Work Text:
Breakfast was the most important meal of the day. Rey knew this to be true, because right now, three months after Exegol, she was against a tree on Ahch-To, with a blue Force ghost on his knees in front of her. It was a fine morning. Porgs were squawking, and Rey was giving her Force ghost boyfriend a much-needed meal.
She sighed as he sampled the maple syrup trailing down her legs. “Just like that, Ben,” she said. “Right there. That’s perfect.”
Ben hummed in response, happily dining on her grapefruit. It was amazing what people could still do as Force ghosts. Yoda could destroy trees with lightning; Luke could lift whole ships out of water. And Ben—Ben could eat like a champ.
”You taste amazing, Rey,” he grunted as his hand grabbed one of her chest tangerines. “I’m so hungry.”
”Me, too.”
Yes, indeed, she was itching to have him for breakfast, as well. But she had to be patient. Force ghosts didn’t exactly have blood in their systems—which meant certain body parts didn’t work, so to speak. But Ben and Rey were in the process of fixing that. The closer she got to release, the less blue his ghost body was looking. And the less blue his body was looking, the more his lower region was coming alive.
”Ah, Ben,” she murmured, enjoying how his fingers toyed with her oranges and plucked the raspberries on the tips. He enthusiastically munched harder on her muffin, giving her blueberry, in particular, extra attention. She was wound so tight, and she was about to snap.
”I’m right there,” she said.
”Then let it go, Rey,” he commanded, even less blue than he was mere seconds ago. “I want to feast.”
She seriously loved that deep voice. He opened his mouth wide to gobble her donut, sending more feeling through her. The extra dash of stimulation was just what she needed, and she suddenly let loose. Sweet cream covered his face and he fed on it with enthusiasm. Then he took a look at his lower parts.
”Rey, I think it’s working!” he said, excitedly pointing at his banana, which was growing more responsive . . . and even curling now.
”Me, too. Stand up, quick!”
Ben was on his feet before Rey had finished speaking. She got down on her knees and took his breakfast burrito in hand. It felt full and real. Her mouth watered in anticipation. Hoping for the best, she gave it a try. Yep, she could taste it! They were definitely getting somewhere with this little experiment.
Ben held onto her hair, trying to keep himself steady. “I can feel that. That felt warm.”
That sounded like a good sign to her. She let herself experiment, not knowing what she was doing, but willing to try. Her mouth moved around; and when she pulled away to take a breath, she noticed his hard-boiled eggs were turning more pinkish in color. So she cupped them in her hand and he moaned his appreciation.
”Give them a try, sweetheart,” he requested. “Can you taste them?”
”Mhm.” And she really could—they tasted great. Then she returned to his sausage and let her mouth have its fill. Soon, melted butter was leaking from the tip. Another good sign, she was pretty sure! He was delicious; he had a savory tang that appealed to her. Little drops of his orange juice trickled down her chin and she enjoyed them as well as she could. His skin was gradually taking on its signature ivory tone; there was just the barest hint of blue left.
He was right on the edge. ”Keep going, Rey, please. I’m feeling everything more as you keep going. It feels incredible.”
Well, that made sense. The more his blueness disappeared, the more sensitive he was. Of course he could feel everything better.
”Come on, Ben,” she said, glancing up at him. “Let it go; we’re almost there. You’re almost home.”
”Almost there,” he echoed. “Just a bit more. Here we go!”
And then he was off! Rey drank his almond milk, letting it fill up her belly. And the next thing both of them knew, Ben was standing there.
In person.
No longer blue.
Looking down at his newly-restored self, he flashed her his father’s signature smirk. ”You were right,” he said. “It worked.”
”Dyad energy,” Rey agreed, grinning over at the information-filled Jedi scrolls sitting on the ground. “The most powerful force in the galaxy.”
”That’s right, sweetheart. And now,” Ben rasped, kneeling down and lying on top of her as she laid down on her back in the grass. “I’m still hungry.”
