Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Chapter Text
If you had told Katsuki Bakugo, the number two hero in Japan named Dynamight, that he would be a single dad at the age of 22, he would have looked you dead in the eye, told you that you were fucking stupid, and then go on with the rest of his day. The blonde wouldn’t have believed a word you would have said, because he simply never wanted to be a parent, or at least he didn’t think about it happening to him.
It’s not that Katsuki didn’t like kids, if anything he adores them, even if the pro hero didn’t always show it. In his eyes, kids are innocent and are the future, and he was once a child too. So if anyone said he hated the youth, they’re fucking wrong.
He just simply didn’t want to be a father, not yet at least. Katsuki was too young and too new at being a pro hero, it was just too early for him to even consider having a child. He had to think about his career, the future he had always dreamed of when he was a kid that was now a reality.
So imagine the blonde's surprise when during a rescue mission, a dying woman gave her 5 year old girl to him and made him promise to take care of her.
And of course he agreed, because he was a pro hero, so of fucking course he agreed to take the little brat in.
Well….That wasn’t really the full truth.
The full truth was that when he took the kid to the doctors to make sure she wasn’t hurt and that she didn’t have any diseases, they asked the blonde if he wanted to sign the papers to put her through the foster care system. At first he was going to say yes, but he remembered something his friend round face told him about the foster care system. Something that made his stomach churn and his heart hurt.
Maybe it was those words the other pro hero said to the blonde male, or maybe it was the way the little girl clutched onto his leg when he introduced her to the nice nurses as if she was afraid they would take her away from the pro hero, or the way the girls blonde curly hair reminded him of himself in a way.
Or maybe it was her emerald eyes that looked at him as if he had hung the moon, the eyes that reminded him of someone he knew, someone that looked at him the exact same way that made him deny the doctor's request and instead ask for adoption papers.
He didn’t know how to take care of a kid let alone how to even raise one and he was still 22 and getting started on his pro hero work, but he decided then and there that he would protect and raise that little girl to be the best person she could be. The blonde knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but he was going to succeed.
And it wasn’t easy at all, but it wasn’t as bad as he thought it was going to be.
He did most of the stuff for her that he already did for himself, except he had to learn how to have patience, and that was hard enough on his own. Luckily he had two great parents who adored the little girl as if she was their own, which in a way she was.
Katsuki had learned her name was Honoka, and if he didn’t know any better he would assume that this little girl was his blood related child with how crazy she looked like him when he was her age. The same sharp eyes, same blonde hair, hell she even has his quick temper.
He isn’t lying when he says it’s cute how much she reminds him of himself.
But there were so many things that made her so different but still somehow familiar to him. The curly hair that he would definitely have to ask Mina how to take care of and what products to get, her green eyes that always had a look of wonder whenever they went out somewhere, and those cute freckles that he always caught himself counting whenever she fell asleep on him.
The blonde swears he remembers seeing those freckles and the same shade of green eyes somewhere before.
One thing that he did teach Honoka as soon as she started elementary school was to always be kind to others and help those who need it, but to never start a fight.
He learned that the hard way.
It has been three years since Katsuki adopted Honoka and became a father, and now she was in third grade and the same lesson he taught her had stuck.
At least he thought it did.
”Dynamight! There’s a call for you!”
Katsuki stopped filling out the paperwork he was currently focused on, something about a villain attack on the mall near the agency. He didn’t remember the exact details, but he told himself he would get it done today so he didn’t have to do it later. He promised Honoka that he was going to take her to the re-run of her favorite All Might movie, and what kind of father he would be if he broke his promise to his little sidekick.
A shitty one, and he was anything but a shitty father.
”Bakugo!”
”I’m coming, god don’t you guys know anything about patience?” The blonde shouted as he pushed his chair away from his desk and stood up with a grunt, making his way towards where his friend Eijirou was holding out the phone, impatiently waving it around like it was just gonna walk out the building if the blonde didn’t answer it right away.
”You just recently learned what the concept of that word is Bakubro,” his other friend Denki commented as he handed a cup of fresh coffee to the red haired pro hero. The comment made the explosion hero roll his eyes and click his tongue in slight annoyance as he grabbed the phone from the other male and held it to his ear and pressed the take off hold button.
”Pro Hero Dynamight Agency, this is Dynamight speaking,” the blonde spoke into the phone as he leaned against the desk, rubbing his head with his free hand as he listened to the other side of the phone.
Fuck, he was tired.
He should’ve asked Denki to make him a cup of coffee.
”What the hell do you mean Honoka got into a fight!” Katsuki shouted suddenly, causing Eijirou to almost drop his cup and Denki to fall out of his chair at the sudden change in tone from the other male.
The explosion hero closed his eyes and mentally counted to ten and back down to one, something he learned to calm himself down when he first started raising Honoka and when he didn’t really know how to be as cool as he is now.
”I’m sorry,” Katsuki apologized to the other person on the other side of the phone with a sigh, running his free hand tiredly through his spikey hair. “Is my kid okay?”
”Well yes, the other kid on the other hand has a black eyes, but Honoka is okay,” the sweet lady replied, and if the blonde smirked to himself when he heard that the other kid looked worse, that was his business and nobody else's.
”Alright, do I need to head over there to grab her?”
“Yes, but before that you need to speak to her teacher, he saw what happened.”
Katsuki breathed out a breath of annoyance but nodded to himself. “Yeah, of course, I’ll be there in ten minutes.”
He hung up the phone with a gentle click and pinched the bridge of his nose with a groan. Only his child would get into a fight in the third grade, ignoring the most important thing Katsuki had taught her. Honoka probably didn’t mean to get mad, she had mentioned to the blonde about someone bullying another kid in her class just because his Quirk wasn’t as cool as the other kids.
He loved that his little girl was already in the hero mindset at this early of an age.
”Alright, Shitty Hair you’re in charge,” Katsuki declared as he took the keys to his agency and tossed them to Eijirou, who easily caught them and stuck his tongue out at Denki who tried and failed miserably to catch them.
”What about your paperwork?” The red haired hero asked as the blonde walked to his desk and started packing his bag.
”I’ll do it at home, please don’t fucking burn the agency down while I’m gone!”
”That was one time! I accidentally left the spoon in my noodles!” Denki called out in defense of himself, which the explosion hero chuckled to himself as he slipped out of the agency and into the cold streets of Japan.
Katsuki strolled over to his car, the pro hero pulled his keys out of his jean pockets and pressed a button, unlocking his car with a small beep. He tossed his bag into the back of his vehicle and shut it, quickly getting into the driver's seat and turning it on and started making his way to his daughters school.
Which, funny enough, was the elementary school he grew up at.
As he drove to the school, he hummed the tune to his daughter's favorite song, tapping the leather of his steering wheel to the beat of his hums.
They listened to it everyday while they got ready for bed, Honoka insisted it helped her brush her teeth better.
Katsuki knew it wasn’t true, but he wasn’t going to tell her that.
He quickly pulled up to the elementary school and got out of his car and jogged to the front door of the building, letting the door gently shut the door behind his back as Katsuki stood in front of the office window, waving at who he assumed to be the lady he had talked to over the phone.
”I’m assuming you’re here for Miss Honoka, dear,” the lady guessed as she sat down at her desk and gave Katsuki a gentle smile which the blonde replied with a simple nod of his head.
“That girl, she’s as cute as a bug's ear and as sweet as ever, she’s always helping me take care of my little garden outside,” the woman spoke highly about his daughter as she wrote his daughter's classroom number on a sticky note.
The blonde haired male chuckled at the sweet woman's words, it made him proud to hear such good things about his little sidekick.
And maybe it filled his ego up a little more, but he was going to ignore that.
He took the note from the woman's hand with thanks and started to make his way down the hall, looking outside the windows as he walked past them.
The students must be at recess since they're outside, he realized.
Oh how he missed being able to just simply play on a playground….
Now he fights on battlegrounds and protects citizens.
Katsuki stopped in front of the classroom number and looked at the note in his hand to make sure he got it correct and slipped the note into his pocket when he knew he got it right. Without knocking on the door, the explosion hero opened the door with a quick twist of nob.
”Hey, I’m here for-“
His words were cut short when he laid eyes on his daughter's teacher, instantly recognizing who it was as soon as he opened the door.
Those wide green emerald eyes that stared back at his own ruby ones, those freckles that dusted his nose and cheek that looked too similar to his daughters own, and that messy curly hair that matched the color of his eyes.
Katsuki remembered those features, remembered the name and tasted the familiarity of the letters as they slipped off his tongue and out his mouth and formed a name he hadn’t heard or spoken since middle school.
”Izuku?”
“Kacchan?”
The green haired male must have felt the same thing the blonde had, if the shock in his tone and the way he was clutching the papers on his hand said anything to prove that. But the way his eyes got even wider when Katsuki spoke his name as if it was something the blonde had been searching for was finally standing in front of him.
To Katsuki, maybe it was.
The blonde broke the awkward silence with a tiny fake cough, rubbing the back of his head as he looked down to stare at the wooden boards of the floor as if he had suddenly found something interesting.
He didn’t, he just hated dealing with awkward situations.
”Uh, what brings you here?”
Katsuki sighed in relief when Izuku decided to break the silence.
He finally looked at the other male, suddenly feeling shy when he saw his old childhood…..
Friend? Could he even call the other male that? Did Katsuki even deserve the right to call Izuku that, after the way he treated him so harshly back then?
The blonde mentally pushed the thought to the back of his head, deciding he would think about it before bed tonight.
“Um’ got a call, asking me to come in because my kid got into a fight,” the pro hero answered as he walked to the other male's desk. He glanced at Izuku, who tilted his head at him in confusion.
’Right,” Katuski thinks to himself as he remembered that the shorter haired male didn’t know anything about his child and how he became a single father.
”Honoka Bakugo, she’s my daughter,” he stated as he watched the teacher sit down at his desk and set the papers down, Katsuki following his lead when Izuku waved his hand for him to sit.
”Wow, you have a kid, that’s……”
”That’s…What?”
”Nothing bad, it’s just that….Uh.” The pro hero watched Izuku try to get the right words to come to that brain of his that Katsuki had no doubt was as smart as ever. “Phew this is awkward….”
”Izuku, it’s okay,” Katsuki reassured the other male and slumped into his chair, running his calloused fingers through his spikey hair with a sigh. “I mean, fuck it’s been how many years since we’ve seen each other?
He observed the other male as he did the same at the blonde but stared at his grading papers.
”I…I don’t know,” the green haired male said with a soft chuckle, opening his mouth as he was about to say something but was interrupted by the door opening and the voice of a little girl coming into the classroom.
”Daddy, you’re here!” Katsuki heard his daughter squeal in excitement, turning to watch his little sidekick run over to him with wide arms, which the blonde eagerly responded to by picking her up and giving her forehead a gentle kiss.
”Hey, sidekick,” Katuski said with a smile, ruffling her hair with a chuckle. “Wanna tell daddy why he got a call from your school saying you got into a fight?”
Honoka groaned and frowned at him.
”We talked about this, you can’t fight kids at school.”
”But daddy!” Honoka tried to protest.
”No buts, we’re gonna have a talk when we get home,” the explosion hero told his daughter with a stern but gentle tone, setting her down and patting her head. “Now why don't you get your stuff and pack up, daddy has to talk to your teacher for a minute, okay firecracker?”
He watched his daughter nod her head and move to leave the classroom.
Waiting for his daughter to leave, the blonde turned to look at Izuku again after the door closed and gave him an apologetic expression.
“Sorry she beat up a kid, she's never done that,” Katsuki mumbled gently, noticing the other male snort a small laugh and shake his head, his green curls bouncing slightly.
Is it bad that Katsuki really wanted to pet Izuku's hair right now?
“Well I'm glad she's only done it once, and in my classroom and not in someone else's," Izuku stated with a gentle smile and leaned down to grab a file from his desk drawer, gently placing it in front of the pro hero when he got back up.
“And if I'm gonna be honest with you, the kid had it coming.”
Katsuki looked at Izuku with a surprised look.
“I'm not defending what she did, Honoka could have done something better, but damn if I said that kid wasn't annoying I would be lying ...His parents are worse too.”
The blonde chuckled at his words.
“Well, Katsuki, thank you for coming in on such short notice,” Izuku said and stood up from his desk, Katsuki following suit. “I know how busy you must be.”
Katsuki shrugged his shoulders. “It's fine,” he replied.
The two stared at each other for what seemed like forever, as if the two were too scared to move. As if one wrong move could break whatever good thing was happening between them right now.
“Izuku, look, back then-” Katsuki started but was rudely interrupted by a finger being pressed against his lips, making him look at Izuku with a weird expression, causing the shorter male to let out a giggle.
“Let's get a drink tonight, there's a bar downtown I haven't tried,” Izuku offered and handed him a piece of paper. “Besides, we should catch up.”
Katsuki stood there, not knowing if he should be shocked or impressed about the new confidence that Izuku had grown since he last saw him….
Back when Katsuki was a dick to him.
God, thinking about that makes him want to throw up whatever he had for lunch, if he even ate anything for lunch today.
“Katsuki?”
The blonde snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Izuku, turning his head to look where the other male was pointing to, which was his daughter waving at him through the window.
“I'll see you tonight,” Izuku told him as he walked them out of the building, waving goodbye before walking back into the school.
And if Katsuki went home in a better mood that day, nobody else needed to know that.
But fuck…
When did Izuku Midoriya turn pretty?

Chapter Text
“Oi sidekick, are you ready to go to grandma and grandpas for the night?” Katsuki called out as he packed Honoka's overnight bag, putting her Dynamight plushie and All Might blanket in along with her Red Riot pajamas. It was really cute how obsessed his daughter was with superheroes, which is the reason why most of Katsuki's purchases mostly consist of super hero merch, but he’s glad to know he’s his daughter's favorite hero.
”I’m ready daddy!”
Katsuki zipped up her bag and turned around, smiling and letting a chuckle slip past his lips as he watched his daughter proudly walk into her bedroom, wearing a full on mini Dynamight costume, hands on her hips and a giant grin on her face as she looked at him.
“Don’t worry, daddy, I’ll protect grandma and grandpa from the big bad villains!” Honoka promised with a loud laugh, making Katsuki roll his eyes and scoop her up into his arms to kiss her forehead with a laugh of his own.
“Is that so, you gonna fight those big scary bad guys while I’m gone?” He asked with a playful tone as he bent down to grab the bag, letting out another laugh when his daughter gave him the most dramatic nod he thinks he’s ever seen.
Katsuki thinks if she nodded any harder her head would’ve started spinning around.
”Well that’s good, ‘cause I’m pretty sure they’re in the living room.”
The blonde male let out another laugh when Honoka squealed excitedly and quickly ran out of the room and down the hall towards the living room, the sound of her little boots clicking on the floor fading away.
Katsuki is starting to think his little girl might have ADHD or something with how she always has to be moving.
The explosion hero followed the little girl into the living room and waved at his parents who had already picked his daughter up, Mitsuki ruffling Honoka’s hair and Masaru kissing her forehead, making her giggle.
”Sorry for the late notice, something came up,” Katuski apologized and set the bag next to the door, straightening his back with a groan as he stood up from where he was bent down. He should probably go to the chiropractor before he really fucks up his back doing something stupid.
”Oh don’t be sorry brat,” Mitsuki scolded her son, but there wasn’t any harshness in her tone as she turned to look at the blonde male. “We love spending time with your little sidekick, and if anything you don’t let us have her enough.” The blonde male knew the old hag was right, he really didn’t let Honoka out of his sight unless it was super important and he needed to be gone.
”Don’t call me a brat, hag,” Katsuki mumbled and moved to stand in front of his little family, leaning down to hold his fis up in front of his daughter, giving her a small smirk when she turned her attention to him instead of her grandfather.
”You gonna be a good sidekick for them, firecracker?” He asked gently, smiling when Honoka eagerly nodded her head and tapped her tiny fist against his.
”I’ll protect them no matter what!” She stated proudly, making the three adults laugh. The blonde watched as his father took his daughter out to the car but gave his mother a confused look when she stayed behind, waiting until the two got into the car before turning to look at her son with a worried look.
”When was the last time you slept?” Mitsuki asked and held up her hand when Katsuki opened his mouth. “And don’t lie to me, I’m your mother and I’ll kick your ass if you do.”
The hero opened his mouth and closed it, letting out a sigh as he leaned against the wall, rubbing the back of his head as he refused to make eye contact with his mother. Katsuki has never been good with telling people his feelings, let alone asking for help with them. He was too proud to do so, and even after becoming a father he still hasn’t gotten any better at doing so.
He should probably go to therapy.
”Nightmares again?”
Katsuki nodded his head at his mothers question, turning his head to look at her.
”Yeah, they’ve gotten pretty bad lately,” he finally murmured, kicking the corner of the rug up with his toes. It felt good to finally get it out after struggling to even think about them after what he went through in high school, after the trauma he experienced and the scars he had gained.
Hell, it was hard to even look at his own body without wanting to throw up.
”Have you thought about therapy?” His mother asked as she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
”Am now, actually. Doesn’t sound too bad.”
That earned him a gentle kiss on the forehead.
”Well, if you ever need someone to rant to, give me a call, God only knows you hardly even think about us,” Mitsuki teased her son with a giggle, earning her a glare from her son who shook her hand off.
”Yeah, okay old hag,” Katsuki replied with a small smile.
Mitsuki kissed his forehead again and waved goodbye to him and finally left. The hero watched out the window as she got into the car and drove down the driveway and away from the house, leaving the blonde in the quiet of his own home and with his thoughts.
Sighing, he reached into his pocket to grab the paper Izuku had slipped into his hand and opened it, letting a look of surprise settle across his face as he saw the other male had written his number down.
That was fast, Katsuki didn’t even have to ask.
The blonde pulled out his phone with his free hand and put the number in his phone, biting his lip as he thought of what to send Izuku.
‘How the fuck do I start a conversation with someone I haven't seen in years,” Katsuki thought to himself, mentally cursing himself as he struggled to come up with an idea that didn’t sound stupid or fucking boring.
Finally, he let out an annoyed sigh and typed the first thing that came to his mind.
Katsuki: Hey nerd
The blonde quickly shut his phone off and hid his face into his free hand, silently judging himself for not being able to start a fucking normal conversation.
If he tapped his foot impatiently, the hero chose to ignore it.
Feeling his phone vibrate, Katsuki quickly turned it on and looked at it, sighing in relief when Izuku responded.
Izuku: Hey Kacchan, sorry for interrupting you at the school, didn't feel like it was the right time to talk about things 😅
‘Of course you would use an emoji,’ he thought to himself as he typed out his response and asked for the address of the bar, shutting his phone off once again after he got it.
Katsuki rubbed his face and looked at his outfit, letting out an annoyed groan.
Now he has to fucking find an outfit to wear.
・・・・・
The explosion hero stood in front of the bar, hands in his pockets as he frowned and rubbed the back of his neck. He didn’t know why, but Katsuki felt like he wasn’t supposed to be here, and was a little surprised that Izuku requested a bar of all places to meet up. If anything, the blonde thought the shorter male would have picked the new All Might diner that was just recently put here in Japan.
But he guessed he didn’t really know much about Izuku nowadays, since it has been a long time since the two have last seen each other.
Finally gathering the courage, Katsuki fixed his spikey hair and opened the door and stepped inside, cringing as soon as he smelled the scent of multiple alcoholic drinks.
He waved at the women who welcomed him and looked around, stopping when he noticed a head of green hair waving at him, a wide smile on the shorter man's face.
Katsuki gave Izuku a small and nervous wave and walked over to him.
“Hey Kacchan,” Izuku said softly as the hero sat next to him.
“Hey Izuku,” the blonde responded with a small smile as he sat across from the male.
The two stared at each other awkwardly, both not saying anything as if one wrong move would shatter it.
“How about we order some drinks and talk, yeah?” Izuku gently spoke up and gave the blonde a reassuring smile, handing him a menu. “That way it'll be easier to catch up and it won't be so awkward.”
Katsuki let out a breath of relief and took the menu from the shorter male, his fingertips brushing against the others.
“You fucking read my mind.”
The two men quickly ordered their food and drinks, both getting whiskey and a side of sushi to share as they started talking about what they've been up to.
“So wait,” Izuku said as he set his glass of whiskey down, a giggle escaping past his lips as he looked at Katsuki. “You're telling me that you once had to have a muzzle put on you because you got mad that you won at the Sports Festival?”
“That's not the only reason,” Katsuki argued with a frown and took a sip of his drink before grabbing a piece of sushi with his chop sticks. “But…yeah, the school had to muzzle me.”
The shorter male let out another round of giggles, hiding his red face behind his hand.
Katsuki thinks his heart would have stopped beating again after hearing Izuku giggle.
Eventually the shorter male calmed down and smiled at the blonde.
“I missed you, you know.”
Katsuki stopped as he was about to put the piece of sushi in his mouth and looked at Izuku.
“I didn't stop thinking about you the whole time I was in America,” the green haired male continued as he looked down at his drink and swirled it around.
The blonde sighed and set his chopsticks down to run his fingers through his hair.
“Me too, Izuku,” he confessed, which earned him a surprised look from the shorter male. The hero glanced at him, sharp ruby meeting gentle green, and took a deep breath to calm himself.
“I'm sorry, Izuku, for how I treated you back then,” Katsuki started, rubbing the back of his head as he tried to get the correct words to form.
“Growing up, and after you moved, I kept thinking back to when I told you to jump off the roof…And I've honestly hated myself since…I shouldn't have bullied you because you were different-”
Izuku started to fucking giggle.
Katsuki stopped talking and looked at the other male, confused as to why he was laughing or maybe the blonde was hearing things.
Nope, Izuku was laughing. Tears started to form in his eyes as he held his stomach, head thrown back as he tried to breath.
“W-what's so funny?” The hero asked with a slightly annoyed tone, watching the teacher finally calm down and wipe his eyes.
“Kacchan, I'm not gonna lie,” the green haired male said, smiling gently as a few more chuckles slipped past his lips. “I never took you seriously when you bullied me. Honestly I ignored it most of the time.”
Katsuki gave him an even more confused look.
“Look, your words really didn’t bother me.”
“But you're laughing because…?”
The blonde watched as the teacher took another sip of his drink, reaching his hand to rub the back of his neck as he waited for Izuku to answer.
“You don't need to apologize for something you did when we were twelve,” the shorter haired male stated as he set his cup down. “Besides, we're both adults now, and I can see you've changed….But I accept your apology anyway.”
Katsuki just stared at Izuku, not knowing if he should argue back or try to keep on apologizing. He was honestly expecting a different reaction from the shorter male, at least a little bit of a stern talking to that the blonde usually got whenever he apologized when he caught himself being rude for no reason. He wasn’t expecting Izuku to giggle and tell him it wasn’t that big of a deal.
The blonde let a small smile grace his face and nodded his head, picking up his glass and bringing it up to his lips. “Yeah, yeah okay,” he said and took a drink, the amber liquid burning his throat.
They continued talking like nothing had changed between them, as if nothing changed between them, and maybe nothing did. Izuku told him about America, all the different people he met, the schools he went to, and that he went to college for Quirk Analysis and to become a teacher. The whole time Katsuki just sat and listened, slowly realizing he missed hearing the shorter male ramble on and on.
The blonde told the other male about UA and his Agency, his friends and partners, and even explained how Honoka came into the blonde's life. He didn’t mention everything, deciding to keep the nightmares, panic attacks, trauma, and scars to himself.
Katsuki wasn’t ready to open those wounds yet.
Minutes turned into hours and eventually the two paid for the drinks and food, Izuku insisting he paid for everything but Katsuki just waved him off and already handed the bartender his card. That earned him a tongue stuck out at him by the shorter male, which made the blonde chuckle.
The pro hero and teacher left the bar and stepped out onto the street, the fresh air hitting Katsuki's nose as he breathed it in and relaxed his shoulders.
”Did you drive here?” The blonde asked as he glanced at Izuku who shook his head.
”Nope,” the green haired male stated with a smile as he rocked back and forth on his heels. “I live down the road, a couple of blocks away from here, so I just walked.”
The taller male snorted and shook his head. “Why the fuck did you walk here in the cold, are you trying to get sick or something?” Katsuki asked as he reached up and ruffled the other male's hair. Izuku looked around and turned back to the blonde, a smug look on his face.
“I don’t see your car anywhere.”
The taller male rolled his eyes and started walking, waving his hand for Izuku to follow.
“C’mon nerd, I’ll walk you home.”
The blonde pulled out his phone and texted his mother as they walked down the busy streets of Japan, Izuku humming a small tune that Katsuki recognized as a song from an old All Might movie they used to watch when they were kids.
The explosion hero caught himself smiling.
“Kacchan wait!”
Katsuki yelped when the shorter man tugged on the collar of his shirt and yanked him back, making the blonde stumble slightly as he turned to look at the teacher with a glare.
“What the fuck was that for, nerd?” Katsuki mumbled as he fixed his shirt.
“Look,” Izuku stated and pointed to a window of a convenience store, where two card packs of old heroes sat on display. The older male glanced at the green haired male and gave him a confused look, which earned him an eye roll.
“Those are the same packs we had back when we were children,” Izuku explained as he pointed to the cards again.
“Oh yeah,” Katsuki said as he got a closer look. “Surprised they're still selling them.”
He heard the other male hum in response.
“We should buy one each, see what we get!”
The blonde snorted. “What are you, five?”
Izuku pouted at him and tugged at Katsuki's sleeve, giving him a smile and a tilt of his head.
“C'mon, for old times sake.”
Katsuki doesn't remember buying anything as fast as he did with those cards.
Both males stood next to each other, holding the cards in their hands as if they were something precious, and to Katsuki they were. Call it nostalgia or whatever you want, this moment will be precious to him, even if he doesn't admit it. Taking a deep breath, they both opened the pack at the same time and looked through them, smiling at each other when they both got the same card.
Izuku giggled, and Katsuki's heart did a little hop at the sound.
“We got the same card.. Again,” the shorter haired male stated with a soft chuckle as he showed the taller male.
“That we fucking did,” he responded with a chuckle, looking at the other male with a small smile.
When did Katsuki smile like this, other than when he was with his daughter?
“Maybe it was fate,” Izuku stated as he looked at the blonde again with a smile.
The two males continued walking towards where Izuku lived, still talking about whatever there was to talk about until they reached the shorter males door.
“Thanks for walking me home,” Izuku said with a soft smile, rubbing the back of his neck with a chuckle. “Even though you didn't have to.”
Katsuki snorted. “My old hag taught me better than that,” the blonde replied. “Besides, I'd hate for something to happen to a pretty thing like you.”
Katsuki froze, immediately cringing at the words that left his mouth. He doesn't think his face has ever been as red as it is now.
Shit, he probably had too much to drink.
“Shit, sorry,” the blonde mumbled an apology, rubbing his head with his hand. “It's probably the drink talking.”
He looked at Izuku, who just smiled at him and shook his head before speaking.
“Well then, now I don't feel as worried about my safety knowing a handsome hero like you is looking out for me,” the shorter male said with a wink and leaned in closer to whisper in the blonde's ear.
“And that's not the drink talking.”
Katsuki blushed again.
“Anyway, I have paperwork to grade, goodnight Kacchan!” Izuku explained with a giggle as he went inside his house, leaving the pro hero outside with his own brain.
Katsuki was so fucked.
Chapter 3: Chapter 3
Chapter Text
It had been a couple of days since Katsuki and Izuku went to the bar, a couple of nights since the blonde apologized, and things about the hero seemed different. He woke up in a better mood, the dark circles under his eyes weren’t as bad as they usually were in the morning, and he actually started thanking Denki when the electric hero brought him his coffee in the morning.
Fuck, Katsuki even started whistling when ever he came into work.
To be honest, it was starting to weird everyone out. Not in a good or bad way, it was just strange. Sure, his temper has gotten better since he adopted Honoka, but this was fucking different.
The explosion hero made it to work on time after dropping his daughter off at school, opening the door to his agency as he whistled a tune. From what song, he couldn’t tell you, he just remembers that Izuku recommended it to him last night and Katsuki listened to it while making dinner.
Honoka liked it too, since she wouldn’t stop asking Katsuki to keep playing it over and over again.
He made sure to thank Izuku that night before he went to bed.
Katsuki grabbed his coffee from Denki with a small thanks as he made his way to his office, steps calm and focused as he looked at the schedule he had for today on his phone. The blonde sighed in annoyance as he noticed that he's not doing patrols today, just paperwork.
He missed going out on patrol.
Pressing his back against the door of his office, Katsuki smiled as he saw that Izuku sent him a new recipe. The green haired male had told him that some of the food in America was good and that he often missed some of it, so the blonde offered to cook some of the meals if Izuku sent him the recipes.
And it gave the hero the chance to invite the shorter male over to his house and wow him with his cooking skills.
In a platonic way, of course.
Katsuki used his body weight to push open his officer door without taking his eyes off the screen until he saw Mina and Eijirou sitting at his desk, their expressions confused and concerned. The blonde raised an eyebrow at the couple and slipped his phone into his back pocket.
”Why the fuck are you two extras in my office?” The blonde asked as he set his bag down.
”Why are you in such a better mood?” Mina asked as she pointed an accusatory finger at the male, who raised a brow at her in return. He rolled his eyes and walked over to his desk and sat in his chair.
”What the fuck are you two talking about?”
”You literally come into the office whistling and hardly snap at us,” Eijirou pointed out as he sat on Katsuki's desk, the pro hero giving the red haired male a sharp glare. The other male held his hands up in defense and hopped off his desk.
Katsuki sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. “Can’t I just be in a better mood for no reason?” He asked with an annoyed tone, but it didn’t hold any malice in it. The blonde groaned when the couple simply shook their heads. He rubbed his head with his hand and sighed again.
”If I tell you, will you leave me the fuck alone?”
Katsuki doesn’t think he’s seen a bigger grin than the one Mina is rocking right now.
“An old friend of mine from my childhood came back from America and is my daughter's teacher,” the blonde stated as he leaned further back into his chair, arms crossed over his chest. “We went to the bar a couple of days ago to catch up…And we’ve been talking since.”
The explosion hero watched Mina’s and Eijirous faces as they took in the information, the pinked hair female letting out a laugh as she held out a hand, her shoulder shaking as she let out a burst of giggles and curses. Her husband groaned and pulled out cash from his pocket and handed it to her.
”Fucking knew it!” Mina shouted as she stood up and walked out of Katsuki's office, holding up the cash in her hands and waving it around in pride. “Denki, pay up!”
The blonde heard the electric hero whine in protest and gave Eijirou a confused look, growling in annoyance when his friend just shrugged his shoulders with a small laugh.
”We all made a bet on what the reason was for your better mood,” the red haired male explained with a wave of his hand.
“What the fu—“
Eijirou shushed him by holding up his finger and shook his head, which made Katsuki growl.
”Well,” his friend started as he stood up and stretched his back. “I'm glad you're happy, Bakubro. It's a good look on you.”
The blonde clicked his tongue and grabbed a stack of paperwork to fill out. “Yeah….,” he mumbled as he got to work, ignoring the way his stomach started doing flips. He watched as Eijirou placed a comforting hand on his shoulder before walking out of his agency, leaving Katsuki to do his paperwork.
The explosion hero sighed and got to work.
Minutes turned into hours, and Katsuki swore that he lost ten years of his life while doing stack after stack of paperwork. He hated signing stuff about deals, patrols, schedules, and all the other fancy bullshit that came with having his own agency. Guess it serves him right for starting one of his own, god forbid he chases his own dreams.
Katsuki let out a breath and set the pen he was using down onto his desk, leaning his head back against his chair as he pinched the bridge of his nose. His eyes were starting to hurt and his brain felt like it was going to burst. The blonde silently prayed to whatever God there was out there that something would happen to give him an excuse to just leave already.
*Ring Ring*
Speak of the devil.
The pro hero grabbed his phone and looked at the caller, smiling to himself as he recognized the name. He pressed the answer button and pressed it against his ear.
”Hey nerd, what’s up?”
”Hey, what are you doing for dinner tonight?”
Katsuki raised a brow at Izuku’s question, scratching underneath his chin as he turned his chair around to look at Honoka who was doing her homework at the desk next to him. His mom had picked her up from school and dropped her off, which was normal on the days that he couldn’t pick her up.
”Uh, nothing,” the explosion hero answered with a confused tone as he watched his daughter stick her tongue out in concentration. “Why do you ask?”
”Remember my mom?”
“Yeah, what about her?”
The blonde heard the other male let out a sigh. “I kind of mentioned that we met back up…And she insisted that I invite you over for dinner,” Izuku mumbled with a groan. “Look you don't have to-”
“What time?”
There was a long pause before Katsuki heard the shorter male speak up again. “Um…5?”
“Great, I'll be there,” the blonde stated as he stood up and held his hand out for Honoka to grab, watching as she packed up her homework and grab his hand. “I'll even bring my little sidekick with me.”
The pro hero smiled when Izuku let out a small laugh.
“Mom would like that, see you then.”
The call went silent as they both hung up.
“Wanna go meet my Auntie?” Katsuki asked his daughter with a smile, who eagerly smiled back and nodded.
With that, the two left the agency and went to Izuku’s mothers house.
・・・・・
It was dark the time Katsuki and Honoa got to Izuku’s mom’s home, and the blonde could already smell the delicious meal that Inko was preparing, and to say that he was happy to eat her food again was an understatement. Growing up he loved eating her food, especially because she knew the blonde liked spicy stuff so Inko always made sure to add extra spices to his.
How Katsuki didn’t have heart burn issues he didn’t know. But he was grateful he didn’t.
The blonde knocked on the door and smiled when Izuku opened it, a welcoming grin on his face as he looked at the father and daughter duo.
”Well if it isn’t my favorite dynamic duo,” the green haired male said with a giggle and moved out of the way to let them in. “C’mon in, there’s tea and hot cocoa ready.”
Honoka smiled at the mention of cocoa, making Katsuki chuckle. “Thanks for inviting us,” the blonde said as he looked at Izuku who smiled at him. The pro hero thinks he would die if Izuku ever stopped smiling at him.
As soon as the shorter haired male opened his mouth to speak, he was stopped by a woman with the same green hair pop out of the kitchen with a smile, waving at Katsuki before walking over to him.
”Katsuki, look how big you’ve gotten!” Inko stated as she pulled him down for a crushing hug that the explosion hero immediately reciprocated, hugging her tightly as he chuckled when she pinched his cheek.
“Hey Auntie, you look good,” Katsuki complimented Izuku’s mother as he pulled away, watching as Inko giggled and waved her hand before kneeling down in front of Honoka.
”Who’s this little cutie?” Inko asked with a smile.
”I’m Honoka, and I’m gonna be the best hero ever!” The little girl stated proudly, making the adults laugh.
”Well Honoka, I have a bunch of Izuku’s old toys,” the older woman whispered playfully to the little girl who smiled. “Would you like to play with them so your daddy and his friend can talk and help with dinner?” Honoka eagerly nodded and followed Inko to where she kept the toys.
Izuku and Katsuki chuckled and looked at each other. ”What’s for dinner?” The blonde asked as he followed the shorter haired male into the kitchen after he took his shoes off and put them neatly by the door.
“Katsudon,” the green haired male answered with a chuckle as handed Katsuki a cup of tea and took it with a small thank you. “Thanks for coming, really, mom was excited when I told her you were coming.”
The pro hero smiled and sipped his tea. “Yeah well, I missed her and her cooking,” Katsuki explained with a chuckle. He watched as Izuku rolled the sleeves of his sweater up and leaned against the counter, a smug grin on his face as he tilted his head at the taller male.
“Is that the only thing you missed?” The green haired male asked with a teasing tone, chuckling when Katsuki hummed in thought and moved to stand in front of him.
”Well, there was another thing I missed,” the blonde replied playfully and tugged on a curl of the shorter male’s green hair, making Izuku giggle and smile at him. The explosion hero felt butterflies in his stomach at the sight. He carefully moved his hand to cup the other male's cheek, blushing when Izuku nuzzled into it.
”Yeah,” Katsuki mumbled with a smile, stroking the freckles on the other man's cheek with his thumb. “I definitely missed you too.” The tension between them was almost close to snapping, and the blonde was starting to feel it. He didn’t know if Izuku did, but he hoped the other male felt the same way he was feeling at that moment.
The taller male quickly pulled his hand away and shoved it in his pocket when Inko entered the kitchen, leaning against the wall with a smirk when she saw both men fiddling with the food with red faces. Katsuki blushed harder when she gave him a knowing look.
“Well, it looks like dinner is ready,” Inko said with a giggle as she walked over to Izuku and leaned forward to whisper into her son's ear, whatever it was made his face turn as red as a strawberry and stutter at her. Katsuki watched with a small smile as he watched the two. He helped grab bowls and set the table before calling Honoka over for dinner, who quickly ran into the kitchen and sat at the table with a grin.
The three adults sat at the table and began to eat, Inko telling embarrassing stories to Honoka about Katsuki and Izuku when they were he age, and the two men hiding their faces in embarrassment. The blonde haired male watched as Izuku giggled as his mother recalled the time they both ran into the same tree branch at the same time. Katsuki chuckled to himself when his daughter pointed at him and called him silly.
”So Katsuki,” the blonde male looked at the green haired woman as she called his name, giving her his full attention. “How is pro work going?” Katsuki swallowed the noodles in his mouth and set his chopsticks down on the napkin next to his bowl.
”It’s going good, busy, but nothing I can’t handle,” the hero replied with a small smile, grabbing the napkin and reaching over to his daughter to wipe off a noodle that fell on her chin. Inko hummed in response, a small smile as she looked at him with pride in her emerald eyes.
”Any lucky women or men in your life?”
Katsuki choked on a noodle at the sudden question, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand when he stopped. The blonde looked at her and shook his head while clearing his throat.
“Mom!” Izuku whispered harshly at his mother, who innocently shrugged her shoulders at her son.
”No, Auntie,” the blonde answered with a small chuckle as he looked down at his bowl of katsudon. “I haven’t dated anyone.”
He noticed the green haired male smile softly to himself, but didn’t mention it.
“Well, I know a certain someone who’s single and likes blondes,” Inko said and let out a laugh when Izuku turned red and groaned, burying his face into his hands as he slumped further back into his seat. Katsuki chucked and leaned his head towards the other male.
”Oh, Izuku, why didn’t you tell me?” He teased and laughed when the other male flipped him off with a glare.
The rest of the dinner went well. Katsuk told them about his agency and how his parents have been, and Inko and Izuku showed him pictures of all the places in America they went to when they were living there.
After they ate, Katsuki told Honoka to go play again so he and Izuku could clean up. She smiled and left with Inko who told them she would play with the little girl, saying how she missed playing superhero with a kid ever since Izuku grew up.
The two men got started with the dishes in silence, but it was peaceful, the sound of the bowls clinking together filling the silence as they both worked.
“Why didn’t you date anyone, if you don’t mind me asking, Kacchan.”
The blonde stopped washing the bowl in his hands and looked at Izuku, who’s cheeks were red as he stared back at the pro hero. Katsuki sighed and put the bowl back into the sink as he thought about his answer.
It was a simple one, really.
”I went on dates, just didn’t date any of them,” he mumbled softly and looked down at the water filled sink.
”Why?”
Katsuki bit his bottom lip.
”Because they weren’t you.”
The explosion turned his head to look at Izuku, his eyes going wide as he notice the teacher wiping a small tear from his eyes before bigger ones started rolling down his freckled cheeks. Katsuki instantly cupped Izuku’s face in his hands and stroked his cheeks, wiping away the stray tears with his thumb.
”Hey, why are you crying, nerd?” The blonde asked with a worried tone, scared that he said something wrong but felt relieved when the other male calmly shook his head, a smile appearing on his face as he opened his eyes to look at Katsuki.
”Nothing,” Izuku answered gently as he wiped his tears again. “I’m just happy we’re together again.”
The blonde smiled at his words.
The two men quickly finished the dishes and cleaned the kitchen before Katsuki got himself and Honoka ready to leave, giving Inko a hug goodbye as Izuku said he would walk the two out to the blonde's car.
Katsuki wasn’t ashamed of the huge smile that crossed his face.
The explosion hero made sure Honoka got into the car and buckled before kissing her forehead, promising that he’ll be in soon, he just wanted to talk to Izuku for a minute and say goodbye. The little girl nodded her head and started playing with the All Might toy that Inko had given her before they left the house.
Katsuki shut the car door and turned to look at Izuku, walking over to him with a smile. “Thanks again, for inviting us for dinner,” the blonde said softly. “I haven’t had something like that in a while, and Honoka was super happy to meet Auntie.”
The teacher giggled and pushed a stray curl of his hair behind his ear as he looked at the pro. “Yeah, I’m glad you guys came.”
The two stood in silence again until the green haired male leaned in and kissed Katsuki's cheek, pulling away with a smile. “By the way,” he started, “I didn’t date anyone for the same reason.”
The confession and kiss made Katsuki look at the teacher, his face red but a small smile on his face.
“Good to know,” he responded gently, watching the green haired male walk back towards the house but stopped him by calling his name. Izuku stopped and turned to look at the blonde, a confused look on his face.
”There’s a re-run of one of All Might's movies being shown at the theater,” Katsuki stated as he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “Would you wanna see it with me?”
The green haired male widened his eyes in surprise before shaking his head with a laugh, moving his arms to cross over his chest.
”Katsuki Bakugo, are you asking me out on a date?” Izuku asked teasingly, a smirk on his face that made the pro hero want to pull him in and kiss him until they couldn’t breathe. The blonde chuckled and looked at him.
”And what if I am, nerd?” Katsuki asked playfully, smiling when the other male rolled his eyes and turn back on his heels to walk back towards the house.
”Then I’ll happily say yes, just send me the details,” Izuku called out. “Have a goodnight Kacchan.”
The blonde watched the shorter male walk into the house before mentally starting to scream in victory as he got into the car and started to drive home, a smile on his face the whole ride home.
Chapter 4: Chapter 4
Summary:
THE DATE IS HERE!
Chapter Text
“Uh, boss, remember that villain that we caught a few months ago?”
Katsuki stopped talking to Tenya, who had visited that agency to discuss patrol routes and turned to look at Eijirou who had his head popped into his office, the red haired hero's mask pushed up to his hairline. The blonde sighed and nodded his head.
”That Parasite guy, right?” He asked as he walked over to the other male, giving him a confused look. “What about that fucker?” A few months ago they had finally caught the villain called Bloodmancer, who could control others' bodies if his own blood made contact with someone's skin. It had taken the team months to finally catch the bastard, and Parasite went to prison for muder and kidnapping.
”You….” Ejirou sighed and waved his hand for the blonde to follow him. “Just come look.”
Katsuki exchanged glances with Tenya before following the other male into the main room where everyone that was part of the agency was waiting in. The blonde leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest, watching as Eijirou nodded at Hanta, who turned on the tv. The explosion hero watched carefully as a news broadcaster was explaining that a break out happened at one of the major prisons in Japan, stating that around fifty different villains had escaped, one of them being Parasite and some are from different groups.
Groups that took the heroes, including Katsuki's group, months or a year to find and turn in.
”Shit,” the blonde heard Denki mutter in fear and annoyance, a worried expression on his face as the lady continued to mention that they are still figuring out who or what caused the break out, but no leads have been found and there aren’t any suspects. Kasuki narrowed his eyes and glared at the television screen before Mina turned it off and looked around the room.
”So…What are we going to do?” Tenya asked carefully, looking at Katsuki with a determined yet nervous expression.
“We’re obviously going to get him,” Denki answered confidently but yelped when Mina slapped him upside the head, making him rub the spot with a pout.
”Obviously, but it took us months to find that guy,” she reminded the team with a sigh, rubbing her forehead in annoyance. Katsuki stopped leaning against the wall and walked over to Eijirou and sat on the table next to him, watching as everyone started to argue about what they were going to do about Parasite and the other amount of villains that escaped. The blonde sighed tiredly and rubbed his eyes.
Of all days, why did it have to be on the day he was taking Izuku to the movies?
”Oh my God, shut the fuck up,” the explosion hero shouted, but only loud enough so that it caught everyones attention, making them all quiet down and look at the blonde who was rubbing his forehead as if he was getting rid of a headache.
Maybe he was, he didn’t even know anymore.
”Tenya, can you and your husband's agency try to find out where most of the old members of the Crimson Hand are trying to relocate, or if there are any leads or witnesses?" Katsuki asked the purple haired hero, who nodded his head.
”I’ll run it by Shoto,” Tenya stated as he pulled his phone out to call his husband, leaving the room. The blonde hummed and turned to look at Hanta.
“Contact the police department and tell them to keep an extra eye on the cameras and be more alert on patrols,” the explosion hero stated to the tape hero, who gave him a confident smirk and a thumbs up. “And tell them to notify us or any agency in the area if there’s something even a little weird going on.”
Katsuki looked at Mina and nodded his head at Eijirou. “Shitty hair, contact Ochaco and ask her if her wife Himiko has anyone at the hospital who got hurt from the break out,” the blonde stated. “I don’t care if it’s a villain or a random extra, just see if we can even get a lead.” The red haired hero nodded his head and dialed her number on his phone and left the room.
”Denki, can you ask Kyoko and Momo if they hear anything to let us know, the smallest sound might be important or useful." Denki nodded his head.
“You got it Bakubro!” The electric hero stated and quickly left the agency to call the couple, leaving Mina and Katsuki alone. The blonde let out a tired breath and fell backwards to lay on the table, throwing his arm over his eyes.
”Why today?” Katsuki mumbled to himself, removing his arm when he felt Mina looming over him, her head tilted to the side as she looked at him with curiosity.
”What’s today?” The pink haired heroine asked with a smile, a knowing look in her black and yellow eyes that annoyed the blonde haired hero to the point where he rolled his eyes and sat up when she moved out of the way.
”Wouldn’t you fucking like to know?”
”Oh I very much would like to.”
Katsuki glared at her but sighed, burying his face into his hands. “I have a date with the guy I told you about,” he stated and glared at her when Mina started squealing in excitement. “If you make a big deal out of it, Pinky Pie, I swear to All Might I’ll ignore you for a month.”
The acid hero giggled as she dodged a pen being thrown at her, sitting next to the blonde with a small laugh, and placed a hand on the male's shoulder.
”I kind of guessed,” Mina stated which earned her an offended and confused look from Katsuki, which made her just shrug her shoulders with a snort. “It wasn’t very hard to figure it out, you’ve gotten easier to read over the years,” she stated with a chuckle, laughing harder when the blonde growled.
”And besides, I’m glad that you’re actually going out with someone you used to be close to.” Katsuki snorted at her words and ran his fingers through his hair as he looked away from her in shame. She didn’t really know how untrue that statement was, him and Izuku weren’t really close back in their middle school days....not in the good way at least.
Hopefully he can make amends for that, even if the green haired male said he already forgave Katsuki.
“Yeah well,” the blonde mumbled quietly to himself as he stared at his hands. “I’m not good at romantic shit, so I’ll probably fuck something up like usual.” The blonde glared at the pink haired heroine again when she sighed loudly and shook her head at him, a comforting smile on her face as she ruffled his head. Katsuki growled and slapped her hand away.
”That’s why you have me, dummy,” Mina stated and pointed to herself confidently, standing up with a stretch. “Just tell my hubby when to grab Honoka, she can hang out with us and Kenji, it’s been a while since those two have had a play date.”
The blonde scoffed but nodded his head in agreement at her words. “Thanks Mina,” the hero mumbled but didn’t make eye contact with her. “I know I don’t say it a lot, but I really appreciate it.”
The pink hero smiled and nudged Katsuki with her foot. “That’s what friends are for.”
The two heroes smiled at each other before Mina looked back at the tv, a frown starting to appear on her face before turning back to look at her boss.
”What are we going to do about Parasite,” she asked with a serious tone, making Katsuki sit up and run his fingers through his spikes again, a sigh escaping past his lips as he thought about what to do. They didn’t have leads so asking people about him or where he could be was off the table, and they didn’t know much about the villain even though they caught him. They were shit out of luck and stuck at square one.
”I…I don’t fucking now,” Katsuki mumbled grumpily as he stood up with a grunt, stretching his arms above his head. “I’ll call you and Eijirou when I figure something out.” He heard the heroine hum in response before standing up to pat his shoulder while walking past him towards the door.
”Well, I’m rooting for you,” she stated with a hopeful smile. “Let’s just hope we can get the bitch soon.”
The blonde hummed in agreement, his eyes widening as he looked at Mina.
”Hey Pinky.”
Mina stopped reaching for the door handle and looked back at the blonde with a confused look. Katsuki looked away with embarrassment and sighed again.
”What the fuck do I even wear to a date?”
・・・・・
The explosion hero stood in front of the mirror in his room with a glare as he stared at his reflection, looking at his outfit with a frown, silently praying that it would just magically change itself and pick something that Katsuki didn’t hate.
Mina had told him to just wear something casual but not too casual, as if the male had any fucking idea what that meant. He didn’t know anything about dates, let alone how to fucking dress for one.
Katsuki had slipped on blue jeans and a black button up, thinking it would look good, but was he so wrong. It was terrible to even look at, just the sight made him want to throw up.
Pinching the bridge of his nose with an annoyed sigh, the hero didn’t even realize that his daughter had come into the room until he felt the leg of his pants being tugged on. Katsuki looked down and smiled when he saw Honoka.
“What are you up to, my little sidekick,” he asked playfully as he ruffled her blonde curly hair, chuckling when she stuck her tongue out at him.
“Why does daddy look unhappy?” Honoka asked with a serious tone. Katsuki smiled at her and shook his head.
“Daddy can't find what to wear for his date tonight,” the blonde explained to his daughter gently while picking her up so she was resting against side. He laughed when she scrunched her nose at him, a look of frustration on Honoka's face as she shook her head.
“What's a date?” She asked curiously.
“A date is when someone goes to do something with someone they really like,” the hero explained, snorting when the little girl looked at him in confusion. “You'll understand when you're older.”
Honoka hummed in response and tugged on a strand of his hair. “Can I help daddy pick out stuff for his outfit?” She asked, and the blonde male smiled and kissed her forehead.
“Of course you can, sweetheart.”
The next thirty minutes was filled with Katsuki and Honoka picking an outfit for the hero to wear, and what she had picked out wasn't bad in his opinion. The little sidekick had picked out a gray shirt and black jeans and a beaded necklace of his hero colors that she had made him for father's day, and the black bomber jacket that Katsuki had been gifted on his twenty-first birthday.
To say that the hero was impressed was an understatement. Katsuki wouldn't be surprised if Honoka grew up to be a fashion expert when she's older.
“Not bad, kid,” the blonde said as he looked in the mirror, smiling when his daughter looked up and gave him a proud grin and a thumbs up.
“Now daddy looks like he's ready!”
“Daddy sure does, huh.” He picked her up again and blew a raspberry on her freckled cheek and tickled her tummy, making Honoka squirm in his arms and giggle.
“Are you ready to go to Auntie Minas and Uncle Eijirous to play with Kenji,” Katsuki asked as he set Honoka back down, watching as she grabbed her bag next to her and nodded her head. The blonde male smiled and held his hand out for her to grab and gently pulled her to the living room where Eijirou and Kenji were waiting.
As they walked into the living room, the blonde waved at Eijirou and Kenji, who was bouncing up and down by his father's feet. The two adults laughed when the kids squealed and ran over to each other, quickly talking about what they were gonna play when they both got to Eijirous home.
“How much do you want?” Katsuki asked the other male as he stepped in front of him, already pulling his wallet out until Eijirou stopped him with a snort, shaking his head at the blonde.
“You don't have to pay me, bro,” the red haired hero stated with a shrug of his shoulders. “You just go have fun….And wear protection.”
The blonde glared at his friend at the last part, earning him a laugh which made him lightly punch the other male in the arm. “That's gross,” the explosion hero mumbled.
The two heroes talked for a few more minutes as they both walked outside until Katsuki stated he had to pick Izuku up. The blonde kissed Honoka's forehead and waved at the others as they left, leaving him to get into his car and drive off towards the green haired male's house.
The car ride there was quiet, leaving the hero with worrying thoughts in his head.
What if he says something stupid that makes Izuku lose interest, or forgets something about All Might and answers a question incorrectly, or what if he trips and looks fucking dumb while doing it?
Okay the last part isn't as bad, but you get the point.
The blonde sighed and decided to ignore his worrying thoughts, mentally pushing them away and instead choosing to focus on getting to the other male's house safely and quickly.
・・・・・
Katsuki always told himself that now because he was the number four hero in all of Japan, that confidence would come naturally to him. Most of his life it did, which makes sense with what his life was like. Awesome quirk, good money and grades, great at fighting, and some other things that he couldn’t remember but knew were there. He had always assumed that him becoming a pro hero would make it better and easier for him.
Well, apparently he was wrong, because now the blonde had never been more nervous in his life as he stood in front of Izuku’s house for the first time.
Maybe it was because he hadn’t actually had time alone with the green haired male in years, or maybe it was because he doesn’t actually know how to do romance at all, or maybe it’s because Katsuki is actually going on a date that he set up with someone he actually likes.
It’s definitely all of the above, and the blonde knows that.
Katsuki stared at the gray door in front of him, not really understanding why his palms are way more sweaty than they usually are and why he can’t just simply knock on the other man's door. Why he was freaking out this much, he didn’t want to even think about. The hero finally sighed and gently knocked on the door, jumping when Izuku immediately opened the door, his green eyes wide in shock.
”Oh Kacchan,” Izuku said with a smile. “You’re here early.” The blonde gave him a soft smile and snorted at the other man’s words.
”Of course I am, nerd,” Katsuki responded and ruffled the shorter haired male's hair, chuckling when Izuku playfully slapped his hand away.
“Are you sure it wasn’t because you were missing me?” The green haired male said teasingly as he walked outside his house and locked the door behind him. Katsuki looked the teacher up and down, appreciating his outfit and started to feel relieved that he didn’t dress too fancy. Izuku was wearing another sweater but it was black with All Mights Logo and it was paired with grey jeans and red shoes.
“Don’t get your hopes up, dork,” Katsuki snorted as he led Izuku to his car. “Nice sweater, really fits the occasion, glad to see you’re still a nerd.” The comment earns the blonde a small smack on the arm which makes his chuckle again. He opened the door for the other male and slid into the seat next to him and started the car.
”I was dressing appropriately, thank you very much.”
”Oh, I can tell.”
Izuku laughs at the blonde's words, and Katsuki swears that he would never get tired of hearing them fall past the shorter male’s soft lips.
The drive to the movies was going well, the two friends talking about what scene was better and what other All Might movies they would like to rewatch. Izuku even suggested they do a movie night and show Honoka all of the old films, and the blonde had never agreed to something so quick in his life before.
The date was going perfectly fine.
Until it wasn’t.
When the two got to the theaters and Katsuki showed the girl up front the tickets, she had told him that those weren’t for the film that they wanted to see. He had accidently bought tickets to a kids film about talking crayons. The blonde knew it wasn’t worth fighting about, and knew it wasn’t the poor woman's fault and that she was just doing her job. So instead of exploding on her, he just apologized for wasting her time and left.
”Sorry for fucking up our date,” Katsuki said with a frown as him and the other male sat at a table outside of an ice cream shop, both drinking vanilla milkshakes. There wasn't anyone around, so it was just the two of them, which was nice. The green haired male just chuckled and shook his head.
”It’s fine, Kacchan,” the teacher stated and gave him a comforting grin. “I’ve seen that movie a million times, besides this milkshake is way better.” Katsuki looked at him in fake shock and put his hand over his heart, acting as if he was offended by the other man's words.
“I’m sorry, is Izuku Midoriya saying that a simple vanilla milkshake is better than his favorite All Might movie?”
That earned him a playful glare.
“I promise I’ll actually take you out,” the blonde stated.
”You really don’t have to, Kacchan.”
”But I want to, nerd.”
The green haired male laughed but didn’t argue, instead they just stared at each other. It wasn’t awkward or weird, it was nice. Katsuki really quickly realized that if he was given a chance to stare into Izuku’s emerald eyes forever, he thinks he would do it in a heartbeat with no hesitation. Maybe this was better than a date to a movie they had both seen a million times, vanilla milkshakes in the middle of Japan with classical music playing in the background.
Katsuki got an idea.
”Dance with me.”
Izuku stopped drinking his milkshake and looked up at Katsuki, who was standing in front of the male with his hand held out. The green haired male glanced at his hand and then back to his ruby eyes, giving him a confused tilt of his head. “Um, what?” The green haired male asked.
”You heard me, nerd, don’t make me fucking repeat myself,” the blonde muttered with a red face. He had never danced with anyone before, fuck he hasn’t even wanted to. But for some reason he felt like it was the right time and place for it. Maybe it was the classical music that Katsuki recognized from when his father used to play it, or maybe it was just the atmosphere, whatever it was the blonde really didn’t care. He just knew that he wanted to have this moment with Izuku.
The blonde felt his body finally relax when he watched the shorter male smile and take his hand, letting the older male gently pull him to his feet and lead him into the middle of the street.
”Okay,” Izuku said with a giggle and let Katsuki take control. “Just warning you that I’ve never danced before.” The blonde chuckled softly and pulled the other male closer to him so that there wasn’t any space between their bodies.
”It’s okay, just follow my lead.”
They both swayed gently to the music from the ice cream shop, neither of them saying a word as if one wrong word could ruin this beautiful moment. The movements were a little awkward, the green haired male accidentally stepping on Katsuki's feet or swaying the wrong way. The blonde didn’t care though, he was just glad to be here with the other male.
”See,” Izuku whispered softly as the explosion hero pulled him back into his chest. “This is way better than that old movie.” Katsuki laughed gently and shook his head.
“And it’s the perfect night,” the green haired male stated, making the blonde look up at the night sky. It was covered in stars and he recognized some of the constellations that were slowly appearing. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
Katsuki hummed in agreement and looked back down at Izuku, who was smiling back at him as they continued to sway back and forth. “Yeah,” the hero whispered gently and rubbed gentle circles in the shorter male's waist.
“But they aren’t as beautiful as you, Izuku.”
The words escaped Katsuki's mouth before he could even think about it, and he started to apologize for it but stopped when he felt Izuku rest his red face against the blonde's chest, a small smile on his face from the words.
The shorter male didn’t need to say anything, and neither did the hero.
They just continued to dance.

Chapter Text
It has been weeks, three weeks to be exact, and they still haven’t found any leads to where Parasite or his stupid little crew could be, and it was really starting to piss Katsuki off.
He doesn’t understand how nobody has heard or seen anything. No witnesses, nothing on the news, no phone calls, fuck even none of the other agency's have heard anything strange come up. Nobody knew anything.
So when the explosion hero asked the other pro heroes at the weekly meeting about any news, he wasn’t shocked when nobody said anything. The spikey haired blonde just sighed and looked at Shoto, who just shrugged his shoulders and asked him for a private meeting in Katsuki's office.
Which is where the blonde was now, bored out of his mind as the other hero talked to him about strategy.
”I was thinking if we expanded or even switched our agency’s patrol routes, we could actually find intel,” Shoto stated as he pointed at a map of his agency's patrol routes.
“We’ve already tried switching patrol routes, scar face,” the explosion hero mumbled grumpily as he sat up in his chair and removed his feet from the desk, a sigh escaping his lips as he stared at the other male, who was standing in front of him with his arms crossed over his chest and that fucking annoying straight face that he always wears.
”Yeah, but that was with Mirio’s agency,” the red and white haired male stated calmly. “Mine and Iida’s agency is closer to yours.” Katsukis clicked his tongue as he looked down at the map that Shoto had brought. It was true, the couple's agency was closer to his, and switching patrols with Mirio's agency didn’t do jack shit.
He fucking hated it when Shoto was right.
The blonde rubbed his face with his hands and groaned. “It’s the same fucking villain and his stupid little fan club,” Katsuki mumbled, his voice muffled by the palms of his hands. “How the hell is it this difficult to catch them again?”
”Well, villains like him are unpredictable,” the younger male said.
“Yeah, no shit Icy Hot,” the blonde snapped at Shoto, who just looked at him unfazed. “It just makes no sense why it’s so difficult to catch this bastard again.”
He rolled his eyes when Shoto told him it was because his team wasn’t looking hard enough. Shoto was always quick to speak what was on his mind, no matter the situation. The explosion hero sat up again and ran his hair through his spikes before turning to look at the board on his wall. It was supposed to be full of clues or anything that could help them find out anything about Parasite, but it was fucking empty still.
”Are we sure there isn’t a single thing,” Katsuki asked and turned to look at the other pro, who nodded his head. The blonde let out an annoyed sigh. “Okay, you half and half bastard, I’ll talk to Mina about switching our patrol routes with your guys’, maybe your team will find something that mine didn’t.”
Shoto hummed in agreement and turned to walk out of his office, stopping in front of the door to look at the blonde. “We don’t know much about his quirk,” the pro hero stated. “Do you know anyone who can help with that at least? The more we know about Parasite's quirk, the more we might know about where he and his friends are.”
Katsuki looked at him as if the other male asked him about his favorite color. “Why the fuck would I know anyone who…” the blonde stopped himself short and grabbed his phone. “Get the fuck out, I have to make a call.”
”Your welcome for the idea,” Shoto called out as he left the explosion heroes office, Katsuki was quick to throw a pencil at the door closed behind the other male. The spikey haired male sighed and called the only person he knew was good with quirks and the only person he could trust to not screw this up.
・・・・・
Izuku hummed a tune as he graded his student’s assignments, sticking his tongue out in concentration as he scribbled scores on his student’s papers. The assignment for today wasn’t anything fancy, just to write a poem about things the students liked about their lives and why. It was simple and didn’t take too long for his smart students, so the green haired male gave them permission to go home early. It gave him extra time to really appreciate his students' work before he had to leave himself.
The teacher grabbed the next paper and smiled when he noticed that the handwriting belonged to Honoka, who was starting to become his favorite student. Well, that’s a lie, she quickly became Izuku’s favorite when she told him she watched all the All Might movies after his little ice cream date he had with her father.
Katsuki must have mentioned to her that Izuku used to love All Might growing up, which he didn’t mind. He thought it was cute that the little girl was not afraid to talk about how passionate she was about other heroes.
It honestly reminded Izuku of himself and Katsuki when they were her age.
The green haired male giggled to himself at the memories of them playing heroes when they were little. God, he missed being young.
Izuku stretched his arms above his head with a groan and let out a small yawn, popping his knuckles as he stood up from his desk and started to pack up. The green haired male slipped on his blazer and grabbed his bag, mumbling to himself about what he was going to have for dinner as he left the classroom and walked down the hall towards the exit.
Feeling his phone start to vibrate in his back pocket, Izuku stopped mumbling and grabbed it to see who was calling him, letting out a snort when he saw Katsuki's caller ID. The green haired male answered the phone with a giggle.
”Hello Kacchan, to what do I owe the pleasure?” Izuku asked as he pushed open the exit door and stepped out into the quiet streets of Japan, the sounds of his shoes clicking against the pavement echoed into the night as he walked to his car.
”What are you doing right now, nerd?”
“Nothing, why?” The green haired male answered as he put his bag into the passenger seat before getting into the driver's seat. “Gonna ask me to dance in the empty streets again?” He smiled when he heard Katsuki let out a chuckle on the other end.
“If you consider an offer to help us find a villain, then yeah, I’m asking to dance again.”
Izuku stopped pulling his keys out of his pocket.
”I’m sorry,” the green haired male said as he stared at his car. “Did you just ask me to help you find a villain?”
”Yes, you fucking nerd, are you deaf all of a sudden?”
The shorter male snorted as he started his car. “No, I heard you,” Izuku stated as he started his car and started driving towards the blonde's agency. “But why me? I'm not a hero and-”
“I don't care if you're a hero or not.” The teacher let out a sigh of relief when he heard comfort in his friend's tone. “Just…come by the agency and I'll fill you in, okay nerd?”
“Already halfway there,” the male stated with a giggle and hung up.

Chapter Text
When Izuku walked into Katsuki's agency, he was expecting a lot of things. Nothing bad, if anything they were good things. The green haired male was assuming he was going to see plenty of pro heroes he would recognize running around the building, lots of people working hard, and probably even students from UA there for their apprenticeships there.
Everything but the last one was true, which weirdly enough Izuku wasn’t surprised by. Katsuki has only had his agency for three years, so the shorter male understands why there aren’t any students here.
What he wasn’t expecting was a group of heroes to crowd him into an empty conference room and start to interrogate him.
“Is this the guy Katsuki was talking about?” A woman with curly long pink hair with black and yellow, a hero Izuku recognized as Pinky. He watched from his chair as the male with black hair and tape dispensers on his elbows, a hero the green haired male knew as Serophane, shrugged his shoulders in response.
”He fits the description,” Serophane said and walked around the green haired male. Izuku swallowed nervously, fidgeting with a strand of string from the chair. “Green curly hair, freckles, and boss wasn’t lying when he said this guy was super pretty.”
“Um, what is happening?” Izuku asked with an anxious laugh.
”Oh, sorry,” Pinky apologized with a giggle, stepping away from the teacher. “We went to UA with Katsuki and were in the same class as him, and he’s been talking a lot about you lately. So when we saw you walk into the building, we had to make sure it was you.”
”Kacchan talks about me?” Izuku asked with a chuckle at the news.
”What the fuck are you guys doing?” The green haired male let out a sigh of relief when he leaned over to look past Selophane, watching as Katsuki walked into the room with a hero the shorter male recognized as Red Riot close behind him. “Mina, why the fuck are you extras interrogating him?”
Izuku covered his laugh with a fake cough when Mina shrugged her shoulders and gave the blonde a wink. “Katsuki, you weren’t kidding when you said his eyes look like emeralds, no wonder you talk about this cutie all the time.” This time the teacher didn’t bother to hide the giggle that escaped his lips when the explosion hero's face turned bright red.
“I don’t fucking talk about the nerd,” Katsuki mumbled and walked over to Izuku, the green haired male taking his hand and allowing the blonde to gently pull him to his feet. “Glad you’re here, are you okay?”
Izuku giggled and nodded his head. “Yeah Kacchan, I’m fine,” he answered with a nod of his head, glancing over at Mina and Sero. “I’m just glad a strong group of heroes was here to interrogate me.” He smiled when Sero and Mina winked at him, giving the green haired male a thumbs up.
”Sorry for that,” Sero said and rubbed the back of his head when Katsuki glared at him. “We wanted to make sure you were actually the guy the boss was talking about and not some guy from the press about to ask us for an update on the case.”
The teacher looked at the spikey haired male and titled his head in wonder. “What case,” the shorter male asked as he glanced around the room, noticing the heroes look away from him and avert their gaze to the floor. He felt Katsuki tighten his grip on his hand before pulling it away, running it through his blonde spikes instead.
Izuku quickly pushed the thought of what it would feel like to pull on those spikes.
”That’s what I wanted to talk to you about,” the taller male stated softly and made his. way towards the door. “Just…follow me, nerd.” The younger male nodded his head and followed his friend, the other heroes close by as they walked down the hall and towards a bigger room. Katsuki opened the door and Izuku immediately knew it was the main meeting room, if the huge screen and giant table in the middle of the room was proof of that.
The teacher sat down when Eijirou pulled out a chair for him before sitting next to him, the other two heroes doing the same. Izuku watched as Katsuki grabbed a remote and turned on the screen, revealing a man with a red mask and black goggles.
”Do you know this villain?” Katsuki asked and turned to look at Izuku, crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned against the table. The curly haired male nodded his head.
”That’s Parasite, he was captured and brought in last year,” the male answered his friend's question. “Why is he important now?” The teacher read all the articles about Parasite and knew that the villain was dangerous, but he also kept up with the news and was glad that he was captured.
”There was a break out at the prison he and his gang were locked up in,” Mina stated softly and the blonde clicked a button to bring up pictures of the break out. Izuku stood up and looked at the images, dread filling his chest at the flames and the ruined prison. He heard about the prison break out from some of the other teachers, but he didn’t know that Parasite was at that prison.
”What does this have to do with me?” Izuku asked as he turned to look at Katsuki, who nodded at the other heroes to leave the room. The green haired male watched as Mina, Sero, and Ejirou left the room before giving his attention to the blonde.
”Izuku, you said you went to college for Quirk Analysis, right?” The explosion hero asked as he shut off the screen, the images of the prison break out disappearing as fast as they appeared, but it did little to ease the worry in the shorter male's stomach.
”Yeah,” Izuku said with a sigh. The room fell silent as the two men looked at each other.
“Look, we don’t know where the hell this bastard is, and we have no leads,” Katsuki explained gently and placed a hand on the shorter male's shoulder, the heat from his palm giving the teacher some comfort as he looked into his friend's eyes. “We don’t even know much about his quirk, so I thought you could help.” Izuku opened his mouth to protest but was quickly shut up by the blonde putting his other hand up.
”Izuku, you’re the smartest person I know, your brain works better than anyone else’s I know,” the blonde stated as he gave the green haired male a smile. “You’re the only person I trust to help me with this, and you know I wouldn’t be asking if I wasn’t serious about this.”
Izuku knew the explosion hero was right, but that didn’t stop the teacher from nibbling on his bottom lip in thought. He’s never done this before, at least not in the safety of his own mind. Sure, he’s dabbled in investigating and he’s great at piecing things together which is why he’s great at tests, but working on a case this big? With an amazing group of heroes?
The green haired thought for a couple more minutes before letting out a sigh and turned to look at Katsuki, putting on the best confident smile he could. “So when do we get started?” Izuku asked and chuckled when the blonde reached a hand out and ruffled his curly hair.
”Now, actually,” the blonde stated with a grin and playfully punched the green haired male's shoulder, which made Izuku laugh. “I know you fucking extras are out there, get your asses in here!” The explosion hero shouted suddenly, causing the teacher to jump slightly at the sudden shout. But it would seem that Katsuki was right, because the door opened and Mina, Eijirou, and Sero walked in with another male behind him. Izuku recognized him as the electric hero Chargebolt.
”Sorry boss,” Denki said as he sat on the table with a grin, glancing over at the three other heroes with a wink. “We totally weren’t eavesdropping for some juicy stuff.” The teacher snorted when Katsuki threw an empty box of tissues at the electric hero's head, making the other heroes giggle when Denki looked at the blonde with a pout while rubbing the back of his head.
“Wow Kacchan,” Izuku started in a teasing tone as he raised a brow at his childhood friend. “I thought you would be nicer to your team.” The green haired male laughed when the other heroes voiced their agreements and the blonde rolled his eyes before walking over to the desk to grab a file.
“Let’s just get fucking started,” Katsuki mumbled as he handed the green haired male the folder. Izuku nodded his head in thanks and opened it.
”There’s barely anything here,” the green haired male stated as looked around the room and gave the other heroes a confused look, his eyes landing on the spikey blonde haired hero who just shrugged his shoulders. The teacher sighed and walked over to the board and grabbed a white board marker, pulling the cap off with his teeth before writing down what was in the file. Parasites quirk, what they knew about his group, and where they last caught him. Izuku stepped back to look at the information.
”Hey,” the curly haired male turned to look at the others in the room. “When you guys captured him, was the warehouse near any body of water or was it just in the middle of nowhere?” He watched as Katsuki pushed himself off of the table and walked toward him before standing next to him to inspect the board.
”It was a few hours out of town, nowhere near water,” Mina answered as she sat down on the table next to Denki, tilting her head in confusion at the green haired male. “Why do you ask?”
”Because Parasite’s quirk wouldn’t work if his base or wherever the fuck he and his group is hiding is near water,” Katsuki answered before Izuku could, making the green haired male smile to himself.
The shorter male turned to look at Mina with a smile. “What Kacchan is trying to say is that if Parasite's base was to be near a body of water, a hero with a water based quirk could easily take him down because blood washes away when water makes contact with it,” he explained to the other heroes who hummed in understanding. “Basically it’s like cleaning a wound with water, the water overpowers the blood.”
The green haired male wrote that down on the board. “Well that answers the question of where he wouldn’t be at,” Izuku stated and looked at Katsuki who nodded in agreement. “But that still doesn’t help us much…Are you sure there aren’t any suspects at all?” The blonde shook his head, making the green haired male sigh and rub his head in thought.
“What about the other members,” the teacher asked his friend. “What about their quirks?”
”One of them has a gas quirk that makes anyone who smells it have nightmares of things they’re afraid of or things they regret,” Eijirou answered and walked over to the other two to look at the board. “Another one could use your own hair to attack you, and I’m pretty sure another one had the ability to make copies of the one person you desired most to trick you.” The green haired male nodded his head and wrote the information down.
”There were definitely more in the bastard’s group,” Katsuki stated and Izuku watched as the blonde pulled out his phone and started typing on the screen. “I’m asking Hawks, Touya, Shoto, and Iida to come over. They've fought other members from the group, so they probably have more info.”
“The more info the better,” the curly haired male stated and smiled at the explosion hero who smiled at him in return, only to let out a growl when Mina and Denki awed at the two.
”You guys are so cute, and Izuku is so smart,” the pink haired hero said with a giggle as she stuck her tongue out at the spikey haired blonde. “No wonder you talk highly of him, Katsuki, he’s smarter than most people working on the case.” Katsuki flipped her off with a huff before turning to look back at Izuku, bumping his shoulder with his own.
”Why don’t you go take a break, get a cup of coffee. We’ll continue when the others join us,” the blonde suggested as he stretched his arms over his head, the muscles under his shirt bulging in a way that made Izuku wonder what it would be like to lick the sweat off of them or what it would feel like to have them wrapped around his throat while the blonde-
And he’s stopping those thoughts before he pops a boner in front of everyone here.
“Here, I’ll show you where it is,” Eijirou walked over to Izuku and pointed over his shoulder, the green haired male nodding his head in agreement as he started to follow the hero, glad for the distraction from the thoughts he definitely shouldn’t be having. Not in the middle of a case where they’re trying to find a villain.
Those thoughts are for later tonight when he’s alone in the privacy of his house.
The agency was quiet as Izuku followed the red haired hero to where the coffee was at, which he assumed was because everyone was either at home or taking a break or fighting crime. He wasn’t going to complain though, the green haired male liked the quiet. It allowed him to think better, if that even made sense. Probably not to others, but to Izuku it did.
They finally got to the break room where the curly haired male shared his thanks and started to make coffee before Eijirou leaned against the table next to him.
”You know, Bakubro does talk about you a lot,” the hero stated, making the teacher stop mixing his drink and look at him with a tilt of his head before shaking his head with a chuckle.
“Well I hope it’s good things,” the green haired male said gently as he took a sip of his coffee, the heat of the brown liquid burning his tongue and throat as he drank it, but it didn’t bother him. The other male laughed and nodded his head.
”Katsuki’s a lot happier now,” Eijirou said gently and looked at Izuku before ruffling his hair with a smile, making Izuku blush slightly. “It’s a good look on him, I mean yeah he was happy before, after Honoka came into his life…But now he smiles when he looks at his phone, and his face lights up when your name comes out of his mouth.” Izuku blushed harder at the red haired hero's words, not knowing if he believed him or not. But the hero wasn’t lying, and the teacher knew that.
He also knew that Katsuki would never lie about him like that, and that made Izuku’s stomach flutter in a way he’s never experienced before. It made his heart beat in a way that probably wasn’t healthy and his cheeks burn up more than they usually do.
“What I’m saying is thank you.” Izuku looked up at Eijirou who was rubbing the back of his head with a smile, a small laugh escaping past his lips as he looked back at the teacher. “Really, it’s nice seeing my bro smile more and actually open up more. I don’t know what the hell you’re doing Izuku, but keep it up.”
The green haired male smiled and nodded at Eijirou, who patted him on the shoulder before leading the teacher back to the meeting room. When they got back to the room, the other heroes were already in the room chatting with the others. Izuku immediately recognized all of them. Keigo was talking to Katsuki, Touya was chatting with Shoto and Iida, and even Ochaco was there as well talking to a blonde girl that Izuku didn’t recognize. He shrugged his shoulders and walked over to the explosion hero and tapped on his shoulder.
”Oh great, you’re here nerd,” Katsuki said as he turned his head to look at the teacher, Keigo waving at the shorter male from over the blonde's shoulder. The teacher waved back with a small smile before letting his childhood friend lead him over to the board again before bringing his fingers to his mouth and letting a sharp whistle cut through the air. The other heroes stopped talking to each other and turned their attention to the front of the room.
Izuku swallowed his nervousness before it became too obvious.
”This is Izuku Midoriya,” Katsuki introduced the shorter male to everyone, the green haired male giving everyone a small wave. “He’s been able to come up with more stuff for this case than any of us heroes have in three weeks.” Izuku looked at him with a shocked face and got a quick glance of red eyes before the blonde continued to speak.
”He needs to know whatever we know about Parasite and the Crimson Hand, so whatever you fucking extras know,” the blonde stated and pointed his thumb at the teacher, who waved nervously again at everyone else in the room. “Tell the damn nerd, the more he knows the better.” Izuku opened his mouth to speak before a man that the teacher recognized as Tenya raised his hand.
“Not to be rude, but he’s simply just a civilian, what does he know about hero work and how will he be able to help us,” Tenya stated calmly as he nodded his head towards Izuku, who accidentally let a small frown appear on his face. He assumed Katsuki saw it, because the blonde immediately shot back at the other hero.
“Izuku’s actually been able to narrow down different locations as to where our little friend might be hiding, four eyes,” Katsuki snapped angrily. “He’s found out more than you have and were able to before we first caught the bastard…So yeah, he’s our best bet at finding Parasite.” The blonde looked around the room and glared at the others, who simply didn’t say anything. The green haired male sighed in relief and smiled at his friend.
The explosion hero told everyone to get to work and Izuku stopped the blonde from walking away by grabbing his wrist, tugging him closer. “Thanks for defending me, Kacchan,” the teacher whispered in the other male's ear. “I really appreciate it. You didn’t have to do that though.” He heard Katsuki click his tongue and saw him shake his head before giving the shorter male a comforting smile.
“What, and let that bastard talk about you like that,” the explosion hero whispered back, annoyance laced in his tone and softness on the tip of his tongue. Izuku smiled lightly when he felt the taller male slip his hand into his own and rub comforting circles into his skin, the callouses on the blondes hands rough against the shorter male's skin. “As if, he doesn’t know you, so why should he get away with talking like that?”
Izuku smiled at his words and watched the taller male walk back to the board before making his way over to start talking to the others.
Seconds turned into minutes and the teacher had more info than he was expecting. Keigo had told him about a villain with a quirk similar to Parasites, but she’s able to control the blood in someone's body if she gets a hold of your DNA so she might know something about Parasite or where he’s hiding, but she’s in prison still so it would be hard to reach her. Mina mentioned something about how all the members of the Crimson Hand have a sort of calling, a whistle of sorts. Sero stated that before they captured Parasite, someone from his group was talking about him like he was a God of some sorts.
Izuku was definitely starting to think The Crimson Hand was a cult now.
At some point the teacher went back to the board and wrote the things he heard down, mumbling to himself but stopped when he felt someone poke his shoulder. Izuku turned around and saw that it was the blonde girl he saw.
”Hi, I’m Himiko, Ochaco’s wife,” Himiko stated as she waved at the male who waved back at her with a smile. “I have something that might help, it’s not big, but still.” The curly haired male let out a small chuckle and gave her a comforting smile.
”Any info is good info,” Izuku stated and watched with curiosity as the woman pulled out her phone and showed him an image of a tattoo on someone's arm.
“I’m a nurse, so I work at the hospital,” Himiko stated with a smile as she pointed at the tattoo. It was simple really, a red moon that looked like it was being held in the palm of a hand. “I saw this tattoo on the arm of a prisoner who was at the prison, but he fell and hit his head pretty hard. I was thinking maybe it’s connected to the Crimson hand in some way. Oh, and he was wearing one of those doctor's uniforms they wear in the prison.”
”That was on the arm of the guy I caught too.” Izuku looked up as Sero pointed at the picture, the green haired male humming in response as before asking the blonde if she could print that out later or send it to him. He quickly gave her his number before politely excusing himself to go back to the board.
”Wait, how did you guys even capture these guys in the first place?” The green haired male asked as he looked back at Katsuki who was talking to Shoto. Izuku watched as the blonde rubbed the back of his head.
”We found clues to where their hideout was, why?” The explosion hero stated as he walked over to the shorter male who was mumbling to himself as he looked at the notes on the board.
“Are you sure, Kacchan?”
”Yes, why the fuck are you asking, nerd?”
Izuku waved his hand at the board. “Because that doesn’t make sense,” he stated as he pointed a finger at the board. “There’s no way a cult like the Crimson Hand led by Parasite would just leave clues for you guys to find them, it just screams-“
Katsuki and Izuku both looked at each other.
”They wanted us to find them,” the blonde mumbled.
Izuku nodded and looked back at the board and walked closer to it. “Parasite wanted you guys to get them so they could get to the prison, and there was a guy dressed as a doctor and he had the same tattoo on his arm as the guy Sero caught,” the green haired male stated and turned to look back at the blonde who was starting to write stuff down on the board.
”The guy was a spy and broke them out…But why break everyone out, not just the cult?” The explosion hero asked. The teacher watched as Keigo walked over and placed a hand on Katsuki's shoulder. Izuku hummed in thought, his eyes going wide as he looked at the two heroes.
The teacher snatched the marker out of Katsuki's hand and wrote one simple word before turning back to look at everyone in the room, eyes wide as they looked at the word on the board. The whole room was now silent and the air was thick with uneasiness.
Izuku pointed a shaky finger at the word and looked back at Katsuki, whose sharp red eyes were as wide as his own.
”To recruit more people for his cult…Parasite’s making an Army.”
Chapter Text
“An army?”
Katsuki looked at Izuku with wide eyes, wondering if maybe he heard wrong or maybe his childhood friend had finally gone crazy. But the green haired male nodded his head and connected the evidence on the white board before putting his hands on his hips. The blonde watched as the shorter male started mumbling before meeting the explosion hero's gaze, nodding his head in certainty.
”It makes the most sense, if you think about it,” Keigo chimed in as he stepped in between the two friends, his red wings slightly hitting Katsuki in the face. The blonde huffed in annoyance under his breath but gently moved the older male's wing out of the way. “One of the main things a cult leader does is try to get others to join their creepy group. And what’s the best way to do that?” The explosion hero watched as the other blonde male turned to point to his husband Touya.
”To go to one of the biggest prisons in the area to speak his shit,” the older Todoroki stated calmly as he walked over to his boyfriend, putting a hand on the older pro hero's shoulder. Katsuki looked at Keigo who waved his finger in the air.
“And you’re sure that’s what Parasite’s actually doing?” Ochaco asked from behind Shoto.
“It’s really the only thing that makes the most sense,” Izuku stated and looked around the room again, a confident look on his face. If Katsuki didn’t know his childhood friend like the back of his hand, he would’ve guessed that this wasn’t the shorter male's first time doing this. Maybe it wasn’t, given how much the green haired male loved talking about doing research on stuff like this.
He would have to ask in private.
“Well, now we have to find where the bastard is and why he’s making one in the first place,” the explosion hero stated as he looked at the board for a few seconds before turning to look at Keigo. “You mentioned that there’s someone in a different prison, someone that might have worked with Parasite, can you talk to her?” The older blonde chuckled and nodded his head.
“I’ll go with pretty bird here,” Touya stated as he stood next to his partner. “She might tell us more if she sees someone who used to work for Shigiraki.” Katsuki glanced at Izuku who gave him a confused look, but the blonde shook his head. That’s a story for a later date. The explosion hero nodded his head in agreement and looked at Himiko and Ochaco.
”Can you guys try to get info out of the guy with the tattoo on his arm?”
”He’s supposed to wake up in a couple of days,” Himiko explained with a smile. “Does that work?” Katsuki nodded his head.
The other heroes in the room offered to help. Shoto and Tenya offered to provide more patrol routes and access to their secret cameras. Katsuki didn’t know when the fuck they got those, but he didn’t care enough to ask. Mina, Sero, Denki, and Eijirou stated that they would look for more guys with the tattoos, and that they would probably bring them in for questioning. They didn’t have much to go by or much to look for, but the blonde would take the help none the less.
”And I’ll see if I can look up anything else that can help you guys with your searches.” Katsuki looked over at Izuku who gave him a small smile. The blonde put his hand on the shorter male's shoulder and gave him a worried look.
”Are you sure, Izuku?” Tenya asked as he titled his head at the duo.
”You’ve helped plenty,” Shoto explained with a wave of his hand towards the board. “You’ve done more than any of us, none of us would shame you if you didn’t want to continue to assist us.” Katsuki watched as Izuku chuckled lightly and rubbed the back of his head nervously. The blonde gave the teacher a comforting squeeze on his shoulder. The curly haired male looked at him and gave him a small smile.
”If it’s okay with you, Kacchan,” the younger male said softly. “I would like to help more.” The blonde smiled and nodded his head, ruffling his forest green hair. Katsuki knows that he probably shouldn’t let Izuku help anymore, not if he didn’t want the male to get hurt. He didn’t know if he could live with himself if something bad happened to Izuku and it was his fault.
But the pro hero also knew that Izuku could handle his own, so he really wasn’t that worried about the curly haired male's safety.
He’s lying to himself, but he’s going to ignore that.
“Well,” Mina said with a grin as she pulled Eijirou and Sero into her sides with her arms, a wicked look in her eyes as she looked at Katsuki and Izuku. “What are we waiting for? Let’s celebrate!”
”Let’s go do karaoke,” Denki stated excitedly, already pulling out his phone in order to probably rent out a place, if Katsuki had to guess. The blonde glanced over at the green haired male who was giggling to himself, watching the four heroes with a small smile as they chatted about what they were gonna sing. The explosion hero watched as Tenya opened his mouth to protest, but Shoto stopped him with a shake of his head.
”Yeah, you guys go do that,” Keigo stated with a chuckle as he grabbed his partner's hand. “You kids have fun, me and Touya have to go grab the kiddos.” Katsuki waved goodbye to the couple before turning back to look at the other heroes, jumping slightly when Denki popped up in front of him suddenly. The electric hero grabbed Izuku’s hand and got up close to his face, and if Katsuki felt a twinge of jealousy that was his business.
”You’re coming right, Izuku?” The electric hero asked with a grin, his eyes wide as he looked at the green haired male. The explosion hero watched as his childhood friend let out a nervous chuckle.
“I don’t know…Would that be okay?” Izuku asked and looked over at Katsuki, as if he was asking the blonde permission to join. The blonde didn’t know why he was asking, if anything the green haired male could do whatever he wanted and the pro hero would happily join if it meant getting to stay by his side.
”Yeah,” Katsuki said with a small but gentle smile and nudged his side playfully. “You’re one of us now, so don’t start asking for permission to hangout, you damn nerd.” The blonde hoped nobody saw his cheeks go red when Izuku giggled.
“Yeah, okay I’ll come,” the shorter male said with a smile, and the explosion hero couldn’t help but smile when all the other heroes in the room started cheering in excitement.
・・・・・
Katsuki wasn’t surprised that Denki went up to sing first, not even shocked when it appeared the electric hero was somewhat drunk. He had warned his friends to not get super wasted because they all had patrol tomorrow, but he also didn’t blame them for drinking, even the blonde was sipping from a glass of whiskey. But that wasn’t what the explosion hero was focused on.
How could he be focused on anything else when Izuku was laughing and dancing, his hips swaying to whatever song Pikachu was currently blurting out. The blonde couldn’t help but stare at the shorter male as he danced and swayed with Mina, who grabbed the green haired male and twirled him around with laughter. Katsuki couldn’t help but think about what it would feel like to have those hips in his hands.
Fuck, maybe he was getting drunk already.
Taking another sip of his drink, the ice clanking against the glass, Katsuki watched as Ochaco walked over to him and stood next to him, a smug grin on her face as she tilted her head at him. The blonde male scoffed and put his drink down on the table behind him. “What do you want, round face?” He mumbled as he looked at her, glaring when she started giggling and shaking her head.
”Oh nothing,” the brunette said with a sarcastic tone as she took a sip of her wine before bumping his elbow with hers. “Just wondering when you’re gonna stop making heart eyes at him and actually do something.” Katsuki glared at her and growled when she laughed harder and shrugged her shoulders. The spikey haired male sighed and crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back against the edge of the table, once again turning his head to look over at Izuku.
”I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about,” Katsuki stated, but he knew she was right. He rolled his eyes when he heard Ochaco scoff.
”Oh please, Katsuki,” she said as she pointed at the green haired male with a smile. “I see the way you look at him, like he’s the brightest thing you’ve ever seen, something that you would rather die than let go.” Katsuki’s eyes widened slightly as he turned his head to look at her, the brunette's words spinning around his mind as he turned back to look at Izuku, who was now talking to Shoto and Tenya.
“Oh yeah?” Katsuki asked with a small chuckle as he turned to look back at the brunette who was nodding her head. “What makes you say that?”
”Because that’s how I look at Himiko.”
The explosion hero choked on his spit from the other hero’s words, his face starting to heat up as he processed them. Maybe she was right. He glanced back at his childhood friend who was still chatting with the other two heroes, and his eyes widened as he felt his palms start to sweat. The blonde was sure he felt his heart skip a beat when the green haired male turned to look at him and gave Katsuki a smile before walking towards him.
”Just think about it,” Ochaco whispered in the explosion hero’s ear before walking. away, but Katsuki wasn’t sure if he even heard her, not when Izuku was walking over to him, a smile on his pretty face and his cheeks red from dancing. The blonde had to mentally stop himself from thinking about other ways he could make those freckled cheeks turn crimson.
”Kacchan,” the green haired male stated with a giggle as he stood next to him, grabbing the blonde's drink and finishing it. “You’re not dancing.” Katsuki snorted and looked at the other heroes as they danced or took shots. He shrugged his shoulders as he looked back at his childhood friend.
”Nah, I don’t dance at these kinds of things,” he stated as he nodded his head towards the bar. “Hell, I usually don’t even come to these damn things. But when I do I usually just drink.” The blonde raised a brow at Izuku as he heard the other male giggle before shaking his head, tilting his head at the older male. The hero wanted nothing more than to cup those cheeks and kiss those soft lips that always smiled at him as if he hung the stars.
”What, did you come here just for me then?” Izuku asked with a teasing tone as he leaned closer to Katsuki, making the spikey haired male's cheeks start to turn red. The blonde chuckled and playfully bumped his shoulder against the teachers.
”Yeah, keep telling yourself that, weirdo,” Katsuki told him with a smirk, watching carefully as the green haired male hummed in response and started to play with the glass in his hand. “Besides, it’s a lot quieter when you’re out there dancing and away from me.” The shorter male snorted.
”Are you saying you like me when I’m quiet?” Izuku asked in mock offense, placing his hand on his heart as if the blonde wounded it.
”The quiet is the best part.”
Katsuki swore his heart stopped when Izuku giggled and leaned up to whisper in the blonde's ear.
”You might like me when I’m loud sometime.”
The explosion looked down at Izuku who was staring back up at him, a smirk on his face as he watched the blonde's expression. Katsuki smirked and tilted his head at his childhood friend and gently took the glass from the shorter male's hand, gently placing it down on the table without breaking eye contact. They stared at each other for a few seconds, neither male moving. The blonde felt Izuk slip his hand into his own and allowed the other male to pull him out to the dance floor. He didn’t know what the curly haired male was planning on doing besides dancing, but Katsuki didn’t care.
As long as it was with Izuku, he didn’t care what they did.
Katsuki allowed Izuku to wrap his arms around his shoulders, the blonde placing his hands on the shorter male's hips, and let the green haired male move them to the beat of the music, a slow song that had some questionable lyrics, but the blonde thought it fit the vibe. The explosion hero smiled softly when Izuku started humming to the lyrics of the song before he glanced at the other heroes in the room. He glared at Mina who winked at him.
”Hey, thanks for helping out with the case,” the blonde leaned down slightly to whisper in his childhood friend's ear, watching as the curly haired male snorted and smiled back at him.
“Well I’m glad you let me,” Izuku whispered back and looked around the room, a soft smile on his face as he watched the other couples in the room dance. Katsuki didn’t look away from the shorter male though, all he could do was stare in awe. “You got a great group of friends, but I think Mina’s my favorite.” The blonde rolled his eyes and let out a small chuckle at the other male's words.
”Glad to hear that, nerd.”
The explosion hero pulled away slightly to look at Izuku who did the same, a smile on his face as Katsuki leaned forward and rested his forehead against the shorter males. “Let me make you dinner tomorrow," he whispered like it was sacred, something only the two could know. And maybe it was sacred, special even. To Katsuki, everything about Izuku was special to him. “A way for me to properly thank you.” The spikey haired hero watched as the other males' emerald eyes widened in surprise before smiling up at the blonde.
“As long as you make me that green bean casserole recipe from America I sent you.”
”For you Izuku, anything.”

This chapter is short, sorry. The next one will be super better than this one, promise!
Chapter Text
When Katsuki woke up that morning, it was because of the sun bursting through the curtains and into his eyes and the sound of tiny feet running down the hall to what he assumed was his bedroom. The blonde usually woke up before Honoka to make her breakfast before they started the day, but today wasn’t that day apparently. Sitting up with a yawn, Katsuki glanced over at the door as it bursted open, his daughter running in with a huge smile as she threw her arms out wide.
”Good morning daddy,” Honoka said as she climbed up into the male's bed. Katsuki smiled and let her cuddle into him, kissing his daughter's messy curls.
“Morning, firecracker,” he replied with a yawn, leaning back so he could watch Honoka fiddle with his blanket. The explosion hero gently twirled a curl with his finger and tilted his head to the side. “What do you want for breakfast kid?” The blonde chuckled lightly when his daughter put her finger on her chin and hummed in thought.
”Cheetos!” She said with a grin, making Katuski roll his eyes and ruffle her hair again.
“You can’t have Cheetos for fucking breakfast,” he said as he got out of bed and pulled on a random shirt he found, one that his mom got for his birthday that said ‘Number 1 Dad’ on it. He would never tell the old hag, but it was one of his favorite shirts to wear when he was at home. “C’mon, I’ll make you pancakes.”
”With sprinkles, daddy?”
”With sprinkles, baby girl.”
The little girl squeaked in glee and hopped off the bed and ran back down the hall and towards the kitchen, Katsuki following close behind with a small smile. Once he got to the kitchen, he started to make a pot of coffee and pulled out the ingredients before checking his phone for emails or texts. It was his day off, so if the blonde had to go into work he was going to blow some damn heads off. Once he made sure nobody was blowing up his phone, Katsuki grabbed a bowl and pan and started throwing the ingredients together.
“Hey daddy,” Honoka said from the table where she was drawing, turning her head to look at the pro hero. “Can we listen to Rihanna?” Katsuki sighed and poured the batter in the pan, turning down the heat so it wouldn’t burn. One night when Mina and Eijirou came over for dinner with their son, Mina had played a Rihanna song and from that day forward, that’s who his daughter asked to listen to everyday. It annoyed the shit out of the blonde male, but if it made his little girl happy, he would bear with the pain.
”Sure thing, firecracker,” the explosion hero replied and pulled out his phone and put on the Rihanna playlist Mina had made specially for his daughter. As the music played on his phone, Katsuki mentally started preparing a grocery list for things for dinner while he flipped a pancake over. The blonde was glad he remembered to save the recipe for the green bean casserole Izuku sent him, or else he would have no fucking idea what to do.
Humming along to the beat of the song that was playing, the blonde watched the pancakes as they cooked, already planning what he and Honoka were going to do for the day. Run to the store, grab lunch at his daughter's favorite sandwich place because he promised her he would last week, and probably come home and watch movies and play with her before Izuku comes over for dinner. Shit, he has to call his mom.
Katsuki grabbed his phone and tapped on his moms number, holding it up to hear as he turned around to pour himself a cup of coffee, tapping his foot impatiently as he waited.
”What do you want, brat?” Mitsuki asked as she picked up the phone, making the blonde growl under his breath.
”I have a date thing tonight, hag,” the explosion hero stated as he poured some creamer in his coffee before taking a sip to make sure it wasn’t too sweet. Once he deemed it perfect, he turned around to flip some more pancakes and put them on a plate when they were done.
“My brat has a date!” His mom exclaimed with surprise in her tone. The male growled and put some sprinkles on the pancakes with some syrup before setting the plate in front of his daughter, kissing her forehead.
”Not the point,” Katsuki said with a sigh as he pinched the bridge of his nose, watching closely as his little girl ate the pancakes with a wide smile. “Can you guys watch Honoka tonight, at least until he leaves?” He rolled his eyes when his mom muttered “if” under her breath.
“Of course, kiddo,” the hero heard his father say from the background, making him smile and sigh in relief.
”Thanks guys, really,” Katsuki mumbled as he rubbed the back of his head before grabbing a napkin to wipe off some syrup and sprinkles that landed on Honoka's chin and cheeks, making the little girl giggle. “I know you guys love her a lot, so if you want her to spend the night that’s fine too.”
”We would love her to,” Mitsuki said with a chuckle. “But, who’s the unlucky guy?”
”None of your business, hag,” the hero growled into the phone, but there wasn’t any malice in his tone. He muttered a quick goodbye and hung up, turning to look at his daughter as the spikey haired male took a sip of his coffee. “Finish up quick firecracker, we gotta go to the store before we get you your favorite sandwich.”
Katsuki chucked behind the rim of his mug, one that Honoka made for Fathers Day last year, as he watched her quickly finish her food before slipping off her chair and running down the hall to get dressed. Grabbing her plate and setting it in the sink, he reminded her to brush her teeth and floss before walking to his own room to change as well.
The outfit was simple, just black sweats and a hoodie of his favorite band. His daughter was wearing a Dynamight hoodie and orange leggings with her converse, her blonde curly hair tied up into mini space buns. The blonde made sure they brushed their teeth and grabbed his bag before leaving, locking the door behind him. They got to the car, Katsuki making sure Honoka got in before himself before getting into the driver's seat. He turned the car on and started to make his way to the market.
Once they got to the market, the hero helped his daughter out of the car before grabbing a cart and pulling out his grocery list, a sigh escaping his lips as he began to walk down the isles. The market wasn’t too busy around this time in the morning, which the blonde was thankful for. Katsuki was not a morning person, so the market not being too busy meant he wouldn’t get as big of a headache.
Grabbing a can of green beans and looking at the label before gently placing the can in the grocery list, Katsuki looked down at Honoka as she pulled on his hand with one of her own while her other one was pointing at someone. Confused, the blonde looked to who she was pointing at and smiled when he saw Inko.
”Auntie?” Katsuki asked as he walked over to the green haired women, pushing his cart along with him. Inko turned to look at him and smiled, waving at the father and daughter duo as they stopped in front of her.
“Oh, Katsuki, what a pleasure to see you!” Inko said with a wide smile, the hero chuckling when she leaned over to pinch his cheek before leaning down to pat his daughter's head. “I heard you invited my son over for dinner!” The pro hero chuckled and rubbed the back of his head.
”That’s right, auntie,” Katsuki said as he nodded his head. “He helped me with a case, so I wanted to thank him.” The green haired woman smiled and handed Honoka a sucker that she pulled out from her purse.
“Well, I’m glad someone else is watching over my son,” Inko said with a chuckle as she looked at Katsuki, a smile on her face as she fixed her purse. “He’s been so busy lately, I’m worried that he’s not taking care of himself as much as he should.” Katsuki pointed his head at her with a confused look.
“What do you mean the damn nerd isn’t taking care of himself?” The spikey haired male asked with concern in his tone, watching carefully as Inko sighed and shook her head, a concerned look replacing the gentle one she was wearing a few seconds ago. It’s true, Izuku sometimes did get so caught up with stuff that he forgot to take care of himself if Katsuki remembered correctly, but it didn’t stop the blonde from worrying. It made him worry even more knowing Inko was upset about it.
The green haired woman suddenly smiled at Katsuki and pinched his cheek again. “But it’s okay, I trust that you’ll take care of my son,” she said with a proud tone, making the explosion hero smile and nod his head.
”I will Auntie, don’t worry.”
Chapter 9: Chapter 9
Chapter Text
If you had asked Katsuki to make any dish, he would tell you that he can fucking make anything that can be cooked. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, hell the blonde could even make fucking ice cream due to his daughter saying he coudn’t do it, and who would the blonde be if he turned down a challenge. The hero could basically make anything that was food related, and he was damn proud of himself for that.
So why the fuck was he having trouble making this damn dish?
It really shouldn’t be this hard, it was just a casserole with green beans in it, simple and easy. So why the hell was Katsuki scratching his head in confusion as he stared at the pan of what he assumed was supposed to look like a green bean casserole.
Maybe it’s because it’s a dish from America and the blonde was used to making things from Japan, maybe it’s because he’s never really heard of a dish of mostly green beans, or maybe he wants it to be perfect for Izuku. Katsuki definitely knows which one it is, he’s just going to ignore it and move on.
Rubbing his eyes with his hand, the hero stared at the pan in front of him, grumbling under his breath in frustration. Katsuki didn’t know if he should scrap and remake the damn thing or just throw it in the oven and pray for the best. The blonde sighed and shook his head.
“Fuck it,” Katsuki mumbled and opened his oven before sliding the pan into it, shutting the door with his hip as he set a timer on the microwave. He really didn’t have the time to start over, even if he wanted to, but Izuku was supposed to be here soon so the blond didn’t have the choice. Grabbing his phone and checking the time, the explosion hero ran to his room to change into something that wasn’t covered in shit.
Katsuki decided on something simple, a dark green long sleeve shirt and black jeans. Easy, not too fancy, and the complete opposite of what was going through his mind right now. The blonde walked out of his room and across the hall to his bathroom and stood in front of the mirror, frowning at his reflection slightly. There wasn’t anything wrong with how he looked, Katsuki looked fine if you asked him and anyone else, but to him he looked like a mess to himself. Reaching a hand up, the blonde messed with his spiky hair as if he was trying to fix it even though it looked the same as every other day.
After a couple of minutes of fucking with his hair and not getting any results that Katsuki liked, the male sighed and hung his head in defeat. He really didn’t know why he was such a mess, well that’s a fucking lie, he knows exactly why, he’s just going to act like he didn’t.
The explosion hero’s glad that no one else is here to see him like this. Honoka already got picked up by his parents and all of his friends knew he was going to be busy tonight, so it was only going to be him and Izuku, which still made him a little nervous being around his childhood friend.
Katsuki jumped slightly when he heard a knock on his door, making the blonde peek out of the bathroom to look out the window that was next to the door. He sighed in relief when he saw a familiar mess of green curls. Call him paranoid for thinking that it could’ve been someone else, but Katsuki is a pro hero and a single father, so he likes to think he has an excuse for being paranoid.
The explosion hero walked out of the bathroom and to the front door, peeking out the side window again to look at the other male. Izuku was wearing a black winter coat, orange sweatshirt, and grey jeans with the same red sneakers he wore everyday. His neck was wrapped in a scarf that had the All Might colors on it in the form of stripes, and Katsuki couldn’t help but smile to himself. The scarf didn’t match the outfit at all and wasn’t even tied correctly, but it looked good because Izuku was wearing it with that smile on his face that made the blonde think he could survive any battle he fought if he would get to see the other male smile again.
Katsuki sighed and opened the door with a small smile. “Hey, nerd,” the blonde greeted as he stood to the side to let the shorter male in. “Took your sweet fucking time.” Izuku chuckled and shook his head at the blonde's words.
“Sorry Kacchan,” the green haired male apologized with a small smile. “Mom wanted me to help her with something, so I stopped by her place first.” Katsuki leaned against the door, watching the teacher slip off his coat and shoes before placing them where they belonged. Izuku’s shoes and clothes looked good next to his own, but the blonde wasn’t going to admit that out loud. Katsuki chuckled and moved from his spot to ruffle his childhood friend's hair.
”I’m just teasing you, idiot,” the hero said softly as he walked past Izuku into his kitchen, making his way towards the cupboards where his cups were. He turned his head to look at the curly haired male, who was looking around the blonde's house, green eyes wide as if he was seeing something for the first time. Katsuki snorted and watched. “You’re acting like this is your first time in a house, weirdo.”
The hero noticed the green haired male's face turn red before he shook his head with a small giggle. “Sorry, it’s just…it’s your house,” Izuku explained as he rubbed the back of his head, his face still red. “So it’s different, I guess.” The blonde’s eyes widened slightly in surprise before closing, a small smile on Katsuki’s face as he reached out and pulled down two cups.
”Yeah well,” Katsuki said as he shut the cupboard doors before turning to look back at Izuku. “Better get used to it, nerd, because you’re probably going to be here again.” The hero noticed the green haired male tuck one of his curls behind his ear with a small smile. Clearing his throat, the taller male opened the fridge and looked inside.
”What do you want to drink?” Katsuki asked as he peeked his head out to look at Izuku.
“Oh…Do you have hot cocoa?” the green haired male asked with a tilt of his head, making the taller male snort and close the fridge before reaching over to open a different cabinet. Honoka loved hot chocolate, so Katsuki always made sure to buy extra when he was out running errands because his daughter liked to have a cup everyday, mostly after school or when she got home from his parents house. The blonde never drank it himself, so he was glad that someone else that’s not his daughter likes it in his house.
But he guessed there’s always time to try something new.
“So, we have an hour and thirty minutes before dinner starts,” the blonde stated as he turned on the kettle before pouring the cocoa powder into the cups. He heard Izuku walk closer to him, making the hero turn his head to look at the other male who had a smile on his face. “What do you wanna do, nerd?”
”I don’t know, what do you wanna do, Kacchan?”
“I asked you first, idiot,” the blonde said with a chuckle, making Izuku giggle.
Katsuki chuckled and poured the water into the cups after the beeper for the kettle went off, handing the shorter male a cup when he was done mixing the drinks. Izuku took the mug with a smile and a small thanks, making the hero hum in response as he watched the other male take a sip of the cocoa.
”Not bad, Kacchan,” the green haired male said with a grin as he looked at Katsuki over the rim of the mug, making the explosion hero’s heart beat a little faster than what was probably good for him. The spikey haired male leaned against the counter and crossed his arms over his chest, watching Izuku take another sip of the drink.
“What, did you doubt my skills on making fucking hot chocolate?” Katsuki scoffed with fake annoyance, taking a sip of his own drink. The blonde immediately spat the drink back into the cup and poured it down the sink next to him, a look of disgust on his face as he shook his head. Katsuki chuckled when Izuku giggled.
“Nope, but I was right when I guessed you weren’t a hot cocoa guy,” the teacher said with a smug look on his face, sticking his tongue out at the blonde haired male when Katsuki glared at him. Rolling his eyes playfully, the explosion hero watched as his childhood friend walked over to the fridge and stood in front of it, his green eyes looking at the pictures that Katsuki had put there.
It was a mess, full of pictures of him and Honoka, his parents, his friends at the agency, and most of it was drawings his daughters made for him. It wasn’t all of them, the rest of the drawings were at his agency in his office, but most of them he hung on the fridge. It made him proud that Honoka loved to draw, and who was he to deny his little sidekick when she asked him to hang them.
”You know, she’s my best student.”
Katsuki snapped out of his little bubble and turned his attention to Izuku, a fond and proud smile on his face as he looked at an image that the explosion hero recognized. It was Honokas first real Christmas, and she had asked to be put on his shoulders to put the star on the tree. His mother had taken the picture when Katsuki wasn’t looking, and when she had sent it to him that night after he put Honoka to bed, the hero cried for thirty minutes, his heart hurting from how much love he felt for that little girl he saved. So the next morning, he asked Momo if she could print the picture out for him. It was Katsuki’s favorite.
“Oh yeah?” The spikey haired male asked, a proud smile on his face as he moved to stand next to Izuku, turning his head to look at the shorter male who did the same. The teacher nodded his head and scratched his chin with his thumb, a chuckle escaping his lips that made the blonde wonder what else they could do or how they would feel wrapped around his thumb or-
Fuck, maybe Katsuki is a freak.
“Yep,” Izuku said with a chuckle and crossed his arms over his own chest. “Great at math, especially fractions, an amazing artist, writing could be better but it’s not terrible.” Katsuki snorted and shook his head, nudging the shorter male with his elbow.
“What did you expect, she is my daughter, so of course she’s going to be fucking great at what she does.”
The blonde's heart jumped when his friend giggled at his words.
The curly haired male shook his head and gave the taller male a soft smile. The two stared at each other, their eyes saying what they were too afraid to say out loud. And they didn’t need to, because they know each other so well that they don’t need words to communicate. Katsuki opened his mouth to say something, but closed it when the shorter male turned his head to look out the window past the blonde's shoulder, a wide smile appearing on the green haired male's face as he pointed to the window.
”Kacchan, it’s snowing!” Izuku said with a smile as he turned his attention back to the taller male, who raised a brow at him. The explosion hero turned his head to look out the window, and the curly haired male was right. Outside there were white snowflakes falling down from the sky, must have been for a while since there was now snow covering the ground. Humming in response, Katsuki turned his head back to look at his childhood friend, but let out a snort when he saw the other male standing in front of the door already putting his stuff on.
The blonde walked over to him and crossed his arms over his chest. “We can’t go outside nerd, dinner’s cooking remember,” Katsuki reminded Izuku as he watched the teacher pull on his coat, an excited smile on his face. The green haired male rolled his eyes and handed the blonde his own coat, a small grin on his face as he looked at the taller male.
“Put the timer on your phone,” Izuku stated as he shoved the coat into the spikey haired male's chest, not giving Katsuki a chance to say anything before handing him his shoes as well. “And besides, we have forty five minutes…And you asked me what I wanted to do, and I wanna play in the snow.” The hero chuckled and shook his head, regretting the decision to ask the other male what he wanted to do. Still, the male grabbed his coat and slipped it on along with his boots, letting a small smile appear on his face when the green haired male clapped his hands in victory.
“Fine,” Katsuki grumbled and poked the shorter male side after he got his stuff on, a grin slipping across his face when Izuku yelped before glaring at him, his lips forming a pout as his freckled cheeks turned red.
“I should have never told you I was ticklish there.”
”Yeah, yeah, whatever, nerd.”
Katsuki followed Izuku out the door and into the front yard, the cold air nipping on his skin as he looked around the snow area. He lived in a small neighborhood, the houses next to his own decorated in Christmas lights and some had floaties of characters on their front lawns. The blonde was going to have to call Eijirou to help him with putting up his own Christmas lights.
The hero was snapped out of his daze when he felt something soft hit the back of his head followed by a couple of giggles from behind him, making the taller male turn around and glare playfully at Izuku. The green haired male had another snowball in his hands, a playful grin on his face as he tilted his head at the blonde. “You wanna get your ass kicked, nerd?” The blonde asked with a laugh as he bent down to make his own snowball.
“You can try, Kacchan,” Izuku snorted with amusement, a challenge laced in his tone as he and the blonde circled each other. “I was the snowball champion in my high school back in America.” Katsuki rolled his eyes and threw the snowball, hitting the shorter male in the shoulder, making his childhood friend laugh and throw another one back. Dodging the ball, the hero laughed and quickly ran to a tree to hide behind, making another snowball to throw.
Katsuki peaked around the tree but quickly hid again when Izuku threw another snowball, the green haired male missing the blonde by a few inches, the snowball hitting the tree next to him. The explosion hero chuckled when he heard his childhood friend run across the yard, more giggles following the shorter male.
Noticing he had a quick chance, the older male quickly ran across the yard and threw the ball towards Izuku who easily dodged it, a grin on his face as he. stuck his tongue out at Katsuki. “Missed me, Kacchan,” the green haired male called out with a laugh before throwing another ball at the hero, hitting him in the leg. Bending down to make another snowball, the spikey haired male playfully glared at the shorter male as he ran to hide behind a different tree.
”Damn nerd,” Katsuki chuckled under his breath as he quietly moved towards where Izuku was hiding, his years of being a hero coming in hand as he made sure not to make a sound. He could hear the teacher snickering behind the tree, and the blonde took the chance to jump from behind the tree to scare the other.
His plan failed, because instead of hearing a yelp or scream from the green haired male, his face was met with a handful of snow. Izuku laughed and tried to run, but Katsuki was quicker, grabbing the shorter male’s wrist with his hand and shoving the snow in his hand down the other’s shirt. The sound of the teacher yelping from the freezing snow touching his back made the hero laugh again.
”Sorry, what was that about me fucking missing?” Katsuki asked with a snort as he watched with a grin as the shorter male turned to look at him with a giggle.
“That doesn’t count!” Izuku called out as he ran away from the blonde again, picking up another snowball that the hero dodged when it was thrown. Bending down to make another one, Katsuki carefully walked around the yard, making sure to catch any movement. He didn’t see where Izuku ran off too, so it was a game of hide and seek. He played it with Honoka all the time, so it should be fucking easy.
The blonde felt another snowball hit his head, and he turned to look at Izuku who was throwing a snowball up in the air before catching it, a grin on his face and his freckled cheeks and nose red from cold. Katsuki chuckled and ran towards the other male, arm up and ready to throw the snowball in his hand. The teacher gasped and tried to run away, but slipped with a yelp. The hero quickly dropped the ball and tried to grab the other male's hand but slipped and tumbled down with him.
Catching his breath, Katsuki pushed himself up from where it was laying on Izuku, opening his mouth to check on the male underneath him, but was stopped when the green haired male started laughing. The blonde watched, in curiosity or in awe he didn’t know, but he watched with wide eyes and red cheeks while Izuku laughed. The green haired male let out a final snort and opened his eyes, jade eyes meeting scarlet eyes.
”Told you I was the best snowball thrower in America,” Izuku teased with a small giggle, making Katsuki scoff with a roll of his eyes before getting up, bringing the green haired male with him.
“Yeah, and the clumsiest fucking nerd in the world,” the blonde mumbled under his breath with a small smile, nodding his head towards his house. “C’mon, let’s go warm up, we have a couple of minutes before dinner is ready.” Turning on his heel, the hero dragged Izuku into the house to warm up.
Both men took off their coats and shoes, putting them where they belonged, before Izuku let out a small huff as he looked down at his sweatshirt which was now wet after Katsuki had thrown snow down his back. The blonde clicked his tongue and poked the shorter male in the side. “Go shower nerd, you’re freezing,” the hero said as pointed past his shoulder towards the hall with his thumb. “And you can borrow my clothes.”
The explosion hero put his hand up when the teacher opened his mouth. “Don’t argue, dumbass, the bathroom is the third on the right. I’ll wash the clothes you’re wearing and bring you some new ones,” the blonde demanded softly, moving out of the way to let the shorter male walk past. Once he made sure Izuku had gone into the bathroom and he heard the shower running, Katsuki ran his fingers through his spikey hair and sighed, walking towards the kitchen to check on the green bean casserole.
