Chapter Text
The year was 2017. The local news was on. “Do you know this guy?” Your partner asked in disbelief. “He’s a total head case.”
You looked at the television. A man on the city council was being interviewed by reporter Beverly Hope. He had a mop of stringy blue hair pulled into a tight, greasy, man bun and a determined, stone-y, expression on his face.
“No.” You answered.
But at one point you had.
It was a few days before Halloween, late 2000-something. Winter Anderson, surprisingly, was throwing a party for the holiday. She stood in the kitchen, prepping, when the phone rang. She set the whisk down on the counter, answering the phone. “Hello?”
“Winter?” It was her socially awkward older brother, Kai. “Where’s Mom?”
“At the store, I think. What, do you need money again?”
“No.” Her brother scoffed. “What are you doing?”
“Making cupcakes.”
A chuckle arose from the other side of the line. “You? Making cupcakes? Why?”
“I’m throwing a party.” She answered. “It’s Halloween.”
“Ah, I see. I didn’t know you were the party kinda person.”
“Well, you know, thought it’d be fun.” Winter shrugged. “Y/N is making brownies, so it’ll probably be fun anyway.” She chuckled. A pan labeled “for losers” was likely to be present. “You have any plans?”
“Uh..nah.”
“You should come. But don’t be lame and not wear a costume.”
“Hmm…” Kai hummed, mulling it over. “Alright.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, I haven’t been home in a while.” That was totally not the reason. “But if you want me to dress up, you gotta give me an idea, Winter.”
His sister rolled her eyes. “Ugh. I always have to do stuff for you.” She brought her finger to her chin to think. “Well, I’m going as a witch…Y/N is going as a ladybug-“
“A ladybug?” He questioned humorously.
“Yeah. That’s cute, right? I thought it would be. She got these pretty iridescent wings, she’s gonna look so good.” Winter grinned excitedly.
“Yeah, I bet.” Kai said. “She’s good at making stuff work.”
“Ew, I can hear your drool dripping through the phone.” Winter gagged dramatically.
“What?”
“Kai, I’m inviting you because I don’t want my socially inept brother staying alone in his dorm room all night, not so you can ogle.”
“Winter, what the fuck?” Kai scoffed in disdain. “You’re making me sound like a creep. Maybe I wanna come down to see my sister.”
“Or you have nothing else to do.”
“That too.”
The night of Halloween, you and Winter were setting up for the party, playing music as you hung decorations that’d surely be on the floor by the end of the night anyway.
“I can’t believe I let you talk me into throwing a party.” Winter scoffed with a huge grin.
“Guess I’m just really persuasive.”
“Sure.” She replied with a playful eye roll. “Or maybe really persistent.”
You shrugged coyly, accidentally knocking a stack of solo cups over. “Shit.” You bent over to pick up your mess. “Fuckin’ cups.”
“You’re blaming the cups?” Winter chuckled.
Luckily you only knocked over a few and had easily stacked them again, holding it in your arms. “Yeah, they’re stupid and-“ You were cut off by a familiar face meeting yours. “Kai.” You gasped, the name nearly getting caught in your windpipe.
“Uh, hi.” He smiled at you anxiously. His awkwardness had always been endearing to you. No matter how long you had known him, he was always so uneasy at the start of conversations; it was like he just had to warm up.
Currently, it wasn’t really helping that he got a good flash of your ass when you bent down, but you must’ve been oblivious to that. Guess ladybugs wear teeny tutus.
After a moment of awkward staring at each other, you set the cups down, happily embracing him. “I didn’t know you were home!”
He grinned bashfully, shrugging, as he wrapped his arms around you. “It was a last minute decision…”
When you broke apart, that was his chance to fully take in your appearance. A black tutu and sheer tights, a shiny red tube top with black polka dots that connected to the tulle of your skirt. You wore shiny patent leather heels that gave you some significant height. Sparkly body glitter highlighted your chest in the best way.
Winter leaned up to reach her brother’s ear, whispering, “You’re staring.”
Kai’s eyes widened and you chuckled dismissively. “Nah, Win’, it’s cool. Kai’s just appreciating my festiveness, right, big guy?”
“Uh, yup!” Kai laughed awkwardly. “Real, eh, festive.” Thank fuck you covered his ass.
Winter furrowed her brows oddly. “…Right.”
“Oh, you gotta help us!” You ordered playfully, tugging his hand. “Your first mistake was coming downstairs, dude. Now you can’t hide.”
He rolled his eyes, but surrendered as you dragged him to help hang bat garland. You stood up on a chair to decorate the doorway, “Here,” You pointed. “Hand me that.”
Kai grabbed the spool of the festive decor from the counter and handed it to you.
“You take orders so well.” You teased, ruffling his hair, which you had easy access to at this height.
“Yeah…” He muttered in annoyance. He went to look up before being met with a clear shot up your skirt. He averted his eyes in fear you’d get the wrong idea, and instead chose to look at the decor that littered the room. “Where’d you get this stuff anyway?”
“I made it.” You replied as you taped a section to the wall.
“Really?” He questioned with underlying amazement in his tone. He looked down to the other roll of garland in his hands. “That’s really fucking cool.”
“Thanks.” You smiled down at him appreciatively. “So, why’d you come home?”
“Eh, I was bored.”
“You’re not missing some big party up there, Mr. Popular?”
“Are you making fun of me?” He scoffed, a prickle in his voice. “No.”
You sensed you actually got to him with that question. You didn’t exactly intend it to be rude. “Uh, alright. What do you think?”
“Of what?” He slightly snapped back.
“My costume.” You clarified, snapping your hips out to show off the tulle of your skirt. “Is it going in your spank bank?”
His eyes widened as he stuttered out a, “What?” It totally was. Not intentionally, but you already made him tick, and you were just so…Jesus, when did it get so fucking hot in here?
“Oh my god, your face is so red.” You snickered triumphantly as he froze, staring at the ground. “It totally is. Gonna go palm yourself later, you pervert?”
When he didn’t answer, you felt you’d overstepped a line. “Oh, wait, Kai, wait. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.” You told him sincerely, reaching a hand out to his shoulder.
“Yeah. That was bitchy.” He spat quietly. “But it’s fine…” He choked out, eyes still on the ground and his ears still hot.
It wasn’t, but you didn’t know the real reason why it wasn’t. You decided to change the subject. “Uhm…I like your sweater. It’s soft. You fill it out well.”
“Thanks.” He muttered awkwardly.
“Wait, your sweater…it kinda looks like a bee.”
His cheeks reddened. “Uh, yeah, Winter said I had to wear a costume, and this was what I could do with what was in my closet.” A lie, but you didn’t know that.
You hopped off the chair to be face to face with him. You cupped his cheek and tilted it toward you, inspecting him. “Yeah, this won’t work.” You noticed how clammy his skin was beneath your fingers. “Are you sick or are you always this sweaty?”
“W-what?”
“Never mind.” You shook your head dismissively. “Here, come with me.” You dragged him out to your car by the arm.
“What are we doing?”
“Getting stuff to make you look like you actually put effort into something.” You replied as you dug around in the trunk. You pulled out a box and shoved it in his hands. “Here.”
“What is all this crap?”
“It was in case there was any decoration disasters. There’s a bunch of craft junk in there.” You replied as you started your way back to the house. He followed you close behind. “I figure I can conjure up some antennas and maybe wings if you’re lucky.”
“Gee, that sounds super.” He dryly chuckled, a cocky sarcasm washing over him.
“I could get you some go-go boots if you’re gonna keep bitching, Anderson.” You snipped back. “You want that?”
“I’m alright.”
“There’s what I thought. Look, Kai, I’m gonna make you look like you’re not just Winter’s older brother looming around.” You stated flatly, getting to the point. You turned your head back to him, eyes meeting his. “If you want.”
He breathed out a flustered, “Uh…sure.”
You marched into the house and made your way to the stairs, Kai tailing you like you were an evil scientist and he was your little henchman.
“What are you two doing?” Winter asked as she sorted through the playlist for the party.
“Making Kai look like he belongs here.” You replied as you dragged him up the stairs.
Winter chortled, not bothering to even look up at you. “Good luck.”
“Fuck off, Winter.” Kai retorted lightheartedly as he got to the top of the stairs.
“Love you too, Kai!” Winter snarkily called back.
After demonstrating your crafting prowess by whipping up some wings and antennas, you grinned triumphantly.
“Aw, look, now you look like you actually planned this and didn’t just choose whatever was cleanest.” You teased. “You’re lucky I got here early.”
Kai clicked his tongue as you took the antennas from his head to put the finishing touches on. “I think you just like being a cocky little fuck.”
You gasped sarcastically. “Who, me? Never.” You cracked a small smile as you looked down to adjust the band in your hands.
Kai just looked at you with quiet admiration. God, he was so lame. You’d do this for anyone. It was nothing.
You placed the band back on his head, sweeping his hair so it was just so. “You look handsome, Kai.” You told him, cracking a smile. “Like a silly bee, but a handsome one.” You chuckled.
“Is that so, honey?” He retorted. God, he was so lame. So, so lame.
But you snickered. “Haha. I see what you did there, Casanova.” You said, jabbing him and rolling your eyes.
You stood up, brushing off your knees and fluffing out your skirt as Kai got off the floor. You two looked in the mirror and you goofily bobbed your head and made a face, making Kai chuckle.
Abruptly, you asked a question, “Do you think we could pass for a couple?” You tilted your head curiously as you continued looking in the mirror.
“Uh…” Yeah, a couple where the dude is probably rich or hung and that’s the only explanation as to why she’s with him. “Maybe.”
“Yeah, but I’d be taking you to the nursing home, gramps.” You giggled.
He rolled his eyes. “You’re, like, a year younger than me, don’t push it.”
You wrapped your arms around his lanky one next to you, nuzzling your cheek into the soft wool of his sweater. “Oh, you love it.” You purred, lips curling into a small grin. “It is kinda cute we’re matching, though. Fun coincidence.”
“Yeah. A total coincidence.” Not.
As soon as Winter said he needed a costume and told him what you were going as, the gears in his head started clicking. And thankfully, you were none the wiser. Still, he couldn’t get over the sparkly wings and that little tutu…
“Kai!” You said, taking him out of his own head.
“Hmm?” He hummed, continuing to peer into the mirror, not bothering to even glance at you.
“Are you high?” You questioned, raising a brow. “You’ve been really out of it tonight.”
“Would I really be high without telling you?”
“You’re right, ‘cause I would’ve kicked your ass if you didn’t share.” You threatened, lightly shoving him. “Sharing is caring.”
“Aw, you admit you care.” He smirked, batting his lashes at you jokingly.
“Oh, Kai, you’re so right.” You said in a serious tone, looking up to face him. “God, I think my car still has gas in it, we should go to the courthouse and get married right now!”
“Okay, fuck off.” He retorted bitterly, pushing your face away with a big hand.
“No, seriously!” You added, trying to irritate him further. “We should run away together! Come on, come on, you gotta kiss the bride!” You snickered uncontrollably. God, picking on him was the best.
“Alright, smartass.” He scoffed flatly, breaking apart from you. “Why don’t you fix your makeup?”
“What, am I not sexy enough?” You purred, putting your hands on your hips.
“Uh, no, I probably fucked it up with my stupid hands.” He explained, his cowardly tone softly returning.
“Aw, your strong, big, man-paws?” You teased and he frowned, so you sauntered over and took one of his hands in your own. “I like them. Don’t call them stupid, you jackass.”
“Thanks…I think?” He muttered, furrowing his brows and scrunching his lips, creating a look of confusion.
You giggled at him before pulling his hand to your face. “Look, your hands are huge!”
“Okay, they’re normal sized!” He scoffed, cheeks reddening slightly. “You’re just, like, small!”
You moved it from your face, then went to wrap it around your throat, “Look, you could choke me out so good-“
He harshly pulled away, cutting you off. “Okay! That’s enough!”
“I’m joking!” You exclaimed. “Watching you squirm is just so fun!”
“You’re not fucking funny, though.” He grunted with an eye roll. “You’re being more of a prick than usual.”
“Kai, I’m sorry, I was kidding.”
“Y/N, just get off my ass.” He grumbled cruely. Angrily. “You’re always picking at me.”
You frowned, being uncharacteristically sullen. “Okay…I’m sorry.” You said, almost in a whisper.
“You’re upset now?” He questioned abrasively, crossing his arms. “You rag on me all the time and I don’t go fucking crying.” He spat harshly.
“But you’re actually mad at me. I don’t want you actually mad.” You made a pouty face, your eyes puppy-like.
He hated to admit it, and probably he never would, but he liked when you were a little mean to him. It stoked the flames in his very core. The back and forth made him absolutely unfurl. But everyone has their limits.
Your apologetic face made him cave, though.
He sighed and motioned you over. “Come on, I think people are starting to show up.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Get over here before I change my mind.”
When you and Kai found your way to the punch bowl, you filled up a shiny red solo cup and handed it to him.
He brought it to his lips, but was put off by the sting of alcohol assaulting his nose. “Jesus, who made this punch?”
“Uh, Winter, I think.” You answered as you poured some of the red liquid into your cup.
“Yikes.” Kai replied with an exaggerated wince, but downed his spiked punch anyways.
The party was in full swing now. You had long lost track of Winter, not that you were particularly paying attention, though. You were too busy clinging on to Kai like gum to a shoe.
You and Kai were people-watching from the stairs. You slinked an arm around his lanky middle, the alcohol loosening you up a little. It must’ve had the same effect on him, because he didn’t react to it.
“So…” Kai took another gulp of his drink. “Are you sticking to me the whole night?”
“Oh, I-I can leave you alo-“
“No, no, it’s okay, I’m just wondering.”
“Oh, well, Winter’s hanging out with Scottie…and I don’t wanna intrude…”
“What, are they a thing now?”
You shrugged. “I don’t know. They’re “doing stuff” but that doesn’t mean they’re “together” I guess.”
“Ah, okay.” He muttered, shrugging. “What about you?”
“Huh?” You replied, not really thinking, opting to watch someone dressed as a zombie down two beers at once.
“Are you seeing anyone?” He asked with an underlying mix of curiosity and nerves.
“What, do you want me to give you a blowjob tonight, cowboy?” You questioned, smacking his ass.
“Totally.” He stated sarcastically, taking another sip of punch. “Right now.”
You looked at him for a beat before answering a nonchalant, “Alright.”
You turned on your heels, heading to his room as he antsily followed you in shock. “Y/N, I was joking!”
“I wasn’t.” You retorted as you both made your way into his room, with you locking the door. You pushed him back on his bed so he was sat down.
“Wait, wait, is this one of the joking-flirting things or are you serious?” He asked anxiously as you stood over him.
“What do you think?” You hummed as you sank to your knees, cupping your hands over his knees as you smirked up at him.
He suddenly grabbed your hands away, making you look up at him. “Y/N, I’m serious. I know you’re drunk right now-“
“I’m not drunk.” You interrupted, sternly correcting him, pointing a finger in his face. “A little tipsy, but not drunk. And you are too.”
“Yeah, bu-but, like-“
“I wanna, Kai.” You insisted, batting your lashes, pursing your lips into a seductive pout that had a twinge of condescension underneath it. “Let me suck that big dick of yours.”
Okay, maybe more than a twinge.
“Y/N, I swear to god, if you’re messing with me, I’m gonna kick your ass-“
“Really?” You pouted mockingly. “This ass-“
You went to reach down, about to tease even more, before Kai angrily opened his mouth again. “Y/N, tell me if you’re messing with me right now. I really like you, like, love you, and I know you think I’m, like, a pervert for that, but I can’t tell if you just do this to fuck with me or-“
Your eyes widened, taking you out of your persona. “What?” You looked at him, his face now bright red with shame. “What did you say?”
He just stared at you like a deer in the headlights, swallowing nervously.
“Kai, what the fuck did you say?” You sternly growled.
Jesus, you were intimidating.
“I, uhm…” He tilted his head away from your gaze. “Love you.” The room fell eerily silent. He abruptly stood up, clearly embarrassed as all hell. “I’m gonna-“
You pushed him back down. “No, stay.” He looked at you, on edge for your next move. “You…love me?”
He was somehow even more flustered now. “Yeah…and I know you probably think I’m, like, a weird fuckin-“
You promptly cut him off with your lips, stunning him for a moment before he kissed you back. You pulled back, his lips now having traces of your lipstick smeared on them. “Was that a “shut up” pity kiss or a-“
You smashed your lips back onto his in response before pulling away again. “It’s an “I love you too” kiss, you fuckin’ idiot.” You spat, sweeping a shaggy lock of his chestnut hair out of his face.
He looked you up and down in amazement, mouth agape. “…Really?”
“Yes.” You replied. “Kai, I’m not messing with you.”
“Oh my god.” He gasped, eyes widened. He was frozen in shock. There was no fucking way this was happening.
“Am I sucking your dick now?” You scoffed. He only stared at you in response. “Get on the bed.” You ordered, getting off your knees.
“What?”
“I said,” You leant your face down so you were a mere eyelash away from him. “Get on the bed.”
He nodded frantically and followed your orders, “O-okay.”
He laid back, being slightly propped up by his pillows and headboard as you kicked off your heels, tossing them to the corner of his room. You then settled yourself between his legs, sitting up on your knees. You reached a hand out to cup his face teasingly. “You wanna get laid tonight, Anderson?”
He furrowed his brows. “Do you wanna-“
“You wanna fuck me so good I’ll finally shut this pretty little mouth of mine?”
“Are you gonna keep running your mouth or are you gonna get to the point?” He snickered, his nerves, for once, dissipating in your presence.
You grinned and crawled onto his lap, leaning in to kiss him. This kiss was sloppier and needier than the ones before it.
Your hand reached down to fumble with his belt buckle, but he stopped you. “Here-“ He muttered against your lips. “Let me do it.”
He started undoing his belt as you gazed longingly, biting your lip in anticipation. As soon as the belt was off, you looped your thumbs in the belt loops of his pants, your fingers brushing the tender skin underneath his sweater. You looked up at him, “Is this okay?”
He nodded fervently. “Yes.”
You adjusted to unzip his fly and he nestled his face onto your neck. He pressed little kisses on your shoulder and you chuckled. “You can do more.”
The little kisses were replaced with hungry licks and bites as you yanked the waist of his pants down, the fabric gathering around his hips. “Can you take off your pants?” You whispered encouragingly and he nodded.
His hands rushed to pull them off, nearly jumping out of the pants, and chucking them away. He hastily sat back down and before he could worry about looking too desperate, you opened your mouth.
“Oh, look at that…” You purred wickedly as you stroked the damp fabric. “Someone’s already excited.”
“It’s your fault.” He muttered in frustration.
“I know.” You grinned in satisfaction. You gave him a quick smooch on the cheek before tugging down his boxers, letting him free. “Jesus, you’re hard.” You whispered absentmindedly.
“Yeah, I know!” He exclaimed in embarrassment. Frustrated embarrassment.
“Sorry. I wasn’t trying to piss you off. You got a good dick, Kai.” The head was an enticing shade of red, already leaking with precum. You stroked your thumb across the weeping slit and he whimpered at the contact. “See?” You said, wrapping your fingers around him, his dick hot in your hand. “Good dick.” You cooed with a teasing smile on your face.
He may not have been focused on the “good dick” comment in the moment, but he’d probably think about that a lot more after all was said and done.
You started with slow, tender strokes, wickedly taking your time. He thrust up into your hand impatiently and you snickered. “Use your words.” You instructed as you continued your strokes.
He rolled his eyes as he basically humped your hand. “Why are you-“ Grunt. “Like this?”
“Aw, like what?” You hummed, voice filled with snark. You knew exactly what he meant.
“You’re such a fuckin’-“ His breath hitched. “Dick.”
You let a glob of spit dribble down onto him and you sped up your pace, using the mix of spit and precum as lubricant. “You want me to suck your fuckin’ dick?” You mocked as you leant closer to the head of his cock, mouth tantalizing close to making contact while he growled in frustration.
You stuck your tongue out, feigning innocence as you lapped up some of the precum still dribbling out of him. As soon as he warmed up to that, you pulled away, earning a scowl from him.
But before he could grumble more, you abruptly took him into your mouth without another snarky comment, and the sound he made was just exhilarating. You hastily shifted your hips and he let out a small chuckle.
“You’re playing all tough but you’re j-just fuckin’ drooling, aren’t you?” He teased in condescension. Now he was the one being cocky.
You went to snap back, but obviously, it came out muffled and intelligible.
“Yo-you know, it’s kinda rude to talk with your mouth full.” Oh, you liked this side of him.
You hummed in annoyance around him, pulling a groan from him. He reached out to grab something, but opted to grip the sheets.
You pulled off of him, a wet sound and a whimper of protest from him following as your lips separated from the flesh. “You can pull my hair, Kai.” You purred, looking up to him. “I’m not made of porcelain.”
“I…don’t wanna ruin your-“
“No, you don’t wanna get caught. We’re way past the point of stuff getting ruined.” You stated, referring to your makeup, which was true, as traces of your lipstick was remnant on his lips and left as a vibrant ring on his cock.
“Let go.” You ordered. “You can be rough with me.” You smirked at him with seductive eyes and he quickly and harshly gripped your hair. You smiled slyly. “Good boy.”
He was about to complain again before you swiftly engulfed him into your mouth again. He let out a squeak of relief as you went to work, jerking what didn’t fit in your mouth with your hand. The little sounds he emitted made you somehow even more aroused. The closer you got to unraveling him, the rougher he got with the pulling of your hair.
Just when you felt like he was about to fall apart, he abruptly yanked you off him by the hair, a sloppy string of a mix of drool and his fluids connecting his dick and your bottom lip, which jutted out in confusion. “What the fuck?” You pouted. “You were just about to cum.”
He thought you looked so pretty, even with your makeup all smeared, lips pouty and drool-y, and hair a mess from his deadly grip.
“I-I don’t wanna cum yet.” He blurted awkwardly.
You furrowed your eyebrows, still totally confused. “Why?” You looked at him for a moment before your brows shot up knowingly. “Ahh.” You hummed with a snide grin.
You rose off the bed and stood over him. “You wanna fuck me?” You cooed, bringing your pointer finger to your lips. “You want me?”
“I-I thought we were gonna do that.” He stuttered anxiously. “We don’t have to do any-“
You stuck a finger to his lips. “Shh.” You then bent over, putting your ass on full display for him. “You wanna fuck this little pussy? You want me? Prove it.” He reached out, but you swatted the hand away. “Uh-uh.”
He pulled back and scoffed. “God, you’re a tease.”
“Oh, you love it.” You purred snarkily. “And I know something else you’ll love.” You reached down and pulled off your pantyhose and underwear tantalizingly slow. Messing with him was just so oh-so fun.
They pooled around your ankles and you brought a hand to spank the bare fat of your ass. “How’s this?” You asked coyly, feigning innocence.
“Fucking perfect.” Kai gasped out. If he had less self control, he’d be fucking drooling right now.
The way he said it was perfect with no hesitation shot right to your eager core. You stuffed two fingers into your cunt, watching every little move Kai made. What’s the harm in putting on a little show?
“Holy shit.” He mumbled and you swore you could see him somehow get harder from the view over your shoulder.
You dragged the fingers out slowly, letting him see just how easily coated they got in your slick arousal. You smirked and stepped over, pressing your fingers to his lips. He, surprising both you and himself, opened his mouth and kitten-licked them before his tongue swirled around them.
You stared needily at him. “Holy fuck, that was so hot. I need you inside me.” You bit down on your lip as you bent back down to step out of your undergarments.
You held the clothes in your hands as you stood back up. “Do you wanna keep these?” You asked coyly. “Something to keep you company while you’re away?” As you spoke, you made your way back over to him, hoisting a leg to his side, you were lined up with his crotch. “Would you like that, baby?”
Before you could get another word out, he suddenly grabbed you, pulling you onto him as your lips collided, his back falling into the mattress. He feverishly kissed along your collarbone, breathing out, “Stop that,” as he peppered kisses on the flesh.
“Stop what?” You mewled, carding your fingers through his hair.
“Teasing.”
“Oh, but it’s so fun.”
He looked at you and pulled off, his attempt at giving you a taste of your own medicine. Not as spineless in this as you presumed. The way it surprised you was really attractive.
“You’re that desperate?” You whispered condescendingly. You still couldn’t help being a little snarky.
His brows knit together in a mix of annoyance and a twinge of guilt. He glanced away from you awkwardly and you felt a ping of remorse.
“Sorry. I’ll stop teasing.” You mumbled and he relaxed under you.
You reached under the fuzzy sweater to thumb his nipples, his breath getting caught in his throat. “Off.” You said, sticking out your bottom lip. He nodded quickly and yanked the sweater off, throwing it somewhere he’d find it later.
You inspected his chest, now revealed to you. It was slightly toned, he could probably be ripped if he wanted to, but you adored him how he was. The skin was soft and mostly bare, the only prominent bit of hair appearing in the form of a faint happy trail, which made you feel all warm and oozy inside.
You caressed the soft skin and gazed at him warmly. “You’re so pretty, Kai.” You cooed, your thumb rubbing little circles on his pectoral.
“Are you making fun of me?” He whispered, irritation apparent on his face.
“No.” You told him sincerely, looking into his eyes. Your lack of snide comments told him you were being completely truthful.
“Thanks.” He replied softly. He reached a hand up to feather it in your hair. “Uh, you’re pretty too.”
He was terrible at compliments, but he was trying so hard.
“Thanks.” You whispered back. You just wanted to soak in the moment. You admired every little freckle of his features, caressing the skin with your thumbs.
But then, you couldn’t take it anymore.
You licked a stripe up his neck, pulling closer to him.
“God, you’re freaky.”
“You don’t like it?” You questioned honestly.
“Hell no. I love it.” He grinned at you, chuckles bubbling in his throat.
You sat in his lap, the two of you smushed together just so. You pulled down your top, freeing your breasts from their confinement. Kai’s eyes latched onto them, a “Holy shit” falling from his lips. He couldn’t believe this was happening.
You bounced your chest to be closer to his face. He glanced up into your eyes with those big, brown, doe eyes of his. “Ka-“ You were cut off by the fantastic sensation of his mouth around one of your nipples. Precisely what you were silently asking for. He twirled his tongue around before he reached a hand up to give attention to your other breast.
“Ohhhh.” You gasped. “You’re good at that.” Your fingers once again tangled in his hair. With every sensual suck, the burning desire between your legs grew more and more fiery.
After a while, you basically had to pry yourself away as he nipped and licked, “Kai, mm, hold on, baby.” You dragged away from him to get completely bare, chucking the fabric as you had with everything else.
“Okay…” You settled yourself and looked at him. “Kai, this is the last time I’ll say this, okay?” You asked, cupping his face, and he nodded. “I want you to touch me. I want you to have your way with me.” You ordered, eyes locked onto his. “I will let you know if you go too far.”
That was when the switch flipped.
He repositioned you so he was on top, hovering over you. “There’s my guy.” You cooed with satisfaction, a snide grin appearing on your face.
“It’s a real party, isn’t it?” He scoffed.
“You gonna fuck me, Anderson?” You taunted. “You wanna stick your dick in me?” You reached a hand down, “Do you need directions-“
He cut you off by grabbing your hand by the wrist, totally fed up with this sexual frustration. “I’m gonna shut you up.” He growled lowly, face close to yours. “That’s what you wanted, right?” You silently nodded, caught off guard by his fowardness.
Him finding his voice, ordering you around, made you even more turned on. As you were eagerly fantasizing about how the current situation would play out, Kai was sliding a condom on and positioning himself over you. “Is this okay?”
“Yes.” You nodded excitedly. “Holy shit, yes.”
He slowly slid into you, holding your hand as you adjusted, which you loved. He was such a caring little dork.
“Oh,” He grunted, almost sounding like a pleasureful choke. “God, you feel so good.” So, so warm.
He didn’t move, waiting for you to adjust to him. He breathily muttered against your shoulder, “You got it, you’re doing good.” Did he even realize how attentive he was being?
Once you were both situated, you tapped his shoulder. “You can go now.”
“Okay. Alright.” He shook his head like he had to psych himself up. But then he started, slow and steady at first, which grew into him pounding into you with reckless abandon as you whimpered underneath him.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” You whined, gripping hard onto the sheets. “Where the fuck was this guy hiding?”
You waited for an answer, but suddenly, he let out a pained hiss and you quickly sat up. “Oh! Kai, Kai, stop.”
He pulled out and looked at you fearfully. “Shit, I’m sorry.”
You sat up on your knees and grabbed his hands. “No, no! You didn’t hurt me, it…you let out a weird noise..are you hurt?”
He sighed ashamedly. “No…I got a cramp.” He admitted awkwardly, glancing at his sheets. “It’s fine. Sorry.”
“Oh.” You murmured. You then giggled and kissed his forehead. “Do you wanna try something different?”
He bit his lip hesitantly and made a dismissive grunt.
“Kai…” You said slowly. “What do you want me to do? You can tell me what you want.” You assured him. “I want you to have fun too.”
You so effortlessly made him feel so comfortable, especially when you were being nice like this.
“I…” He took a breath. “I want you to bend over.”
You nodded kindly and cupped his cheek. “See? I can do that.” You kissed his cheek. “But I have a request.”
He nodded suspiciously and slowly.
“Can you bend me over the desk?” You purred softly, wrapping a lock of his hazelnut hair around your finger.
His eyes widened. “Yeah. Yeah.” He nodded and threw the box of forgotten craft supplies onto his bed, shoving the clutter to make room.
You sauntered over to the desk and slowly bent over, looking at him over your shoulder. The look gave him the go-ahead. A silent consent.
He walked over and brushed his hot cock against you, smearing the tip against your clit before he sheathed himself inside you once again. He started his thrusts with a more in tune rhythm than before.
But it wasn’t enough.
“C-can Winter hear us?” You asked with some concern.
“No-, I-I don’t think so.” He groaned breathily. “The music downstairs is still really loud.”
“Go harder.”
“I don’t wanna hurt y-“
“Go harder.” You ordered firmly and he hesitated briefly before following your instructions. He gripped your hips as he pounded into you. Maybe, probably, they’d leave bruises. You reached back to grab his hand, moving it to your ass.
He responsively gave the flesh a swat. Exactly what you wanted. You grinned happily and moaned. “O-oh, yes.”
Now he was getting it.
Both of your hands were on the table; they looked so dainty next to his, and you wrapped a pinky over his thumb, signaling a yes, yes, yes.
You could hear his shaky breaths from behind you, and they sent shivers right to your very core. “Oh, oh, fuck..” You hissed in pleasure.
“You’ve got a mouth on you.” He muttered in a low growl before smacking your ass again, eliciting a moan from you.
“You love it.” You snarked back, riling him up even more.
“Do I?” He asked in a grunt, another thwack to the fat of your ass. “I don’t know if I like your behavior.”
“My behavior?” You smirked, the word making you involuntarily clench around him. You reached a hand behind to brush up against his torso.
He hummed an, “Mm-hmm,” with another smack. Then, he bent over so your back was flush against his chest and his face was up by your neck.
With a few more humps, your legs were shaking, and he must’ve noticed because he wrapped his arms around your middle and repositioned you once again, putting you back on the bed. You were on your back and he had a loose grip on your thigh. “You wanna spread your legs for me?”
You nodded eagerly as you complied, eyes excitedly flickering up at him as he hovered over you again, pushing himself back into you, drawing a moan from you as he did so.
He swung your legs over his shoulders, fucking himself in further. Giving him power was fun.
The tightly wound knot began threatening to unfurl as he drilled into you so skillfully. You could tell he was getting closer too, as his groans had morphed into ragged, growling breaths.
“K-Kai-“ You moaned, clawing at his back.
“Mm, mm-hmm?”
“I’m gonna cum!” You whined urgently.
“Shit, me-, fuck, me too!” He broke apart with a groan and you followed not long after, shivering as your orgasm took hold of you.
You were so dazed that you barely noticed him moving to pull out as you recovered from your bout of euphoria.
What knocked you back to reality was him lazily kissing up your body as you laid contently, a hand reaching down to interlace itself with his soft hair. “How long have you been wanting to do that?”
He didn’t answer, opting to continue loving on your skin.
“Kai.” You said, trying to grab his attention, which worked.
He brought his face up to yours and answered simply: “A while.” He then softly and gently connected your mouths and you happily reciprocated, grinning against his lips.
When you broke apart, he got up and went to a corner of his room while you glanced at his alarm clock. “Holy shit, we fucked for like, two hours.” You giggled as he walked back over with his sweater after putting his boxers on.
“And the music is still blaring.” He retorted in the same tone a bitter old man would as he flopped down next to you.
“Yeah…” You hummed contently, leaning over to peck him before slipping on the fuzzy sweater and reaching over to slide your underwear back on.
“What do we tell Winter?” He asked as you nuzzled into him.
“Nothing.” You replied. “Tell her I got drunk and passed out in your bed. I was gonna sleep over anyway.”
“But that’s gonna look suspicious-“
You pressed a finger to his lips. “You worry too much. Just hold me,” You looked up at him with pleading eyes. “Please?”
He seceded, wrapping his warm arms around your middle and pocketing his chin onto your shoulder. You reached a hand up to tug at his hair. “You know, I really do miss you.” You muttered with a twinge of rare, sincere sadness.
“Really?” He asked, dumbfounded. “Half of the time I thought you hated me.”
“Only when you’re being a little weirdo.” You chuckled honestly. “But I like when you’re weird, so I guess that doesn’t really mean anything.” You shrugged dismissively. “And I know I teased you earlier, but sometimes I think about you and…I miss you too.”
“What?” He mumbled, confused. It then hit him squarely in the face. “Y…you touch yourself?”
You laughed in response before nodding. Your laugh told him how stupid you felt telling him that, but he didn’t care. You felt comfortable enough to tell him that and he adored that. “Oh, uh, you don’t have to say anythi-“
“I jerk off thinking about you too.” He blurted, then immediately regretted his decision. “Shit, that’s so weird, I’m so-“
You slapped a hand over his mouth. “Kai, I just told you I jerk it thinking about you. You’re not any weirder, you nerd.” You told him. “And we just fucked. And it was good sex too.”
“Really?”
You scoffed in disbelief. “Are you fucking serious? Me moaning and shivering wasn’t enough?”
Kai stayed silent and shrugged. Jeez, his self-confidence must be really low.
You turned to kiss his cheek. “Well, it was good. At least for me…what about you..?”
“Fucking fantastic.” He replied bluntly. He meant that.
“Exactly.” You replied before mumbling, “Uhm, by the way…I meant what I said…”
“You like when I’m weird?” He questioned.
“No…I…I love you. I didn’t say it just to bounce on some dick tonight…that was just a lucky coincidence.” You giggled slightly, but you meant it earnestly.
“I love you.” He replied, still saying it like he was insane for admitting it to you; like you’d never reciprocate it.
Kai woke up before you did, and you could only tell because when you fluttered your eyes open he was typing on his laptop next to you, clearly trying to be as quiet as possible to not disturb you. One hand was typing, the other was absentmindedly petting your hair.
You slowly rose up, body a little sore all over as memories of the night rushing back to you. “Fuck, my head hurts.” You grumbled while you curled into him. He was on some junky forum, but you were too focused on your headache.
“I’ve got painkillers in my nightstand.” He offered, pointing to the side of the bed you were on with his thumb.
You reached up, the sheets falling around your hips, which unfortunately made Kai realize how rough he had been with you. You gulped down a pill and snuggled back into him contently.
He stiffly shut his laptop and put it aside. “I’m sorry.” He mumbled ashamedly.
“What?” You questioned groggily, brows furrowed. “Kai, what are you talking about?”
“For last night, I was r-“
You quickly shut him up, sticking a finger to his lips with a “Shush.” You looked at him earnestly. “Kai, it was great. You didn’t do anything I didn’t want. I liked you being all rough.” You grinned dazily at him. “Do…do you regret last night?”
“No, not at all!” He assured you, interlacing his hand with yours. “But…I saw…I, like, bruised you.”
You curiously looked down at your hips, pulling the sweater up to get a better look at the raspberry and lavender colored blotches in the shape of Kai’s fingers. You unknowingly grew a giddy little grin.
“That…is really hot.” You murmured, oddly into it. “I mean…you wanna make it up to me?” You giggled at him before smooching him happily. He smooched back, his fingers getting tangled in your hair.
You could tell had to drag himself away from you, “You should probably get dressed so Winter doesn’t think anything.”
“You really care what Winter thinks, huh?” You asked with a giggle, standing from his bed.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Nothing.” You shrugged as you looked around his room. “I just love how much you care about her.” You explained in truth. “Hey, do you have some pants I could borrow? I could put my ladybug costume back on, but that’s not much different from me in my underwear anyways, huh?”
He snickered at your unseriousness. You just made him so comfortable. “I wouldn’t complain. But I think your costume has a little more coverage than that.”
“Close enough.”
“I mean, you’re already wearing my sweater, I don’t care, take what you want.“
“I knew I tolerated you for a reason.” You chuckled before going over to his closet.
“Tolerate? People who “tolerate” each other do that?” He teased as you grabbed a pair of flannel pants.
“What people are you talking to?” You snickered back, pulling the loose pants over your legs. “They must hate you.”
You hopped down the stairs and made your way to the kitchen. Winter was already sitting at the table, her eyes lighting up when you came into view.
“Hey! How’s your head?” Winter asked. “Kai said you crashed out pretty hard in his bed.”
“It’s alright.” You shrugged as you searched the cabinets for cereal. “He let me borrow his sweater and shit, ‘cause I left my clothes in the car.”
“Ew, sorry.” Winter chortled. “You could’ve taken something of mine. Not have to wear his musky junk.”
You shrugged again. “It’s fine, his clothes are comfy. And I don’t think he wanted to root through your clothes.”
“Well, he could’ve asked me.” She countered. “I wouldn’t care.”
“Well, I don’t know when I fell asleep, but I woke up at, like, three in the morning and I guess I woke him up, so he gave me clothes.” That was one convoluted lie.
Before Winter could question it, Kai came into the kitchen, heading to the coffee pot. “Hey! Look, it’s Kai!” You exclaimed, trying to get the heat off your ass.
“Hey, Mr. Busy Bee.” Winter chortled as her brother sat down at the table. “Nice costume last night.”
“Thanks.” He replied groggily, sipping from his mug. “Y/N helped me.”
“Yeah, I could tell.” Winter replied. “You’ve got some glitter on your face.”
Kai reached a hand up to wipe it off as his face reddened slightly, as well as yours.
You weren’t exactly planning on spending the whole weekend at the Andersons’, but one thing led to another, and it was suddenly Sunday, and Kai was packing.
“I don’t want you to leave.” You muttered into his chest.
“But I have to.” He replied softly, petting your hair before he pulled away to continue folding laundry. “You can visit or call whenever you want. And I’ll be home in, like, three weeks for Thanksgiving.”
“But that’s so long.” You pouted exaggeratedly.
“Where the fuck is needy Y/N coming from?” Kai chuckled as he packed up a sweater.
“Wherever bold Kai came from.” You snipped back. “God forbid I’ll miss my-“ You cut yourself off.
“Miss your what?” He questioned curiously.
“Nothing.” You replied quickly. You were the flustered one now.
“No, no, you said something.” He scolded. “What was it?”
“No, you’re gonna make fun of me.” You muttered dismissively.
He showed you grace. He knew what you meant, he just wanted to hear you say it. “Look, if it will make you feel better, do you want me to call you my girlfriend for the sake of brevity?”
You looked at him like he just dropped a bombshell. “R-really?”
“Yeah.” He shrugged with a grin as he strolled over to you. He swiped the hair out of your face with his thumb. “I love my girlfriend.” He purred sweetly, his doe-like eyes making you feel comfort with ease. “And I think my girlfriend will miss her boyfriend while he’s at college.”
“Your girlfriend will miss her boyfriend while he’s at college.” You hummed contently, wrapping your arms around him. “She loves her boyfriend.”

Chapter Text
It was mid-December. You and Kai had managed to keep the whole thing under wraps, somehow. You almost got caught when he was home for Thanksgiving, though.
You were baking pie with Winter because she had been forced, (she volunteered), to be on dessert duty. “Win’, you’ve got some flour on your face.” You chuckled as you slid the pie into the oven.
“Oh, shit.” Winter rubbed her face and you shook your head to tell her that she didn’t get it. “Hang on, I’m gonna head to the bathroom.”
You nodded as you removed the oven mitts and continued to clean up the kitchen, turning to the counter. Then you felt big hands on your hips, making you jump. You whipped around, and it was Kai, obviously. “Jesus, don’t do that.”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” Kai replied, raising his hands defensively.
“That’s the biggest lie I’ve ever heard.” You snipped back with a curt grin.
“Eh.” He shrugged and looked around the kitchen. “You guys made a huge mess.”
“Oh, really? Did we?” You cocked back as you rinsed off the whisk. “I didn’t see Mr. Busy Bee rushing to help clean, though.”
“You just have to ask.” He retorted as he inched closer.
“Well, I would’ve if someone wasn’t on his computer.” You remarked, getting your face close to his and sticking out your tongue.
“And who would that someone be?” He asked with a knowing smirk. He loved hearing that nine letter word.
“My boyf-“
And that was when Winter came back.
“What the fuck are you two doing?”
“Showing Kai what hard work looks like.” You answered swiftly, turning back to the sink.
“No, she’s trying to get me to clean up your guys’ mess.” He shot back.
“Aw, poor baby.” Winter fake pouted, a dramatic frown pulling at her lips. “She’s right, though. You should.”
“I didn’t make the mess, though.” He scoffed, crossing his arms.
You looked up at him with sweet puppy eyes. “Please?” You jut your lip out for further effect.
He rolled his eyes. “Fine.”
But it was winter break now, and Kai and Vincent would be home for a month. You were helping Kai bring in the junk from his car as the cold Michigan air nipped at your nose.
“Oh, Y/N, you don’t have to help carry Kai’s stuff, he can get it himself.” Julie insisted kindly from the doorway.
You looked to Kai. “Well, you heard her, big guy. Hop to it.” You told him, patting his arm. He rolled his eyes and you chuckled. “Nah, I’m kidding. I don’t mind. Then it’ll get done quicker.”
“Yeah, you better not be snooping, though.” Kai warned, walking through the front door and setting the box in his hands on the table.
“Aw, you get me a gift, cutie?” You teased, a snide smile tugging at your face. Luckily, you said shit like that to Kai already, long before your mouths got to know each other so personally, so Winter was none the wiser.
Though, maybe he should have been a little cockier. “Maybe.” He replied cheekily, his face scrunching into a silly grin.
“Well, maybe I got you something.” You chuckled as you set the box in your hands next to his.
Winter scoffed, arms crossed. “Are you done being Saint Y/N and helping Kai with his shit so we can hang out?”
“Winter!” Julie scolded and her daughter rolled her eyes.
“You got it, Kai?” You asked sincerely.
“Yeah, I just gotta lock up my car. I can handle unpacking.” He assured you before leaning down closer. “Go hang out with Winter. I’m good.” He whispered gently.
“Okay.” You nodded. “Don’t freeze your balls off!” You called as you and Winter scampered up the stairs.
“Wouldn’t dream of it!” Kai called back before he saw his mother‘s face. “What?” He asked, the smile on his face slowly fading.
“You’re real sweet on her.” Julie gushed happily and Kai could feel his ears get hot. “I think you like her.”
He didn’t know how to answer, so he blurted out a flustered, “I gotta go lock my car…” He jogged out to the driveway with his hands in his pockets and face towards the floor.
You and Winter sat on her bedroom floor as she painted your nails a shiny shade of sapphire blue. “You know you don’t have to do that.” Winter told you with a final swipe of polish to your pinky.
“Hmm? Do what?” You asked inspecting the pretty shimmer of the polish on your fingers.
“Help Kai. I know you, like, have this “I gotta help everyone” complex, but…”
“I so do not.” You scoffed. You so did. But technically, this was different, because this was your boyfriend, though Winter didn’t know that. “I just didn’t wanna hear him bitch about it later.”
“Sure.” Winter chuckled. “I don’t think that’ll stop him though.”
You shrugged dismissively. “Eh, oh well.” You blew on your nails to ensure the polish was dry before you spoke, “Win’, I’m gonna head to the bathroom.” You said, rising off the ground.
“Don’t get lost.” She joked dryly and you nodded.
You didn’t, obviously, but on your way back to Winter’s room, you noticed Kai’s door was open, so what was the harm in peeking in?
You knocked on the doorframe and he perked his head up. “Hey, you finish unpacking?”
He strolled over and nodded. “Yep. Don’t worry about it, seriously.”
“I’m not.” You chuckled softly as you made your way further into the room. “I know you can handle yourself.”
“Yeah. Winter happy you stopped making goo-goo eyes at me?”
“I do not do that! I’ve had to keep it a secret harder than you have and I’ve been damn good at it.” You crossed your arms cockily, a smug smirk painted on your face.
“Right.” He remarked with a chuckle.
“No, really. I’ve gotta see people every day, but if they’re suspicious of you, you can just hang up the phone.” You remarked sternly.
“Yeah, I know, I know.”
“I kinda don’t want this to be a secret anymore…” You mumbled as he cupped your cheek.
“I know. I’m just…trying to figure out how to tell Winter. I don’t wanna upset her.” He admitted sincerely. “I don’t want her pissed at you.”
“I know and I appreciate that.” You nodded, understanding where he was coming from.
You knew he’d never want to hurt her.
“Anyways…Winter painted my nails.” You grinned, holding your hands up and wiggling your fingers to show them off.
He grabbed one hand and held it to inspect the paint job. “Nice. I like the blue.”
“Yeah, she wanted to try a new polish she got, ‘cause her nails are already done.” You explained with a sweet smile on your face. “Your hands are warm.”
“Or are yours cold?” He cocked back lightheartedly.
“Two things can be true at once.” You shrugged. “Either way, I’m so happy you’re gonna be home for, like, a month.” You cooed, holding his face close to yours.
“Me too.” He replied happily before closing the gap between you.
“Oh, oh, no fucking way. No fucking way.” Winter hissed, you and Kai quickly separating as soon as Winter’s voice rang through the room. “What the hell?”
“Shit, Winter-“ You went to explain but she instead honed in on her brother.
“What the fuck, guys?” She seethed. She was clearly more furious at her brother, though, because as the words spilled from her mouth, her eyes were glued to him.
“Winter, calm down-“ Kai put his hands up, trying his best to be the reasonable one for once.
“Don’t you tell me to calm down.” She spat angrily. She was clearly convinced that this situation had nefarious intentions, particularly on Kai’s part. “I just caught you sucking face with my best friend. Is this just to fuck with me?”
“Winter-, Winter, it’s not like that.” You assured her anxiously. “I promise it’s not-“
“So what the fuck is going on here?”
The tense moment was interrupted by Mrs. Anderson calling up the stairs. “Kids, Vincent’s home!”
The three of you trampled down the stairs to greet Vincent, the tension still lingering.
“Hey, guys.” Vincent greeted with a warm grin that contrasted with his clearly chilly nose and cheeks. He hugged his siblings, first Kai, then Winter, before looking at you. “Oh, Y/N’s here, too.” The way he said it wasn’t an insult, more an observation; he wasn’t surprised. “How’s it going?”
“Alright.” You shrugged. “How’s college?”
“It’s college.” He replied with a slight chuckle as he stripped off his winter coat.
“Here, kids,” Mrs. Anderson said as she took Vincent’s coat to hang on the rack. “I made lunch.”
Through “thank you”’s and appreciative mumblings, you all made your way to the kitchen table.
“Well, it’s so nice to have all of you kids under one roof for a while.” Mrs. Anderson gushed. She truly adored her children.
“Yeah.” Winter growled. “It’s peachy.” She said sarcastically.
“Winter, is something wrong?”
“No. My stomach is queasy. Saw something gross.” She spat bitterly.
“Do you want me to get y-“
“No. I’m fine.”
“Well…” Julie decided to focus on something else, picking up on Winter’s disdain. “Y/N, it’s so nice of you to be here with us. I hope Kai was appreciative of your help.”
You were about to open your mouth when Winter shot out of her seat. “I’m going up to my room.” She growled before turning on her heels and stomping up the stairs.
You and Kai looked at each other nervously. You began to get up from your chair, “I’ll g-“
Kai sat you back down. “No. You stay. I can talk to her.”
You nodded and he left to speak with his sister. Vincent had a puzzled look on his face. “What was that about?”
You tapped your foot nervously. Were you really about to fold under zero pressure?
Surprisingly, no.
“Uh, I don’t know…do you want help clearing the table, Mrs. Anderson?”
“Winter?” Kai knocked at his sister’s door. “Can I come in?”
“Go away.”
“Winter…”
“…Fine.”
Kai cracked the door open and slunk in before closing the door behind him. He sat on her bed silently for a moment before he hesitantly opened his mouth. “Winter, you can’t be mad at me-“
“Yes, I can.” She grunted back. “Kai, you were kissing my friend.”
“Winter, you don’t…that’s not…” He had to say this just right. Genuinely upsetting his sister made him feel terrible. He reached a pinky out and she wrapped hers around it.
“Flesh to flesh.” Winter murmured darkly. “I’ll know if you lie to me.” She was serious about this.
“I know. I just…we weren’t kissing to upset you.” He tried to look as genuine as he could, tried to convey his sincerity.
“What, are you fucking too?” Winter growled harshly.
Kai could feel his face heat up and stayed quiet, trying to gather the courage to verbally admit the truth.
“Oh my fucking GOD!” Winter exclaimed, infuriated. “You can’t keep it to yourself? You just had to go for-“
“Winter, no!” Kai said, raising his voice in frustration. Something he rarely did with her. “Winter, we’re like…dating.” He admitted nervously, averting his gaze from hers.
“What?” Her pinky fell slack as she gasped in a tone that he couldn’t quite identify. Disgust? Hope? He’d never quite know.
Coincidentally, that was the moment you cracked open the door. “Hey.” You coughed out awkwardly.
“You’re dating him?” Winter asked in blatant disbelief. The way she asked almost felt like an insult to Kai.
“Uh…yes?” You answered slowly, a tone of confusion present in your voice.
Your answer only surprised Winter further. You didn’t wait for Kai to tell you what to say, which probably would’ve happened if this was a joke.
Winter’s fine beige eyebrows knit further together. “Why? H-how?!”
You reluctantly stepped further into the room as you replied. “Uhm…I-I love him?”
“Huh?” She felt awful that she thought that way, but having someone be “into” her brother like that was something she thought was unbelievable.
Then there was loud knocking at the door. Winter groaned and opened it in annoyance, revealing Vincent.
“Guys, what the fuck is going on up here?” Vincent asked through gritted teeth. “Mom just asked me to make sure you three weren’t smoking pot again.”
“We’re not smoking pot, Vince.” Winter scoffed. “These two are dating.” She told him, motioning to you and Kai with her hand.
Vincent raised one of his oaky eyebrows. “So?”
Kai’s brows furrowed. “What do you mean “so”?”
“I mean, it wasn’t exactly a secret. The only other girl you hang out with that much is Mom or Winter.” Vincent explained matter-of-factly. “It’s kinda cute. I’d say since maybe summer?”
“Halloween, actually.” You corrected.
“Halloween?!” Winter exclaimed, turning her head to look at you. “You’ve kept this from me since Halloween?” She was hurt by that fact.
Vincent could definitely tell. “Kai, why don’t we go help Mom in the kitchen?” Vincent asked.
But Kai didn’t get what he was asking. “But I-“
“Why don’t we go help Mom in the kitchen?” Vincent insisted through gritted teeth. Kai slowly nodded and left the room with his brother.
Winter still had a venomous scowl on her face, her brows knit together sourly.
“Winter, having sex with him wasn’t some drunken mistake, okay?” You insisted genuinely. She probably hated you for it. “We weren’t drunk…we didn’t intend for this to be a big secret…”
“But that’s how it happened.” She snapped back.
“Winter, I promise, I never meant to hurt you.” You insisted empathetically.
“Y/N, if you wanted to fuck someone that bad, WHY would you choose him?” Winter asked coldly. “There were so many more people at that party.”
“Winter, you think I scanned the room and picked at random who I wanted to hook up with?” You asked, feeling a sting at the accusation. “Winter, I fucked your brother because I wanted to. I, like, had a thing for him for a while and it turned out he felt the same.” You explained bluntly. “It…it just happened. But I shouldn’t have kept it from you.”
Quiet tension was thick in the room for a few minutes, you nervously chewing your lip as you waited for her to say something. Anything.
“So, since when?” Winter bitterly questioned. “When did you start “liking” him?” She asked with a gag.
You sighed with a small bit of relief. At least she was listening now.
“Uhm…I don’t really know. It hadn’t really sunk in until…” You sunk to your knees, trying to suck his dick? “That night.”
You thought back. “Maybe that time he picked us up in a tank top and I made a stupid comment about his “guns” and he actually laughed. Or when you wrecked your knee and you insisted you didn’t need help but he wouldn’t take no for an answer. Or how he didn’t really bitch and moan after we’d ask him to take us somewhere when he first got his license. Or how he would talk to me about my CD binder when I brought it over. Maybe how he never really made me feel like-“
As you rambled, Winter came to a realization. “Holy shit, you really love him.”
“Yeah…” You awkwardly chuckled before looking at her straight on. “Winter, I’m not messing with you.”
“And what about him? You know how, like, strange he is.”
“Yeah, I know…” You fiddled with your hands anxiously. “Are you okay with this?”
“Well, I’d kinda be an asshole to try and control who either of you dated.” Winter softly chuckled, looking at the ground. “But I’m okay with it as long as we’re still cool.”
“Oh, totally.” You assured her, nodding your head repeatedly. “You’re, like, the coolest ever, man!”
“Good.” She replied before engulfing you in an embrace. “But the second he fucks up, I’m kicking his ass.”
“Noted.”
You had been hanging around the Anderson house since then, which was nothing out of the ordinary, but now it felt a little more easy. You didn’t have to keep a huge secret from Winter anymore.
Now, it was the evening of Christmas Day. You stood at the door of the Andersons’ after each of you had celebrated your respective festivities with family. You knocked at the door and this time, Scott opened it.
“Hello, Mr. Anderson. Happy Holidays.” You smiled politely. He always had a stern look about him; not that he was cruel, he was just…firm. He was a silver-tongued lawyer after all.
“Hey, Y/N. How was your Christmas?” He asked as he moved out of the way to allow you into the house.
“Oh, it was fine, same as usual.” You replied as you made your way to the living room, being kindly greeted by the rest of the Andersons.
“Ooh, Y/N’s here!” Winter announced happily as you passed the threshold of the doorway.
“Oh, Y/N, you look so pretty in that jacket!” Mrs. Anderson gushed.
“Oh, thank you.” You giggled awkwardly as you made your way to hang up your coat, Kai rising to help. Maybe too eagerly.
“Here, let me.” He offered and you shrugged, slinking the heavy coat off into his hands. He politely hung it on the coat hanger as you smoothed out your sweater.
“Kai!” His mother no-so-discreetly whispered to him from across the room.
He furrowed his brows curiously and she excitedly pointed above him. He tilted his head up to be met with mistletoe. He looked at his mother, who was doing an enthusiastic thumbs up.
She wanted to help him out so bad.
He looked at you with a fake grin. “Hey..mistletoe.”
You looked at him oddly before glancing to his mom and getting the picture. “God, you are so lame!” You snickered before pulling him to your lips by his collar. He let a squeak due to your abruptness, but quickly melted into it, his hands softly cupping your cheeks.
“Attaboy.” Scott said flatly as he sipped his beer and Julie just patted her husband’s shoulder. The way they reacted would’ve told anyone they believed that the thought of seeing Kai be with someone like that at a Christmas-y thing with family was a pipe dream.
You got swept up in the kiss and as you kept sucking face, Winter blurted, “Mom, you do know they’re dating, right?”
You and Kai broke apart, cheeks turning red. “Oh.” Julie remarked in embarrassment. “I did not know that.”
Kai wrapped a hand over your shoulder. “Yeah, uh, Y/N’s my girlfriend.” He clarified nervously, messing with the cuff of his flannel. “Surprise.”
“To absolutely no one.” Vincent added flatly, which earned an eye roll from Kai.
Later, you and the three Anderson siblings snuck down to the basement, a yearly tradition at this point. You all sat on the carpet while some random Christmas movie played on the television in the background.
You sat in Kai’s lap, the two of you all cuddly while you chatted about, catching up with each other. Though, it was mostly Vincent because he was the one who was around the least.
“So you two have only been together since Halloween?” Vincent asked, showing he was clearly unconvinced.
“Yes!” You laughed, sweeping a hair out of your face. “Vincent, I swear on all that’s holy, that’s the truth.”
“Yeah, you should’ve seen her, she was a cute little ladybug.” Kai gushed, pursing his lips. “How could I resist?” He was being so syrupy sweet it made you snicker internally. “She’s my little ladybug.”
“Okay, Kai, ew, you’re being gross.” Winter dryly teased, sticking her tongue out in disgust.
“What? You want me to tell him how good we fucked or something?” Kai cocked back.
The way he was so blatant about it while you were sitting in his lap suddenly made you feel a little uncomfortable.
“Okay, you don’t have to do that…” You muttered awkwardly, looking at the ground and patting his arm as a signal.
“Oh, shit, I’m sorry.” He told you, realizing his misstep. “I shouldn’t have said that, right?”
You shyly shook your head with a chuckle, while Winter went with the eloquent, “Hell no.” She was more so saying it to dog on him in your defense.
You could feel him tense up underneath you. He was really naive when it came to the complexities of relationships sometimes, you’d come to notice.
“It’s fine, though.” You assured them all. “He’s just a goof. I think he was trying to avoid telling you that while I was dressed like an awesome ladybug…he was dressed like a honeybee!” You revealed dramatically, a huge, snarky grin on your face.
And that saved it.
Vincent gasped, playing into the dramatics. “No!”
“Yes!” Winter snickered. “God, I wish I had a picture.”
“There was glitter too.” You revealed devilishly.
“Alright, that was your fault.” Kai countered with a laugh.
“Was it?” You questioned mockingly, making a goofy face at him before you both giggled. Kai leaned in to give a soft peck to your lips with a grin.
“Okay, just because we all know you guys are together now doesn’t mean we need to watch you smooch.” Winter taunted lightheartedly.
“Eh, you’re just jealous.” Kai scoffed before smooching you again.
“Oh, wait, I have gifts!” You announced, pulling away from Kai’s lips and crawling out of his lap and over to your bag.
You first pulled out a package wrapped in shiny cobalt blue and silver wrapping paper. You turned to Vincent, holding it out to him.
“Vince, I got you a new Moleskine.” You said as you handed him the present.
“Oh, Y/N, you didn’t have to, really-“ He told you hesitantly. “I didn’t get you anything.”
“Why would I care about that?” You retorted back, urging him to open it. He did so, setting the tissue paper to the side. “I thought the navy suited you, Mr. Psych-to-Be.”
“Wow, thanks.” Vincent grinned as he held the book in his hands, inspecting the stitching. “You know me so well.”
“Duh, Vince.” You joked, patting him on the shoulder. “Most polished prep I know.”
Vincent just chuckled in response as you got out your gift for Winter.
“Winter, I got you some of those tattoo chokers you like and more nail polish.” You put the items into her hands as her adorable chipmunk eyes lit up.
“Oh, sick, the bottles are little skulls!” Winter gasped appreciatively, inspecting the glass from all angles, looking at all the little glitter specks suspended in the polishes. “And the chokers are perfect.”
“Here, I got you, well, I made you…” Winter reached behind her, revealing a sleek cameo brooch. It had intricate, bronze-y framing and a smooth ivory colored cameo on a black background. “A brooch, ‘cause you’re cool as hell.”
You gladly took it from her hands, checking out the detailing of the pin. “Whoa, what the fuck? Where’d you learn how to do that?”
Winter just shrugged with a smug grin, playing shy, but you could tell she was cocky about it.
“Okay, stop showing off, Winter.” Kai dryly chuckled as he looked around before muttering an, “Oh, shit.”
“What?” You asked. “What’s wrong?”
“I think I forgot it at school.” He admitted, frowning.
“Oh.” You shrugged. “That’s fine, don’t worry about it.”
“Kai, you dipshit.” Winter scolded before Kai raised his hands defensively.
“I’m kidding.” He handed you a neatly wrapped box. “Here.”
You gently unwrapped the paper that you could tell he spent a very long time on getting right, and when it was off…
“I got you a new CD player, ‘cause your other one is janky.” Kai said awkwardly and you just gazed at it. “It’s stupid, I can get you store credit or someth-“ He went to grab it out of your hands, but you stopped him.
“I love it.” You told him, promptly cutting him off. “Oh, shit, it comes with headphones, too!” You grinned wide and smooched his face appreciatively. “I love it. I love you. Thank you.”
“Yeah..” He was all flustered; you thought it was adorable. “I love you too, I’m glad you like it.”
You nodded with a hum. “Mm-hmm! I got you…well, I got you a couple things.”
“Y/N-“
“Hey, don’t scold me, ‘tis the season.” You retorted, wagging a finger with a teasing grin as you dug in your bag.
“Holly jolly or whatever.”
“Okay, I got you some stickers I thought you’d like, like, to put on your laptop.” You said as you put a little gift box into his hands.
“Isn’t the point to not know?”
“Fine, then I’ll just put it in your hands.” You scoffed as you shoved two more gifts into his hands. “You figure it out.”
“Okay, okay.” He rolled his eyes. “Sorry.”
“Thank you.” You said snarkily as he opened his gifts, you curled up against him, resting your chin on his shoulder.
He opened the two small ones first, one obviously being the stickers, and the second one…
“Socks?” He asked, his brows furrowed curiously.
“You kept bitching about how cold it was in your dorm, so I got you nice warm ones.” You told him, pointing at them. “They’re waffle knit, too. Fun texture.”
He nodded. Getting socks from you definitely meant more than getting socks from his mom.
He then finally opened the bigger one. “Oh, shit. A lap desk thing.” He stated, flipping it over in his hands.
“Yeah, I thought it’d be nice, ‘cause your laptop gets hot, I mean, you use the thing all the time.” You giggled softly as you awkwardly explained it.
“Yeah. I like the colors, too.”
“Were they sold out of purple?” Winter questioned. “Purple would’ve been sick.”
“They didn’t have purple.” You frowned lightheartedly. “Disappointing.”
“Well, the colors are nice either way.” Kai assured you.
“Yeah, the lap desk is yellow and blue, but it’s because I know you like those colors, not because they’re for Michigan U.”
“I don’t go to the University of Michigan.”
“I know, dumbass.” You playfully shoved him. “That’s why I said that.”
“Oh, wow, Vince, that’s true love right there.” Winter snickered and Vincent gave her a congratulatory high-five.
“Real mature, guys.” Kai remarked back before tilting his head back to you. “Thank you. These are great.” He grinned sincerely before smooching you.
“Are you sure?” You questioned. You really cared about what he thought deep down. “They’re okay?”
“Yeah, of course. They’re great. Dude, my laptop is gonna look so cool. Writing shitty papers will be so much better, too.” He chuckled, a goofy grin on his face.
“Okay, cool. So, who gave better gifts? Me, right?” You snickered cockily, looking to Vincent and Winter. “It was totally me, right?”
“Totally.” Winter chuckled.
“Sure.” Vincent replied jokingly.
“Alright, watch it.” Kai warned, a big, stupid grin on his face.
“I knew it.” You cheered self-righteously. “I love all of you Anderson fools.”
And you did. God, you loved them.
