Chapter 1: Bus(bet) you weren’t expecting that, were you….
Chapter Text
You hated Cadence with a passion.
Why did she have to ruin you. You..
The real you.
The one you would always cheerfully greet others. The one who would always comfort when someone needed it the most.
The one who always loved to yap on starry nights, say a punchline whenever it was movie night, the one available to tell the classic stories they had loved to talk about. You just wanted things to go back to the way they were. When you were happy and content with life. The times when you had time to release the version you felt best in.. Whatever felt real to you. Now—it felt like your life was empty. Drained out. As if it needed color and maybe even troubled.
You adjusted your black headphones, then turned the volume of your music up. You continued to walk, the scowl on your face very much present. You tugged on the white hoodie you had on and stuffed it over your head. Warm. Cozy. Reminding.. But still nice. Plus- it was cold out. Very. Now onto Cadence once more. Your sister. Bratty, attentive. You haven’t seen her since she bullied you five years ago. But you were pretty sure you could live with that, you, yourself, and you. Yep. That’s all you needed. Oh! And your cat- can’t forget that fluff-ball.
You named em’ milk.
Yeah MILK.
Silly fluffy white ball of fur.
You wouldn’t trade your munchkin cat for the world. Your lucky Cadence didn’t make any moves to take them from you.
Golly you couldn’t wait to get back to your apartment and continue living your sort of miserable life. Freezer cooked dinners, microwave noodles- and unhealthy sodas are all you could ever want. Oh! And desserts. Yeah, very foodie behavior but… It tastes delicious. Scrumptious, even! Well.. Depends if you’re used to particularly eating that kind of stuff.
As you walked you failed to hear the screams of terror of a bus going over 100 miles per hour and the sounds of it starting to bust down- it speeds near the sidewalk—the people in it shriek. Their blood curling screams didn’t occur to you, your headphone quality being way too good. Your shoulders relaxed as you stretched your limbs; very much unaware of the danger and pain that would very much make your life way more miserable. You should move out the way. But- likewise, you are unaware. Of death flickering and time excited to cut your strings.
The bus is almost out of energy- and has been stopped.
Or so people thought.
It began to tilt- right where you were very much slowly walking. Andddddddddd—
It didn’t crush you to death.
You tilt your head and glanced at the halfway tilted bus, that was very much about to kill you. Then your eyes widen as your skin slightly paled. Holy shit that could’ve been you. But- it wasn’t.. That’s a bonus.. Right? Right.. You hear a grunt as you now notice a skeleton beside you, his hands open as a soft Cobalt Blue emitted from them. Magic. He is currently holding a 50,000 pound bus with magic.
That’s something you DONT see everyday.
You feel the beads of sweat forming on your forehead as the magic gently pushes the very much dismantled bus to stand in a crooked way but at-least much more likely to not tilt over and kill someone as stupid as you.
Chapter 2: Bus (better) get going!
Summary:
“Breaking news, random teenager nearly gets hit with a bus! What happens next is SHOCKING a monster saves her! Maybe monsters are aren’t the villains most of us have sought them out to be. Details at five pm tomorrow! Stay tuned everyone.”
The blond lady laughed and spun in a circle.
“I’m 22..”
That lady don’t really care.
“Wait a second did you just call me a girl..?”
Notes:
Another short chapter because I’m writing this from discord on my phone.. I’m trying to wait until I get a laptop to write longer stuff.. It’s taking longer due to the seller I was gonna get it from not responding so I’m going for plan b and buying a fresh one again..
Chapter Text
Yeah you were very much being scolded by a lot of officers, and they were warning you to keep your headphone volume at reasonable volume; especially during your walks now.
Just peachy.
Exactly what you needed..
Besides that your eyes would flicker over to the skeleton. He looked rather freaked out for a few seconds—those white pupils he had weren’t there during that moment. And he looked sort of angry. But right now he kinda looked like an overly happy yet relaxed and laid back doofus. No offense to him it’s just- you can’t really take him seriously if he’s leaning against the bus that almost killed you and all the Shazam. He really looked like he was enjoying watching you get absolutely demolished in scolding after all. All he needed was a bucket of popcorn and he was quite literally all set.
Staring at this bus was absolutely haunting and scraping at you though, internally you were really just freaking out over it.. Never thought you’d be scared of a yellow vehicle before but i guess that’s what your mind is trying to get out because of that near life or death situation you just experienced. You grumbled and tried your best lot to let a hand run down your face. The officers voices were getting really hard to listen to. This was giving you an absolute headache. You could hear news reporters and cameras being set up too. Oh fuck no. You do not wanna live this DOWN.
You slowly turn your head to the blond haired lady with glazing blue eyes and a nice fancy suit-dress stylish outfit on. He has some news channel badge on the left side of the pastel colored uniform; and you can easily sought out her dazzling pink lip-gloss that shimmered in the lighting just right. This was a news reporter. You could feel the dread trimming and screaming at you to get outta here. Meanwhile the skeleton that just saved your life literally pulled out a hot pink comb and began to scrape at his non existent hair. Oh you little..
The blond haired lady snapped her fingers making you acknowledge those very well done white nails of hers. As she scoffed off camera for a moment before sneering discreetly, then she shook her head and put on her breaking news face.
Before you could question further the lady ran back into the van she owned along with her news reporting crew; some adjusting their cameras and saving whatever footage they filmed. Some looked exhausted, some even gave off the looks of ‘I don’t get paid enough for this.’ Which honestly isn’t surprising. As ridiculous as this is.. You have a feeling tomorrow you’ll be asked questions for nearly dying. Not looking forward to that.
You take the opportunity while you can to sped walk to your apartment, unlocking the door with the keys and listening to the audible sound of it roughly pushing open. You hear a few happy chirps—or in your case, meows. Oh! Right, Milk. They must be hungry. You walked into the apartment you call home and kick off your shoes. Before moving over to the ball of white fluff and giving them a few pats as they purr affectionately; rubbing against you a bit as they vibrated. Even if this little fella waits a while for you return he always seems to be in some sort of chipper mood. It was really strange to you. This cat rarely was pissed off.. Maybe after a trip to the vet? Other than that, no.. Not often do you see this thing get riled up.
Nonetheless you make sure to heat up some cat food before moving on to your frozen Alfredo you’d eat, the cheap packs of those from the store were honestly hella good. The flavor was enough to consume anyway.. Not too bitter, not too bad.. Hard to.. really explain.

Chapter 3: You Bus(best) push through it!
Summary:
“HEY, YOU! INCREDIBLY SHORT HUMAN!”
You flinched at the sound of an unfamiliar voice and the sound of a cart rolling toward you.
Chapter Text
After feeding your cat you did infact eat a quick microwaveable Alfredo pack. And it filled you with an odd warmth, not the most comforting but still very nice for consumption.
You continued to scarf down the meal; regardless of how it isn’t that filling. You still eat. You require it in order to continue on after all.
With a final swallow of the last bits of the flat noodles you break of the weak- cardboard lid off the frozen food container, stuff it inside of itself and toss it into the trash can with a bored look on your face.
You knew whatever else you had in this kitchen ought to be stale—so you’d go out shopping tomorrow. And you’d take Milk with you, considering if you kept taking walks and leaving him home alone more often he’d probably start doing little snarky things to actually how his rebellious side. And you certainly didn’t want that to come yet. No-nope. Not at all.
So you stretched and moved over to the very low quality couch of your apartment and laid in; you felt Milk nuzzling against the crook of your neck and moving to the side of your right cheek before laying near you and curling up similar to that of an baby fox. Aw…
You blew out a piece of your hair that was in your way before letting out a quick and quiet yawn. You glance down to the white feline curled against you still before slowly letting your eyes droop and pressing yourself against the pillows of the couch and the soft fabric of it. You ignore the loose springs and scratchy noise it makes as you lean into it and just let yourself drift into slumber—mainly by the sound of your cat purring as if singing a sort of gentle song to you.
·•—–٠✤٠—–•·
The next morning you sit up and mutter absolute gibberish to yourself and slip off the couch. Your cat whines but doesn’t make any actual moves to stop you as you walked off somewhere else within the very packed and messy depths of your apartment. You hopped in the shower and afterwards fixed your hair slightly; though it still ended up being incredibly messy you ignored that factor. Putting on a basic white t-shirt and a set of pajama pants of some sort. Because! Number one, this was your ‘I don’t give a fuck’ outfit. Mainly because you had no friends and you could care less about the judge-mental stares you’d be receiving when you entered that grocery store.
Eventually you slid on your socks, shoes and then pushed on a grey jacket. Last but not least you grabbed your keys and gestured for your cat to follow after you, which you absolutely startled them based on how they meowed and instantly fell off the couch in a goofy position. But nonetheless they shook their fur and trotted along with you. Walking out the apartment you make sure to lock the door with your keys and waited for the audible click to make its sound—once that’s out of the way you turn and walked down the stairs and headed toward the closest store you knew. And unfortunately, you didn’t own a car so this was gonna be a slightly long walk. But you’d have to worry about getting a car once you eventually found a secondary job besides working at a ice cream parlor that has the same five bratty kids ordering the same ice cream scoops but they’d slowly add one extra topping on purpose each time they’d arrive. And their timing wasn’t even consistent which made it even worse..
After a longish walk you eventually made it to the store and spun in a cheerful circle before taking your time to stroll through the isles. Your eyes gazed to some magic infused products—because of the new addition to races..
Right!
Hmmmm.
You shouldn’t try to take any of that stuff until you were sure your digestion system wouldn’t throw it back out of you. That’d be a total disaster..
You knew you weren’t gonna get that much so you used a basket rather than an actual shopping cart when picking through things. You felt the bags under your eyes as the stores lighting seemed to slightly give you an headache.. I guess you’ll have to get pain-killers.
That’s something you’d deal with when you’d get back home.
You don’t actually take the time to hear the shouting a few isles across from you though… You’re seriously THAT tired. Milk pushes out of your left hand and laid onto your shoulder, slightly purring while trying to paw at a cat toy hanging slightly off one of the item displays. You tilt your head and pull it off the rack and allow Milk to inspect it before you simply dropped it straight into your cart. Guess this cats got some sort of taste in pet toys, whatever they want you’ll get- well.. They don’t usually ask for anything because they’re a cat. Satisfied with clawing at that beat up couch more than actually playing with something. So this was a rare occurrence.
The yelling in the distance slightly caught your attention. But not enough for you to actually turn around. Instead you just twitched your limbs. The next thing you should get is coffee.. Definitely keep you awake. You take a few seconds to think about actually working at a convenience store or something. Pretty sure the boss you’d have wouldn’t care about you drinking coffees before the shift starts, right? You’d even give your customer service voice. Because whatever they say goes.. ‘the customer is always right!!’ Blah blah blah..
Shaking your head at the thoughts that crossed your mind you snickered to yourself before moving to grab a couple of canned coffees; then tossing them right into the mini cart. Your cat meows with slight disapproval but you completely and utterly ignore them. You’re not the boss of me buddy.
Eventually you head into the next isle, mainly to grab chicken flavored ramen packets.. Because you still held the urge to refuse to cook absolutely anything.
You realize the box pack is slightly bigger than the mini basket you’ve been carrying these past 20? Or more minutes.. You hissed in irritation and look around—you’d have to take a turn back near the entrance of the store and switch to a grocery cart just for this singular thing. The only thing that prevented you from actually taking the time to walk over there was the yelling getting way more… Abruptly closer.
“HEY, YOU! INCREDIBLY SHORT HUMAN!”
You flinched at the sound of an unfamiliar voice and the sound of a cart rolling toward you.
OhgodyoudidNOTwannasocializetoday..
Chapter 4: Bus (but) that’s not my name..
Summary:
Papyrus! Uhhmmm,,, Sleepover.. Soon…
Notes:
Shorter chapters so I don’t burn out.. But I’ll try making another 1k.. I’m also bummed out I couldn’t celebrate Halloween….))
Chapter Text
You held back using that internal scream of dread and making it everyone’s reality.
Instead, you just slowly turned toward the sound of the voice.
Another skeleton. Just what you needed! Am I right? Or am I right lads.
He only seems extremely cheerful about encountering you. And he likely recognizes you from the news.. Thinking about that gosh darn lady was gonna piss you the absolute fuck off. Why couldn’t she mind her business?
You let these questions scramble within your mind as the red gloved skeleton seemed to be trying to desperately pull you back out of your thoughts. Which he was doing a decent job supposedly.
You stretch your limbs; showing how ignorant you were being of the situation at hand, but nonetheless he just seems to wait for you to finish. Once you did you watch him clear his throat as his flashy red cape sways without a fan being behind it surprisingly. Honestly—how does that work.
You don’t go into questioning further and watch him, noticing how he seemed to only be more excited and likely didn’t notice how you had the look that screamed you didn’t wanna converse.
“ARE YOU PERCHANCE THE HUMAN THAT MY BROTHER SAVED THE OTHER DAY!”
He announces it casually as you feel dread fly straight into your soul, this time more soul scraping.
An human with hazelnut hair, peaking from the isle he was in seems quite frankly annoyed with the skeletons’s yelling and he seems to not like YOU either. Probably because of the news on tv. God did everyone read news in this good riddance of a town? Wait a second.. That was his BROTHER?
Papyrus The skeleton still held an ecstatic smile on his face and patiently waited for you to answer the question he’d given. “Mh, yeah.. That’s me.. It’d be nice if you hadn’t asked it for everyone worldwide.”
You muttered half of your sentence but Papyrus seems to have heard nearly the whole thing and the grin on his boned-face only stretches from how it already is.
Your chest kinda hurts.. You don’t exactly know why.
Eh, that’ll sort itself out.
The skeleton eventually talks about how exhausted you looked and how he offered the chance to have a sleepover with him and his apparent… ‘Cousins?’
You wanted to say no sososoosooso BAD. But something in you decided to agree to it.
“Know what.. Sure.”
“THEN LETS EXCHANGE NUMBERS, INCREDIBLY SHORT HUMAN!”
“..Right.. My names uh.. ████.”
He blinks a few times and his grin somehow stretches even wider than it already is.
“THATS A WONDERFUL NAME, INCREDIBLY SHORT HUMAN!”
Yeah you give up..
Chapter 5: Bus (but) walking takes too long….

Chapter Text
Your mind was actually way too fuzzy for you to actually remember the date of that hangout? Slumber-Party? Whatever you were supposed to go to.
Friday?
Saturday?
This weekend?
Did It truly matter?
You don’t know.
You groaned as you shifted on the couch you owned, your limbs felt tender and achy as your face nuzzled into the pillow beside you; holding back a grimace you slowly sat up. Ignoring how painful the springs of the couch felt as you did so you glanced around your apartment.
It still held the classic bleak look it always owned, something you were positive you’d always see on an.. What day was it? You nudge your phone from beneath your pillow and shut your eyes as the screen flashes into your eyes.
You honestly regret forgetting to turn your brightness down.
Well at least you got a wake up call.
7:19 AM, Friday November 14th "201X"
OH.
That’s.. Fine you guess.
You had nowhere to particularly be anyway.
At least you think so.
You look around and your cat is surprisingly nowhere to be seen at such an early time. The sun seemed to have just come up a while ago, giving you the gift of being able to see perfectly clear out the blinds. It was daylight outside. The sun owned a soft creamy gold glow. But it was way too common for you to exactly call such a rare sight. You shake your head and get off the couch. As you move through one of the drawers in the bedroom you refuse to sleep in for some reason, you find one of your favorite shirts and slip it right on.
And then you just put on another pair of pajama pants that might or might not even match with the top attire you picked out for yourself without another second glance. You shuffled on your shoes, before trudging into the kitchen, preparing a bowl for your cat. You knew Milk was a very smart and decent cat that wouldn’t get itself into trouble while you were gone. So you’d just prepare the cats food and head out, though you hear your phone buzzing rather aggressively from all the way over to the couch, you looked awfully confused, you finish heating up the cat food and placing it down on the floor for your fuzzy companion before stretching and lazily snatching your phone from off of the couch.
Your eye’s dash between the masses of messages that had been sent to you in rapid speed for such early in the morning.
They were from the skeleton you encountered at the grocery store.
No wonder there were so many.
XXXXXXX: HELLO HUMAN! ARE YOU ON YOUR WAY? I ALREADY SENT YOU THE LOCATION!
He even texts in full caps, isn't that just wonderful.
And you were reminded to change his contact name.
So, since you're lazy and don't feel like changing it to a sort of nickname quite yet you go for the classic thing you do for when you first get ANYONE'S number.
Bzzzz…
DING!
Papyrus: WE PREPARED HOT CHOCOLATE? DO YOU LIKE HOT COCO?
Yep, a classic move indeed. You sigh and begin to type back a response; your fingers lazily moving across the screen with each swipe and press of a letter.
?: ooh yeah i’ll be there shortly.. I don’t have a car soo lmk if im taking too long alr?
You wish you could see the look on Papyrus’s face. He absolutely hated those lazy abbreviations with a passion. Too bad you, in his eyes, were his new potential best friend. So he was going to let it slide this once.
Papyrus is typing…
DING!
Papyrus: OKAY! SAFE TRAVELS HUMAN!
You could practically feel the positivity radiating off of that text. But it wasn’t like you to give any sort of commentary about it. Not that important..
If anything it felt nice to have someone seem to care about you. I mean you were an anti-social hermit to begin with; so this was slight progress in making new friends. But if only it wasn’t because you nearly got hit with a bus while listening to music on a walk. You grab your keys and phone then- nudge open the door with full force before dashing down the stairs and beginning the long walk to the skeletons house.
You felt some thoughts squirm and shrivel through your mind now; did the slumber party have to be so early in the morning? Was it just one of those requirements? You honestly didn’t have any doubts or actual unruly theories right now.
Considering how it's the crack of dawn and you can feel those dark circles underneath your eyes.
You began to wonder why exactly did you put up with this loud and energetic skeleton? Would it have been rude to accept an invite to something fun and expect the person that saved you from nearly becoming a pancake on the sidewalk, or maybe having your face plastered on the news for maybe a week before the town's greed looks for another thing to spread across the internet negatively. It honestly felt like this area only cared about social media and their phones to begin with, you still remember glancing up at the sparkling cobalt blue magic that prevented a terrible death nearly upon you.
But you didn’t care about those internet hungry people.
You were just sort of?
Happy to be alive.
And you felt a little grateful for that skeleton. Maybe you’d even thank him.. Despite how laid back he seems right after the whole situation took place those days ago. You press one of your palms against your chest and sigh, trying to ease yourself and concentrate on the task you had at hand, heading to the skeletons house.
This would’ve been SO much faster if you had owned a car of the sorts. But too bad you didn’t and you had to walk like the lame person you were..
Well no, that's just plain mean, you weren’t that bad of a person. Despite not entirely being financially stable.
You feel each step you take, it didn’t exactly feel warm..
More heavy with each press it takes into the ground. You felt your legs already scorching and ache was starting to get the best of them. You flick a piece of hair out of your face as you continue to push forward toward the location that Papyrus had texted to you.
You felt the wind breeze in your face, not exactly bothersome. It wasn't too cold for getting so close to December, in your book it was still autumn and certainly not near winter. You weren’t ready to see all that freezing white of a substance everywhere. You didn't want water in your shoes.. AND you didn’t want to go out so often. Maybe you’d actually have to go out shopping for more stuff before it becomes easier to get sick by going out. OH and don't get yourself started on Christmas things being everywhere. Cadence ruined the whole idea of even celebrating Christmas. The way she humiliated you.. Oh it left a sickening feeling in your stomach, in all words it was sort of gut twisting.
You huff before eventually stopping in front of an incredibly luxurious and rich looking house.
God what had you gotten yourself pulled into.
Chapter 6: Bus (but) did you miss me?
Summary:
Cadence! Your favorite sibling.
Notes:
This is where the anti-harem kinda sinks in I think.. uhhm cadence might not stay as long.. Similar to Kora from UNDERFOX!
Chapter Text
Your eyes stayed glued onto the black elegant and majestic looking gates above you, they had an awfully nice pattern and the metal on those specific gates held absolutely wonderful beauty, you couldn’t help but admire the gates for a few minutes before letting your gaze shoot over to the highly advanced and well designed doorbell attached to the soft dark velvet red brick that was surrounded by the gates in a rather nice blend.
It prioritized in advanced features and owned a lovely high-end design; something you wouldn’t really see in your everyday because you stayed cooped in your apartment half of the time.
You begin to roam around back and forth a little bit before beginning to finally approach the large estate, ignoring the smell of the fresh pansies, and camellias—you try your absolute best not to fully stop and consider the smell of the flowers.. Despite how nice they smelled, it’d be weird if someone saw a random human being sniffing flowers from a place they don't live in.
So!
You gave a simple flick of your wrist and nudged at the doorbell as you heard it let out that satisfying audible click, followed after by a rather joyful sounding ding.
A soft whirring sound filled the air as you see by the corner of the doorbell you just pressed on to have a small little red dot appear. Likely a camera to insure whoever is at the door isn’t a threat or who knows what.
You hear a very high quality voice come out of the speaker the doorbell assumingly owned as the owner of the voice was very obvious since you quite frankly remember the same voice you listened to at that grocery store as it babbled on about you,
“OH! THAT WAS ACTUALLY RATHER QUICK, HUMAN! I’M COMING GIVE ME A MOMENT!”
He sounded awfully ecstatic about your arrival being quick. But in your opinion you truly did walk at a normal pace to get here. I mean despite the travel distance and the fact that your legs were probably sore from all of it—you wouldn’t mind showing back up to this area at all. In fact it seemed pretty nice already.
That was gonna CHANGE real quick.
You step back from the gates as they gently opened forward—and Papyrus came into view. He was wearing a rather modern jacket with soft streaks of what looked to be a fire design all around the jacket, and underneath the jacket he was wearing laid a nice white t-shirt; last but not least to complete the outfit he wore a nice pair of black pants.
His grin kind of looked like it sparkled in the sun, or whatever was left of it. It was getting colder after all.
He made a gesture with his very much still gloved hands to follow after him and so you did.
As you walked you got a better look at the interior; rather nice looking. Fancy.
Papyrus opens the front door of the house and he sighed, he nearly let his shoulders slouch, but kept his composure.
You see a rather faint outline.. Or particularly a blur of someone, coated in mixtures of Blue and Cyan. Whoever it was was certainly holding multiple bowls of snacks of all sorts.
Then your eyes laid on a golden toothed skeleton—he held multiple large gallons of soda, from Mountain Dew to Fanta and who knows what other types of sodas he snatched up. He glanced at you for a few seconds before letting the smile he already had on his face become slightly sharper.
You suppressed the grimace threatening to move onto your face.
Nonetheless you try your best to relax, and possibly let the usual non social version of you break through that shell.
You were positive this wasn’t all of the skeletons you’d be seeing either.
One things for sure, you haven’t seen the one you were saved by.
Though that was thought of relief was immediately shattered as you realized he was on the couch, picking out movies beside what looked to be a familiar pastel purple haired girl. Something about only staring at her from the back of her head made you really uneasy.
And now you were positive there is something edging at you to get out of here.
The girl must’ve sensed your gaze laying upon her as her head whipped around, you could see the oversized pin t-shirt with hello kitty entitled all over it now. It was a little eye sore to look at.. Considering you aren’t usual around and about with bright colors, and you never wear such bright shades either.
But you absolutely KNEW Cadence when you saw her.
..
Sibling rivalry’s, am I right?
Chapter 7: Bus (But) Movie's are fun with family!
Summary:
Who doesn't love movie preparations!
Notes:
Also! Happy birthday fyzzbi!!/Velv.. I'll be making you a oneshot when I get the chance!
Chapter Text
She unfortunately was an adopted sibling, nonetheless still had some sort of rights to own your last name as-well. Dread filled you as Cadence’s crystal blue eyes practically glimmered with some sort of amazement—as if she had forgotten all the years she had spent absolutely ruining the person that was YOU.
You felt your shoulders stiffen as she ran toward you with utter excitement and she seemed way too happy right now, you couldn’t exactly put your finger on why though,
“████! Oh god I missed you soo much! How are you? I haven’t seen you since.. FOREVER!”
Cadence beamed; she purposely batted her eyes as if she hadn’t done anything particular to you throughout your life. You weren’t happy about the fact that you were being coddled right now either—she merely kept hugging you, making sure she didn’t dig her nails into you though, they were a sparkly pastel pink, matching the rest of her very lightly colored clothing.
“Cady, you know em’?”
You kept yourself from gagging at the nickname given to Cadence as your gaze shifts back onto the short red eye-lighted skeleton. He held back a scowl, deciding to keep on a well fitting yet tight smile on his face, the gold tooth he owned gleamed within the lighting of the room. Before you could exactly retort anything and prevent your sister from exactly spilling relations—she naturally beat you to it.
“Oh! Right! Red, this is my sibling!”
Her voice was dipped in honey and sugar at the same time, enough to bath a thousand puppies that were as gullible as a fish out of water. Too bad you knew her games already.
Then her dazzling cornflower blue eyes shifted back onto you as she beamed a bit more, she likely had so many plans of using you as a scapegoat the moment something in your life goes wrong again. Hopefully that’ll be avoidable. You truly hope for it.
“What brings you here bubbbb?”
Oh.. You didn’t really miss being called Bub either, Bubbles too. They were kind of annoying to hear right now.
Well, you swallow all the doubts and sorrow you had previously felt, ignoring how difficult it was just to swallow an ounce of your own saliva. And you take whatever courage you have right now to form out a simple response to your dear sister—Cadence.
“I was invited… You see the other week I kind of nearly.. Uhmm.. Er..”
“Oh yeah, they nearly got hit with a bus..” The same skeleton that saved your life slurred—apparently he was not only snoozing down on that couch.. But listening to the entirety of the current conversation being had in the room.
“CORRECT! I SAW IT ALL OVER THE NEWS… IT WAS QUITE SOMETHING, BROTHER!”
Papyrus adds, highly unaware of the storm of tension that was just brought upon the room with that topic being brought up.. The blue blur you previously saw earlier that was arranging snacks and who knows what; you could finally see him a bit better now. His eyes were a nice mixture of a cyan and a slight sky blue—the hues mixed together rather calmly, maybe enough to be even considered such as an incredibly cool contrast.
He also wore a matching blue and white jacket, holding a similar fire design that was quite alike to Papyrus’s jacket. Almost as if these two were best of friends. I don’t exactly think you’d be too surprised at that factor or anything. After a few more minutes of complete silence Cadence speaks up, still with the very sweet syrupy tone (annoying for you) and she even made her smile get wider, the sparkly yet clear lipgloss she was wearing shined in the lighting as she grabs a bunch of random movie disks and let her eyes have something more mischievous in them—a glint only you recognized, although it wasn’t exactly an utter and completely evil one. So you suppose you can tolerate it just this once..
“Alright that's enough chit chat!~ I have the perfect movie for tonight and it's…”
Cadence lets the silence sulk in, she probably heard cartoonish drumrolls in her head, though you found her antics incredibly ridiculous right now.
“Home!”
Hearing the name of such a nostalgic movie kind of makes the tension that was in your shoulders leave by a little bit.
Maybe your night isn’t entirely ruined, actually you felt a little ecstatic about this. Cant put your finger on why..
You fail to notice three other skeletons entering the room.
How many skeletons are in this house.. (heh.. I missed the opportunity to say closet…)
Chapter 8: Man this breakfast is absolutely hitting so well, I better not miss my bustop!
Notes:
Another short chap, but it’s ok.. I’m trying my best.. aaa..
I WROTE THIS AT 2AM.
Chapter Text
The next morning your mind felt incredibly fuzzy and what not. You grumbled and shifted on the large couch that moved its weight faintly; you cant recall last night.. But you were very certain you consumed an absolutely unholy amount of caffeine.
Also by the looks of it, you were being held by an orange hooded skeleton, definitely one of the taller ones too. And you were positive you hadn't actually had the full on chance to meet this one. Likely he did join in on that movie night but you never noticed him settle onto the couch. You slowly shake your head as you noticed him start to softly press you into him.
You will admit that whatever type of fabric he was wearing was quite comfortable. But you still needed to get home! You had your precious cat to worry about. Instead you were stuck here.. Though you noticed someone opening the blinds in the room you were currently in, along with the audible sounds of sizzling coming from a pan somewhere in the large houses kitchen. You felt another one of the skeletons undeniable weight being pushed off the couch and whoever it was started to move their way into the kitchen to help out and prepare breakfast for the household. It was actually your least concern, you aren't staying for breakfast you truly hope you aren't. You didn't need to depend on ANYONE, not in your book.
You begin to scramble to get off of the couch but of course you were terribly prevented by the skeleton quietly snoring beneath you. Dang it.
You still hear the evident noises of someone cooking from behind you.
You find it very difficult to forget such a noise.

Luckily for you, the orange hooded skeleton you certainly don’t know the name of finally had awoken from his beauty sleep and headed to the kitchen. And he was absolutely avoiding eye contact,
especially from the fact that he was holding onto you like a lifeline in his slumber.
Not that you found it odd in the slightest, if anything you were actually quite satisfied that he didn’t say anything about it—saved you from going through a whole conversation anyway. You were perfectly fine with it.
Sooner or later Cadence purposely sat you beside her, looking awfully gleeful as she held back a squeal with all her might, she was most definitely real giddy about having breakfast with YOU again. You guys never ever talked while having brunch. You seriously don’t get why she’s so excited now of all times. Made no sense.
Eh, whatever.
You enjoy the display of bacon, eggs and a large stack of pancakes that had been perfectly drenched in syrupy goodness infront of you, each chew stayed quiet. With your mouth shut—though even if you tried.. Mid-bite you talked with your mouth full,
”mmhmph.. Thuus- is goofm.. goohm.. good..”
She continued to stuff your face, practically scarfing down whatever was left on your plate, Cadence suppressed a look of distaste at that; deciding to let you be.
Though one of the skeletons at the table, singular blood-shot red eyelight gazing up and down as you enjoy the meal, he looked absolutely pleased with that fact you were just consuming a proper breakfast. It’s as if he could sense the quick drink of coffee before you head down to do your low pay and shitty job.
But at last, Cadence interrupted your train of thought:
“Hey!—████ Slow down! The food is going absolutely NOWHERE.”
She most certainly hissed out that last part, but you don’t comment on it.
You watched Cadence cross her arms, flailing them before doing so in the most dramatic fashion, as her glossy pastel purple hair swayed with each movement she allowed to give off. Then she turned back to her very much pink and red sprinkled stack of pancakes.
You don’t want to even ask who she even thinks she in right now.
You wouldn’t call her the woman of the house.. So! You continue to absolutely devour whoever took the time to cook this scrumptious brunch dish.
You can’t exactly pinpoint it.. But this felt homey and.. Not homey at the exact same time.
You DONT know how.. But at the same time you DO.
so weird.. so so very weird.
Chapter 9: Bus(but) then she dropped the act! Heh..

Chapter Text
After breakfast was over you decided on taking your leave, though a blue eye-lighted skeleton.. You recall Cadence calling him Blue earlier.. So that must be his name. He practically beams before holding a box, a cakebox—inside of the box is a rich well designed cake with pastel blue icing and creamy white icing, it’s a slice so luckily you can see the inside of the cake; containing soft and well done sprinkles of cinnamon, and it looks to be a vanilla cake.
Vanilla cinnamon cake?
The cake is rather moist looking, obviously well made, along with delicately placed into the plastic box it is currently in. Your eyes linger on the cinnamon swirl in the cake, perfectly centered. It makes you wonder how much effort was put into baking this. After a few beats of silence Blue finally speaks, up adjusting the well designed jacket he had on and straightening it.
“A LITTLE GIFT—BEFORE YOU GO! I KNOW WE DIDN’T EXACTLY GET TO TALK OR ANYTHING BUT, IT WAS NICE MEETING YOU,___!”
Something about how Blue said that made you.. Relax a bit? You are not certain why.
You thank the skeleton as you swore you could’ve seen his pupils threatening to change into a vibrant shape of a large star. Though you assume you have odd mid-day hallucinations now.
As you walk out of the large house, you nearly let life lurch out of your entire body as you bump into Cadence, the cake box you were holding is now protectively clutched to your chest as you suppress a glare from trickling up to your sister, “What do you want.”
Your patience had foiled and you weren’t up for keeping an entire neutral encounter with such a cursed person like Cadence. Cadence puts a hand to her chest as she looks at you with fake surprise, batting her soft crystal blue eyes, her pastel blue hair swaying a bit due to the wind.. It must've been really cold outside.
“Oooh? What’s with the change in tone? Can’t I wish my dear sibling a goodbye?”
She cooed and stuck out her lower lip, attempting to look like a kicked puppy who was just refused to be given such a thing as a treat.
You grit your teeth, her voice just was too sickening to hear right now.
You felt like if you let her try to continue her long monologue it would go on forever.
SO you do the only reasonable thing you accumulated. Respond before she talks in long hellish paragraphs of nonsense, “Cadence. I’m tired, I do not have time for this right now.”
Cadence’s puppy look drops as a scowl flew onto her face in seconds, whatever she had felt previously was most certainly gone, you swallowed a lump in your throat that you just noticed was even vaguely present. You hear Cadence crack her knuckles—and you can tremendously smell the 300 dollar perfume she had on, it smelled like all sorts of flower’s, roses orchids.. Oh the list goes on.
Though it was going to burn your nose if she got any closer to her with her stupid purple hair and glossy blue eyes.
You are once again brought out of your thoughts as you hear Cadence’s next few words begin to settle in.
“Listen here, if YOU ever come back here and try talking to my boyfriends again, I will make you MISERABLE. You think you can waltz up in here and take what I'm using for money? ABSOLUTELY NOT! ”
You gave her a bored look.
Yeah she’s definitely lost it.
At least she dropped the act early. And admitted to using her boyfriends for money, too bad you have no proof..
She practically screeched–you didn’t know she was still so easy to piss off, her face began turning red from how angry she was.. You held back a snicker, now that was pretty funny.
Not that you were aware but, someone besides you heard her threat too.
I wonder how that's gonna go down.
