It was a dry, dark night as a few Elekid worked together to cross carefully into the area where the humans rested. They pushed their horns into the horn-shaped holes available there. After they had eaten their fill of electricity, they crackled and glowed with power as they made their way back to their own grasses nearby. It had not rained in days; the grass here was dry and crunchy underfoot. One of the Elekid slipped on something. His arms spun, not for the sparks, but in an effort to keep himself upright.
When that didn’t work, he fell. Elekid attempted to dig both sets of his claws into the ground. One gripped easily, but the other clinked against something as hard as a Steelix. The metal drained his tasty power snack, stealing his charge. He could turn back, but he didn’t know how to get himself back inside to the horn holes without help.
Instead he flopped back down on the grass for a rest. He hadn’t noticed it before but the air was different, heavier than when he had first come this way. No sooner had he thought that then a large drop of water landed straight on his face as though the sky had used water gun on him. A rumble of thunder followed, and Elekid rolled himself to stand up. Excitement coursed through him as pleasant as electricity itself. He hurried to catch up with the others.
They reached their grasses just as the skies opened. Elekid danced and whirled his arms happily to recharge in the strong storm. A sea of dozens of blue-white and yellow horns all bobbed together in the whipping winds while tasty bolts of lightning arced down from above, ready to be caught.
