Work Text:
Jenny Wakeman—formerly XJ-9—had always dreamed of being a normal human teenage girl and she had always asked for upgrades to make her more human. Over the years she’d begged, pestered, and pleaded with her mom, Nora Wakeman, to upgrate her so that she would feel less like a robot and more like the teenage girl she longed to be.
Nora had always been desmisive of the idea, citing technical challenges and the risks of tampering with Jenny’s core systems. But for once Nora finally relented and gave into the demands, It was for Jenny’s birthday after all, so it would be her gift for this year.
But this wasn’t just a simple tune-up—the number of changes that need to be done are so numeros she has to do a complete overhaul of jenny's body.
“Just know this is going to be a long and comlex process,” Nora warned as she prepared the lab. “Your systems will be upgraded, your exterior redesigned, and your internal wiring optimized. Are you ready for this, Jenny?”
Jenny’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “More than ready, Mom! Let’s do it!”
Jenny powers down and Nora gets to work, The process started at the night before Jenny's birthday but it was long and ardius, by the time Nora was giving the finishing touches the sun was rising.
When Jenny finally powered back on, she gasped. The amout of new sensations was almost overwelming and her legs were wabling as she stood up. For the first time, she could feel—the cool air against her synthetic skin and the texture of the floor beneath her feet.
As Jenny stood in front of a mirror, absolutely stunned by what she saw. Gone were the harsh metallic edges of her old design. Her once-metallic shell had been replaced with a smooth, malleable alloy that was soft to the touch. Her new body was soft and flexible.
And… the curves. She turned to the mirror, eyes widening. Her new figure was sleek, rounded in all the right places, a far cry from her old boxy frame. Her fingers ran over her new form in awe, her wide hips and big chest made her look like those ladies in magazines that she always admired.
Nora stood behind her, rattling off technical explanations.
“The new alloy also includes nerve-like sensors, so you’ll be able to feel physical sensations now,” Nora explained. “And your joints are reinforced with—Jenny, are you even listening?”
Jenny barely glanced at her. “Uh-huh… yeah, nerves, soft alloy, whatever—”. She was too busy running her hands over her arms and torso, marveling at the changes. She turned to the side, examining her new figure. “I have curves,” she whispered, a mixture of awe and disbelief in her voice. “Like, actual curves.”
Nora coughed. “Jenny!”
She snapped out of it turning to look at her mom whit an embarased blush on her face.
Nora sighed. “Just be careful. You still have enhanced strength, but now you also have sensitivity. That means you’ll have to adjust to your new body. Understood?”
Jenny nodded—then caught sight of the clock and gasped. “Oh no!—I’m going to be late for school!”
She dashed to her room to get dressed, bolted to her closet, only to find her old metallic outfits no longer fit. The rigid material was tight and uncomfortable against her new, softer form. All her old clothes were metallic plating. Stiff, clunky, completely unwearable now. She tugged at them in frustration.
Nora peeked into the room and winced. “Oh dear, I, uh… forgot to account for clothing. I’ll take you shopping for new outfits after school, okay?”
“Great,” Jenny muttered, slipping into the least-uncomfortable outfit she could find. Jenny groaned, forcing her old outfit on as best as she could. It was tight. Too tight. The material groaning whit exertion barely stretched over her new curves. She didn’t have time to fix it. She had to go.
She launched out the window, only to discover another issue: her new figure wasn’t exactly aerodynamic. Flying to school was an instant struggle, her flight path was clumsy and unbalanced, and she wobbled through the air like a kite caught in the wind. She wobbled, tumbled, and nearly crash-landed onto the campus courtyard.

At school, her friends Brad and Sheldon were already waiting. The bell had already rung and they waited at their desks, wondering why Jenny was late.
“She’s never this late,” Sheldon said, tapping his foot. “You think something’s wrong?”
“Maybe she overslept?” Brad suggested, though he didn’t sound convinced. “I mean, robots don’t even sleep, do they?”
Sheldon muttered. “We were gonna ask about her birthday plans before class.”
Before they could speculate further, Jenny burst into the classroom, slightly out of breath. Panting from the rush, she straightened herself and smiled. “Hey, guys! Sorry I’m late—”
The second Jenny rushed through the door, all conversations stopped.
The entire class fell silent, their eyes widened and jaws dropping as they took in her appearance. Jenny froze, suddenly self-conscious under their stares.
“Miss Wakeman,” the teacher said after a moment, clearing his throat. “You’re-not that late. Take your seat.”
Jenny nodded and hurried to her desk, but as she took a step forward, and the reaction was immediate—whispers, hushed gasps, students nudging each other. The whispers around her were impossible to ignore.
“Is that Jenny?” one student murmured.
“She looks amazing,” another replied.
Every student—every single one—was staring at her. Not in fear or disgust but In awe. Jenny was used to stares—but not these kinds of stares.
But two students in particullar were especially stuned. In the back of the room, The Crush Sisters, Brit and Tiff, stared in shock. They’d spent hours coordinating their outfits that morning, but now no one was paying attention to them.
Tiff sneered. "What happend to her?" she gestures "She’s like some kind of… robot supermodel."
“It’s disgusting,” Brit added. “Everyone’s drooling over her like she isn't just some expensive apliance.”
Meanwhile, Jenny tried to talk to Brad and Sheldon about her birthday plans, but both boys were too stunned to respond. Sheldon’s face was bright red, and Brad’s jaw was practically on the floor.
“Uh… hello?” Jenny blinked. “Earth to Brad and Sheldon!” Jenny said, snapping her fingers. “Come on, guys. Snap out of it!”
Finally, Brad managed to speak. “Jenny… what happened?”
“I finnaly convinced mom to upgrade me,” she said with a grin. “Pretty cool, huh?”
Sheldon rubbed his eyes, still flustered. “Cool? It’s… amazing!"
Brad sighed "But how are we supposed to top that for a birthday present?”
Jenny laughed at her friends antics realeif that they werent treating her difertly.
But as the day went on, she couldn’t help but notice how differently everyone else was treating her. The boys suddenly tripped over themselves to hold doors open for her or scrambled to offer to carry her books, stumbling over their words just to get her attention. The girls swarmed her, bombarding her with compliments gushing over how amazing she looked and asked for her opinions on everything from hairstyles to nail polish, begging for beauty tips.
It was overwhelming but also strangely flattering.

Meanwhile, the Crush Sisters stewed in their jealousy. All morning they've been ignored as everyone is too bussy oggoling Jenny.
“She’s hogging all the attention!” Brit complained.
“Yeah,” Tiff agreed. “It’s like we don’t even exist.”
"They are a bunch of imbeciles, every single one." Brit seethed.
"Youre right!" Tiff scowled. “They’re basically drooling over a doll!”
A pause. Then—an idea.
Then Brit smirked. “Exactly. Jenny is just like a doll. And like any doll, she’s probably… blank underneath.”
Tiff’s eyes lit up. “You’re right! Dolls got no… naughty bits."
Brit rubbed her hands conspiranoically. "If we exposed that to the school, the illusion would shatter. Everyone will see she’s not real, and they’ll stop obsessing over her.”
The sisters hatched a plan, and it was simple. They snuck a powerful car magnet into the school and placed it right at the entrance. At the end of the day, they waited by the entrance, stopping students from leaving.
“Stick around, everyone,” Brit said loudly. “You’re about to see something shocking.”
Tiff smirked saying. "That's right, we are gonna reveal jenny's secret!"
All they had to do now… was wait.
By the end of the day Jenny, unaware of their scheme, took a while to exit school becouse she was chatting with Brad and Sheldon about plans for her birthday.
She told them about how she is going clothes shopping afther school “So, wanna come with me to buy new clothes?” she asked.
Brad and Sheldon, still reeling from the shock of her new look, nodded dumbly.
Then as she stepped outside, the Crush Sisters activated the magnet.
BZZZZT!
A sudden force yanked at Jenny’s body. She barely had time to react before—To her horror, her metallic clothes were beeing ripped from her body.
RIIIIP!
Her metal-plated outfit flew off her body, sucked straight into the magnet. Leaving her completely exposed.
Jenny stood frozen in the doorway. As every student stared is stuned silence.
Even Brit and Tiff—who had been waiting for laughter—were stunned. Because, to their absolute horror… Jenny was… anatomically correct.
The air was filled whit a Silent Shock. And then—
The crowd erupted into chorus of gasps. Cameras flashed. Boys cheered.
Jenny’s face exploded turning bright blue. She shrieked, hands flying to cover herself as best as she could.
Brad and Sheldon’s reactions were instant and over-the-top. Brad’s face turned beet red as he clumsily tried to shield his eyes. “Whoa, uh, Jenny! I… uh… didn’t see anything! Promise!” he stammered, peeking between his fingers.
Sheldon nearly passed out. He froze entirely, his face burning up as he stood like a statue, unable to process what had just happened. “She's got robo nippl-,” he mumbled under his breath before Brad elbowed him hard in the ribs.
“What the…” Tiff stammered, blushing furiously.
Brit’s face was equally red. “She’s… perfect.”
The crowd erupted in cheers, and Jenny was mortified, taking off into the sky, leaving a very flustered school behind.
Back on the ground, Brit and Tiff just stood there, slack-jawed. Then, after a long pause exchanged a look.
Brit swallowed. “Okay… that backfired.”
Tiff, still blushing, muttered, “Yeah, but… she is kinda hot…”
Brit snaped her head at her cusin, but she couldn't deny that statment “...Well,” Brit said, crossing her arms. “Guess she really is the most popular girl in school now.”
High above the city, Jenny flew aimlessly, her hands still clutching herself as she tried to shake the humiliation. “Why does stuff like this always happen to me?” she muttered. Her voice cracked slightly as she continued. “This was supposed to be the best day ever, and now…” She groaned, covering her face. “So humiliating.”
She sped off toward home, vowing to avoid the spotlight for at least a few days.
And with that, Jenny had officially become the most popular girl in school. Whether she wanted to be or not.
