual.

Seriously, what was their problem!? They were several grades older than him!? How pathetic do you have to be to pick a fight with a 9 year old just because they have what they call a ‘villain’s quirk’!?

Shouta grit his teeth as he rounded another corner, anger boiling in his veins.

He hated this. He hated running away. He hated the stupid orphanage he was stuck in. He hated his school. He hated people. He just wanted to be left alone!

He just wanted to disappear!

“Kid! Look out!!” Someone screamed around him, sounding terrified.

It took too long for Shouta to realize that they had been shouting at him. And by the time Shouta turned around to follow the voice, he was already face to face with a truck.

He only remembered seeing his own terrified face in the reflection of the vehicle. Then a sharp pain shot through all of his body.

And then…

Everything went dark.

~Shouta POV: ???~

“Kid? Hey kid!? Are you okay!?”

Shouta groaned and blinked his eyes open. Everything hurt and he felt like throwing up.

“Oh, good. You’re awake. You scared me there for a moment,” Someone, an adult, said to him. When Shouta looked up, it seemed to be some sort of hero based on their flashy costume? Though it wasn’t one he could recognize.

The hero(?) was a big bulky man with a red skin tight suit, white hair and fangs. He honestly looked a bit scary.

“What happened?” Shouta asked, only to wince at the way his throat hurt. It felt like he’d been screaming until it got raw.

“That’s what I was wondering too.I found you passed out at the side of the sidewalk. What are you doing outside this late? Shouldn’t you be at home?”

“Umm…” Shouta stared at the man, before the words clicked and he frantically looked around. He realized that it indeed appeared to be late. Hadn’t it been in the middle of the afternoon when he walked home!? When had it gotten dark? How long had he been passed out on the street before someone decided to wake him up!?

The man gave a loud and clearly annoyed sigh, gaining Shouta’s attention, “Look kid, I really don’t have time for this. I have a patrol to get back to. Do you have someone I can call or someplace I can drop you off?”

“Ah, um, no… No, that’s okay. I can walk there by myself,” Shouta mumbled as he shakingly got up to his feet. He was about to grab his bag, only to realize that it was gone. Meaning so was all of his belongings. Could today be any worse!?

The ‘hero’ gave a nod before walking away, much to Shouta’s annoyance and relief. He really didn’t feel like crying in front of a stranger. But also, what kind of hero just leaves a kid like that!?

No matter. Right now, Shouta just needed to focus on getting back to the orphanage. He had no idea what time it was, but was sure that it was definitely past curfew and he was sure to be in a lot of trouble for being so late. Even more so for losing his things.

With a sigh, Shouta started the slow walk back home.

Only, when he arrived, it wasn’t there? The rundown building that he had lived in for most of his life was just… Gone? Instead, there was an apartment complex that definitely hadn’t been there this morning.

After walking around for another hour or so and making sure that this was indeed the right street, Shouta finally felt the first tears escape his eyes and he found himself curled up in an alley.

He was unsure how long he sat there. But it was starting to get cold and he was both freezing and hungry. With nowhere else to go, Shouta went to the local police station, which was luckily still where he remembered it.

The officers all gave him concerned looks and tried to help him, at first. They were asking him where he came from, what his name was etc. But when Shouta tried to speak and give them his info, no words would come out. He even tried to write it down on a note, but it was like the memory of the names would just disappear each time he tried to express them.

It was frustrating and honestly terrifying to the young boy. The most he could manage was giving them his first name, having mumbled out a meak “Shouta” when they asked for his name. But everything else? Nothing.

Then everything got so much worse when they asked about his quirk. Shouta steeled himself, ready to be treated badly once they learned of his ‘villainous quirk’. But nothing could have prepared him for their reactions when it became apparent that he couldn’t answer that question either.

“I-, I have a quirk! I swear! It’s-, um, it’s called… It does… I can… Why can’t I say it!? And why-, why can’t I use it!?” Shouta rambled frantically, trying desperately to call for his quirk but to no avail. He could feel it, it was just out of his reach. But he just couldn’t. use. it!

Immediately, the adults demeanour all switched, “You’re quirkless?” One of them asked with a sneer, “Quit wasting our time kid. There are actual problems to solve here and if this is some weird attention seeking then you should stop.”

“W-what? But I-, I have a quirk! I’m not lying!”

The adults just rolled their eyes and waved him off before they turned to each other and talked amongst themselves.

“Please I-, I have nowhere to go!”

With another roll of their eyes, one of them finally turned back to him, “Yeah, yeah, we heard you. Look, you said you had no one? We can call someone to pick you up. Does that sound good?”

‘No?? That doesn’t sound good at all! Who will pick me up!? Why aren’t they taking this more seriously!?’ Shouta thought, panic bubbling in his chest as unshed tears burned his eyes.

But he knew arguing wouldn’t get him anywhere. So instead he just mumbled out a quiet, “Y-yes. Thank you,” While lowering his head in defeat. He’d much rather have a roof over his head than end up on the street.

It took a while and Shouta ended up nodding off in the lobby of the police station a few times before someone eventually came to pick him up. It was an old and honestly quite mean looking lady.

“Are you Shouta?” The lady asked with a sneer.

“Yes ma'am,” Shouta answered with a hesitant nod.

The old lady looked him up and down, a clear look of disgust on her face before she turned away, “Seriously. Another null? Why do I always end up with these brats,” She grumbled before turning back to him sharply, “Come on then. You’re staying with me. You should be thankful. Not many orphanages accept your kind, after all.”

Shouta wanted to ask what she meant by ‘his kind’, but he wisely stayed quiet. He had a feeling that it had something to do with the officer's earlier belief of him being quirkless. Not that that made much sense? Sure, quirkless people had become fewer and fewer and he knew they were treated badly, but he never could have realized it was this bad!?

─⭑─

They arrived at what Shouta assumed was the orphanage. And he could only describe it as… Run down. It made his own orphanage look almost like a mansion.

Shouta silently followed the woman inside and up the stairs, where she proceeded to slam one of the many doors open and shove Shouta into the dark room.

There was the sound of someone screaming out in surprise and Shouta could vaguely see someone sitting up on what he guessed was a futon on the floor.

Before either Shouta or the mystery person could react, the woman spoke up.

“This will be your room. It only makes sense to put nulls like you together, so you won’t infect any of the other kids. Now go to sleep.”

And with that, she slammed the door closed and locked it with a ‘click’, causing Shouta to flinch and fight back his panic. Did he just get locked inside a dark room with a stranger!?

“Um,” A timid voice spoke up, “Are you-, um, okay? Also, who are you?? What’s going on?”

“I have no idea,” Shouta answered honestly with a sigh, “I just got here. My name is Shouta. You?”

“Oh! Um, I-, I’m Izuku! And this is, well, it was my room, but I guess you are my new roommate? Sorry I can’t show you around. The lights get turned off at 8pm. Not that there is much to see anyway since it’s, um, it’s kind of small.”

“It’s fine,” Shouta muttered. He squinted his eyes into the darkness. It really was pitch black in here. He could just vaguely make out the silhouette of the other kid from the light coming from the window behind him.

The room fell into a heavy and awkward silence, before Shouta decided to break it.

Shouta cleared his throat, “So… Is there anywhere for me to sleep?”

“Oh! Um, well,” The boy trailed off, sounding uncomfortable, “There's only one futon. But we can-, can share if you-, if that’s okay with you? Then we can ask for an extra futon in the morning?”

Shouta thought it over, before deciding he really didn’t want to sleep on the hard floor. He already had an awful day and he was tired. He just wanted some sleep. And the kid seemed nice enough?

“I don’t mind,” Shouta said slowly with a nod, despite the fact that the other kid couldn't see him, “But um, how old are you?” He asked. Although the kid sounded young, it would be awkward if he was actually a teen or something.

“I just turned 10,” Izuku answered almost proudly, “What about you?”

“I’m turning 10 in a few months,”

“So I’m older than you!”

“By a few months,” Shouta grumbled.

The other boy giggled at that and Shouta felt some of the tension leave his body.

It was a bit awkward, trying to get around the small room while in complete darkness. But Shouta somehow managed to reach the futon and sit down. He chose to keep most of his clothes on, only removing his school blazer, since it was too warm.

Izuku held up the covers for him until he laid down, at which point he tucked Shouta in like he was some little kid. Shouta pouted at that, which went unnoticed by the other.

For a long and awkward moment, they both laid in silence. This time, Izuku was the one who broke it.

“Um, I hope you don’t mind but… What she said earlier? About us being ‘the same kind’? Are you… I mean?”

“Quirkless?”

As soon as he said that word, Izuku flinched hard beside him.

“Y-yeah… That,” Izuku muttered, sounding very small.

Instead of answering, Shouta asked, “You’re quirkless?”

For a moment, Izuku didn’t answer. But then he heard a barely audible “Yes,” next to him. He sounded so scared as he said that single word. Almost as if he expected Shouta to attack him or something.

Shouta frowned at that, “I’m not quirkless,” He said slowly.

Next to him, Izuku tensed up, “You-, you’re not!?”

“No. I have a quirk. I just…” Shouta trailed off as he tried to name his quirk, only to groan when he couldn’t, “I can’t say what it is.”

“I won’t judge,” Izuku offered gently.

“No it’s not that. I mean I literally can’t say! Something is stopping me! It was the same thing with the police. I can’t say my last name, quirk or any other details. I still remember it but it’s like everytime i try to focus on using it or talking about it, it just slips from my mind.”

He expected the other kid to call him a liar or crazy. But instead, Izuku just hummed thoughtfully.

“Were you hit by a quirk?” The boy asked.

At that, Shouta paused. That would explain why he woke up hours later without any injuries. After all, shouldn’t he have been hit by a truck and likely be dead or at least in the hospital by now?? There were a lot of people on the street when it happened, so maybe one of them activated their quirk just before he got hit?

He explained all of this to Izuku, who seemed to grow more and more interested by the minute.

“That sounds so cool!! Do you think it could be some sort of teleportation quirk? Or maybe even time travel, since you woke up after it had already started getting dark!? Wait-, is it even the same day anymore!?”

Now that was a terrifying thought that Shouta hadn’t even thought about before. What if he had traveled to the past? Or even worse, what if he’d jumped days or even weeks into the future!? He couldn’t afford to miss school! His teachers didn’t need any more reasons to write him up!

“I-,”

Just as Shouta was about to answer, there was a loud bang against the door.

“Shut the fuck up in there and go to sleep, you useless brats!”

“Y-yes maam!” Izuku squeaked out, sounding absolutely terrified.

The boy then lowered his voice into a whisper, “S-sorry Shouta. Let’s talk more tomorrow, alright? I can show you around and we’ll figure it out, okay? Maybe we can even get a hero to help if you’ve gotten hit by a quirk.”

“...Right. Thanks,”

Although Shouta couldn’t see it, he couldn’t shake the feeling that Izuku was smiling at him. It was strange, but the kid seemed to have a comforting aura to him.

─⭑─

The night was awkward and Shouta did not get much sleep. He was way too aware of the kid sleeping right next to him and he didn’t dare move too much in fear of waking him up.

This was completely new to him. Other people usually didn’t want to be anywhere near Shouta, in fear of him ‘infecting them’ with his villainous quirk. But this was different. Izuku was different. Sure, the kid didn’t know about Shouta’s quirk. But still. He couldn’t shake the feeling that even if Izuku knew, he wouldn’t mind.

Speaking of Izuku. The boy seemed to gravitate towards him. Halfway through the night, Shouta had been forced to the very edge of the futon, with Izuku curled up right against his side.

And despite the boy claiming to be older than him, Shouta was surprised by how small he felt. Shouta himself was on the shorter side, but Izuku was definitely much smaller.

He didn’t even notice falling asleep. But by the time he woke up, he and Izuku were both clinging to each other and the futon was an absolute mess of wrinkled blankets.

The sun had gone up and Shouta could now see the boy he had apparently been hugging all night.

And the first thing Shouta thought when he saw Izuku was…

‘Oh. He’s cute.’

Then Izuku had blinked his green eyes open and Shouta felt himself blush for reasons he just couldn’t understand. There was just something so adorable about this other boy that made his heart race inside his chest and made him both want to hug him and run away.

“Morning, Shouta,” Izuku yawned, still clearly half asleep as he nuzzled closer to the other boy.

“Morning,” Shouta answered, almost choking on that single word.

It then seemed to click for Izuku just what he was doing and he practically threw himself away from Shouta, who immediately missed the warmth.

“Oh my gosh, I am so sorry!!!” Izuku squeaked, his face bright red, “I didn’t mean to hug you like that!”

“It’s fine,” Shouta answered dumbly, “I don’t mind.”

“You don’t?” Izuku asked, eyes hopeful.

“No.”

Izuku suddenly smiled brightly and Shouta had to fight the urge to shield his eyes from this literal sun that was now in front of him. Seriously, how could someone be this bright!?

There was a click from the door and they both jumped at the sound.

“Oh, we’re allowed to go out,” Izuku said, though he didn’t sound very excited about it, “We better hurry if we want to eat or there won’t be any food left.”

And so, they both headed out of the room and walked downstairs. And Shouta was immediately surrounded by a room filled with rowdy kids.

Apparently, they all already knew of his ‘quirkless status’, judging by the comments and sneers thrown their way. Someone even tried to trip him and another tried to dump food on his head.

Luckily, Izuku had been right there to help him, and together, they had quickly grabbed some food and found a quiet corner where they could eat in relative peace.

Later, while putting the dishes away, Shouta saw a calendar and he got the feeling that something was very off with the date. But he was unable to put his finger on just what. Izuku had mentioned potential time travel. But Shouta couldn’t remember what day or even year it was before he got here.

He got the same feeling when he saw the old lady using a cellphone that looked different than he remembered. But he just couldn’t remember why it was different.

It was luckily a weekend, and Izuku spent the day showing Shouta around the orphanage (and sharing all his favorite hiding spots), all while they avoided the other kids.

Izuku had tried and helped him activate his quirk. They spent a lot of time out in the court of the orphanage or inside their room ‘training,’ but to no avail. Whatever his quirk had been, it was gone now.

He knew he wasn’t meant to be quirkless. But now he was. And he was stuck in this world or time or whatever, living as a quirkless child in a world who seemed out to get him.

It soon became nighttime and they never got a second futon. They doubted they’d ever get one, considering the old lady probably saw it as a waste of money.

Not that they minded, since they both fit on one futon.

They both went to bed, clumsily fumbling in the darkness until they were both laying comfortably. And while it was still awkward to sleep next to someone else, Shouta soon found himself falling asleep, finding comfort in having his new friend cuddled up next to him.

─⭑─

The weekend soon came to an end, meaning it was time for school. And while Shouta had thought that he’d been treated badly before, nothing could have prepared him for the treatment he got as a now ‘quirkless’ person.

Luckily he had been placed in the same class as Izuku. He honestly wasn’t sure how he would have been able to do any of this without the other boy.

The kids at this new school were brutal. Especially one blond boy who seemed to be the leader of the group named Bakugou Katsuki. It seemed like the ‘self proclaimed hero’ had made it his life to torture poor Izuku. And now Shouta, too, since he was also a ‘null’.

As bad as things were though, Shouta strangely found himself preferring this place over where he came from. After all, how could anywhere be better than here, if it meant Izuku wasn’t there to be with him?

No, as awful as things could be here, as long as he had Izuku, he was fine.

─⭑─

Days went by, turning into weeks, which then turned into years. Kids came and went from the orphanage. But not them. Not that Shouta was surprised. After all, why would anyone want to adopt two quirkless pre-teens like them?

Despite getting older, one thing that never went away was their shared love for heroes. And while their views were a bit different, (mostly surrounding heroes in the spotlight) they both agreed that saving people was the coolest and most honorable thing a person could do!

As quirkless kids with no money, they weren’t exactly allowed or able to sign up for any martial arts classes. But they did what they could to train to become strong heroes by themselves. Youtube turned out to be a great help, as well as having an actual training partner.

─⭑─

At 13, Shouta had outgrown Izuku quite a bit. He was still shorter than most of their classmates, but at least he wasn’t the shortest. Shouta sometimes worried about Izuku’s slow growth, but the other teen always reassured him that his parents had also been very short.

Still, despite Izuku’s smaller size, sharing a futon had grown to be quite challenging over the years. They’d started cuddling even closer, sometimes with Izuku even sleeping on top of Shouta for better comfort. Shouta didn’t mind, since the weight was oddly soothing.

But of course, the other kids found it weird. They’d always teased them about how close they were, and would often use one of them to rile up the other.

Lately though, as they’d gotten older, the insults had taken a new turn…

“You two are disgusting! Fucking faggots!” Another kid had spat at them one morning, after they walked into the kitchen while still holding hands, (Izuku had a nightmare and needed the extra comfort.)

At first, Shouta hadn’t really known what that meant and he’d shrugged it off. But then he had looked up the word on the orphanage’s shared computer, and he’d become furious.

He wasn’t even sure why he got so angry. Was it because of the disgusting word? The implication of them being like that? No, no that wasn’t it.

Shouta hadn’t really thought much about what he and Izuku actually were. But when he looked up kissing and relationships, he found himself not exactly… minding it. Not if it were with Izuku, at least.

He never told Izuku about any of this though. It was better if the other boy didn’t know what those disgusting phrases meant or understood what the other kids said. He couldn’t exactly explain it, but he wanted to protect and shield Izuku’s innocence as long as he could.

It came to a point though, where Izuku started to notice that he was out of the loop and eventually became annoyed with Shouta for not explaining it.

The kids had once again called them ‘Gay’ and ‘disgusting.’ But the last straw was when they started writing things on their bedroom door that was too crude for Shouta to repeat.

They had tried to wash it away, but to no avail. All it did was leave smudges of paint on their door. They went to bed that evening, tired and annoyed more than ever.

“What does it mean, anyway? Why do they keep calling us ‘gay!? What is that! Why would we be it!? Wasn’t being ‘null’ enough!?’”

“It means they think we are dating,” Shouta explained with a sigh, too tired to care anymore.

“Huh? Why would that be a bad thing!?”

“Because we’re both boys?”

“Why would that matter!? People date each other all the time! Some aren’t even considered ‘human’ anymore because of their quirks and they are allowed to date! Why shouldn’t two boys be allowed to date!?”

“I… I never thought about that.”

“Shou, do you think it’s wrong for two boys to date?”

“No! No I-, of course I don’t. I just hate that they think it’s bad.”

“Well, they are stupid and you shouldn’t care about them! Come on Shou, you’re always telling me that yourself.”

“I know, I know. They are dumb and can go to hell,” Shouta agreed.

“I never said that!” Izuku squeaked, horrified.

“Yeah, yeah, but you thought it,” Shouta teased with a grin.

“I did not!”

“Sure you didn’t,” Shouta chuckled.

“Did not!!!” Izuku insisted, before he burst out laughing, too.

They laughed for a moment, before they fell silent, still hugging each other. Eventually, Izuku shifted until he could lay on top of Shouta, where he leaned back to stare at him through the darkness of their room.

“Shou? Is it bad if I-, nevermind,” The boy suddenly trailed off and hid his face against Shouta’s shoulder.

“What is it, Izu?”

“It’s just… Am I bad? If I want to date you?”

All at once, Shouta’s brain blue screened, “Um, no?” He answered dumbly, before shaking his head and answering with more certainty, “No, of course you’re not bad for-, for wanting something like that.”

“Do you want it too?”

“...I… I guess I wouldn’t mind it. But only if that’s something you want?”

“I do! I really, really like you, Shouta! I can’t imagine liking someone more than I like you.”

“Same here, Izuku. I’m really glad I got to meet you.”

They talked a bit more, until they eventually fell asleep like that, still holding each other close.

──⭒─⭑─⭒──

Not much really changed after they started dating.

They tried not to show much affection while in school or around others. But when they were alone, mostly in the privacy of their own room, they’d cuddle up close, hold hands and lean against each other.

So yeah, not much different compared to how it had been before.

But it sure felt different. Because they were dating now. And even if their actions hadn't changed, it felt like the meaning behind it somehow had?

One night, after Izuku was feeling especially down, Shouta decided to try and cheer him up. And what started as an innocent playfight, soon turned into tickling, which then turned into something else.

Shouta had Izuku pinned beneath him on the futon and was tickling him, when Izuku suddenly let out a breathless squeal that had both of them pause.

They both stared at each other, breathing heavily. Until Shouta grinned and Izuku barely was able to let out a breathless “No, wait-” before he attacked the same spot on his neck again.

Apparently Izuku’s neck was extremely sensitive, and Shouta loved the noises he would make whenever he found the right spot.

He suddenly remembered how he'd seen people on tv kiss others neck and cheeks and he got hit with a strong urge to try that. He wouldn't kiss Izuku on the lips. Not yet. That just felt too intimidating. Too important somehow?

But he just wanted to know what sorts of sounds Izuku would make if he tried kissing that spot on his neck.

And so, Shouta withdrew his hand and leaned down, before blowing a raspberry right behind Izuku's ear.

The squealed laughter Izuku let out was like music to his ear, and so he did it again, pressing his face close to the other and switching between blowing on and kissing the skin, trying to see what would get him the best reactions.

He kept this up for a long time, until Izuku eventually managed to push him away. He looked absolutely gorgeous like this, his face a bright red, tears streaming down his cheeks and the smile that seemed to brighten the whole room.

“What-, aha, what are you doing!?” Izuku asked between laughs.

“Kissing you,” Shouta answered easily.

“Yeah, but, but why!?”

“Isn’t that what couples do?”

“I-, um, I guess? It just seems a bit one sided with you attacking me?

“...you want to try it, too?”

Izuku stared at him, before a giant grin grew on his face, “We could maybe do it at the same time? Like, um, our necks?”

“It felt that good, huh?”

“Y-yes,”

“Alright then, let’s try it.”

The mood had shifted into something new once again, and Shouta suddenly felt really nervous for some reason. He let Izuku sit up and make the first move. In fact, he was sure he sat still as a statue as Izuku leaned close and moved some of his hair out of the way so he could reach his skin.

“You’re so tense. Relax, Shou, I’m not gonna bite you,” Izuku giggled, obviously nervous too.

His cute boyfriend then leaned even closer and pressed his face against Shouta’s neck, before breathing in deeply.

“You smell so good, Shou,” Izuku sighed almost dreamily. Shouta highly doubted he smelled good, but he wouldn’t argue while Izuku was so obviously happy.

Then, he felt lips land on his skin and Shouta couldn’t stop the full body shudder that went through him. He could feel Izuku smile against his skin, before he moved up to press a kiss against the back of Shouta’s ear, causing him to let out a choked sound of surprise.

That… Had felt really good? Not at all like tickling. Just… Good?

“See what I mean?” Izuku asked, lips moving against his skin and making him shudder again.

“Y-yeah,” Shouta agreed, breathlessly.

He then remembered that they were both supposed to do this, and he leaned forward to kiss Izuku’s neck too. The sound the other boy let out against his skin felt really good, and so Shouta did it again, and again. He soon stopped thinking about what they were doing and instead just chased that good feeling as he continued to shower whatever part of skin he could reach with kisses.

They weren’t sure how long it had been when they eventually stopped. But by that point it had gotten much darker in the room and they were both feeling oddly satisfied and riled up at the same time.

This became a new sort of game that they’d play in their room. It was a sort of competition of who would be able to make the other feel the best.

They never kissed on the mouth, since that felt like crossing some sort of important line. But every other patch of available skin was free play. And Shouta loved every second he could spend kissing his cute little boyfriend.

For a time, things stayed like that. But then things took another weird turn when they both woke up one morning and noticed something weird. Izuku was straddling Shouta, like usual. But there was something hard between them??

Izuku was just about to get off of him, when they both froze at the electrocuting and good feeling that rushed through them at that small movement.

They stared at each other, unsure what to do. Before Izuku moved a little again. And like a damn breaking, they both started moving, just mindlessly rutting against each other and chasing that feeling. He wasn’t sure who leaned into who, but suddenly they were showering each other with kisses and holding each other close as they continued to move. Until suddenly the feeling intensified and Shouta was sure he’d blacked out.

By the time he came back to himself, both of their pants were wet and Izuku was laying boneless above him. Both were breathing heavily and Shouta felt like the whole room was spinning.

“What-, what was that?” Shouta asked between breaths.

“Mhm,” Was all Izuku managed to say as he cuddled closer to Shouta. He was obviously exhausted, despite them having just woken up.

With a sigh, Shouta hugged Izuku even closer and raked his fingers through the now damp hair.

They stayed like that for another long moment, until the wetness in their pants became too uncomfortable to ignore and they staggered to the shared shower to get clean.

It made them miss breakfast, but they couldn’t care less about that, not when it had felt so good.

And so, that also became a part of their new ‘game’.

For a while, things were good. Well, maybe not exactly good, since everything around them still was pretty awful. But things between them had never been better.

They had just started their last year of middle school and were excited about trying for UA in a year. They kept training as much as they could on their own and were determined to become heroes together.

Then, on Izuku’s 14th birthday, they finally decided to have their first ‘real’ kiss.

…Neither of them were ready for it to be their last.

Shouta and Izuku had no idea what had happened. But as soon as they kissed, Shouta started having this weird feeling in his stomach and his whole world started tilting. He pulled back, feeling dizzy.

Beside him, Izuku was panicking. At first, Shouta didn’t know why. But then he noticed that he was glowing, and panic soon settled into him too.

Realizing what this meant, they tried to cling to one another, desperately trying to make him stay.

But then… Shouta was gone. And Izuku was once again all alone.

~Izuku POV~

Izuku had no idea what had happened to Shouta. He could just assume that he had gone back to wherever he had come from.

But even knowing that, Izuku was not okay after that.

People would ask about Shouta, but Izuku doesn’t have any answers. After all, how do you explain someone just vanishing into thin air?

He thought about just giving up. But then he remembered their promise of being heroes. And he forced himself to move forward.

Not to mention how he still wasn’t sure where Shouta even came from. They had theories about time travel being involved. So maybe… Maybe he would meet Shouta again? Maybe Shouta returned to where he belonged and would become a great hero?

With that in mind, Izuku refused to give up.

That’s when he met All Might. And he used training for his quirk as the perfect distraction.

Then, months later, he finally met his boyfriend again.

Only… Shouta was different from when he last saw him. Much, much different.

Just what had happened after they saw each other last!?
