Chapter Text
Atlantic Cove, North Carolina, a massive city built on the coast, overlooking the vast ocean beyond the North Carolina coastline. The city's technology is advanced, and it even harnesses the power of solar energy, an environmentally friendly energy source derived from the sun itself, which orbits the Earth at this very moment. There were a great many things to do in Atlantic Cove. It was a lovely home for those who wanted to go on vacation and visit North Carolina.
Many years had passed since the city's foundation, with many people settling in and taking in the sights; however, the people who live there do not expect that today, a chain of events is about to be set in motion that would forever change the lives of Atlantic Cove and give birth to a new generation of heroes.
And it all began at Atlantic Cove University, a college facility near the outskirts of Atlantic Cove. The university is situated on a flat plateau in the heart of downtown Atlantic Cove, just a few miles away from a stunning cliffside view overlooking the ocean.
The university sported a circular pavement with a large fountain at the center, a greenhouse filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers, a series of sidewalks leading to the various buildings, and even a large electronic billboard advertising the multiple events at the university and the upcoming sports events. Its bright lights cast a colorful glow on the surrounding area. The sound of the fountain's water, the smell of the flowers, and the sight of the colorful lights all contributed to the vibrant atmosphere of the university.
Today, in history class, Professor Benjamin Hamilton prepared to make an announcement to his fellow college students. Inside the classroom, as the students began to wonder about what was coming up and worry about whether they would pass their tests, one student was doing his best to remain optimistic about the situation, despite the pressures of college weighing heavily on his mind.
His name was Leo Ryder, he was 19 years old and had an average balanced build, he had blue eyes and red hair, a rare color for hair, and his outfit sported a scarlet red zip-up vest that had white accents along the edges of the vest with side pockets, a chest pocket on the left with a fire symbol on the center of it and a black zipper, underneath the vest was a black long-sleeved shirt he also had light blue jeans with a brown belt and red sneakers.
Leo was known for his optimism and determination. He always looked for the silver lining in every situation.
Leo had his hand on his cheek and his other arm laid down on student desk with a look of nervousness but determination, he knew from experience college was hard, even moreso than high school due to the complex topics, how fast everything went, and especially studying hard for the work ahead and because of this, Leo had suffered a lot of hardships with his college life.
But Leo didn't lose hope, for he had not forgotten the positives outside of college that made this all worthwhile, such as increased independence, deciding his work hours, and expanding his circle of friends. By working together, Leo and his friends had overcome many odds stacked against them in college. Still, he would never forget the support his family had given him over the years.
However, Leo's internal thoughts were broken by the sound of the classroom doorknob being turned, and he instantly drew his attention toward the door as it opened. Many of the other students snapped to attention.
"Here he comes," said Leo with a soft Irish accent, narrowing his eyes and watching a male figure known as Professor Hamilton enter the classroom and begin walking to the center of the room, where the projector board was located
The man in question stood 7 feet 5 inches tall and sported brown-colored short hair, a goatee, and green eyes. He wore a brown casual jacket over a white suit, paired with a black bow tie and a turtleneck. He also wore brown jeans and black boots with grey heels underneath.
Professor Hamilton strode across the classroom until he reached the board and turned around to face the students in front of him. He cleared his throat to get their attention, and the effect was almost instantaneous, as most of them looked at their college history professor of the day.
"Welcome, class," said Professor Hamilton, placing his hands behind his back. "We'll discuss today's assignments shortly, but I have an announcement today."
Leo's curiosity was piqued. An announcement to make? He wondered what it could be. Beside him, four friends also asked what could be up today besides history lessons. They were all eager to know what the surprise was, especially since they knew their work was cut out for them with their homework assignments regarding the Great Depression; afterward, art class and computer science would be in the next few days.
"Now, class," said Professor Hamilton, "I am pleased to announce that in 2 hours from now, we're going to be having an academic field trip to the Rockwell mines, sponsored by Atlantic Cove University's Geological Museum Division."
The class was taken aback. An academic field trip to Rockwell Mines? This was the first time in a while that the university had permitted a field trip. Four months ago, the previous field trip took them to the Atlantic Cove University art and gallery museum. Most students enjoyed the experience, but unfortunately, not all of them did. Some of them found the trip boring or felt jealous of the artwork being stored there out of pride. This unexpected announcement sparked a wave of surprise and intrigue among the students.
Leo raised his left hand to learn more about this new academic field trip. After a few seconds, Professor Hamilton's eyes caught sight of his hand being raised.
"Yes, Leo?" Addressed Professor Hamilton
"I appreciate the chance to get out and about, professor," said Leo as he put his hand back down, "but why are we having a field trip to a mine?" His skepticism was evident in his voice, sparking curiosity among the students.
"Good question, Leo," nodded Professor Hamilton. Rockwell Mines made a remarkable discovery while digging deep into the Earth four days ago. "The committee was quite impressed with what they saw and therefore wanted to promote the mines by sponsoring a field trip and donating a generous support fund for all their hard work lately."
Leo and his four friends smiled at this. Not only was this a chance to explore more of Atlantic Cove, it would also support a mining business and show appreciation for their tireless labors, which they had earned after what they had just unearthed four days ago.
"And furthermore," said Professor Hamilton, "we will be representing the university with this field trip, so do your best, all of you, and be sure to leave a good impression on this endeavor to Rockwell mines!"
"Yes, sir!" Nodded Leo with a smirk
The other students acknowledged their history professor as he smiled at his young students, including five of his best, but he soon waved his hands, silencing the crowd before him.
"All right, settle down, everyone. Remember, we still have two hours until we have to leave, so let's cover today's class. Stay focused, okay?" said Professor Hamilton, getting nods from his students before he turned around to the board, reached for a chalk stick, and prepared to draw on the board. "Very good, all of you. Now here is today's subject..."
Leo and his friends braced themselves; they knew they had a long day ahead of them, but behind them, they could go home and knock out their homework assignments...
2 hours later...
It was soon time for the field trip to Rockwell Mines, outside the university's main building. Three campus buses rolled to the curb, with two parked in the front spaces and the third on the left side of the road.
The enlisted college students poured into each of the campus buses. Leo and his friends got on the first campus bus on the front curb before the rest boarded their buses. With the representative students all loaded, they soon rolled into action for the Rockwell mines, with the third bus following the first two buses to their destination.
35 minutes later, they arrived at their destination, Rockwell Mines. It was a large mining facility situated on the side of a grey rock mountain, with a snow-covered area at its summit. Three holes were seen at the lowest part of the mountain, supported by wooden railings. They had rail tracks that each served as the main entrance to the mine shafts.
Six meters out to the right side, however, a large crater hole could be seen leading several feet downwards with a spiral roadway, where down below, many digging machines were hard at work, mining for new minerals for resources and, on rare occasions, finding crystals to be put on display or for jewelry accessories.
The campus buses rolled slowly into a checkpoint post guarding the road to the mines. One by one, the three bus drivers each showed their identification cards to the security guards posted there, and the bar blocking their way was lifted, allowing the campus buses through one at a time.
The buses were parked in different parking spaces, big enough to support them in a large parking area just near the main building of Rockwell Mines. The bus drivers then briefed their passengers on what would happen when they got inside the principal office of Rockwell Mines. Eventually, the campus buses' doors opened, releasing a flood of college students who had gathered to see the gigantic mining facility and show their support.
From a section of the masses of students, Leo Ryder stepped outside, wiping the sweat on his forehead to admire the building in front of him,
"Whew, we're finally here, huh, guys?" Sighed Leo with relief
"Yeah, you bet, Leo!" A male voice said behind him, "Never really thought I'd be out this far from Atlantic Cove!"
Leo turned his head to see four figures approaching him after he squeezed out of the campus bus, with many students still pouring out. The voice belonged to a young man named Samuel Williams. He was 21 years old, with brown hair and light blue eyes. His outfit included a navy blue T-shirt and a long white shirt underneath. He wore a necklace holding a shark tooth from a gift shop. He wore jeans and brown sneakers.
The second male figure, Maverick Ford, was the second tallest in the group, standing at 6'3 "tall. He had Caucasian skin, black hair, and brown eyes. He wore a yellow puffer vest over a grey short-sleeved T-shirt with black wristbands, normal jeans, and black sneakers featuring yellow lighting markings on the sides.
The first female figure walking up next to Leo was a young lady named May Robin. She had light blue eyes, wavy brown hair with green-dyed accents, and a slight muscle build developing on her body. She wore a green short-sleeved T-shirt with a turtleneck, knee-length light jeans, and white running sneakers.
The second female figure, Susan Hawkins, was the tallest member of the group. She had light brown skin, waist-length blonde hair, wavy ends, and green eyes. She wore a pink sleeveless shirt, gold bracelets, knee-length jeans, and white hiker boots. Normally, she would rather wear sandals, but the dress code and the situation required her to wear proper footwear.
"It's such a beautiful day out here!" Smiled Susan with excitement, looking at the sky above her, her hands on her hips
"Yep, the sky's looking beautiful out 'ere, mates!" Said Maverick with an Australian accent, holding out a hand to shield his eyes from the sunlight, "still can't believe we got an academic field trip all the way out 'ere!"
"Yeah, usually we'd be able to come here on our own!" Noted, Samuel. "I wonder what changed?"
"It might be because we haven't had to go all the way out here before," said Leo with a hand on his chin, "that or none of us had been here before."
"True, but hey, we're here now!" Said May, "So let's have fun! Alright?"
"Yeah, and we better get going," said Samuel, pointing a finger at the students coming toward the main office, "we're gonna lose 'em!"
"Oh, right! I'm sorry," said Leo, rubbing his head. "Let's hurry!"
The five college students soon joined the others and followed them into the office, where they were debriefed on their experience inside the mines and given a tour of the caverns. They learned about all they had discovered and the resources they had unearthed for future technological developments and, by extension, weaponry.
For that, they were honored with a grand tour inside the mines. Each of the miners on duty led different groups of students inside the mineshaft to ensure their safety and prevent trouble. Soon, the groups were formed, and each was assigned a tour guide. The Rockwell mines tour was underway.
A few minutes later, Leo and his friends were walking down a mine shaft led by a miner manager. Beside them, some of the workmen were still busy digging for rocks and ores.
"As you can see here," said the manager in a gruff voice, stretching out his right hand towards the current drilling work, "we've been working hard to collect some iron, gold, and, on rare occasions, crystals!"
"You guys rarely find crystals down here?" Asked Samuel with a raised eyebrow
"Yeah, we're used to finding lots of iron down here," explained the tour guide, leading his group deeper into the mines. "In fact, this area was rich in iron, which was one of the reasons we started digging down here. Of course, we found gold and got the fever, but crystals were even more scarce."
"So then what makes these kinds of crystals so special?" Asked with curiosity
"Well, when we found them, there were five different types of crystals," the tour guide said, turning his head to look at the group he was leading. "Surprisingly, they were all found in one place when we dug down here!"
"All five in one place, you say!?" Gasped Leo with widened eyes
"Crikey! What were they all doin' in one place!?" Exclaimed Maverick with surprise
"Well, to be honest, none of us here can figure that out," shrugged the tour guide. "We were hoping to get an archeologist to figure out what they are, but we've had some trouble getting in touch with one."
"I can't believe you guys managed to find five kinds of crystals in one place," said Susan, amazed
"Yeah, me neither, but we may as well have struck gold with finding five kinds of crystals in one place!" Said the tour guide, "At least until the museum gets a hold of 'em..."
"Hey, I'm sure those five will look great on display!" Said may
"I sure hope so, we worked hard to get them after all," said the tour guide as he turned his head away and continued walking
"So, after this, what do you guys wanna do?" Asked Leo, addressing his friends
"After I take care of homework, I think I'm gonna catch up on some art projects," said Susan
"Well, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do right now," said Samuel, "but I do know that we're gonna relax."
"Same 'ere mate!" Said Maverick, "What about you, Leo?"
"I have some art projects of my own to work on, actually," said Leo, "but I also have martial arts practice later this week."
"I'm glad you're keeping up with your training, Leo!" Said Samuel, "Mind if we drop in sometime?"
"Of course!" Said Leo, "If you guys can fit it into your schedule, though..."
From time to time, Leo would practice in martial arts at a dojo a few miles from his home and campus apartment, at first he had practiced alone with his students, but as time went on, as Leo met his friends in college they all slowly but surely started to train together in martial arts, inspired by Leo's tenacity and determination with the self defense exercise.
As the tour progressed, Susan admired the various mined ores and the crystals the miner had discovered, ranging from lapis lazuli to calcite. After a few minutes of walking, her eye caught something, a sight that would spark a change in their lives.
"Guys..." gasped Susan, pointing a finger at what she saw were beautiful crystals. "Take a look at those!"
Leo and his friends followed where Susan's finger was pointing to find, to their astonishment, five obelisk-shaped crystals. One was red, the next was blue, and the last three were yellow, green, and pink. Strangely, they were shinier than the other crystals and gave out an ominous glow of power.
"Ah, I see you've found our recent discovery!" Said the tour guide, catching everyone's attention, "Those are the crystals I was talking about."
"Those are the crystals you guys found?" Asked Leo
"They sure are, son!" Said the tour guide, "As you know, we found them four days ago, but we haven't been able to move those guys at all."
"Wait, you guys couldn't pull those rocks out?" Asked May, surprised at the fact that these special crystals haven't been extracted yet
"Yeah, we tried pulling those little guys out of those rocks, but it turned out to be easier said than done," said the tour guide, recalling how those special crystals had been stuck in those rock formations since they were unearthed. "We tried almost everything, and now we need more heavy-duty equipment to get those things out of there."
"Incredible!" Breathed out Samuel with astonishment
"You're telling me!" Said the tour guide, sharing Samuel's surprise, "Well, the equipment should be here in a few days, and I'm hoping they'll get here in time."
"Let's hope, mate!" replied Maverick
"You and me both, son," said the tour guide before getting his group's attention. "Now then, any questions?"
Leo couldn't help but look at the strange, multi-colored minerals as the tour guide waited for questions. How beautiful they looked, and how strangely shaped they were, like obelisks. A part of him didn't believe that the five types of crystals being unearthed in one place were a mere coincidence; there was something bigger afoot...
And yet, a part of Leo couldn't help but feel drawn toward the crystals, he wanted to admire them more unclose, and little did he know, his friends shared the same feeling as well, they knew they still had another hour before they had to return to the university, and so Leo turned his head to the tour guide in front of him.
"Hey, sir?" Asked Leo, getting the tour guide's attention
"Yeah?" Replied the tour guide
"Is it okay if we get a closer look at the crystals?" questioned Leo
"Yeah, they must look even prettier up close!" Said Susan with a smile
"Yeah, I suppose it couldn't hurt," shrugged the tour guide before gesturing to follow him, "this way, please."
"Thank you, sir," nodded Samuel as he and the others followed the tour guide closer to the crystals they had found
Leo and his friends were led closer to the strange crystal obelisks. They were even more astonished to see them up close. The tour guide then stopped them by raising his hand and turned to face them.
"Now, you guys may look at them," said the tour guide, "but if you touch them, do it gently; those babies may be quite delicate."
"We'll do our best to be careful with them, sir," nodded Leo. "Come on, guys."
The five college students each approached the five colored crystals, which were just low enough that Leo and his friends could easily grab them. Still, the tour guide had earlier told them to be careful and that they were planning to take them to the nearest archaeological museum for display.
Leo walked towards the red crystal while his friends each approached the remaining four crystals. Samuel admired the blue crystal while the others looked at the green, yellow, and pink ones.
"Wow, these crystals are incredible," said Leo, taking a liking to the red crystal in front of him
"I'll say," replied Samuel, looking at the blue crystal as it was his favorite color, "and they found five of these in one place here..."
"Yeah, but you can't deny how beautiful they look," commented Susan while she admired the pink crystal
"Very true, but where did these kinds of crystals come from?" Wondered May, as she looked at the green crystal
"I can't say for sure," thought Maverick, putting a hand on his chin, wondering about the yellow crystal and the others around it, "but somethin' tells me we've stumbled onto something big mates..."
Leo nodded in agreement, but as he and his friends continued to look at the crystals, they were tempted to touch them, to feel the spiritual energies that crystals are known to possess, an unconscious effect, so to speak. Still, thinking about how the museum would eventually get them, they gave in.
"Well, I guess it couldn't hurt," caved Leo, reaching towards the red crystal.
"That's what they always think..." muttered May as she reached to touch the green crystal. She had seen enough media to know where this was going.
"Hey, if anything comes up, we'll handle it," said Samuel confidently as he reached to touch the blue crystal. "...I hope"
"I guess we'll find out together, won't we?" Said Susan, reaching for the pink crystal in front of her
"We sure will," said Maverick, reaching for the yellow crystal
The five college students each placed their hands on their respective crystals and felt the smooth surface. When the crystals suddenly started to glow brighter than before, the tour guide, Leo, and his friends widened their eyes in surprise. Just as the glow around the crystals intensified, a wise male voice echoed in their minds.
"YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN!"
And then, just as the mysterious telepathic voice rang out in their heads, an explosion of light occurred, blinding the college students and the miners temporarily before the bright light diminished, revealing Leo and his friends unharmed, and the crystals' glow returned to normal. Everyone present looked amazed at what had just transpired before their very eyes,
"Whoa! What just happened?" Gasped Leo, rubbing his eyes, "Are you guys alright?"
"Yeah...I guess," said Susan, shaking her head out of her stupor, "but what in the world was that!?"
"Are you kids alright?!" Asked the tour guide, running beside him were four more miners who stopped what they were doing to help out
"Yeah...somewhat..." grunted Leo, recovering from the blinding light, "but I don't know what hit us..."
"Me neither..." said Maverick, having just regained his eyesight, "but whatever that light was...it was the brightest thing I ever saw!"
"I'm sorry you guys got blinded," said one of the miners. "If you want, we can take you back outside."
"I think that would be nice...thank you," panted May, getting over her shock of the bright light of the crystals.
"Thank you, miss," said the tour guide before beckoning them with a wave of his hand, "right this way, all of you."
"Thank you, sir," said Leo in a dazed voice
The tour guide led Leo and his friends back outside the mines to conclude the tour and ensure their recovery, they had a good time at the mines nonetheless, but what was on their minds however, was why the crystals had glowed so brightly to the point they engulfed the five college students, and who or what was that mysterious voice that told them they were chosen, chosen for what?
Little did they know, however, that this was only the beginning.
Meanwhile, on an island connected to Atlantic Cove by a giant bridge, a large complex was situated in the heart of the island. It was situated on a large mountain, with a substantial cave located on the right side that led into a deep cavern.
The complex itself featured a hexagon-shaped building, painted black at the bottom with bright blue colors at the top, accented with white. On top of the building was a cyan colored giant glass dome; there was a logo on the building that featured a silver shield logo with words underneath it that read "Fort Hydro."
On the right side of the complex, a giant runway was used to park or land aircraft. There are three hangars on the sides of the runway to park the aircraft stationed there.
Despite this, the area surrounding the complex was lush and still had blooming plant life. Around the edges of the island, there were beaches everywhere, save for a large dock that led into a cavern located northeast of the island.
Inside the massive command center, the monitor screens were registering strong energy readings somewhere on the outskirts of Atlantic Cove, and operators were working around the clock to pinpoint the source of these readings.
"S-sir!" One of the operators said in a panic, "We're getting some strong energy readings just now!"
"What is it?" Said the captain, coming up to the operator who was working on the monitor
The captain was a tall man dressed in a dark navy military uniform, adorned with three medals on the right chest plate of his jacket. He also wore white combat boots and a combination cap signifying his rank. He had black hair and brown eyes.
"I don't know Captain Palmer," said the operator, trying to pinpoint the source of the energy spike, "but it seems like these readings are coming from somewhere in Atlantic Cove!"
"Can you find out where?" Asked Captain Palmer, feeling concerned at this new development
"I'll do my best, captain," said the operator, who then fiddled with the instruments on the radar until he found the source of the energy readings. "I got it, sir! It's coming from...outside of town!?"
"What!?" Gasped Captain Palmer, "Are you sure?"
"I'm positive, sir!" Confirmed the operator, "It seems to be coming from Rockwell Mines!"
"Quick, put it on the screen!" Ordered Captain Palmer to turn his head to the giant monitor screen on the top of the room
"Yes, sir!" Said the operator, pressing a button to transfer the data to the main monitor
The giant screen flashed to life with a white light. It then dimmed down in a second to reveal a map of Atlantic Cove from satellite imagery. The map view showed a green scope icon, and then the map zoomed in and moved across the map until it landed on Rockwell Mines. The screen then showed a top-down photo of the mining facility. The staff was astounded by this new information.
"That's where Atlantic Cove University hosted an academic field trip to donate funds!" Said Captain Palmer
"Yeah! I read about it online today!" A woman rushing up to Captain Palmer said, "I wonder if anything's happened to those poor kids."
The woman had short, dirt-blond hair, green eyes, and wore a dark blue uniform over a lighter blue combat vest, accompanied by black leather gloves and combat boots.
"Hopefully we'll find out, Lieutenant Reese!" reassured Captain Palmer before issuing his next orders, "Attention! Organize an investigation team and search Rockwell Mines for the source of those energy readings."
"Yes, sir!" Said the staff, scrambling to do as they were ordered before Captain Palmer spoke again
"And while you're at it, please ensure those kids and our team return safely!" Continued Captain Palmer
"Roger!" said the staff before resuming their duties
As the personnel of Fort Hydro scrambled to investigate this mysterious shockwave of energy, little did they suspect that one hour earlier, something was stirring inside the cavern next to the main complex of the island base, as if their energy signature was powerful enough to awaken it after countless millennia.
Inside the command center, Captain Palmer stood in the middle of the monitoring station, awaiting an update from the investigation team. They had just departed fifteen minutes ago for Rockwell Mines. Captain Palmer waited anxiously until, suddenly, a voice rang out in the large room.
"It is time," echoed a wise female voice around the room, "the time has come."
The voice that had just spoken out alarmed everyone in the room; they all shuddered to themselves about where that voice originated. As they panicked, Captain Palmer searched the room for where that voice came from. He instinctively went for his laser gun, reaching his right hand into his uniform's internal pocket, ready to defend himself and the staff if necessary.
"Wh-who are you!?" Exclaimed Captain Palmer in surprise, "Identify yourself right now!"
The captain's answer came in the form of a bright white light, causing everyone to shield their eyes from being blinded by the strange light, as captain palmer turned towards the light, it suddenly started to take the shape of a tall beautiful woman,
the alien woman's body was made of complete white crystalline skin and had hair shaped like a crown of crystal, she had beautiful gold yellow eyes, she wore gold arm cuffs on the upper arms, a gold head band on her forehead, her outfit sported a white sleeveless top with gold accents, small shoulder guards, black armored pants with gold sandals on her feet.
The woman was holding in her right hand a golden staff with a white crystalline star at the top, while the bottom of the staff had a gold sphere.
The staff of Fort Hydro stared in awe at the awesome spectacle before them. This beautiful woman had teleported right into the middle of their base and didn't know what to make of her. Even now, the woman glowed with a white light of power and looked peaceful, but some of the staff tensed and prepared to defend themselves when the woman spoke again.
"Please calm down, humans," the strange alien woman soothed, waving her free hand. "And please listen to what I have to say; we have much to discuss."
"Why? Why should we trust you?" Questioned Captain Palmer firmly, a part of him, however, was tranquilized by this woman's strange aura surrounding her
"Because, if you do not heed my words," the woman warned, with a pleading look on her face, "I fear neither the planet Earth nor the galaxy will survive what comes next."
Deciding to hear her out after hearing the danger she spoke of, Captain Palmer had ordered everyone to stand down and listen to what the beautiful alien woman had to say. It was going to be a long discussion.
But as these events were occurring on planet earth, many miles across the galaxy there was a gigantic spaceship roaming in that sector of the cold void of space, smashing through all the asteroid's in it's path, it was shaped like a metallic manta ray with a hammerhead-like bow, in the center of a bow was an enclosed tube as if it was a powerful cannon hidden inside, there were neon lights around the ship colored green.
In the centers of the two giant wings, where large metal spheres were also colored crimson, they served as major hubs of the ship. The bridge itself was shaped like a trapezoid; in the center of the bridge was a green dome, while the stern of the spaceship hosted two giant fins.
The back of the ship had two main thrusters in the back with two quad-thrusters on the sides with yellow flames coming out of them, the bottom sides of the vessel had two cargo holds for carrying spacecraft, the hull of the spaceship itself was colored crimson red with black accents, while the tops were gunmetal grey.
Around the ship, it was armed to the teeth with missile launchers on the sides, round laser turrets with four barrels on the flanks, and finally possessed what appeared to be two round shield generators on the sides of the giant manta-like wings around the ship, making the spaceship look like a flying space fortress for its crew inside.
The giant spaceship had been wandering the universe as if it were searching for something, until it had just now received a signal in its navigation systems. The crew locked onto the signal, which displayed specific energy signatures, and saw that they led to the planet Earth, millions of miles away from their current location.
The crew inside the ship plotted a course for Earth and steered it in the direction of Earth. They boosted the ship's engines, increasing speed until, with an explosion of energy, the spaceship jumped to lightspeed toward the Milky Way galaxy with a new mission, to obtain the source of those energy signatures and finish what they had started many millennia ago...
And now, a new battle for the fate of the universe is about to begin.
To Be Continued...
