Chapter 1: Getting the group

Chapter Text

A day has passed since the festival and Eri’s first smile, and today is another tiring day of education for the students. They each head to the dorms to relax and finish their homework.

“Why do they have to give so much homework?” Denki groaned.

“Oh, stop your crying; it’s annoying,” Bakugo shouted. “It’s not even hard; you’re just an idiot.”

“Hey, Uraraka,” Mina called out. “Some of the other girls are going out, and I was wondering if you would like to come.”

“Oh, hey, Mina,” Uraraka replied. “Sorry, but I promised my parents I would get one of the top scores on the next test, so I need to study.” The pink-skinned girl could only sigh at her response.

“Deku, look what I made!” a small white-haired girl called out. The young aspiring hero promptly knelt to admire the cute drawing that depicted them, along with many other students, holding hands and smiling, except for a frowning Bakugo.

“Aww,” the green-haired boy cooed. “It’s amazing, Eri! This needs to go on the fridge so everyone can see it.” Just as a minute ticked by, everyone was about to start their activities when suddenly, everything seemed to stop for a split second with a large flash. Instantly, they realized they were no longer in their dorm; instead, they found themselves in what could only be described as an endless white void.

“You kids alright?” They turned their heads toward the voice and saw not just their teachers but also U.A.'s Big Three and Hitoshi, along with Hatsume, Power Loader, Lunch Rush, Principal Nezu, Recovery Girl, and even the school's guidance counselor, Hound Dog.

“We are fine, sir,” Iida proclaimed. “But by any chance, do you know where we are?”

“Not a clue,” Eraser Head replied. “So keep your guard up.” Just as he finished his order, another light flashed behind him. This time, it was some of the top heroes, minus Yoroi Musha, along with some of their internship mentors: Selki, Uwabami, Fat Gum, Mt. Lady, Gran Torino, and Gunhead.

“Do any of you know how or why we are here?” Eraser begrudgingly asked. Still slightly dazed from the sudden transportation, they all took a moment to compose themselves before confirming that they had no idea. Once again, another flash went off, and this time it was the Wild Wild Pussycat,s including young Kota.

“Let me guess; you don’t know where we are or why we are here,” Bakugo stated in annoyance. They could only give the same response as the others.

Finally, a fourth flash glimmered, and only three people appeared this time. Seeing two of the three, All Might ran to check on his friends.

“David, Mellissa, are you alright?” he asked.

“We're fine, but what’s happening?” David replied. “I was in my workshop, and suddenly I was here.”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Shield; with me, you and your daughter will be safe,” Stars and Stripes claimed.

After waiting a brief moment, no more people showed up, and the adults began to gather together while the kids and students tried to keep each other calm and focused.

“So, any idea on where we could be?” Endeavor questioned.

“I’ve got nothing,” Eraser Head said in annoyance. “I had Jiro listen to the ground, but she couldn’t hear anyone else but us. Then I had Iida run around trying to find a wall, but he kept coming back from the opposite direction every time.” Everyone looked on with concern and confusion upon hearing that puzzling outcome. Stars and Stripes was the next to speak up.

“Wherever we are, re I can tell you it's not made of cement,” Cementoss added.

“I tried using my quirk, but it's like everything here won’t listen to me.” That was truly worrying to the group. Stars And Stripes’ quirk allows her to manipulate reality, even if it only does two things at a time; the mere fact that it doesn’t work on the space around them speaks volumes about their captor's powers.

“You think they have a power similar to you?” David asked.

“Maybe.” Shortly after, a portalopenedo, grabbing every attention as a normal-looking early 20-year-old man wearing civilian clothingwalkeds out with one eye closed.

“Sorry I'm late,” the man said, “I had some personal things I needed to handle that unfortunately took longer than expected.” Everyone stood in confusion, staring at the new arrival, before they all got ready in case a fight broke out.

“So you're the fuck that brought us here? Why?” Bakugo demanded.

“Relax,” the man casually said, “Yes, I brought you here, but it was for a good reason-.”

“And we should trust your dumbass? Why? “ Bakugo angrily interrupted, causing everyone else to straighten at the situation. The man could only sigh before speaking.

“Because if I wanted to hurt you.” The man stopped as both the space and the man himself began to stretch, twist, and deform, revealing metal and flesh intertwining as illegible symbols danced along them, glowing with unknown power as arteries, nerves, and veins mingled with pipes, wires, and circuitry with ethereal energy glowing through them.

“You’d all be screaming,” the man's now cold voice came with an echoing boom as he towered over the group, his open eyes glaring at them like scornful stars. Everyone except Hatsume, who was too busy looking at the machinery to care, stood with various forms of concern and fear plastered on their faces. Yet a mere second after his statement, abruptly, the way they were before he transformed, causing Hatsume to pout over not getting a closer look at the machinery.

“What happened?” Eri worriedly called out,t pulling on Deku’s pants.

“Yeah, you guys just froze and looked up while making scared faces,” Kota added. Hearing the young children's words, the group shook themselves out of their trance and gazed at the man in confusion.

“What do you want me to do to traumatize them?” the man asked sarcastically.

“So it was an illusion?” Eraser Head prodded.

“You want to find out?” The man asked, the cold tone returning to his voice, with small parts of him morphing back to the creature they saw, but this time, both Eri and Kota could see it, each giving scared faces. A Slow minute ticked by before the man broke the silence.

“Good. Now, sit and let me explain why I brought you here.” As the man finished, the high school desks appeared, each with the name of a civilian and their hero on the side, arranged with the shortest in the front andthe tallest in the back.

“Um, excuse me,” Present Mic asked, still nervous from the man's earlier demonstration, “some of these are kinda small for us.” He gestured towards himself and the other adults and then to the desks. The man shrugged and then made the chairs bigger to fit the adults, but also made them toy chairs for toddlers with the words big boy/girl on the chairs. The prank got a few laughs from the group before he finally changed it, once he got stink eyes from the more serious members, to seats one would find in college auditoriums or meeting halls.

“Fi,rst for simplicity, you may call me Drake,” the man introduced himself, “and before you s, tart please no formality, I deal with enough of that as it is. Now let me be the one to introduce you to the multiverse as a whole, where everything exists, whether you like it or not.”

“So the multiverse theory is true,” Deku asked, pausing from writing in his notes about Drake.

“Yes and then some,” he answered, “and for the most part,t each reality has its own dimensional walls that keep them separate from the rest, but as some of you might be guessing there are outliers, one of them being the cause for me starting this.”

“Oh, like those old comics about other versions of Earth colliding into each other,” Denki stated, “ wait, don’t tell me our worlds are going to collide and destroy each other, or we are going to be a part of some multi-dimensional war.”

“Relax, it's nothing like that. Don’t get me wrong, it’s going to be a massive event that is going to have everlasting consequences and will endanger many people, but nothing that bad.” The group let out a sigh in relief that their world as a whole was not endangered.

“This reality’s walls are on the thinner side, meaning it tends to leak into other realities as well as things leaking into it. However, this is more of a full-blown flood rather than a drop.”

“So what kind of things can we expect from this so-called flood?” Nezu questioned in a serious tone as everyone sat in their form of attention.

“Well, luckily, we don’t have to worry about introducing magic to your world, or at least to a level that matters,s and the sentient races aren’t high on the technological scale, le so we won’t be going over too much of it, but there is something I need to show you that you might like. The main thing I’m going to help with is the wildlife.” Most of the younger members and the more childish adults pouted about not getting magic. Hatsume soon joined them once she heard that technology was not that advanced.

“So what makes the wildlife so dangerous?” Eraser Head asked, somewhat annoyed by the group pouting about what should be good things.

“Well, this world is populated by animals the locals dub monsters, and I can easily see many of them giving you pro heroes a challenge.” That got the group's attention, animals that could give pro heroes a challenge.

“What kind of monsters?” Koji asked nervously, each word accompanied by shivers.

“Oh, ordinary stuff like non-magical dragons, wyverns, and other forms of giant animals, as well as a few outliers.” Everyone was shocked by Drake’s casual tone about animals that could easily hurt or even kill someone, or even one of them.

“So do people have quirks in this world? If not, how do they survive?” Deku asked, finishing his drawing of Drake in both his human and monster form.

“First of all, nice drawings. Second, I wouldn't call anything they do a quirk, but the people do have some tricks up their sleeves, and at the end of the day, these are still animals, if on the bigger side. It also helps that the people use parts from the monsters to make better tools, armor, and weapons." After hearing the answer, Deku immediately started writing down various notes and theories before pausing once he realized Drake knew about his drawings without even looking at the page, and added some more notes.

“So we're going to be learning about these so-called monsters?” Mirko asked, smashing her fist into her hand in anticipation, some of the other risk-takers sharing her enthusiasm.

“For the most part, yes, but it won’t just be monsters. People and ecosystems will be coming as well,l so it’s best to learn about them too.”

“Wouldn’t taking the whole ecosystem practically destroy the world?” The Power Loader question is concerned about the other world.

“Don’t worry, that is one of the few things I can help with. I will just copy and paste them back, and no one will be the wiser. I will also ensure that no one too influential is placed into your world. But before any of you even think of asking if I have this much power, why I don’t just stop it from happening in the first place, let's just say there are reasons out of my or your control,l so there’s no point talking about it.” Drake spoke,ke but his voice became more somber as he spoke. The more concerned the group was, the more relieved that the other world wouldn’t be destroyed, but quickly understood the next part of his words, many of them realizing he might have the power to stop this event. No one spoke up, however, choosing to give their new acquaintance some trust, thinking they would be spending a lot of time around him.

“Now, before you learn about the monsters themselves,” Drake perked back to his casual tone, “I think it best to learn about the people and their tools and equipment first.” At the mention of equipment, Hatsume perked up. The world didn’t have advanced technology; it was still technology from another world, so she still wanted to know what they could have come up with.
