Work Text:
Nakamigawa was having a hard time. And like every time he was having a hard time, Shigeki decides to pamper him. He’s leaning against his chest and Shigeki has his arms around his torso, hands folded over his stomach. He was patiently listening to Nakamigawa struggle to get his thoughts out.
“…And I just—… I don’t know, I don’t feel like… I-I don’t feel like I should be loved. By— By anyone.”
There was something in the silence after that told Shigeki he was done talking. He presses a kiss to Nakamigawa’s temple. “I disagree.”
“You’re biased,” Nakamigawa scoffs.
“Maybe. But I believe it full-heartedly.”
He mutters something under his breath. Nakamigawa folds his arms over Shigeki’s arms. He could imagine the pout on his face. He kisses his cheek this time. “I love you.”
He makes a noise, half whine, half protest. He huffs a sigh, “What are you doing?”
“I want you to feel loved.”
“By kissing me?”
“Is it not working?”
“No.”
Shigeki didn’t believe that, but he could play Nakamigawa’s game. He moves to his front, cupping Nakamigawa’s face between his hands. He presses a kiss to his forehead. “You’re handsome.”
Nakamigawa’s breath hitches. He wrinkles his nose at Shigeki, despite how red his face was getting.
He kisses his temple again. “Charming.”
His eyelid. “Enchanting.”
The bridge of his nose. “Endearing.”
Shigeki kisses him until he’s kissed his entire face. He breathes against his mouth for a moment, pressing his lips against Nakamigawa’s after muttering, “Lovable.”
Nakamigawa grabs Shigeki’s forearms as they loosely hold his waist. He kisses back, leaning into it, trying to counter how soft Nakamigawa was being. It didn’t work. He was being so tender, and his heart swells. Nakamigawa almost wants to cry again.
They stare at each other when Shigeki eventually pulls away. Slowly, Nakamigawa leans into him, and when he does, he practically melts into a hug.
He does feel at least a little loved, and maybe it does make him feel better.
