Chapter Text

"Hey everyone gather around it's story time!" You called out to the families in the children's reading room of the Evergreen Public library.

A group of kids sat down expectantly in the front row along with one rather big kid.

Adrian Allen Chase.

He sat cross legged like he always did on a Sunday evening right up close and personal to hear you read from a science fact book, fairy tale, no matter what it was he was hook line and sinker focused on every word that came out of your mouth.

At the end he would loudly clap along with the kids and parents, his curly mop of hair bouncing as he sprang up to go chat with you afterwards.

"Thanks for coming along Adrian." You would always say sheepishly at the end.

"Of course! You have such a great voice, and I always learn so much." Adrian grinned back with such an earnestness that you felt your heart soar whenever he complimented you.

Adrian loved how colorfully you dressed and how into the theme you got, when you read a book about dinosaurs your dress was patterned with them and you wore big Jurassic Park earrings. When you read out the Wizard of Oz you dressed like Dorothy and brought your cat along as Toto. When you read out the hungry hungry caterpillar your skirt had food painted all over it and your top was bright green, you revealed a beautiful set of butterfly wings at the end that made all of the children giggle.

Tonight you read out a book on spiders, Charlotte's Web and your dress was peplum with a big spider web on it, a fascinator with a spider and a bow along with striped tights. Two webs with the words Radiant and Terrific were written across your chest and Adrian had to wholeheartedly agree.

"I really dig your outfit!" Adrian said with a goofy grin his green eyes moving up and down your body behind those wireframed glasses. "They're always so cool but I love spiders and I think this one is my all time favorite."

"Oh that's so lovely of you to say!" You patted your dress down and gave him a little curtsey that made Adrian blush bright red.

Adrian was completely in love with you. He was obsessed, your kind voice and the way you explained where the books were on animals facts, true crime, Guinness world records or whatever else he wanted to read up on you withheld any judgements. The way you cutely used the little stool which you called a Dalek and stood on your tip toes to shelve the books on the top shelf. How your voice would go all stern when people broke the rules sent a shudder through his core. If you shushed someone, Adrian would use that alone as jerk off material for the next week.

The way you gently flicked your wrist with the barcode scanner on his books made him want you to do that with something else...

But Adrian wasn't clued into how to approach you. Relationships weren't his forte, the only encounters he had were set up three ways with Peacemaker and whoever he picked up at some sleazy bar. Which honestly wasn't really doing it for him anymore. Sure it's bro bonding but it felt kind of empty. While Adrian has been fine alone, you were so sweet and kind to him that he found himself curious about what it would be like to date someone. Which was a pretty heavy revelation.

"Hey can you show me another section?" Adrian asked you one day at the desk. He had a peculiar look on his face like he was bashful about it.

"Sure thing, what are you after?" You got up and walked past the aisles of bookshelves with him.

"Uh...relationship advice." Adrian replied, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh cool! Well that's over here with the self help section." You took him down to the correct shelves and Adrian nodded staring at the display.

"We have friendship, family, love..." You explained pointing at the different call numbers on the labels.

"L-love advice please." Adrian said it so quietly that you barely heard it. That was unusual, he was so loud that your colleagues would often chastise you for not telling him off.

But he couldn't help his volume and Adrian did try to not be a disturbance. Plus he dealt with any of the actual horrible people that entered the library. Adrian had thrown out a guy who was masturbating at the computers for you last week, kicking him to the curb. He also stood back and glared daggers at a group of teens trying to smoke vapes who didn't want to listen to your warnings until they left.

"Here we go, it's all these books from here...all the way to here!" Your hand guided along the shelf from start to finish and Adrian watched it mesmerized.

"Uh thanks!" Adrian beamed. "I'll borrow all of them if that's okay?"

"Oh sure, I can get you a trolley." You replied, humming along to get one for him. Adrian stood back his face bright red watching you walk off.

"Here we go!" You announced upon your return startling him. Adrian knocked over a section of books he was perusing on how to make the first move that collapsed to the ground.

"Shit sorry my bad!" Adrian rushed down onto his hands and knees to pick them up and you joined him.

"All good sorry for spooking you!" You apologized and helped him scoop the books up and into the trolley.

"No it's my fault..." Adrian insisted. The last book on the ground was How to Know If Someone's Interested: 8 Signs for Love!

Both of you went to reach for it and your hands brushed up against one another.

"Uh..." Adrian stuttered, his face going bright pink.

"Oh sorry Adrian!" You giggled, moving your hand and picked the book up off the floor. "Geez this one looks like a good read, I never know if someone is interested or not. It's so hard to tell!" You appraised the book, turning it over.

"Really? Surely there must be a bunch of guys hanging around that are interested in you..." Adrian said looking stunned at that statement.

"Oh I kind of keep to myself mostly, I'm not really on the dating scene or anything." You said back with a soft laugh.

Adrian nodded along, he of course knew this having followed you home and watched how you interacted in and outside of work. You would hang out with friends go do cool activities like the movies, art galleries, museums and the zoo but never with a partner. Some guys tried to pick you up at the library with terrible lines but you rebuffed all of them.

He really loved that you were comfortable being on your own like he was but Adrian found himself wanting to try to get to know you more than just what he found rummaging through your garbage bin at night.

"Me either!" Adrian replied brightly.

"Well I think it's great you're reading up on this stuff Adrian, when you find a partner they will be so lucky." You smiled back up at him, going to push the trolley but Adrian stopped you.

"Let me!" He insisted, pushing it to the front desk.

"Thanks Adrian." You beamed, heading around the desk you got the barcode scanner out and started putting them onto his account.

"Did you need a hand getting these all out to your car?" You asked him and Adrian mulled it over.

"Okay, did you need a lift home by the way? You get the bus right?" Adrian checked with you.

"Oh that's very kind of you Adrian, but I'll be alright." You replied, wanding the last of the books into the trolley.

"You sure?" Adrian asked again on the way out to his Sebring pushing the trolley along. "There are all kinds of weirdos out there trust me!" He added, knowing all too well being one of them. You were super easy to stalk and track down, caught up in your own world always a book in hand.

"I guess so, but my house is a bit out of the way I don't want to impose on you..." You fretted, helping pass the books over to him as he filled up the boot of his car.

"Oh hey that's funny, I threw out an umbrella just like that one the other day!" You pointed to a battered looking polka dot umbrella in Adrian's boot and his eyes widened.

"Woah weird coincidence!" Adrian laughed, quickly slamming his boot down. "And it's not an imposition, I want to do it." He added.

"Alright, thank you for that I'll go lock up and be around ten minutes?" You offered and Adrian nodded with a big puppy dog grin.

"Thanks for the lift Adrian." You said cheerfully.

"Anytime!" Adrian replied as he drove along towards your place.

"But um... how did you know where I live? I never gave you my address." You were confused, had you mentioned it some other time? That seemed an odd thing to do though.

"I...well it's just that I followed you here once to make sure you got home safely." Adrian admitted.

Which then spiralled into nearly every night, he omitted. You mulled that information over for a moment.

"I see..." You sighed deep in thought.

"Wow that's like in the book I'm reading!" You eventually said excitedly. "It's this romance novel set in a steam punk universe where the main character..." Continuing to ramble on about the plot, Adrian couldn't help but have his mind wander across your beautiful lips as they spoke. He wanted nothing more right now than to taste them on his.

You were so fucking adorable.

And so god damn hot.

Oh no...

Shit.

Adrian unzipped his teal hoodie and tossed it onto his lap before you noticed the raging hard on developing in his jeans.

"It's hot tonight isn't it?" You mused, waving a hand to fan yourself and taking off your cardigan.

"Y-yeah it is." Adrian nodded feeling an immense relief and heat rise from your cluelessness. So fucking cute.

"Thanks again for dropping me off, have a good night Adrian!" You said getting out of the Sebring with a big wave.

"Night night!" Adrian called back after you, watching you go inside.

Pushing play on the CD player, Adrian listened to Suzi Quartos She's In Love With You. It was the song he would play on repeat whenever he went to your house unannounced. Because Adrian was convinced that you were deep down in love with him too. There was something there.

There had to be.

When the front door closed behind you he sighed deeply, and then noticed you'd left behind your cardigan on the passenger seat.

Picking it up he was about to head on after you but stopped when the fragrance of your perfume flicked a switch in his brain. Adrian was still hard and your scent made his erection so much more unbearable. The heat from you wearing it was still there and a couple of your gorgeous strands of hair stuck to the collar.

"Fuck..." Adrian moaned, taking the cardigan up to his nose to inhale it fully.

The urge was irresistible.

Adrian unzipped his fly and began to masturbate, basically choking himself with your cardigan.

"You're so..." He tried to articulate it out loud to himself how much you drove him fucking wild but it was no use. All he could do was pump his fist away at his cock like an animal in the Sebring.

"Fucking cute..." Adrian stumbled out of his lips, biting down on them. Your perfume and natural scent was so intoxicating, he could even get a hint of the shampoo you used. He was obsessed with that aroma, in fact he had bought a travel sized shampoo bottle of the brand.

Adrian opened the glove box and got the little bottle out and poured it into his palm.

"I fucking love you..." He whispered through gritted teeth, eyes locked with the bedroom window. The curtains were drawn but this was when your bedroom light would go on. You hadn't realized this but the blinds should also be drawn.

Because your silhouette showed in a shadow from the lamp when you changed into your pajamas. Adrian groaned as the light flickered on and the vision that was your body shadowed into view. He was watching the sexiest shadow puppet show in the entire fucking world.

You shrugged off your shoes first and settled your hands to the back of your dress.

"That's it baby...take it off for me." Adrian grunted, swiping the tip to add a few beads of precum to the mix of sweat and shampoo lube that slicked in a loud echo throughout the Sebring.

This show was clearly for him, you weren't that oblivious right? Adrian hadn't moved his car at all. Besides if it wasn't, then he had to watch and make sure no other creepy pervert was looking in. Adrian checked the perimeter but the coast was clear.

"You're so hot..." Adrian settled back into jacking off properly. His green eyes widened as you unzipped your dress, it took some effort to reach the zip which made Adrian desperately wish he was there to help you with it.

Adrian had never seen your actual body just the outline of it against the thin curtain but as your poured out of the dress, he could envision how lovely your curves would be in the flesh and he felt so close.

"Oh god...fuck you drive me crazy!" Adrian groaned when you bent over to pick up your dress from the floor.

He wanted to bend you over just like that on the check out desk at the library and rail you until you couldn't walk or speak.

He'd give it to you so good you'd forget the Dewey Decimal System and the Library of Congress.

The only thing you would remember would be Adrian's name on your lips and the fullness of his thick cock inside of you.

"I love you!" Adrian shouted as he came hard into his fist. It was annoyingly messy as Adrian didn't masturbate much and quite a lot of it doused your cardigan. Wiping what he could with a packet of wet wipes it was definitely stained.

"Shit sorry...I'll get this dry cleaned for you gorgeous." Adrian said up at you in the window, you were in your sexy pyjamas and getting settled into bed.

"Goodnight and sweet dreams!" He wished you with an adoring kiss before firing up the Sebring.

"I hope those books help." Adrian sighed.

Relationships are hard.

Meanwhile you heard the Sebring start and Adrian drive away. Drawing the blinds closed so nobody else could peek in with a frustrated sigh you laid back onto the mattress in your teal lingerie.

You'd left your cardigan on the seat hoping Adrian would knock on the door and you could invite him in and drag that stalker loverboy of yours upstairs to the bedroom.

But he was still much too shy for that and instead continued to watch from afar. It was pretty hot though just how into you he was at the same time.

"I hope those books help." You sighed, looking around your bedroom at the photos of Vigilante and Adrian that covered it ceiling to floor.

Relationships are hard.
