Blood splattered on the ground just before she hit the ground. "Is that all the fight you got? I thought you wanted to protect them?" The edge in his voice was unsettling. The teenager was taking far too much pride in the pain he was inflicting on her. In her being knocked to the ground by his hands.
"Autumn!" David screamed.
Autumn spit a mouthful of blood and glared up at her big brother. She knew she couldn't beat him. He was much bigger than her. He had better control of his quirk. But Autumn couldn't stand by and let her big brother hurt her friends. She was only twelve, where he was fifteen. Ben had the upper hand. Ben laughed as his friend flicked open a knife. David Shields' eyes widened in horror as the knife was inched toward his face.
The air around her seemed to vibrate. Propulsion had never been good for anything other than flashy acrobatics. The need to protect her friends was overwhelming. She couldn't explain how the proper use of her quirk suddenly came to her. She had been desperate. Autumn shot off the ground like a rocket. She zipped through the air with a level of skill and precision she had never had before.
