Chapter Text
The worn-out tires of the Ford screeched across the pavement as he turned, arm halfway out of the window and a scowl etched into his rough face. The bruises layered under his left eye and across his chin pulsed alongside his heartbeat, reminding him of just what exactly going home would always result in. His dad had never appreciated his existence, so why keep staying? He had turned 18 weeks ago, but his mom begged him to stay; claiming she couldn’t live without him. He had taken his Fathers Ford amidst the chaos between his parents, not caring what words had been hurled in his direction.
Upon his recollection of the night, his mind wandered to a specific man that happened to cause him to deviate from his earlier plans. He slammed the brakes and forced the truck into park. The door slammed closed and he was already up the steps and into the apartment building, ignoring the calls of the man from the front desk. Once he reached the door numbered 34, he slammed his fist into it, shaking it. He heard the door unlock and was met with Andrew Clark with a pissed expression plastered on his face that drooped to concern as he saw John.
“What’s up, Johnny? You alright? Need to come in?” Andrew questioned, not waiting for a response and taking grasp of the man in front of him, ushering him inside.
“I’m fine, I’m fine! Jesus, Andy, I just wanted to see you.”
“Alright! Come sit down,” Andrew mumbled, settling down on his leather cushions. John flopped down onto the couch with a huff, spreading out as much as he physically could.
“Think I’m headin’ east.” John grumbled, fidgeting with a loose strand on his old jeans.
“What?!” Andrew exclaimed, jumping up and onto John.
