“Ei, please get out from under there. It really isn’t that bad,” Aether tried to persuade her. The “Great Electro Archon” was currently hiding under a kotatsu like her life depended on it. Her face was the only thing visible and she was tearing up comically.
“N-Never! I absolutely refuse!” she protested.
Aether was recalling what Yae Miko said to him just a few hours ago.
“Ei is afraid of needles?” Aether said in disbelief.
“I know. Silly, right? Well, it’s the truth and she’s currently feeling unwell so I ordered a remedy from a friend of mine. However, this is the only way it can be administered.”
“And where do I come in?”
“Why you’ll be the one performing the injection,” Yae Miko smiled.
“I’m what?! But I’m not a doctor!”
“Oh hush, it’s going to be fine. Just disinfect the spot you’ll put the needle in, poke her and then it’ll be all done. A small bandage and she’ll be right as rain.”
“How am I supposed to even convince her to do this?” he asked.
“She trusts you so you’re the only one who will be able to do this and walk out alive.”
“Great… Well, I guess I can give it a try…” he said in defeat.
He then set out to buy as many sweets as he could carry before returning to Ei’s abode in Tenshukaku and here we are.
“Good thing I asked Sara to vacate the whole building otherwise things would get hectic fast,” he thought.
“Mmmm…”
“Ei, I promise it’s going to be quick. Besides, after that, we can eat all the food I brought here. Just us,” he smiled.
The woman blushed slightly at the last part. Just one shot and she could do all of this with him just like in those novels Yae wrote. It certainly sounded like a good deal.
“B-But the pain…”
“Don’t worry, I’ve got a special trick just for that,” he winked at her.
She felt a warmth rise in her chest at his reassurance and decided to slowly crawl out from under her hiding place. She sat next to him nervously and he noticed her shaking in place. Her nerves were so on edge that she audibly gasped when she felt Aether place his hand on hers.
“It’s going to be alright,” he smiled at her.
“Aether…” she felt her nerves calm even just a little bit. However, she would begin to have second thoughts as he brought the needle out. It wasn’t long by any means but she still gulped and lost some color in her face when she saw it.
“The enemy of eternity…” she thought.
Aether moved her sleeve up a bit and rubbed some disinfectant over the area he was planning to inject. The cold liquid sent shivers up her spine and when he readied the needle, Ei whimpered and looked away.
“Ei.”
“Hm?”
*Chu*
“?!”
Her eyes shot wide open when she felt something wet on her cheek. Did Aether just…
“What did you…” she blushed.
“Aha… I-I guess I worked after all,” Aether also blushed as he put the needle down.
“Did you- wait, what about the needle?” Ei saw him put it away and put a bandage over her arm.
“That’s done now.”
“Done? You did it already?! But I didn’t even feel it!” Ei said in shock.
“Ehehe…” Aether was still reeling from his bold move. “What the hell! You can’t just go and kiss one of your friends! As aloof as Ei can be, she might get the wrong idea!”
“Mm!” Ei grimaced.
“Ei!”
“Apologies. The shock is wearing off and now there is a sharp soreness in my arm.”
“I’m sure it’ll be fine by tomorrow.”
“But how am I supposed to eat like this?” she wondered.
Aether’s face blushed once more, “I-I guess I’ll have to feed you…”
“Feed me? Oh wait, I’ve read about this!” Ei blushed while thinking.
“Well, you can get comfortable and-”
He was cut off when she laid down on his lap. Both blushed heavily as the silence weighed down on them.
“E-Ei?”
“Y…You said to get comfortable. I am comfortable…”
“”What is she doing?!/What am I doing?!””
Not wanting to dwell on it, he grabbed a random sweet and moved it to her mouth. She took it and immediately her eyes sparkled.
She tried to remain dignified but her weakness was clear.
“Mmmmm!!!” she said as she savored the sweet flavor of the dessert in her mouth.
Aether sweat dropped but continued to feed her much to his embarrassment.
Meanwhile, in the Plane of Euthymia, The Shogun watched with a scowl on her face.
“Next time, I will shoulder the burden of taking the needle.”
